The sole purpose of Alcolock is to take your money. They are nothing but a cash grabbing company. The website is useless, difficult to navigate and does provide you with what you need. When you call them, expect a wait time of over 30 minutes. Last time I called, after waiting 20 minutes, my call got disconnected. This happened 3 times. The hand held device is 2005 technology, the only wait to charge it is by plugging it into the cigarette lighter in the car.
Every single person I dealt with was extremely rude, does not care, and all they want is your money. I was at the garage for a regularly scheduled appointment, next day went to drive and the device was locked. Called Tech Support, they said it would cost me $95.00 to reset and unlock. I argued with Tech Support, because I was at the garage yesterday with no issues and today there is an issue. Through no fault of my own. If you sneeze they will ask for $50.00 to hand you a tissue. I am very regretful that I did not read these reviews before signing up with them. Lesson learned on my part. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! This company should be shut down! Investigated... Something!

This company is incompetent. Rude. Terrible customer service. Avoid at all cost. They do not explain their product. They do not explain about scheduling appointments. They tell you to go online and then there is nothing there to explain the process. They blame myself for a missed appointment when one was never made. Last appointment they kept me waiting outside their door, eventually come out to the parking lot, play around with my device for a bit, tell me they are done and insult me.

I had accident last Nov 17. They called me after almost 2 months then and ask why I missed appointments then I said I had accident and I wasn't using the device. And the car was in the shop they even told me to take it out as I need to have it towed somewhere else just to take out the device that they installed. Coz if not I would have to pay for it 250 bucks. Then tried to call back few times and every time I call back I always get this feeling of uneasy and once heard my name or maybe accent their tone changes. Like would answer you by just, "Hm hm," then I would say thanks and just BYEEEEEE.. Like so unprofessional and I can hear from their voice that they not even care of listening like I feel so insulted.
Even the shop that I go to they are the same. Like what is wrong with this people. Why they treat people like this? You all don't know what people are going through, why is it so hard for this kind of people to be kind or be aware of how they treat others. You guys are a business if you keep doing that you'll lose people. Kindness are free just imagine your kids or parents or any family that you love being treated this way and it affects their lives. JUST IMAGINE

Avoid this place like the plague!!! They are scammers and will not care about you and they blame your car NEVER TAKING RESPONSIBILITY!!! They will not look at your car even when it’s their fault. They only care about money and good luck with your refunds they take a year to process which is a joke! This place seriously is a joke no working numbers and the people working in California are not so smart and beat around the bush. I hope this place gets shut down. Worst experience.

This is a poor example of technology. I was in a snowstorm on my way to work and the Alcolock device was going off. I pulled over on the shoulder and had to turn the car off, got locked out for 5 minutes then it worked fine. It happened again 10 minutes later, I pulled over, shut off the car, got locked out for another 5 minutes. The next time it went off, I kept driving all the way to work with the alarm going off. There were 2 cops in front of me at a stop sign, they didn't bother me at all. I pulled into my workplace shut it off, signed in and got back in to park it. It also gave me a service lockout, so I had to wait until they opened, lost 2 hours of work because of it. Please let me know how to get involved in the class action lawsuit. Don't bother calling the number for service unless it's business hours. **

HORRIFIC service, to say the least. Didn't even make it as far as actually getting to the installation appointment, as they rescheduled on me twice. The first time was for a double booking, pushing my appointment back by over a week, which is unacceptable. Then I tried to call and cancel my appointment and be refunded to go with the competitor (who, incidentally, charges $150 LESS in up-front costs), was told I cannot get a confirmation email that this was done. So now I'm hoping and praying my $250 that they took and processed WEEKS in advance of the appointment wasn't for nothing.
Lastly, just dealt with a legitimately psychotic "customer service" representative who MUST BE FIRED. After I told them (verbatim) that they need to "get it together on their end" after a call just now (24 hours after I confirmed that I cancelled my appointment and was told I would be refunded) stating that my appointment for today had been cancelled and I could reschedule anytime, the service rep started screaming at ME! I hadn't raised my voice once and I said, "how dare you speak to me this way, you're in customer service and you're calling ME with the wrong info" to which she responded, "HOW DARE YOU TALK TO ME THAT WAY." I hung up. I've worked in customer service for over 8 years, and if I EVER had the nerve to talk to a customer that way, I would have lost my job yesterday. So this is the experience you'll receive if you choose Alcolock Canada. DO NOT CHOOSE THEM. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

If I can rate this place a negative number, it will be -100, They prey on you to pay them fees and they give you a device that has a slow software so they can blame you as consumer and pay their fees..BEWARE THEY'RE A SCAM FOR YOUR MONEY. They take no responsibility on their device giving false codes and I called and try to explain that my device is having issues.
ON one and several occasion I spoke with CYNTHIA and a few of the girls that work there ABOUT MY device not working properly, ok NP I go get another one and again the same problem occurs. A fee of $85 for a code that pops up, another example, my truck being in for service with the mechanic having proof receipt, this lady CYNTHIA and Senida charge me a fee for a code $85, oil change for my truck, a fee for a code $85, change my breaks, a fee for the code $85. When I tried to jumpstart my truck my device automatically gave me a code that avoids me from turning my truck on and GUESS WHAT A FEE FOR?.. I ask CYNTHIA that I need to recalibrate my device the following day. On my due date WHICH HAPPENS TO BE A DAY EARLY 3/12/20, She Told me that I have 2 options, one option is to get my truck towed to the shop for recalibration or Pay $85 dollars for the fee of a new Code to start my truck.
"I said NO because the device is the issue and I've done nothing wrong to pay a fee of $85." I'm always on time paying 2 months in advance, so I don't waste time driving there once a month for calibrating the device. CYNTHIA Repeated herself like some Parrot saying the exact same words, and refuses to help and understand my situation, She was so rude and childish as a manager she claims to be. I Paid $166.15 for the fee and to remove this device from my Truck.
Unbelievable how they scammed me multiple fees and then I finally caught on to them!! I will report them with Better Business Bureau for capitalism on a system that people trust and believe that it's for our on good and ordered by the court. This female Cynthia had the audacity to threat me with reporting me the DMV for noncompliance and the courts will be aware too. My plan is not use this weak business and use a different one that is more legit. So people be aware. Dont trust this horrible so called company!!! This is from the Santa Monica location.

Simple, blow harder, hum louder, switch out mouthpiece etc. Does not matter there’s a glitch in the system because these are refurbished machines. No worries you will have five working days to reschedule your Alcolock violation re-testing. Absolutely you will be paying extra for this service nothing but a con!! Hilarious you can drive down the street horn blowing, lights flashing, alarm blaring. Police won’t pull you over. They could care less. Buyer beware. Do your homework. Do not go with Alcolock. They are not conveniently located. There’s not one in my county and I have to go all the time to have this darn breathalyzer reset because of the violation has nothing to do with alcohol! A scam. WARNING: Do not go with this company at all cost. My friends I have read all the reviews before going with them and thought Naah this will not happen to me. Went to install it and 2 days later I canceled my lease with them and had them take it off. Lost almost 700$ in this entire ordeal once I realized it's a trap for the long haul.
Long story short, got machine installed, paid 125$ and everything was fine, few hours later I get Abort message showing after every retest, got stranded like 10 times in two days, then finaly I get no ecu connection message and can't try at all, took cab home, car parked in random place in freezing cold, all this while Alcolock don't even pick up the phone once, now Monday called the shop. He said machine is no good, I have to replace it for you, call alcolock and come back, called alcolock for appointment. They want more money!! For what, for bad device they supplied in first place!! I said take the damn thing off my car and am not giving into your entrapment to extort me out of my $, they wanted another 291 to cancel my lease and remove it.
I paid the money and finally removed it, I lost money on cabs, towing, installation, and uninstalling of this garbage device. It's expensive lesson but it could of costed more if I continued with them. My friends, those devices are not meant to keep people safe, it's a device to bring more misery to your situation and bleed your pockets dry. Technicians are not honest and they will give you bad device just so they have you go back for service and collect more and more money from you, this company is robbing people and the gov is well aware of it. What a shame!

I would not and I mean DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT, it should not even be allowed to classify a product. You ask for my story well here it goes. My appointment supposed to take 3 hrs. It was seven. Why you ask? Well in parking lot great. Went down the street and shut truck off. Won't let me restart for almost half hour. Finally get truck going. The company had to change out hand held unit. Away we go then it shuts my truck off, call the company again. Finally gets my truck started. Ecu no communication, they have to change ecu, then finally after an hour or so we can leave. All good.
Made it halfway home and guess what? Wants a retest, I blew in it three times. The girlfriend even tried and next thing you would think it's a board game operation when if you touch the sides bells and whistles goes off, ensure you have a good stereo in vehicle and crank the tunes and drive on. That's what I did, next day going to go from Drayton to Ottawa for Xmas with my kids and grandkids 6hrs trying to start vehicle. Nope then I get locked out. I try calling the number to get a code and I have to wait until Monday morning, so I lose out on family weekend and does the company care?
No, the person that says there's a lawsuit against them please tell us how to contact you, I wouldn't even let my worst enemy out this product in a vehicle, someone else said it is a cash grab and they should be ashamed by telling you friendly service, great product. Only thing I agree with is sponsored by government cause they're all liars too. So in closing I pay for a product I might as well said no to back on track, cause I've had the unit three days now and I got to drive my truck to site for installation and home. What a joke. Friday the 13th is a nightmare, day.

You can call 3 different times and get 3 different answers to the same questions. I don’t understand how they can run a business this way. It’s very clear they are only out to make money off of you charging $80 to the customer when their machine messes up. "Want to change the battery in your car? $80 dollars please...." "Wait what does that have to do with drinking and driving..." "Nothing I can do. $80 dollars please." I can’t wait for the class action lawsuit I’m in.

This company and system that was supposedly created to help us are completely false. I have had the worse experience with this company. I DO NOT RECOMMEND the ALCOLOCK system until it has a better system. Therefore I need your help and support from all of you! Please email me as we have a case open at the moment with them and the back on track team. The staff treats you like ** from day one. You have questions they have no answers! You speak French!!! Good luck. There's no operators! They'll put on hold for 1 1/2. Don't call at 4:40. They again put you on hold till office closes at 5:00!
You can call 3 times for your monthly fees and amount changes every time! I hadn't use my car for the summer, therefore, was told my license was suspended and had to pay 600$ to get the device back to date and license reactivated. That was False. They continued taking my monthly payments without advising me that my license hadn't been activated. I HAD ENOUGH WITH THEM AND PEOPLE GETTING RIPPED OFF.

In all seriousness, I have been in the automotive repair industry for almost 4 decades and I have never seen such low standards with zero input from any person that might offer common sense. First off they make equipment that can tell the difference between alcohol and food, but it was not used here. I am not able to eat any food within 3 hours of driving or I register a failure, I have not had a drink in almost a year now, but that has not stopped the failures or the constant stranding at the side of the road for failing a rolling test.
Next is the poor installation that was done. I am unable to turn back the ignition key to use the radio, so no my drive-in movies and the unplugged my transmission cooling fan. Also no provisions were made for anyone capable of working on their own vehicle. So far I have had early recalls for reflashing my radio, as it has not been right since the installation, another recall for replacement of the radio after flashing did not correct the problem. I had an emergency recall for eating a pepperoni stick.
Another recall for programming my engine computer, something I do every spring and fall, and my latest recall for my transmission failing. I have called to talk to someone about my situation and was left on hold for a half hour before getting somebody's voicemail, they never returned my call. Since then I have left a few messages for a supervisor or someone in management that is more than a seat cover and can actually make a decision. The extra scam fees (early recalls) must be their bread and butter since nobody ever wants to correct what is clearly wrong. Waiting for a class action to start, if I had the money I would start it myself. Until then I am stuck with the legal rape the government allows them to do to my bank account.

I had nothing but issues with this device since the first day! I was lied to about the first month and installation being free. No body shops in Iowa are trained and wires were not reconnected properly when it was installed. The device drained my battery on a 2016 Honda Accord every time it was used. Also, the humming and blowing on the device is too sensitive and doesn’t work well. Don’t waste your time or money with this company!!

If you are thinking about getting this device put into your car don't. Had nothing but problems since the first minute. I tried to use this thing and continuously abort you the first month it was in my car. I'm lucky if I got 2 hours drive time. They say you got 15 minutes. I timed it. It's 10. Then they give you 300 seconds to blowing this thing. You blow into it. It abort you every single time. Sat on the side of the road numerous times the first month trying to get my car started. The second month went to get it recalibrated. Of course it worked every time the guy had it hooked up to his recalibration machine. Went to leave the parking lot. Got 10 minutes down the road it aborted me again. Sat on the side of the road after 10 or 15 minutes of lockout time.
After a divorce you you're locked out for 5 minutes. I was able to get the car started so I made it home. Went back in the next day start the car. Now the car says Service - 1 what it says Service - 5. It permanently locks you out so I was permanently locked out for the whole month. Had to have the car towed to the shop. He recalibrated again for the new handset. On this time I made it 10 minutes down the road. Started to blow on it. Aborted me back to service - 1.
So now I'm really pissed off and stressed out. Took the car back to the shop yesterday. Breaking laws speeding driving like a reckless maniac to get this car to the shop and fear that it's not going to start back up. My own dumb fault. I didn't read the reviews. I should have read the reviews. There's so many bad reviews on this company. Also it's free installation to get it put into your car. Don't think it's free to take it out because it's not. I'm having this thing removed whatever the cost. May be the only thing this company knows how to do is take your money and rip you off. Please take my advice. Stay real far away from this company.

So as we all who review this know we got caught under the influence which sucks but it is what it is. Now I was to get an ignition lock on my car, so I ended up calling Alcolock, I was to get Intoxolock not an Alcolock and they still put an Alcolock in my car. They said it was the same thing so I paid for installation and paid for the device... Now to remove the wrong device I had to email my PO, get that approved, pay both companies and get both to have the same day installation on my vehicle. ALCOLOCK knew they were on the wrong based on my paperwork that was on my court documents. Now I have spent so much money is not even funny. Calling them is a joke. I can wait to the BBB to investigate especially since the location I went to 8308 Long Point Rd, Houston, TX 77055 had the display and had drunk people blow on it for fun when I was there for 3 hours.

I wish there was a way of rating minus 20. I have to say with all the negative on this site that the Better Business Bureau has not started an investigation into the handling of customers' complaints. My son has had this machine in his car since January 2017 and I have to call them on numerous occasions because I have deal with something on his behalf or they hang up on him. They are rude, disrespectful, negligent in their duties. We found out that when Speedy Glass installed the machine they tapped into the main wiring system (we had a mechanic check it out) in the car. The heat doesn’t work, his signals won’t work most of the time, it stalls out all the time. He can be driving and all of a sudden it stops. He can stop at a convenience store 20 minutes from home and try and start it and it can take up to 10-20 tries or it locks him out and then try and get Alcolock to unlock that will be $56.00 please.
My fear is one day his kids are going to be with him when this happens and become stranded on some side road (we are in the country not the city so we don’t have access to public transport). Like they say there is nothing like the scorn of a woman or a grandparent with a grandchild. It should cost according to the lady I spoke to at Alcolock $128.00 plus tax per month and to date because I insisted on knowing how much has been spent. It has cost over $2500.00. They won’t give an explanation as to why it keeps locking out but we know it was installed incorrectly.
The guy who installed this was fired and from the words spoken by the owner he didn’t know what he was doing. Guess what? Nobody takes ownership. I have on the phone with everyone involved with Back on Trac. My advice to all is contact your member of parliament because this is their baby and demand changes to the process. Don’t get me wrong. I am against drinking and driving but I also don’t like people being abused by any system. That is not fair.

I had a flat tire on the weekend, was able to pump it up to get it to a repair shop that was actually open on a Sunday. The fellows at the shop could not help me as they needed to put the car on a hoist and needed to get my remote thing on service mode, there is no one at ALCOLOCK that can do this on a weekend, taxi home and back Monday. I called ALCOLOCK to ask why there is no one able to help on the weekend. Only minimal things can be done and apparently needing service on your car isn't anything they are concerned about. The fellow was quite rude and couldn't have cared less, l wasn't abusive or anything but he hung up on me as soon as he felt he was done. So now the fellows at the service shop have to waste (their time) sitting on hold with ALCOLOCK waiting their turn as longer than normal call volume to speak with tech support.

I have had the interlock on my truck for 8 months. I attempt (or attempted) to have it serviced every two months. However, I am bringing it in for service at least monthly now because it keeps getting recalls for false positives. I have been stranded on the side I-40 for nearly 4 hours, I have been stranded at my children's bus stop and had to call in to work that I was not coming, and most recently stuck at Food Lion for nearly 3 hours in 20 degree weather and can not start my truck. After 8 months I have noticed that it is ALWAYS on the first re-test. It always works for the first test to start the engine, then on the first re-test it may fail... If it does not, then all other test will be good.
The time I was stuck on the side of I-40, I had a state trooper pull up behind me, and I asked for a breath test and some sort of documentation to note that I have NOTHING in my system. He obliged me, I blew, it was 0.0, and he wrote a note for me on the back of one of his cards. The company states that anything can set it off. I have since removed hand sanitizer from my truck. I have stopped wearing beard oil. I have even given up Chapstick. But it seems that it is picking up something.
I have received a letter from the NC DMV that I am in violation and I need to send in my license or either request a hearing. So not only am I paying for each of the recalls, time out of my day to have them "serviced", I am now going to have to go to a hearing about this faulty piece of equipment. I see that someone mentioned CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT on the other reviews. I am 100 percent on board with that. I am researching lawyers NOW and will be looking to move on this ASAP. If I have no traction on a lawsuit then I want to look into how and why governments are allowing this piece of equipment to be used as a means of alcohol measurements and the basis of people's actions when it is truly so faulty. I have seen it firsthand along with a NC State Trooper. I failed three test, the Trooper administered his breath test (came up 0.0), and then I failed two more tests. IT IS FAULTY.

Well, I just had this nightmare of a machine installed 2 days ago. I am also stuck with it for an extended length of time. I get it, we ** and yes, we DO need to pay a price for that. I own that. I also have no issues with needing a device in my car, but how about one that WORKS. This thing already this morning has me going in for an early recall even though it was in Warm Up mode (it's like -30 here)... I was told by the service provider I had 30min. So started the car, put it in Warm Up mode and came back in to grab a few things. Literally 5min I was in the house. Go back to car... it's flashing red that I missed a retest!!! I wasn't even IN the car OR driving it???
Also - I had to pull over 3x yesterday during a 15min drive because it would not accept my blows. I was terrified I was going to be locked out and then responsible for a tow (again more $$$)... so I pulled over and just shut my car off and waited for 5min. Is it really necessary to go off every 15mins? This thing is NOT safe. It is NOT safe for the drivers or other people on the road because of this. I am scared to take any distance trip for fear that it will go off on a retest and not accept my blows and then cause more issues if there is nowhere safe for me to pull over? WHO APPROVED THIS??? Even as a GUILTY DRUNK DRIVER (who is now sober since Mar 22 2017) this machine is a joke and a money grab! I am now scared to even drive my car to work. There must be a better way to punish us. Because I feel like innocent people on the road are being further punished by having us on the road with this stupid faulty machine.

One day I started driving from work to the grocery store after providing my breath sample but it locked me out when I left the grocery store. Thankfully, the shop where I got it installed at was open so that helped. Now today, I have provided my breath sample 6 times and every time it says start engine but the engine is locked. Nobody knows what the problem is and their call center closes at 5. Their emergency line is of No help either. I have been sitting in my work parking lot for 50 minutes. I recently had the Alcolock installed in my car and was so excited to be driving again until I realized how distracting and ridiculous this device is. This should NOT be legal to have in your vehicle. It is very poorly optimized and thought out and needs to go... Technology has advanced way past this piece of junk. Firstly after having it for 2 days, I was just trying to move my car so my roommate could get out of the driveway. It took me 20 minutes just to get the car started... After 25-30 attempts with results of Blow Harder, Hum louder (The Humming thing is absolutely ridiculous), I get an early Recall message (that I will be charged for). It was 35 degrees outside and probably hotter in my car when I was trying to blow into the device and that could have been a factor even though I had the device with me inside and it was not exposed to the heat for very long.
My other huge complaint is the random time intervals when driving... The only thing you end up thinking about while driving is when is the thing going to go off? You can't solely concentrate on just driving now (it's a huge distraction). I could only imagine how bad it would be if other people were in the car with me. Alcolock I really hope you read these reviews because the technology behind your product is complete garbage and not up with current times. Do you not see that every review for this product is bad? This makes me just not want to drive at all seeing as I have a chance of being charged from these petty Early Recalls every time I go to start my car. I will consider getting this thing out of my car because dealing with this for the next 9 months sounds like a nightmare.

Brake lights not working. Signals now not working. They deny they did anything wrong now. As for blowing and humming after 4 seconds not realistic. In less than a week 2 near call accidents trying to blow while driving and nowhere to pull over then it happens I rear-end a car trying to blow.
The alarm and most of the time trying to blow and get it right is 10% if not less. The stress is 90%. The anxiety 90%. Heart is pumping. Headache. I have bronchitis and asthma and which is the reason in the first place I lost my license in a camping ground moving my vehicle within. They take it away for not able to blow sample. Then my cocaine druggie lawyer $5000 and at trial had it beat then only had to fax in documents to have it dropped. Sets retrial and comes in hungover and states I needed a drink or a chocolate bar. "Sorry but we can appeal it for $7000 more." SERIOUSLY. Talk about being railroaded. I lost all my moving contracts, business, companies, my dignity. I have a blind brother. They have cut down to 1 visit from 5. My mother had just passed on a month before charged. Stressed through it all and lawyer trying to clean me out. I have 20 plus alarm charges that went off in less than a week.
I went in the Ottawa ALCOLOCK for technical difficulties. The alarm going off he said "you have to book a appointment no sooner than 2 weeks." My experience as for since I started program they have only one guy for the whole region running the office in each district doing front desk paperwork and installing Alcolocks. No technical help on same day basis. Overbooked Mon to Fri. So here I am. The alarm going off he says he can't help. I said "I'm sitting here until you fix it." He gives in then goes to proceed to blow. I said "you're not turning the engine off." He blows 30x not getting it and says "I'll switch it" so goes and switches it even though I told him I want the other one which I was use to from previous install. Anyhow the new one he now goes on to blow another 20x. Not getting it then he gets. Tries to do it a couple of more times. Gets lucky and says see it works. Ya. I say "how about try that on the highway."
So as for getting this system changed they said another $169 plus $50-100 surcharge depending on the vehicle and call for appointment I do. And finally. Got supervisor to give in after a couple of days and a accident to boot. I work for a charity organization supporting the disabled and need my van. I am the manager and if it wasn't for me they would have shut down. So I call to book appointment and get the guy from Cornwall again for soonest appointment and he is trying to squeeze more money saying "I have no call from supervisor." Said he would check into it and would get back that day.
That was Friday and still going through hell with our gov't. MTO device which contradicts the highway traffic act driving under a distractive device. As for cell phones are $3000 fine and this being more distractive and causing anxiety and hyperventilating and embarrassment and costly beyond. As also the last 3 month one alarm and you have another 3 months of hell they add on. Our gov't. is a disgraceful money maker off good citizens who believed in a once proud country which has been destroyed by the NWO that has no environmental priorities. Careless for quality of life. Only profit. And running the world to the ground. Please pass on. Thanks.

I want to/MUST pay my fee before the next appointment. I waited on the phone for 25 minutes, then it automatically put me to a voice mail message. BS about "currently experiencing a higher volume of calls"... etc. Every time I call I get that message. This company should be removed as a supplier of this service for Ontario. It exudes arrogance and lack of care, knowing it has us over the barrel, once we install their device. If you get the brochure for this company as part of your package, chuck it! The other company has got to be better!

The title says it all! We had the ALCOLOCK device installed at A&I Auto Repair in Ft. Pierce FL on a Friday and after numerous temporary lockouts for not "blowing harder," "hum louder," "retest," THEN "missed test" because it would not accept any form of blow sample. Then the car alarm, horn and ALL lights blare loudly for exactly 5 minutes! Imagine this while sitting in a CVS Pharmacy parking lot and everyone staring at you like you're a criminal! This is when the vehicle went into complete lockout mode requiring it to be towed to the service shop. The owner of the installation shop was called and we were told to wait until he arrived at the parking lot our car was in. He came over 2 hours later. He made a phone call and speaking in Spanish (which we could not understand) and he went to our car, cut 2 wires and announced, "Now it will start!" IT DIDN'T!!! He left again saying he could not fix it and to have it towed to his shop.
Meanwhile, we complained to the ALCOLOCK main office, so when we arrived at the repair shop location, we were met with a very angry owner/technician who told us, "I'm not fixing it! I'll take it off your car and you can go somewhere else!" The tow truck driver's mouth dropped along with ours and he said if we had any problems from here on out he would testify on our behalf. So, the vehicle was towed again to the dealership where we purchased it. The service department removed the device AND REPAIRED the DAMAGE to our BRAKE WIRES caused by A&I Auto Repair when the device was originally installed. This was an additional cost to us of over $300!! They were not surprised by the damage done, as they said they have repaired work done by them before. They sent us to another local installation place who installs SMART START.
It has been 2 weeks and we have not had one problem!! We believe our NIGHTMARE experience was a combination of the ALCOLOCK device and the installation place ALCOLOCK sends you to if you live in St. Lucie County Florida. We are still battling with ALCOLOCK to pay for the damages to our vehicle as of this date. March 31, 2017. We hope this reviews saves you time, money, and most of all STRESS and aggravation!! Do your research BEFORE deciding on which alcohol interlock device you choose!

Let's get it all out there... About 10 years ago actually I had 2 yrs probation for my dui. And in 2015 Sec. of State appeal hearing ordered me to drive on an ignition lock device for one whole yr.. Ok that's really ok with me because my drinking days are way behind me. Little did I know that this ignition device was the beginning of my nightmare. NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS with this device since I've had it installed that I'm 2 wks. into this and I'm having it removed!!
I can't drive even to my job without it saying "recall" because it saying I "missed retest" which I didn't because I'm nearly driving off the road humming and blowing into this stupid machine trying to get it to work! All the while on the verge of tears! Regardless the machine just beeps at me saying "hum louder" then "blow softer", "blow harder" then "hum louder." It sounds like I'm warming up for a choir concert. Failed retest... so I have to drive myself to the police station to validate my missed test.
I call this awesome company and one of the customer service ladies laughs at me... and I'm like... this isn't funny!! So she suggest I change companies and that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm not joking people do not go with this company!!! After reading all the other reviews I can't believe this is mandatory through the state! What a joke! It's like they want us to fail or have an anxiety attack.
