About Life Alert
Life Alert was founded in 1987, making it one of the first personal emergency response companies in the United States. The company’s systems have a base hub and a help button that can be worn around the neck on a pendant or wristband. Life Alert advertises that its pendants have a 10-year battery life and don't require charging. I was getting out of bed, legs wouldn't hold me up, and down I went and hit the left side of my head on the night table. Blood came out over left eye and I couldn't see to dial 911. But I just pushed button on my Life Alert and was able to get help in no time at all.

When I fell, I pushed the Life Alert button and as soon as I pushed it, there was someone on the speaker box talking to me. It was such a comfort to hear her. The ambulance came and they took me to the hospital and I was treated.

When I fell outside and utilized my Life Alert, the response was immediate. My family was notified immediately as well with details of what happened and where paramedics were taking me. When I arrived, my family was again notified of the hospital I was at. Great service throughout the entire experience.

I fell and received an ankle fracture. If I didn't have Life Alert, I would have lain in the wet dew for hours because I was outside and couldn't move. But thank God I had Life Alert and help was here in little time. Police and ambulance arrived quickly.

About 12:20 p.m. I got up to go to the bathroom; I slipped and fell on my hardwood floor. I hit my head on the door facing, then fell on both knees and cut my elbow. I was so happy to hear the Life Alert response. Help came and I was taken to the hospital and treated immediately. I have told many about my Life Alert.

My mom's blood pressure was very low; I called her doctor who couldn't see her until the next day, so I called Life Alert. At the hospital it was found she had a staph infection in her feet and she was hospitalized. Life Alert called for help right away and stayed on the phone until help arrived. Thanks.

I was transferring from my recliner to my wheelchair. One of the brakes on the wheelchair was not locked down and I landed on the floor in front of the wheelchair. I was not hurt. I pressed the Life Alert button and the emergency crew was promptly there in a few minutes and helped me up into the wheelchair.

My husband had a seizure and wanted to go to his bed. However, he is always too weak to walk after an attack. I was afraid he would get hurt if he fell while walking, so I pressed the Life Alert button. The team came and literally picked him up and took him to his bed. All was well.

On October 7, 2012, I fell on the back steps of my patio and sustained a concussion with much bleeding from my mouth and nose. Were it not for Life Alert, I might have died. I truly appreciated Life Alert's concern. I was locked out of my house on a very hot morning. None of my neighbors were home and no one at home. Life Alert was my last chance. They called the fire department; they have a key to my lock box to come let me into my house. Life Alert even called me back to make sure I was ok. Thanks.

It was late one evening on September 21, 2012 when I experienced a strange feeling. I realized I was going to faint, so I quickly pushed my Life Alert button. I regained consciousness and I heard a voice from the console answering me that help was on the way. Soon, the paramedics arrived and took me to the hospital. I had a stroke. I would like anyone who lives alone to get the Life Alert system. Thank you for your service.

I am the caretaker. The patient was home alone when he fell. Within minutes after pushing the Life Alert button the ambulance was there. I was notified at work and on my way to the hospital. I arrived the same time the ambulance did. Thank God he knows to push the button. It means all the difference in a life and death situation.

Mom fell, and Life Alert didn't get a response from her so they called the police. Life Alert gave the police the dead bolt lock code so they could enter the home without using force. Life Alert then notified me, and I responded. Once police got there, they helped mom up. Mom is fine now. Thank you.

I was sitting out on my back porch and I heard the phone ring. I came in the house to answer the phone and there was a lady telling me to get out of the house right away, so I did. 911 came and did all of the rest. They only found a small reading of carbon monoxide in my kitchen above the stove.

I lost my balance and fell to the floor, fracturing my right hip. Life Alert responded by finding out what the problem was and alerted the ambulance with all the information needed. They also notified my family of the situation and that the ambulance was called and on their way.

The day after I got the Life Alert system, I became very ill and was hospitalized with multiple pulmonary embolisms in both of my lungs for 10 days. I was released and after that I went back to the hospital 4 days later with atrial fibrillation. The Life Alert system is a very valuable tool in saving lives. It saved my life.

When I had an oven fire, the Life Alert dispatcher told me to evacuate the house because the smoke was really strong. He talked to me outside through the door the entire time. The fire trucks came and I thanked him for saving my life.

Life Alert was awesome, with the fire department arriving within 10 minutes and doing all the necessary medical procedures and encouraging me to hang on. Life Alert also contacted all of my children and close neighbors. I was in good hands at all times. Results were inner ear problems causing dizziness and nausea and an imbalance. While we were away from the house, an empty paint can and oily rags outside in my yard ignited from the extreme heat and caught fire. The smoke from this fire entered the house and set off the smoke detector. The Life Alert technician called me on my cell phone in time for the fire personnel to arrive and put out the fire with a minimum of damage. My repairman was careless in leaving the materials out in the heat. If it wasn't for this Life Alert technician I would have lost my home. Thank you so much.

For some unknown reason I just fell over. I was getting coffee from the refrigerator and fell to the floor, and I hit my right eye on the table. I don't know how long I was on the floor, but I couldn't get up. I pushed the Life Alert, and help was here within 5 minutes. They called the home office to notify my son. The early part of this year when I came too, the paramedics had already started an IV and the ambulance drivers were here. I was in my bedroom on the floor. They said I fell on my Life Alert and they received the call. And in September this year I used it for an ambulance, and they were here in no time.

My heavy glassed shower door locked on me and I could not open or completely close it. I was trapped. As far as the Life Alert box is from my bath, the helper could hear me and vice versa. I could have probably been there until the end because we don't have drop in guest in my area. Life Alert saved my life.

I left my bed at about 12:15 to go to the commode which was one step away. I then found myself on the floor. I tried for about 30 minutes to get up, no luck. I then used the Life Alert pendant and the EMTs came with the police and lifted me to a chair. They checked me out and found no broken bones.

I was unable to walk one morning, neither leg moved. I pressed my Life Alert button, and within 10 minutes, I had an ambulance which called on me. A neighbor came over and unlocked the door for them and within another 10 minutes I was in the ER. Everyone was so very polite and courteous.

I called Life Alert because I was on the floor and couldn't get up. I was wrapped up in my quilt and instead of trying to get me up to be covered in their blanket, they [EMTs] left me in my quilt and lifted me onto the stretcher for the ambulance. The ambulance was called by my roommate and Life Alert arrived with three helpers quickly. I was lying on the floor by my hospital bed because of extremely weak legs. The crew lifted me onto my bed, and an attendant worked on my pressure and other vitals were checked out. I was then taken to the nearest hospital.

I fell in the bathroom and my head was wedged between tub and wall. Life Alert called for help and the EMTs arrived quickly. The EMT lifted my head and neck and then lifted my lower part of my body to get me up. Another time I fell in my bedroom and hit the wall with my head and neck and had a huge puncture wound on my skin. EMTs came prepared with equipment to stop the bleeding and I went to the ER. In both cases Life Alert gave history of problems and stayed in commutation with me until the EMTs arrived. I'm very pleased and feel safe wearing my Life Alert watch system.

My husband had not been well for several days. The last 4 of those days he wouldn't eat or drink, anything. By this time I knew I needed to get him help, I called Life Alert. Late that night I woke and needed to go to the bathroom. The bathroom separates my bedroom by needing to walk across the living room and a corner of the family room. I was sitting on the toilet when I suddenly fell forward to the floor. I injured my right arm and my left hand and could not move them. I pushed the Life Alert button and the paramedics were here right away. The hospital did x-rays and MRI and determined I was badly bruised but nothing broken.

My father took a sleeping pill and went to bed. He woke up in the middle of the night, went to the garage, started his truck, locked keys in truck and went back to bed. Carbon monoxide warning was set off triggering the Life Alert alarm, which saved his life. Cops, fire department and ambulance showed up, came through the door in garage and gained access to truck. August 24, 2012, shortly after arising from bed, I went into a diabetic coma, unconscious and laying on the floor. I began to return but sill no body functions. I was able to press my Life Alert button and the fire department, paramedics and family did arrive very shortly. Paramedics came into the house and provided assistance. I was walking outside in my backyard and I bent down to pick up something, and I just lost my balance and went down. I pressed my Life Alert button and I heard the machine go off. I was extremely dizzy getting out of bed at night. I went back to bed, but the room was spinning. I finally pushed the button for Life Alert and they were very courteous and helpful. They sent EMTs and they were very kind and took me to the hospital right away.

I fell when I staggered backwards when I bent over to pick up an object while on my walker. I was not injured in any way. I just sat down backwards. It was 11:15 p.m. and I did not want to call anyone so I used my Life Alert for the first time. You answered right away and sent help out to me quickly. I was trying to remove a bug from inside the house by putting a plastic glass over it and slipping a paper under and that was when I got bit. EMS arrived promptly and was very polite. With no symptoms at all I went to bed about 9:45 p.m. on August 16, 2012; I woke up about three o'clock early the morning of August 17, 2012, with a terrible feeling I had never had before. In my 88 years, I thought and prayed because I felt like my terrible feeling was that of death. I pressed the Life Alert button and immediately help was in my home and the EMTs were at my front door. After a complete physical in the hospital emergency room, they found I had severe case of urinary tract infection, nothing else. I was released with medication and today I'm fine.

I fell in May 2012; I had a right knee replacement in 1975. My knee crumbled and I fell, so I pressed my Life Alert pendant and immediately my monitor was there to help. My husband called me to the computer room where he was sitting in his easy chair in front of the computer. I recognized an emergency sort of sound in his voice. He asked me what is happening, and that he didn't remember anything. I was a bit puzzled but he immediately paused in his speech for a few seconds and then he started talking again. After the third pause, I pressed the button on his emergency Life Alert necklace. An operator immediately came on the line and I asked for an ambulance as my husband was going in and out of consciousness. They answered and said they called an ambulance and it would be here soon. Within a few minutes one was at the door. My husband was taken to the hospital and eventually had a pacemaker put in. I truly appreciate how fast Life Alert responded and helped when I called.

My wife fell breaking her arm and possibly fracturing her neck. This was her third fall in about two months. In each situation, the Life Alert operator was prompt, attentive and thorough. At the time of the most recent fall, the operator was especially helpful with follow up calls. We never have had a negative experience with the Life Alert personnel.

I had slipped getting onto a truck as it is high. My foot slipped and I tore the skin on my left leg and it bled a lot. I decided I needed help as I live alone. I got up from my chair and all of a sudden I felt myself going down and hit the floor. I was able to get into a sitting position but could not roll over and landed on my knees. I sleep in an electric recliner. During the night, the chair control slipped through the chair back where I couldn't reach it. I went out on my deck to fix my carpet; I tripped and fell hitting my head on the side of the house. I was knocked out for I don't know how long. As I put the car in the garage at 1:30 p.m. on 8-6-12, I saw the mailman approaching. I put the car in park, applied emergency brake, and inadvertently left the motor running. The garage door was left up until I put it down with the remote at 9:30 p.m. At 12:30 a.m. Life Alert told me to get out of the house, the carbon monoxide alarm activated and the fire department was called. I am only able to walk with a walker and can't manage steps. I had gone out on my back porch down a step and I couldn't get back in the house, as I couldn't manage to go up the step to get in my house from the back porch.
