Dodge's extended car warranty, FlexCare, covers not only Dodge but also Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, FIAT and Alfa Romeo vehicles. Because these brands share the same umbrella, Dodge drivers can access a much larger network than a single exclusive provider.

You must still be covered by the Dodge factory warranty to purchase a Dodge Challenger extended warranty. For coverage to be valid, drivers must properly maintain and operate their Dodge Challenger, so save receipts and work orders in case your dealer requests them later. There are three types of vehicles eligible for FlexCare:

• New vehicles: With less than 36,000 miles and a model year within three years of the manufacturer’s warranty start date.
• Certified pre-owned vehicles: With less than 75,000 miles and an active Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty.
• Traditional vehicles: No more than 10 model years old with less than 150,000 miles, or less than 125,000 miles for vehicles with a manufacturer's five-year, 60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty.

Coverage is available up to eight years and 125,000 miles. Your dealer will inspect the vehicle to confirm eligibility.

As Dodge’s extended auto warranty, FlexCare offers various levels of coverage, all the way up to bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage. Plans come with your choice of a $0, $100 or $200 deductible.

While Extended Care covers the core components, Extended Care Plus takes things up a notch with powertrain coverage, plus coverage for your brakes, electrical systems, fuel systems and safety-related mechanical components, such as ABS.

Extended Care Premium is the premier plan that adds coverage for the Challenger’s high-tech and luxury systems. This includes touchscreens, navigation systems, backup cameras and blind spot monitoring.

All Extended Care plans include several benefits:

• Roadside assistance and towing: 24-hour towing and roadside assistance, up to $100 per occurrence
• First Day Car Rental: $45 car rental allowance or taxi reimbursement when your Challenger is in the shop for any same-day dealership mechanical repair or maintenance service (excludes bodywork)
• Rental car coverage: Up to five days with a $45 daily limit for up to $175 per occurrence when your Dodge Challenger is in the shop for covered repairs
• Trip interruption protection: Up to $1,000 for lodging, meals and car rental expenses when the vehicle is inoperable due to a covered failure or when the failure occurs more than 100 miles from home
• Key fob repair/replacement: Up to three key fob repairs or replacements with a maximum benefit of $600.

Additional FlexCare plans are available, as well as mechanical coverage and maintenance plans. These plans can add commercial vehicle coverage, vehicle theft deterrent, roadside assistance and a lube oil and filter plan.

Optional coverage

There is additional coverage you can add to your Dodge Challenger extended warranty:

• Gap Plus: Should your vehicle be declared a total loss from an accident, theft, or natural disaster, FlexCare will cover the balance between what your primary insurer pays and what you still owe on your vehicle.
• FlexCare Advantage: This extends your FlexCare plan’s mechanical coverage until your vehicle is 15 years old or has 160,000 miles, whichever comes first. Eligible vehicles must be 11 years old or newer and have fewer than 140,000 miles.
• FlexCare Vehicle Protection: This add-on includes the Dodge Complete Performance Package, which provides mechanical and wear coverage. Drivers even receive one day of high-performance driving at Radford Racing School.
• Road Hazard Tire and Wheel: This covers your tires and wheels, allowing for replacement coverage for damage from road hazards.
• Auto Appearance: Auto Appearance Care uses a Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) process to shape the metal back to its original form without painting, sanding or body fillers. You can add one to five years of coverage for this service.
• MultiCare: FlexCare bundles different services and coverage types for up to seven years, including but not limited to Tire & Wheel coverage, Cosmetic Wheel coverage and Curb Damage coverage.

Exclusions

Every plan is different, so exclusions vary based on the coverage you choose. Talk to your dealer about which plan is right for your Challenger.

However, FlexCare typically does not cover repairers for damages or conditions that developed before coverage.
