What is Enterprise Car Sales?

Enterprise Car Sales is a branch of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. The company sells certified used cars, most of which were previously rental vehicles. Enterprise vehicles have been regularly maintained and thoroughly inspected. There are over 250 makes and models of cars, trucks, SUVs and more to choose from.

Enterprise also offers the option of trading in. The company provides written offers with competitive trade-in values based on your current vehicle. The offer has no obligation, so you can turn it down if you change your mind.

How does Enterprise Car Sales work?

Customers can start the process of buying a car from Enterprise online. You can peruse vehicles at your leisure by providing your contact information and credit score, plus your vehicle’s value if you’re planning on trading in.

As of March 2021, Enterprise offers socially-distanced test-drive options. This means you need to reserve a vehicle for an in-person test drive and that you likely won’t be accompanied by a team member while you’re on the road.

Enterprise Car Sales fees

There are several fees to be mindful of when buying a used car. The Enterprise website lists some possible fees, including:

  • Taxes
  • Title and registration
  • State inspection
  • Documentation or administration

If you’re buying from an Enterprise in a state different from the one you reside in, you'll also be subject to out-of-state fees.

Enterprise has a wide selection of vehicles for sale under $17,500. The company doesn’t offer any senior or military discounts. That said, the majority of Enterprise Car Sales’ prices are below the typical Kelley Blue Book listing prices.

Enterprise Car Sales financing

Enterprise Car Sales offers financing through Chase. The company doesn’t specify a minimum credit score, but it does offer help for those with no credit history. It also has a college graduate program and help for first-time vehicle buyers.

Enterprise Car Sales FAQ

Can you negotiate with Enterprise Car Sales?

Enterprise Car Sales doesn’t allow negotiations on vehicle pricing. The company’s no-haggle pricing makes it easier for customers to compare prices. The majority of Enterprise car prices are below the typical listing price.

Does Enterprise Car Sales take trade-ins?

Enterprise Car Sales does take trade-ins. Customers can submit a car evaluation or trade-in application online. The company will appraise and provide you with a no-obligation offer. From there, you can choose whether to accept.

Can you get a rent-to-own car from Enterprise?

Enterprise does not offer rent-to-own cars. If you’re interested in purchasing a vehicle that you rented from Enterprise, the company can help you find a similar vehicle.

Where does Enterprise sell cars?

Enterprise Car Sales offers used cars in most states, except for:

  • Alaska
  • Arkansas
  • Hawaii
  • Idaho
  • Maine
  • Mississippi
  • Montana
  • North Dakota
  • Rhode Island
  • South Dakota
  • Vermont
  • Wyoming

To learn about buying an out-of-state car, you have to contact an Enterprise sales consultant.

Can you buy your rental car from Enterprise?

The Enterprise Car Sales website doesn’t specify whether cars currently used for rentals are also available for purchase. If you’re unable to purchase your rental car, Enterprise can help you find a similar make and model. Contact an Enterprise sales consultant for full details.

Still have questions?

Is Enterprise a good place to buy a car?

Yes. Fleet vehicles are serviced regularly and receive meticulous maintenance. Enterprise also offers a seven-day buyback period, and it eliminates the stress of negotiating a price for a used car with its no-haggle prices, which are often below Kelley Blue Book listing prices. The website offers a wide selection of vehicles under $17,500. Keep in mind that former rental vehicles likely have high mileage, though.

Buyer beware! If you have a vehicle transported and discover that the vehicle has significant problems they will gas light you and try to make you believe that you are somehow wrong or at fault. They care more about $1000.00 than their customers or their reputation. This is their quote from their response to my BBB complaint "the vehicle was found to be in the same condition as when it was picked up... Enterprise [had] the vehicle inspected by a third-party mechanic [who] identified a wheel balance issue". So much for their "rigorous multi-point inspection by ASE-certified technicians." The vehicle arrived with problems and they claim I should pay the transport fee. Go to CarMax - they are honest about their vehicles conditions!

Worst Car Buying Experience Ever. I had a Senior Salesman. First they give me the wrong car, then when I get the right one it breaks down in 20 days and I have to eat the cost. It's filed under my warranty and the rental that I was put in has no hubcaps and nail polish on the dashboard, white paint on the wheels, it shakes, and there's a wrench on the dash with means it needs work, all this and I haven't paid a car note. I called Corporate and spoke with a guy named Tom, and he stated I would hear from someone, but I never did. If this is their Best Customer Service, I hate to see what Bad looks like!!

I bought a Toyota corolla last April. Customer service was good. My problem is the car was very dirty inside. It had no inspection sticker or oil sticker. They had me bring it back to get inspected. I watched tech inspect it. He literally sat in car for a few seconds walked around it then put sticker on it. No inspection.. One month I had to get back brakes and tires and back tires were bald. I was in a bad situation. I trusted Enterprise since I have bought three other cars there. I think they sold me a car that had been recently traded. Since my situation was dire I had to take the car. Very disappointed. Will not buy from them again.

I've purchased 2 vehicles from Enterprise Car Sales with no issues. Our 3rd purchase was a 2021 Ram with clean Carfax. The truck had electrical issues. When my accidentaly dented the truck, he discovered Bondo under the paint. When I mentioned this to Enterprise, they didn't seem to care. It was too late to do anything about it legally. I no longer recommend them to anyone.

A few days ago I had an appointment at Enterprise Ellicot City where we were supposed to test drive a Mazda CX-50 that was confirmed to be in the parking lot. That same morning, the sales manager, named Rashid, called me to confirm the appointment and where we agreed on the time and other details. When we arrived at the agreed time, they informed us that the car had been moved to Timonium that morning and that no one had found it necessary to inform us. We returned with unfinished business only to be called the next morning to tell us that the car was back with them. Since they had scammed us once, of course we did not go and that is why I would like to inform other potential customers of this type of behavior. These people are irresponsible, unprofessional, unable to keep their promises and as such are not suitable for business. People, they scammed us, they will scam you too, be careful

I found a car I wanted from Enterprise car sales. I called and talked to Devanta ** who was at their Indianapolis location where the car was located. I asked him about the final price and he told me. It was a great price, and he only added the taxes which was still a great price for the car. I told him I didn't have a way to get there. He told me to hold on, and he arranged for me to get a rental car to drive to his locations to pick up my car. They did not charge me anything for the rental. I had the best experience from beginning to the end and would highly recommend this car dealer to anyone wanting to buy a newer car.

Don't buy from these people. Long story short their cars are junk. Made a deal on the phone, went to pick it up and the transmission had issues and the front windshield was cracked. Made a deal on another car and got it home only to find rock chips in the windows and on the front of the hood. We were told that the cars go through a certification process. I don't know how the car made it through without the issues being seen. I believed it's all lies and total BS. Buyer beware.

You think you have terms agreed to before you sign the papers. They bait and switch interest rate, loan term length, warranty length and condition of the vehicle at delivery. It has taken 4 months and repeated lies and omissions on a 30+ thousand dollar vehicle over a $100 rebate they offered me for time and travel. I recently purchased a vehicle at Enterprise car sales and the whole process was fairly easy. I bought a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee lux, everything was ok, until they gave me only one key. I asked the guy, why only one key and he said the manufacturer only makes one key per vehicle, at the time it seemed odd but I left with that. Later I did some research online and found that may not be true and in calling the sales guy back he still says the manufacturer only made one. Also the vehicle had no spare tire but it has the space for it in the trunk, again he said the manufacturer no longer includes a spare tire but the space is still there, did he lie to me to sell me the car?

I purchased a vehicle from Enterprise Car Sales in Kentwood, MI (Grand Rapids area), and unfortunately, the experience has been deeply disappointing. Initially, everything seemed fine, but within a week of ownership, the car began emitting heavy white smoke upon startup—an early sign of serious engine trouble. Since then, the vehicle has been in the repair shop for over a month. It has required multiple major repairs, including replacement of the crankcase breather, all 16 valve guide seals, and now a complete cylinder head replacement. To make matters worse, the cylinder head is currently on backorder with no estimated time of arrival, leaving me without a functioning vehicle and no clear resolution in sight. This experience has been a cautionary tale about purchasing former rental vehicles—particularly through Enterprise. It is unacceptable for a car to require such extensive repairs within just three months of ownership.

After the 7 day return policy expired the transmission suddenly went into neutral and would not drive. This happened twice. I called the sale and they indicated that I should have purchased their warranty. The Carfaxed provided me with the purchased had stated no service on the transmission at 30 thousand or 60 thousand miles. This service is as much as $1000 at a Mopar dealer. Sale will not step up to pay for it. It's dangerous going onto the freeway and could result in a death. Enterprise states that the perform all oil changes and maintain their cars? Today I purchased my second vehicle from Enterprise Car Sales in South County St. Louis, Mo. within the last 9 years. By the way, I decided to keep my 2015 Buick Verano when I signed the sales agreement of my 2024 Dodge Ram 4x4. Moreover, I thoroughly enjoy the haggle free negotiations sales approach of Enterprise. Additionally, the entire sales staff is and always have been professional. In particular, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the senior sales consultant Bill ** who handled the sale of my beautiful 2024 Dodge Ram 4x4. He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to interact with. I encourage anyone looking to purchase a used vehicle at the South County location (St. Louis) anytime soon to contact him at 314-842-6899. Also, I would like to congratulate the Area Sales Manager Nick ** who leads the entire dealership in South County.

In conclusion, I would be remiss to not mention that when purchasing a vehicle from Enterprise Cars you're rest assured that each vehicle car or truck has been expertly tested for reliability or mechanical issues. I should know; for, I never had an issue with my 2015 Buick Verano and I'm pretty sure my experience with my new truck will be the same. Kudos again to Bill and Nick. Steve **

That first call I explained to him we were in a chapter 13 bankruptcy but was in the middle of converting to a chapter 7 bankruptcy but needed a truck but I did not want to run my credit unless he was pretty sure he could make it work. Well he told me he could he send me pics of vehicles to pick from and I did. He said it would not be a problem. I said great then I would fill out the app since he said they have done hundreds of apps with bankruptcy it would be good so I filled out my app then every time I try to call him for a few days I get him with no news but then he says he will call me back and every time he said that he never called me back. Never.

The first truck I picked he said was too too far away and was too much but he had wrong truck but then he said he would have someone else call me with info today but never got that call either so I call them and they said, "Well we are all so busy with customers." Well what am I. Anyway finally they get a answer from the manager and I was approved but I have to trade both my open vehicles in along with my trustee letter and $5000.00 in cash not even close or achievable. I’m ok with a no if I went more or less told they do it all the time and it would not be a problem when he even knew I was trying to fix my credit. The next day we are called. Yep he confirmed it was all just "mistakes" but since we feel so bad we'll try to negotiate a "smaller jump in price". But they definitely will not honor the advertised price that we put $$ on. This is FRAUD.

This is concerning Enterprise Car Sales Memphis, I do not know about the others in the country. We decided to try purchasing a car online because we'd heard good things about how easy the process is. Whatever you do, do not use Enterprise Car Sales of Memphis. We found a car online, we filled out an application, entered a social security number, authorized a credit report. They RAN A CREDIT REPORT (just like what you do when you apply for any credit through an online application) and we got a result with the name of three banks to use, we selected Capital one, then we were provided terms, including an interest rate, # of months, downpayment information... I mean every last detail.

There was NO warning such as: "by submitting an application and allowing us to run a credit report, you cannot rely on the approval or any of the rates or numbers produced." Because that's what they did. They switched it all up. They just want to get you in and then switch the terms. Now we have to go somewhere else (because we can't do business with people who do business like that) and likely have another credit report run because of this shifty approach to online customers.

When we went to get the car, they changed the interest by DOUBLING it by 100%. They doubled it and relied on fine print to say that we could not have the deal we got when we submitted our application. So we just left rather than trust these people any further with their bait-and-switch operation. Unfortunately, in our efforts to purchase a car, we will have to deal with another hit on our credit report. The guy we spoke to is Jonah ** but I would not trust any one of them. What's odd is that I really like to use enterprise rental cars when we travel. Their "efforts" to sell cars here in Memphis falls far short of the standard that Enterprise Rental Cars provides.

After a 5 week terrible, frustrating, and stressful car search it finally ended here. Enterprise Car Sales does not have any gimmicks, no games, no typical car dealer frustration. I had my financing secured so was essentially a cash buyer (dealers don't like this at all.) Sheryl was simply amazing!! She took care of everything from the beginning to the end, had answers for all my questions, was very knowledgeable, and truly cared!! I went in yesterday morning, and took delivery of my car the same day.

I would like to thank Mr. Toney ** for going above and beyond for me today, he worked to most of his ability to get me into a car today. I will definitely use this location again in the future if I am ever in search of a new car. He took his time and explained everything to me, once everything was finalized, he made sure the car was washed and clean before I drove off. I have purchased many cars in the past and I must say this was the best experience I have had, and I have purchased cars from Sewell ** and to me they outdid Sewell. That has to say something as far as customer service is concerned. Thank you once again for getting me what I asked for. This is a beautiful well-maintained vehicle.

Pre-approved me then jerked me around once I got there. Their salesmen would go to the manager's office and stand around for 30 minutes to an hour, sometimes more. Their computer systems are from the 90s and are slower than a Pentium processor trying to boot windows 11. Frequent system crashes and long load times.

Complete disregard for making any sale and that's fine they are far from the only dealer in town. I knocked on their door twice after waiting for a salesmen to come back to me and no one wanted to come out so I left. I have other offers for a vehicle that I actually want (they didn't have any trucks) and so as the saying goes, it just wasn't meant to be.

I recommend staying away from this dealership. They seem to be under the impression that they don't need any sales. So don't give them any and see if their attitude remains the same. To top that off the person I was working with ran my credit a second time without permission and put a second hard inquiry on my credit report. The bottom line is they are car salesmen in every sense of the word. Untrustworthy, Shady, and willing to bend ethics to make a buck.

Edit: 1/31/2023: Stay away at all costs, these people are scammers. They upped my down payment from $1000 to $3700. When I paid it they made me come back the next day due to "system errors" after their computers crashed and we had signed 20+ pages out of the 30 they required. When I came back the next day the vehicle was gone and I am being told the bank said they would only approve a smaller vehicle (I was getting a SUV). After already taking my down payment and signing papers? What a bold-faced lie. They sold the vehicle out from under me and are now making excuses to cover their backsides. They claim taking the down payment was to "show initiative" and even though we we're signing paper to close that the bank could have still denied us.

No dealer I've ever dealt with takes your cash and makes you sign closing papers to "show initiative". Seriously stay away from these liars and crooks. After looking around I have found there are far better options available at other dealerships who after talking with them agreed with me and said, "Yeah they sold the vehicle out from under you. It happens all the time.".

The sales manager lied about the vehicle purchase with ALLY who approved Buyer w/ Guarantor. They changed the application as Buyer/Co-Buyer in which I didn't approve or sign. They will not honor the agreement.
