Bonnie of Rogersville TN (11/12/08) 2003 G35 Infinity brakes. I too experience the same problem with the brakes. Purchased car less than 2 years ago. Required brake service not long after purchase, and now I am told by the dealer it needs the pads and rotors replaced again. Cost this time 900.00 to replace the same brakes that will do the same thing again. Only replacement brakes that would probably fix problem can cost up to 3200.00. WOW I would use this on a down payment on another care before I would do this.
Also told that rotors cannot be turned on this vehicle. They are thin walled and have to be replaced at each repair. This is ridiculous. Nissan should be accountable for this problem. This becomes a safety issue with me, especially since my younger daughter drives this car most of the time. I cannot find any recall or a class action suit on this issue. Now I just want rid of the vehicle and will lose money at a trade in at this time. Guess I will use the 3200.00 to get out of it.
Tom of Clearwater, FL November 10, 2008
Tom of Clearwater FL (11/10/08) My 2004 G35 Brake pads out at 16K Dealer said nothing even when I questioned them about brakes out so soon. Now at 33K Brakes and pads gone again. Dealer said you guessed it NORMAL! I have a ford f-250 super duty and I haul large trailers all the time still got 50K out of the brakes. I don't expect 50k out of my sports car but come on 16K. This will be my first and last infinity. 40K for a car plus 1100 bucks every 16K. I'll buy a beemer next time.
Just quoted 1100 dollars for replacement of brakes and rotors.First one covered by warranty. Now this one to be charged to me.
Nancy of Tewksbury, MA October 29, 2008
Nancy of Tewksbury MA (10/29/08) Wow! - After having my 2005 Infiniti G35 front brakes replaced in May '08 at about 25,000 miles, I am now finding six months later that the rear brakes are gone. Add to that the fact that the emergency brakes has failed, and I also need four new tires (not cheap!), probably due to the brake issues. I decided to check on line whether anyone else was having issues and I see it is extremely common. I don't think I'll ever buy an Infiniti again (I'm devastating, becasue other than these expensive repairs i love the car). But Infiniti obviously needs to step up to the plate and fix this problem.
Lakisha of Brentwood, CA October 28, 2008
Lakisha of Brentwood CA (10/28/08) I have an Infinity G35 Saden, I Have only had my car for 1yr 4 months now, for the last couple of months I have had intermittent Ac/heating coming on and off.Now the controls are dead including my radio. I contacted Niello Infinty of Concord. The Service dept.informed me the control board and radio needs to be replaced costing over 1000.00. Since I have been researching this issue. I have saw numerous complaints about the same issue with the same yr & model. This is an manufacturer issue not mine, this should be a recall.
Now I have an very nice car that has no radio controls other than the steering wheel,I can't change cd's, I cant control the temp it now has an mind of its own.
Michael of Cerritos, CA October 23, 2008
Michael of Cerritos CA (10/23/08) I purchased a 2006 Infiniti G35 new. After 2 years and 20,000 miles the brakes started vibrating badly. I took it in to service and they told me I needed all four rotors and pads replaced. I have never owned a car that this has happened to.
The dealer told me it would cost 1200 to fix the brakes on a relatively new car.
