My wife got her 2001 Mustang GT repaired and painted after an accident. Trevor, the owner, was the person who did the estimate for repairs with full repaint. They treated my wife honestly and courteously. I was not able to go with her so I am very pleased with their customer service. The repairs were great and the repaint looks good as well. The price was to the penny on the estimate. If she is happy, I am happy. The body work was great at the repair site. I wished that they had sanded the front bumper completely smooth before re-shooting the color but I am too picky. Overall I highly recommend Maaco on 9133 Berry Ave in Jacksonville FL.

To start off everything was good. I paid 2k for paint job with the 5 year warranty and small body work April 2023. Fast forward to October my whole hood is cracked up, peeling, poor sanding job on body work, multiple spots did not get sprayed. Top it off the Reynoldsburg location is no longer in business and the other locations don't know how to proceed for my warranty work.

The entire experience with the Maaco in Van Nuys, California was excellent.. The staff Karina and Jay were wonderful. I had my 2014 Toyota Corolla painted this week. My car was so sunburned it was embarrassing to me. I am older and not in a position to purchase a new car. I was able to work with Karina on a price that worked for me, and left my car with them hoping it would be beautiful.. Jay contacted me as soon as it was ready to be picked up, and I was thrilled with the outcome.. It looks like a brand new car.. And I even have a warranty.. Thank you, Thank you Karina and Jay and also a big Thank you to the people that did the excellent paint job.. I am so grateful.. Melody S

I never visit this place again. I had appointment for fix my car color work. I called day before and confirm the appointment and when I reached the place and they told me her painter is out and not possible to fix my car until next week. Me, my wife drove (2 car) 35 miles one way. Like we drove (35*4=140 miles) and waste 2 hours in morning and last minute they cancelled my appointment. This place is totally unprofessional. The owner lady never say sorry too.

2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Top painted +yr ago only needed black on body painted. Very minimal overspray on windows. Great job protecting top. Some small fish eyeing. Got $$ worth HOWEVER both door handles which still had factory gray paint weren't being painted & whatever tape they used took the paint off.. Surely no Duct tape used. Automorive paint tape would have not done this damage. Pointed this out & was told to bring it back. They'd give me good deal painting em. They messed em up & should fix at NO CHARGE!

Maaco on Lafayette Road Indianapolis touched up my metallic grey VW CC - fender and roof. I wanted to reach out and thank the staff for a job well done. It's not very often anymore that service work meets expectations. It's even rarer that expectations are exceeded. Not only does the paint job look amazing, but the car was also detailed inside and out. I could not be more pleased with the results.

We took my little sports car roadster to Maaco in Bellingham Washington to get a new paint job on it, When I called and asked about their security they told me it was an old car and no one would bother it. I wasn't very happy about that. It felt kind of insulting when we took the car in. About a week later we went to pick it up there was paint on every window, every light, every window seal, on the rear view mirrors, on the top of the ragtop and on the interior of the car. The other issue we had was the manager had refused to honor one of their coupons until I told him to call the owner with me there then all of a sudden he decided he would honor it. They also managed to polish the trunk shut and the manager walked around the car when we were trying to get it open and just kept saying it's an old car. Nobody will bother it. There are a lot of flaws in this paint. I would never take another car back to the store.

June 10th I dropped my car off At the Lynchburg location. To get my hood repainted because of a small Dent. I was told that they would paint the whole hood. 4 days went by no call, so I went to the shop and spoke to Jeff. Says I did not hear from them My car was ready, but the work was not done like I was told. They only fixed the area on my hood and blended the paint. This is not what I was told and the Jeff got very rude and loud with me and told me that I was too picky. And that not to never bring a car to them again. As a paying customer that was very unprofessional. So I would not recommend Them to no one.

When I called and spoke with this locations General Manager to resolve the issue and pay them directly.... She just started SCREAMING yes SCREAMING at me and called our accounting department SCREAMING. Similar to the guy on the TV show Bar Rescue. Then threatening she is going to charge us this crazy amount of money for storage. All we were trying to do is pay them via wire and take them out of the whole issue with Insurance Company. This person should NOT be dealing with customers at all. We have taken both locations off our vendor list and will NEVER use them. I hope no one will have to experience this un-processional behavior.

We brought our Toyota FJ Cruiser to Maaco in the summer of 2023, and since then, we've been back and forth trying to get issues fixed that they haven't been able to address. To start with, when we picked up the car, the interior was left in a complete mess—it was very dirty. But the real concern is that they left parts of the car interior unassembled, leaving us to figure out where they were supposed to go.
The most significant problem we've encountered since getting the car back is that every time it rains, the driver's seatbelt gets very wet. Additionally, there's a persistently loud rattling noise coming from the hood. At this juncture, we would prefer to take the car elsewhere because Maaco hasn't been able to resolve any of these issues, and the manager at the Greensboro location hasn't even responded to our messages.

March, 2024. I went to Maaco for quote on having the cab (4 Door) only of my Truck painted. Main reason is due to the continuous sun burning that to the clear coat and paint, here in the southwest. Initial quote was about $2500 and then the quote was $3100 to include the box which is now the whole truck being painted (less the cap covering the box). The quotation person pulled what I would call the stunt of: “If I don't commit to the work the price would not be honored if I leave and come back”. I accepted the quote (which closing enough to what I was expecting to pay) and scheduled for March 18, 2024 8 am drop off and the work was to be completed 3-5 days.
Day, 2024. I drop off the truck at 8 AM and when I requested confirmation of the 3 to 5 days and I was told it would be 5 to 7 days. I received a call from Maaco near the end of the day claiming additional issues were found and they now want to 5-6 hours of labor. I said no.
Day 7, 2024 I receive a text that stated: “Thanks for choosing us! We hope you enjoyed your service.” This indicates work is complete except I received no phone call indicating so. I called and was told it's in sanding and not ready. When I questioned the text message, after a long silence, I was told no idea why I got that text.
Day 9, 2024 (5 to 7 days have come and gone). I called to find out what is going and I am told there was a delay with the vehicle in front of mine (no I don't believe what I am being told). So when will it be ready and I am told Noon March 28, 2024. I said I would be there at Noon.
Day 10, 2024. I get a call from Maaco telling me there is a “slight delay” and it won't be ready. Now it will be ready March 29, 2024 at Noon. I explain to the individual calling that we are well beyond “slight delay”. 7 days were up back on Tuesday at Noon. I also informed this individual that if I was told this would be a 2 week process I would have scheduled differently. I also indicated I would not be able to get there at Noon due to other commitments.
Day 11, 2023. I called at 3:15 pm to verify my truck was ready and I was connected to a message system and was told I would get a call back. I called again at 3:30 pm and was told my truck was in the oven. I said it was told yesterday it would be ready at Noon today. I stated I would be there at 8 am Saturday to pick it up.
Day 12, 2024. In the attempt to pick up my truck I was told it is not ready (I believe by the manager) and that I was supposed to have been called and told it would not be ready. I was informed that the ongoing delay was due to a paint problem (some new paint was being used) related to Sherman-Williams. I was shown my truck with the painting complete and was told it would be ready Monday at 10 am. There has been no explanation as to why after a full week, it was finally being sanded on March 25th (the only collision work was for a few minor dents/dings). There was also a comment about not being able to mask the windows between the rear cab window and the truck cap window. Clearly a lack of knowledge and experience, the window of the truck cap folds into the cap so both the rear window of the cab and window on the cap can be cleaned.
Day 14, 2024. Picked up my Truck today which is 15 calendar days and 10 business days (refer to times recorded in the March 18th entry earlier). Did a walk around look at the paint job and minor repairs that were addressed. After paying the balance, I questioned the warranty and has handed your warranty information card. I was told 4 years while the receipt and initial discussion back on March 8th was 5 years. So was the incorrect paint used? Did I pay for the 5-year paint and the 4-year paint was applied?)
After leaving there was a definite paint odor inside the cab. Looking around I could see paint dust everywhere. I had to vacuum the entire interior and clean all the plastic/vinyl surfaces. I also discovered all of the masking was not removed from the rear window, cap window, satellite antenna on the roof, etc. Masking was also not very good as I had to clean paint off door handles, truck cap window (apparently they could not figure out getting it masked), mirror and black fender flare. I called Maaco and was put on a “brief hold” and a hung up after 10+ minutes due to no response. Not surprised that no one called back!
Day 16, 2024. Cleaned the Cab Rear Window and the adjacent window in the truck cap. Both outer-facing surface had to be scrapped with a razor blade to get the paint off. I also discovered today that overspray is on the sunscreen for the windshield. This means that one or more windows and/or doors were open during the painting process. The word frustration for this experience is an understatement. Probably better described as a living nightmare. Based on the length of time my truck was in Maaco's possession, I should be raving about what a fantastic, highly detailed job that was completed.
Day 20, 2024. I contact Corporate through email and have had no response. This is the new customer service in the 21st Century. Better NOT get Maaco!

I was reluctant at first to take my car to MAACO at Van Nuys, or anywhere else because I thought it would be too expensive to repaint it. However, my neighbor highly recommended that location because he had a great experience. Since the appointment for free estimate I was welcome and given a good price, I was still undecided about the job because I thought the car was already old but the wife said she likes the car and besides we don’t have any issues with it, she said. Then Karina give me a follow up call and offered me a better deal that I couldn’t refuse. They did a great job and They kept their promise on the timeline that we agreed on. Karina is very helpful and knowledgeable, she deserves a good raise. Highly recommend MAACO at Van Nuys.

I'm surprised to see these negative reviews as my experience was sooo opposite. Condensing what is a rather long story, I needed to replace a power outside rearview mirror on my car. I went to 4 body shops to get estimates and was appalled by the prices I was being asked the highest being $1500. I stopped in at Maaco and was given a much lower estimate but was still a lot for a retiree on a fixed income. Levi at Maaco took it upon himself to see if he could do better. By finding alternate parts sources and the lowest possible labor costs he got it down to $150. I just picked up the car. It is perfect. I couldn't recommend a place more highly. I'm very grateful to Maaco and in particular Levi.

If you can avoid using Maaco, you should do so. Overspray is rampant, and it's obvious that they are far from meticulous with their prep work. If it was just the base coat, it wouldn't be hard to remove, but in my case they oversprayed the clear coat as well, leaving a permanent streak of paint across the rear trim at the lift gate. Company tagline should be, "Oh no! Shouldn't Have Used Maaco!"

I am writing this to express my deep dissatisfaction and concern regarding the service I recently received at Maaco Auto Body Shop & Painting 510 S Mason Rd S-1, Katy, TX 77450. To provide a brief overview: Duration of Service: My vehicle was kept for over three weeks, which is significantly longer than anticipated or communicated. Financial Concerns: I was charged $2600, a substantial amount for the service rendered. Damage to Vehicle: The service resulted in the malfunctioning of my car's key fob and its internal chip, subsequently leading to the damage of my car's battery. Unprofessional Behavior: Upon raising these issues and requesting a replacement for the damaged key fob, I was met with unprofessionalism, including the use of abusive language.
Such experiences not only erode trust but also reflect poorly on the reputation of Macco. I strongly urge you to investigate this matter promptly and take appropriate action to rectify the situation. I believe it is essential for Macco to uphold its standards of service quality and customer satisfaction. I would appreciate a prompt response detailing the steps you intend to take to address these issues and ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.

"ATTENTION”. “BE CAREFUL “. Do not take your car to this place, it is a Russian roulette, I am 100% sure that you will not be satisfied, it is a nightmare. My VAN was damaged by a tornado and I paid them almost $6,000 to have it painted properly and repaired. The quality of service and work is horrible… We went 5 times to complain about all the faults that remained and were left with a truck that has two shades of green paint. At all times their response was that they did not have a furnace or proper painting equipment. They then pointed me to the fact that the document I signed states that I must accept their work as it comes out. They did not give us a choice. I had read the bad reviews that other clients had written, however I was betting that it would not happen to me but in the end I fell into their trap.
Don't even think about taking your car there, you won't be satisfied and you will be another victim of this nightmare. A week after having my van bubbles began to appear everywhere, I paid for a general repair and paint and discovered that they only sprayed paint superficially, they do not have an oven. In conclusion, it is a total fraud, I warn you NOT TO TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS BAD PLACE. They are a joke, they don't know anything about how to repair a car and the worst in service, don't waste your time and listen to all the bad reviews so you can avoid a bad time with them. I would love to give Spokane Maaco a negative rating if I could. Didn't even was the car before "painting". Panels that aren't masked off will often have overspray paint on the surface. After their "painting" you will have to remove and can also require more sections to be repainted. Grains of sand were all over, and there were absolutely no sanding before "painting". As a result, the car surface included pits, odd bulges. There were ripples, waves, or orange peels, and since the truck was there for weeks, at the end "painters" were in a hurry. Seems they used dryer to hastily dry paint only one layer, don't count on more. Conclusion the truck must be be repainted. Sagging paint was an unsightly mess this case. Paint itself is the lowest quality and started peeling off. After pointing out, Luke the manager was indifferent. Calling Maaco headquarters don't do anything,
Finally, the sales pitch, from the manager comparing Maaco to McDonalds hamburger vs. hamburger from a restaurant (meaning average paint shop). Don't trust a word coming from him.

I took my 2000 Ford Ranger XLT Stepside to Maaco for a complete paint job 3 years ago, 1 year later the paint was flacking off, actually cracking up and falling off, it looked like the paint was applied over an oil or wax surface. I took my Ranger back and they cleaned and repainted the truck cab. The new paint job didn't match the truck bed, the truck color is black, within 6 months the paint on the truck cab started chipping, small chips, I also noticed that the paint was cracking on the roof close to the third brake light.
Today I was washing the truck and noticed that the paint on the hood looks like it is fading, my truck has 3 shades of black paint, the hood has more of a dark gray look to it. The warranty covers the paint, you still have to pay labor to get the paint repaired and if you do any touch up at all the warranty is void. From what I have seen on my truck, I would say that the truck surface was not properly prepped, before the primer coat or the paint. I would take my car or truck somewhere else to be painted properly, it will cost more, but it will be worth it.

If I could give the shop zero stars, I would. Please be aware when having them fix your car and dealing with insurance especially if you are a young female, they can easily take advantage of. The shop knowingly used OEM parts, knowing that insurance does not approve them without a documented process. They went ahead and used $6000 in OEM parts to fix my daughter's car after insurance said they were not covering them, and then tried to put the $5222 that insurance didn’t approve, on my 20 year old daughter. They then try to tell us that they adjusted the price for their mistake by $2000.
Once I received the final bill from them it showed that they in fact did not adjust the price at all. once I caught that I contacted the manager and he still said that there was nothing that he could do once, but once I requested the owners information, he said he would get back to me in the morning and that he is out of the office. I then called the shop once he sent that information to me and apparently nobody in the office has contact information for the owner or the HR Director, except for the general manager, which I find to be quite ridiculous and inconvenient. They still have not fixed it and they continue to blame the insurance adjuster.
I also have emails between the shop and the insurance adjuster with them asking for more labor approval, and they know they have to have documentation for the supplements, the adjuster asked them if they had documentation and they said no ”we did not take photos” so again they failed on that part and now my daughter is being charged for the difference on the labor that was not approved, because they failed to submit and provide documentation. I have filed complaints against this business and hope to have the owners number to get this fixed. All they need to do is adjust the price for what the insurance company approved and what they charged for, (which was never approved by insurance) and we could’ve been on our way, but they have had my daughter's car for a month now and been unwilling to help us.

I took my SUV in for a paint job and when I got the car back, 10 days later (they said it was ready after 7 days but needed another day to work on the details, so I left it), the paint job was beautiful BUT my tire had a bolt in it, my driver's side visor was busted, and there was spray paint on my tires and rims, my key FOB, all of the wheel wells, and in various spots around the vehicle that were not suppose to be painted (including the rear lights). There was also remnants of painter's tape left all over the outside of the vehicle.
In addition, I called AAA to change my flat tire and upon opening the hatch/trunk area, we realized that all the weather stripping had been removed from the hatch and was laying in a pile in the back, allowing the rain to just pour into my car. Today, I went to put gas in my car and the gas release button was clicking but the gas "door" would not open. I tried and tried...and then started to panic as I KINDA NEED TO BE ABLE TO PUT GAS IN MY CAR. Someone at the gas station helped pry the gas "door" open and there was painter's tape all over the inside, which is what was catching and not letting it open.
I called the Maaco place to discuss how I loved the paint job initially but upon noticing the details that were botched, I wanted Maaco to take care of them. I was rudely told that if I wanted all these details attended to, I should have asked for the $9,000 job vs. the $3,000 job that I paid for. After 30 years of using my 1993 Mercedes 300D, it looked pathetic. The paint, damaged by the sun and time, was peeling and discolored. I visited numerous paint shops, but the proposed prices could have ruined my retirement budget. Finally I found Maaco in N.Chelmsford, MA. The boss, Richard Russo. A charming, athletic, extraordinary expert, he captivated me with his culture and professionalism. He offered a price that was acceptable. When I told my family and friends about it, they agreed. "Cheap price means cheap quality."
What was my surprise when after a week (well, three days more) I picked up a shiny, meticulously pampered car! I have seen restored classic cars many times, but never so beautifully! All the losses due to (fortunately) slight corrosion just disappeared. It's been a long time since I was so satisfied. Thank you Richie. You are the best on the East Coast! As a farewell, I sang a song to Richard, which my father learned from Gen. Patton's soldiers during the Second World War. Open the door, Richard. Open the door and let me in. Open the door, Richard. On 3/25/22, my daughter and I visited the Maaco on Greenville Blvd. in Greenville NC to discuss having my daughter's 2016 Toyota Prius painted. During discussions my daughter and I agreed on a paint level that we were told would involve some overspray onto trim and mouldings. We weren't looking for perfection, so we felt that a little overspray was acceptable, especially when the employee showed us examples of what to expect on a recently painted vehicle in the parking lot. We made an appointment and on 3/28/22 I dropped the car off. I was told it would take 2-3 days, but for reasons unknown, it took 8 days and on 4/5/22 I was able to pick up the vehicle.
On 4/5/22 I arrived at the office to pick-up the vehicle with my wife and was handed a piece of paper and asked to sign it. I asked if we should go and inspect the vehicle first and he agreed and we walked out to inspect it together. Upon inspection I noticed numerous areas where the paint ran, numerous areas where paint appears to have "Globbed-up" especially bad around the roof antenna and damage on the front passenger fender and rear bumper that wasn't there before and had been painted over. I inquired about the damage and was offered no apology or explanation.
I asked the employee to fix the glob on the roof, the runs on the back of each of the rear doors and the damages to the rear bumper and front fender, the employee agreed and we made another appointment to have this done on 4/11/22. I was told when I dropped it off on 4/11/22 that the work should be done by 4/14/22. On 4/14/22, I called and was told that it wasn't ready, but should be ready the next day on 4/15/22 and again it wasn't. After not hearing from them for 5 days, On 4/20/22 my daughter called and was told the car was ready and we could come get it, this was great news because our truck had broke down on us in VA and we needed the car, so we began driving a rental car from VA to go pick up my daughter's car, several hours into our drive, I called just to confirm the car would be ready and was told that it wasn't.
5 more days passed without a word so on the morning of 4/25/22 I called and was told that the car should be ready for pick-up that evening. I picked the car up on the morning of 4/26/22 and as the employee drove it around, it could be seen to have blue painters tape holding the hybrid emblem on the repaired fender. The employee explained that they had just applied the emblem and that it would be dry by the time I got it home and I could remove the tape then. The employee got out of the car, said "Thank you for your patience", while handing me my key, then left me with my car without an offer to inspect anything.
As I walked around the car, I saw the fender was fixed and looked good, but the runs on the doors looked like someone just cut them off with a razor, the blob on the roof was still a blob, but now had a sanding mark on the top with some dark color showing, (Primer?). The rear bumper damage which had been a small curled sliver of plastic that had been painted over had been cut off with no attempt to fix the damage. Finally there was new damage to the rear bumper where something had pressed against a piece of trim and pushed it inward out of alignment. I just left. I was disappointed and just tired of dealing with these people. I would not recommend taking your vehicle here. They don't communicate at all and they apparently lack any form of quality control. I will be contacting their corporate office and trying to work out a resolution that doesn't involve my vehicle going back to that particular shop.

I had a vehicle painted at Maaco at the Rancho Cordova Ca location, I didn't expect a show-quality paint job but I never expected this... They did almost no prep, even though the work order specified light sanding. All they did was wipe it down with a green scotch pad, then they painted right over dirt. There are pinholes in their primer which was so thin the only way I knew they used primer was all the overspray. I had the glass removed after I dropped it off there and they failed to sand or prep around the opening so now the paint is already lifting about the rear window. There are numerous runs in the paint and bubbles due to lack of prep... I was told they would use a heavy primer that would fill any light imperfections, that was a blatant lie.
I was also told there would be no warranty since I did some body work in a few spots, funny thing is the paint laid down fine there. The problem areas are on factory paint where there hasn't been any previous work... This was obviously way more than that shop could handle... I was told they can keep their prices low because of their technique and volume, that is a huge lie! They keep it cheap because they do almost no prep work and use extremely poor quality products... When there is so much dirt under the paint that pretty much tells the story...

I really wish I would've paid more for a less reputable business. As a birthday present, I took my mother's car into Maaco in Tucson AZ for a full car body paint job. The price was really good, but that should've been the first red flag. The GM Brian took some general information down including the color, which was medium gray, but when my mother took her car in, he had the color down as black. That's quite the difference in tone especially since that is the color my mother was changing from. My mother caught the error, and she picked the medium gray color that she wanted and assumed GM Brian was capable of writing it down correctly. He wasn't. Not only did he write down the WRONG COLOR, he broke the nozzle to her window wash and had to replace it....twice. This put a delay in picking up the car.
When I did pick up the car, the nozzle still hadn't been replaced, (which my mom had to later take the car in when it finally did arrive), but that wasn't even the worse part. We expected to leave with a medium gray car, we left with a GREEN CAR. GM Brian showed me the color swatch because I questioned the color, and just by looking at the swatch, I knew it wasn't the color my mother had picked. Still, on the form was MEDIUM GRAY, but here is a green car. She never would have picked that color. It is blatantly GREEN! I received even more affirmation when I drove up in her car and saw her face drop, not in delightful admiration, but in absolute dumbfounded confusion. GM Brian wrote the wrong number down! She didn't want to call him back because she couldn't afford the time to get her car repainted. She needed her car for work.
Now, forward to a month later, she is still trying to convince herself that she's ok with the color, but on top of that, she gets stopped by the police on her way to work. These MAACO car body paint "professionals" painted OVER the lights that shine onto her license plate. She tried scraping as much as she could off, but it still looks horrible. I called the capable GM Brian and he did suggest taking the car in so he can "clean it up". Do I trust him touching my mother's car AGAIN? No. I asked if he could just order the replacement and I would get someone else to install it because it's been one issue after another with him, but he said he wasn't going to buy it, he would just clean it up. That's not good enough.
The trust in his abilities is zero. He showed his "skills" when he broke the nozzle AND couldn't write proper numbers down, which his laborers also agreed he is less than capable of, why would I trust him with a washrag? At this point, the only way this can be repaired is to receive a full refund, nothing less. To anyone thinking about taking your car to this location, trust me, pay the high price elsewhere. Save yourself the time and headache. You'll thank me.

I paid $4300 dollars to have Maaco paint my 2004 Dodge Ram. The manger, Bobby, said it would take one and a half weeks. I finally got the truck back four weeks later. He was suppose to put rails on the fenders of the bed but did not said they had not come in? Obviously he did not order them. I shouldn't take four weeks to get parts. The worse part of the job was that they did not properly prepare the surface of the truck for painting. They did repair one dent in the left door. However, they left about ten scratches and small dents unprepared. I asked a refund for the bed rails and he said he was just giving them to me. He did order them again and told me to come and get them at the end of the week.
He said the reason they did not repair the scratches was because I had not paid the $195 extra they charged!! I thought they were normally included when you paint a car or truck. Doesn't make sense not to repair scratches and dents with a new paint job. So now I have a new $4300 paint job on my truck that has many scratches and small dents. He was not cooperative at all and acted like I was judicious in thinking a new paint job would include proper preparing on the surface. The second week he had the truck I called about six times and always got a answer machine. I finally drove the 45 miles to talk with him. The bottom line is I was taken to the cleaners and have no recourse but to drive a truck with a poor paint job. Bobby never offered any help or admitted their fault. If I could give half a star I would!! Do not use this company if you are wanting a good paint job or any damages repaired. I spoke with a woman on the phone and given a couple price suggestions so we decided we’d give them a try. Brought our vehicle to them (Rockwell location okc). Right off the bat the man in the office took over and was rude the entire time. Quoted us a price that we agreed on. The man tells us, "Pick it up in a week. We will call you in a couple days to let you know how it’s all going." Mind you we are switching from white to black and having about three small dents repaired. I also told the guy that I didn’t want anything to happen to my wheels. They were brand new and didn’t have any others to put on to get the vehicle painted so told them about 10 times please don’t spray my wheels. No call.
A week goes by and they tell us our hood was too damaged and we needed to replace it so we call another company upon their recommendation. Another couple days goes by And they tell us our vehicle is still not ready because the hood we paid for is way too damaged to use on any vehicle and that’s where I start getting so upset because we were reassured from the other company that it was like new. We get the company we got the hood from to replace the hood for free thankfully.
We are told to pick up our vehicle a couple days later (a week later then promised to begin with) and I let them know I will be there when they open to pick it up. I got there at 8:30 am and my vehicle was sitting in their parking lot in pieces!! There was white spots all over it that they missed there was orange peeling all over it and pain drips all over my vehicle, scratches under the paint which tells me they didn’t do ANY prep work. I told them I was not happy especially since I had to sit there for 3 hours for them to put my vehicle back and touch up the spots they missed. They got over spray all over my brand new wheels and ruined them. They didn’t care whatsoever about what they did. They have no customer service and two months later the paint is peeling up all over it!
I called customer service to let them know since we have a 4 year warranty on the paint job and they didn’t do anything just said, "Well oh well. It is what it is," take it back in and they will see if it’s covered. The whole experience was absolutely miserable. There is just so so much more about the whole thing but just don’t ever use them. We have a few vehicles that need painted but I will NOT use this company. Save yourself the time/headache/ money and look elsewhere. DO NOT USE MAACO!!! You have been warned. They don’t care. Maaco is false advertising where customers put in their information for an appointment and the work they want done only to get there and experience quite the opposite. When this guy came out to look at my car I thought I ended up somewhere other than Maaco. In October 2019 I had to have the driver's door replaced on my 2007 Chevy Silverado. My mechanic referred me to Maaco in Lubbock Texas. After paying $2080, I drove off and could hear lots of road noise and air coming in. I waited a few days to cool off, so I didn't go off needlessly, since I knew it wouldn't help my situation. When I showed the guy who worked on my door (Devin) he wouldn't listen. What an arrogant ass. He just said how many years he had been doing this work. So, I drove off feeling humiliated. I later got a call from Mr. Roy Seay, the president of the company and he wanted to make things right. He test drove the truck and immediately had someone fix the problem. He even had them polish the headlights providing better visibility at night.

I have a 1999 Chevy Lumina that is driftwood in color. Yes, it is a 20 year old car, but I bought it in mint condition from a friend's grandma who drove it to church and the grocery store. I detail cars as a side hustle, and I try to keep it looking sharp so my clients know I mean business. I mean, what detailer pulls up to a client's home or business to clean THEIR car in a vehicle that isn't properly taken care of? That doesn't speak very highly of what they are about to do to that client's vehicle, does it?
Anyway, I got distracted as I was backing out of a garage one day and put a huge, deep (down to the metal) scrape in my rear passenger-side quarter panel. I literally screamed in horror when I saw the damage. (I'm female, so that's acceptable.) I took it to a body shop nearby and the estimate was over $1,100.00! That's half of what I paid for it! Then I went to Maaco and talked to Chad. I told him I was self-pay, no insurance, and to take it easy on my wallet as much as possible. He gave me an estimate of a little over a third (!) of what the first body shop had given me, so I said sign me up.
It took them 5 days to complete, and although there were a few little mistakes, Chad and his team were more than happy to reconcile them all. Chad and his team treated this girl and her 20 year old tacky gold Lumina like a princess, and I never once felt like I was being taken advantage of because I am female. (You know what I'm talking about, Ladies...) So, in short, I highly recommend Maaco, Chad and his team of technicians if you need an affordable paint job in Springfield, MO.

This is an amendment to review of Oct. 19, 2019. Took about 6 days longer than estimated, but color looks fantastic with VERY VERY little overspray anywhere. This is great compared to some of the horror stories I've read on other Maacos.

I was told they would need to have my car 6 days to do a paint color change. Yesterday was the 10th full business day. Called to see if it would be ready before closing. She said yes. Called an hour before closing and she said 'Monday' because it had some 'runs' they couldn't work on 'til then. Oh great... Paint runs! I'll let you folks know if I can see any differences anywhere on the work. If not, I'll raise my stars to '3' and no higher but now after reading some of the horror stories ahead of me, I feel really lucky. Just wish I'd been willing to pay more than $3,363 for a better experience.

In March of 2019 I consulted with Maaco of Durham to have my Jeep Wrangler painted. I’d been wanting to change the color of the car, inside and out, for several years and based upon some quality reviews my wife saw online, the consultation we had, their spoken willingness to attempt some other body work, and their assurance that work would be completed in just one single week, I committed to have them do the work.
What followed was, by far, the worst retail experience of my life. One week came and went, and it was clear that work had not even begun on my car. Over the next four weeks I begged and pleaded for updates, to which I was constantly put off. The completion date continuously changed as, seemingly, the back office and front office were never on the same page or just decided to throw whatever date they felt like at me to get me to shut up. We made several trips directly to the office to ascertain if work had begun or not. On one of these trips, we found my Jeep outside, fully exposed to the elements on a day that a severe rain storm had just passed by. The level of negligence in this case was beyond belief.
At three weeks, things escalated further when I was essentially told to stop ‘playing this game’ and that I could come pick the car up at any time if I wanted to cut my losses (three weeks without my car) and move on. However, I decided to press for the work to begin and not have those three weeks of carpooling go to waste. I reached out to Maaco Corporate, and through my complaint a regional manager seemingly visited the shop to ensure work would finally begin and even oversee the job. To this day I’m still not sure this manager actually did oversee the work, but work did begin on the car. After four weeks it was finally finished – although it was painted a much lighter shade of silver than I had selected.
Mere weeks later the paint started to chip off on the inside, exposing bright blue (the original paint color) underneath each spot. After my month of frustration, I decided that they must have cut corners by not sanding the interior of the car, but I made no complaint as the exterior seemed to be OK. However, after some more weeks passed, the paint job on the exterior of the car started to chip off in several places, and continues to do so to this day. With bright blue showing under each chipped area, I can see no way that the car was sanded, at all, prior to the paint job being performed. During our four weeks of communicating, I was assured multiple times that the car would be sanded. However, the sand job was either so shoddy, or not done at all, that the paint simply wont stick, effectively, to the car.
This brings into severe question the durability of the overall paint job, and barring a complete redo, there is no real fix. I don’t even have an easy method of acquiring and applying touch up paint to the effected areas. At one point I accidentally brushed my keys across the inner door seam and the silver paint slid off as easily as if I’d wiped a drop of milk off the back of my hand. The other 30 spots on the car? Well, those are just chipping away on their own.
I contacted the Better Business Bureau with a complaint. And I also reached out to Maaco Corporate in Charlotte. When Corporate finally followed up with me, they indicated that I’d have to work with the shop directly to have my issues resolved. Really? You have no oversight, as a Corporate office, over your stores? OK. But, I did communicate with the shop directly and provide proof of the chipping paint via pictures. I also got assurances that their regional manager would reach out to me directly to discuss my concerns. Two weeks have passed and the shop has cut off all communications with me, the regional manager never contacted me, and I’m seemingly out of $2000 as the paint job I paid for evaporates. I can’t imagine that every Maaco shop will employ people such as this one does, but every shop should provide quality work. Whatever you do, don’t trust this one to.

Let me tell you about BAD customer service. Several years ago (approx. 2008), my parked car was hit by a drunk driver. Said drunk driver’s insurance made me go to Maaco for the repairs. Initially the repairs looked good. Did the job in an appropriate time frame and offered the lifetime warranty. Great, right? Year later, get another hit. Take it back there because my initial interaction wasn’t bad. The guys in the shop were rough but just figured that was the auto industry. Then it went down from there. Went to pick up my car, but my car was gone. Not parked where the others were and wasn’t in the shop bays. Office and all doors were locked up. Call the shop number no answer. Wait a while and nothing.
Finally, assume my car has been stolen and call law enforcement. As I am on the phone making report and getting an officer to my location, my car pulls in. It is the manager guy. Apparently had to go to a guy’s house to get this “special” buffing tools and take my car to do that, not his own. Whatever. I am angry beyond belief and just want to get away from this guy. I go home. My car is a black GMC. GMC uses PPG paint, same as Maaco. Yet my black door that was repainted doesn’t even begin to match. We are talking black versus gray. Next, the clear coat starts to pop. Well, good thing there is a lifetime warranty because I take it back up to my local Maaco.
This goes on many times over the next few years. Over this time, I have been yelled at, cussed at, and even had my keys thrown at me by folks at this same Maaco location. Now it is 2019 and I am going to be getting rid of this GMC, but I need the clear coat repaired one last time. I dread calling my local Maaco, and to my surprise a new owner has bought the local franchise. He is very nice and hates to hear all the awful situations I have been through. I schedule to have my clear coat repair done. Now there is a new problem, Maaco Corporate has now said they won’t honor the lifetime warranty, but have a new 5 year warranty. I am not concerned with what their corporate policies are now, I had my repairs done while there was a lifetime warranty policy. That lifetime warranty has to be honored.
Just when you don’t think it can get worse- WAIT. I called corporate to open my claim file on August 23, 2019. Here it is October 14, 2019, 53 days since opening the claim file and I have yet to have a return call or email from Maaco. I have called weekly and am told the file has been assigned to George Burrows but they will escalate the file to their supervisor. Of course, it’s a call center and they cannot do more. I fully understand that and most of them have been very nice. Until today. Today “Michael” read my notes of the times I have called and proceeded to inform me there was nothing he could do at his location. I get that, but until I get a phone call, email, or a supervisor I am going to begin to call each day or take legal action.
“Michael” fully dismissed me and interrupted me to say that would be pointless. Well buddy, you have not been put through the ringer for the past 9 years by this company and just want your car fixed to get a new one and never have anything to do with Maaco again. So, as I wait to call again tomorrow, I thought I would share the horrible service I have received with the world. Whatever you do in life, DO NOT use Maaco for any auto service! If I have to write that on my grave, I will make sure it is known.

Avoid Maaco on 8916 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64131 at all cost if you value your vehicle. My son and I had one classic car ready to be painted after we had done most of the body preparation plus we had three more classic cars lined up if the experience turned out to be a good one... Well, let me tell you this fellow potential customers, do not waste your money there. We brought the car in with the agreement that if we removed all the trims and did most of the patch work ourselves, Maaco was going to take care of all the "Light chip and Scratch repair" as written in the printed document given to us.
We did just that and were under the impression that the OBVIOUS CHIPPING in the front of the car was going to be handled by Maaco otherwise my son and I we could have taken care of it. Instead, they just painted over making the car look like darn swiss cheese. It would have taken us at most a couple hours to take care of this but now we have a classic car looking terrible. Paint dripping, holes on the front end, dust painted over protruding through the paint, greasy spots under the paint, etc... I am attaching a few pictures for all to see the marvelous work!
Last but not least, when I asked the "salesman" why he did not call us to warn that this was going to be an issue we should take care of before the paint is applied, he gave us a whole attitude like this is the paint job we paid for and it would cost us $700 to fix their own appalling work and when I asked why he was getting upset since I am the customer I should be the one voicing my discontent, he just walked out on me and my son without offering an alternative... Well I guess we have learned our $1050.00 lesson here and will never, ever have dealings with Maaco anywhere and will make sure we spread the word!

My car sat at this Maaco on Mt Moriah in Memphis, TN for 2 months. It only had hail damage. These people clearly had no clue on how to fix the problem. Every week my car was to be ready on Friday for the last 7 Fridays. This place continuously takes on jobs that they can not complete in a timely fashion. The woman at the front desk "Denise" is rude, abrasive, lacks greatly in tact, is void of any customer service skills. I'm surprised that this place is even open.
I was there all day yesterday 27 Sep 19. Everyone who came there had the same complaint. Their cars have been at this location for months. Their police came and they even said that this is not a good place to get a car repaired and that they have to show up at this place every day. Avoid this place. Do not waste your time or money.
I feel physically ill after my encounter with this Maaco. I'm truly traumatized by the whole encounter. I took my car immediately to a reputable body shop and showed them what this Maaco had done and they strongly suggested that I should report it. I can not stress it enough that this place should be avoided by any consumer. Don't do it. To tell you that I'm disappointed is putting it politely. I've called the corporate office. I've also wrote a letter and nothing. No one cares until they get sued.

Eddie spent a good ten minutes asking me questions about condition, color number, etc. He finished by asking me my name and number and told me to come by when it is convenient. The next morning I was sitting in front of the gate when they opened and I introduced myself to the owner, after he opened the fence gate and the office. I was pleasantly surprised that this was not Eddie but he knew who I was and said, "you called to paint your hood right!" "Eddie told me to expect you!" The owner looked at my vehicle and explained how the last paint shop messed up my job and now the paint got fried by the sun, wax and not having a good clear coat.
I explained to him that I was a disabled, retired senior citizen on a tight budget. He gave me his assurance that he would give me a senior citizens consideration, He introduced me to Luis who did my estimate and even provided me with a ride home! I expected to wait 3 days because it is at least a two day job. On THURSDAY morning, Luis called me and said, "Your truck is ready, come and get it!" I took the car to Maaco Longwood on 7.23.19 and clearly explained I wanted my car fixed completely how it was. I received a call on 8.9.19 to pick up the car, after arriving home to my surprise the car was a different color and they had not repainted the passenger door which was clearly a part of the accident. The side panel body work was okay; however, as you can see my car is now two toned on one side. I have paid over $4000 to date and I would like my car the same color.
Longwood did offer to paint my door for 75; however, I do not want my car mismatched and no longer feel comfortable doing business with that location again. I'm in the process of trying to get this issue resolved and will certainly update the post once a resolution is determined. I've contacted Maaco's corporate office, only to be told there was nothing they could do and that I have to take matters into my own hands, as this is an independent contractor... This has been an awful experience thus far!!!

Knowing that they were stolen at MAACO months back there was nothing I could do about it.
On 04/15/2019 we took the car back in to have the rust fixed on the other Rocker Panel. Now normally the wife drives the car. Being a Saturday we couldn’t call them until Monday. That Monday the wife took the car back and explained what happened. The man in charge of the operation insured her that in 6 years no one has ever stolen from cars. Today I was inspecting the car and saw rust on the brand new part that they put on not even a year and a half ago. Friday 06/07/2019 we took the car to our Mechanic to have some Caliper work done and he explained to us how when people get their hands on cars like these they steel stuff because they can’t find the parts anywhere else.

This is an update of the review from 1 year ago when the rust on my truck was repaired. My original review was a 5 stars due to the great job they did. They cut out the rusted area and welded in a new metal area. The manager did not let me know that there was a gap between the original fender and the metal that they replaced would be a big area of concern that the rust would come right back. If I knew, it would have sealed off that area myself.
So basically I am out 650.00 due to either poor workmanship or incompetence of the body shop not to letting me know that the rust would return in only 12 months. Unless you are having your vehicle fixed to turn it in for a trade; don't have it repaired by Maaco. I tried 4 times to ask Maaco to remedy this issue and after each time was that they won't repair it at their cost and maybe give me a discounted price to re-do it. My warning to you is not to do any rust repair at Maaco. They will just take your money and the rust will return. Save your money and go elsewhere and get a quality repair. I would give it NO stars if possible.

For what I was paying, I thought they'd actually apply paint to the entire bumper. Not so... They sprayed just enough paint to cover the 3" x 3" bodywork area (they did blend that in well enough), then applied a single coat of clear coat to the entire bumper. Now all my little scratches and dings show up very nicely. Oh, and they take no responsibility for over-spray that is clearly their fault.

I chose my color and they said it would take around a week to finish.
My car ended up taking more than two weeks to finish and when I got it back they had painted it the wrong color. I had asked for black paint and they gave me a weird almost black purple color. They had also gotten paint all over the trims and didn’t even get all of the wrap off the car, they just painted over it. There were also air bubbles, smudges in the paint, and even in some places they didn’t even fully cover the actual color of my car. The overall review of the paint job is a 1 out of 10. My husband went on the 24th of September and spoke with Omar, who stated to bring the car back on Monday and they would take care of the problem, as it is still under the one year warranty. We dropped the car off on Sunday, Sept. 30, for Monday job completion. I just called to inquire about the status of the car today at 2:30 pm 10/01/2018, Irving states that my car is not under warranty and that the bumper requires body work and that they never touched my bumper, that they only did the rear passenger door. I asked him several times if he was confusing me with someone else, he stated no.
I told him that they painted my entire car. I also, asked why they had not begun work. He claims they have tried calling my husband several times and he hasn't answered. I informed Irving that I spoke with my husband about an hour ago and he had not received any calls from them. He had no missed calls and that is why I was calling. Irving goes on to say that we have no warranty. I told him I would contact my husband and he will be calling them and that they need to honor the warranty. In the middle of my sentence Irving hung up on me. Total lack of professionalism. I will never use Maaco again. Maaco gives you the runaround and do not stand behind their work. They make excuses and continuous try to charge you extra money. Lucky for me Maaco, I have all my paperwork, even the last one from Omar, so get it right or get ready. And I have no problem sharing this story with any and everybody on social media.

Brought my older truck to get a paint job. It was a flat black with 3 small rust holes. We were told they cannot warranty the paint due to the current paint and they don't strip down. They did state it would be car show quality. To my surprise, they would not only not warranty their paint but they won't warranty their workmanship.
Both the Fridley, MN shop and corporate headquarters would not correct or refund their workmanship flaws. The flaws include missed paint spots, paint chips like a tool hit the new paint and severe paint runs. When I pointed out the paint runs, one worker agreed these were paint runs and would need to be fixed. The store manager argued these were flaws part of my car even though I have pictures showing a smooth body before their work. They agreed to fix the paint chip but really only applied some paint without the sealer or smoothing. For the paint chip, they literally gave me some touch up paint for me to correct myself. When I pointed out the missing sealcoat, their solution was for me to use clear finger nail polish. It really shows me a company who really doesn't respect cars, know what they are doing and don't care for the customer. Think twice before using Maaco.

Car was not ready on time. I was told I would get $50 back if the car wasn't ready after a week's time and it was not given. Brought car back because the driver door and back door were not lined up as promised. Never got my money back. I had to take my car to another place to get the door fixed right. MAACO made car worse. Air and rain coming through. Received attitude and they lied and tried to blame me for the car door. I don't even have the tools to remove the parts. So Maaco ripped me off $150 dollars. They had paint on the door handle and a few spots where it dripped. I paid over $3000 dollars. I don't see the two coats. Rip off. I know it was because I was a woman. Another woman had to bring back her car because it was not done correctly.

I brought my pick up in for some body work and a paint job. They told me it would take up to 10 days to finish. Also, I was told that I would be upgraded to the best paint job ($700 and change) because they were having a social promotion. Two weeks later I went by to find out what was taking so long. I was told that they needed until Friday to finish. Two days later (Wednesday) they called and said they were through. I went in to find that they had only painted the parts of the truck that were repaired and nothing else. I was told then that if I wanted a whole truck paint job that it would cost much more. I feel duped.

I took my 1990 Buick Reatta to Maaco in myrtle beach for midlevel paint job. When I picked my car up, paid the charge. Upon inspection I noticed that door jams were not painted, I was told that would be an additional $400.00. Door jams are not included in estimate, that seems weird because how do you give an estimate for whole car with door jams not included and why not tell the customer that up front. Once I arrived home I noticed that two spots on front, not hood but that little piece at the bottom (made of rubber or hard plastic) it looked like they had painted over a spider web or something... I immediately called and was told to bring the car back.
On Monday, I took my car back and was told that this is body damage and there would be an additional charge to repair. The manager/owner said that he would not charge for the paint. My question is if this was body damage, why would the technician paint over it, why was it not brought to my attention initially. This makes no sense to me. After leaving Maaco, I stopped in another body shop to get a second opinion. I was told that this is would not have occurred if the car had been buffed properly. I filed a complaint with Maaco corporate office, received a phone call from Manager of Maaco here in Myrtle Beach who stated "I told you what I am willing to do." This is not acceptable to me and to make matters worst, I'm told that the paint cannot be matched except by Maaco. I will advise everyone I know NOT to use Maaco because of their shoddy work and poor attitude.

When I took my van to Maaco to get an estimate on painting it, the salesman quoted me a good price after he walked around it. Then told me it will be ready in about a week. He called me a week later to tell me the van is ready but it's going to cost me an additional $160 to fix the broken rear windshield. I told him the windshield wasn't broken when I brought the van to the shop and added that I find it very strange that he’s calling me a week later after they finished painting it to tell me the windshield is broken. In other words, if the windshield was initially broken, it doesn’t take a week to notice it.
After a long argument, he told me he's going to check with his manager. He called me two days later to inform me the van is ready and they fixed the rear windshield. I noticed while I was checking my van that they missed fixing two major dents. When I brought that to his attention, he told me the dents were not covered and fixing them will cost more because they have to redo the work all over. He also said that I never asked him to fix them. When I asked him why he didn’t inform me that they cost more when he checked my van, he kept saying that I should have told him to fix the dents and that they lost money on repairing the rear window!
When I asked him about the cost, it was almost the same as for painting the whole car. He wouldn't even give me a discount because he claimed he lost money on the rear windshield (that they broke and wanted me to pay for). I had to wait another week for him to fix the dents. I finally picked up my van and drove it home. When I opened the truck, glass started falling from inside the body of the trunk. So when I returned to Maaco, they told me they didn't have a long hose to suck the broken glass. I told him they had almost a month to get a long hose. He told me they will get the hose by the end of the week. When I asked him why they didn't vacuum the broken glass, he gave me the worst excuse. He said their job is just to replace the glass and not to vacuum it.
Needless to say, I will never go back to that shop because they lie and have the worst customer service. Plus, they will quote you a low price at the beginning to get me in without telling you what that low price would really cover, then they doubled it when you find they missed some areas. Plus, the painting job was not professionally done.

A few months ago I got into minor fender bender. With my insurance company I went to Maaco on Williamson road. They quoted me $1500 and that they could take care of the damage in 5-7 business days. I dropped my car off on a Monday after getting into an accident on a Friday. It took them a month to get my car back to me. When I got my car back there was dirt in the clear coat and multiple areas of shoddy workmanship. They also oversprayed into my engine bay. It was very badly done. I went back and spoke to the manager Robert ** and he informed me that this isn’t their way of doing things and they wouldn’t be in business for 8- 9 years if it was. After talking with him we concluded that he would give me back part of my deductible as compensation and would I not leave a bad review for them and would live with the overspray and the defects.
I was good for about a month and noticed the clear coat on my hood was peeling away. I brought it to my insurance company and they reached out to Robert and asked him to contact me and he did not. I instead reached out to him myself and showed him the issues. He saw them and said he wanted to fix the issues. And that people make mistakes. I told him I appreciated his honesty and was willing to give him another chance to fix it. We scheduled my appt Tuesday of last week and I told him that I would have to take time off without my car and would need it back by Friday and he said they could do that. Friday comes I pick up my car and it looks great except for a new gash exposing a layer of paint on the front passenger door. When I asked Robert about it he said his guys weren’t on that side but they had been on that side replacing an emblem. They even had blue painters tape covering the emblem and he pulled it off and showed me.
I told him I take pics of my car all the time, and the family and I wash and wax it every week or so, I even showed him some pics of the car. His response? “Oh the damage isn’t in THAT picture." I was floored. The person who painted my car came out as well. I showed it to him. He shrugged and walked away. He completely denied the damage and asked me what I wanted to do. After holding my car hostage for a month to do a crappy job and then taking it hostage again for a week and giving me another defect I’m really at a loss as to how these people are continually getting away with doing this to people. I simply told him "Thank you" for the "Work" they did and took my keys and left.
This is my transportation to and from work. This is the car my family and I ride to church in on Sundays, We wash and wax it together as a family, and we know every inch of this car. This damage was NOT there. I also have L.E.D. Projectors that shine on the ground when the doors are opened. Mysteriously, they stopped working as well. But I’d imagine that has nothing to do with them right? After all they don’t know that happened to my car that was in their care for a week, nor how it popped up with the new damage and issues.
My suggestion? FIND A BETTER PLACE TO GO TO GET YOUR WORK DONE. These people obviously don’t care about what they do, and simply do whatever to get by. After looking me in the eyes and telling me that He would take care of an issue THEY CREATED, only to do me dirty and lie in my face, Robert Is wearing the mask of a SHADY BUSINESSMAN to me. And I will tell all who will listen my story, and to stay FAR FAR AWAY from MAACO ON WILLIAMSON ROAD N.W.

Painted out 83' El Camino - We went to the local store in Clackamas, Oregon. A) it was close. B) They quoted a decent price albeit more than we wanted to pay. But C) they said 5-8 days a complete job of "our" choice of paint color. We chose, a Metallic Marrone as was stock, and I had asked to do the door jambs and hood edges tailgate area. We paid extra for a stripe to replace a chrome that was not on the side edges in color of a light bronze.
22 days later, after fully waiting out their rhetoric of why it wasn't ready, we went to pick up. A bright RED car with a yellow stripe down the side!! We complained about that and they said That was the color we chose. NOT so after some talking They mentioned a complete sand down and repaint of OUR color. +1000.00 more and after they called to pick it up it was closer to the color, but it looks like they sprayed it from 10 feet away and there are bubbles and overspray all over the car. These people could not paint a paper bag... Never recommend this shop, or any shop with a Maaco sign on it.

Told me after the fact they told me it was extra and I said no, totally untrue because I would have kept my Silver. Upon arrival to pick up car first I paid balance off left to return rental went back. Owner gave me keys stated car was in the back. He didn't bother to go with me for review of car. Saw my car and anxiety kicked in. My car was painted Green. Stayed in area about 15 mins in disgust. He never came to area.
I left to calm myself, got a review on my phone from them gave thumbs down for HORRIBLE paint job. They called and I later returned the call to set up appointment for return per their pamphlet. Within 5 days took off work, went back. Owner was driving off upon my arrival. Was told by female assistant I had to come back the following day. She matched it with the color I chose stated it match and that was Maaco's Color. I said, "You could visibly see it's Green."
Bottom line they refuse to make it right and others need to be AWARE! I took a survey of Strangers asking them what color they see. It ranged from Sage Green, Gauntlet, Blue Green, light Green, Blue etc. No one said Smokey Grey! Before leaving car I told both I had pictures of Smokey Grey vehicles. Was told, "You can't tell with pictures." Asked to speak to the Painter was told No! It's obvious their color chart doesn't match color I wanted. All my paperwork has Smokey Grey but my car is Green! I took my truck to Maaco for body work and a paint job. The manager went out to look at it to give me an estimate. We walked around the truck in which he asked me about which dents I wanted repaired. I pointed out each one, (none of the dents were big but they were noticeable). So after he wrote up the core of the work, we went back in the office area so he could give me the quote. I looked over the quote and agreed to the price and was told to bring it back the following week. The truck was dropped the next week and a week and a half later I was told I could pick it up.
When I pulled up, I notice something didn't look right. As I approached the truck I notice the dents were still on the truck! They painted over all the dents in the truck! The grill, wheel well and the windows had overspray on them. Then when I asked the manager about it, he said taking the dents out wasn't on the ticket. I asked him why he would think I would want to paint my truck with dents still in it especially when I know we discussed about taking them out. His answer was that they could fix them but it would cost me more money. So now I have a truck with nice shiny paint with dents all over it. I feel they should have corrected this, but they won't, and would never advise anyone to go to them.

Maaco took my son’s $2300, telling him the engine light would go out in a couple days. The car didn’t run for 24 hours, quit in traffic, and was towed to salvage. Mathew ** and Vinh ** use deception and lies of omission to hide the truth from the customer. Maaco hides behind a single line at the bottom of their estimates, “I understand Maaco will not be responsible for mechanical failure or for loss or damage to cars due to causes beyond their control.” Maaco has you sign this document before working on the car!
DO NOT do business with Maaco, Bellingham. They lack integrity, honesty or common courtesy. All cars placed on the road since 1980 have internal computer control units and may have up to 50 microprocessors. ANY collision repair today requires an experienced auto technician run computer and engine diagnostics to properly repair the car. Do not be fooled by the promises of Mathew ** or Vinh **. Company has not only damaged parts of the vehicle but has also had vehicle for now 2.5 weeks. Images have been taken of work/damages as well. On March 19, 2018 F-150 was dropped off to get a new paint job/repairs to be done due to an insurance claim. Was told the vehicle will be completed and ready for pick up on Friday March 23, 2018. During that time when we dropped vehicle off we asked about decals being put back on. They stated they could get the decals and let us know how much. After not receiving any information for two days we went into a panic and decided to find them our self (had to go to two different Ford dealerships) and delivered them on Thursday Morning at which the truck was outside with minor repairs done before it needed to be painted. Therefore, that already told me the vehicle would not be done the following day as it had not even been started to be painted.
When calling around lunch time to make sure vehicle was ready was told that the vehicle wouldn't be ready until Monday March 26, 2018 due to power outage and employee issues. On Monday March 26, 2018 called to check on vehicle. Was now told it would be Tuesday March 27, 2018 in the afternoon that the vehicle was at that time entering the paint booth. Tuesday March 27, 2018 was told the vehicle would at this point not be ready until Thursday March 29, 2018. At this point, we called corporate to file a complaint due to the fact this vehicle was needed Thursday morning at 5am. Maaco Corporate Reference # ** and that a supervisor within 48 hours would contact us. Went to the actual location to figure out a resolution where we then dealt with Dennis and the District Manager Jeff.
We had fenders that wanted to be done as well (painted and installed) instead of a rental car (which they were only planning to cover for a couple days and that the vacation that the vehicle was needed for wasn't their fault as they stated). We offered to go ahead and let them paint and install the fenders at a discounted rate of $200.00. We stated we would go ahead and leave the vehicle (obviously without a choice at this point) and would pick up vehicle on that following Monday April 2, 2018. We ended up not getting in town until April 3, 2018. After showing up (around 3:30PM) we were mortified over what we saw. The vehicle looked like it had been painted by an amateur company. Not to mention the decals that we paid ($77.00 a piece for and had 2) they were completely bubbled and one of them was crooked and cut.
We showed Dennis and he agreed they looked horrible, immediately took them off before I could even get a picture of them and stated he will order 2 more today. The vehicle seemed it had MAYBE one clear coat applied too and was dull. Not to mention, after inspecting vehicle with Dennis was when noticeable issues continued. Paint sprayed on carpet, wires were left out in front of vehicle (they didn't even put them back), there is a dent that was not there when vehicle was delivered and has a fresh dent along with the fact it was done AFTER BLUE paint was installed showing obvious signs it was done prior to painting the vehicle as the vehicle was black before. The cover plate when drive door was opened, was popped up not even put back along with a good bit of paint sprayed on it.
Along with all of that, truck trim was not replaced back and/or missing. Places on the truck where there was no paint even applied and the original color was still visible. Number keypad entry had been painted and nobody cared to try and clean it off. Plastic trim all along truck included the grill, plastic parts on both mirrors, tail lights, Step boards, and back tailgate had all been sprayed carelessly when those are in fact not suppose to be sprayed. Door handles on truck (all 4) had been barely painted and looked horrible. Dennis stated there was nothing they could do for a rental vehicle. Stated that he couldn't even get the vehicle back in to fix for 2 WEEKS on top of repairing/painting. Now, company will not answer our phone calls. Vehicle was left on property. Still no resolution has been made for a spare vehicle nor next action.

I Had car painted at Maaco 3641 Bonny Road, VA Beach, VA 23452 (Center M1533). Painted on 4/17/2015 at a cost of $2,500.00. When I had it painted I said I wanted their best job and I was assured that the $2,500.00 was top of the line. I was given warranty papers that state that the base coat/clear coat is warrantied for full coverage for 36 months. The paint on the front bumper cover has started to bubble and crack and the rear bumper cover has paint cracking and peeling. The person who checked the car said that the front bumper was damaged by something (maybe a collision), he also said the real damage was from a collision of some kind. Other than the paint peeling there is no evidence of a collision, he assured me that because he had been doing this type of work for a long period of time he knew it was a collision by the way the paint was peeling, I asked him to show me evidence of a collision which he could not, no dents, dings, or scratches!
Without evidence of a collision and with me telling him that there had been no collision, his decision was final. I was a bit upset that Maaco would not honor the warranty so I may have had a few heated words for this person. The problem is that what he said was definitive, no person above him to complain to. He just turned around and walked away. It's not worth the cost and inconvenience of getting a lawyer, and I'm sure they know that. ANYONE in the market for a paint job steer clear of this place. If you need warranty work you won't get it! And the Jerk that took my order in the beginning was most helpful as I handed him the payment, however; when I asked for warranty work you would think I had asked him if I could pull his teeth!

The package I chose clearly came with a 3-4 year warranty, but after the job was complete they told me that my package didn't have a warranty, and only my hood was covered. Then they tried to make me sign for saying I received warranty paperwork that I did not received, and have not received until this day.
I called the corporate office, but since it's locally owned it wasn't anything they can do. The employees are very unprofessional. DO NOT go here for anything. I should have listen to the reviews posted by other customers. I could have saved $1,200. I hate that I wasted my deployment cash at this establishment. STAY AWAY!!!

I just got my car back from Maaco, MA. Really a nightmare. If you want to throw your car away and your money away, go to Maaco. I promise after working, you will not love your car anymore. Thousands fish eyes and bubbles on the new painting. And take me 2 weeks. They even did not install the panel in a right way, and broke them! Not only one part. DO NOT GO TO MAACO TO PAINT YOUR CAR. Believe me.

I hope there is enough space for my comments. You might want to get a coke and pop corn if you read my story because you won't believe it. My situation began July 18, 2017 and ended September 2, 2017. I went in on July 18 to get an estimate on the cost to paint my 2011 metallic gold Buick Lacrosse. When I got there I was greeted by ** and I asked him to give me an estimate; so we went out to look at my car. He looked all around the car to assess it. He then asked me if I'm sure that I want the entire car painted; so I asked him why. He said he didn't think it needed to be done, but I said that I want the entire car painted. I said that I wanted the discoloration of the roof on the back driver side repaired and blend the paint so it matches.
** saw where on the passenger side there was a dent to be repaired, the front and rear bumper repaired and painted and the rest of the car had residue of sap from a tree that I wanted removed and painted as well as the hood repaired and painted. So we went in to see which paint I wanted and we decided on the urethane coating which is 699.00 plus tax. He figured it out and scheduled it for Monday August 7 which was the day I started my vacation. I asked him how long it would take to complete and he said Friday August 11. I asked him because I would need to rent a car until it was finished.
So I took my car there August 7 at 7:30 am where ** was waiting for me (I guess). He asked me again if I really wanted to get the whole car painted, so I asked him again why he asked me that. He said that they couldn't match the paint exactly so he reassessed it and came up with the quote of 663.42. I pressed him to confirm that my car would be ready on Friday. So Enterprise came to pick me up and I signed the contract for four days car rental.
So Friday morning came and I haven't heard from Maaco, so I called them and ** answered. I told him who I am and asked if my car was ready and he said no. I reminded him that he told me that it would be ready on Friday, then he said, "We'll get right on it." So I called Enterprise and told them my dilemma and they kindly extended me the weekly rate and said they would charge me only for the extra day(s). I then called Maaco and told them that they are responsible for the extra day. He said that he would have to check with his manager, hence I called the corporate office and I spoke with ** who is the district manager and told her what I had been dealing with.
She assured me that she would look into it for me. I went to pick my car up Monday August 14, a week later. It was raining when I arrived and I couldn't tell what was done. ** came out and I pointed out to him the roughness of the roof and I said that I'd bring it back another day. I called the next day when I felt the quarters of the car and it still had the sap residue and discoloration on the roof. When I got there that Wednesday ** and ** acted annoyed that I brought the car back and treated me poorly. I took ** and ** to my car and showed them; that's when ** disputed me that I didn't tell him about the spot on the roof but he couldn't explain why the sap hadn't been sanded/buffed. So he reluctantly wrote an invoice for the roof because he didn't charge me for that, which I felt I shouldn't have been charged for it since it was his inattentiveness that was the reason it wasn't done. Hence I had to rent another car for this to be done.
So on Saturday August 19 I went in to drop off my car, and ** who knew that I would be coming was at the desk. And without even looking up he curtly said, "We're closed" and I reminded him that I was leaving my car for the repairs to be done. I rented a car for another 4 days and I went to pick it up Wednesday August 23 and the sap is still there but the spot on the roof was done and the roof was painted. I showed them the hood had scratches on it also. I then noticed that my remote to my car wouldn't lock my car so I thought it was just a malfunction.
I took the remote to a jeweler August 25 to see if it needed a battery. He opened the compartment and he told me that it had water in it. I guess someone submerged it in water as my punishment for bringing the car back. Thus I had to go to Buick to get another remote which costs 201.16. I told ** what had happened and she said she would talk with **. I made an appointment to see **, manager Monday August 28 at 1 pm. When I got there everyone seemed annoyed that they had to see me again. So we went out to look at the car where I pointed out the sap, scratches on hood and paint chipping from the front bumper as well as scratches on the rear bumper.
** and ** wanted to blame me for the paint chipping and the scratches on the hood. He verbally agreed to do wet sand, and buff the rest of the car, remove the scratches on the bumper and blend paint. So we scheduled it for Thursday August 31 and I would pick the car up Saturday September 2, so I rented the third car for 2 days. They know that I get off from work at noon and they said that they will stay open until I get there.
I contacted ** again to let her know I was still having problems with them and I would not come to Maaco again even if I had to pay more to get my car painted. So I got there to get my car around 12:29 pm. When I arrived there were no cars in the lot so I went to the door and it was locked. I walked around back where the gate was opened and saw my car parked between two cars, then I knocked on the front door and no one answered. I walked to the back again when I noticed the trunk was open, that's when ** came out and said that I wasn't supposed to be back there where I told him that the front door was locked and I was picking up my car. He then said he didn't know what ** had told me. I told him that they should communicate better.
I texted ** to let her know I was there. ** took his sweet time bringing my car to me. He took at least 15 minutes, and after he brought the car out of the gate he then took his time to take pictures of the car, which he should have done that earlier. I finally got the car and the quarters of the car still felt rough like it did July 18. I decided that I was finished with Maaco. I also discovered that I am not able to open the trunk manually, so I don't know what they did but I contacted ** to ask her to call me because I would not deal with ** anymore. It rained today September 5 and after the rain the quarters felt smoother but not like the other areas that were painted and buffed better.
So to recap I had to make 5 trips there and back, car rental three times and spend 201.16 for a new car remote. I spent over 800.00 for the paint job, 300.00 for car rental. With all of these expenses I spent more for a full body paint that I didn't get, so the moral of this story is to save your money and go to a "reputable" paint and body shop. If you go online you will see many Maaco reviews across the country. This shop is 2450 S Military Trail West Palm Beach FL 33415. Thank you ** for your help, but you can't babysit each body shop.

I took my car to Maaco to repaint my driver side of the door, which required buffing down scratches before painting. I dropped my SUV off Tuesday at 12:30. They told me it would be done by Thursday, I called Thursday and they said it will be done Saturday by 12. Therefore, I put in a request to keep the rental car until Saturday. I was called Friday 1 1/2 hours before closing to come and pick up my SUV. I told them that wasn't enough notice to run up there (30 min away) so they said "be here Saturday by 9 am." I was there Saturday at 8:30. At 9 the young lady told me my car wasn't done and that they needed another 30 min. I waited, and they drove the car up while I went inside to pay. When I came out my wife was upset. White stuff was all in the inside on the floor and on the seats. It looked like they buffed the SUV while the windows were down.
Nothing was put on the floor to protect my floor mats. There were footprints on the driver side, the passenger side and back floor. The paint job was horrible. The dark black is not the same as the black on my SUV. My SUV has a black tone with small sparklers in it. You can see the different color black. Still I was like, "Okay we will just get it painted again somewhere else."
Then my wife got in the car and noticed my front window was busted. We called the lady out and she said maybe we brought it in like that. WE DIDN'T. She said she will have to look at the camera to see if we brought it in like that, I said great. However, they didn't really have cameras directed at the angles she said. She told me to go home and they will contact me. I refused to leave without calling my insurance company who said to also make a police report. I heard nothing from corporate or this lady re-guiding my busted window. The only thing I can do now is pay for my window and sue them in small claims court. I guess I wouldn't be this upset if someone acted like they cared. No calls no nothing, as if this never happened.

They got fully paid. After Repair, they told me that their repair have a lifetime warranty. In less than 6 months, I noticed the paint is already coming off. I took it back to them for repaint of the part coming off, they were so ferocious and rude, boasting they would not repaint it. It was the worst customer service and breach of warranty that I ever know. Please NEVER take your car to this people.

The Negative: After inspecting the issues with my car after a full paint job, here is a full list of feedback: overspray on lower fog lights, overspray on right front turn signal, overspray on top hood channel inlets, overspray on left driver rear view mirror plastic, 2 inch deep scratch in black driver door window panel, masking tape left in various places, slightly bent $250 key fob, key fob no longer closes properly, full overspray on the 2 front radiators, not just a little paint but completely covered in thick paint causing radiators to absorb less air through fins which can potentially overheat the car, the left passenger door has a 2 x 2 foot clear plastic film (to protect from small rocks) that was painted over and looks terrible.
When we went over the initial estimate, Maaco clearly mentioned they do not paint over plastic surfaces (exact wording, not "plastic bumpers" or anything different). This led me to believe they would not paint over this plastic film. Unfortunately, they painted over it so now it looks completely different than the rest of the car. Cracked and bubbly.
Have attempted to approach the owner on 2 occasions regarding the plastic film issue. He mentioned he can fix the plastic surface for an additional charge. In my opinion, this is unreasonable and should have been initially addressed. With Maaco's experience, one would expect they have encountered these small clear plastic films in the past. Matter of fact, the owner confirmed they have seen these before once I approached him. And knew they look terrible when painted.
Knowing this, you would think a paint shop would at least contact the customer before painting over it. I would have been happy to pay additional charges before to remove the plastic film. It would have taken exactly 3 minutes to heat it up with a blow dryer and peel it off, then wipe the glue off. After discussing the issue with the owner, he mentioned they left the film on there because I did not specifically ask for it to be removed. As I am not a licensed paint engineer that knows how surfaces react to paint, I was leaning on them for expertise and advice for the money they got paid.
The owner (Josh) also seemed upset when I asked for the issue to be corrected and if possible to speak to the franchise owner. The exact reply was: "I am the owner. You come in here trying to go over my head over something you should have known?!" A reasonable person would have reviewed the work order and seen that "remove clear plastic film" was not on there, and asked for it to be removed if wanted. What are you gonna do, sue me? Go ahead." This response leads me to believe this is not the first time they do this. Before going here, I strongly encourage you to read the many other negative reviews on www.consumeraffairs.com, ** , Facebook and **.
The Positive: other than the issues listed above, rest of paint looks good, the Preferred MAACOVER paint job has a 3 year warranty, they completed the job within 4 business days, they provided the paint job at a lower price initially (however, he did quote $400 for 8 hours of prep work to remove the hood and top, which seems high for something that would take 1 hr). Overall, a lot of time, money and energy wasted, for the car to look less than desired / what was paid for. Have two friends that needed to get their cars repainted and will not be recommending this place.

I took my car to MAACO in Stockbridge Georgia. I was told to drop it off on Monday and it would be ready on Friday. I needed the left fender, rear bumper and spoiler repainted. The left fender and spoiler looked ok. The rear bumper was repaired, but wasn't painted entirely. It was like they did a rush job. They also chipped my front bumper and said it was like that once I brought it in. There was also over-spray on the driver side bumper.
The worst part was their customer service skills. One lady did not want me to inspect my car back. She said it was hot outside. Once I spoke to the manager, she was complaining that her husband had an emergency and needed to get off the phone. Let's see what it's going to look like when they finish. However up to this point, I am not impressed. Furthermore, you cannot file a complaint with corporate because the voicemail is full. I see why. I live in the San Antonio, TX area and had my 2002 Ford F150 painted by Maaco. Now mind you my truck is an 2002. I did not expect perfection on my truck. Just a decent paint job. My truck's roof was delaminated and past the primer. It had rust and I was worried that eventually it would rust all the way through and water would start getting in causing worse problems. This is my daily driver. Now my truck was in pretty bad shape paint wise. All original paint from the manufacturer. It was a two tone paint job from the manufacturer. To keep it cheap I decided to go one color... All white. It was white with a bottom beige color.
I paid $1300 even. They did a decent sand job and fixed some dings it had but not all of them. My main concern was the rusted roof area and a scrape that some person did at Walmart. A hit and run. I went with a urethane with clear coat mixed in not the urethane + IC. I am satisfied big time compared to the way the truck looked. I wasn't going to pay $3,000-$6,000 for a paint job. In that case I would just buy another used car. I would never take a 2010 or newer vehicle to Maaco.
In my situation it worked out. The age of my truck and the way its paint job looked Maaco did a fantastic job with my truck. It looks good all white and in way better shape than before. I went in knowing Maaco doesn't do perfect paint jobs. I removed almost all black plastic trim that I avoid over spray. I got lucky that they did a really good tape job. Could they have done a better sanding and paint job... Sure but I've gotten many good compliments since being painted. Plus all the black trim I removed I cleaned and painted black myself before reinstallation. So my truck looks really clean now. I'm satisfied.

I got an estimate for rust repair and paint work from the MAACO franchise on Highway 78 in Loganville, GA on May 30th, 2017. They told me to bring it in the next day, they'd have to have it for 6 calendar days. They also told me they'd call and keep me updated on progress if for some reason they could not meet the time frame. I was okay with that, but after 8 days when I hadn't heard anything, I called and was told it would be painted that day and available that evening. Which it wasn't. I was told they'd call to confirm that it'd be ready that evening - they didn't.
Over the next two weeks, I was told at various times that they'd painted the base coat and were waiting to paint the clear coat (I had only bought a one-coat, cheaper job), that they needed to re-sand and repaint due to scratches, that the metallic ran in my paint and it would need repainted, and told on three other occasions that it would be ready that evening - which it never was. I asked at each of these contacts (which I made myself as they never called me unsolicited) that they call me and let me know of progress and when I could pick it up - they never did.
After 21 days without my car, I called corporate and spoke to Jasmine, who said she'd look into it. I got a call shortly after from the franchise, telling me my car would be ready the next day. I told them I would not accept the car back without a 25% discount off the bill, which they agreed to. My car wasn't ready the next day, but was ready the following day. They didn't call me, again I had to call them. When I went to pay, they attempted to give me $50 off the bill, when they'd agreed to $210. They finally adjusted the 25%, and my car initially looks okay. It's not the right color, too light, doesn't appear to have ANY metallic in it at all, and they did not replace the pinstripes. But I'm tired of all this business by now, just want my car back and to get out of there, so I get in it to start it. And it turns out that, while they've had it, they tripped the anti-theft alarm in the car and it has to be towed to the dealer.
The manager, a young rude kid, tried to tell me it wasn't their responsibility - I told them it HAD to be. If it was like that when I brought it in, I couldn't have brought it in! They refused to help with the towing, or even to recommend anyone that maybe they deal with so I could get a break - nothing. Fortunately, I was able to get the anti-theft bypassed, had a friend jump my car (they couldn't even do that!), and was able to get out of there.
Heart of the matter is, don't use this MAACO location in Loganville, Georgia. It is a newer franchise, don't know who owns it but I only ever talked to and saw young, early 20's kids, who are irresponsible, unaccountable and have literally no customer service skills or concern for a customer. They do not care about your car, your job or your needs. If you elect to have work done there, I'm sure you will regret it. By far, the worst customer service experience I've ever had in 58 years. Spend a little more and get real quality work done... someplace else.

Since your customer service submission form doesn't seem to work I will be sending this here and requesting it be forwarded to the proper department for review and response. This was our first and very last experience with Maaco. My boyfriend and I dropped our car off on May 11th in Pawtucket, RI, they told us a week ahead of time that it typically takes 3 days to do what we needed done to our back bumper on our new car. Due to my boyfriend's schedule they promised us they could get it done in two days as long as we were able to drop the car off first thing in the morning on May 11, so we did. We planned on picking the car up Friday right before closing time. We heard nothing all day Friday, so we called and they said it should be finished around 3. We finally received a call around 3:30 saying someone was hurt and the car was unable to be finished and we couldn't pick it up until Monday.
So what was initially supposed to be a 3 day job went from being a 2 day job and ultimately ended up being a 5 day job. This chain of events lead to my boyfriend not being able to work his 6 hour shift at work on Friday, a loss of about 80 dollars. We then had to rent a car for two days so he could get to work Sunday and Monday. Maaco did cover the cost of our rental which is helpful but what happens next is why I'm writing this message. When we finally got to pick the car up on Monday not only were we out 80 dollars from his missed shift but we had to pay a family member to drive all over the place to bring him to and from the rental place, his house, to Maaco twice.
We pick the car up Monday and the battery is dead, WHY? What we needed done was body work. The car was literally purchased a month ago. Never had a battery issue and is a certified 2014 Camry. If the battery was no good they would have replaced it when we purchased the car ONE MONTH AGO. Anyways, we take the car home finally and my 11 year old daughter had left THREE dollars in her little cup holder area in the back and it was gone. Seriously? Someone had to steal 3 measly dollars out of the back of our car? I feel stupid even complaining about it but I feel like I need to because all of this has been such a bad experience but I cannot believe someone would take 3 dollars from someone's vehicle. Totally ridiculous.
I will forever forbid him from bringing out car there for anything ever again. So disappointed in all of this and just at a loss. It was the most frustrating and disappointing experience. And now I will have to find another place to do body work since we planned on having the hood of the car painted after the summer. But not here, no way. Wish I could give ZERO stars.

Also I am aware that there will be some overspray but it was excessive on my vehicle's wheels which I had just purchased prior to have car painted. I was also told that my car could be picked up SAT between 10 am - 12 noon. When I arrived the business was closed. When I called on Monday to inquire about this the response was there was construction blocking the entrance. Jefferson Davis HWY Richmond Va - My husband and I came in for a total change color on his car. The 2 men at the desk were great. They answered our questions and provided great customer service. However, once we went to pick up the car, we had a few issues. 1st they couldn't find his license plates. Ok no biggie. Things happen. Then when the guy working on the car put them on, they didn't put on the rear license plate cover. Ok wait, wait, wait for them to find that and get that put on. Next, his back seats had muddy footprints all over the outer edges. I don't know about car painting so maybe they need to get into the backseat for easier access to whatever they cover up not being painted BUT the footprints were very noticeable on the leather seats so why don't you use shoe covers or at the very least, clean the seats!!
The footprints were hard to miss. When we got into the car, we noticed the CD had been changed. He has a 6 cd changer and when we dropped off the car the day before he had just bought a cd and had been listening to it...now there was another CD in the changer. Also alarming was that when we turned the car on, the stereo was blasting which was not how we left it. Yes the radio was left "on" when we turned the car off but it was certainly NOT with the stereo blasting. As we drove off from picking up the car, we noticed the speakers now had a rattle to them and were not clear. Thought maybe something shifted when they moved things around for the paint job so we went on home. Later that day when we went to drive the car, the speakers continued to rattle and the music was distorted.
As of yesterday, the speaker does not work! However the CD was mysteriously changed and the volume mysteriously put on blast, caused the speakers to go out. These are good quality Bose speakers and nothing wrong with them before we went to MAACO. I bring this to your attention as you may want to reiterate the importance of not messing with customer's things, just do the job they are paid to do. I can't prove MAACO did it. I realize this but I know the condition we left the car, the cd player and the speakers and now we have to replace the speakers because one doesn't even play. We made an appointment to bring my car in to have the color changed at the beginning of the month but seeing that now we have to spend unnecessary money to buy new speakers, we will get my car painted somewhere else once we get the speakers replaced.
Yes, you offer a great deal with 50% paint jobs, but it is a great deal when we have to buy a new Bose speaker which ultimately costs more than the 50% we saved from the paint job? We are just one set of customers in the bigger picture of your yearly business so my issue may not be considered significant to a big corporation but to us, you have lost future business, as my husband owns several trucks for his business that need bodywork and paint jobs which will not be brought to MAACO nor will we refer anyone. Again, one customer may not affect your bottom line but I thought it important to bring this to your attention.

I had my 2003 black Kia Spectra painted black at Maaco. It was an $800.00 paint job on special for $400.00. It ended up being $723.00 after the primer and sanding the bumpers. They estimated taking out the dents at $1000.00 which I declined. It came out beautiful!!! I am very pleased! The dents hardly show and it looks like a brand new car. Thank you Maaco. Also they estimated it would take 3 days and it did.

In August I took my 1995 Toyota Avalon to have the dents removed and painted. I had to take my car back on 3 different times due to the work not being done properly. On August 23rd, I took my car back because one of their employees spilled white paint on the trunk of my car and as a courtesy the owner at the Hensley location in Richmond rented me a car from Hertz rent a car on San Pablo Dam Road. Since then I've received a bill from Hertz in the amount of $32.55 where MAACO didn't pay the bill. In addition, the manager there has the worst customer service ever. She never returns calls when she says she will and staff has a poor attitude. I will never use them again!!!

They overcharge and cannot put a car back together after they take them apart. I won my complaint with BBB. Read the reviews on the Maaco website. I came here to have the whole front half of my car painted. The website states "With our attention to detail, you'll fall in love with your car again." Well, on the contrary, here's how they pay attention to detail: there was overspray on headlights and other parts of the car because no masking was done, when we checked the bumper it was painted on the face front but they forgot to paint the top, sides, and lower part of the bumper (I mean it. It's 3-D and you HAVE to paint all angles of it) and so many other details were passed over that I could have done the same job but better in a painting booth. I am very unsatisfied and deeply disappointed in the quality of work that I received at Maaco. I will NEVER have them paint my car again and I will NOT recommend Maaco for any painting service to anybody that I know. I actually "fell out of love with the car" after I saw the paint work.

Recently had my car (2010 Cadillac) painted at the Modesto, CA location. When I initially obtained an estimate, I was shown a vehicle that had just been painted as an example of the quality of work that I would receive. The resulting job had several air bubbles and or dust particles all over vehicle. When my concerns were brought to the attention of the owner, I was quoted the "imperfection clause" and that all cars are not the same. The paint job was totally unacceptable and I will pursue legal action. When I picked up the vehicle, the smell of alcohol was on the owner. Do not patronize this establishment.

I received an insurance claims check and took it to Maaco. The price was less 500 for my repairs meaning I should have been refunded. They initially told me that it would take 3 days to fix my car, they had it for 7, which left me carless. The owner kept telling me I would receive my refund in 2-3 business days. That time passed, no check. Over the next 4 weeks I was in contact every week and they kept giving me the runaround. Making promises every week that my check would arrive. 10/27/16, they told of my payment wasn't in the mail by the weekend to come in 10/31 and they would give me cash. I went and of course there was another excuse. I was once again told that the check would be cut and I would have it by today. Guess what? No check.
It's been a month and no one can tell me where my money is. The check cleared weeks ago. The work is great, but the unethical practices are absurd. I will be filing a lawsuit against Maaco. They are liars and crooks. Please pay in cash, with the correct amount and not a penny over. I also ended up calling the police who didn't help any, and the store manager started calling me horrible names. I was patient and kind. That was very upsetting as a customer. First off I'll point out I work in the automotive industry and am very familiar with paint and body work. I purchased a factory spoiler for my car and brought it to Maaco to have it painted. They called me the following day and told me it was done. When I got there the service advisor (maybe owner) asked me to unlock the car so he could load the wing in it. I thought he was going to bring it out through the front but for some reason he brought it out the back and started trying to load it in the car without me knowing.
I went out and immediately noticed the paint had blisters in it that popped while pressing them. I asked about them. He told me "that's normal, it's because it's a aftermarket wing." I told him that was unacceptable and explained it wasn't a aftermarket wing anyway. He said "well we can take it inside and talk to Peter, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing he's going to do".
As we got inside his temper started to show as he was swinging the spoiler around like it was a yoga ball. He ended up hitting a desk with it chipping the paint. As that happened Peter came out and asked what's up then said "oh well that wing needed a lot of body work done which he didn't ask to be done". (Keep in mind this wing is a factory wing which was primered it needed absolutely no body work).
When he was informed it was now chipped due to the advisor they agreed it would need to be redone. Two days later I receive a call that it was done. I go to pick it up. He has me sign the paperwork before releasing the wing. I receive the wing and immediately noticed runs on the bottom of it. Not feeling like another argument I load it in the car and bring it to the shop to install it when I noticed they managed to break the mounting bolt on the inside of the wing. I resolved that issue and mounted it then noticed the runs in the paint were so low that it was hitting the paint on the car. The pressure caused the paint to Crack and start peeling off the wing.
I brought the car to them to show them this time. I spoke to someone else who acknowledged the problem and asked me to drop the car off and let them remove the spoiler paint it and put it back on. I didn't feel comfortable going that route and so we agreed I could just bring the spoiler back the next business day and have it repainted.
The following day I bring the spoiler back and deal with the first service advisor who immediately brings me outside away from the other customers. He asked me what was wrong. I showed him the run. He looked at it then picked it off with his fingernail and said "that wasn't a run, in the paint." I then said, "Look. Here's another one." And again he grabs the cracked part of paint and breaks it off then tells me "oh that wasn't a run either, that's the fiberglass breaking off the wing."
I reminded him it wasn't a fiberglass wing then asked him to look at the spot. He just pulled off to see it was smooth primer not broken fiberglass. I then told him I was told to bring it in and have it redone. His response was "the only way that's getting done again is if you have it prepped and ready to be painted, and if you have a complaint after that I'll never spray anything for you or your business." Then handed the wing back to me turned around and walked inside.
I called maacos main number to find out if I could go to another location to have it looked and fixed. They asked me what happened. I explained. They told me they would get back to me within 2-3 days with a answer on another location. A week passed and so far the only call that was received was from the service advisor who called me employment to harass my boss about the whole ordeal. In the end I took it to another body shop to have it done. Don't throw your money out, go to another body shop.

We took our son's car to Maaco to have some small body work done, paid to have the best paint job they offer done, and to have a new windshield put in since the seal was leaking on the one in the car. We paid a total of $2,000+ for everything and they had the car for almost 3 weeks. When we picked the car up, it was raining so we couldn't see any flaws. Got home, got out of the car, shut the car door, and the windshield cracked. We called Maaco right away and they told us to bring it in the next day.
The next day when there was no rain we looked the car over before we took it back to Maaco and noticed that there was a thumbprint in the paint on the rear bumper, there were places all over the area around the wheel well where the paint did not adhere, 2 spots on the driver's side front fender where the Bondo was showing through the paint, and swirl marks all over the trunk, plus we noticed that they never put the Honda civic EX logo back on the car. My husband went to put the key in the door to open it and the entire lock assembly fell inside the door! We took the car back to Maaco and showed the manager, Anthony, all the spots where there were bad flaws on the car. His response was, "Well, Safelite put the windshield in and obviously didn't put it in right so they will have to come fix it, and Maaco will repair the thumbprint, swirl marks on the trunk, and Bondo spots, but will NOT fix the marks near the wheel well.
He told me outright that HIS PEOPLE didn't clean the oil off the area right, which made the paint not adhere, they call it fisheye, but refused to fix THEIR mistake. After telling him that I will file a lawsuit to have it fixed he agreed to fix it. We went to get the car back AGAIN, and the paint was somewhat fixed because there were still clearly visible swirl marks in the paint, some little popped paint bubbles that left marks... When we asked about the door lock and the Honda logo, we were told that they didn't do that to the door lock, even though it was fine when we took it there and they DID take it out to paint it. We were told that the car never had Honda logos on it so we showed him pictures of it when we dropped it off which clearly showed it did have them on. We, out of complete frustration, just left and my husband fixed the lock and bought new Honda logos.
We had the car for less than 1 week, my husband checked the oil, and when he closed the hood, NOT slammed it, closed it normally, a big chip of paint fell off of the hood lip. AGAIN, we had to call Maaco. The manager said it was our fault... My husband, an ASE certified auto tech for over 15 years, told him, the paint should never just crack and fall off from closing the hood and has never happened to him in all the years he has worked on vehicles. After acting like we did something wrong, they agreed to fix it.
By this time, we had the car to them 4 times and were fed up with their horrible work. My son had the car about 7 months and then sold it, and at the time of sale, the paint still had swirls all over it, bubble spots, large pieces of paint cracked off around headlights, and cracks in the paint. I will NEVER take anything to Maaco to be painted and will NEVER recommend them to anyone! Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else if you want a quality paint job.

Ordered 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander painted a cream color with the urethane upgrade. Original color was silver. Hood and front of roof had to be stripped as the original coating had cracked. Roof and side panel painting was satisfactory. However, the hood exhibits many small bumps and almost pinhole type imperfections. You can feel it when running your hand over the hood and viewing the vehicle under the garage lights. How long is it until the hood paint needs a redo? So much for the $220.00 worth of prep work.
We wanted the door jams to remain in their unblemished silver colors as they match all the interior trim and seating surfaces and look nice with the new exterior color. From the hood to the rear lift gate the masking was done with precision. The door jams were fully protected from overspray. However, when the tailgate is opened the interior silver rear-facing panels were the victim of callous overspray of the new exterior color. It is tacky and reduces the value of the vehicle. There was no reason for this and, obviously, there is no quality control. No one cared.
I didn't sign the customer completion satisfaction certificate. We were not able to fully inspect all the work at the Maaco shop as the first waves of Florida's first tropical storm of the season were fast approaching. We discovered the shoddy work as soon as we garaged the car and were able to do a full inspection. It is obvious that the incomplete surface prep work on the hood was not an oversight. It just wasn't completed. Given the care taken in the masking of the rest of the vehicle it is puzzling why the rear panels were so carelessly sprayed (they are now two-tone) and no one cared. We should have read the many revealing reviews before leaving our nice vehicle in the hands of Maaco. Yep, they got our money, we got an inferior job.

That wasn't the issue, it was their lack in calling to confirm that the paint would work the way Jimmy had described. Jimmy knew it would work as HE had done it before. There were NO calls and NO communication with either Jimmy or myself.
When I picked up the vehicle to surprise Jimmy, BOY was he surprised. They didn't return the leftover clear coat and the car is "orange peeled". I call at the end of that week, they say it won't be ready til next week Tuesday because the door needs to be painted. I call on the Tuesday to ensure it will be ready for pickup they say it won't be ready because they need to put a button on the door, where the key goes. I think this sounds kind of strange but I say, "OK". I think about it and call them back and say, "It's OK I will take the car without the button because I'm in a rental that I need to return and get back my car." I tell him this he says, "OK, what time will you come tomorrow morning?" I tell him, "8:15 am the next day." The next day I dropped off my rental which is right beside the mechanic shop.
Brian the "owner" calls me at 8:10 telling me the car isn't ready for pick up. I expressed to him, "Whether it's ready or not I will be picking it up as I stated yesterday. I can come back to fix the "button" or go somewhere else." I walk over the mechanic and ask for the key to get my vehicle and put some of my belongings from the rental in my car that I had planned to leave with. He says, "You can't have the key because the car isn't drivable, the door is completely off." I replied, "Why is the door off? You told me you had to put on a button where the key goes." I then asked for the key so I could pick it up after hours because I get out of work after their business hours. He said he would need the keys to move the car around. I then asked, "Why do you need to drive the car to fix a button? You can bring the car on the outside and fix the button." A big argument arose because they were obviously playing games.
I told them I would call the police if they didn't give me my car. He then begin talking about my deductible which I expressed to them had already been waived. I called the police and they told me if they don't give me my car at 6 pm today, then to give them a call. Brian then told me to get off the property because I'm trespassing. I expressed to him, "I don't have to get off the property because you have my car, I'm not trespassing." I went to find my vehicle to put my belongings and he was blocking me off and bracing me inappropriately. I found my car and the door was completely intact, contrary to what he had told me. He said the door was off. There was no button to be repaired.
The mechanic that was working on my vehicle told me that they were trying to get the window to up and down but it wouldn't. Why couldn't Brian have said that from the beginning instead of telling me all those lies? He was trying to bar me off from seeing my own vehicle because he knows he's lying. This is the worst experience I've ever had with any mechanic shop and I've seen some pretty crooked mechanics. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. On September 4, 2014 my husband and I took our car to Maaco be painted. After leaving the car for a paint job, we were never contacted when the car was ready. So we drove by Maaco one day and saw our car sitting in the parking lot. When we went to get the car and inspect the car, we could see a dent on the driver and passenger side doors that was never removed. When we spoke to the manager about this, he stated that he never noticed any dents. Also, the inner doors was not painted. 2015 of July, we took the car back to Maaco because the paint on the passenger door was beginning to fade near the door handle. The manager took a rag and buffed over the area and made it look shiny; in a few weeks, the area appeared like it was never painted. My husband was going to take his Corvette to Maaco to be painted, but after experiencing a very poor job on the Buick, he decided not to. I would not recommend anyone to take their cars to Maaco.

Save money and go to another paint shop, pass on MAACO. They told me it will take 3 days to paint my car and I am still waiting. It is day 4 and I give them a call to see if my car is completed. After 15 minutes on hold they said "No, the car should be completed by tomorrow". I called the shop the day before and it was the same response. All I hear from them is one excuse after another. The person I spoke to on the phone sounded very unsure about the whole situation. If they are going to guarantee that my paint job to be completed in 3 days it should be done in 3 days. Poor customer service and I will be updating my review once I get my car.

I took my husband's small Mazda pickup to the Maaco in Wellington, Florida. I was given a printed cost sheet, paid a deposit and made arrangements to bring the vehicle in the following day. After I left, I noticed there was a $75 charge for a large vehicle on the cost sheet. I called and asked Leo, the owner, about it and he said it was because they will have to tape all around the bed liner. I went in the next day and cancelled the appointment and was refunded my deposit. We took the bed liner out ourselves and I returned to Maaco the following week. I was given a better estimate (nearly $100 less) by Kim, I left a deposit again and made arrangements to bring the truck back.
By the time I got home she had called and said they need to speak with me. I called her back and she told me they couldn't do it for that price. I asked for the name and number of the regional manager and she put the owner, Leo on the phone. I asked him for the regional manager's name and number and he said he didn't have one. I asked him who he answers to and he said no one, I'm the owner. I said I was going to call the corporate office and he said "go ahead!" This is the first time in my life I've ever heard of a company not honoring a written estimate only an hour after it was given. I will go tomorrow and get my deposit back and never return to that Maaco.

Took them forever to paint my car. I was told all of the peeling areas would be sanded. Paid for sanding car areas that had peeling. Go to pick it up, stripes were left off, paint missing around windows, paint ALL over the black rubber and black parts of my car. Paint on windows. Had to take it back 3 times for paint to be applied to areas missed. Third time back, they called and said "oh where there is peeling around trunk, etc, it was not covered under original contract." Said that is new peeling areas. Awful funny that every area that has peeling, is where they missed painting. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE. Horrible customer service, horrible service all around.

Maaco was told to replace front bumper, front side/door driver panels, replace light and horn. Maaco gave estimate of 17 hours to fix. Car left first thing on Friday morning. Called Tuesday afternoon. Jeff said they didn't work on Sat/Sun & needed 2 days. Rental car extended to Wed. Jeff said only needed to be painted, ready Thursday am. No phone calls made to them, turned in rental car & went over to Maaco Thursday afternoon almost closing. Brian stated wouldn't be ready until Friday afternoon. Stated calling me. No phone calls were received at home as claimed by Brian. How many "problems" can crop up when you can't paint 3 panels on a car? Why was there no entry of any phone call from Maaco, nor did they return the calls of my insurance company, as told?

Thought they would give me a great paint job, only after a YEAR the paint was going bad and fading terribly on the car. It's been 5-6 yrs now and the car looks like total crap. Primer is showing through, pinstripes peeled off. DO NOT get your car painted at Maaco unless you're gonna sell it to someone else. For the money I paid, I could have had a really nice paint job somewhere else and still had the paint NOCE on my car. THANKS MAACO!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know about my experience with Maaco in high point NC on Westover Dr and how I was treated there. I went there wanting a custom paint on my Miata. I met up with whom I assume was the owner/Boss there. His name was frank. He was very rude from the start and seemed to have a real attitude problem. When we talked over what I wanted he suddenly said "I'm out." When I asked him what he meant by that he said "I mean I won't do it." He then walked back inside and left me standing in the parking lot. I can't recommend that anyone EVER goes there to have their car painted. I am still very upset about the way I was treated there and would urge you all to go elsewhere.

I went to the MAACO at Hialeah Garden in Miami to install a carbon fiber hood. They had asked me for a deposit of $100 to start the job (but I ended up giving them $150. My mistake) and told me that it would take a few days. After almost two weeks, I had to call them to find out that it was not ready yet and to my surprise they told me that they couldn't do the job. The only thing they had done was a small hole on the inside of hood. And guess how much they charged me for cutting that hole... You guessed it... $150. Not only that they do not treat customers with the respect they should, been proactive calling customers to tell them they are incompetent to do the job, but I had to find the hard way that I had paid for the most expensive tiny hole in my life..

I took my 1997 Jaguar to Maaco to get a estimate on just painting. When talking to the owner he assured me that they would take off everything. I paid for the highest quality paint job. When I got the car back the first time paint was rubbing off, overspray all over, on the leather, in the trunk and engine compartment, on connectors all over the under body, etc. Basically it was a mess. They took the car back and assured me it would be done right the second time. It was even worse. The underside of the rocker panels was not even painted. Overspray was worse. They bondoed the key latch to the trunk. Now I cannot get into my trunk unless by the switch. Broken cover panels in the engine compartment. I got a estimate to see what it would cost to clean up, $6000.00 to $12,000.00. I called their main headquarters only to be ignored. Never Again.

Virtually no prep work. They spray right over any chips, scratches or blemishes. Looks horrible and includes a lot of "fisheye" and "mottling." I bought the middle grade thinking it would be better. I was told everything would be sanded leading me to believe small blemishes would be removed. Not so, only the shine was lightly scuffed for adhesion. I was told they allow 1 hr prep; 1 hr tape; and 1 hr to paint. No possible chance for a decent paint job like that. As a retired paint and body man I was beyond disappointed and would be embarrassed to ask a customer to accept such shoddy work.

Can you give negative stars?? Their website says a paint job (no bodywork) takes 2-3 days. Try 29! And based on our experience, they'll probably have to repaint your car because they can't get the color right. They'll lie to you about when/if the car has been painted. They'll get over-spray all over places you don't want paint to be. They'll return your car filthy and with quite a bit less gasoline in your tank. The paint job will have runs and bubbles, polishing compound will still be all over the car. They'll damage the inside of your tailgate, AND they'll charge you $2229.85 or more for the privilege. And then when you call Corporate and demand to speak to the owner - Joe Tomberlin of ** - no one seems interested in helping you. Unless you're prepared to involve the news media and/or file a lawsuit, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY from these incompetent, unscrupulous, lying **.

Maaco Auto Repair of Alsip Illinois - Per the manager ** he stated the "Rear Entire" Passenger door of my Black BMW was supposed to be "Replaced" and only the outside panels were, and it's falling apart. I took the car back various times (3 times) because it keeps falling apart because they used the same damaged interior door, and only replaced the outside panels. I spoke with ** the manager, and told him that I want the old door to be given to me as proof that it was replaced, before the repairs, and they never gave it to me. This is when I was told only the "outside panels" were repaired and replaced and not the "entire door as promised".
The car was finished 9/10/2014. The same day I noticed the outside exterior panel was hanging and so they pushed it back in. I have been to the shop 3 times, for several reasons. It has an air leak, the interior door now wont open because it keeps coming apart. Now a 4th time I have to go in pay for a rental car, take off work too on Tuesday of next week again for repairs. The manager ** even had the audacity to get an attitude with me because I am fed up with going back and forward.

You get what you pay for pretty much. I had my Acura front bumper repainted due to a large gash on the lower right. Also had the rear replaced due to cracking from a minor impact with a Ballard. Now the front bumper is full of chips from driving not even a year, I was told from another body shop that it was not prepped right. Also rear bumper sticks out when sunlight is on it too long. Anyway I take the car back in which they inform me is not covered by their 5 year warranty. Now I'm spending 800 dollars more to have the front bumper repaired. Do yourselves a favor and stay the hell away from this corporation. They do unsatisfactory work.

When I came to pick the truck up the bucket was raised up in the air and the bucket would not work. The person I spoke to said that they by accident left the power running for 24 hours. They said they would fix it no problem. Week later they told me the problem solved. I went to pick it up. Make a long story short still did not work. They send it to another repair shop where my truck remains today. Maaco has refused to repair it. This truck has work fine for years until they touched it. I am losing revenue as every day goes by.
