We bought a GMC Sierra and the vehicle quit on us two times and the third time it quit it was in our driveway and a service Truck from Bull Motors where we bought the vehicle came a loaded the vehicle and to it to Wynne Arkansas and it has been there for over two weeks. Some lady named Laka from GM called me today and told me she would be waiting for 14 days to see why the fuel pump has been on back order. I went online and found the pump myself. I told the lady from GM that I found the pump online and because it is taking this long for them to get the pump I probably won't be buying GM anymore and if they do not get the pump ASAP after it has been up in Bull motors for two weeks, they have just about lost a customer in the future.

I'll start right from the beginning. First issue was with the truck lurching when putting it into Drive. Took it to the Welland Dealership and no issues found. 2nd Issue. Three times I had to take the truck in to get the radio replaced, the screen kept going black. On the third trip back to the dealership they finally replaced the Radio. 3rd Issue. Right side bank needed new lifters, Replaced them. 4th issue. Left side bank needed new lifters. 5th Issue. I've taken the truck back for service engine light flashing, nothing was done. 6th Issue. The truck is back in the Welland Ontario Dealership getting another set of lifters done on the right bank of the engine. Keep in mind this is a 2021 GMC Sierra Truck. Where is the Quality????

We held off on writing this review because we didn’t want it to be colored by wild emotions. But we are both feeling so taken advantage of that I think it’s time to share our experience. After spending a long 12-hour day driving from New York to Ohio we noticed a problem with our GMC Sierra truck and knew that it was something that needed to be handled by a professional. With a quick google search we found Perrysburg Automall and called to see if we could get an appointment and he (John E.) said “come on in”.

We pulled in on Wednesday at noon and crossed our fingers that it wouldn’t be a big issue and we’d be on our way soon. A mechanic took a look and decided that it must have been bad DEF and suggested that we would need to have the DEF tank dropped and drained at a cost of $600. That was not the fix and on Thursday he said that we needed to replace a NOx sensor, at a cost of $700. That also did not solve the problem.

On Friday the service manager said that they had reached out to GM tech support and were waiting for feedback from them. I asked if their mechanics ever worked on Saturdays. He replied sometimes, but I found out that he did not come in that Saturday to work on our car. Until this point we were stranded in our travel trailer in the parking lot of the dealership when it occurred to us that most dealerships offer a loaner car when your vehicle is in for servicing, so we asked and we were able to have a loaner car. So glad that we asked because it was not offered.

On Monday the dealership heard back from GM tech support who suggested that we would need to replace the diesel particulate filter at a cost of approximately $3000. They also mentioned that the part would be hard to find as their initial search revealed nothing. The service manager said he would be back in touch with us by Thursday, either way. On Wednesday my husband called to check in with John. No luck, and it may actually take two weeks to get the part. At this point we were waiting for an entire week.

When we got this bit of news, we decided to call customer service at GM. It doesn’t make any sense to us that a car manufacturing company would not be able to help find a needed part to make a repair to one of their own vehicles. The customer service department was not able to help us find the part either. That evening we were telling the tale of our bad luck to the campground supervisor and she mentioned that there were great diesel mechanics in a nearby town called Findlay.

The next day we called two different car dealers in the Findlay area asking for their help to find the needed part. One of them gave us the name of a dealer that was quite helpful and gave us the number for another dealer to try. We called this dealer and were very pleased to find that they had one in stock. We got all the details and planned to drive right there to pick it up. My husband called John back to tell him we found the part and we would go pick it up in our loaner truck, John responded by saying the dealership didn’t like their loaner vehicles going on long trips, it was an hour each way! When I called John, he said he found the part! He did not, I found the part! It’s not a game and we were both quite disheartened that John found it necessary to lie about the situation.

The part was in hand for the mechanic to get it all repaired and by 11:30 Friday morning it was complete. Unfortunately, the service manager was not working that day so we wouldn’t see him, but he had our keys and paperwork so we had to wait for him to drop them off at the dealership. We were told to come in at 2:00. Amazing that even after waiting 10 days for our repair to be completed the service manager still needed to hold us up by making us wait. And why were the keys not at the dealership in the first place? The cashier asked when we paid our invoice if we would like to sign up for the GM Rewards program. We figured yes since we will need a new car sooner rather than later. Even though we took the time and gave all of our information, through the acts of the cashier, we were never enrolled in the program.

John had told us that since those other repairs had been made and not been the actual issue that he would work with us on the price of the repairs in total. When we went to retrieve our car and pay the bill there was no such allowance. In addition, there was a $400 core charge added to the bill but not cancelled out with the expectation of returning the bad part. We only knew about this because we had found the part and that dealer had mentioned it to us.

To add insult to injury we left the dealership with a bolt stuck in one of the truck tires that needed to be removed and repaired. In addition, even though there was a car wash at the back of the dealership our car came back to us filthy dirty. We have been speaking to a customer service representative named Troy who has been very friendly and understanding but unable to offer any type of good will. This has been one of the worst experiences of our lives!

I went in for high mileage services and oil pan gasket replacement. Upon arrival inquired if a veterans discount was offered. I was told that USAF doesn't count. Also I requested the oil pan gasket be replaced. It was leaking. I not only was disrespected for my military service but I was charged for a oil diagnostic and 2 oil changes. The transmission filters weren't mentioned or replaced with the "transmission service" and they were stock, so my truck is a 2015, 8 years old on those filters should be addressed.

After service I got in the truck and saw a broken switch in the armrest. They didn't even mention that they broke the switch. The total bill was over $3000 for gear oil and oil pan gasket. I questioned the billing and services. So it's been 3 weeks and still no refund for double billing and the diagnostic charges. The gasket replacement itself was $1000, my truck is lifted 10 inches and no skid plate, literally 6 inches between it and the cross member. Btw, not a gasket replacement just sealed with goop. This place is a ripoff! I will be shopping for a new vehicle soon.

I bought a new 2017 GMC Sierra. I noticed some irregularities with the transmission at times while driving. Specifically the truck would plunge forward while braking on a hill. The plunge was significant and I took the truck in a few times to the dealership. They claimed that they needed to reset the computer and the problem should work itself after driving. Unfortunately, the problem persisted and now I was told I needed a new transmission. But since the warranty had expired passed 67,000 miles I was responsible for the entire cost of replacement. I later found out that other Sierra owners experienced the same issues. I have bought 4 GMC vehicles but will never buy another GMC product again.

Between the transmission vibrating and shifting hard to a point where starting to drive slams into gear and is dangerous in a way that may launch you and your vehicle into danger. To the trained mechanics saying, "I see no problem", to the power running boards not working on either side after being fixed twice, to the phone app not working correctly or the half dozen sensors going off and setting off the alarm and killing the battery completely dead, to where a tow truck has trouble jump-starting it. Just poor quality either from the union workers with no pride or skill to the company trying to pinch a penny for their own pockets. I will never buy another GM product again.

Could be safety issues that they refused to address due to having so many recalls on one vehicle. Then my transmission fell apart at 150,000 miles. That was $5500. And now my rocker panels have rusted through and need to be replaced.... $4400... for a 7 year old vehicle!! My neighbor's 1974 Ford pickup has perfect rockers and it sits outside all year every year. I will never buy another GM product.. and my father worked at GM for 43 years. What pathetic engineering to have such a defective vehicle. I have had Jeeps that were 15 years old that never had one issue, other than replacing brakes and tires. My next truck will be a RAM. It's a nightmare when it happens. GM can't fix it & the dealer makes you pay for all these procedures & new tires to no end. I had to take McGuire GMC to court. If this happens you can take them to small claims. It only costs $70 to file, you don't need a lawyer if you're claiming up to $15,000. I'll never buy a GM truck again.

I purchased a GMC Sierra. I purchased a GMC Sierra. 2013 SLE, one owner with 80,000 miles. I've had this truck for little over a year. Regularly scheduled oil changes and have even had a tune-up done. One day last week I was driving the truck and the engine begin to tick. I took the truck to my local mechanic where he said what everyone else has said, the motor is junk. I have a lifter ticking as well as a rod broken. The engine is toast and GM is telling me that I have to move a vehicle that is not drivable to a GM dealer, unbelievable. GM customer service immediately asks for the VIN number so that they can look and immediately remove all fault from GM and place the blame on the customer. They will immediately tell the customer that its an out of pocket expense.

Out of the first fifteen thousand reviews all fifteen thousand stated the same issue and concern with the GM motor and GM until this day 10/24/2020 has still done nothing to correct the engine problem. Even during this time of the pandemic era GM is still denying any blame or fault. I drive 68 miles daily to and from work. How am I supposed to make it to work now. GM hasn't even mentioned a loaner or any assistance with the cost of the repair. I still have 17,000+ and 3 years left to pay on this truck and what does GM say? They say sorry its an out of pocket expense.

I at one point loved and respected the GM company. At this point I will never think of buying another GM vehicle. And out of all the money that I have put in to my truck is now a complete loss. And do you know what GM says, they say it's an out of pocket expense. There is no loyalty or any customer concern when it comes to the GM company. And then they put these people over the phone that sit in a call center all day and rehearse and practice their response to questions asked by the customers, You would expect the foreign companies to be the ones that take advantage of the American customers, but it GM an American company taking advantage of the American people, Americans taking advantage of Americans isn't that what Americans do to each other.

And then the representative tells me to take it to a GM dealer so they can communicate with the dealer one on one. And then mentions a loaner car. But they are also telling me that it's an out of pocket repair, so who's going to pay for the loaner? I guess I will be the one paying for the loner also right. These representatives are hired and trained purely for what wages they can be paid and not questioned. Almost the same as working in a sweatshop. I can hire people to answer the phones for me at a rate of one dollar an hour, I've done the research. GM may seem as though they are a reputable company to do business with, but they are not. The main concern of GM is the timely production and sale of their products. Once the vehicle leaves the dealer it's an automatic out of pocket expense for the customer.

I have religiously maintained this truck at the dealer, most of the miles are freeway miles and I have towed things about 6 times in the life of the truck (mostly just a two horse trailer with one horse in it). I have owned many trucks over the years and have never had problems at 50,000 miles before. I was told by the dealer that these things can fail at any time. I bought a 2019 fully loaded Sierra Denali 1500 for $72,000. I have had it since May 2019. My dealer is amazing and have tried to resolve my issues. I have a number of issues happening.

    1. Brakes squeak after starting forward and back. This started happening around 2000k miles. Every time I back out of my driveway it sounds like I am scratching metal together. My neighbors are like you paid what for that NEW truck???

    2. Rear camera, trailer cam goes blue screen where you can still see the objects in the view but it’s tinted blue. This week it turned black in the trailer camera view area.

    3. Entertainment screen goes completely blue with yellow notice to “service rear camera system”. Can not see any of the cameras in reverse when this happens.

    4. Radio stations just don’t turn on sometimes and I have to change radio stations and then go back to the one I had on when I started the car for it to work.

    5. MOST DISTURBING - when the truck was in PARK and in about a 20 degree upward angle it started rolling backwards. The wheels turned about 1/4 and I ran around and hit the brakes. This is very concerning because what if a kid or animal was behind the truck and if started rolling. This is a MAJOR issue. Lucky for me it happened when I was with the dealer so they saw it and said they have never seen that one before.

Overall the look of this truck is the best on the road but the consistent issues make this truck sub par. GM keeps trying trying to blame the dealer and the dealer has supplied them with all of my documents. I have taken pictures, videos and multiple service visits. GM told me to go buy new brake pads. I am getting my legal team involved as GM takes no responsibility for these issues and keeps saying, just go to your local certified dealer. I will update as I get more info.

DO NOT PURCHASE GM PRODUCTS. I purchase a new 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 a month ago and it is now in the shop for the second time. It has been in the shop for over two weeks and in all, it has been in the shop for roughly three of the four weeks I have owned the truck. Since I need my truck to work, I am now losing income while at the same time I am making payments on a truck that is in the shop. To make matters worse, the GM Corporation has repeatedly cancelled my parts order with no explanation as to why it did so. Worst of all, despite repeated requests, the GM Corporation will not do anything to make me whole in terms of the financial losses I have incurred as the result of the corporation's poor quality control.

In other words, it is my fault that I bought a defective new product and GM would rather I pursue legal action against the company versus trying to reimbursement in some form or fashion. Hell, they will not even try to place me in a full size loaner vehicle nor have they offered something a small as an extension of my warranty or XM subscription. Therefore, if you want to buy a reliable vehicle from a company that will back their products, do not purchase a GM vehicle.
