Nick was very patient, attentive, friendly and has great customer service skills. I love my new 2019 Honda Accord! Eddie, the General Manager, was also fantastic and he always goes above and beyond to keep me a happy customer! This is my 3rd new car from Planet Honda in Union, NJ.

Only positive I can say is the car itself, the 2019 Honda CR-V EX. I love the car but the dealership is awful. Bait and switch tactics, making their sales staff lie and playing good cop/bad cop with managers. They act like you got a good deal if they quote you an initial lease rate of $599 then settle at $315 which is still much higher than the advertised "penny perfect" lease rate of $178 they advertise online. Apparently, cash due at signing isn't the same as cash due at signing in their online pricing either. For the $178 lease, it said "cash due at signing" was $2,995 but when presented with this deal, I was told that didn't include fees and other items of $3,000, so cash due at signing would be $5,995 for the online deal, which I did not have. I asked repeatedly what the fees were and the amount but was never told nor was it obvious the salesman was even being honest with me.
He said that they do the low rates online to get people in the door then hit them with this BS about extra fees. Yes, he was the good cop. The manager played bad cop. After 3 hours, exhausted and worn down on a 100 degree day, we decided on a standard lease, which is now what I believe was the plan all along. They started at $599 for 24 months. When I freaked out, the Manager (bad cop) came over to "negotiate" with me. I told him I wanted the deal I reserved online of $178 for 27 months with $2,995 due at signing. He said the same thing about fees but could not (or would not) tell me what fees he was referring to. Ugh. So, they came back with another "offer" for $349 for 36 months with $4,000 down, I said no.
I wanted $299, and we settled at $315 for 36 months with $4,000 down and 12k miles per year. Did I get screwed? Oh yes, I did. Why did I still lease from these guys? The crv is what I wanted. Would I recommend you go to another, more honest Honda dealership next time, oh yes! Avoid this place like the plague and you won't be sorry. I have significant buyers remorse, don't let it happen to you. Now, I will go sit in the corner with my dunce hat on and stare at the ground, highly embarrassed that I got taken.

Went on the website and picked out CRV I wanted to lease and it gives you a full detailed breakdown of the lease including exact money down etc including sales tax. We went to dealership with our quote in hand and our quote was for 3k down and 210 per month including all taxes and fees. We were told we had to get a bunch of options and pay all kinds of fees which on the quote were optional. They worked out a little over 3k extra. They then quoted us 3k down and 390 per month. That's 180 per month extra which at worst should have been 100 per month extra had we wanted the pinstripes and additional warranties etc.
We said we decline the extras. "No you can't", we are told. We said but they are optional but they said not optional to get the deal. Eventually he dropped from 390 to 260 per month. I told him that if they didn't honor the quote that I'm not interested and frankly I couldn't do business with people who operate like this. Thank God I didn't after reading the reviews here. I urge people to read the reviews. If you leave or buy from here you will get screwed. Amazing that they get away with this.

This is the 4th car that I have purchased from Frankie and as long as he is at Planet Honda I will be a customer. He is the consummate professional. I trust him and that is something he won not only with his attitude but after 4 purchases I convinced my wife to leave her Nissan and go with Honda. Frankie made it easy and fast. I hope that Planet Honda understands how lucky they are to have him on their team. The finance guy that took care of us was wonderful also. Quick and a total pro. I believe Dinayaran was his name.

Wow. Let me just say that everyone at Honda was amazing!! Starting with their staff member Aladdin who helped find the perfect car for me. He didn’t rush me, took me out for the test drives, I left feeling as though he was an old friend. I had this preconception that you couldn’t trust dealerships and went in with my guard up. But everyone there was so honest and helpful. The guy from the finance department too I forgot his first name but his last name was **, he was great at explaining everything to me. Upon entering the dealership I was greeted by the salesperson and manager. I was informed that they would be able to give me a “good deal” on a car lease. After negotiating for over an hour we came up with a written agreement. I told them I would be back in a week to sign the papers and pick up the car. When I returned a week later, after driving an hour and a half in the rain, I was told that they were unable to give me the price quoted. They did a credit check, which was excellent, and proceeded to tell me that the rates change weekly. The new rate was $89.00 more per month than was quoted the week before. They lied about the amount and failed to keep their part of the agreement. I would advise anyone entering that dealership to be cautious of their unscrupulous tactics!

Called before arriving at noon on Saturday. Arrived punctual and although very crowded asked for phone contact who greeted me pleasantly and walked me to the used car area. I had identified before coming which vehicle I had interest in. On web, had seen a 2016 Touring CR-V white certified. When I sat down with salesman initials AA he told me somebody was buying the car right now. I took on face value so gleaned other availability and I targeted 2016 EX-L with nav. Thought price was reasonable.
We looked at car and I took for ride. Inspected the car and the backbumper was as if someone removed luggage all scraped up. So I suggested to salesman, "Let's talk." So I asked if I was to pay full price what would be the total: $21,700 plus DMV fees plus document fees plus tax plus $695. I asked what is that. He said options of wheel locks, pinstriping and door guards. Understand they are on the car already so he shows me on computer screen that is what it says. I say, "Ok then remove them and remove the $695." Keep in mind if you do that on 2016 you likely will have shading from pinstriping and door guards. He tells me, "Same price if you want them or not." So how are they options?? So he says, "Ok we will waive." That by the way is a sales trick to make you feel like they gave up something.
We turn to the damaged bumper and I said this must be repaired. AA says the vehicle is certified and as long as metal is not cut it can be certified reminding me that the bumper is plastic. I said to drive off this lot with not repaired makes no sense. AA says, "We can give you a small jar of paint," or they will touch up. I said, "You need to repair." Became pretty obvious they did not want to but for $250 they will. To discuss any further about purchase was useless. I walked out and thanked him. So be careful of fine print. How can they be options if they are already on the car. By the way I reached out to Mr. William Feinstein President to no avail. This dealership does not seem to care.

"I know you lie, your lips are moving" is my experience at Planet Honda. They don't honor their words at all! They even have a different price at the contract than the verbal price and when you complain they say why you didn't read? I dont want to call them names but what do you guys call someone who tell you the car is 10K ok? Ok lets sign the contract and then the contract says it is 14K? Anyways, I really believe in Karma and I'm sure what goes around comes around.

I went to Planet Honda to finance a CRV. I was told that there is a lease to own program that will be a better choice for me if I'm buying the car at the end. I didn't do any research about leasing because I had no intention to lease. Anyways the salesman did the math for me and told me, "Here are the numbers," and then he asked if I would like any additional coverage, I said no but he marked YES on all the paperwork anyways.
When you go to meet the finance lol that's a battle!! They first give you tons of paper to sign and try to rush you to sign. I told him I just need to make sure I'm signing the right papers and he got so mad and he said, "I have other customers to help, you are not the only one in the world who is buying a car." And I found he added 9 K of additional coverages that I said NO to. 9K!!! So I told him that, "I already have told you that I don't want the additional coverage," and he said "that for your own good my friend"!! REALLY? You are treating me like my dad now? So you pay for it. OMG then I said, "I'm not signing. I don't want the optional additional coverage," and he got so pissed. He said "you mentioned you are a student physician, I doubt it because you are not that smart." WHATTT? Guys that place is just a complete scam. Just go somewhere else and remember the attorney general has sued them before for scamming their customers.

Buying a car that involves tens of thousands of dollars is generally not an easy experience. When one going to Dealer, hopes are that you getting more educated so that a better decision can be made. But experience with Planet Honda was bitter. In fact, someone already made me aware of this, but I just ignored that. The salespeople (at least the one I dealt with), the only agenda was - "tell the price you want, if that can be done we will talk further but do not want to talk anything else. I have no interest in understanding your situation, providing more details". Worse, before leaving, when asked to meet the sale rep whom we originally talked, was rejected. When asked to meet the manager, it started becoming rude. Finally met the "manager", which we believe (no way to confirm) was just a friend with same intentions.

He was patient and helpful with my annoying question after question. We drove home that day with a beautiful new Odyssey with all the bells and whistles my kids love. They also have someone to help explain all of the new options and tech features the cars have that are confusing and this made it so easy! I highly recommend Steve and the team at Planet.

I just would like to inform you that I actually did go to the dealership yesterday and unfortunately I had the worst experience ever buying a car. I dealt with the most disrespectful salesperson. His name is Eddie **, I hope that you let the owner know this because he is bad for business, if a customer asks you for a quote I would assume the least he could have done is get me one, even if he knows I am shopping around. But he actually refused once he heard I was shopping around, even though I assured him I am willing to make a deal if it made sense.
In conclusion I am still shopping and I don't think I will consider your dealership and FYI my brother and friend, are also looking to buy a Honda. And thanks to that salesperson you guys have possibly lost 3 deals, once I brought this issue to the manager I wish I got his name, he didn't do anything. It's like they have met their quota and they just really don't care... Avoid this dealer at all cost/they don't care, all those TV ads are just that ads, not worth the hassle. Remember there is a lot of other Honda dealers in the area.

Leased a vehicle three years ago here. Was pressed for time and needed a specific vehicle or I would have walked out during that deal. High pressure for a lease/sale and when all was done, during the financial paperwork a significant amount of screening tactic pressure to buy the warranties. Said clearly we were not interested but kept at the pitch for several rounds, each increasing in the scare/threat. Fast-forward to now, looking to return the vehicle at the end of lease. We wanted to downsize for size of vehicle (no car seats anymore) and cost. They insisted they could make something work at or below what we are paying now. Explained the poor experience we had last time - they insisted all new staff, including the manager. Well, walk in and the same manager is sitting at his desk and again with the tactics.
Top it off, despite being clear that the only way we would get another car was at or below our current payment. Knew it was a tough ask and expected to get another car. The salesman had the nerve to throw his hands up and say "Well, you live in ** town and you can afford more." My wife nearly lost it. Needless to say, we are now driving another make. Now, I am dealing with the headache of the lease return. Can't get anyone to return my call for days and when I did speak with someone today - again with the scare tactics. Never doing business with this dealership again - and likely, not with Honda as a result.

Although he was busy with another family he told us he would be right with us which he was. After talking to us and hearing us out on our situation he proceeded to ask what kind of car we wanted and my mom said she wanted a white CR-V that she viewed outside and he said he would do everything in his power to get us this car or something better.
After he asked for some information from my mom she signed some papers and he came back to us with good news into a CRV that has a lot of things in it that our previous car did not. Although it was not white, it was blue when my mom saw the car and sat inside of it she fell in love was nothing but happy. Walking back into the dealership Mr. ** had asked how the car was and she said it was beautiful and just for her.
She mentioned that he said he was going to do everything in his power to get us out of the dealers with a brand new car and he did. The one place that stood out right from the start was Planet Honda because they were not afraid to quote me a price on the phone, compared to another dealership on Route 22 who kept on insisting they would beat their competitors pricing but refused to quote their own. I'm not sure what pisses me off more, the fact that Planet Honda on Route 22, New Jersey will do ANYTHING for a sale or the fact that I had to give a 1 star rating opposed to no star at all which is what the company deserves. My salesman lied to the lending company regarding my monthly pay just to get an approval. I wanted to lease a vehicle and the manager, Won, told me I was approved, yet he had me sign paperwork for a finance account which I didn't notice until after signing (I should have read the paperwork in its entirety).
I'm Active Duty military and I NEED HELP because of FALSE information the salesman and 2 managers gave me. I now have to go overseas but the company will not take the vehicle back. Honda Financial Services will not allow me to take the vehicle overseas without making 6 advanced monthly payments, and the President of the dealership won't make a phone call on my behalf to get the payment requirement waived. I can't even take the vehicle overseas for my next assignment. This is how HONDA thanks veterans for their service, with no assistance.
I'd rather walk to Syria with an American Flag tied around my neck than do business with Planet Honda of Route 22 in New Jersey or purchase a Honda vehicle ever again. BTW, I haven't even owned this brand new 2015 Honda Accord EX-L V6 for 2 months yet. This has been an unpleasant experience but at least I learned a valuable lesson when it comes to dealing with scum. Advice:
1. Use your cell phone to record and time stamp your conversation with the anyone that works at the dealership.2. Get everything in writing and if they refuse to put it in writing, WALK AWAY.
3. Read everything carefully.
4. Don't go to Route 22 Planet Honda in Union, NJ.

Had I known I would have to pay for an oil change, I would have gone around the corner from my house and instead of waiting over an hour I would wait 20 minutes max! These people paint such a pretty picture for you when you're about to sign the contract. This is the 2nd unpleasant experience I've had with Planet Honda. I don't plan on staying.

Well after being misled by Rafael ** from a $500 monthly payment to a $650 monthly payment! I was told 500 the first day and being that I didn't have the full deposit that day I was able to go home in a 2012 Crosstour and come back 2 days later to bring the remaining balance and finish off my paperwork. So I’m sitting with the very pleasant Levi from finance. And he’s going through the details and says 650. Right away I had him contact Rafael. Which agreed he had said 500 at first.
So at this point I’m ready to blow a gasket and mentioned several times I wanted to cancel and I’m not signing nothing. To make a long story short. This technique of scamming people into "deals" is absurd. Obviously they let me walk away thinking one thing as a happy new driver of a newer vehicle. Yet 2 days later they hit you with different numbers knowing that consumers are liking their new purchase and will majority of the time continue with the process like myself. But I did not settle for 650, instead I walked with a 580 monthly payment which is manageable but insane.
I thought Route 22 Honda was bad; Planet Honda stole the cookies with this 1. Not even Superman in their commercials can save them. Rafael ** lacks communication skills and just uses evasive and manipulative words to distract buyers from the money part of things. Of course it’s all nice and dandy at first trying to convince you to test drive a car without even explaining numbers or running your credit. Once they see your interest level in a car they have got you. ** service was horrible/rude/and at times gave off bad body language after I brought up certain questions pertaining to payments and APR.
After this disaster of day! I figured I would ask for some new Honda carpets or some kind of goodbye gift. So I asked Jaime, I don’t know what’s his role in all of this. I asked Jaime for some kind of "sorry for the inconvenience gift”, and needless to say I walked out of the place with a key chain. I will never ever recommend anyone to any of the Honda dealers on Route 22. Rafael ** gets a thumbs down from me if I can rate this less than a star I would! And I will continue to leave bad ratings for this steal(deal)ership and **. Any questions feel free to contact me! Honda! You have all my info!

I recently released a new Honda civic with them. I was told by Nicoletta and Augy that I would be help with the over mileages I made on my lease. I was contacted by Nicolleta and I had let Nicolleta know that I was coming up to the end of my lease and she had asked me if I was over miles. I let her know that I was. She told me that would help me out to come to the dealer to work it out and she would work out a deal with me. I came in a couple of times to work out deals and every time I let them know I was over miles $674 worth. I went to finally make the deal. I was told in front of witnesses that planet Honda will take over the excess mileage... Made the deal that was in March. Now in June, I'm getting sent to collections regarding the over mileage and now that was in March, I made the deal now in June. I'm getting charged with a bill of $674. I call back my dealer to see whats going on, they will not help me out saying that I signed papers 3 years that I was take the responsibility. I thought the whole thing of me coming back as a loyal customer was for them to help me and why did they.

I had an oil change done at Planet Honda on Saturday, 7/21/07. I had a perfectly operating hood prior to this oil change. On Tuesday night, 7/24/07, I noticed that my hood was ajar. I opened the hood and closed it and it would not slam shut. I called Honda on Wednesday and told them the hood was not closing AFTER my oil change on 7/21/07. They told me to bring it in on Friday morning, 7/27/07, at 8. I was told the cable had broken and it needed to be replaced. I stated that this had only been the case AFTER the oil change. The service attendant had the gall to tell me that I have 100,000 miles and it was a COINCIDENCE that the cable broke at the same time as my oil change. He said this could be from repeated opening and closing of the hood. The hood of the car has definitely NOT been repeatedly opened and closed.
I have had other cars and know that the hood will close correctly for the life of the car - UNLESS you are in an accident or perhaps a mechanic has opened the hood too far. I complained and he said I needed to speak with the manager. The manager insisted the cable broke by itself but would give me 10% off!!! Why would he give me 10% off - if the cable spontaneously broke all by itself. I was charged $200 to my disbelief. I saw an article that Bob Ciasulli does not charge when a repair is not done correctly the first time and a person needs to return. I would doubt he would want someone to pay when Honda themselves broke something and I had to return and sit in the waiting room for 2 and a half hours. I have been a good customer - I bought 2 cars there and other family members have bought cars there. I find it unbelievable that they would want a good customer to pay for something that Honda broke.

This is about Planet Honda and sales manager Shawn ** and their deceptive selling practices. My FICO score is over 800 and I make over 100,000 US dollars annually. This is about what transpired on the evening of 11/17/2005. I agreed to purchase 2006 Accord, VIN # **. The entire amount of the transaction, $17992.16, was approved through my credit union, but because of draft, Mr. ** refused the credit union draft and asked me to finance the WHOLE amount through Honda Credit, which again was approved and I did not have any problem. I did the entire negotiation thru internet and was told to come down to the dealership on 11/15/2005 to sign the paperwork, which my schedule did not allow.
So I was told to put down a deposit of $2500 on credit card, which I was told that once I get there, will be credited back to the card since the whole amount was financed and approved. After we sign the initial paper work and when we were at finance manager Danny ** desk, we were told that my $2500 was a down payment. So I argued that if the whole amount is financed, why I need to put a down payment. So, I was told to talk to Mr. ** and at that time, Mr. ** got very rude even though I was politely trying to ask why I need to put down payment when TWO different banks approved the whole loan. He would not answer the question, instead kept telling me that it was a down payment.
So at that time, I told him that I would cancel the whole deal if he did not credit my credit card. As I was walking to my sales person Tom, Tom said that the money was for to reserve the car, and it is Planet Honda's policy to take 10% down payment from every customer, which I replied that I am asked to put more than 10%, and Tom said, pointing at the Planet Honda's paperwork that it states at least 10% and there is no maximum. At that time, Mr. ** started screaming in front of everybody, "Why is that man still here? I want him to leave." All this time, he had papers in his hand and he was pointing at me. He also kept yelling and screaming that "I am losing MONEY on this deal and I do not want him here." I asked my salesperson about some kind of proof that my 2500 dollars was credited back, and I was told that it will NOT be credited back, and instead I will have to wait for a check. So does this make sense to you?
1) Even though the total amount is financed and approved, a customer MUST PUT AT LEAST 10% DOWN? 2) Why WASTE everybody's time? If you LOSE money, say no from the beginning, rather than waiting until the end then hassle the customer. 3) WHENEVER SALES MANAGER LIKE MR. ** FEELS LIKE IT CAN CANCEL THE DEAL AFTER SIGNED CONTRACTS AND TELL THE CUSTOMER TO GET OUT WITHOUT ANY LEGITIMATE REASON? If Planet Honda really believes in their customer service, fire Shawn **. I am a Pharmacy Manager at one of the Fortune 500 Company and I know what we are taught, even if a customer is wrong, we are trained how to take care of them. Definitely NOT to SCREAM at them, especially when that customer is polite and quite.

We purchased a Honda Civic brand new in 2003. We also purchased a package for oil changes with their service dept. We have taken our car there for all services. Several months ago one of the tires went bad so I purchased two new tires that they put on the front end and the older ones on back. I also had them tint the windows about a month after this at a cost of 200.00 dollars. After I picked up my car I noticed that there were air pockets on all the windows. I took it back, there were three more attempts to tint them correctly... to no avail, the tray in the back window was damaged in this fiasco, which they were aware of.
A few months passed I finally called the service dept. and asked to speak with a manager, the person that answered the phone stated he was a manager (Jeff) and to bring the car in to get fixed, he stated that person who tinted the windows no longer worked for them, and that I might as well get my 30,000 mi service at that time (my mileage was 27,000). I said fine, so when I took my car to drop it off he said "oh you want your 30,000 mi service" I was like DUH... So he stated the cost for the service was 400.00 and some change. I said "whatever" not realizing we had paid for oil changes at the purchase of the car.
When I picked up the car they said "the windows look odd right now but should be fine", they gave me the list of what they said was done for the four hundred and something, I paid the bill and left. Four days later I notice that my wheels had not been rotated like they stated on paper, I know this because of the two new tires I purchased there a few months before were still on the back, so now of course I'm wondering what else they didn't do for my four hundred dollars. I feel this company is deceptive and will take their customers for all they can. Thank you for listening.

I later found out there was a recall on the transmission, and I received my money back. 45,000 miles later my transmission broke again. Now Planet Honda refuses to fix it. This has occurred twice and they just don’t care. Now I can't get to work. I don't know what to do because I don't have the money to fix the car.

I had an agreement to buy a Honda Accord from Planet Honda and gave them a $1,000.00 deposit on a red 2002 model (to hold the car). They sold the car within 3 days of giving the deposit. They sold the car that I had a deposit on, even though I was already approved for a car loan and attempted to set up a meeting to finalize the deal. They told me several different lies as to why the car was sold. To make matters worse they did not return my deposit in a timely manner, and did so only after numerous calls by me to return my money. It took ten days to receive the deposit back (Planet Honda did not start the refund process until at least 5 days after I requested them to do so). Also, Planet Honda cancelled several meetings to finalize the deal (before the car was sold), causing me to have to make numerous adjustments to my work schedule.

My wife, pregnant with our second child, and I had decided it was time to purchase a bigger vehicle. After researching and test driving several vehicles we had decided on the Honda Pilot. That week, Planet Honda (in Golden, CO) ran an advertisement in the Denver Post that stated "PUSH, PULL or TOW YOUR TRADE! MINIMUM $3000 TRADE ALLOWANCE". So we decided to drive down to Golden instead of going to the nearby John Elway Honda dealership. We arrived at the dealer, found a salesman and indicated that we were interested in a Honda Pilot. He indicated that they had five (5) Pilots currently on the lot. Since my wife had yet to drive the vehicle, we decided to take one for a test drive. The vehicle that we test drove had several dealer installed options (incl. sunroof). Upon returning, we started talking to the Salesman about a purchase.
Prior to going to the dealership we had researched pricing on the Pilot on Edmonds.com. So we know that the True Market Value (TMV) of the Pilot was about $750.00 less than MSRP. I also knew, from research on the web, that our Toyota Corolla was worth about $2800 and that dealers were typically paying about $2000. Prior to seeing the Planet Honda newspaper ad, I was shooting for $2750 below MSRP (which incl. the value of the trade). So upon seeing the advertisement, I would have been satisfied with getting the $3K min trade allowance and paying MSRP for a new Pilot. So after talking casually to the salesman we sat down to get to the details. He pulled out a pad of paper and started jotting down numbers. We told him that we were interested in trading our Toyota Corolla. After getting the VIN of our vehicle he disappeared for a while and came back with an offer that was basically MSRP and $500 for our Toyota.
At that point I produced the Denver post ad. He was clearly surprised and even made the comment that they should not have run the ad. I told him that I was willing to pay MSRP for one of their Pilots that did not have any Dealer options along with the minimum trade allowance. He quickly came back with his Sales Mgr. After going back and forth, I finally asked him point blank if they would honor their advertisement. He indicated that they would not. He also mentioned that he would honor the ad if they installed extra dealer options. I told him that I did not want any extra options. He then again indicated that he could not sell me the vehicle at MSRP with the min Trade allowance as advertised. I indicated my disappointment and left the dealership.
We went back to John Elway Honda where we purchased the same exact vehicle the same day. Since John Elway did not have the same Trade in offer, we elected not to trade our vehicle and sell it ourselves. After getting home that day, I filed a complaint with the BBB. I have since gotten a response from the owner of Planet Honda indicating that he had gotten a conflicting story from his Sales mgr claiming that I wanted to purchase a vehicle that included Dealer options at MSRP with the Trade allowance. I indicated to him that I clearly tried to purchase a vehicle without options at MSRP with the Trade In further explaining that if I wasn't serious about purchasing the vehicle, then why would I purchase the exact same vehicle at a different dealer. He then said that if I wanted to buy another vehicle he would now give us the Trade allowance.
I explained to him that he was a little late. I told him that I would be satisfied if he purchased my vehicle outright for $3000. He said he would not be able to do that. I told him that I would continue with my claim through the BBB. I feel as if I was victim to Advertising Fraud and Dishonest Car Salesmen. I'm sure Honda Motor Company would disapprove of this example of business ethics. I plan to let Honda Motor Company know how I feel of the Planet Honda dealership.

Mr. Eugene put me into two cars at the same time, by having me sign a blank contract without me knowing what was going on. Now they are billing me for two cars, one was a lease that I had returned, the other one I was leasing. The lease that I returned back to the dealer was repossessed by Bank of America 5 months later because they did not know the car was there. Now it is on my credit report. I can't apply for thing without being denied, because of the repo.
