Robert of Edmond OK (03/18/09) I, like many others purchased a 2003 G35 sedan. On average, I have had to replace brake pads every 18K miles and front rotors every 36K miles. But now it gets worse. I have approx 90K miles and they are telling me I need a new transmission as it is not shifting and causes the engine to over rev. All this despite the fact the car has been serviced by the local dealer at recommended intervals. The cost of ownership has far exceeded any other similar type car I have owned. And of course, Infiniti will not talk to me.
5 brake jobs ranging from 600 to 1200. Transmission rebuild or replacement estimate 3K - 6K.

Ken of Stockton CA (02/23/09) First had all four rotors resurfaced at 19,000. Had to return 8 months later with the same issue. The dealer stated that this was an issue with Infinity brakes and rotors and resurfaced them again at 34k. One year later while still under warranty they were resurfaced again at 43k miles. I asked the dealer if there was some type of defect with the car, I found it odd to have to resurface rotors especially since I use it freeway only.
It is now 75k miles and time for new rotors all around at a cost of over 400.00. I cannot see affording this car in the near future with a brake issue Infiniti refuses to man-up fully acknowledge and fix. I too am a willing participant in any class action lawsuit.
Kelly of Houston, TX February 23, 2009
Kelly of Houston TX (02/23/09) My service manager says that my car needs a new engine because it has no oil in the car. He said that to validate the warranty on the car I need to provide them with all oil change receipts, which I have done to the best of my ability. Then, I looked online to see what that meant burning oil and it seems this is a problem with the Inifinity FX45.
I am waiting to hear back from them to see if they are going to replace the entire engine under warranty.
I will need a loner car for the time that my car is at the service center if one is not provided for me by Infinity.

Gloria of Fairfield CA (02/09/09) radio/ac unit does not work at all on our G35 infinti. i have looked into this problem and it is very wide spread. it is a safety issue because now my defrost does not work and i have a hard time seeing anything, the dealer says even though they know the problem is wide spread my car does not come under the recall, that i need to buy a new radio for 750.00 dallors to fix it. but ive seen many reports that say i might get stuck buying a circit board too.
the circit board is another 1500.00 dollars. this is so wide spread it is shameful on there part. please tell us what to do. we should have a car that is save to drive. i could care less about radio but heater ac should always work.
can't see for driving. must drive to work. over the amount we can afford because heater ac is hooked to radio which they say must be fixed to repair heater ac. i can get in a serious accident because we can't afford to replace radio to get our heater ac unit fixed
Mike of Sunnyvale, CA February 5, 2009
Mike of Sunnyvale CA (02/05/09) I have a 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan that is having the problem where the AC/Heat Controls, Stereo Controls, are basically useless. I was told by Infiniti Consumer Affairs today that my VIN number did qualify me for the Voluntary Service Campaign on 2003 G35 Coupes and Sedans, that Infiniti instituted to replace the Audio Finisher Circuit Board, whose symptomos are exactly what is happening with my car, but guess what, it already had it done so I am SOL. I have gotten prices of 362->500 from two dealers. This is such a widespread problem Infiniti should be repairing these at no charge warranty or not.
I was really thinking of taking advantage of the current pricing on a new G35 sedan but based on this experience I could be buying a new one with the same problem this one has. Now I am left to contact Consumer Affairs, the dealer where it was first purchased, and everyone else in between.
This is a safety problem when you are driving on the freeway on a cold night and the heater is out of control causing all the windows in the car to fog up and of course the problem itself will not allow any control so defrost does not work at all so you open widows to defog. Ridiculous!
