Do not rent from them. They advertise their prices low on the website to draw you in but the final costs are way higher than first advertised. There is also little to no communication if you need to submit a claim and you are required to seek out the answers for yourself. The owner of the van I rented also claimed we were responsible for damage to the gas cap which was not the case. The damage that was sustained was likely a result over time and he tried to make it seem like it was our fault. The cost of the claim was over $500, for a gas cap! I agree... This company is horrible and very untrustworthy. Do not rent from them.

I want to review Outdoorsy as a company. My experience with the rental and owner of the rental was fabulous and convenient. Outdoorsy appears to make money on insurance, so after finding out that my own car insurance would be tapped first, I reduced the rental insurance package to the lowest possible. The concierge service seems a hype. How would they help me in the backlands of the Southwest where we were going? As with most rental companies fees are tacked on, it's the way they make their money.
I had trouble with logging into the app multiple times; I had to "reset" my password every time I tried to log in. Luckily we didn't need to contact Outdoorsy while on the road. I chose this company because I was able to check out the rental van before I rented it and developed a good relationship with the owner. Next time I would rent directly from this owner. I chose the company for the extra insurance protection, since my car insurance didn't cover a type C camper van. It was worth the peace of mind even though I've read that others had trouble with their coverage. As with any travel insurance, you have to read the fine print and be persistent when you need reimbursement. It's a dog-eat-dog world in the rental/insurance business. Do your homework before you rent.

Do not use Outdoorsy! We rented an RV in August of 2024 and it was not as advertised. It was wrecked and had several things wrong with it. Outdoorsy did nothing and stated sorry, buyer beware. And the owner is non-responsive.

This is the worse company. Be careful renting anything. They believe the hosts when the host is ripping you off. My word with proof that the host lied, cheated and stole from me and my family. Thinking this was going to be great, and had a great weekend with my family, turned everything in, and then stole my deposit. Outdoorsy let them, and took another $300.00 from me. They are cheats. If I could give them a negative star I would. I wasted 2 months chasing my money. I am your customer outdoorsy you forgot that. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE CHEATS.

Here’s the thing. It’s a platform to make money; we as owners get that (more than renters). But here’s my biggest issue as an owner: Aside from a 25% fee that the platform takes, when my RV has interior damage that I have to pay for out of pocket to fix, Outdoorsy TAKES A CUT FROM OUR DAMAGE DEPOSIT. For example, if something costs $50 to fix, you only end up with $35 after they take a “host fee” on top of what they already took off the bulk of your booking. So you end up losing money when damage occurs to your vehicle (which makes them money), and what makes it even worse, they profit off of your damage. Absolutely disgusting in my opinion. We’re no longer using the site and exploring better options.

Awful experience to rent my RV with this platform, first of all; the whole process is not user-friendly. But the worst thing is that even though the renter paid insurance to cover any damage on the vehicle; one of the tires blew up because the renter hit something on the road. Outdoorsy told me to take care of the damage and file a claim providing the invoice. I followed their instructions and after 1 1/2 months of waiting and calling multiple times, they’d decided to denied the claim and not pay due to that the rv has to hit another vehicle for them to cover. I lost $400. Stay away from Outdoorsy.

We rented an RV in mid-May. When we returned it, my husband dropped it off at the owner’s house, and the owner was not available for walk through. My husband did not take pictures of anything, but we were unconcerned because the trip was uneventful. This was a mistake because not long after my husband returned home, he received a phone call from the owner accusing us of damaging his RV: his front two hubcaps were allegedly missing.
My husband informed the owner that we did not go off-roading, nor did we hit any bumps, so we found it unbelievable that the hubcaps fell off when we had possession of the RV. We suspected the owner might be lying as we had had no walkthrough with him and he could have easily slipped the hubcaps off after we had returned the vehicle. Even still, my husband offered to pay him $200 for hubcaps that we found online, but the owner said he would file a claim with Outdoorsy’s insurance that we had to purchase at rental time. The owner did not file a claim within the time that was allowed before our security deposit was refunded. Later, he filed a claim with an estimate for two hubcaps that was significantly more than $200. He did not provide any evidence that he bought these new hubcaps.
Outdoorsy’s insurance found us not liable for the missing hubcaps as there was no evidence of theft or collision/damage. We agreed with this assessment as we did not feel we lost the hubcaps and were now even more suspicious of the owner. The owner subsequently asked my husband for the money directly, and we said no as we agree with Outdoorsy’s assessment that we were not liable for the alleged loss.
Now, on August 5th (almost 4 months after the rental), my husband received an email from Outdoorsy informing us that the owner wants to charge us additional fees for the hubcaps. We are at a loss as to how a company/owner think they can keep trying to charge fees 4 months after a rental, i.e., after a security deposit was refunded and after a determination that the owner has not proven theft or damage occurred to his vehicle. Imagine a hotel or Airbnb trying to charge damage fees 4 months after your stay and after all charges have been determined to be settled. At a minimum, Outdoorsy needs to establish a time limit for owners to try to collect additional fees. If a security deposit has been returned to a renter, the renter should have the right to assume that the matter is closed to additional “damages”.
After reading all of the reviews with experiences similar to our own, we feel lucky that we were smart enough to cancel our credit card before Outdoorsy charged us any more fees. We feel like we dodged a bullet and would never rent from them again. The system is either intentionally setup so that owners can charge fees at their whim or it’s a severe flaw in their rental system. Either scenario should make buyers beware of this company.

I made a reservation using Outdoorsy with the understanding that I could cancel for a full refund within the first 48 hours of making it. Within the first 24 hours I message the host and told him that I needed to cancel my reservation. He did not get back to me until the next day and then only would say that he got my message. I realized that he had not canceled the reservation however I realized this after the 48 hour window. I am only getting 50% back. The cancellation procedure is very confusing as they tell you to communicate the host. I have tried to get the rest of my money without success. I paid with PayPal and am hoping that they can help. Please beware when using this company. Do not send them money and if you do, don’t expect to see it again. Other people have said the same thing in their reviews. Do not trust this company!

Read the fine print and add about 100% to the published nightly rate before you buy. I tried to rent a vehicle for an advertised $275 a night and the total came to $569! Another came to $851!! "Free cancellation" is a bold faced lie. They still keep $40 even if you cancel within the deadline. Very low mileage limits. No idea how you can rent RVs with 100 miles of daily travel limits before fees. Who rents an RV to drive 50miles away?? Just a shell game to bag more $$$.
Hosts seem to be a mixed bag...one I dealt was extremely responsive and willing to work with me on my reservation, but ultimately his costs were far too high for my trip ($.95c for every mile >100). Another host took a day to respond and when I needed him to contact customer service on behalf of my reservation, I was ghosted. I'm not naive, I understand that "fees" are a way of life these days, but this was rather extreme and made the entire experience feel quite uncomfortable and seedy.

The only thing true about “The Ride RV” through Outdoorsy is that it offers an “unforgettable journey”. We will never forget this one and we will never rent this vehicle again nor work with this host again through Outdoorsy. Between the generator cutting out, the battery not charging, the overall condition and lack of cleanliness of the RV, we’d say that the rudeness of the host claiming “lack of understanding on our part” and then charging us for things we never agreed to, and the dishonesty of the service crew topped the unforgettable journey list for us.
We were lucky to drive to our destination and back with a battery that wouldn’t hold a charge, and a generator that would work intermittently leading us to shut everything off to the back cabin for the entirety of the trip. Add to this over $350 in additional charges for things that we never discussed nor used, and the need for dispute resolution afterwards, it made our experience even worse. Never rent from this company!

JUST STAY AWAY FROM OUTDOORSY! Today is 7/29/24 and I am still dealing with a bogus scam claim from 7/4/24, 25 days later! I have spent several hours over many many days trying to communicate with Outdoorsy and I deeply regret using them. We are experienced campers. We decided to rent an RV this time to make things easy (ha!). We paid about $400 (in addition to rental, insurance, and Outdoorsy fees) to have it delivered and set up.
During our rental over the 4th of July, the power cord + surge protector failed...resulting in a smoking, melted plug. We were left with no power, no A/C, and we are in Texas in the middle of Summer. To our surprise, the the owner filed a damage claim against us which resulted in many headaches and countless hours of wasted time-with no real help from Outdoorsy. In fact, whenever I called, I could only speak with someone in the PHILIPPINES-never the same person, and never a last name. Sometimes someone would respond via email, but would not be available by phone. There was always a promise to escalate, but no follow-through.
We had actually purchased the stationary insurance (also called excess insurance), which we learned that they defer to YOUR PERSONAL AUTO POLICY FIRST. When I went back, I eventually found this in the fine print, but had to click through several pages and links to get to-essentially a rabbit hole. After the owner was told by our insurance company that this was not a qualified claim (and subsequently denied), he then pursued it with the Outdoorsy stationary policy-which was also denied. He told our insurance company that he would pursue it through the security deposit. They then emailed to ask us to approve a charge of $400-to pay for their faulty equipment-even after 2 denials stating that we were not responsible for their equipment failing. We declined.
We cannot get anyone at Outdoorsy to help us with this, though we have reached out via phone and email multiple times. Today we learned that Outdoorsy has charged our card for ANOTHER $750-the original amount of our deposit. After another call and another request to escalate-they are telling us that they have released it. I have yet to confirm that with my CC company, but will need to make sure that all future attempts to charge us will be denied. A side note of the stationary/excess policy-they also add an additional charge for roadside assistance-which you should not need if you are not towing the vehicle. In fact, the policy becomes null and void if you move the camper for any reason on a stationary policy. We would never even think of trusting Outdoorsy again-it's really just a platform, taking a cut, and cheaply outsourcing their customer service. There is no protection and no one to call who can do anything to help.

Scammers... never rent from them. Rent a RV with unlimited mileage... to go from Vancouver to Cali. The owner of Rv somehow called us... threatening us to call the police and asked to pay for a mileage... So we came back, they charged us 2500 more... Thieves... this is fraud.

I've rented my vehicles via Outdoorsy for three years now. On a recent rental, one of my clients had a minor issue with their rental. We discussed and decided a small refund would be best suited to resolve the situation. Outdoorsy instructs you to call them if you would like to refund your client for something other than a cancellation. When I called I was told that Outdoorsy would keep their 25% cut of the refund. That's right, Outdoorsy keeps their 25% "host service fee" even on the amount of money you refund, as the host.
Outdoorsy is not much of a service but provides a great disservice to both the renter, to whom they charge exorbitant fees and force the sale of often redundant insurance products but also the owner, from whom they take a 25% cut, even when the owner didn't ultimately keep those funds. No other platform keeps their fee, especially an exceedingly high one, on money you don't actually net. In this case I wanted to refund my renter $750. Trouble is, Outdoorsy only paid me $562.50. I can't refund money I never received and Outdoorsy refuses to return their $187.50 cut of those funds that, again, are not in my bank account, to the renter. They refuse to explain what they are keeping that $187.50 for and I don't know a soul who could rationalize why that money wouldn't be refunded to the renter.
This wasn't always the case- a few years ago the owner's fees were 20% and Outdoorsy was reasonable to work with. Fast forward to today and the company has started selling their own insurance product to renters (95% of whom don't need it), tacking more fees onto renters, upping their cut of the owner's payout. You would think service might improve with all this extra income Outdoorsy is netting but it's gone downhill. Their smartphone app is bush league and barely functions, customer support is responsive but offers no actual solutions. You only get a real response by posting negative reviews. I see stories online of Outdoorsy asking renters who purchased Outdoorsy's insurance to use their regular insurance anyways and put Outdoorsy in a second position. This is now a company that thinks it can have it both ways and come out on top in every situation.
I would love to see another business disrupt Outdoorsy and provide a quality, peer to peer, platform for rentals. Most renters already have adequate auto insurance that covers their rental. Most owners need little more than a platform/market on which to rent their rigs and a payment processing service that allows for security deposits to be held appropriately. What nobody needs is Outdoorsy in the middle of it all, bilking all parties for every penny they can. As an owner, the fact that they keep a 25% cut of money you don't get paid really says it all though.

Serene ** from Parowan, Utah is dishonest and I highly recommend to stay away from her. She canceled on us on the way to her home to rent a trailer. She really let us down and in a huge lurch!!!! Very unprofessional and she did not even apologize. So bad and embarrassed that she let she double booked us and wouldn’t let us use another trailer because we asked her for a discount and she canceled. I thought by paying a deposit it would secure us to have it. Ugh what a mess.

The worst service ever, they just want money and to back up the host, can’t get a hold of anybody. The RV we rented left my family stranded on the side of the road with 3 tires going bad and 2 of the tires we had to pay out of pocket to replace, the host does not want to refund or respond to any messages as well as Outdoorsy, customer service keeps sending me around to multiple people to contact but no one reaches out and nothing is being done, there are a crapload of 1 stars for a reason, definitely do not use as I will not be using again. I plan to upload a TikTok of proof with receipts of the tire changing, and emails that have been constantly sent but no reply from customer service and as well from the host. Take your money elsewhere. This company is just money hungry.

I'm trying to be a host for 5 days already....I spent 2 hours registering my account, my rv, writing everything in detail, and it got posted when all of sudden the website asked me to login back. I found out my post wasn't up anymore, and my account was blocked. After 24h, I contacted them and they told me they were reviewing my account and that would take 24-48h. I knew nothing from them, so I contacted them again, and they asked me if I verify myself through the email it was sent...yeah, I got an email, but not from Outdoorsy, it looked like a scam.
Yesterday, I finally click the link, I do the verification, and today still nothing. I contacted them today, and now I need to send the registration to their email....good thing I contacted them because if not, I would be still waiting to hear from them. RVShare took me only 10 min to verify everything, but Outdoorsy poor in communication, and if they are like that with a host, I don't want to see what customers have to go through.

I never received the camper and I was charged for it because of a hole in their system. I felt like the staff was extremely unhelpful and unwilling to do anything. I will never use this company again.

It's a platform for scammers. I responded to an ad to rent an RV on the site, after which I got a spoofed email that looked like it came from Outdoorsy. I paid it and never heard from the owner again. Outdoorsy did nothing to compensate me, won't give me the identity of the owner, which they claim to have. Don't go into it thinking that they've vetted the owners, like you would on another site like Airbnb.

Double booked our rental and ruined our honeymoon. Customer support has been a nightmare, I seem to only be talking to people in call centers who are reading scripts. Have done nothing to make this better. Outdoorsy blames the host and the host blames Outdoorsy, just going in circles. Will never use this site again.

I rented a camper van from Outdoorsy. The van was almost brand new so I have no complaints about that. However the van owner turned out to be some kind of Sovereign Citizen who doesn't believe in license plates. I didn't really look or think about it until we had gotten to or site and someone pointed out there were no plates on the van. They were in a storage place on the dash so I duct taped one of the plates to the back. I am surprised we weren't pulled over. The owner later said it wasn't required for the plates to be on the vehicle which is clearly wrong. After the trip Outdoorsy charged me for extra post facto insurance at an obscenely high rate that was never outlined in their contract or terms of service.
After requesting the contract or who their insurer was they never answered and are evading the request. My guess is they self insure and make their real money on that. This is not legal, under my state's law they must insure through a carrier licensed in the state, and they don't seem to be registered. Their cost structure is deliberately opaque and their after trip charges nearly doubled the cost I had already paid. They have a website that is confusing and never spells out exactly what the costs will be. They do not give you paper receipts so I can't post one. Outdoorsy is a very sketchy company. I won't use them again.

First time using Outdoorsy and the last. We rented an RV for a trip and had a horrible experience. The RV pictures were misleading. The pictures were clean, uncluttered, no personal belongings, RV in good condition. Upon arrival, the RV looked several years beyond its stated age. There were personal belongings all through the RV - car seats, magnets, food items, children's toys. Condition of the upholstery was torn (clearly not matching the pictures), not to mention being dirty with sand everywhere on the counters and floor. The RV barely started with a big plume of black smoke and a drive around the cut-de-sac was clear the RV was in poor condition and not properly maintained. We cancelled our reservation immediately, and in speaking with Outdoorsy they told us we needed to work directly with the renter for the refund, and since the reservation was cancelled, there was no ability to leave a review. Outdoorsy did nothing but facilitate a scam.

I keep using this site and every time regret it. I have had multiple bad experiences. Hidden fees, ridiculous cancellation costs that are not clear. Customer service unable to actually help with technical stuff, had to change driver, but they could not, could not change pickup time and the whole reservation was wasted because their "System".

Our family of 6 is planning a 10 day road trip this summer and wanted one vehicle comfortable for us all. I found the perfect vehicle on Outdoorsy, absolutely stunning! We were all so excited. The booking was glitchy and instead of charging a deposit with the reservation I was charged the full $1,300 for the trip that doesn't start for 5 months! I contacted customer service, they fixed it and charged me $757 in Feb. for a Jul. trip, balance later. I never received a confirmation from the vehicle owner, just from Outdoorsy.
A few weeks later my daughter inquired about vehicle features and found out the vehicle was sold a year and a half ago and the owner can't get Outdoorsy to remove it. I contacted customer service to cancel and refund all my money. I was told they won't refund my money unless the vehicle owner verifies my claim. Now the vehicle owner has become unresponsive too. If you try to cancel the reservation on Outdoorsy they keep a service charge of $145. It's a total mess and Outdoorsy accepts no responsibility in validating a reservation, or vehicle availability or promptly refunding my money. For a finish, I'm now disputing the charge with my credit card company under fraud protection. Outdoorsy took my money, won't refund it, for a vehicle that isn't available. These people are scammers! Watch out!

I rented a van on Outdoorsy and despite insurance their support did pretty much nothing to help when we ran into problems. Their resolution was to possibly look for another vehicle which could take a day....I'm genuinely shocked to see my very honest and 3 star review was removed from the Site so they clearly filter them. Most of our trip was good but 4 weeks became 3 weeks when the vehicle had a FORSEEABLE mechanical failure which we spent 2 days addressing and still cut short our holiday. The owner KNEW it was an issue and lied about plans to sell all his units so we didn't blame him too much, he's still in business 2 yrs on.

As you can see by all the other reviewers, we should have started here, and may not have gotten burned. Got stranded in Healy, AK, over 4hrs from Anchorage, with a broken down truck camper and no way to continue our journey, missing 2 nights/3 days of our vacation. Had the best insurance, but it doesn’t cover mechanical failure. The host’s fuel pump went out, and if we didn’t have family to come get us, I’m not sure how we would have made it back. Anyone else would’ve had to dish out hundreds, maybe thousands more to get back on their flight. Do yourself a favor and rent from a reputable RV place. This is not worth even the slightest discount if you lose part of your vacation.

BEWARE!!!! My wife and I rented an RV for the summer because had a trip planned for our family. We booked it probably a month or two in advance and on the morning of the rental we went to pick it up but the thing was filthy. It was not washed, smelled like cat urine, leftover old sauces still in the fridge (that was not cold) and the kid I might add showing us how to work everything said it had just came out of the shop and the best answer he could give was, "I'm not sure!" We asked where the owner was and he said, "We just store it for them." He didn't know anything except it use to be cleaner and nicer than this. The list of headaches goes on and on! We contacted the owner who doesn't even live around there and they were on their vacation, probably with our money of course.
The best of all is that Outdoorsy holds no fault. They don't check up, make sure these people renting RVs have everything ready and working like a legit company should. There was even a checklist not filled out that Outdoorsy provided but they don't care, they got paid. That's why when you get on the website there's pages of crap that basically says we dont care!!!! We got ripped off, over 2 thousand dollars and no one's to blame. We didn't even take the thing it was so nasty and they still charged us full price.... screwed over big time!!!! If you're booking out of Woodlands TX area the trash out RV is "Drive Forester Drive" Unlimited miles!

If you are considering renting your RV through Outdoorsy I wouldn't. In my experience this is a terrible platform. They are unwilling or unable to solve simple problems. Do yourself a favor and use RVesey, I will be using that platform from now on.

I am very disappointed with Outdoorsy. I was supposed to rent a RV on August, 26th 2023. In this very same day, we had the sad news that my son's brain tumor was back and we stayed at SickKids hospital for 43 days. I tried to cancel and get my money back. It was a extreme situation. I recently contacted Outdoorsy, and to my dismay, they conveyed the disheartening news that our reimbursement had not been approved. Not even 50% of cancelation fee. The absence of prior communication on the host part regarding this decision was disappointing. We send the hosts a message on September 25th, where they stated: "Hi Claudia. Let me follow up with Outdoorsy this evening to see what they need on my end to get this taken care of as soon as possible."
The perplexity arises from the incongruence between this statement in September and the subsequent revelation that our reimbursement was not granted. It leaves me questioning the intentions behind your earlier message. If they had already conveyed to Outdoorsy that they should not reimburse us, it raises concerns about transparency and open communication.
I sincerely hope that nobody never has to face with a situation as harrowing as the one my family and I experienced, which was a genuine and unfortunate accident. Having your child hospitalized for 43 days, particularly on the very day we were scheduled to pick up the rented RV, is an extraordinary and challenging circumstance. Regrettably, I must express my disappointment with Outdoorsy, not dealing with this situation as a exceptional one. The insensitivity during this ordeal has left a profound impression, so I caution potential renters to be wary when dealing with Outdoorsy.

I trusted Outdoorsy to rent my RV on their site. I did some research and thought that my RV would be covered in the event that a renter had an accident, both the renter and I would be in good hands with the insurance outdoorsy sells as well as the protection provided. Well, there was an accident and a claim was filed on 9/11. It is not over two weeks and I have yet to speak to the person that is "processing" my claim. When I call, representatives say it is better to email, when I email, no one answers.
I am left completely in the dark and have no idea what is going on or even if their "insurance protection" will actually provide the service the renter paid for. The damages exceed 5,000 and will take weeks to repair but I can't even order parts or anything because Outdoorsy has left me in the dark. The renter paid a security deposit but Outdoorsy is holding onto that as well. Outdoorsy made over 1,000 on this rental alone (in fees) yet I'm the one with a damaged RV and no answers.

I wish we had read these reviews before we rented from Outdoorsy. Initially, things seem to run smoothly with Outdoorsy as well as the host. It turned out to be a nightmare. I would strongly suggest anybody renting from Outdoorsy should do a video walk-through with the owner of the RV before you leave. The owner may appear to be friendly and helpful but they can turn on you as soon as there is an issue and blame you for it when it’s obviously not your fault. We signed the paperwork before leaving trusting that the trailer was in good working condition and safe. Neither were true.
We sent photos of poor maintenance and the text messages where the owner admitted to having prior issues with the problems we experienced. Outdoorsy (after a couple months of back and forth with them) sided with the host. Thankfully we put a hold (highly recommend) on the credit card before we returned the malfunctioning trailer. Immediately on return, Outdoorsy went after our $1000 deposit, for several days, after they said they wouldn’t. Please don’t rent from this company. They allow hosts to rent unsafe RVs and from what we’ve researched seen to side with the host.

I started using Outdoorsy to rent out my travel trailer. I was excited to get my first 7-day booking that would have pocketed me over $500. One big glitch, they use Plaid/Stripe to try and connect to bank for payout. Both of these services are problematic and of course since I was not able to connect my bank account, I was not able to accept the job. The Outdoorsy solution suggested that I try opening an account at a different bank and retry the connection. I bank with a federal institution that is well known! Also be aware that their insurance offered for host protection is poor and I would recommend that you ask your customers to obtain insurance through their own insurance provider and list you on as an interested party (search or ask for Acord). This company should not be in business IMHO.

Do not rent out your RV here - your RV is not protected and terribly underinsured by Outdoorsy. When my RV was returned by a renter with damage that was caused by driving over rough road, Outdoorsy claimed their insurance didn't cover it because there was no accident. Motorhomes are not offroad vehicles and rough terrain caused sufficient vibration and shaking to break the frame and body apart in an area, which lead to breaking the slide mechanism. With $5,500 in damages, Outdoorsy said that insurance didn't cover it. This is a terrible loss that is not made up by the fees earned, not to mention the loss of time and the other rentals I had to cancel due to the repair time. I will never use Outdoorsy again. And renters beware too - you are underinsured and are at risk when you rent here!

We had a funeral memorial to travel to in Redding CA, my mom passed away a few weeks ago. We live in Coeur D Alene, Idaho. We found a local Outdoorsy rental host and booked with that Host. We needed to add an extra day and found that there were problems with the website allowing us to do so. I contacted the Outdoorsy customer service department and they explained to me that I needed to complete a few extra confirmation details, keep in mind this was only two days after the initial deposit of $905.69 and two weeks before rental pickup.
I requested the host to contact me about the issue and the Host blew me off! They didn't answer my question, they said thanks for the rental and asked if needed any help, to just ask, really! I just did. Get this, the answer came back to me just a few minutes after my initial contact with the host in my town of Coeur D Alene Idaho, time-stamped 4 hours after my initial inquiry. I called customer service and they told me that if cancelled two weeks ahead of time it would cost me $200. I will probably never see my $905.69 again. Rent at your own risk!

DO NOT RENT YOUR RV WITH OUTDOORSY. I rented my rv through outdoorsy and a renter destroyed it. Instead of taking responsibility like they said they would originally, they are looking for every single loophole possible to not pay for the damages. I even have them on a recorded line saying they would pay and when I asked for the recording they refused to give it to me. I’ve provided an insane amount of proof, been fighting with them for almost 2 months and still have nothing from them. I will be filing a lawsuit/potentially a class action lawsuit against them too if I this doesn’t get resolved soon.

My experience with Outdoorsy was initially smooth. We rented an RV and had an enjoyable trip. However, our experience turned sour after returning the RV. We did a thorough walkthrough with the owner, and everything seemed fine. The owner even asked us to leave them a review, which we gladly did—a wonderful and appreciative one.
But then, Outdoorsy hit us with an unexpected $600 charge for supposed damages! We were taken aback, as nothing was wrong during our rental. We disputed the charges and went through a back-and-forth email battle with Outdoorsy. Eventually, we managed to get only half of the money back (keep in mind that they take an extra $1000 deposit for future damages).
The most frustrating part is that we contacted Outdoorsy to remove the glowing review we left for the RV owner, as it no longer reflected our experience. Outdoorsy, unfortunately, refused to remove the review. This means that our positive review is still misleading other potential renters who deserve to know the truth. Outdoorsy's review process is deceiving and flawed, enabling hosts to exploit the system. This was not the first time we've felt that a host abused this system. It leaves us questioning the fairness and reliability of the reviews on their platform.
As a caution to others: Outdoorsy requires a $1000 deposit for damages, so be prepared for that. Take detailed pictures before and after your rental to protect yourself from false claims. Do not write a review until you get your full deposit back, as you won't be able to edit or remove it afterward. It is simply unjust and not ethical to refuse someone the right to edit or remove their review, especially when the circumstances have changed. Numerous other review platforms allow such modifications, so it is surprising that Outdoorsy does not offer this basic courtesy. I strongly advise future customers to be cautious when dealing with Outdoorsy. Their deposit and review system needs a serious overhaul to ensure fairness for all parties involved. March 2023 - July 2023 $1019 CAD The company promotes private vehicle owners to rent out but do not provide protection to consumers when there is an issue with the host or the quality of the vehicle that is being rented. The host was extremely rude and Outdoorsy did absolutely nothing to provide any assistance. I rented the use of a camper van for July 2, 2023 to July 7, 2023. The van that I received was not even close to the description given by the website and had significant safety issues.
For one, you will notice the huge crack across the entire windshield along with two big divots where rocks have chipped at the windshield. Though it does not interfere with your line of vision, any rock or stone that hits it next has the potential of breaking the entire windshield while you're diving. 2. There is no rearview mirror in the van so you only need to use the side mirrors which the driver’s side is also cracked. 3. The main door of the van does not open from the inside causing a significant safety concern. If you need to get out of the van you need to climb over the cabinets behind the front seats. 3. When braking you will notice a sound when the brakes are “engaging” according to the host. The steering wheel will also shake significantly. If traveling through the Rockies you will be going down some very steep roads and the brakes and shaking will make anyone uneasy. 4. The van provides no privacy.
The host will provide you with a curtain that you will need to hang up using binder clips. I stayed at several campsites and when the lights are on in the van, you will see right into the inside from both the back windows and the window on the main door. Again making anyone uncomfortable when needing to change or sleep. Other minor issues 1. The van offers no ventilation, therefore you will need to crack the windows open for any type of air to circulate through. 2. There are wires just left scattered on the floor creating a trip hazard. 3. Your drive will not be quiet as there are drafts coming from the windows and doors. 4. The heat/cool work intermittently.
Review of the host: 2 days before my departure the host emailed me to let me know that the main door of the van did not open in front of the inside. I shared with them my concern regarding safety and they assured me that the van would be “fixed” for my arrival. Hours later they submitted a cancellation via “outdoorsy”. I explained to both the host and “outdoorsy” that they have left me the option of not canceling because there were no other rentals for my travel period. I had all my campsites reserved and leaving me with only 48hrs to find an alternative put me in a very bad position of potentially having to spend thousands of dollars more to change my car rental and accommodation, if I was even lucky to be successful and booking anything last minute. “No bad days” has several people running their rental that seem to not have good communication with one another. The day of my arrival my flight was delayed by 2 hrs.
I notified the host 4.5 hours prior to let them know that I would be there at said time. When I landed I was greeted by the host being annoyed because that is not the “time that was agreed upon” When I told the host during my 2nd day of the door “still not” working, they suggested that I interfere with my trip so that I can drive the van back to them 1.5 hrs away so they can see it. Not once did they ask if they could come to me to check it out. The day prior and day of my departure really goes to show the type of host you will be dealing with. My rental agreement stated that I was to drop off the van by 1pm. The day prior I messaged the host to confirm drop off time. They mentioned to me that it would be 9:30 or that they can rent the van for an extra night.
I mentioned that I did not think that was an option because I was told they had a renter that evening and needed the van back by 1pm. They then just responded with “oh yea, we need it back by 9:30”. I told them that the rental agreement stated 1pm. Even with the messages regarding fixing the van door, there was a lot of contradicting going on. The morning of my departure, I was notified that my evening flight was canceled. I made arrangements with the airline to get on an earlier flight. I informed the host that I would have to drop off the van at 10:30 due to the change of flight. The response by the host was, “It does not work that way, you need to drop off the van at either 9:00am or 1:00pm”.
I again explained the situation I was in and that I had no control over the airline canceling my flight and that I needed to take the next available flight home. This was not taken with any ounce of understanding from the host. I understand that this creates an inconvenience to the host but again you would think that there would be some empathy shown by the host and that they would try to accommodate meeting you at the time you can drop off the van. Unfortunately, the conversation escalated to the point that Outdoorsy needed to be contacted and really didn't provide much assistance. The host made me feel so nervous that I would either miss my flight home or that if I just dropped the van off they would report it stolen if they were not there to receive it. Fortunately, the host was there and to say that the exchange was less than pleasant is an understatement.
I was called a “Karen” and that my life must be so miserable because I was inconveniencing them with my situation and not doing as they wanted me to which was, “You have until 9:30am to bring back our van” I informed them I was 2 hrs away and that I messaged them as soon as I got off the phone with the airline. Their response was, “Stop making excuses and start driving” Again, I understand the current situation puts us all in an inconvenient position, however the lack of understanding and mistreatment provided by the “young” host is completely unacceptable. Outdoorsy always took the side of the host. Even when I put a dispute to my credit card, they submitted their contract stating that are not responsible for host vehicles. OK, so you as a company are okay with advertising vehicle that are in poor quality and have significant safety issues. Please do your due diligence before renting a vehicle from this group.

Beware Outdoorsy will reply to this message and say that I was not a customer, this is not true and they are just trying to avoid responsibility and make you think that this review is not genuine. They have been accused of massive manipulation of the Apple App Store rating system and my family and I after our experience believe that this app has a very inflated score and should be rated much lower than it actually is (they have been accused of suppressing negative reviews, hiding problems with the app, and defending owners of RVs and never siding with the customers… Buyer beware) ... On to the story. Outdoorsy is the worst app you could ever use. We rented through them and received an RV with damaged tires we had two separate blowouts and the owners said they would cover the damage after we returned. Mind you, these tires were 16 years old, had sidewall damage, and would never have passed a real inspection.
Outdoorsy has done everything to defend the owners of the RV and have left us responsible for over $600 in repairs that we made to the owners RV in order to get home. The owners are claiming we were responsible even though the blowouts happened on separate axles on separate sides of the vehicle on separate days. The owners were negligent from the very beginning and the spare tire had less than 20 pounds of pressure.
The air conditioner was disgusting. It was filled with filth and it ran at less than half capacity before we repaired it ourselves. The black tank was filled with weeks of human feces from the previous renter. On top of that the owners sent us out in a death trap of an RV with 13 year old tires, Had never been replaced, were bald, and had visible sidewall damage before we left. The owners tried to blame us from the damage from the beginning, saying it was our driving that caused the issue. These Gaslighters couldn’t except responsibility for even the simplest thing with their RV. Outdoorsy never stood behind us. You should expect the same, if you have any issues with your rental you will be screwed do not rent from outdoorsy under any circumstances, just rent from a traditional brick and mortar they will be much more professional.
This venture is receiving a lot of venture funding and it doesn’t deserve to because they aren’t operating at industry standards of customer satisfaction. I attend Harvard Business School and I will be telling everyone about my experience in the coming semester. My family and I took a trip and we were left high and dry by outdoorsy and the owners the entire time. Besides waiting for over 22 hours for service calls and missing two days of our trip, we were left personally responsible for the repairs to two tires that were damaged before we took the RV out, the owner said they were fine and we trusted them assuming that everything would be OK. However this was not the case.
Outdoorsy is so favorable of the owners that you will never get your money from them. Even if they are clearly in the wrong and even if they leave you in the lurch and screw you over. Buyer beware. I would never recommend the service and will be telling everyone to avoid it. Outdoorsy has not made anything right and the owners have left us high and dry. We are out over 600 extra dollars for our rental out of our pocket on top of missing two days of our vacation waiting for repairs that were due to deferred maintenance on the owners negligence. Outdoorsy will invariably respond to this message with an automated response. You can look at their other reviews and they are copied and pasted, there is never any resolution after these messages and do not expect that your issues will be resolved because ours were never resolved and they still have not been resolved. If I could give zero stars out of five I would.

Total ripoff! Do not get sucked into their scam! After 3 weeks of the reservation 3 days before my scheduled trip, the host Sonya ** told me driver verification took 48 hours. Then Outdoorsy required ANOTHER submission of a selfie with license info. Then they requested my passport. Then my insurance info was required by the host. The host said it wasn't needed, outdoorsy is covering it. Back and forth on that without confirmation that we were all set. So 2 days before my trip, the host messaged me that the $1,100 deposit needed to be made. No way am I authorizing that, I cancelled my trip, they scammed me out of 25% of my payment! They took the entire payment upfront. The host was rude with every communication and outdoorsy said, "Fine, cancel, we'll just keep your 25%." I have a screenshot of everything and I'm going straight to my bank to dispute the charge. SCAM.

Just before I completed the booking, I noticed that there was a free 28 hour generator included in my booking. I contacted the host to book more hours, and he said "no to the free advertised amenity" and that I'll have to pay $30/day plus fuel for a generator starting day 1. I called Outdoorsy and explained the issue, and I literally told the guy that this is false advertisement. His answer was: "just cancel the reservation" and then hung up on me. Worst customer service. False advertisement and lots of hidden fees. I am thankful that I caught it before paying.

We rented an RV and this was a horrible experience. The trip itself was ok, but once we returned the RV owners took all our deposit for scratches. I could not believe they took the whole $1,500.00. Outdoorsy is a complete rip off and one should think twice about renting an RV. Outdoorsy will not help and when you call their resolution line, they send you to the Philippines and the person on the other end can do nothing to help you. If you do rent an RV, make sure the deposit is minimal because you will not get it back. Also, when we tried to write a review we could not write one. I think that is due to knowing the reviews will not be positive and they ban bad reviews from their website. HORRIBLE COMPANY!!!!

Outdoorsy has a lot of "default fees" that they hope the customer won't catch. Their website is difficult to navigate and it is hard to figure out the myriad of fees when booking, especially when flipping through several options. Answers from Customer Service are inconsistent when trying to get more info. For example, customers are automatically billed for "Roadside Assistance" even when the vehicle is delivered to a campsite and the customer will never drive it. (In fact, the stationary insurance package is voided if you move the vehicle.) After a lengthy conversation with a polite but powerless Customer Service rep, I found out that it is an automatic fee that I could have had waived IF I had caught it early enough, but if not, I'm out of luck. (We paid almost $1,500 for a $850 RV rental after all of their fees and markups, to give you an idea.)
Unfortunately, Outdoorsy is not transparent about their fees, and it is up to the customer to catch the overcharges. It took me a chat session, an email, and a long phone call to even get the real story on the "Roadside Assistance" charge. The story changed several times and they still refuse to waive the fee. I resorted to filing a dispute with my credit card company and will see what happens. Obviously, we will not use Outdoorsy again.

The experience with my actual rental was good, that's the only reason I give 2 stars. The owner was nice and easy to contact. But Outdoorsy wasted a lot of my time during rental process because too many rental options showed available when they weren't for various legit reasons. The operation is like AirBNB if children ran it. But most importantly use caution when paying for services. Mine was relatively cheap for a 3 night rental at $700. But of that, the owner is getting something South of $300. Aside from fees they offered insurance for exterior damage and a separate one for interior.
I had an awning collapse from the rain, you could argue whether it's my responsibility but that's why I bought the outside damage insurance policy for $200 with a $500 deductible. No brainer, I pay $500 and walk away. BUT they informed me on the 6th day after that it's an excess policy, and that I have to file with my insurance 1st, and do so within 5 days. They claim to review it if my insurance denies the claim. Had I known that I wouldn't have paid the original $200. And I don't know if they would have found another excuse if my insurance denied the claim. So basically the insurance is worthless and I'm sure the same with the inside policy. Just be aware. The other $200 was various fees.

I signed my RV up with Outdoorsy after reading mostly good reviews. The first rental was a struggle as the renters did not understand that they needed to get verified prior to departure. We both were on the phone with the customer support (in India) for hours. They got verified and for days after they already had left my RV still showed not insured. Renters came back and all was good. The renters were charged almost exactly double from what I got paid. The second rental was a disaster. The renter came, signed without any listening or questions and went.
Only 4 days later the rig came back damaged in multiple ways inside and super dirty. When contacting support they said that they are not responsible for interior damage and that the tenant had not selected that option. It had to go to a different division. It took a long time but luckily the damages were within the deposit amount and we got almost all the material cost replaced leaving us only with hours of our own time and a compromised trip of our own.
When I tried to close my account after that experience I found no option on the site so I contacted customer service twice and after a week they confirmed that my account was gone. NO, it was not. They simply took my profile off the site but my account was still there. I had to send an email to another division again to get my account deleted. It felt extremely uncomfortable to have to asked several times to get my info off their platform and not being able to do that myself. I'm happy I pulled out when I did. If you love your RV do NOT rent it on Outdoorsy.

We have rented our RV on Outdoorsy for 2 years and were always told that our RV was protected from damage regardless of the Insurance package purchased by the renters. We had renters that returned from their trip and did extensive interior damage. When confronted they said we sent it out like that, which there was absolutely no way they could have gone anywhere in that condition, plus they signed all the departure papers stating that the damage was not there. They became so verbally abusive and intimidating to the point of feeling unsafe that we just let them walk away.
When we called Outdoorsy to make a claim on the damage we found out the renters declined interior insurance which we never knew was an option. The renters turned it around and made a claim on us with Outdoorsy. Instead of Outdoorsy having our backs, they made us jump through hoops to provide proof that our RV was not what the renters stated it was. We had text messages and pictures from the renters that said they were having a great time. If the RV was so damaged then why were they smiling at the beach and campsite telling us how awesome it was. Outdoorsy continued to ask for more proof then after over a month of going back and forth, they finally sided with us and said that the renters owed us for the damages. By the way, we continued to tell Outdoorsy that they weren't following their own contract because it clearly states if the renters do damage then the renters pay. .
We weren't even asking for the lost income because of the future rent that we lost because the RV was so damaged that it was unable to be functional. The renters refused to pay so Outdoorsy sent us to "mandatory" arbitration. In Outdoorsy contract for Canadians only, which Outdoorsy neglected to tell us, is that if you are Canadians, which we are, then you can opt out of arbitration. The renters discovered that clause and opted out. We had to go to 2 trials and give our statements and send in proof while fully aware that the arbitration never should have happened in the first place. Both trials the renters didn't show up, and our case was dismissed. So now we are 6 months in with Outdoorsy not taking any responsibility for any of this. They have not had our backs, especially if you are Canadian.
This company can not be trusted to follow their own contract as they will make one excuse after another, whenever you tell them that they are not following their own contract. The final straw was when asked why we weren't told about the option to opt out of interior insurance and why they always said "rest assured that your RV is protected no matter what package they choose". Outdoorsy said in an email that the insurance is not for our protection (owners) but to protect their guests (renters). So basically they are lying to the owners that our RV is protected because they are siding with the renters who are able to damage our RV and walk away freely. So what's the point of renters getting insurance when Outdoorsy will just let them trash your RV and not hold them accountable.
Outdoorsy didn't even give us back the renters deposit. Which should have at the very least come back to us because that's what the deposit is for. The renters got their deposit back too. So let me summarize how Outdoorsy works, renters don't need to take insurance, renters can damage your RV, Outdoorsy makes the owners show proof and then win but when renters don't want to pay, Outdoorsy returns their deposit and tells owners "too bad so sad" we aren't here for you and don't care about you. Outdoorsy needs to remember that without the owners of RVs there is no Outdoorsy. They definitely don't have your back especially if you are Canadian. Please stay away from Outdoorsy!!!

It was unseasonably cold during our rental in Live Oak, FL over Christmas 2022. Saturday, the first night we stayed in the RV, there was no heat, and the inside temperature dropped to about 50. We called the owner (Charles **) the next morning and he did finally come to check it out and realized that he had not turned the propane tank on after filling it. The electric heat was not working, which he said he would "have to figure out later." He opened the propane tank and switched the heat source to propane rather than electric. We called him again later about the oven not working, and his response was they don't use it very often and he said we should read the owner's manual. We never did get it to work.
The propane ran out on Christmas Eve night. He did not leave the keys for us, so we had no way to refill the propane tank. We called him on Christmas morning and told him we were going to cut our trip short by one day as the internal temperature had again gotten down below 50. I actually expected (and requested) a partial refund since the RV was uninhabitable due to the cold and we had no option but to give up the last day of our trip. I was absolutely shocked that he withheld $190 of the deposit because we "used up the propane." The contract said nothing about us being responsible for refilling the propane, and he was the one who changed the heat source to the propane because the electric heater wasn't working. It should also have been his responsibility to ensure everything was in working order prior to renting the unit, particularly since we paid extra for delivery and setup, and it was advertised as "turnkey."
I expect sufficient heat/livable indoor climate conditions to be provided as a "cost of doing business" for any lodging, unless specifically stipulated otherwise up front. Bottom line, what was hoped would be a happily memorable family Christmas camping trip turned into a miserable experience, underscored by the addition of insult to injury by the rental owner. He made the decision for us to heat with propane, since his electric heat was not working. Outdoorsy sided with the owner, who refused to consider refunding our full deposit.

I have rented my camper out with Outdoorsy for over a year and in that year my camper has been damaged two from the renters. One of which took 6 months to repair. Communication is extremely slow with their claims department and it seems like you have to re-educate each representative you speak with, system glitches and has issues from the owner app platform, the screening or vetting they handle with their renter was inconsistent. Where I think this is a great concept in theory. Obvious in practice they are not doing it well based on my experience. What is frustrating most is that there are so many positive reviews (which is what I was hoping for in my experience) and in speaking with other outdoorsy owners in the Texas area. They have experienced similar issues. I will call action to those to write their review cause I do not believe it to be ethical or best business practice for a service like this.

Completely dissatisfied with the Outdoorsy web-based service having experienced two cancellations literally hours before start of our Christmas vacation 12/24/2022. The RV that we were able to find, and rent for a fee of $1,309.32was substandard on not safe due to an electrical system that was wired with reversed battery polarity. The backup camera, USB charging ports and electrical outlets within the vehicle are not in working order. Safety equipment was inoperable for the entire rental.
I purchased a replacement deep cell RV battery for $135.13. I returned to the RV and replaced the battery attaching the positive leads to the + terminal and the ground to the – negative terminal. The electrical system did not work, the generator would not start nor would heat come on. I researched and found where the fuse box was located and examined the two 40 amp fuses and found they were both blown. I returned to the auto parts store and purchased a package of 40 amp fuses which cost $5.45 and returned to the RV. I attempted to replace the first fuse and it arched and burn out. I tried a second fuse and the same result. It was then That I read the OEM warning statement “if fuse sparks and burn out, battery polarity is incorrect.”
No RV power in freezing weather. I went back to the battery and disconnected the positive leads (x3 wires) and connected them to the battery negative terminal and connected the RV ground to the battery positive terminal. At this point electrical power was restored. This was about 2 PM in the afternoon. At this time I was able to start the heating system (propane powered) and was able to heat the RV. Given that we departed the next day at 9 AM we were able to utilized heat and some power for 19 hours out of the 4 day entire rental period. Renter beware of the Outdoorsy screening capability.

I rented an RV through Outdoorsy back at the end of August. I previously shared my story and wrote a review regarding the lack of customer service and the company continuing to charge my card for something that should have been charged through a third party insurance of someone who backed into us. We had someone back into us at a gas station, very minor damage but we opened a claim with their insurance. Outdoorsy automatically kept my $500 deposit, and then charged me an extra $1,500 for a deductible which should have never been taken from my account. That should have all been collected from the insurance claim of who backed into us. Anyways, 3 months later and after I took this on as a second full time job, I finally got my $1,500 refunded that should have never been taken out of my account. But here I am, once again for a NEW matter of these crooks charging my card without my permission, now for $2,200...4 months later!
I got an email from Outdoorsy a couple days ago (4 months after the rental) saying "The host has noted that there are additional charges for damages in the amount of $2200" and that the charge would be processed in 48 hours. I got this yesterday, and I clicked the link stating that I do not agree with these charges. What do you know, today I wake up and the $2,200 charge is posted on my credit card, without my permission! They attached the receipt for what I was being charged for, and they're charging me for ROUTINE MAINTENANCE! An oil change, filter, and slide out maintenance? The slide outs never had ANY issues during our rental, everything worked perfectly fine and the RV was fully detailed upon return. So I am absolutely shocked that they are charging me for this!
This company is a bunch of CROOKS, they keep charging me and keep trying to take more money than they should from me and I can't imagine how many other innocent renters are having this happen to them. From the looks of these reviews I'm not the only one. Once they have your CC info they have charged overall an extra $4,500 in total to my card. That is more than DOUBLE of what our total was for the entire rental for a whole week! I have been reading reviews and I am not the only one, it appears this company does this ALL THE TIME and RV owners are charging renters extra for things they shouldn't so they can make upgrades to their RV.
I will NEVER in my life use this company again. The customer service SUCKS, no one wants to help and it takes them MONTHS to refund your money back...if they even do that! So here I am again, sharing my story...and wondering for how many months after my rental will they keep charging my credit card without my permission. I just had to cancel my credit card in hopes that they can no longer charge me any more absurd charges that are not my responsibility. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! You have been warned.!

The camper in tow blew a tire and caused minor cosmetic damage. They would not speak over the phone and only sent an email stating the terms of their contract allowing them to charge the $1500 deductible amount. They also charged another $580 to my card without permission for tire related repair. The owner then claimed that the interior was damaged and not left clean for another $800 until I sent them their own listing picture showing the pre existing damage so they dropped it to $200. Outdoorsy just continued to charge my credit card based on the owner's word. Make sure you take pictures of absolutely everything even if it doesn't look like it would be an issue to cover yourself. I will buy another camper before ever renting again.

Outdoorsy is terrible. I rented a motorhome for a vacation and was surprised with a bill of $3900 for alleged damages. Instead of supporting us they just kept sending emails saying they would charge my credit card without my consent or agreement. Beware of scammers wanting to fix/renew their old rigs on user's expense.

Requested rental of an RV, but owner canceled because he needed more preparation time (this was for a week out), even though the Outdoorsy site indicated that his RV was available. Despite the cancelation, Outdoorsy had already charged my credit card, instead of waiting until the RV owner had confirmed the rental. It took 1½ weeks for my refund to be credited to my card, and this was not an insubstantial amount. If they were an ethical firm they would have waited until the owner confirmed the rental before charging my card.

This company seemed great at first. If things go wrong, initially they seem like all they want to do is help. But they do nothing to make sure the vehicles on their site run well or are even safe. The vehicle I rented had rusted out wheel wells, couldn’t steer well because the steering column joint was being held together with wire. The owner originally said he would give a refund, but then refused.
In the dispute process through Outdoorsy, in spite of the pictures I sent they sided with the owner. Their reason for doing so was because the owner sent them a blurry copy of a safety inspection report. Problem is the year and vin on the inspection wasn’t the same as the vehicle I rented. Outdoorsy did nothing to follow up to make sure the document was legitimate. And they obviously didn’t have anyone look at the photos I sent. CVSE took one look at the photos and said the vehicle shouldn’t be on the road. I sent that info to Outdoorsy, but they’ve done nothing. They offered me a quarter of what I spent for a vehicle that lasted 20km.

Very shady operation. We purchased the "peace of mind" insurance, and it turned out to be anything but. We were charged full $1500 deductible for damage to vehicle, despite clear language that the deductible is $500. We booked the trip thru Adventure KT in El Cajon, insurance was thru Outdoorsy.com. The claim was run thru the owner insurance, not policy we purchased, so likely they pocketed the money we spent for insurance and we were unwittingly bare of insurance for our trip. Outdoorsy was in cahoots with this company to rip us off.

We rented a sleeper van out of Denver and needed to return it early due to mechanical problems so we only used 40% of the original trip duration. Outdoorsy would not refund any of their commission (20% of the original trip cost) or taxes because "that is their process". It did not matter that the van was not functioning per the contracted specifications... I still had to pay for most of the rental.

Recently rented an RV through Outdoorsy.com and found it to be the biggest SCAM company ever! Better hope you don’t have to file a claim as YOU will be left paying the bill regardless of being forced to purchase insurance upfront! Conveniently, the deductible is MORE than the cost of the claim!! No repairs allowed – just FULL REPLACEMENT COST charged to us in the amount of $2331 for a $200 part! BIGGEST SCAM COMPANY ON THE PLANET!!!
