Subaru's extended warranty is called Added Security. As the only mechanical breakdown coverage backed by Subaru of America, Inc., Added Security extends coverage after your original manufacturer warranty expires.
Added Security ensures that factory-trained Subaru technicians will use only new or remanufactured genuine Subaru parts. Multiple plans are available. Deductibles range from $0 to $100, and most plans last up to eight years or 120,000 miles, although some last up to 10 years or 100,000 miles.

Classic plan
The Classic plan includes powertrain coverage, protecting your engine, transaxle and differential components. It also covers almost 1,000 parts, including most major components and some wiring:
- Steering
- Brakes
- Suspension
- Electrical
- Cooling and fuel systems
- Air conditioning
Additionally, Classic coverage includes a few extra benefits to help in a pinch:
- Towing allowance: All plans include towing if a covered failure causes it. It covers up to $100 per mechanical breakdown.
- Rental car allowance: All plans cover a car rental for up to five days if your BRZ is in the shop overnight for a covered repair. The allowance is $40 per day, up to $200.
- Roadside assistance: Plans include towing, jumpstarts and flat tire changes. Up to $100 is reimbursed for several services.
Gold Plus plan
The Gold Plus plan covers everything in the Classic plan, plus much more. This plan is the closest you get to a bumper-to-bumper warranty. Nearly everything is covered, except for a few exclusions like body trim and some maintenance items.
You also receive protection for electrical systems, with the plan covering all on-board technology and electrically powered components.
In addition, Gold Plus offers trip interruption coverage. If you break down 50 miles or more away from home, you receive a $500 allowance toward hotel and meals.
