Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting, 991 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. I took my truck in for body work in the beginning of April, it has been three to four weeks and they keep telling me my truck will be ready next week. I have waited almost a month now and they have told me the ovens were not working, it will be another week. Then they told me last week it was ready to paint and they would try to scheduled it in this week. Another week has gone by and now they are telling me it will be ready next week - they are just starting on the body work. I just talked with someone claiming to be the owner's son, and I was told the parts are on back order. I told him I was going to come and get my truck and he told me I would have to pay $ 550.00 because they cut out the part of the lower rocker panel. This company is not honest.

I decided to take my 1990 3500 Chevy Silverado to Maacos in Clearwater off of 49th st in Fl to have it painted. I took it in on the first week of March and spoke to the owner/management and discussed the difference in the paint jobs. I decided on the $700 one. Something simple. I had replaced the bed of the truck and it was two different colors and wanted it paint one color. It would make it look a lot better. I drop it off and waited a few days and then went back to pick it up the day and time they said it would be ready.

When I got there it wasn't even painted. They just started taping it off. I had gotten dropped off. Now it wasn't ready. Had to get a ride home from one of the owners. Was told to come back later that day to pick it up. I did. At first it looked really nice. I like the color of the red they use. It was metalic with a pearl tint. After I started looking I noticed a lot of bubbles in the paint and places they missed and they didn't paint the in side of the tail gate and they said they thought I was putting a guard on it or a liner. I picked the truck up on March 11, 2015. They told me they would fix it but to take it home for it to cure and dry completely then bring it back and they would fix it and paint the other side of the tailgate.

Around April 12, 2015 I took it back for the repaint. By Friday the 10th they said it would be ready but it wasn't. So they told me to call on Monday the 13th. It would be ready. It wasn't. They gave me the same excuse as before that it was a whole lot of truck. But the first time I had it painted it was done in four hours. By this time I was getting upset. Finally by the March 17th it was ready. So went to pick it up. It was not the same color. I specifically said I want it to be the same color not to change it and ask if for sure they had the color wrote down in my file. They said "yes" and I said "great. I don't want to come back and it purple lol."

So the color was wrong. They said they couldn't match it but it was their own paint job. It looked ok but it had a textured look to it and they painted parts of my windows. There was a spot on the back passenger side of the truck that looked like the paint had been peeled back and just laid back over and tried to fix it not so good. There were someone's hand prints in the paint. They told me to bring it back when it drys and they would buff it for me. So I let it set in the sun to bake.

It is now May 4th and I took it to rinse it off from the pollen etc... and whatever has landed or even has touched the car has left a mark on it. The hood looks horrible. Such an inferior paint job. It is still stick and if I touch it with my finger it will leave a print or if I touch it with my finger nail it leave a imprint. A strain of my hair was laying on the truck and it left a mark. I leaned on the car to check the oil and it left the imprint of the wrinkles of my shirt. So so upset. I don't know what to think or do. I want it fix but don't trust them. I want it fixed or my money back, or both.

I took my girlfriend's car into Maaco a few weeks ago with a tight budget. The manager named "lee" told me he could paint her car for $813.00 and wrote down what all was wrong with car that needs fixed and we agreed. The car was done in a week and we picked it up in a hurry (which was our fault) but I had a car done here before and was pretty good so I didn't think they would do a poor job.

We took car home and next day it rained all day and we noticed the paint washing away in little chips on the spoiler and noticed a dent that wasn't there before. We took it back to them and told them the issues and they were rude, telling us it had to have been vandalized and said she must've done something to it. They kept car, charged us $40 more dollars for the new debt and another week in shop but this time get handed touch up paint, scratch in paint on spoiler and two new dents in hood. They gave us our $40 dollars back for the previous dent because of these new dents and thinks that's just fine. We just wanted our car painted properly for the money we spent and they apparently can't do it right. I spent little over $600 on my cavalier to be painted and was a lot better than this $813 dollar paint job. They are refusing refund so I'm reporting them all over including the BBB. I won't stand for this.

I took my 2006 black Eclipse to the MAACO on Carson st. in Lakewood, CA to have a minor dent on the passenger side repaired and have a spoiler installed. I decided to have the whole car repainted black and chose the $799 IC package. The total package price came to $1440. Paid deposit, left car at 8:30 am, they gave me a ride to work - no probs. About 11 am, received a call, the lady who I think is the manager informing me that they couldn't install the spoiler because it doesn't fit my car. No probs. I had dropped it off on a Monday and she said she would call when the car was ready. I went on catching the bus to work Tues-Weds. No problem - she did say it would take a "couple of days". I called Thursday morning to ask if the car would be ready Friday, to determine if I needed to rent a car, as I had clients to visit on Friday & Saturday. She assured me the car would be ready by noon on Friday and that she would call me.

Good thing I followed my instincts and rented the car anyway, because of course, the car wasn't ready. I really don't have a problem with the timing; however, when I did go pick up my car, they still charged me for the same amount as if they installed the spoiler. I asked why I still had a balance reflecting the initial cost rather than making some adjustment, and the clerk responded that they saw some other damage they decided to repair to "bring it up to that amount". My biggest problems are:

    1) They can't produce an itemized receipt of these "other repairs", 2) the manager, of course, wasn't there on Saturday (maybe that was intentional to avoid dispute), 3) my car was covered in some fine black dust that seemed magnetized to the body, 4) my front headlights are scratched up to a cloudy appearance and I know they were perfect taken in 5) there was only one screw holding my license plate and custom frame plus the little chrome screw head cover wasn't even replaced over the one screw; in fact, the one screw in place wasn't even the one that came with the license plate frame kit.

Of course they're not open on Sunday. But Monday I'm going to try to get them to explain the other work and what justifies charging me the same price as if the spoiler had been installed. Yes, I did pay because I needed my car and I dread to think how they would have retaliated if I had refused to pay and left the car there. Am I entitled to an itemized receipt of work done, after the original estimate and shouldn't they have informed me ahead of time, drawn up another contract and readjusted the price and not proceeded with the work until they had my written consent. Because as the receipt reflects that price estimate is with the spoiler installed and the spoiler was returned to me on my front seat.

I took my auto to a private shop to start restoration. That shop sent my car to Maaco without my knowledge or consent. I paid shop number one $2,500 to begin. Shop number one did not pay Maaco. I received a call from an employee of shop number one saying Maaco is auctioning my car. I phoned Maaco, and was told to give them approximately $1,500.00 plus storage charges that day or my car would be auctioned off. Just prior to closing I arrived at Maaco Headquarters shop in South Los Angeles, paid them what they demanded. The work that shop number one contracted Maaco to do was sloppy work. There was over spray on windshield, windows and tires. Maaco left tape on various areas, some parts were not put back on the car and parts were missing.

Phoned Maaco headquarters to speak with someone about my dissatisfaction. I reaffirmed the information they already had and was told their field supervisor would contact me. That has not happened in nine months.

Because the guy forgot to put in the paperwork and my car got totally ignored for a week, On vacation, and that got ruined. The manager was unapologetic and yes, I did go in with a temper. WOULDN'T YOU?! I called their corporate office and gave them the full details and I am to be contacted back. I told the man on the phone “don't give me the same time frame that I was given for my car”...being sarcastic in my voice. They ADVERTISE a 3-5 day turnaround. False advertising in my opinion!! They can't even do the paperwork right. The paper on my dash said I dropped it off on the 10th not the 20th. My next step is the BBB and I KNOW they don't want that negativity on their rating. I don't think this is what the founder of Maaco had in mind when he started this company. I can't speak on all Maaco centers, but the Lawnside center is managed and operated in a very shifty and sleazy manner and it's hurting the brand. I highly suspect that the individuals running that place did not graduate from high school and lack the tools needed to run that place in an efficient or viable fashion. I was warned of this place, and somewhere someone is saying, I told you so.

I own Atlas Cab Company and I've had 8 vehicles painted at this location. I wasn't always 100% satisfied with the paint and body work done to my vehicles, but I felt the price met my budget and the location was convenient. My most recent encounter will be my last for the purpose of giving them my business. I left my Ford Crown Victoria there to be painted taxi yellow. They started on the car 2 weeks later. After 3 weeks they contacted me and told me that the car was ready. On that same day the balance was paid off, but I wasn't ready to take the car yet. The manager told me I could pick it up when I was ready for it.

2 weeks later I returned for the vehicle. I took a walk around the vehicle to inspect it. I immediately noticed a huge dent and scrape mark on my driver's side fender. The car had been hit while it was parked in the lot. I informed the manager of the new damage, but he didn't seem too upset or surprised. He walked out, looked at the car, then he said, "We'll take care of it." 3 weeks passed, and I began to grow concerned when I didn't hear from them. I called and asked the manager for an update. That's when he told me that they weren't going to repair it and that it was my fault, even though I never had possession of the car and it was within their gated property.

The manager never offered any suggestions to fix the problem. Instead his demeanor was rather thuggish, hostile, evasive, and non-professional. When I told him I'd take him to court, he said, "Go ahead, then I'll charge you for storage fees". Like so many others, I had to learn the hard way. I ended up filing a police report with Lawnside Police. Apparently this Maaco location has a long history of documented complaints. I'll be sure to follow up with a complaint with the state department of consumer affairs.

The Maaco in Tri County, Cincinnati, Ohio gave me an estimate on my truck that was in a accident. They were willing to work with me, so I thought. I am a single mother, that works 12 hour shifts and needed my car fixed. I needed two doors and a fender. **, working the front desk, left out things clear as day that needed to be fixed. I was told the sooner I got it there, the quicker it would be ready. I dropped it off Monday March 9, 2015 and was verbally told it would be ready 2-3 days. Days went by and I haven't been called not once to give an update or progress of my vehicle. After returning the rental I had for 4 days, I called them day 5 which was Friday and was told it was not done and that they were waiting on a part.

Monday comes around again and it was still not ready, still was never called and informed. Owner ** was very rude. He told me the part would be delivered and that he did not know when. After rushing me off the phone, he called and left me a message stating where the part was and that I could go pick it up, knowing that I had no transportation. He did not care. The customer service is very poor. It was my worst experience ever with a business as such. I called Tuesday and was told the car was ready and that they called me, which was a lie. I sent someone to pick my car up for me, and was told there was a miscommunication and that the car is not ready.

It has been lies from the moment I dropped my car off, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Wednesday before closing time, I see they were still not going to call, I called and was told the car was ready. I went to pick it up March 18, 2015 and wanted to speak with the manager/owner, and the lady working the desk named ** was being so rude and ignorant. She told me I should have had insurance and was arguing and provoking me in front of other customers. So I thought about it, was me paying out of pocket, rather my insurance paying for it a problem? Why was my car there for 10 days and I was never called and informed of anything about my vehicle? Why was I constantly lied to? I would never have another service through Maaco or recommend anyone. Lying, rude, poor customer service!!!!

I brought my 1990 Mazda Miata to them to get my rear quarter panels fixed for all the rust then to have the car repainted. They were very polite but they ** me over. They don't take the turn signals off. They don't do door jams. Their tape job was hideous - I can still see red. They didn't paint the underside of my car on any bumbers. On the bottom half of both doors there is build up from too much paint and I tried washing my car the day I got it back. After them saying, "Oh I'd only take a week" - took 3 weeks to finish... The front bumper cracked off the paint as if someone hit me. All I did was drive home - I never hit any thing..

When I took it back they tried charging me for it which they missed the gaps between fenders and hood and the quarter panels and trunk... and now I'm taking it back to them for a fourth time. If they do not paint behind the turn signals or fix any of the OVERSPRAY they will surely hear from me in court.. Oh and they don't do prep work because most of the corners are now chipping from the car just sitting. DO NOT GO TO MAACO. AVOID AT ALL COST.

The job that was done was very good, the paint looks absolutely perfect and the body shop guy hooked it up and took out a couple of scuff marks that I had on my bumper, so that was awesome. The reason why I can't give 5 stars is because I hate to have to say it, but there is no other way to look at it, a really nice, not very expensive but nice pocket knife that I keep in my car is gone, and also a pair of pliers that I just bought.

I looked everywhere in my car, I looked everywhere else to make sure I didn't take it out of my car, unfortunately I recall leaving it in the car and now those items are gone. The knife was given to me by a good friend of mine, the pliers were cheap but essential, the unfortunate truth here is that somebody stole those items from me. I was going to come back and give a tip to the guys but since my things were stolen and a couple of issues came about that we're not good pertaining to the transaction, steered me toward a four star instead of a five star review.

I also was told that the car is too old (1990 Mazda MPV) that the sealant paint is not good anymore - that's why it is not covered by the warranty. The sealant should have been replaced before the vehicle was repainted. Maaco offered to repaint the vehicle for $1300 why? I just want the peeling paint to be fixed.

Went to Maaco in Mt View, CA. Paid $1900 for paint job on my 1994 540i BMW black. They had it for a week, went to pick it up and it looked pretty good. Took it home and really checked it out and it had not been wet sanded. I took it back and they wet sanded a small part of the car and I wanted the whole car wet sanded and they told me it was extra $500 for that, so I said ok. When I picked it, it looked pretty good until I washed it. After I washed it all the stuff they put on to hide the swirl marks from buffing showed up. It was swirl marked so bad I would not drive it. I took it back and they said they had a guy at a detail shop could fix it. He had it for a day and it looked ok but as time went on swirl marks came back. All they did was clay bar it to hide their screw up. All said I spent $2500 and they looked worse than when I started. My son finally saved the day. He wrapped my car with a vinyl black metal flake wrap. I will never recommend this place or go there again. They do not know what they are doing.

First, ** was awesome at the 10200 N Lamar Blvd Austin TX Location, he should be the manager. Took my 84 Corvette in to be painted and spoiler installed. Got a call that an additional $300 would be needed for the install, they had to take off the whole bumper. I questioned this to the manager ** (sweet guy) that you could access through the tail lights, his response was he was not going to put his guy in an uncomfortable position, knowing damn well if I said do it they would have gone through the tail lights. Well got the call to come get it. When I got there it looked good except for the runs and pop up bubbles so another week to repaint which I was ok with - it was getting fixed.

Picked it up yesterday 11-19-2014. I had a towel down since no seats and BRAND NEW INTERIOR INSTALLED. I hope you read that. I left work early today to install seats and to my surprise the interior was TRASHED. Are you kidding me? The whole Corvette had ALL new interior installed days before it went to Maaco. I called right away and spoke to ** - I knew this would go nowhere. I told him that the driver’s side was covered in dust or primer or whatever that would not come up after I scrubbed it. The rear hatch carpet had some glue or adhesive or window seal all over it and of course they use no such material. Told him I had pics and not good enough, wanted to see the car. A 3rd drive to N Austin 40 minutes with no seats? I don't think so. Let’s be honest, I would have got there and there would be no responsibility accepted from this guy so I would drive back 40 minutes with no result.

Thank you Maaco, I did fix it. I had to buy FABRIC PAINT FOR MY BRAND NEW INTERIOR for an 84 Corvette - you are AWESOME. I’m not a manager at Maaco but if I was I WOULD PUT PLASTIC DOWN!!!!! I don't expect anything to come off this so I am just going to use the internet to voice my opinion. Also I am active duty so take the Thank our troops appreciation down on Facebook, you don’t even offer a Military discount buddy. I just wanted to let you know that I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and Maaco corporate office. I took my car to a reputable company I expect a good job. I have all my before and after pictures and by the way, you said you don't like to be taken advantage of. On the contrary when you saw that I was a woman alone, you took advantage of me and just thought she won't notice the work. First of all you promise me when I came in that my car will look exactly like the other side and you will never be able to tell the difference. That's not the case. Second of all, you told me it would cost me no more than a two-day rental. That was not the case. It was three days and the work was still not done right and the panel you put on there was bent and already coming apart.

The work was really lousy. I have asked you to repair it and make it look like it's supposed to and you basically keep giving me the runaround. It's not just about the panel, it's the entire job. And when I told you I wasn't going to pay for it until the work is done correctly you said you will not release the car to me. I will do what I need to do to have the job done like you were supposed to, which I already paid for and I will have your company MAACO reimburse that money back to me... This car maybe just a Corolla to you but this is my Mercedes and if I had wanted a Mickey Mouse job done I would have found somebody on the street to do it. Thank you for your time.

If there were negative stars for this Maaco location, I would give them -5, but I can sum it up. Mind you, as I type this review I am still at battle with them. I had an accident with front-end damage. When I called this Chicago southeast location, I immediately asked them do they do mechanic work to repair cars from an accident. They said, "Yes." It's a long story about why I paid out of pocket, but I had insurance and the accident wasn't all my fault. Regardless of that I paid them out of my pocket. All they said the bill was for the repairs both inside and out. I was also told that after my initial estimate that they gave me that day on sight, I would be called about other problems found once they took the car apart.

Well, the lighter part of the disaster, the day I went to pick it up, is that the front bumper repair was crap and the hood is still to this day (now almost two month later) shifted off by an inch or so but that doesn't compare to what was found days after the pick up. I only took the car that day because I had been on vacation and needed it to get back to work. I vowed to return for the front bumper repair again when I had time within a week or so and the manager said "okay" to this. I would deal with them later on the hood issue because I was never told the hood wasn't fitting properly. In fact the only thing I was called about the whole two weeks that they had my car was that the car needed to be straightened out by being put on a rack. That was it. So we already had a problem to further solve but....

FIVE DAYS LATER A LOUD ROARING NOISE COMES FROM MY CAR!!! I ran to see if it needed an oil change badly because of the accident and OMG!!! The oil mechanics were astonished, OIL, OIL, OIL, EVERYWHERE!!! They insisted that I take it back to Maaco if they just finished working on it. I did just that and they kept my car for five days. They supposedly worked on fixing (but again still not totally right) the paint job on the bumper and said they couldn't figure out where this lead was coming from. Well I took it to my mechanic that I usually went to and he thought it was the alternator. He fixed it and I paid him for it. I then thought everything was fine. A week later the terrible noise was back. I went back to my mechanic. He spent hours assessing what could be the problem this time. He said it was that a tube leading to the transmission was broken in half and needed something to cap it off and that the condenser was where the leak was coming from. I immediately went back to the Maaco to tell the same representative this information and he argued with me.

So the true story began to unfold. Maaco did not repair the insides properly at all. When I took the car in to tell the Maaco repair representative about the tube and the condenser, while he argued with me about the condenser being new and that he ordered it himself, he also admitted that he saw the tube was broke when it originally came in there for they did not have it repaired. I then had the dealership of the car to assess the damage for sure and they again said it was the condenser. I sent the car back to Maaco with a printed version of what the dealership found. Maaco supposedly (because I can't trust them at all) put in a new one. But now would you believe, the check engine light is on immediately on pick up from this last repair? Well, they claim they don't know why (again!), and again I had no time to stay.

So back to the dealership on an evening when I could make time and a quick reading on a scanner said there were five problems with my transmission and the car needed to be fully diagnosed to see why. These five readings came up on another quick scan diagnostic from another auto facility. If I were to break down the financial loss I have suffered so far, including multiple long car rentals that I cannot afford, You might want to cry with me. I am even trying to solicit corporate Maaco and this is becoming an issue as well. All I can say is... STAY AWAY FROM MAACO ANYWHERE!!! ! BEYOND ANGRY CHICAGO CUSTOMER.

My vehicle was painted in November of 2013. The basic paint job was done and the paperwork states that I have a 4 year warranty. I dropped my vehicle off on Monday morning September 29th and showed them several places where there were problems with the paint. I requested two additional things to be done; and stated that I would pay for the additions. It was stated; we'll take care of it: no price quote was exchanged.

I was promised they would be finished on Wednesday October 1, two days later. When Wednesday came, I was told it would be Thursday. When Thursday came I was told it would be Friday. This continued to Tuesday the following week, October 7th. I received a call stating that I could pick up my vehicle at 4:00pm. I stated that I could not come by that late. I was told, we can lock the keys in the car and you can pick it up later. I stated that would wait until Wednesday to make sure everything was done that I requested. I was told that the hood had been re-painted and two plastic panels that I requested as extra were done. I asked what about the spoiler wing? The reply was, "you didn't tell me about that". I stated, "yes I did and you explained why it looked that way". I drove to the Maaco center to get a look at what was done. The car was inside a dark room with plastic still on it. I could not see the work done on the car.

The owner asked me to return in the morning (Wednesday, one complete week later than promised). The vehicle was still not completely finished. We discussed the things I requested and the things stated I would pay for. I left and a few minutes passed, the owner called me on my cell phone. He talked about what was done a year ago, sounding upset at me. I stated to him I know what I paid for last year and was not asking for anymore than what I paid for. But stated the extras I wanted done, I would pay for. I had a dropped call on my phone and called him right back. He accused me of hanging up the phone on him and was very rude.

I drove directly back to the Center to find out why he got so upset. It took less than 5 minutes to return. When I arrived there I politely knocked on his office door. Before could get a few words out he stated, "I'm busy, I have other customers to take care of and if I never see in this place again I would be happy." I waited until my vehicle was finished being cleaned and left.

I was recommended to that Maaco Center by one of my brothers. I have recommended that same Maaco Center to many friends. My daughter's vehicle was hit by a driver and I wanted Maaco to do the work on her car. We have other vehicles that could use some body and paint work. NOT AT THE MAACO CENTER in Rock Hill, SC. No paperwork was done. The order number listed below is from the work done in November 2013.

The exterior paint had particularly dust on top with the paint and they said that they paint car but not perfect like dealer or brand new. They didn't removed the light or anything - they cover the window and the tire. Unfortunately my car had a 22 inch and they just cover the front and when they spray the paint they over spray - went under the car and stick on the ring. They also painted the logo of my car and they said that I have to go back to be removed. They also said that they don't use prime - they used sealer and then they paint after that. That’s all. However the car's original paint and body was excellent, just faded. The shop shortly went out of business.

This June a valet driver backed into metal sign and when I took to professionals it was then I found that the car had not been primed. They merely painted over the old paint. On closer inspection there are many unnecessary flaws and one large area on bumper where paint has peeled showing the old paint beneath. They ripped me off. The work was shoddy to say the least. That was back in January, that's when all my nightmares began. The person who painted quit. I saw him, ask him what happened with my car and he told me that the owner of the shop that's told him to use cheap materials on my car, and he quit because he would have to repaint the car all over after I found multiple imperfections. Then someone else try to fix it but cheated more issues because the paint was not matching and I could see the difference from far away. So they keep the car for so many months.

I stop by the shop to see what they had done, and my car was put on the side and collect dust. They were working on other cars but not mine. Of course my mistake was that I paid them in full when I dropped the car. They already got my money so they didn't want to work on my car and every time they have excuses. So told them that was going to pick up the car, and after I put all the interior and glass I brought it back so they can finish it and do the last touch ups. It took me 3 weeks to put it together and I brought it back.

They had gave me an appointment for July 7 so they can start working that day, but my car was sitting outside and no labor was done. And I was so upset that they even left one window open and it rained and my car got wet on my new carpet. And the employee told me that they had other cars that needed to be done because the insurance claims. So I keep waiting and I just decide not to check on them so I would not get more upset. It took them almost 2 more months until they finally call me to tell that the car was ready.

So I went to pick it up on 28 august and I find out they didn't do that much to the car and now were more imperfections than before. Some of the racing stripes were different color and also they didn't polish the car to remove the dusts and paint. I went to tell them and all the employees and the owner walk away. So one of the female secretaries that did not know anything about painting told me that everything was done and that made me so upset and disappointed that I just took the car. I don't want to deal with those people anymore. I should've took the car somewhere else!

Next, there was a 6 inch area that they neglected to sand, therefore the paint chipped off with my finger nail. We took it back the next day and this is what we were told: "sometimes the clear coat comes off easily and sometimes not so much"....we have already paid $1,300.00 for this to be painted and now they want another $240.00 to fix the problem area. After numerous phone calls back and forth to the owner and corporate, we had no choice but to pay the extra.

Now we pick the truck up once again and there is over spray not only all over the rims but all over the inside of the truck which clearly means that a window was open while they were fixing the problem that we had to pay for again because it wasn't done properly the first time. In conclusion....the door handles now match, the problem area is fixed and after days of scrubbing, we managed to get most of the paint off the interior. This was seriously a big pain in the butt and the paint job we received was definitely not worth what we paid. Very disappointed and wouldn't recommend anyone having their vehicle painted there!!

He continued to tell me that he had installed the lights and they looked great. Also he was able to paint a black stripe down the middle like I wanted. I let him know I'd have to pick the car up Friday because I had work Thursday night. When I called Friday, the car was still not done and I had to wait till Saturday. When I called Saturday, ** told me the shop closed at noon but he was staying late to pick up the car and to come around two when I left work. When I got there, the shop was closed and my car was nowhere to be seen. Now Monday was the new deadline. I called Monday furious that each day I was being told another day and finally they said the car was ready....three weeks later.

When I got to Maaco Monday with my father, my car was covered in dust and had a circle on my hood where it looks like a paint can had been sitting. The black stripe he had told me looked great did not even exist nor did the pink lights he said he installed and also said looked great. He showed me the inside of my car where it had been painted and instantly I was furious. Maaco had ripped the leather on my door panel and scratched all my trim on my car. My interior door handles have dents in them from where they incorrectly tried prying off trim. Also paint that was unevenly applied and blotchy. There was pink over spray all over my car and unclean lines all over. They got pink finger prints on my brand new 900 dollar GPS and radio system . My trim around the gauges is still not even attached to my car completely. Also pink paint on my leather interior doors.

** told me to TO GO NEXT DOOR AND BUY A SHARPIE AND CLEAN THE LINES UP MYSELF. After I paid only to get my car finally back and away from this terrible company, I tried to put my car in drive and my dust shield under my shifter was cracked and twisted. I literally had to jerk my car into drive. I told ** I was uncomfortable driving the car in case my car got stuck in gear but he told me it was fine. He ordered a new dust shield and advised me to come back out for a paint clean up and to put in my new shield. Also broken now was my automatic window buttons and steering wheel radio controls.

I immediately called corporate after I left and received a call back later that night. They told me to call back after the shield was reinstalled and I spoke with the manager. The manager was never there nor did he call like corporate said he would. When I got to Maaco days later, I left my car for about four hours specifically to get the shield redone and doors cleaned up. When I picked it up, nothing had been done and they had ordered a dust guard for a standard car. Also they took off the power panel from my car door and left uninstalled. I now have a car with ripped leather, painted leather, busted door handles, broken radio, broken windows, broken shift guard, incorrectly applied parts, and no customer service. I am super mad with the job they did and the fact that my car is absolutely destroyed.

We contracted with MAACO to repair some dents and paint the entire vehicle on our 1965 El Camino. Before we left the car at the shop, the manager and his assistant, my wife and I walked all around the car, inspecting it for what the job required. The manager pointed out some spots on the quarter panel that needed repair and we agreed to add that to the original job order. He never mentioned any damage to the tailgate. When we returned to pick up the completed job, we noticed dents in the tailgate that were not present when we left the vehicle at the shop. There was a horizontal dent, 12 inches long plus 5 small dents. It appeared as though someone had tried to push the car and dented it. We noted on the receipt that the tailgate was not satisfactory and we would return it for repair.

The manager was not present at the time. So, we returned the tailgate 2 days later and asked for a repair and repainting of the tailgate. The manager claimed the dents were there when we left the car. We are positive that is not true and have pictures to prove it; we are sure a worker caused the dents and the manager does not want to take responsibility for it. The manager offered to repair the dents for a charge of $500.00 in addition to what we had already paid. We contacted MAACO Corporate office but they assured us that each shop is individually franchised and they have no control. We contacted BBB; he responded with an assortment of lies. We contacted VISA and disputed a partial amount of the charge. The manager again responded with lies. We then took the tailgate to a different shop, where they repaired and repainted the tailgate. The charge was $708.78 to repair the damage that was caused by MAACO.

I had used Maaco before and never had a problem but this time I had a terrible experience. I dropped off my wife's 2007 Volkswagen Jetta at Maaco in Delray Beach, FL to get the front bumper and both outside mirrors painted. I received a call the next day that the car was finished. I went to pick it up after hours and I noticed the bumper was not painted but touched up. I left the car and went to Maaco the next day and pointed out the issues and the manager agreed that they would redo the job. I received a call 2 days later that the car was done. I went after hours to pick it up and noticed a few issues. I went back again to speak with the manager. They worked on the car again. I received a call that the car was done so I went to pick it up and noticed they did not paint the bottom part of the bumper and there is a spot that is rough and looks like glitter.

I took the car because it had been 7 days and my wife needed it for work. I called Maaco customer service and told them what was going on. I received a call from Maaco in Delray Beach, FL and they told me that because I called customer service I needed to wait for a response and was then told to wait and see if Maaco Corporate was going to paint my bumper. It will get fixed because I have a 3-year warranty. Terrible experience and I would never use them again.

I took my 1995 Celica in to be painted, when I first got it looked okay and for the money I figured... Well it was okay. But as time went on there was a change in the paint. It turned a cloudy color on the hood and then on the top. I did not see it as much on the sides. This was about a year and half later. I got frustrated and just chalked it up to a learning experience. Then I started to hear about a month ago that they had issues during that time frame and they had to redo a lot of the jobs. So I took my car over yesterday and I could only find the estimate on the work. He took that and looked and said it was the package that I purchased. He went inside and printed me off another copy which he explained had the total, etc. on it and he threw my copy of the estimate in the garbage. He did ask me if I had the original. I told him I had not found it yet.

Well the more I thought about it the less it sounded right. So I got to looking and found my original. Well the papers for the most part are the same but when it gets to the paint information, it is missing wording. So I am very upset. I realize as a female that I have been taken advantage of more than once. To me the way it happened just feels shady. Why take my copy and why the missing wording on the paint? He told me they had issues and had to eat a lot of jobs. I paid good money and even had paint peeling on a mirror. He did give me a new estimate to paint it over which is real close to the first job including a clear coat. I have never seen paint cloud and do like this you could not wax it. If anyone has any input or helpful ideas I would greatly appreciate it. You ever get the feeling? Well I have it because of the way things look and have been approached by the company.

In April of 2013, I had my car's bumper painted at Maaco. I was shocked at the cost of over $800 for just a bumper. Justin (Manager) said, "Don't worry, my man (acting like a friend), any problems come back and we fix for free." I said I do not want the paint to flake off like it is doing now. He said he would use a flex additive and this is why the paint cost so much. When I got the car back, it looked fine but the cars fog lights were not working. Justin said, "We are sorry, but are not mechanics and can't fix." I let it slide and had them fixed for $100. I was just happy to get my car back..... Well it is now January 2014 and the paint is flaking off, showing the old paint underneath. My car was not even sanded, no flex additive was used and it looks horrible.

I went to Maaco and spoke to Justin. He said they do not warranty their work and he would repaint for half the cost. I said, "You told me I had a warranty and the paperwork says warranty of 1-year full and 2 years proactive." He then said I hit snow or something. I said I did not and tapped on the bumper. More paint fell off and it cracked more. Do not trust this body shop and do not trust Justin. I called the corporate office at (704) 644-8148 and had a recorded message. I left a voice message and still no call back. I am in my 40's and this is the worst body work I have ever seen in my life. This is the worst type of business, which does not honor the contract or the warranty they give you. Do not use this body shop. Buyer Beware!

They said to me, "What do you want for $300?" I was upset at this attitude. When I took the car home, I found more problems. I waited until the paint was cured and then called Maaco back. They said to bring my car back in, "We will fix it for you". I drove the car to Maaco again. I said, "No hurry, when it's done, call me." It took 2 more weeks to detail and correct the paint.

When I called them they said, "It's done, come and get it." I got a ride there to pick up the car and said, "Where is it?" They said it was outside. I went to the car and it was covered with dirt and dust. I asked them to clean it off so I could see what it looked like. At that point, the car would not start so they tried to boost start it, but it still would not start. Now, mind you, when I took the car to them, I showed them how to start the car and shut it off. They left the ignition on, which burnt up my electrical system, battery, wire harness, lens covers and it was a big mess. I then pushed the car to the hose so they could clean it. The paint job they did still looked terrible.

I was upset, and now could not get the car running for a long while. Finally got it to run, drove it home. When I arrived home, I could not shut the lights off or the ignition. Therefore I disconnected the battery and put the car in the garage under my house, and let it sit until I calmed down. Again, I could not get my car started. I had to have it towed to my mechanic when he became available. He stated that because Maaco left the key on, it caused the wiring to get hot and melt together and short out the electrical system. If I had not disconnected the battery when I got home, it could have caught fire and burnt up and set my house on fire as well. I called Maaco about what they did to my car. They offered to give me $150 back on the paint if that would make me happy. I said I'd get back to them because now we have a lawsuit in small claims.

I was told it was because too much paint was on the car. They agreed to redo the paint job but kept the car about 3 months. The car was to be sanded down to the metal they said. Now a little over a year later, the paint is cracking and peeling worse than the first time. After speaking to the Covina and main office Mgrs, they declined to make the paint job right. They claimed the warranty period had expired. The repainted car was painted the incorrect color from the original. This has caused serious appearance problems with my car.

Sometime after that, I took it for some more body work at another body shop (Sarrel Pain and Body Shop). The gentleman who worked on it this time showed me all of the parts that he removed and replaced. He informed me that the left front fender had never been replaced before and that he was sure that the one he removed was the original. He was willing to, after having over 20 years of experience, give me his absolute certainty that this fender had never been replaced before.

I still have a copy of the Maaco receipt stating that I was charged $269.00 and 2.0 hours of work for this removal and replacement. When I went back to Maaco to plead my case and ask to be reimbursed, they offered me no help and insisted that I bring the actual fender to their shop that I was talking about. I feel as though I have been completely ripped off. They had also charged me for framework, which the other body shop said that I never received as well. Gentlemen, this was not a good experience at your Miami #33186 shop. I have to say your service writer, Mr. **, was very attentive for our business; not so much when we had some legitimate gripes. Some were minor and some damage were done to the vehicle. This particular shop did not seem very professional as some employees didn't know what screwdriver was employed in removing the roof rack rails. The re-installation to be exact. Rails and accessories were laid on the seat rather than the floor, and for sure they were stained. Mr. ** said they would clean it up, to which I replied, "Why dirty them in the first place?" If cleaned, I guess no harm done. As to the rails on the roof, they were broken on both sides (lengthwise rails) in an attempt to remove them. They have to be replaced as water can seep in where the hole was left.

Clearly, it is a sign that they tried to remove them unsuccessfully. The rest of the removal of signs and moldings was a disaster as they broke off the plastic pins that were attached to the car. Not very professional. These employees have not been trained properly because they just seemed lost. Helpful but lost! I know what I'm talking about because my first job out of high school was at an Earl Scheib shop in Yonkers, NY. Back then, seats were covered so when the mechanics sat on them, they wouldn't soil them; plus other minor details that save not only money and time, but make the customer feel like they cared. This job was done with very little care. Please reply as to what action you will take to correct this. I understand that this is probably a franchise, which you have little control of, but this must be taken care of one way or another.

I had taken my 2008 Mazda 3 with a minor bumper damage to Maaco of Roswell. The complaints were: 1. trunk not closing properly, 2. gap between bumper and rear body panel, and 3. internal trunk release not working. I was told that most probably the bumper absorber was damaged and since it was a very slow impact (< 5mph), the rear bar should be fine and not damaged.

The next day, they called and confirmed that it was only the absorber that was damaged and they replaced it; parts and labor, $200. I said fine and authorized the fix. But when I was about to go pick the car up, they called and said that when they pulled the bumper, their guy accidentally started sanding it down to be painted, which was never asked for or authorized. They tried sticking an additional $300 charge on me. I said no, I didn't ask for a paint job. This pissed them off. So when I went to pick the car up after hours, I saw that the bumper was painted, but the original 3 problems that I had noted were not fixed. The trunk still didn't close properly, there was a gap and the internal release didn't work.

So I didn't pick up the car and call them the next working day and asked them what happened since they took my $200 over the phone saying everything is fixed. But now they say, “Oh the body panel is also damaged and that’ll be another 4 hours of labor for $160 additional.” I said, “I don’t authorize any more repair or charges and I’ll come tomorrow and take a look personally.” When I go there, the bumper has been pushed back into place correctly and the manager says, “That’ll be an extra $160 or I can take the bumper out again and damage your car so that it doesn't fit properly.” They literally blackmailed me by saying I can pay the money or they’ll damage my car and give me the pieces to take back. The manager was extremely rude and called me names. I can’t believe these cheats have an A+ rating with BBB. I’m going to see that they are put out of business.

On 8-23-2012, I took my company van over to One Day Paint and Body in Victorville, CA to have it repainted (mind you, the paint was just old). Before I took it over to them, I removed the grill, lights, mirrors, and taillights, and I turned the signal lights off of the van so they wouldn't have to. When I dropped it off, I told them to sand the body good and make sure the paint was laid right; they told me that they would. When they called me two weeks later to say my van was done, it was very cloudy and dark, so I couldn't really see all of the bad work in the paint. The next day was a good and clear day and showed everything in the paint; my hood had bad streaks in it, and the paint was excessively orange peeled. The paint was a blur along with dry spots in the paint, and they sanded part of my business name off of the back windows where they weren't supposed to touch, and they used a black marker to hide their overspray on the black parts of my van, and I got overspray on my chrome wheels and air dam.

When I took the van back and complained, they said, “Bring it back in two weeks and we will repaint it.” So, I did. The second time I got it back, it was just as bad; nothing changed in the paint, but this time, they dented my roof and didn't say anything to me about it. I called their corporate office, and they had a rep come over and look at it. I showed him all of the problems and showed him that they didn't sand it, because the paint was peeling off already. I also showed him the partially sanded name on the back windows and the dents on the roof that they didn't say anything about and how they acted when I called them on it - they just stood there and looked at me like a bunch of idiots and I didn't know what I was talking about. His reply was “What do you want us to do about it? We can repaint it and put Bondo in your roof to fix it.” I told him it didn't have dents in the roof and I don't want a load of Bondo in it. I told him they had two chances to do it right, just refund me my money, and reimburse me for the dents and name on the van.

I also told the rep that they charged me for a color change, the van was painted the same factory color that it was, and that they changed my warranty from three years to one year on the paint job; no reply from him on this matter and then he left. The rep called me a week later and told me to go have my van repainted somewhere else and then he will refund my money. I told him, “Fine, are you going to reimburse me for having my company name redone and the extra I will have to spend to have the dents in the roof fixed right?” He told me no, and “to prove we dented your roof and sanded your name off of the van,” and I should be happy with the paint job because it looks better than it did. He got belligerent with me on the phone when I told him, “Then, I will just sue you people.” There's much more, but the list is too long.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received at the Menomonee Falls Center M2407. 13306 W. Silver Spring Road Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin 53051 Phone:(262)783-5447. On 9/15/12, I delivered a brand-new tailgate to have it painted. The tailgate was still boxed, in fact double boxed. The manager told me that they would have to open the box and inspect the tailgate to ensure that the tailgate matched my 2008 Ford F150. A worker unpacked and inspected the tailgate and said everything was good to go. He offered to take the packaging and throw it out for me at which time I told him only if he is 100% sure the tailgate was okay. He said yes and took the packaging. The manager said I would have the tailgate back in a day or two. I also received a quote to have damage repaired on a 2005 Ford Five Hundred.

On 9/17/12, I dropped off this car to have it repaired and painted. On 9/21/12, my wife and I stopped by to pick up the tailgate and car. A worker drove the truck to the rear of the building where he installed the tailgate. When he pulled up to the front of the building, I was shocked to see two large dents in the newly painted tailgate, at which time the worker said, "just don't touch it with your hand and you won't notice it." I told him that was a new tailgate and that I could see the dents from 25 feet away. I went back inside to show the on-duty manager. He came outside, looked at the dented tailgate, shrugged his head, and said, "We will make it right for you."

I left the tailgate with them. A day later, I received a call from the manager. His first words to me were, "the tailgate was damaged before we painted it." For 15 minutes we went back and forth. The bottom line is the tailgate was delivered new, inspected and okayed by his staff, and damaged while in their care. Frustrated, I finally told him to call me back when he was ready to make things right. There was no call from him on Monday, no call from him on Tuesday. Finally, I called him at which time he said they were going to repair and paint the tailgate. Well, yesterday I picked up the tailgate. Hoping this was the end of this ordeal, I now found that the sides and inside of the tailgate were not painted with the final coat, and that the surface of the tailgate has specs of dirt embedded in the paint. As for my Ford Five Hundred, they left a section inside of the door jamb painted only with primer and did not paint it with the finish coat.

The quality of the work performed on my two vehicles was sub-par to say the least. Not only was I accused of delivering a damaged tailgate, but the whole experience had convinced me not to take either the tailgate or the car back to have them fix what they should have done right the first time. I will never use Maaco again and I will be sure to discourage family and friends to patronize this location as they are completely inept.

I bought a car from a dealership on Saturday, September 22nd. I took this car to Maaco in Hamden, CT on Tuesday, September 25th, to have a specific design painted on it. When I went to pick up the car that same day, there were numerous paint smudges throughout the car that weren't supposed to be there. I informed the manager ** that I couldn't take the car in those conditions. He told me to come back in an hour and that they would take care of the problem. Upon my return, it was already getting dark outside and I didn't see how bad the car was. The next morning, Wednesday, September 26th, during daylight it was obvious the amount of smudges and paint all over the car, including the driver's side seat, mirrors, windows, inside the side panels, and even on the car keys. Besides the damage done by the paint, they had tried to buff some of the other paint off and ended up ruining the original paint on the car.

I was furious to see how this company had destroyed my new car. I called the store and talked to ** who didn't believe me and asked me to take the car there so that he could see for himself. When I got there, I met with ** and after his inspection, he said he could try to take care of it on Monday. At that point, I informed him that I didn't want anything to do with this company and that I wanted a full refund so that I could use that money to pay for all the damages that they had done. **, being only the manager, could not authorize the refund and called the owner Tony Dandonoli. Tony walked around the car, completely ignored me, and then told ** that they could try to take care of it on Monday.

At that point, I introduced myself to Tony and demanded a full refund. He smiled and told me that was not an option and that my only option was to leave it there again. I couldn't conceive how someone could care so little about someone else’s property. Knowing well what they had done the first time I left it there, I refused to leave it again. Tony smiled, reiterated that was my only option, and walked away. I paid a total of $430.00 for this "job"; so far, the re-upholstery for the driver's side chair is going to cost $180.00. I still don't know how much the paint removal and body work to the areas that they buffed is going to cost, but I'm sure it is going to be more than what I paid for them to destroy my new car.

In January of this year, I brought my car in for minor body repairs and a full paint job. When I picked up my car, I noticed excess paint on the trims, tires and moldings. I pointed and explained to the owner, Mr. Craig Roseen that my car looked terrible and expressed my dissatisfaction. In turn, he agreed, blamed his workers, and asked me to bring it back for corrections. For the last four months I have been trying to resolve this issue to no avail! I have verbally communicated the problems, wrote letters, took pictures, and even made a drawing of my car specifying all the problems areas.

Every time I brought my car in, I received it back worse. First, they took too much paint off using paint remover. MAACO’s workers damaged the buttons inside my car and black trims along the windows. When I brought it back again, they kept my car for days; only to get it back much worse! They had to repaint certain parts of my car over and the paint color did not match. In addition, there were bubbles on the paint and this time, they painted my rear view mirrors and windows as well. Again, I took it back, this time they attempted to remove the paint with a blade and damaged my trims even more in the process and still did not remove the excess paint.

The last time I brought my car in, I told Mrs. Roseen, this would be the last time and if I was still dissatisfied, I would have to ask for full reimbursement and compensation for damages. Mrs. Roseen promised me it would be completely finished in one hour. I told her I could not afford to wait longer and asked if I should just return? Mrs. Roseen said, “No, must be today only!” I ended up waiting over two and a half hours only to discover that MAACO did absolutely nothing to my car. They made me wait, knowing I could not do so due to a pending family emergency. While waiting for my car, Mrs. Roseen yelled at me, humiliating me in front of potential customers. As a result, I ended up in the emergency room with severe anxiety.

I’m highly upset and need help resolving this matter immediately. I have conducted business with MAACO in the past and know they are capable of producing quality work. I fail to understand why I have received this unprofessional treatment now. I am exhausted trying to reason with MAACO for the last four months. It is painfully clear MAACO has made a mockery out of me! MAACO has no intentions of taking responsibility for their sloppy workmanship and/or damages done to my car. The paint looks terrible and it has depreciated the value of my car. The point of bringing my car to MAACO was to make it look beautiful.

I am now requesting full reimbursement in addition to compensation for the damages, totaling $1,000. Please keep in mind, I have not included time lost from work and the sheer pain and aggravation this whole situation has caused me! Thank you for your time and consideration. I sincerely hope you can help me with this serious matter. I have many pictures but cannot send them here; if you would like a copy, I would be happy to submit them. Please let me know. Again, thank you for your time and consideration.

Well, I had Maaco repaint my Del Sol and gradually by the 3rd week after, fish eyes were appearing over the entire vehicle. Granted, I did not get the most expensive paint job they offered but a $580, two coats of enamel with UV was a special at that time and seemed reasonable so I had it done. When I returned to the shop to ask how they were going to handle fixing the issue of the obvious fish eye condition or contamination of paint/equipment/poor preparation, well say, I got a response that Maaco Corporate is not going to relish, "Oh yeah, that's dirt under the surface but mostly on the surface. It will go away when you wax the car." I said, "So I paid you to paint the car and this is unacceptable. This is poor workmanship and it will not go away by waxing. Contamination in your paint or painting area caused this and I am concerned that a year from now this will blister. You need to sand it down, clean and prep again and repaint."

Well folks, listen to this response I got from the sales manager, "No sense doing that because the same thing will happen again. I keep the shop as clean as I can but there is dirt in there and that's all there is to it. What can I do? Isolate cars in a closed off area? Not going to happen. I can charge you for a more expensive paint job with clear coat." This has got to be the #1 public relations/customer service blunder in Maaco's history. There will be more to this story as soon as I figure who to contact in upper management.

I was in a minor car accident. I went to Maaco to have it fixed in addition to a new paint job as well. Now since day one, everything went wrong. They lied and said they started my car when they never did. I drove passed several times as well as my friend who lives a block away. My car was still parked in the same spot untouched. Finally, after attempting to fix it and claiming they couldn't fit anything on the car or put any of the colors I wanted, they trash-talked to my friend. (They didn't know he was a friend.)

Then after getting my car back, I was upset with the outcome. It's a two-month wait with no car. I was upset that there were air bubbles that he told me they're natural as well as scratches, and the paint looked so dull. Now less then 6 months later, my paint is chipping and falling off! I went back to talk to him, and he offered to repaint the problem areas (which I feel like the entire car is).

I have a 5-year warranty as well. My issue is I want my money back to go somewhere else. They took 2 months last time. I have two jobs to get to now. I'm 20. I can't get a rental anywhere, and I have no way to get to both jobs on time without a car. I'm afraid that my car will start to rust, and I forgot to mention the paint on my interior that I scrubbed for days! So now, they want me to trust them with my car again. I have no transportation, and even if they can get me a rental, which they never offered after their mess up! They won't take out the bubbles because they're natural. I got a second opinion and was told very differently! Now I have no idea what to do after spending 1,000s of dollars there.

I took my 2004 Ford F-150 to this shop at the end of February to have some peeling paint repaired. The peeling was occurring on the bed sides around the wheel arch on both sides. I was told by Jared, the manager, that the entire bed side would need to be painted because once you peel the paint off the wheel arch it would, in his words, get into the bed side and the entire thing would have to be painted.

After the job was completed, the paint on the driver's side bed side about 1-2 inches above the wheel arch immediately began to bubble. This condition did not exist before this shop painted the truck. I brought the truck back and Jared agreed to fix it and did at no cost. Now we are about three weeks from that date and the paint is once again bubbling off in the same spot. When I called to make Jared aware of the situation, he informed me that he would fix it but I would be expected to pay for the repair to the body. Again, the factory paint was not bubbled or peeling in this area. It is their paint job that is bubbling off. Why would I be expected to pay for a repair to area that did not require repair until their shop worked on the truck? And if there was a body problem, why was I not made aware of it at the time of the first repair? The bottom line is this condition did not exist before I came to this Maaco and now I am expected to pay to fix it.

I'm not a body shop guy so I trusted their crew to do a good job and fix the paint on this truck. What I got instead was a manager telling me that all we talked about was, "A cheap paint job so you can trade the truck in." While my plan is to trade the truck in, that is no excuse for substandard workmanship. Now I have a truck with bubbling paint that will undoubtedly be noticed by a trade in manager and I'm sure be used against me in valuing the vehicle. After emailing the shop's owner with no response, I called back to set a meeting with someone to look at the faulty paint job again and see if they would stand behind their work.

This time I met with Jeremy **, the sales manager. He explained to me that the problem on the driver's side was with the design Ford uses on their beds. The bubbling is happening in an area where two panels come together and hold moisture and that's what is causing the paint to bubble and the rust to come through just three weeks after the original paint job was applied. He did admit the shop did a poor job on the passenger side wheel arch since you can still see where the old paint was peeling and was just painted over. However, he never offered to fix that either. I question the competency of the crew at this Maaco. If the body was in a condition that the metal needed to be replaced for the paint job to actually stick to the vehicle, why wasn't I made aware of that from the beginning? Now I have a vehicle I spent $650+ to fix the paint and it didn't even last three weeks. I will never use this facility again and will do my best to see that people I know does either.

This is my first review on yelp due to the completely faulty and incompetent work I received on my automobile. I would like to preface this story with the fact that this was a brand new BMW X5. It was brand new that was depreciated in value ($10,000) due to sheer negligence and disregard for another individual's property. The painters did not follow painting protocol and did not wrap up our brand new rims (valued $5-6k) or wheels. Neither did they wrap up our interior. As a result, there was white paint inside the chrome rims and on the black leather interior. There were puncture marks (4 in total) on the back seat of the vehicle and white fingerprints on the leather interior and windows. And that's not even mentioning the paint job! They did not spend any time prepping the vehicle (taping off the plastic from the paint). And they painted over everything, including plastic rubber areas that were supposed to remain black! To top it off, they used sharpie to color shade in portions of the vehicle that they got oversprayed on.

What kind of incapable, obtuse, and asinine workers do they hire? I could have hired better and harder working individuals at the local Home Depot! Anyway, I could go on with this pointless rant, as the issues I mentioned have not even scratched the surface of what happened to my vehicle. The point is that you should never do your business with them. We are ensuing in a lawsuit against them. It will certainly be a long one after our contact with their corporate office. Once again, can I say that they are incompetent? Please do not do business with them as it will be a waste of your money and time.

On 8-12 -2010, I took my car down to Maaco to get my bumper repaired. I was give an estimate of $ 150.00 dollars to repair my back bumper. Troy from Maaco gave me the quote. I then asked about my hood, my right and left fender and roof top. I asked, "How much would they charge me to paint these areas?" I was given an additional quote of $350.00. I agreed to Troys estimate. In addition, Troy told me that they would have my car ready in three days. I left a deposit of $200.00 dollars. On 8-19-2010, I returned to pick up my car. I was approached by Troy and his co-worker. I was told that they lost money on my car. I was told these exact words.

Troy felt I should have told him that my car required a third stage paint. He was slightly hostile toward me; I asked what is a third stage paint. I left Macco very upset because I was accused of taking advantage on them. Once I got home, I looked over the car really good. I seen that the hood was never painted. Someone had polished the car. I drove back over to Maaco and I pointed the situation out to Troy. I was told to bring the car back on Thursday the 26th.

I called on Thursday, and I was told to bring the car back on 8-30-2010 which is a Monday. I asked Troy long did he need to paint my hood and I told him about the back bumper defect. I was told to leave my car again for another three days.

On 9-2-2010, I had my spouse to call and see if the car is ready. Troy told us to pick the car up at 15:00 hours. I arrive slightly after 15:00 hours. The heat temperature was over 96 degrees. The workers at Maaco had a large dog running around their shop. This dog had no lease. So I ended up sitting in our truck in the heated temperatures because I didn't trust the employees dog. Jack should not be running around the Maaco shop causing customers fear.

At about 1630, I leave Maaco and I asked Troy if the bumper was fixed. He said the bumper was fine. He told me Maaco gave a five year warranty on there paint jobs, so I left dissatisfied because the defective area on my bumper was never fixed. I have witness unprofessional behavior from three of Maaco employees. Maaco has employees that cheat, if the employee makes a mistake than the actual mistake is the costumers fault. The customer is given a hard time and I don't know how Maaco stays in business. I felt I was treated like a thief.

I was taken advantage of; it took several weeks to paint my car. I paid $500.00 dollars because this is what I was told. I had to pay on 8-12-2010. Troy wrote my estimate and we both agreed on the price. I see defeats in a certain area of my bumper but that's my problem because Maaco did not make any money on the deal to let Troy tell the story. I really hope that if someone reads this story that they will tell others to stay away from Maaco. Maaco wont stand by any written estimates given to customers.

On April 1, 2010, I took my 1994 Honda Civic ex coupe in for a paint job and some body work. I paid for one of the better paint jobs they offer, the plus 3. I also had some body work done to certain parts of the car. I was to have some holes filled in my trunk hatch from a wing I had removed. The hood was to be aligned and the right door and quarter panel were to be rid of dents. When I got my car back, there is still a rather big dent on the top of my door that they missed, there was over spray all over the car including my door jams, inside my trunk, under my hood, all over my exhaust tip and muffler, and over my keyholes.

They also painted the weather stripping on my door, the drip railing on my roof and the plastic door panel along my window. I have pictures if you'd like a little bit more clarity. Anyway, all that stuff can't possibly be fixed. It's all rubber and plastic. None of it was supposed to be painted. I told the sales guy who helped me, David, and he made me leave the car another day to "get all the paint off" but when I got back the next day he had just painted over all the green metallic color that my car was painted with a black color to make it look like it was supposed to. They didn't even do a good job of that as there is still green showing through. The paint is already spreading from the heat of the rubber and plastic. There is also dripping on the left side of the front bumper and a piece of paint on the trunk hatch has already chipped.

I asked him why they had done such a poor job on the masking of all my weather stripping and body parts and why he painted parts of my car that were never supposed to be painted and he said that they are "not a body shop" and that they are a "production shop." He started giving me attitude like it was my fault that they had done such a shoddy job after I had paid them 900 dollars for it to be how he told me. I told him I was going to report him and his shop and he just threatened me, saying I was going to have to pay full price to get them to repaint it. I then left.

All my weather stripping is ruined by being painted. I'd have to get new panels for my doors that are now painted a gloss black color when they were just supposed to be plastic. I have to somehow get all the overs pray off the side moldings on my door. iId have to repaint over all the over spray in my trunk, under my hood, and in both of my door jams. I pretty much would have to repaint my car from the drip marks, the chip in the paint on my trunk, and other imperfections in the other panels.

On October 13, 2008, I brought my 03 Avalanche in on a bumper special that Maaco had advertised which was $99 per bumper. I should have known there would be a problem, because before I even had the vehicle in front of the shop, they said, "We do not cover SUVs or offer a lifetime warranty" which the commercial advertised. So I contacted corporate and spoke with Sonia Bohmann who assured me that this was not the Maaco way; however if additional body work was required...it would be extra. So, I, being a reasonable person, understood the extra costs involved and contacted the body shop to find out the exact cost to complete the bumpers the right way. I spoke with Irvan ** who said, "To do the bumpers the right way with a lifetime warranty, would be $650." So I accepted. He sent me an estimate in writing. I accepted, signed and faxed back.

Four hours later Mr. ** contacted me back and said, "Do you want your vehicle repaired the right way, or the perfect way?" I said, 'How many right ways are there? (I was frustrated to say the least)." I am not one to negotiate prices especially once I receive a written estimate... I expect the company to honor it. So after back and forth negotiating and having to write three letters to corporate and the body shop, I was contacted by corporate and advised by the CEO, Sonia Bohmann, that the body shop was NOT going to honor their estimate and asked that I go and retrieve the vehicle.

Note: I did Google the Maaco name prior to taking the vehicle to this location (being a cautious consumer), however did not find many negative reports.... However the lack of professionalism, false and misleading conduct, corporate has stated that this is NOT the Maaco way that each shop was individually owned and franchised. I truly believe that this shop was and is not capable of handling the requirements set forth by Maaco. Buyer BEWARE. This shop is very wishy-washy, and changed their estimates three times. Then ultimately declined because they were not qualified to complete the task.

On September 29, 2008, I took my car to have damage repaired on the passenger side of my vehicle which included replacing both doors on the passenger side. I was contacted by Maaco, providing update phone calls on the work being performed on my vehicle throughout the following week and lastly on the 8th of September. On September 10, 2008 around 2pm, a message was left on my voicemail stating that my car was ready for pick-up. I was unable to pick up my vehicle due to a surgery I had scheduled for that day. On the 11th of September, My Father and Sister took me to Maaco to make the final payment on my vehicle and to drive my vehicle home because I was unable to.

While my father and I were looking over the vehicle, we noticed that the doors were unlocked and that the vehicle was parked further out than the rest of the vehicles but thought nothing of it. The body of the vehicle seemed to be okay. While we were looking at the vehicle, Percy, the manager, came out to greet us and walked us in to make the final transaction. While on our way into the office, Percy told me that one of the mechanics had dropped the remote and that it opened up. I didn't see this as a problem because the remote had been dropped before and can easily be put back together. When I received the remote, it was open and all of the pieces were taped together.

After making the final payment, My sister and I went to start my vehicle and the vehicle wouldn't start. I then removed the tape from the remote and put it back together and tried using the remote to lock and unlock the doors. The remote worked fine but the car was not responding. That's when I noticed that something had gone wrong. I know from experience with my vehicle that when I normally press the lock button, the air horns would sound. This time, nothing happened. Percy then called over one of the "mechanics" who supposedly has experience with alarms to take a look at it to see if he could fix the problem. After fooling around under the vehicle, he then went under the hood of the vehicle and checked all of the fuses and said that they were fine. He then hooked up a jumper pack to see if that would help the car to start, but that didn't help. It did however allow the lights to come on in the vehicle.

The "mechanic" then took a long flathead screwdriver and hit a switch under the hood that would "surely" make the car start but my vehicle didn't start. He then told me that it was my alarm that was keeping the vehicle from starting. My kill switch had been activated. Percy then assured me that he would have some guys come out from an alarm company to check out the car to see if it could be fixed. I had called numerous times to check on the status of my vehicle and one day when I spoke to Percy, he stated that Maaco would not fix the problem because my alarm system was a "after market alarm". He stated that I would have to take on all financial responsibility.

When I complained, he stated that if I were to pay half then he would cover the other half. I told him that that was unacceptable and that my vehicle (besides the body damage) was fine when I bought it in and that I should have received my vehicle back in that same shape. The conversation was ended after I told him that I would have to check on a few things and I would let him know something soon. When I called back the next day, I asked for Percy's job title and asked for the District Manager's name so that I could speak with him about this situation. I was referred to Louis **. Louis ** stated that I should have the car towed to a dealership in the area so they could take a look at it and if it is proven that Maaco has done anything, they would pay for it.

I explained that I should have to pay to have my vehicle towed and that I will look into other options. I really don't want to remove the car from the Maaco lot because they seem to want to place responsibility on me and I feel that removing the car from the lot would make ME responsible for fixing it especially since I don't have anything in writing from Maaco. Since then, My father and Godbrother (a mechanic) have been up to Maaco to take a look at the vehicle. Since I have been trying to recover from surgery, My father has been in contact with Percy and Louis. No resolution has been made as of today, October 1, 2008.

I am lodging a complaint against Maaco, Greensboro North Carolina, automobile body and painting shop, for shoddy business practices.

On May 8, 2008 we picked up our truck after trusting Maaco to repair body damage and repaint it due to an accident that happened in our driveway.

The antenna on the truck had been broken while it was in their shop for repair. We were not told it was broken either before or after paying our bill. When, just before leaving, we noticed it I brought it to the attention of John. He said he forgot to tell us about it and that he would order a new one from Toyota, that it would take two weeks to get it. He said he would call when it came in.

When we brought the truck home and inspected it we found poor quality workmanship. The area between the truck bed and cab was poorly and barely repaired. The paint in the bed of the truck in places did not even cover the metal, and elsewhere the paint coverage was thin. The repair to the side of the truck was also substandard; it is wavy where repaired. We are asking that the repairs be made properly and that the painting be brought up to an acceptable standard.

We never received a call from John regarding the antenna either. I called Maaco on Thursday May 22, 2008. When I asked John about the antenna he stated that this must be it right here in this long Toyota box? and proceeded to pretend to open it, stating that the antenna ? was a power antenna and ours wasnt?, that he would have to return it and order another. He called me back and said hed ordered it, that I could come in on 5/28/2008 to have it installed.

I called Rice Toyota on Friday 5/23/08 to follow-up and asked if the antenna had been ordered. Eric, who works in the part department for Rice Toyota pulled up their (Maacos) account and found that it had been ordered, that Wes, also of Rice Toyota parts department, had taken the order late in the day on 5/22/08. I called back and asked if the power antenna had been returned. Not only had it not been returned but no other antenna had even been ordered by them in the last two months!

This lie, the poor quality of repair and painting of our truck makes me concerned for any consumer who trusts the Greensboro, North Carolina Maaco franchise. Please file this complaint accordingly.

I finally got it back 52 days later and it was a very very bad paint job and they did over $3000 in damage to my brand new interior and other areas. I asked the owner for a refund due to the very poor quality and instead of getting my car back in 7-10 days as promised They had it for 52 days, I ended up taking the owner (Colm) to court in Arlington, he hired an attorney and had it transfered to Fairfax then they didn't show up I was granted a judgment after the judge heard my case and saw the estimates. Then they appealed it due to not being served properly and the judge granted a hearing. Being a disabled man I did not have the money for an attorney but I did have estimates and photos and a video of the very poor quality paint job and proof they had it for 52 days. Their lawyer had the estimates dismissed due to the people who wrote them were not there so I lost my case.

So I called Maaco HQ to use my warranty to have my car redone/fixed at another shop. I was told by Bruce that the owner of that shop will not honor my warranty due to he had to pay for lawyer fees in court and he said the Maaco law team has reviewed it and has agreed. The owner (Colm) could have and should have worked it out with me in the first place instead of hiring an attorney as I gave him several chances in writing.) I am asking for you to help me. I want either my car redone, which I can show you my estimates, it needs to be totally re-sanded and then painted right which my warranty should cover, or a full refund of $1800. Please help me with this issue and help show them that they can not do this to people and get away with it.

I was called by Phil Wolf on Friday May 18, 2007, Phil informed me my vehicle was ready. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle to my dismay the color was changed to a dark charcoal gray mixture, nothing resembling my orginal color. I open my car door to compare the door jams, which still had the orginal color. I pointed out the color Disparity to Phil and asked him "what did you do to my car!"

I also pointed out that on the roof of the vehicle their was line running across the entire width where the old paint and the new paint merged. Phil said this area was not sanded properly and he would take care of that. As for the difference of paint color, Phil said bring the car back in three (3) weeks this would allow the paint time to cure and they would re-paint the vehicle and remove the seam on the roof.

I brought the car back to Maaco June 11, 2007. Phil called me June 13, 2007 and said the car was ready. When I went to pick up the car this time, the seam on the roof had been repaired, however I still did not have my Champagne tan vehicle color. Instead the car was a lighter version of the Charcoal gray. I told Phil I was still not satisfied with the color because it still did not match my exiting vehicle color.

Phil became upset and said he had bent over backwards and if I wanted my orginial vehicle it would cost me Approximately $800 more dollars to upgrade to an more expensive paint. I said no way! I just want my orginal color back. I had a repair done two years ago and the color match perfectly why was it so difficult for you to match the color. Phil said to me "take your keys and have a nice day I'm not doing anything else"

In February I was in a car accident in San Antonio, TX. My car was towed
to Alamo auto body and paint. My Insurance company did not agree with the estimate given to them by Alamo so they had the car towed to Maaco. Maaco
and my insurance company agreed on an estimate in May and Maaco was to
begin the repairs. I was 1st told my car would be done by June 30th. I
called a few days before and was told that they just had to paint the car
and put it back together. I called on June 30th and was told they had

found some hidden damage and it would be ready the following Friday.

    I
called again on that Friday and they told me there were waiting to get the
parts in and it would be done again the following Friday. From June 30th
to now, I have been given 20 different dates as to when my car would be
done. They knew that I was to leave Texas August 25th, and failed to
complete the repairs. I was told several times that they were waiting on

parts and it would be just another week.

    The problem escalated to Maaco
Corporate office in which they were willing to accommodate me and buy me a
ticket home, and then back to San Antonio when my car was ready. I never
heard back from them on this. I ended up buying my own ticket home for an
interview I had already rescheduled twice due to Maaco not completing my

car on the dates they gave me.

On August 31st, while I was on the plane in Dallas waiting to take off, Maaco calls me and tells me my car is ready. I explain to them I am on a plane home and that I would be returning the
following week. This was the Manager Raymond. I also explained to him that
I had to buy my own plane ticket, and he reassured me that my expenses
would be reimbursed to me by the owner. This reimbursement included my
ticket there, my ticket back and the expenses that I would have to pay for
transportation while I was here in Illinois. So, I bought the ticket home
(both tickets equaling $500) and called Maaco that following Thursday to

inform them I would be flying in that next day to pick up the car.

    I once
again spoke to Raymond and he informed me that the car was not done and
denied calling me the previous Thursday telling me the car was done.
Raymond told me they were waiting for the insurance company to send
payment for additional damage they had to repair. At this point the total
damages and labor have exceeded not only the value of my car but also the
loan amount. I spoke to the insurance company, who has played an active
role in my battle the entire time, and they stated that they knew about
the additional repairs but Maaco refused to send them a detailed bill
listing those damages nor did they send a pre-estimate for those damages
and gain approval for the repairs. Towards the end of last month I was
also informed by Enterprise who is holding my deposit waiting for payment
on a rental car from Maaco, that the Maaco location my car was at had been

closed by the City police due to non payment of rent.

    I have been in
contact with Corporate once since then in which they told me they were
sending a rep from corporate down to San Antonio to have my car brought to
the Austin Maaco and over see the repairs. This was 2-3 weeks ago. I have
not heard from them since then. At this point in time my expenses for
transportation have gotten so expensive that I have been unable to pay my

own car note and am facing repossession. I have listed the expenses that I have had to pay out due to Maaco from the end of August until today. Besides these out of pocket expenses, I don't think Maaco can put a price on the amount of stress and frustration in which they have brought upon me. At this point, even when the car is repaired, as long as its taken them I don't feel comfortable nor do I feel safe flying back down to San Antonio to drive the car back up here to Illinois.

Even if I did, I would simply not have the time to take off from work to do this. Maaco knew for 3 months the day that I was moving back to Illinois and I even had to push this

back another week hoping they would have my car done by time I left.

2 weeks ago I eceived a voicemail from my contact at Maaco corporate, Dorris, and they will not reimburse me for any of my expenses, even though the owner of the original Maaco said that Maaco would reimburse me for these things. She also stated that I was going to have to come back out there at my expense to drive the car back to Chicago. I have now had to buy another plane ticket to fly back to Texas Thanksgiving day to get my car and drive it back to Chicago.

After speaking to the manager of the Austin Maaco, it turns out all of the work the San Antonio store did had to be redone including the body work, along with some things that were not damaged due to the accident but by the hands of Maaco.

The painting job on the car is terrible. The fenders are missing screws and fender can come right off. Bubbles are all of the car from the dust setting in the paint.

Paint on the headlights from them not removing the lights before painting. Weather stripping is missing on the rear hatch. So if it rains water will be in my trunk. Paint was pulled of the rim of the window from removal of tape. They were surpose to repair the door and replace it with a new one but the new door is dented along with the rear quarter panel. We were quoted 3-4 days before the work began. They had the car 3 weeks, 4 days (25 days)! Lost the use of the car.
It was painted the WRONG COLOR! (Grey vs. bright silver metallic.)
Maaco claimed the "bondo" was "bad" causing the paint to wrinkle.

John Martinez, owner, A & A Painting said, "They probably did not mix the paint right." (Not enough hardner, etc.)

On Feb 2, 2003 I went to This maaco station to inquire about a paint job on my vehicle. There is a big sign out on the street that says they will paint any vehicle for $169.00. When I went inside Mr Hashimoto told me the sign is old and will not honor it anymore. In fact he quoted me @ $500.00. This is completely unfair. This was the entire reason why I drove down there.

I then e-mailed their customer service office and they told me that it was not there main priority to get rid of the sign and that they would not honor it. They should not advertise something that is not true. I beleive we call that false advertisement. How can they be allowed to do this.

I went over there to get my car repainted because the paint was falling off in certain areas as well i was gonna have the front bumper fixed and the side fender and would eventually pay for those two things except the paint cause i had warranty. I took my car there around march 2003 or the begining of April to get it done it stay there for quite a while because i had order the fender and it was suppose to get there anytime soon but it never did and we waited maybe a month after i got tired of the shop i order the parts from and told them to go ahead and paint the car and try to fix the broken fender since it was fiber glass.

After the car was done i think i waited around a week or two till i was able to go up to tucson and see how it came out i liked it alot and ask the price and told him i would pick it up in two days when i would have all the money, But when i went i notice the windows where down with my DVD player out so i told the employee taking care of me to please put the windows up because of the dvd. I think 3 days pass or 2 and i called telling him i was gonna go for my car the next day and told me that they had a problem that my DVD player had been stolen from my car and i asked if the alarm was on and he said yes and then i asked if they had put the windows up and said no that thats where they made the mistake. I called my father to his cell phone and told him what had happen my dad was currently in tucson and stoped by the shop and talk to the owner the owner said he was responsoble so he would pay for it but that he would try to get the insurance to cover it.Time pass and he started being even less helpful and starting backing up.

Finally i called better business bureau and explain my case but it did not help cause still to these day i havent gotten my DVD player back.

The excuse he made was that i didnt have full coverage insurance wich i couldnt have even if i wanted to because my car was salvage plus he had told us if the insurance wouldnt pay it he would take responsibility and he did not he just let time pass. Now if the windows would have been closed like i told them to do the people trying to still the DVD player would have not been able to have easy access to it because they would have had to break the window and the alarm would have gone off but they didnt have a hard time because they just got inside the car through the window and took the DVD player not only that but the owner had put my car outside the lot to display with the windows down and thats when they stold the DVD. He himself told my father about that. As a owner he should have been responsible and had the windows up at all times no matter what specially if he seen there was a very expensive DVD inside the car. Other cars had the windows down why did he leave mines down even after i had told them.I just htink its only fair and responsible of an owner to keep his word.

I am not asking for money for the trips i had to take over to tucson from Nogales several times plus the long distance phone calls to him to see what was going on. I simply want the money for my DVD or the DVD and i can take proof of the cost of it i had already talk to the store employee when it happen and i also have witnesses. Oh yeah and when my DVD was stolen the day i called it wasnt stolen it had actually been stolen a day before wich they did not call me the day it happen.

They told me they would fix them if they put them there.I made sure I asked if they would fix the runs, three times, because I told them I didn't want them to paint my car if they were going to put runs in the car. I also wanted body work done. They agreed to do it for a set price. After they painted my car I went to go look at it. There were two runs in the paint and they didn't fix a lot of the body work that I was going to pay for.

There were 10 things wrong in all. I am a nice person so I told them I would be okay if they just fixed at least four things. They refused to fix what they didn't fix in the first place, but they still wanted to charge me the full price with body work and all. I told them why would I pay for something the didn't do and they said, "If you dont pay we will keep your car." I would not go for that though. They Lie to get you to paint your car and when you leave it they do what ever they want to it. They lied to me plus two people I had with me. They have no shame.

Ray one of the owners was very nasty. he called to tell me my car was ready but when i got there the side doors on the drive side which they were suppose to replace was not aligned properly i ask them to fix it but when i returned again to pick up the vehicle they still were not done right.

the car was horrible and the bar inside between the two doors was not replaced. ray told me that they did not see that. But if they had to take off the old doors they had to see that the piece needed to be replace. Ray said he would order the piece and replace it. He called me back said the piece came and to pick up the car. Maaco just took the piece and layed it in there because i could pull the piece up with my hands, the paint was running because they called themselves washing the car for me and the total job was horrible. i was so angry i did not want maaco to re-do this job to mess it up even more. I paid the balance and drove the car down the street to the ford dealership. 2 days later I got a call from carlos one of the employees at ford stating that the manager at the NAB autobody shop who does the body for ford wanted me to give him a call.

When i called steve at NAB he told me that whoever did the job really messed up my car and i should be reinbursed for my money because the job was horrible. this job is now costing almost $7,000 to repair something maaco was suppose to have repaired before. I am looking to gain my money back in full from maaco which was $3,100 and I want them to reinburse me for the money I have to pay ford which is around $7,000 and I want maaco to reinburse me for the rental which is estimated to be about $1,500. Because if my car was fixed right the first time I would not be renting now. If someone could please help me solve this delimma. I have been going through this sense Dec 15, 2001 and i still don't have my vehicle.

    Hi,

About 6 weeks ago I recieved a top of the line signature series paint job from Maaco on Staten Island. The service I recieved was very unsatisfactory. They charged me $1200 for a top of the line paint job that looks like the cheapest job Maaco has to offer. My problems are as follow :

    1) Peeling of the paint has begun within the 6 weeks of having the vehicle. The peeling has begun on the left and right doors(because of this problem it is my concern that it will carry throughout the entire vehicle). I have visited another Maaco and some other auto detailing shops on Staten Island and they told me this is true and that it would spread if the vehicle wasn't done again the proper way. They also couldn't believe the owner of the Maaco I got the job done at charged me that price for the outcome of the vehicle.

    2) The paint was not evenly sprayed(which has caused an orange peel affect throughout the whole vehicle. This means that the vehicle looks just like the outside of an orange).

3)The vehicle was not stripped to metal, primed, sanded and then painted the proper way. The owner sayed he put a special coating on the old paint so the new one would stick to the vehicle. This is not the case because of the peeling, etc. If primer was not to be applied to the vehicle then another process called scuffing should have been done. This also by the way the vehicle looks was never done.

    4) All emblems and stickers on the vehicle were removed before the paint was applied. Because improper techniques were done to the vehicle(described in #3) you can still see the etching of were they were, right through the paint.

5)There are large scrapes underneath the paint that the person who painted the vehicle went over with paint without fixing it first.

I have brought the vehicle back to the owner to show him everytime something else happens or I notice more mistakes, etc., he basically doesn't want to be bothered (the first time I brought it to him, my friends are witness to this statement when he said" Jason, please dont show me things which I have to see with a magnifying glass."These mistakes are clear as day. He still feels his guys did a great job. For myself, my friends and family, and the other auto detailing places, we all think he is crazy and a ripp off artist.

All he is willing to do for me is go over the peeling paint with more paint. This is what I believe would be considered a coverup job. The only thing I wanted done and the only thing that has to be done is strip the vehicle to the body frame, prime it, sand it, and then paint it. He is absolutely not willing to do this. I tried to do the right thing by showing him,he didn't want to hear it.He is a very smooth talker and trys to turn a situation around and say it's my fault for the paint coming off. This is rediculous. Then I went a step further and contacted Maaco's main office. There are certain step to follow when a paint job is done to a vehicle at a Maaco station. If your dissatisfied with the work you show the owner, if he doesn't agree with you, your next step is to file a complaint against that paticular station. This is what I did.

I described all the above items to them. I told them the only way to satify me and not have me feel I was cheated out of $1200 which I was, was to strip, prime and sand and then repaint. They contacted the owner and he disagreed again and was not willing to do the job over the proper way. He is offering to paint the doors(coverups) again, thats it, take it or leave it. I told them before I wanted them to contact him that I would feel better if they sent me to another Maaco station because I absolutely do not want to return to the original. They told me I couldn't do this unless the owner of the original station completely agrees on it because he doesn't want to do the job over again. He is willing to do coverups, not paint all over again, and for this reason they told me I must return to him because the 4 year warrentee I recieved with the paint job lies with his station. Maaco is also a franchise with private owners and this is also a problem. This company has done nothing for me, but give me grief and aggrevastion. Neither the owner of the shop or the company is willing to satified my needs.

I'm stuck in this situation. I don't want anything to do with this owner or this company. They seem to be working hand and hand all the way through this. I don't trust this Maaco station at all. At this point even if he agrees on doing this job over I wouldn't want it for the simple fact that this could have been avoided the first time around, and what makes them think he'll do the right thing this time if he didn't the first. This Maaco station and the main office are horrible and obviously are uncaring to there customers even though they give 4 year warrentees they don't plan on living up to. In closing I would appreciate your help in any way possible, because at this point it isn't about the paint job, it's about getting my $1200 back for a job that isn't worth that much. Please help soon. Thank you very much for your time.

In 2/99, I had my 1984 Buick Skyhawk painted by Maaco in Huntington Station. I feel it was not a good paint job for the following reason: rust bubbles have formed beneath the paint at the lower part on the two passenger side doors as well as at the edge of the upper rear corner of the back door on the same side of the vehicle. Upon a prior request for touch up paint for which I have always offered to pay, but they never accepted it, I recieved paint that was dramatically lighter in shade than my car.

I gave them the color code and Mr. Armelio could not match it to my car. On Saturday, September 23, 2000, after having called Mr. Armelio a few days prior, I received that paint, but not in the normal small plastic container. Instead I received it in the canister in which the paint used to spray the car during the painting process is stored. I did not care about that. Before I drove away, however, I did test it to make sure that it matched. It did, and I was happy. By Sunday, 9/24, it dried up, and now it is useless to me.

When I tried to point out the problem about the rust on the telephone, Mr. Armelio insinuated that maybe it was time for me to get a new car. I have had prior experience with that particar shop dating back to 1995 when it was under different ownership. The quality of the work was much better. I knew this because in '95 I had a thousand dollars worth of repair done to that car, and it was of high quality. The poor quality since Mr. ARmelio assumed ownership as well as his disrespect towards me and towards my car is apparent to me, and I feel it should be made apparent to everyone that this person conducts his business unethically.
