I wanted to do an SBA loan and the gentleman who got me the other loan put it through SmartBiz Loans. The process was a little difficult but we got it in the end. It took me five months and the fees were a little exorbitant. Also, even though the rates were good, it should have been told that they were not a fixed rate but a prime plus rate. But the representatives were very professional.
At first, I thought SmartBiz was fake but as a business, we had some debt consolidation that I wanted to do and needed a working capital. I've worked with banks before and I know a lot of people but they were just so picky. When I did the process with SmartBiz Loans, I felt like they could help me better. I got a working capital for $200,000 from them. We went online and uploaded every little piece of information we could ever think of for our business. Luckily, our records were in order and we were able to get everything to them relatively quickly. Over the next week or so, they would need this or they would need that. We got declined by one of their providers and then another one of their providers approved us so it was good.
I worked with James and he was a smart kid. He was able to help me with some workarounds and to get some things done. I felt like he was on my side and he fought hard with the underwriters to get us our loan. He did a fantastic job. I was very happy with him and with SmartBiz Loans. It's an incredible company. They made the process very smooth. It did require a lot of paperwork but it's understandable with the type of loans that people are trying to do. We had a down year and then we're back up this year but we were able to still get funding. I've told so many people about SmartBiz Loans and about James in particular. I hope he can help some of these other people that I know. It was a long process and you're stressed out and your back's against the wall. But two or three weeks was nothing compared to a regular lender so, it was definitely worth the process.
My son was researching online and he was doing a lot. Somebody from the bank told him that because of the type of business and the time we had in the business, we may qualify for a loan. The process with SmartBiz Loans was kind of long at the beginning trying to find and understand what we were going to do and how we can apply for the VA loan. It was the tax season and we had to wait to have the taxes done before we can continue. After that, it was very smooth.
Ken guided us and communicated very well all the time. Every single step we were doing, he was telling us why, when to expect an answer and he was giving the answer to us and researching for that. Until the very last day, he was very helpful. We did everything from our office and that was nice. Also, working with SmartBiz Loans helps a lot because we can keep the employees. We get more of the tools, loans and debt done. In that case, we can have a cash flow to continue doing this and then get more projects done.
I was looking through another loan service and SmartBiz Loans came out in my research. I called them and did the application. They turned me down, but another gentleman called me back and told me that he had something that would work for me. I applied online and they got in touch with me again to tell me all the paperwork that I needed to send in. Once I sent all that in, they told me I was approved. The process took about two months but they finally got me funded.
Everybody was very nice and polite. They helped me out with everything I needed. If I needed time to get the paperwork for them or anything from the people that I was leased to, they were very patient with me. Everything was great with them. SmartBiz should keep up the good work. I took out a business loan and my business is going very well because of their help. They're an excellent loan company and I'm sure that everyone that works with them will appreciate them like I do.
I needed a short-term capital so I went with SmartBiz Loans as recommended by my friend. I applied online, got responded to, got some documentation and then they approved. I really like their reps. They were courteous, very professional and they knew what they were doing. They were very helpful with what kind of document that I needed to complete and in putting together the package. Working with SmartBiz Loans has been great. They did a good job and I'd recommend them.
I wanted to expand a little and SmartBiz was one of the first people to respond so I went with them. Their rep, Mike, was super responsive and great about answering questions. He was extremely pleasant and really easy to work with. I filled out an online application and their reps told me a bunch of other paperwork that I needed to email or fax over to them. And then, they got back to me with stuff that they thought the bank might look for that I haven't answered, so it seemed like when the paperwork went to the bank and we got approval, it was quick and easy.
The process took a month but part of it was because I changed my mind in the middle. We had a misunderstanding about their fees. There was a girl that emailed me and then turned it over to Mike. Normally, Mike talks about the fees in the first call, but because it was turned over to him, he thought she had already covered it and she hadn't. It was on the email but it was lost in the top. And so, I needed a larger loan. We were gonna start from scratch with a different bank and then SmartBiz went to the bank and told them and they said, "Yeah. No problem." So they just suggested the amount. I received a working capital business loan and it has been a positive experience working with SmartBiz because now, I can move forward with what I had been needing to do.
I needed an SBA loan as a working capital as it was the key to not only doing some financial restructuring but increasing our business revenue as well. SmartBiz had a good mailer, plus I went on Trustpilot and I looked at all the reviews. The whole experience was great. The people that I was working with were very attentive and they understood what we were trying to do, and they got it done very quickly. I'm very satisfied.
I was seeking financing for a working capital, product development and marketing. SmartBiz's process was similar to every loan I've gotten. I had to apply and write all my financial statements and projections then do all the paperwork. If you’re reasonably computer-savvy, uploading the documents is easy too. But I'm not that computer savvy and I had to go through links and upload stuff. Then it went into the process and they came back to say it's been approved and to give the details. It didn't take that long when I actually got it going. The team at SmartBiz was great too. I didn’t have any questions that couldn’t be answered or any issues that couldn’t be resolved very quickly with a single call. Things are better now that I got the SBA loan and I would tell others to go for SmartBiz as well.
I’m very satisfied with the experience I had with SmartBiz. I did an SBA loan with them as I wanted to refinance a couple of things and grow my business. I went with SmartBiz after having read the reviews online and since my financial broker put a good word out that they are the best at SBA loans. SmartBiz proved that as their team is amazing. They’re very professional and always there for the whole process with me. It was a long process but everybody was on point. They gave me strength and something to look forward to in building a business. I trusted them from the beginning till the end. They didn’t let me down and I was pleased. For anyone who's trying to finance, SmartBiz is definitely a team to work with.
SmartBiz Loans was the first one that I got to in Google and I got a working capital and refinancing from them. It was easy to apply however, the enrollment took forever. I had two different agents. The first four months was a guy that didn’t seem to do a very good job following up. So, nothing happened much in the first four months. After that, he quit or got fired and then a lady took over, and we were done within a month and a half.
We wanted to grow our business and SmartBiz provided a quick, easy and painless way to get an SBA loan. During the application process, there were a lot of questions on what we needed the money for, as well as financial analysis of the business. There was a whole lot of paperwork and then finally, there was approval after. The application took eight weeks total.
The person I interacted with was great. I worked with Hunter and he was very thorough. He helped me out through the process, walked me through everything. I enjoyed working with him. I was able to get a working capital loan with a debt refinancing. I'm working on marketing strategies and able to have the working capitals to work on advertising and marketing. It has definitely affected me positively, so I'm definitely happy about that. SmartBiz made the SBA process, which is usually extremely daunting, much easier, smoother, and more feasible. I don't even know that I would have gone through the SBA process if it hadn't been for SmartBiz.
I had been working with Break Off Capital and I was seeking less expensive financing. SmartBiz worked with me on the SBA. The SmartBiz team was always very responsive. Some of the interactions that I had with them were through phone calls and others were through emails. SmartBiz sent me an online application. They also asked for a lot of documentation separately. Some of it was uploaded into their portal and this process was very easy. Then, within a few days, they had my approval and a few days after that, I was funded. It took 11 days from application to funding. SmartBiz very quickly secured the financing that I needed.
The SmartBiz reps were knowledgeable, helpful, and accurate in what they said and what they represented. It wasn't a bunch of fluff and empty promises, unlike my experience with other financing places. When I spoke to the SmartBiz rep, we went over the financial data, all the tax returns, and told me what else was needed. They packaged it up where there were no questions left and everything had been covered. It was a little tedious because of so much information that they required. But once I provided them all that, everything went smoothly. And getting the loan has really helped with the working capital, which is the blood of any business. I'd use SmartBiz Loans again when I'd need them and I would recommend them.
SmartBiz Loans seemed to offer the best and seamless solution out of everybody that we looked at. We were trying to consolidate some debt and do a little bit of growth in our company, and from the beginning, they were incredibly helpful then it all took off from there. We started off by using their custom form that walked us throughout the steps of the process. We filled out and provided a bunch of documentation and other information. Their user interface was great and uploading the required documents was super easy. When we had finished the applications, they called us and walked us through the rest of the way to the finish line. We couldn’t have done it without them. SmartBiz Loans certainly positively affected our business and helped us with our cash flow. That reflects on our lives too.
We were dealing with a couple of other financing companies that were just really sloppy and somebody recommended me to SmartBiz Loans. They were much more thorough in preparing an extraordinarily large amount of paperwork when we got a working capital loan from them. And then, they just sent the money afterwards. My interaction with their team was mostly through email and a couple of telephone calls which was all business and straightforward.
I was looking around online at different funding options. I have a small business so I get some of the keywords I used towards just a small business funding and SmartBiz Loans, along with a couple of other options, came up. I had applied for a smaller SBA loan a few years back so I was familiar with the process and I know that the SBA loans are good for small businesses. That drew me to look into SmartBiz Loans right away.
I had already researched some other different financing options and what I needed was some flexibility in terms of payment options. I wanted a longer term and some of the other funding options would give you a significant amount but they expect you to pay back in less than a year. When I submitted for a pre-approval through SmartBiz Loans, the terms that I saw that popped up were exactly what I needed - longer payback time, lower interest rate.
I did an SBA loan the first time and I submitted a request to see which banks would be interested in giving me an SBA loan back then. I was given a list of banks but then, a rep directly from the bank contacted me and then I did the whole application process through the bank. It was very labor-intensive and time-consuming. It took about close to two months to get through everything and I was going back and forth with the bank rep on the phone. It was a grueling process.
However, when I applied for a loan through SmartBiz Loans, it was ridiculously easy. Before they even took anything to the bank, they made sure that I had everything I would need to get the funding and get the approval. The SmartBiz Loans rep was on top of everything and I was able to go on at my timing and submit all the documents that they needed. He knew exactly what I was gonna need in order to submit everything to the bank. He made sure that everything was in order before even taking it to the bank and then the process from there. That didn’t take a ton of time. I was able to upload them right to the application online and I didn’t have to play phone tag, going back and forth with a rep at the bank. Once the application was done and we submitted everything to the bank, funding came in a matter of days. It was much easier than the regular process.
Working with SmartBiz gave us exactly what we needed. I went into this because my businesses were pursuing a big growth opportunity and we needed some capital on-hand to do it and SmartBiz gave us an easy access to this funding and got a quick approval and turnaround time. SmartBiz gave us the opportunity to go and grow our business. Without it, we wouldn’t have been able to jump on those opportunities.
I restructured to more cost-effective, better terms and SmartBiz Loans was extremely easy to work with. They were able to get it done. I applied on Lendio, got a call from a Lendio person, Lendio reached out to a handful of people then SmartBiz was the one that responded, worked through the process with them, getting all the financial reporting done and a super smooth closing and it was done. I dealt with primarily one gentleman and he did a fantastic job. Any time we had difficulties, they made it ridiculously easy to get it to him.
My website needed redoing. It's from 2009, so it's way out-of-date. It didn’t have a search feature and we're making some major changes with it but I needed money to do it that I didn't have. And the bank agreed with us that we could have that fund. I had just started trying to work on an SBA loan through a local organization. We have a question area on our website and they had a marketing guy who posted the question. I have nothing to lose, so I thought I'll give these SmartBiz Loans a call. I talked to Susan and we had a great conversation. And then she passed me to Tim and he was great. I liked the platform that SmartBiz has for providing information to them. I upload everything and if they needed additional things, they put it as an additional requirement and we worked through things. A lot of what he needed I already had because I'm an accountant and I do those things. So, it worked pretty fast and we were both pleased.
They sent me a link to an area that I signed in on and answered a lot of questions about myself, my finances, the business and its finances. They wanted to know that our company was a healthy organization that didn’t have any obligations or outstanding problems and I provided all of that. Also, they wanted to know what I wanted to spend the money on and we went through the process step by step.
Tim got down to choosing the bank and they had more questions. That was a bit more behind the scenes and he would contact me and I would answer whatever questions that needed to be answered. I was given paperwork to sign and resolutions to update and once the bank was satisfied with that, I was funded. I had the money in my bank account. SmartBiz Loans was very professional. Everybody is nervous when they go through a process like this, but SmartBiz made it run smoothly and it was a great experience. I have somebody I'm going to recommend SmartBiz to who has an ongoing business but need some additional equipment.
We sought financing for operating capital and cash flow and SmartBiz Loans had a really easy process. It's a lot of uploading taxes and different forms but their whole system was fairly automated so it made it easy. I just got the loan but it was a good loan. It was a fair rate and I'm happy with it. Business is good.
I sought financing from my business perspective on what I needed to get into a studio space. I’ve tried a couple of banks. My friend who went through the same process had the same issue as a small business. She went the SmartBiz route and she told me to try them if I had problems going through my bank. I went through their website and filled out all of the information online. And then they had a representative reach out to me to keep me notified if there was any other paperwork that needed to be turned in to them. And also, the rep kept me informed of the loan process on where it was and the progress of it. They did an amazing job. SmartBiz turned my life around as far as giving me an opportunity to make that next step in my business that other people wouldn't give. If not for that opportunity, I wouldn’t have been able to offer more things to my clients and I could have gone out of business.
I had the need for a loan and I received a working capital loan from SmartBiz. Their process was a lot of work, but it was smooth and the website that they built made it neat and pretty easy. I had a couple of calls with the loan officer whose job was to gather the data and it was sent to the actual decision maker. Working with them made it easier to get a loan, but the fees incurred were hefty. You have to pay them as getting business loans and working through the SBA are not easy. But the fees were worth it for their efficient systems and having the kind of advocate helping you out.
SmartBiz Loans is a good company. For a while there, we had a pretty bad business and in 2008, we got almost killed. So I invested capital for the business to keep it going and when the business started doing better, our credit went up again. We were making more money again and we had better credit references. But in the interim, I went to a couple of really good companies and their banks had a hard time seeing past our minor problems. They didn't have time to deal with me but SmartBiz did.
We had a lot of credit card debts and we wanted to get one smaller thing and lower our payment. SmartBiz Loans did an SBA loan for us. The other companies couldn’t make that happen for us but SmartBiz made it work. The process was the same with everybody. It’s always to give them half your life in paperwork and then they decide if it's true and they find out if you qualify for the loan. The loan officer we worked with was really good and very helpful. I'm a pretty busy guy but they kept on me to get the thing going. They never let me lag by a couple of days. They called me up to ask what they can do to help and they were relentless in keeping in touch with us, which was good.
I've been working with loans with banks and compared to SmartBiz, it's like night and day. I was looking for financing for working capital and a broker directed me to SmartBiz Loans. Originally, we started with the broker then I dealt with SmartBiz directly because they had to ask me questions about how I intend to utilize the fund. They also asked for some documents and some personal tax returns, company tax returns and IDs. We submitted those then they came up with a couple different offers and we went for one of the possibilities. It was a lot simpler than it is to work with banks. They have more parameters that are geared to small business than banks normally have.
Unfortunately, small businesses cannot give guarantees that big businesses can give, such as budgeting and a track record of consistent sales. We are much more affected by swing in the consumer demand. We go up and down, and banks unfortunately are not geared for that. I would recommend SmartBiz. I've been working with them for just one month and it has been a straightforward relationship. They provided coordinates so that we can wire extra money and they have a minimum monthly that we're supposed to pay. But we are managing to pay more than that so we expect to pay off our loan not in five years, but in two.
The application process claims to provide pre-qualifications and then pre-approval status. You will be spending a significant amount of time providing all of their requested documents, after which you will be assigned a "specialist" that will review all of your financials and other misc documents for a 2nd time (collect more personal data), and advise you whether you are in fact "qualified" or not. This means nothing unless they can find a lender that will fund your loan, which is contingent on another department's recommendation to "move forward" or not.
SmartBiz Loans gathers all of your information while making you do a lot of leg work, including having your insurance broker provide certificates of insurance naming their referred bank as additional insured. They THEN try to solicit the loan to these partnered banks in hopes to make money by way of a "referral" fee. Too much time spent and a false sense of hope given throughout the entire process. NOT RECOMMENDED... Better off going through a local bank.
Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We’ve investigated your case in detail and it appears that you did not meet the financial requirements of the SBA banks on our platform.
SmartBiz packages and “stress tests” SBA loan applications according to standards of our preferred SBA lending bank partners. Approximately 90% of all loans referred to our partner banks get funded, increasing the likelihood of getting to a “yes”. However, there are the 10% who do not get funded and unfortunately your application was not approved due to credit and cash flow issues. Because the federal government guarantees SBA loans, there are strict credit requirements in place and additional documentation may be requested after you’ve completed the initial application.
Your Relationship Manager did go over several ways you can qualify for an SBA loan in the future including paying down business debts. We wish you and your business the best in the future.
The SmartBiz Loans Team
I applied to SmartBiz for a loan for the first time a long time ago. It was for my wife and it was denied. I was trying to bring in more merchandise to grow my small business. I applied for a loan again and this time I was approved. I sent the paperwork including my business documents and all tax returns, bank statement, my lease, and insurance. The whole process shouldn't have taken so long but I had a back and forth because of my landlord and some paperwork had to be signed. The rep, Connor did a great job and after he was done with the process, Bank of Finance called me. They did the process fast and they did everything. I’ll recommend SmartBiz Loans, definitely. They were great and I’m very satisfied.
I needed financial assistance to grow my company and develop my business product. The SmartBiz Loans website was pretty good in terms of clearly representing the data, conditions, terms and the amount of payments per month. Last year, the first time I applied for a loan, it didn't work for me because my company wasn't meeting their requirements. This year, everything worked out fine, so I was pretty happy.
I got an SBA loan from SmartBiz. Uploading the required documents was easy because most of the stuff were already uploaded for me from last year. I still had to collect a lot of information and spend much of my time but the result was worth it and it was pretty easy. They did great and they also completed it. My adviser, John, was great. Working with SmartBiz gave me the possibility to force addition, employ, and open the way of working with new suppliers. It's highly beneficial for my business and it is a low-cost financing through SBA, which is something that I was looking for. I would recommend this company.
Due to the options of their SBA loans, I decided to go with SmartBiz. Their loan process was rigorous and there was a lot of documentation, which I understand. It's a government thing, but there was a lot of stuff I had to dig up. Their rep, Anthony, was great though. He helped me out and walked me through everything. However, I wish I had more of a list at the beginning. There was an initial list but then the list kept growing. It seemed like if you had all the items upfront, the process would have been easier, especially for me. I had an accountant and I had to go back two or three times to get information, so it would have been easier if I had been able to just give her one list. But because of the loan, we're financially a lot more stable, which relieves a lot of the other pressures. Although it was a long process, it was definitely worth the effort.
We were told that SmartBiz is good at helping small businesses like us to get an SBA loan set up. Abe referred us to Mike from SmartBiz and he drove the process. He works on a regular basis with small business loans so he requested all the information that SmartBiz was gonna need from us to do a preliminary application. He did the initial work, passed the paperwork and packed it over to SmartBiz. Then, I started working with Mike and spent a few weeks working with him on filling in the holes on the information that they needed. He was absolutely incredible. He's one of the best people I've ever worked with in any capacity in any company. He gave me his personal cell number. He's in East Coast and I called him a couple of times later in the evening. He was at a baseball game and he pulled aside and took the time to talk to me and made sure that I got my questions answered. He was available 24/7 and super friendly, nice and smart.
We tried to get an SBA loan through our local bank a couple of years ago, but it ran into all sorts of problems and delays and they ended up not being able to do it. This time was a complete contrast to that because Mike made it very easy. He knew what was needed to get the job done and he made sure he got it lined up. There are a lot of times when you do financing with a company, they'll end up saying, "We'll take your information, throw it over the fence and see whether there's something the underwriters are willing to consider." That's not at all how Mike and SmartBiz work. They knew exactly what was needed to get it done from the very beginning and not just get it considered. He focused specifically on us on getting whatever documentation and information were needed to get it done, and it was super quick and easy. There's nobody out there who'd be better. I throw them the strongest recommendation I could give to somebody.
I wanted to refinance a business loan that I had and my wife went online looking for business loans. Then I got bombarded with phone calls. RapidAdvance was the one that said they were able to do SBA loans and then they referred me over to SmartBiz Loans. And since it is a broker, the company looks at a bunch of different banks rather than dealing with one bank. They make things easier compared to going out and looking for the banks ourselves. Plus, they were very good and I would recommend them.
We got a ten-year SBA loan with a variable rate and it freed up more cash flow for my business. But the loan took longer than what we thought it would. The first lender said they were gonna do it all and dropped out at the last minute then SmartBiz found another lender. In getting an SBA loan, there are gonna be some bumps in the road and it gets frustrating. But the people at SmartBiz Loans know what they are doing. I talked to Kevin and when he went on vacation for a week, I dealt with his manager, and they were very responsive.
The first time that I tried with SmartBiz Loans, I was rejected because I didn’t meet their standards. I have two companies and I said that in six months, I was going to try to refinance the loan that I had. I did it to switch from short term all the way to long term. I was working with American Quest for seven years and short term loans are very toxic. They don’t help me grow into becoming a company that makes million dollars. I was paying $7,000 monthly on those loans and now, it's going to go back to $4,200. I would also have $600,000 to play around with the cash flow.
My experience with Barrack doing the process was fantastic. He deserves a raise. Plus they have a good platform and they followed up with us. There were some bumpy rides because with this type of loan, they eventually take you everywhere in order to be classified. But we had the numbers and at the end of the day, we pulled it off. It was overwhelming at some point but my organization interacted with SmartBiz Loans and they made it a very smooth ride.
Our interactions with them was also very easy because we had organized all the paperwork that needed to be shown to the banks. If you don't have your papers ready, it's going to be a challenge with any situation. But if you have your financial right and you want to go without wasting time, go with SmartBiz Loans because you're going to get approved. Also, the thing that I liked the most is that they took it seriously by searching us first, and secondly, by giving us the numbers and measuring us to see if we were capable of the responsibility of getting the loan. It's not just getting. It's paying it. They don't just tell you, "Here's the money. Go." Then the next year you're going to be bankrupt with all the fees. They're very smart about all that, checking you out to make sure that you are qualified, and that makes it safer for businesses to keep growing.
I got a letter in the mail enveloped in some kind of marketing piece. I looked at a bunch of these and the material of SmartBiz Loans seemed better than the others. I called the rep and the rep sold me on the potentials. I got the SBA loan. I did a really quick email application which qualified me. The rep called me, asked me some questions and then sent me a list. We went back and forth for about three weeks with all the stuff that he needed, it went through an audit process, then it came back. I gave them some more information, cleared audit, then I went to the bank to get payoffs and the bank approved it. Then they sent us a DocuSign which was really slick. I signed the documents in full at 10:00 in the morning, and the loan was funded at 3:00 in the afternoon. The entire process took about six weeks, but I've had multiple SBA loans to commercial banks and this process was at least twice as fast.
Getting this particular SBA loan in a timely manner freed up a lot of cash flow needs and saved us a tremendous amount of money based upon getting our interest rate in a longer term. It was painful from a paperwork and process perspective, but there was a three-hour time zone difference, and their team was very good at getting back to me quickly. They were excellent and I felt like they were a real advocate for us.
I needed some business capital and SmartBiz was a pleasure to work with. Their process was very user-friendly and their people were nice to talk to. They helped move everything through and when there were issues, they addressed them. In the world of lending, that's about as good as it gets. If anyone asks me about them, I would tell them to go for it.
When we started with SmartBiz Loans, the process was complicated that could have been discouraging if we had to do it on our own. But with SmartBiz driving the process, the complicated process was made easy. There was a lot of back-and-forths throughout and there were repetitive asking for certain documents too, but I understand they're getting it culled down to exactly what the banks are looking for. And at the end of the day though, it was successful. The team that helped me was very good. I had one specific person assigned to me and he was really thorough and ushered us through the process. He was also good about keeping us posted and pinging us for documents.
I went over to a neighbor one day and asked him if he could give me tips as I was thinking about getting a business loan. He told me that I needed to try SmartBiz. I tried to get a loan in the bank and I didn't have any luck. SmartBiz was able to get the deal done for me and even faster and more than I was asking. I applied online then a customer rep reached out to me. They asked me a lot of questions about the reason on what the money was for. I was at a business stage as I did part-time for a couple of years so my revenue was low in the two prior years. But last year, I got it to a good enough number and got me to the point where I grew to where I needed this money to start helping the cash flow for salaries.
SmartBiz had my financials and they looked through my numbers. It happened to be towards the end of last year so I was able to show them what my revenue was for 2017. The rep told me to file my taxes early and they could get me X. That was their suggestion and I would have never known or thought about that. I just had an interview today for somebody. I'm considering expanding the space a little bit. And SmartBiz has given me the freedom to invest. There was a trade show that I was on the fence last weekend and I was able to attend. I got a few good leads and I'm chasing on that right now. So, it had freed up the capital to where I can start to expand the company. I can bring on a salesperson and a few producers so that I can start working on the business and less in the business, which is really where the business needs me to go right now.
I needed an SBA loan. I was reading the reviews and I liked how SmartBiz process everything electronically, so I went with them. During my application, I produced the papers here then I uploaded them online, and they would get them. Then they would tell me what else was needed and I slowly put the package together. I got a bad rep the first time and the second time, the guy was leaving and there was radio silence for 10 days. Then all of a sudden, somebody else picked up the paperwork and things went very quickly. The process took a little bit longer than I expected, but overall, it was a very good experience. I'd tell my friends who'd ask me about it to prepare if they're going with SmartBiz. The SBA would take a while and there's a lot of paperwork involved.
I recently got a small business loan with SmartBiz and the experience has been okay. I want to grow my business, and I get calls all the time from different companies. But the options that SmartBiz had worked better for me and it was interesting. The loan process was tedious. I had to keep going back and forth and they were asking for new and different things when I thought the process was done. But everyone says that when it comes to receiving funding for a business loan. Working with SmartBiz is helping my business.
I had a couple other loans that were high interest. I wanted to refinance and I got debt refinance, working capital and high-risk category loans from SmartBiz. The reps were great and professional. When I had a question, they were always available to me and they knew their jobs. The only thing was the application process was rough. The portal was not getting all their docs, and a lot of the docs are useless. And I never even heard of half of them so I had to search them out. And then, I would load them but I wouldn't see them so I would load them again but I still wouldn’t see them. But then, I would send the docs directly to them, and then I would finally see them. So, it was labor. They're doing something for me, but it's tough when you're a small business and you're trying to do business. It took at least two months to get it done, but I'm happy I got the refinance at the end.
It's a great program and my credit was good. It definitely helped give me more cash flow and let me buy some other couple of pieces of equipment. It certainly took the burden off a couple of things. Even though I have good cash flow and very good sales in the first place, I took the interest bite off of the other couple of loans that I had so I'm glad I did it. I would do it again and I would suggest SmartBiz to people. The only downfall was they had to approve who I am and what I was saying. They wanted the older three years to four years of taxes, too. And my business was totally different from three years ago. But overall, the whole experience wasn’t perfect but it wasn’t horrible either.
We're a new company with a really fast growth. We were going to be short on cash to support people who need 60 to 90 days to pay us. And there are a hundred of companies out there, but a couple of guys from SmartBiz who called me seemed to be more focused on a lower cost of loans. The loan process at SmartBiz was straightforward. However, there were two people involved, Bill and another guy, who didn't communicate very well. A lot of times I'd be getting the same request from both of them and I wasn't sure if I should double the answer, to send it to both, or say that all it got to take is a phone call and I've got to talk.
We had a bunch of Guido loans that were high-interest, but we had to have them to start and we're done with that. When we worked with SmartBiz, we got rid of the Guido loans. Now, we're into an interim versus permanent financing ground with this. I'd recommend SmartBiz but I would also recommend that they improve their communication between their staff.
I got an SBA loan through SmartBiz and it was the best experience I've ever had with a bank. I was looking to grow my business and SmartBiz seemed like they had the best requirements for my situation. The interest rate was lower than others too. The application process went awesome and our rep was honest and worked incredibly hard. We had a few troubles uploading some documents as they weren’t going through at first, but he worked to correct it and I just emailed him directly. Also, he called to give me updates throughout the day. I didn’t have to worry about anything. And so, I've recommended them. One of my associates was searching for some capital, and I told him to check it out and see how easy the process was.
SmartBiz was excellent. Stephanie was very customer-oriented, organized and very professional. I got an SBA loan with them since they sent me a pre-qualified letter. The loan was a lot of help on the cash flow and then we have a new project and it was also much helpful for us.
All businesses have cyclicality to them and the steel business certainly does. We've been in a downturn and it got worse in the middle of Obama's term up through the end of his term. When Trump was elected in November and he became president in January, we started picking up in a big way about March. We were expecting another big slow-down in the Fall like we had been getting the last six years but that did not happen. Instead, I found myself getting offered other contracts again, for the first time in a long time. And the rates were improving. In order to fulfill the volume of work, I had to get equipment and more drivers.
I started to pursue the loan in October of 2017 and it was a long enough time, since March 2017, to prove that we were not going to have that usual slow-down we've had in the last six years, from the Fall through the Winter. So I decided to take the risk, invest money in equipment and drivers, and expand. With SmartBiz, the loan started out at a nice small rate and the term was for 10 years. But somehow I missed the fact that the interest was variable and I'm a little worried about inflation. They're talking about acceleration of three times in 2018 but I think they're getting way ahead of themselves. I think we're going to have some inflation but it would be moderate. So I'm not too worried. I could have gotten financing in other places but the term would have been around four years which would have made the payment substantially higher. And their interest rate wasn't any better than the starting interest rate with SmartBiz.
And the reason I stayed with SmartBiz was their representative, Hunter. I misunderstood an email he gave me and I thought he was telling me this wasn't going to work. So I sent an email back to him. I was going to go with other lenders and I asked him to sort out my personal information that I sent to him. And the way he handled that communication impressed me. He said, "Sure. We will do that exactly as you requested. But may I ask why you decided to go with another lender?" Even in the email, it was written very professionally and not aggressively. I called him and we had the misunderstanding straightened out. You have your ducks in a row offering these SBA loans, but this guy went above and beyond.
I got so frustrated a couple of times but he did things in such a professional and cool way. He told me not to worry about it, that he would contact the insurance people and get the documents. He helped me and he wound up saying that I was looking better than what it seemed at first. He asked if I could use more money and I said yes. We went back up to the original amount, which was two and a quarter.
He put everything together and then he called me asking if I could use any more. I told him what I was really going to ask for and it was 250. I would have to get two tractors and get everything together. I have to train the drivers for six weeks a piece but they're not bringing any income while they're being trained and I got to give them a $1000 a week salary. The plates are going to be $3,000 apiece or even in nine months, the 2290s are going to be at 550. If you add that all together, I could use the extra money. It would also leave me a cushion for inventories.
He told me the banks pushed a little bit and he asked if I could write up a document on why I thought I could use that much. I did that. He gave it to the bank, negotiated well and got it approved. He stuck with me and helped me all the way to the end. He also communicated frequently through email or phone call. He was dedicated and professional. When I got frustrated, he checked with me if I was cool and handled some things for me. He even came in to work one day and he forgot it was a holiday. So I like the guy. He's a pro and I really appreciated him.
Now, I got the two trucks and they're going to be finished by mid-week. I have one driver who's been training for a week and a half and he's going to start right out. So his truck would net at about 2500 a week after payroll benefits. I take that out for the month and I'm well above my mortgage payment for this month. So it would increase the revenue and the guys are really happy about the newer equipment. The driver morale naturally picks up. It also makes me able to afford some better benefits than we have had. I've added a 3% retirement account and I'm going to add medical insurance but I'm trying to see what all my options are. Even in the short time before the truck even start generating revenue, there has been a lot of benefits. Once the two trucks add that additional revenue per week to our net gross, after all the expenses, fuel and taxes. There's going to be a very nice return on the investment.
I had done a SmartBiz loan through One Step Funding a few years ago, and this is my second one. I've done 4 or 5 SBA loans in my life, and we've been in business for about 30 years. The banks are a battle to get them done because they're so time-consuming. I've been qualified at other times, but this loan with SmartBiz took 45 days and we were done. They had some information already on file, and Michael was the processor in San Francisco. My experience was outstanding, and this was the easiest loan application. They were on top of it and Mike was really nice. He called me at 8:00 at night as some nights he was working so late trying to figure things out. SmartBiz did a really nice job for us. We were able to loan, pay off a lot of debts and consolidate the two other loans, so it saved us about $4,000 a month.
I was seeking financing for me to grow my business. I applied with SmartBiz and the process was really simple. They did a great job overall and I was very happy with everything. And from start to finish, SmartBiz was absolutely a great company to work with. I've done other loans throughout the years that have been a pain having to jump through hoops, but SmartBiz was very easy to work with. I'd recommend them.
I wanted to grow my business. SmartBiz was tied in the FDA so I got an SBA loan from them. When I applied, they required a lot of financial data and information about my business. Working with them was fantastic and we closed the loan within two months which was really fast. Their fees are a little high but I got what I paid for because they expedited the loan. Working with them provided funding for my business and I would recommend them highly.
There were enough data and reviews on SmartBiz and since we were seeking some financing for our business, we applied with them. Their process was streamlined, and their rep, Philip, helped me with everything. SmartBiz took away a lot of stress because I was able to consolidate high-interest credit card. I referred my brother to them and he is currently working with Philip.
I looked at another place, and that place wanted to charge me $500 upfront just to do something. I get that I pay a fee, but I'm not going to pay upfront. SmartBiz Loans didn't charge that way. Also, they looked respectful, and they sounded pretty good. I applied for a standard SBA loan from them, and the process started out well. It started out fast, but then it slowed down, and it seemed like every time I send one document, another document would be requested. I talked to my office director and she said, "Why don't you just give him the list of all the documents needed", which I would have thought would have been nice. I started the process in November and I didn't finish until the middle of January. That was the slowest thing I've ever seen in my life.
Also, I had to initiate communication with them, and I had to push them along. They charged me $4,500 and they seemed to have lost interest in getting it done. I had a local bank, which was my own personal bank, and I did an SBA loan, and they didn't seem to want to bother because it would have been too much work. Nonetheless, SmartBiz was fine and they got the job done and I appreciate it. But they have process problems and they need to hire more staff.
I saw that SmartBiz Loans was doing work with SBA loan, which sounded like better terms upfront. As it turned out, the terms were really good. We took out a $100,000, 10-year SBA loan. The process was way easier than I thought it was going to be. Others always say that the process is easy, but it never is. In this case, however, it was. They sent a short email where I filled in a few pieces of information and took me less than 5 minutes.
They then assigned us an agent who worked with us. He asked for materials and helped get those. Moreover, he helped put it all together. He did a great job holding our hand through the process. There was one set of questions where I had to upload documents. I attached my documents, financial statements, and projections. It was relatively simple. Moreover, their guy walked me through the places where I struggled to get them on. So, that worked out okay. We had a thoroughly complicated loan because we were building a new building. We had another SBA loan coming in, so there were subordination clauses. They worked through all that. Although it took a little longer than their normal ones do, it was done really quickly compared to most SBA loans.
The loan was a big help to us. We're expanding dramatically and we live in a small county in Utah. For a manufacturing company, banks don't have many good products here. They're just small local banks, not national, and don't have the wherewithal to really understand our kind of business. I'm from California originally and several big businesses have started down there a lot easier. They have the bigger banks over there and it's hard to get decent financing here. I've recommended SmartBiz Loans to two other people in our area and will continue to do so.
I talked to a guy and he said that one of the best places to get SBA loan was through SmartBiz Loans. And my experience with them was fantastic. Everything was very smooth. During application, they told me they needed several forms so I sent them. Then they said, they needed more forms so I sent them too. It really wasn't paperwork. It was just uploading and sending. It wasn't anything that I had to do because they were already done. It was a matter of getting them and sending them but it was time-consuming. Once I sent everything in, it was fine.
My business is insurance and it's not a problem to show the proof of the income, but I also have a couple of rehab businesses and they don't make a lot of money. As they have seen where the money was going, they required me to send other stuff for them. It would have been a lot quicker if you only have one business. But the people at SmartBiz Loans were really good and they answered all my questions. Every time I called, I didn't get an answering machine or a voicemail and I was impressed with that. They were always there and answered the phone. I highly recommend them.
I got an SBA loan from SmartBiz and working with them helped us expand the way we needed to. I found them online and went with them because they were easy to use. The application process took about six weeks. I gave them all information and I got funded. I had a good experience with SmartBiz. Come and try them for something you need.
We had been working with Fundera and they put us in contact with SmartBiz. We had also applied with SmartBiz a year prior and we qualified but we didn’t end up getting in. This time, they gave us a couple of things that they knew we'd have to hit in order to get there. We had a good year so we reapplied. We had to work with our accountant and our own books and documentation. There were a lot of paperwork and requests to the process but the people were good to deal with. They were friendly and the communication was good. They knew, looking at the breakdown of the loan, that they had a lot of interest in making it happen for us. They got paid to do it.
The order of operations doesn't make sense to a layman or business person in general. There are things that you should overcome first, but they don't necessarily come first. Sometimes, they come way later than you think where it's either redundant or it seems out of order. But I don't know what their perimeters are. They may have rules that they have to cover certain things first to qualify for the SBA. The process was a pain but those things may not have been up to them necessarily. I still had a successful and good experience with them and we ended up receiving an SBA loan.
I sought for a financing service to build my business up and SmartBiz fit my needs. I received the SBA loan and SmartBiz took care of a lot of the work on it. They helped walk me through the process and were professional in the manner of getting the loan.
I've had a very good experience with SmartBiz Loans. Applying was easy. Moreover, they've helped me a lot through the whole process, especially with the paperwork. The rep helped me in filling up the paperwork I needed in order to complete my application. I tried two other companies before and nothing was happening, but I'm very happy with SmartBiz Loans.
The process of applying for and receiving financing from SmartBiz Loans took three weeks and it all went smoothly. They helped me and I had a good experience with them overall. Give them a try.
I was investigating about business loans on the internet and I talked to a few other companies prior to SmartBiz. None of them had to do with small business loans. They just had to do with financing for business and they were in the private market. I found that hard to follow up with because I’d been in the business for about two years and they wanted all kinds of things. It just became too much of a headache and I didn’t receive fair treatment. SmartBiz provided me with a Small Business Express via Express Loan, and they were quite helpful when processing it. The process was pretty seamless. There was a web-based application where I could check my own progress. Also, the reps were there for me so I was extremely satisfied.
Working with SmartBiz is very stress relieving. I’m coming into a loan with my business and it’s going to help get marketing up and running. It's also going to help get people to my door. It's very instrumental and I couldn’t see doing without it. SmartBiz Loans worked out great and I’m very happy with the experience. It is very user-friendly and I’d recommend them to anybody.
SmartBiz Loans was great. I started with sending emails back and forth. The person who attended me was awesome and was really helpful. I took an SBA loan and there was a lot of back and forth collecting documents. My point of contact was really good about answering questions as well as answering his phone, even when he was in the middle of other stuff. It was really good customer service. In addition, I was never in the dark about anything.
We're a new business and we're growing quickly. We're making it big time, but in reality, we're growing so quickly that the cash flow can be really tough because we're trying to keep up. On top of that, we operate in a very seasonal economy as we're in a tourist destination. A large percentage of our revenue is from our cafe line of business, which happens in the summer months. Working with SmartBiz Loans has allowed us to have a little bit of cushion and comfort during this last season.
I was looking for a Small Business Loan and I found SmartBiz Loans via an online search. They were great. Most of the small business lenders are just trying to sell really bad loans. However, with SmartBiz Loans I received a very good loan with very good rate and terms. They were very upfront, honest, and efficient. Moreover, they gave me the cash when I needed it. I very strongly recommend them to anybody.
I was consolidating my debts and it was through Lane Capital at New Orleans where I got my SmartBiz loan. It was a great experience all the way around. It got my monthly payments down quite a bit. It was a 3-month process, mostly gathering a lot of paperwork. The team at SmartBiz was very professional. I'd use them again and would call my friends about SmartBiz and have them apply.
I had a couple of loans that I wanted to consolidate and a bit of cash to work on a couple of projects. Everybody seeks to finance for more money anyway so I hooked up with SmartBiz Loans. The loan was big and they had the highest dollar amount coupled with the longest term, and it was the smallest monthly payment. The application process went very smoothly, and any time there was a question, they answered it. I’ve already paid the loan back, so it was a short-term financing thing. The SmartBiz team was comfortable to work with and I’d recommend them to somebody. Overall, my experience with them was positive.
SmartBiz Loans sent me a text message. I wanted to grow my business so I called to find out and I liked their terms. Their application process was great. It was my first time seeking a loan and their representatives were wonderful and were always willing to help, and they walked me through the process. I got my loan and it was very good.
I had a friend in New York who's a broker and knew that I'd took out some merchant cash advance that had gotten me into a really deep trouble financially and she suggested trying for an SBA loan through SmartBiz. I thought that was pretty unlikely and I heard that SBA wasn't making loans people even slightly associated with oil and gas. I was skeptical. We worked on it for almost four months but it got done. SmartBiz was really good. I was paying for $65,000 a month in fees in total payments and this just ended it. It wasn’t that much money but it was a tremendous, almost every dollar that I borrowed from, I owed twice and it just kept going every day. I was going to go bankrupt.
SmartBiz changed my whole life. It got a spec to where I can open this day up feeling like there's hope. I was beginning to not like waking up in the morning. The rep, Huy, was really good and then everybody else was really good too, but Huy especially. I really liked talking to him. He had walked for a couple of other companies before and he and I got to know each other a little bit, but he really kept at it.
Huy was the guy who was referred to me and then he had a guy named Kevin, who was his supervisor. I heard from Kevin only when Huy got sick and Kevin asked me to take care of a couple of UC3s that had popped up over the years. Then, the young lady in town was also pretty good too. Later on, I found out that every series of questions was a test to weed up people. It was interesting because it was a big deal to answer those questions that the people didn’t like answering but it seemed to me like kind of a normal stuff but it was very interesting. It was hard to do.
The process took about four months. It was the first day of the year of January, the second full business day. During the process, there were a lot of disclosure. You had to let them know what you're doing, how you got there. I've got text records going back to 1993. They were looking pretty far back in time to see what kind of history you had and it was a pretty thorough investigation.
Since working with SmartBiz, life is good again. I've been on a downhill current for almost two and a half years. It started out with a bone infection and IRS finding that one against me and then it just descended into MCA until I got things together. It's only about a year ago I realized that I wanted to get it together. I needed a real loan and I've got plenty of assets but it was hard for somebody who would loan on those, but they did. They didn’t even use hardly any of assets. They just use the building here where our office is in and that was about it. Everybody else was wanting to take my home and everything else for very little. SmartBiz was pretty exceptional.
We were in need of financing to extend our business and SmartBiz was willing to work with us in a decent amount of time. I've talked to a gentleman named Philip and he was pretty awesome in his ability in helping us. He worked with me all the way through it and I feel that he was very knowledgeable. SmartBiz has helped us out greatly and I would recommend them.
I've had nothing but good results with SmartBiz Loans and I think they're fantastic. They were efficient, fast, and knew what they were doing. They told me how soon they could close the loan and that’s what they did. It took me less than three weeks to get my money. They were very helpful and it was a team effort. They worked very well with me and my accountants to make this happen. They're the best people I've ever worked with and I don't know where I'd be without them.
SmartBitz had good interest rates and they made it sound simple to apply. But the application was more difficult than I expected. I had to jump through quite a lot of hoops just getting paperwork and documentation together. I got frustrated at a couple of points and almost pulled the plug on it and didn't move forward because it was taking so much time out of my day. But the people I've worked with were great. They were very helpful and patient with me. Overall, I would recommend SmartBitz.
We made an extension and had a lot of merchant loans that I wanted to consolidate. I was referred to SmartBiz and received a working capital from them. I had a fine dealing with their people and everybody was respectful. They're on it and they would notify us right away when we needed something so everything went well.
I loaned a working capital from SmartBiz Loans as advised by my broker and everything was very easy. They sent me all the information and I signed them and sent them back to them through a portal. Also, the customer service rep whom I dealt with was great.
I was looking into growing my business and going to a larger facility. I started researching on the 10 best merchant lenders and SmartBiz Loans was listed as one of the best ones to get temporary loans through. I touched base with them and I knew immediately that they were the real deal compared to other companies that I was talking with that I got frustrated with when I was in the process of attempting to work something out with them. So, I just responded to SmartBiz through their website and within five minutes, I was contacted by my manager for SmartBiz.
Drew spent half an hour on the phone with me asking about my business and what the funds are going to be used for because I was looking for a $70,000 line of credit and he explained the different programs available. He said. “We can do this and you’ll get it quicker or we can go get an SBA alone at about 20 percentage points cheaper than some of the other merchant lenders were offering. But it takes longer and there’s more paperwork.” So, I said, “Well, let’s do that.” During the first conversation I had with him I knew that these guys weren’t out to scam anybody. He gave me the whole breakdown, what needs to be done and easy to follow steps. He helped me prepare the documents and get everything done. It took a few weeks to get it all done. Then, when it was all done, he got me a lower interest rate and he approved me for a $150,000 line as opposed to a $70,000. It was absolutely fantastic.
He was very diligent about following up without being obnoxious. Once I got the package done, they took it to their lenders and they found us a lender in Celtic Bank who did the SBA alone. I went directly to the SBA and started the debt process and I just got intimidated and confused. Drew took me through the whole thing that you have to do on the SBA and he was instrumental in making sure that things build out correctly the first time and answered any questions we had. If there were some documents that had to be prepared, he helped us prepare them and made sure everything was done correctly.
Uploading my documents was simple. I just clicked on the little icon there and it took me right to my files. The things were uploaded instantaneously and there was no difficulty with that at all. The whole form that we had filled out with them couldn’t have been easier because it was all broken down into little easy to follow stages. When a very complicated process is broken down into 13 or 14 stages, one or two can be done each day without completely disrupting the workday.
I went through there and there’s a little progress bar that goes along the bottom to show you how far along you are in the process. It says, "Download profit and loss statement here." You just click on it and you go right to your files. Click on profit and loss and the document is populated there. Then, the closing of the contract was all done with DocuSign so even the closing was really easy. You just flip through the DocuSign document, sign where required, and then the money was in the bank within two days.
SmartBiz Loans helped my life out by reducing the stress. Because in the construction business that I’m in, you have a lot of ebbs and flows where when you start in big commercial projects, you have a lot of money going out. Then you’re waiting a long time for it to come in which causes a lot of sleepless nights. So, the loan alleviated the stress and gave me some cushion to allow me to accept larger projects and even additional projects that I would have to turn down until I got some of the receivables in.
Since I’ve done the loan and it’s been less than a month since I closed on it, I’ve already increased my revenue for the next quarter by almost a half million dollars just because I’m able to accept more projects and larger projects than I would have been able to had I not gotten the loan. So, it definitely had a positive effect on the business and I’m sleeping a lot better at night. I’m definitely going to use them again when I grow my business again.
I got a working capital with SmartBiz for my business expansion. The application process was a pain, it's the usual suffering unjustly. They wanted everything, including my blood pressure and the body temperature. But I don’t fault SmartBiz for that. They’re following the rules. They were also polite and patient during the process. Their team was exceptional. The only thing would be reduction in paperwork though I don’t know if they have any control over that. They’re looking for tax returns, TNL, cash loan statement, etc. By the time I was done, I got a folder that’s six inches thick. I went through the same thing with mortgages. And I can’t fault the bank, it’s what they have to do because of all the government regulations. But as far as SmartBiz being helpful, the continuous follow-up and things like that, they were great. SmartBiz is where you want to go if you’re looking for a small business loan.
I took on some high-interest rate loans, wanted to refinance and heard about SmartBiz through Abe from Radix Financial. I was interested in SBA financing and the process through Abe and eventually, through SmartBiz, was quick and easy. First, I got tax returns, some P&Ls, and some other financial statements over to Abe and I was told we would qualify. They submitted most of the documents on my behalf. Further down the process, SmartBiz gave me the log-in and I was able to, step-by-step, upload the documents they needed.
Marcello from SmartBiz would call me on my cellphone when he had a few questions to figure out. He was good and easy to deal with. He also knew the answers to the questions I asked him. The hardest part was getting all the documents. I knew that there was going to be a lot of documents for an SBA loan and most traditional financing do, but it took three weeks to get funded wherein majority was for debt refinancing and then, there was a bit of working capital. It was nice to refinance the high-interest rate loans and have peace of mind.
I received a combination of working capital and special loan from SmartBiz Loans for business expansion. Their customer service was good and the person that I worked with, a gentleman they called Nick, was very nice. He was well-trained and highly customer service oriented. He helped me from the beginning all the way to the end and made the process really easy for me. And if I had a lot of questions, he was willing to answer them right away. So, I'm very happy with his full attention. The total process took approximately four weeks and it was a lot easier than I anticipated. They gave me the funds that I needed to expand my business and at the same time continue my business as it is. So they definitely helped me keep up with the help to build a better business in the near future. I would recommend SmartBiz to anybody who's looking for a business loan at a very short and easy process.
I had gone to a local credit union to see if they would sponsor me for the SBA loan. I figured I would do that because then I wouldn’t have to pay SmartBiz their fee but that didn’t work out. A broker company that I had worked with contacted me and then we started to work on the SmartBiz loan. They have a much broader reach in terms of what banks they go to.
Nicholas did a great job, walked me through each step, and checked in on me on a daily basis. If there was something that they wanted, a different I dotted or T crossed, he would get back to me to say how to do it and what had to be adjusted. He was on top of things and attentive to everything in guiding where I needed to go. I even had to get some things put into place like insurance and he was helpful with all of it. There was somebody holding my hands through the process. The loan was a big help in terms of being able to move forward and to be freed from the financial restraints that I was under before. I had some projects I wanted to do that I can now get going.
We got a small business loan with SmartBiz so that we can grow our company and take on a few more projects and hire some people. We found SmartBiz online and their process seemed to be easy and user-friendly. My first contact with them was responsive so I went ahead and pursued it. They asked for a ton of information, which we supplied, and each step along the way, they asked us if there were any additional things that we could provide. I provided them everything they needed and met their requirements. They went to an underwriting process and sent us back an email and said we were good.
We worked with a guy named Drew. I've done banking for years and Drew was very responsive, more than most of the other people. He returned my calls, sent me emails and kept me updated. I had some concerns because it was over the internet but those concerns went away. Drew was very communicative and it worked out well. We started the process a couple of months ago, and we got funded about a month ago. It was quick. Working with SmartBiz has helped us. We got the money working for us.
My short-term interest was pretty high and I wanted to reduce it. SmartBiz Loans presented themselves very well and so I got an SBA loan from them. It’s like a normal banking loan where I have to provide enough materials and proof. The rep, Mike, was very helpful and the process took about two to four weeks. They’re very patient and directed me how to do everything correctly. With the interest relief, it made my life more stress-free and it made my business more viable. SmartBiz Loans is a very good company and they know what they’re doing.
We were expanding into a new line of business and wanted to consolidate some stuff. Spreadex Financial referred SmartBiz Loans, and they made it really easy, even if I had to get some stuff. Alex was constantly in contact with me and walked me through every step of the process. He helped me get the right stuff and made sure we had what we needed before we submitted everything so that there weren't a lot of things going back and forth. The process took three weeks. There was a little bit of time at the beginning when I was dragging my feet in getting documents ready. They are easy to deal with and very thorough on their end. I recommend them to anybody who's looking to expand or looking to consolidate any financing.
I used a couple of financial providers and SmartBiz’s product was offering an interest rate and a program that was a good fit for my business. So, I got an SBA program loan through a bank guaranteed by Small Business Administration for our tax quote issues. They provided the capital we needed to manage our seasonal calendar.
They got a web vehicle for a person who's wired for fill in the blanks from very complicated tax returns to all accounts and it monitored the progress all the way through. I went through it and it was fine, but I got stuck. I had a meltdown over the fact that my account structured the information differently so I just quit. About three days later, I got a phone call from their rep who was assigned to the project because I had gone far enough in the process clearly to give them my contact information. She was the only person I ever dealt with all the way through. She let me send her all of my data and she plugged it in. Then all of a sudden, I was back with their online process about three-quarters of the way. I could see the progress and it was phenomenal. She also emailed me and told me what's next, some of them I could anticipate and some I could not. It was an accommodating experience.
I went through another organization that worked very similarly. They were not professional and as a result, there were surprises along the way. The loan amount at the end of the process was half of what I applied for and I never was notified that we were working on a lower amount. But with SmartBiz, their system based-business was cool. They did a volume business and they tried and bought me stuff. The other bank down the street was not even connected with a process that made this possible. However, the federal government regulates how much can be charged on these loans and SmartBiz charges every penny of that, so it winds up being a very expensive process. But it was not as expensive as some of the less conventional things. And it was really a great experience overall.
I have a business that I wanted to invest more money into. I researched on financing providers, read around on it and SmartBiz Loans has the best term, best rates and the best turn around time. I ended up with an SBA loan with them. I did the application process online which was simple. They approved that and I gave the documents that were requested. It took two weeks to get everything organized and another week and a half to finish everything up. However, it was a little difficult to upload the required documents. I sent some documents manually and there were a couple of times it didn't work correctly, but we got it worked out.
I dealt with Philip and he was very helpful. He was sometimes hard to get a hold of because of his workload. But overall, he did a great job and worked out fine. Their fees were a little high but with the amount of money I got, it was well worth it to me. Now, I got funds to run my business and bought some more equipment. I would recommend SmartBiz Loans to others. It was a quick and easy experience with them and I got good results.
I was looking to franchise and I was told that SmartBiz was familiar with it and things would go quickly. I applied online and then someone called me. They let me know what information they needed through emails and I sent all of those back. The gentleman I talked to always returned calls right away. He referred me over to Celtic Bank and there was a bit of paperwork and stuff I had to send to them. However, I thought the loan was going to be an auto-pay where they would do an auto-draft for my monthly payments but I got a bill in the mail. Despite that, everything was fine. They were courteous, smart, respectful, knowledgeable and quick on their feet.
I needed to make some improvement and get more publicity on my company. I had some people tell me about SmartBiz and a person helped me and organized everything with me. He was good and the process was so fast. SmartBiz helps and they're a good company.
For one of my businesses, I used to get merchant loans and a person from Connecticut brought up SmartBiz Loans to me. I was going to pay off some debt because I had some high rated debts and also increase the business. SmartBiz was straightforward and everything was automated. It was easy for someone like me who isn't a mortgage broker. I only spoke with one person and I usually sent him an email and he responded quickly. The process was closed within 10 days and I had the money wired to my wife's account. Life has been a lot better since then. I was paying almost 30% in interest rates and now I'm paying 7%. I'm saving a lot of money and got more capital. I got less than what I wanted but I understand why. I had a great experience and I want to thank SmartBiz.
I needed a small business loan to grow my business. SmartBiz was the most customer-friendly and they seemed to know what they were doing. When I talked to them, they asked me for paperwork and I gave them everything they asked for. It was easy uploading the required documents online and their rep, Connor, took care of me and cared about trying to get me a loan. Also, everybody was friendly, professional and conscientious. Working with SmartBiz allowed me to get more equipment and some advertising, and my business has gotten a lot busier and I'm on the verge of moving to a bigger place.
We were looking at expanding a business and the agent who contacted me had put it out to a few companies. SmartBiz came back with the right numbers, and they were great to work with. They were thorough, detailed, quick and did a great job. We were able to supply them everything they needed and they worked through it all to get it done. Their contact person was fantastic. Other than having to come up with an amazing number of required documents, the whole process was great and quicker than I anticipated. We received a 10-year SBA loan from SmartBiz. With the way it has worked out, it affected our business in a positive way. It took on the need for me to personally continue financing and it has opened up some avenues of advertising that we wanted and gave us some extra money to do it. It was an excellent and professional experience and I would definitely go to them again. I recommended them to a friend, too.
I was drawn to SmartBiz Loans' method of filling out everything and tracking the progress online, so I gave it a shot and went with them. The application process was easy and straightforward. In their website, I followed the prompt, filled all information, and uploaded my documents as I got on. Hunter, my account rep, helped me through and made sure I got all the right documents. He was great and very responsive to questions, too. I had a very smooth process and a good experience, which I don’t always have with other people. The whole process was quick as well. It took me a couple of days to fill out the application and gather all the stuff I needed, while the closing part was at least a few weeks. With SmartBiz Loans, I got the financing to make some needed improvements and for things to grow. It’s definitely nice to be able to do that.
SmartBiz has a very easy process and the rep, Justin, is amazing. His professionalism and follow-ups impressed me. SmartBiz has given me the opportunity to take things to the next level and compete with my larger competitors. They are awesome.
I opened a new location for my brick and mortar business thus I needed financing. I read pretty good reviews about SmartBiz and their interest rates are also good so I decided to get my business loan from them. The process was a little bit of work, but we got it done in about a month. The guy helping me was really good, he was easy to understand and deal with. Working with SmartBiz helped me out a lot and I appreciate the good rate they gave me.
I'm expanding my business, hiring employees, and I needed some working capital. SmartBiz Loans was easy to work with. They made their online process pretty easy to get information back and forth. The initial setup thing where you go through and answer some questions was pretty easy, too. Their rep, Hunter, was really good. He always emailed promptly, showed me how to get things done. He was available to walk me through whatever he needed. He called a lot to just follow up and see if I needed help with things. He was on top of things.
My employer, Troy, needed to get a new truck in and pay off other loans with much more higher interest rates. He had been looking into funding and had received some information from different people that promised him a lot of things. He spent a lot of time with them and everything consistently fell through. SmartBiz Loans reached out to him and did a great job for him. He was very impressed with their dealings. They asked him for specific information that he was able to provide, and the whole thing went very smooth. SmartBiz did a great thing for us, and Troy was very pleased with them.
I put SmartBiz Loans against two other finance companies that I was talking to in the beginning and they were quick to respond to my questions. When I emailed or phoned, my call was always answered and my emails were always responded to. I chose them because of their customer service. They gave me true and honest answers to my questions and I felt very comfortable in dealing with the rep that I was given. I dealt only with one person and I didn't have to go around with anybody else or figure out who else to talk to.
On the other hand, their process had been medium in difficulty. We had to open up our books to them but I felt comfortable in doing that after doing some investigation on them. We had to gather a lot of documents, which was time-consuming, but they were very helpful in making sure that we were getting the right documents to them and not giving them things that they didn't need. In addition, I had heard from my local bank that the process could take up to four, five months for the SBA loan. I had also heard from other people that I knew who had gotten an SBA loan that it took three to four months. So, I was quite surprised that it only took between 60 and 70 days for the entire process to complete. Since getting the financing that we needed, we were able to purchase two new vehicles and we've done our expansion. The business has been fantastic and we're ready to hire more employees. It was a really good experience. When the time comes to do it again, they will be my first phone call.
We've got a growing company, and we needed financing. I saw SmartBiz Loans on the internet and it is much easier to deal with than normal banks. They got into your nuts and bolts of everything. The application process was easy but it took a little bit of time. We had to make sure that all the I’s were dotted and the T’s were crossed and we made sure that we had all our documentation in line. I liked the gentleman I dealt with out of New Orleans, his assistant and the SmartBiz people out of San Francisco. I got very good service. The team gets back to you, responsive on everything you ask for and they give their opinion, not just read a script which is what's so tough these days.
The process took six months from when we first started talking to them. I had a credit score that was a tad low just because of the way they rate things. I brought it up, and that was the little bit of holdup. I was on the cusp and I just did a few things that would help. I did it, and we're all set. SmartBiz has given us the ability to go ahead with a lot of the projects that we had planned on doing. Compared to 10 jobs in the pipeline, we now have over 80 possible jobs. It also made us put all the marketing ideas and marketing procedures in place. It's going extremely well with that. It's giving us a little bit of buffer that we didn’t have before.
I had a short-term loan which SmartBiz was originally offering. I told them that I was looking for an SBA loan and they said they also did that. Although there was a lot of paperwork and we had a problem getting my documents from the insurance company, it wasn't that horrible. Everything was very easy with them and they communicated extremely well. SmartBiz allowed me to expand.
SmartBiz Loans is a great company to get your capital loan from. I've done two SBA loans from them. I have been in the process with some other companies, but then they were taking too long. SmartBiz, on the other hand, worked on it right away and I felt pretty comfortable working with them. Michael, my contact guy, was the one who did everything from the application to following up with the underwriter. The process wasn’t too difficult. Just like any other institution, they wanted my bank statements, tax returns, PNL, balance sheet, etc. Doing the application online and then doing e-Consent and electronic filing was pretty easy.
The first time I applied for financing with them took four weeks. It was the first time I had applied for a loan, so I didn’t know what to expect at that time. I have went through a couple of other companies that were able to do that a lot faster (Kabbage and Fundbox). But, I was not able to get as much. SmartBiz gave me the working capital that I needed to succeed in the business, and I'm doing really well. Now, I got a second loan with them and it's been great. There are no hidden fees or hidden costs. They show what they're going to offer.
I liked the idea of doing an SBA in a 10-year term and I went with SmartBiz Loans. There was a lot of paperwork but Brad, the rep who I worked with was excellent and was able to get everything done pretty quickly. He was very responsive and if I ever had an issue, I would simply send him an email and I'd get an immediate response. You don't find that nowadays. In addition, it was mostly done over the internet which was nice because I can work on it after hours. I was closed within three weeks, so their entire process was easy.
I was searching a couple of different websites and reviews of companies that do SBA loans. SmartBiz came highly recommended by multiple websites that did reviews on that industry. The other ones were banks. I liked SmartBiz because they were using technology to streamline the process. In fact, the process was a lot better than any other experience I've had over other banks. It was as easy as it could get for someone with my situation. I had one main rep who guided me through the whole process. He was hands-on and very knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to help me get it done. Working with SmartBiz has been awesome. They did a really good job and provided great service. We've been able to expand. We're already seeing returns on the money we've been able to put to work in the business. It allowed us to move on to higher growth.
Our broker Marcus set us up with SmartBiz Loans. We were seeking for a working capital and SmartBiz Loans was the first one to reach back so we went with them.
We were looking for a working capital for our business and SmartBiz Loans has a good rate so we went with them. We weren't thrilled even though the rate was adjustable and we had confidence with Small Business Association that their lending would be solid. We also did everything online and we talked to a rep in San Francisco a couple of times. It took several weeks and a couple of quick conversations but after that we were approved. We had a lot to upload and there were questions about the things we had going on so there was some delay, but it got funded eventually so it was fine. It definitely helped us out so we're pleased to have done it.
SmartBiz offered small business loan so I went with them and sought for a working capital loan. The entire process took a few days. It was quick and simple. I did something online and then an account person was assigned to me. He was responsive and answered all my questions. He was good and we completed the rest of the application. He told me what was missing so I could provide it, and then it was funded. Their rep was very helpful and articulate so it was clear what I needed and he made the whole process smooth. It was a good experience and I couldn't ask for anything more.
I decided I wanted some working capital and I didn't think I was financeable just because I've gone out and tried to raise money with investors that said no. I felt disappointed and my compliance officer told me to go online and see if Kabbage or somebody can take a look at our financial. I did Google search and I ended up going through one of those lenders that farm it out. If applications were placed, they try to find 30 matches and so. I did that and it wasn’t a great experience. The amount of money they came up with was $50000 and really high points.
Because I'm a minority, and its a female-owned business, I thought that there is no way that SBA is going to help me. My compliance officer told me to fill out the application and I did. My loan officer, Kevin, got a hold of me immediately and told me to keep the great job I’m doing. He was the reason I did the loan. He was proactive. He told me that I had a solid business and increased the amount to $250000. I did everything he asked. My paperwork is good, clean and organized so all my financials are ready to go. From beginning to end I was funded in three weeks, five times more than I wanted.
I've been a businesswoman for 20 years but usually you're going to meet with people with their own agenda. People who over promise, under deliver. That's kind of the norm. It's gut-wrenching to go through that over and over again. He was my biggest cheerleader. There were a couple of times where I just wanted to give up. I didn't feel like he was just doing it for a commission. I felt like he was encouraging me because it's the right thing to do versus just trying to look for his next buck which is how most people kind of treat you. The experience was a game changer for me. I do business and I was able to fund myself without feeling that I needed some outsider to believe in me. Now, I can just lean on myself and keep rocking and rolling.
I've added staff and with the idea of growing the business, I needed to bring in a high priced person. We'll see about adding more and we're spending money in different ways on different marketing things that we haven't done in the past. According to Clark, the broker I was working with, SmartBiz has a very streamlined process for obtaining an SBA loan. I wouldn't have gone after an SBA loan but he assured me that he'd put a couple of other clients in touch with them and the process was streamlined particularly for SBA.
I had the ability to upload the documents SmartBiz required online, and the rep that I worked with was very helpful, prompt and efficient. The entire process went fairly quickly because anytime something was missed, the rep was on it right away and got back to me in a timely manner. Having gone through other similar processes for financing or refinancing a house or financing a boat, SmartBiz had one of the better finance processes I've gone through in terms being able to do everything online and having it be so straightforward. They are covering the followup part well.
I went to Sam's Club, saw SmartBiz and applied for financing to buy equipment for my business. I filled out a form, SmartBiz got back to me and the reps were very nice. I submitted all the paperwork they required and got the financing. I'm satisfied.
In order to grow my business, I needed to secure some operations capital so I could hire more staff while we grow. I researched small business loans on the internet and narrowed it down to find the best loan that was the most appropriate for my situation. SmartBiz had a lower interest rate range and I felt really good about working with a small business administration source of funding as well. This is my first time applying for funding and the whole process took a little bit longer than normal because I was learning how to gather all the documents they needed as I was going through the process. It took approximately seven to eight weeks, which was due largely to the fact that I was also travelling a little bit during my loan application process. I had to take some time to get the documents required back in a timely manner, but the process itself was smooth.
My point of contact at SmartBiz clearly walked me through every single step of the process, helped me review the documents and came back with recommendations for improving the documents to make it more appealing to the underwriter to help make sure that the loan would go through. I was also talked through some options about whether or not I would want to qualify for a little bit more funding at a higher amount or if I wanted to qualify for a little bit less. I always felt informed of all of my options and what I needed going forward. I successfully secured my funding and I was able to pay for more staff and more hours for my existing staff which has allowed us to expand our business.
We are looking at higher than regular revenue projections for the end of the year due to the fact that we have the operations capital which made it possible to expand our business and take on more customers and clients. It's been really helpful and enjoyable to work with SmartBiz Loans and to have that experience. I also took away a feeling of confidence and commitment to my business. As a business owner, I felt overwhelmed especially when it came to the numbers and money. But SmartBiz managed to make it a streamlined and stress-free process which was surprising and much appreciated.
When I call hold times not too long. They able answer my questions. They are friendly. I have no big issues with them. The application was not too complicated to fill out. Nothing confused me or caused me to stop filling it out. Their rates and terms were right in line with other companies. I did not pay anything more with them than I would have going through a bank or other organization.
There was minimal automated services. It was easy and fast to speak with a representative. They were really friendly and extremely helpful in resolving the issue. The application process was very thorough. It was not too difficult to fill out and the employees were more than willing to assist me if I had any questions completing it. The company went over the terms. They were very agreeable. There were no hidden or surprising things hiding in the text. The terms were an easy process to complete. The online tools were very handy. Anything that I needed to complete a task was readily available. They were easy to locate and utilize when needed.
It was pretty helpful. I talked to one guy and he helped me through everything with ease. The only problem was that I came in too early. The application process was relatively simple. It asked for a number of financials, which I was able to provide with little trouble. Overall very good. I was pleased with the good rates they offered. Terms and conditions were fine, although I think it was mostly standard. Overall pretty good. The online tools are very helpful. I can do everything I need to do online as opposed to calling someone. This is a key feature I enjoy using.
I was having a very difficult time and was getting worried so I called them and they sat on the phone with me until we got the problem resolved. It was great, Didn't take long. Straightforward questions they ask you and try to match you with the best possible experience, and they sit right there with you and are as helpful as can be to make sure that your experience was very happy. Rates and terms are pretty good because they try to get you matched up to how much you're making per year so that your rates don't increase and wind up backing too much out of pocket.
Most loan companies just want your business and don't care how they get it, but not this company. This company goes above and beyond to make sure that you are happy and satisfied with them and everything that they do. A lot of application processes can actually take you a couple of days to complete because they ask for all kinds of things that you wouldn't even think to bring with you or dig out of your files, but their process was very easy and simple to complete. Some, not all have hidden rates and terms that you are not aware of until they hit you with them. Not this company. Everything, including the fine print that most do not read, is explained in full to you before you sign anything. Some companies’ sites have online tools that seem to be "jumbled" and you are just not sure what to click on or where to go, but the company I used has very simple laid out online tools. You know exactly where to click.
Very professional and easy to work with. I developed a relationship with one of the customer service reps. Always helpful and gave me plenty of advice during my new business venture. Easy and easy to process. They made working with them a joy. Maybe a bit time consuming yet very professional at all times. Didn't understand some items and they fixed the problems with ease. I was lucky. The rates were very high and tried to rip me off but I was desperate and had no other options. What can you do. However it made me happy to get the loan for my new start up magazine and publishing and communication business in New York City. Very easy and they had not only online tools but a helpful iPhone application for smartphone.
Even though I didn't qualify they were nice about it. They tried to help me with other options. They told me other companies and processed loan application quickly. The application process was fast. I had to fill out a five-page packet including all information. They were quick to process and make decision. The rates and terms were easy to understand if approved. Their payments would be affordable yet quick to pay back. They also would work with you. The online tools didn't help explain anything. It was more helpful to talk to them on phone or in person. When you searched the online tools it didn't give you the necessary information.
The customer support representative was kind, courteous and extremely helpful. I was assisted in a kind professional manner. Any problem I experienced was handled with quick and efficient resolution. The application was easy, yet thorough. All of the questions were straightforward and the information needed was easy to provide. There wasn't any part that was difficult to interpret. The rates were as promised and expected. The terms were as discussed. I recommend talking to Bob if at all possible. He was a tremendous help with providing me the rates and terms that I wanted. The online tools were quite easy to use. Everything was conveniently accessible and simple to find. Navigating the online tools was also very easy.
The customer support was great. The person helped me out and got me where and what I needed. Thank you SmartBiz, you're the greatest. You should use it too. The application process was the easiest I have ever done. Don't get me wrong now. It was hard at first until the customer service came to the rescue. The rested were fair. For the price of the rate, the service was awesome and you would really like to get SmartBiz. The online tools were really helpful.
They were not always the fastest at replying, but always gave an answer in a reasonable amount of time. So, when I would try and contact them, they would generally take up to 2 weeks to respond which was quite annoying, but other times they could get back to me the same day which was fantastic! Considering how it could've been, I am very happy and would certainly do it again. To be honest I did not know that much going in and so their background knowledge of the process really helped me.
While I would say that today I could go back and probably get a slightly better price, or at least a lower interest rate, I am very happy in the quality of my loan and the way they treated me and helped me not only to understand my loan but in times where I was not sure I would be able to pay on time. If you need any help, just go online and they will help get you all the answers you need by having an array of tools and personnel to help you if you are lost or just misguided.
Their customer support is very helpful as they are attentive to my needs when I need a loan. They are always focused and they are always courteous. The application process isn't tedious whatsoever making me very satisfied. I am happy to be using their service because they met my needs and expectations. The rates and terms experience is reasonable and practical. I am satisfied with them as the rates are not too high and the terms are reasonable as well. Online tools are very useful and I had no problem navigating through the website. The tools were helpful and they are easy to use that almost everyone can understand it as it isn't that complex.
I feel like this company was like other ones, just doing their job. Have met some representatives that were outstanding and very helpful while I needed the help. The application was self explanatory. It even had links to areas that had answers or examples I should say that you needed help on. The results and rates and terms just helped me understand the reason why or why not basically. It was too self explanatory. The tools were so great. I appreciated them as I was applying online. The tools were there for great use to me and I enjoyed that very much so.
They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to answer every question I had with confidence. The application process was very simple and straightforward. Yes it was long, but that is expected when you're applying for a loan. All in all, it was a fine experience. The rates and fees given by this lender were fair. They weren't so low as to make you wonder if they were on the up and up, but not too high to make you not want to work with them. It was very easy to get online and research anything you needed to - current balance, making payments, etc.
