Jiffy Lube Billing & Pricing Disputes

Consumer Complaints & Reviews

I went to Jiffy Lube in 9/20/2011 for oil change and air filter cleaned. I have some fancy one that has to be washed a certain way. Well, I notice a big difference driving two blocks away. My engine was surging, wow what power! The engine light was on, but I thought they just didn't reset it. I noticed I had a light out. I went Jan. 2011 to Jiffy Lube to have it replaced and have them check out the check engine light at the same time. He lifted the hood and we saw the air filter sitting on wheel well not attached no clip. They put it on and the next day engine light came back on. Jiffy Lube sent me to Dealership to replace sensor, $411.00 I paid. Check engine light came back on 15 miles later. I have dirt in my engine. The Jiffy Lube guys don't know what to do. Huh?

I was upsold on next grade of oil because there was a rebate for $15.00. I hate rebate offers because of the trouble. No, he said. This is easy, go to this website, put in this receipt number and a $15 check will be sent to you in your name. The website was for a warranty (which the car did not qualify for) and there was no place to put receipt number. Lie! Rebate deals are mostly scams! The rebate is a 15 dollar coupon for another oil change. I usually change my own oil. This was a special circumstance. Don't fall into any upsell/rebate scam from Jiffy Lube.

My 38 month pregnant wife went to Jiffy Lube at 5 W Huntington Dr., Arcadia 91007 for only an oil change. I would like to specify only oil change. Her sister works for Jiffy Lube across town and presented her with a coupon for $19.95 for an oil change that is accepted by all Jiffy Lube. She presented the coupon to the service agent and instructed for an oil change only. He took the coupon and later on returned her car and the invoice for a total of $57.55 and told her that the coupon could not be accepted.

She tried to reason with the man and explained that her sister works for Jiffy Lube. She said that the coupon is valid with all Jiffy Lube and expressed that she only wanted an oil change, not the additional services. The sales representative explained that the additional charges were for other services and she has to pay. My wife being 38 month pregnant was so frustrated that she started experiencing severe cramps. She didn't want to argue and just paid the total amount.

My boyfriend recently took his 1997 Ford Mustang to get an oil change and the advisor at the Torrance location on Sepulveda wanted to charge his $60! When he asked why, the guy told him because that's the charge for an oil change on a Mustang. What?! Little did the guy know that my boyfriend works at a car dealership.. Maximum for an oil change on his car is $30 at the most. Bad move, Jiffy Lube! Never going to Jiffy Lube! Spread the word about it to my family and friends so they no longer take their cars there either.

I was at the Kitsap Way Jiffy Lube in Bremerton when I heard an employee yelling at the district manager and threatening another employee, saying she was a snake ** and threatening to put his hands on her. Needless to say, I left without getting my oil changed. My question is why does he still work there? I would suggest that the employee being threatened sue the company! Fire the man!

I had two bad experiences and I decided never to go to another Jiffy Lube. Both of my bad experiences were at the same Jiffy Lube Service Center #2906 in Richmond, VA. During my first time there, they told me that my car needed synthetic oil and they charged me $80 for it. I later called the dealer and confirmed that it was not true. The second time, I bought a Groupon for an oil change and they still managed to charge me an additional fee for a "special oil filter". They did not tell me ahead of time that there would be an additional fee and I'm positive that my 2009 Corolla did not need a "special filter". I told them that I was frustrated that they did not tell me about this charge and I was going to take my business elsewhere. They did not care. Their customer service was awful. I will never go to another Jiffy Lube because of these two experiences.

I called ahead to get a quote on an oil change. I asked them if I needed to print out the coupon on the internet and they said no. I told them the year and make of my Chevrolet truck and that it used 6 qt. instead of 5 qt. He said it would be $29.95 so I went and when it's time to pay the bill, they charged me $45.43. I questioned the price and his comment was he used a extra quart of oil. That's why I called ahead, so that I knew what the price was going to be.

I left my car for them to drive into the bay. Before they discussed the service with me, they had the oil drained leaving me no choice but to accept the work they were about to do. After they finished the job which I overpaid for, they took my money and ignored me. My wife was on the street corner working as a school crossing guard. They went up to her to sign the receipt while she was on duty. So not only did they cheat on us by forcing an oil change, they endangered children by attempting to get my wife to sign the receipt when she was supposed to be watching out for children crossing the street.

I am just back from the subject service - there are three major reasons I am less than satisfied:

1) I did not notice this until back home - I am aghast at the parts charged for the cabin air filter set ($59.99)! That is absolutely ridiculous Jiffy Lube. Google search shows the set sells for $20 - that kind of markup is reprehensible. Had I been made aware of the charge for the cabin air filter set I would have said no thanks.

2) I had said to two service persons to replace windshield wipers. One SP told me they would replace with Rain-X. At check out, I was told that was not done. What's up with that? I can't help but wonder what the markup would have been for the replacement.

3) I was told a left front 'marker light' was out. After signing the work order, I watched from the front of service bay the entire time they worked on the vehicle and I never did see anyone remove lens or access behind the bulb to replace a bulb nor did anyone show me a burnt out bulb. From what I've seen online, this is a common 'questionable' practice of JL's. I can honestly say that I am hesitant to return in 3K miles to Jiffy Lube given the above.

On 03 Sept 11, I took my vehicle for an oil change. The technician stated that I needed high mileage oil, without giving me the cost upfront so that I can either accept or decline the offer. I agreed, thinking that it would not cost more than $30.00 for an oil change. He did the oil change and when I received the bill, I was disappointed because it was $65.67. The bill consisted of $39.99 fr the 5 quarters of oil Penzoil high mile 530 and $19.99 for the high mile oil upgrade along with taxes. I have never paid this much for an oil change in my life and to add the ultimate insult, I was charged $19.99 for the oil upgrade. I called the store and asked them why was I charged the additional $19.99 and the employee stated, "this is what corporate wants us to do." You can bet this will be the last time that I will visit any Jiffy Lube. I will let my family, friends and co-workers know about the rip-off lube job.

I had seven hundred dollars worth of routine maintance done and three - four weeks later had to take to dealership (warrenty) where I was told at min. two things were not prefromed, coolant VERY low overheated and sterring fluid was not flushed which I paid to have done. I had to pay another one hundred tweenty five dollars to the dealer consider routine mainance not covered. I have left the paperwork over a week ago with follow up calls with being told Dennis (dist. mng) would call he never has and everytime I call he is never there.

The Jiffy Lube in Austin TX #2477 charged my wife $108.98 for changing the oil and she agreed to an air filter replacement. The Signature Service was $37.99 and air filter was $21.99. So the charge should have been in the area of $60.

The oil change itself would have been fine since their was a $10 discount which would have had the oil change at $27.99 plus tax and I just got my car's oil and filter changed at Walmart a week ago for $30.88 (including tax). But when I looked at her receipt, I saw an additional charge for $5 for Mobile Synthetic and a $46.99 charge for an oil upgrade (?!). She said she was only informed of the air filter to which she agreed. She didn't know the general price of oil changes and paid, but I am appalled at the unfair business practices found at Jiffy Lube and from past bad experiences. (I was very unhappy when I found out my wife went to Jiffy Lube again in the first place). They are not responsive to complaints. They are more than happy to treat us poorly because there will always be another customer. If they can't make enough money doing simple, inexpensive oil changes, they should get out of the business!

I took my car in for inspection on Labor Day of this year to get a state inspection at store #2923 on Ranch Road 620 at the top of Lake Creek. The employee there proceeded to do a brake check on my car. I told the manager that there was no need as that I had just installed new pads and rotors on the car. He said that it was required by law. OK, I agreed. I don't feel comfortable when anyone drives my car other then myself.

Well, upon doing the brake test, the employee took a turn too quickly and ran my car up onto a curb and skated down the curb being as my car is lowered after market damaging the rocker panel and curbing my back rim. OK, mistakes happen. I understand.

So right now I am in the process of trying to get the car fixed. Jiffy Lube says they will take care of the situation and the car will be fixed. They asked me to get two estimates from local body shops. So far I have gotten three. They claim that the cost of the estimates is too high and are refusing to pay that much for the damages.

I have worked at a couple of body shops in the past and the prices that I have received for my estimates does seem a little high, but I didn't write the estimates and this is apparently what it is going to cost to get my car fixed right. They want me to take my car to their shop. The manager that I spoke with, Brad, suggested that I drop the car off with him and that he would take the car to their repair shop down in South Austin.

I have never been to the shop and don't know where it is and I don't feel comfortable with anyone driving my car but me as I have stated earlier. I have asked my insurance company and was under the impression that I can take my car wherever I want to take it get the repairs done. The manager "Brad" told me that I was incorrect and said he would fix it at his shop.

There is no way I'm dropping my car off with someone I don't know to drive my car to an unknown location where I don't know how it will be repaired and have no involvement in the repairs. They have told me two or three times already that I would be contacted and have not. I had to end up calling corporate to get things going myself. The Regional Manager or maybe he is the Area Manager, Mark **, is whom I am speaking with now. He is telling me that he will not reimburse me more then "his" shop can fix it for.

Well, if it is my right to be able to take the car wherever I choose to get it fixed, then this means that I will have to pay out of pocket to pay the difference if "his" shop can fix it cheaper. I want it fixed right, not quickly and cheaply. After getting the three estimates, this is obviously right around the cost of the repairs. All three estimates are within $30-$50 of each other.

Tomorrow I will go find their "shop" and get an estimate according to the previous ones and lines written in them. So I know the repairs will be done right. My rocker panel is a uni-side, meaning it connects with the whole quarter panel on my Volkswagen GTI. Let's see where I go from here. Wish me luck. If you're a lawyer reading this, then feel free to contact me with a legal advice. Thanks for reading.

I took my wife's 2004 GMC Envoy in for an oil change on 9/15/10, which was Ladie's day. My wife was present with me. After discussing the oil change service with the employee who wrote up the service order, we were led to the customer waiting area. After a few minutes, I was called to the counter by the person I was later to learn was the manager, who began to tell me about the charges. The total amount that he quoted was overpriced and I asked him to check his figures, which at first he insisted was correct, then he checked it again and admitted that he had entered an incorrect code.

Well, in the interim, I was using my personal calculator to check his figures and he became impatient and perturbed because he wanted me to get out of the way so he could wait on another customer. I informed him I have a right to check the figures, because he had already made one mistake. At that point, he became very irate and began yelling. After an exchange of words, I returned to my seat and he went into the service bay area. In my opinion, the encounter was over since I agreed to the corrected total.

A few minutes later, the service tech who was working on my wife's car comes into the waiting room and proceeds to use a profanity laced tirade that it was all my fault because I need to learn how to ** add. Well, needless to say he disrespected me, my wife and 2 other lady customers that were present. The manager did not reprimand this individual, but instead lied on his behalf and said that it never happened. One of the ladies, who was present heard the entire altercation, and she immediately called the district manager and the police and reported the incident as a third party witness. The manager and this employee would not provide us with their names.

We waited for the district manager and the police to arrive. The district manager told us that he thought it was the manager who used the vulgar language, but we told him it was the person who provided the service to the vehicle. I did not have any words with him until he approached me in a threatening manner inside the customer waiting area. I feel my wife and myself are owed an apology none was given, not even by the district manager, the only thing he indicated to us was he was going to send someone home today. We were not treated with respect and Jiffy Lube has lost our business forever. The third party witness repeated the same.

My temperature gauge started to go to hot so I took it to Jiffy Lube to make sure everything was okay because for some reason my hood latch would not open. Since I was there, I asked them to do an oil change and check everything. Well an oil change turned into a full blown tune up and cost me an arm and a leg. They replaced filters, belts you name it. I drove the car home and the fan still came on so I called them back and was told it was probably the thermostat since they had checked everything else.

In the mean time, I stopped driving it until I got paid since they took all that I had left to take it in to another mechanic. Lo and behold, my head gaskets were blown, the new belt they charged me $100 for was a cheap one with a crack already and to top it all off all of my fluids were empty and my car has no leaks. So now I have no vehicle with three kids and kindly called them to go look at car since they did a lousy job. The mechanic tells me it will cost over $2000 to fix my car and now Jiffy Lube is saying, too bad, not their problem. I know a lot of people in Las Cruces and let me tell you they will know what kind of service they are running. If they were as good as they say, corporate headquarters would be calling me today and with no questions and fix my car. Never had any problems with this car and now I will be sure to have everyone boycott this place. By all the comments I have read seems to me we should all get together and hire a lawyer and get what we deserve!

We had an overheating issue while on our way to San Diego. Stopped in a small repair facility and the mechanic checked the radiator and hoses. He advised that there were no leaks but we needed to have the radiator flushed as soon as possible. We chose to continue our trip. The next morning we took the car to Jiffy Lube to have the radiator flushed at a cost of $94.18. While returning home the next day the overheating started again.

Upon returning to AZ we took the car to our local radiator shop. They drained the radiator and found that not only was it clogged with rust, which should have been "flushed" out, instead of anti-freeze it contained mostly water. We paid for water but were charged for 16 qts of anti-freeze we never received. Now it's costing us an additional $280 to have the car properly fixed. Had to spend an additional $280 to make repairs to the car that should have been covered with the $94.18 spent at Jiffy Lube if they would have done the job they were paid to do.

sent my wife to get oil changed. She asked for the $19.99 special.no one bothered to tell her that our suv had to have the more expensive oil until they already had started working on car. They told her price would be $32.99.she agreed to the price since they had already started. Then when she started to pay he told her they had to top the coolent off and charged $3.oo for that. They over filled the coolent. The man i talked to was very rude and all but called my wife an idiot. WE will never go back to jiffy lube and i can assure them none of our family will.

Poor Quality Work, Dishonest, Overpriced !!!

My negative experience was at two separate Jiffy Lube shops. The first was in 2007. The cashier went over the other services performed on my vehicle as annotated on the invoice receipt. When I got to my car the windows & windshield were dirty, carpet not vaccumed, & no washer fluid in the reservoir. When I reported this to the manager on duty he first made excuses, I pointed out the obvious evidence, as well as that this was poor business practice.... that it bordered on false claims & downright fraud. He remained obstinent & I never even received an apology.

Today, 21 Jun 10, was the 2nd incident. Wrong kind of oil, car left dirty, trash left after cleaning inside of vehicle, cabin air filter cover left sitting on the floor. BUT WAIT , HERE'S THE ICING ON THE CAKE! an 80yr (?) old lady in line before me, was charged $169 for an oil change+ on her 09 Honda Accord (with 29K miles)!!! The guy tried to sell me the same. Wish I could have warned sweet old grandma sooner, really felt bad for her and that she was taken advantage of.

I told the man when I pulled up I wanted a basic oil change. I thought when you told them that...you would get the cheapest oil change they offered. Lucky for me, my son gave me a coupon for $10 off...so my total came to $33.89 instead of $43.89. Now when I get home and look up jiffy lube on the internet, I see where I could have gotten the jiffy lube special offered in June for $15.99. Do you know how irritating that is to customers? I will probably not go to jiffy lube anymore due to this.

I got a coupon in the mail for a $19.99 oil change with an additional $5.00 rebate. After parts and labor, my $19.99 oil change cost me $71.63. I'd rather they advertised the real price than trying to be "cleaver" and make it seem like you are getting a bargain, instead of charging you "ala carte" for everything else. That's pretty close to false advertising.

I was told the price of oil change was $35. I agreed and was told I had a bulb out $10 more. I agreed. When he gave me the bill, it was $75. I am so upset. I am a senior and that was nothing but a rip off. I will never go back and I want a refund. They won't return my calls when I used the #800. No damage, just want the Jiffy Lube Corp to see that they should tell the customer what the cost will be upfront. I asked several times. It was an intentional ripoff.

Jiffy lube is charging $60 for air filter that you can pick up for $12 anywhere. I understand you are going to pay a little more for service than doing it yourself. But a 600% markup is ridiculous and misleading to customers, not only fraudulent to their customer base. The economic is that in these hard times everyone is trying to buy with what they have. And Jiffy Lube is stealing from the public. I will never use them again.

I had synthetic oil put in at Jiffy Lube the last oil change and was within 1,000 of my next oil change so I was driving by and stopped in to have oil changed. They said I needed an air filter which was not dirty and a PCV valve which they said they did not have but then found one. The oil change with synthetic oil and the air cleaner and PCV valve came to $90.18. They are so dishonest and doubt if I will ever go back there. They said I needed an air cleaner and PCV valve and antifreeze replacement and wiper blades. That is not true as I did not need any of these. They are so dishonest that it's amazing they can stay in business.

My wife took our 1997 BMW 740il to Jiffy Lube, on 2/19/10 to have an oil change. The car had 159,945 miles, and we use synthetic oil. They used QS SYN 10W30 and charged $23.97 for the oil and charged $68.90 for Signature Service Synthetic. They did not charge for the oil filter. When they totaled the cost, they charged $73.92 for parts and $19.04 for labor and $6.10 for tax, for a grand total of $99.06. I have 3 cars. I change the oil every 3,000 miles. I will not give my money to Jiffy Lube in the future.

Went to Jiffy Lube at 6011 Westminster Blvd. Westminster, CA 92683 for a simple oil change. Tui, the associate, convinced me to get the $59.99 high mileage deal. I agree. Then, he said it would cost an additional $39.99 for the differential cleaning. I agreed to that. Total was going to be around $100.00.

When the work was done, I was presented with a bill of $151.41, and I was asked to sign the invoice saying that I agreed to all the extras, including a charge for extra oil, and anti-freeze (I thought that was included in the price.). I refused to sign, since I was never told by Tui about all the extras he was going to do.

The manager named Brian was called. He agreed that I was misinformed, and deducted a mere $13.00 of my bill for the extra oil. Did not deduct the rest because the work was done. I feel that Jiffy Lube pulled a bait and switch by quoting one price, they hitting me with a higher price of services not requested. What started as a $27.00 oil change ended up costing me $141.00.

I'm a senior citizen, and I took my car for service to this location expecting to get good service. Their sign said the manager's special price of $22.95, but the tech said the price for my car was $44, and he would give me $10 off. They charged me $35.99. He said the cabin filter needed to be changed, and they normally are $120, but he would give it to me for $50. I agreed, and paid my bill. The next day I checked with the Saturn dealer, and the filters there are $24.95. At Kragen, they are $16.99. I called the other Jiffy Lube on 50th St. in Lancaster, and their price for an Oil change is $31, including fees, and the filter is normally $30, but would change both filters for $40.

I went back to the the Jiffy Lube and complained, but they told me that was their prices, and I agreed to pay them. I feel they lied to me, and were taking advantage of my age and lack of knowledge. They were very rude, and would not let me know who the owner was. Stay away from this place.

I was at Jiffy Lube on Monday, 1/25/2010, around noon to get lube and oil. I wrote a check and the Manager said he could not accept an out of town check and I said that is fine and gave him a $50.00 bill and he gave me $16.00 change. I said I know that it is not your fault and that it is company policy, but I won't be back because I pay by check when in Florida for the winter. He said, "You are a dumb **," and handed me the bill to sign, and I said it looks like I am too dumb to sign and he said I couldn't leave until I signed the bill and called me another name.

He said I was not going to leave until I signed the bill and he was going to call the police. I said, "Call the police. I got my oiled changed and you got the money so go ahead and call the police." Then I walked toward my car and he called 2 men out of the lube bay and they were in the driveway when I got in my car and left.

He was still cussing me as I was leaving. I never used a swear word at him and I am 77 years old and have never been treated in that manner at any business establishment. Something should be done about this General Manager because he should not be treating his customers this way. I did not get his name, but he had a tattoo that ran down the rear of his right forearm. I would appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible.

Jiffy lube location is charging #36.99 for their "signature service" without asking me if they want it at check-in, despite me telling them at check-in that I want the basic oil change only. This happened on 2 different occasions.

Jiffy Lube are liars and thieves. I do all the mechanical work myself and told them only change the oil. Then they still checked transmission fluid, rear end fluid, ect. They then showed me a white piece of paper with dirty transmission fluid, metal flacks in the differential, ect... and said I needed to have them replace above fluids. The only problen was that I had just changed all the fluids. Went and did a double check when getting home and everything was still new condition.

To be fair I had the same situation at most national oil change services, including Oil Can Henery's, ect...

On Friday, September 11, 2009 I brought my vehicle in for Signature Service. The technician suggested replacing the PVC Valve and Air Filter. I agreed.

As I was paying my bill, a technician asked if my Service Engine Soon
light had been on before. I said it had not. After I paid, the technician

got back into my car with an OBD scan tool. After 5 minutes, he pulled my car out of the service bay and sent me on my way.

When I started my car that evening, the service engine light came on

and has been on ever since. That weekend the car stalled at an intersection.

None of these things had happened before this trip to Jiffy Lube.

I brought the car back in on Monday. The tech told me that the error
code was the "Pedal Position Sensor," and had nothing to do with
anything they had done. He cleared the error, but it returned next time

I started the car.

I find it hard to believe that it is a coincidence that this error occurred

at the same time my car was being worked on by a Jiffy Lube technician. I am now stuck with a $300 repair.

I am also angry that at the time the error was discovered, the technician cleared it out and sent me on my way, rather than investigating and informing me of the nature of the error.

I believe that Jiffy Lube is responsible for this and should pay the cost of repairing my the Pedal Position Sensor on my car.

I filed this complaint with Jiffy Lube national customer service twice. After receiving no response,

I called and was referred to Sal at the local franchise. I spoke to him on September 29. He told me that Jiffy Lube was not responsible and would not take any action in this matter.

I went in Saturday about 12:30 pm. When in line (three cars were there), I spoke to a young tech and told him that I just wanted an oil change and a new oil filter...nothing more. I said I'd like either 5w30 or 10w30 oil...not any upgraded or premium graded oil such as they added last time. (I have an 8cyl truck). My last oil change cost an outrageous $69.00 for that same thing. (6) qts of oil and a filter! No more I said...just do what I ask. He responded that they don't do that. I ask what he was talking about? He said they only offered "signature service" . I ask what that was and he said it "started" at $40.00 and went up from there.I said no...just a simple oil change and filter-he was NOT TO use anything but 5w30 oil at less than $4/t by their charts. They proceded to do exactly what they wanted anyway and when I ask what it cost they responded $69.97. AT that point the other tech came and told me there was no oil showing on the trucks dip-stick when I brought it in so they took the liberty of doing the higher cost service. I explained to him it was impossible.Amorning before (the 18th of Sept. @ 06:48am I had stopped at Exxon and bought (3) qts of oil and added them due to an engine service light that came on. I then checked that oil myself and it was full! (I have that receipt as well from Exxon-$8.03)

I further explained that my wife and I were just on the phone and she went to another Jiffy Lube nearer our home and got the same service on her Toyota Camry that I had originally ask for on my truck and using just (4)qts of the 5w30 oil @ $3.87 each plus a oil filter-she paid $39.15 for her oil change. A difference of over $26.82 for only two quarts difference in what we should have gotten! I ask for my $26.00 back and they declined and offered a $19.00 gift certificate off my next oil change! Then I declined saying I expected my total $26.00 back and they then decided to actually call the store and review the "Tapes" and investigate. They called back later and only offered $17.00 back. I declined and insisted the manager personally call me. He was to call today (Tuesday-09-22-09) and did not as of 2:16pm. I will next go get a small claims court action if nothing is done today! NEVER USE THESE BAIT AND SWITCH ARTISTS!!!!

Price gouging. I was told I needed cabin air filter changed, and it looked marginal, but OK...part cost, $49.99. I protested that sounded high...immediately offered $10 off. I should have been suspicious at that but was in a hurry and took it. True cost ranges from $7.95 to about $15.00

This first started when I had an oil change and they told me that I needed a new battery back in about Feb of 2009. They put one in at the rate of $90.00 when I told them I would go next door and see what Checker Autos price was I was told that they are the same..Okay,I believed them being a woman and thinking a business would not rip me off. After that for about a month I had to keep having my car jumped they said nothing was wrong with it,my friend came over looked at it and he noticed that it was over 2 years old!!

We went down to Jiffy lube,I was told to come back the next day when Steve the manager would be there. Steve proceeds to tell me that the date did not matter..after I insisted that I wanted a newer one he did put one in(although it was around 9 months old)then told me it was my terminal,so we put one on the negative side. "As for this issue he stated that he had already put a new terminal on the positive side when he installed the battery". For the next few months it has been running sluggish but again I was told the battery was fine that it must be my car?!!? The past few months I knew it was not running correct but Jiffy lube insists that its fine.. Well it started to just die on me and I would have to have it jumped, and it would have this smell of fire!!! After I had it jumped on July 11,2009 I came home and again it smelled of fire,I pulled it out of garage and it did start the next morning, and evening although not running right..Monday 7/13/09 it started in the a.m. went down to Jiffy Lube, they said nothing is wrong...but after work that afternoon I had to have it jumped again..Went down the street for gas and it died again..jumped it again and came home.

It smelled awful!!Next morning I was suppose to go to work at 6:30am And thought I better check on the car and again it was dead!! had to call into both jobs for the day so I could get to the bottom of this being I live alone and have no means of transportation.Called my friend who knows a few things about cars, he came over looked everything over and noticed that the cable was completely melted and the terminal was not even on it there was nothing left but a little nub & black smoke on the hood He said lets just take it down to Jiffy lube show them the results of their neglect, being they put this in, it has not been right and they refuse to correct it!!! Steve proceeded to tell me that it was my fault and not theirs or the battery and he would take a loss if he gave me a new battery and that I have wiring issues!! He put the battery tester on and stated that of 525 I had 517!? We took the battery back home put it back in my car got it jumped drove it to Checker Auto to be tested.. Well as soon as they opened the hood they asked WHO put that battery in?!!? Well it was Your neihbor's Jiffy Lube telling me I have the problem not them!!They freaked, all the black smoke a hole in the pad and a big ark mark, besides a bulging battery!!

They said I was lucky that it didnt blow up or completely catch my car on fire or kill me!The battery was to big for my car they only got around 325 on the battery tester that jiffy said was 517 I took it over to jiffy lube OHHH my.. My book states that this is what goes in it?!!? NOT!! he said it was the books mistake(good one)I insisted on my money back and was calling an Attorney and the main office. I went to checker got the correct size and he then proceeds to tell me he replaced the positive terminal,NO it was the negative. He makes me go buy a positive one at checker.

And its the books fault?!? I missed 12 hours of work!! The stress with having no money and working 2 p/t jobs to make ends meet and I get told it's wiring problems and to take it to a shop to be looked at. And he is worried about losing 90.00 f--- dollars!!! I LOST ALOT MORE THAN THAT!!I have dealt with this AND THE STRESS for months worrying if Im going to get from point A to point B daily! I AM GIVING YOU THIS INFORMATION TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE FOR YOUR MANAGEMENT/COMPANIES/ BOOKS NEGLECT BEFORE I CONTACT MY ATTORNEY.

Took my wife's car in for a oil and filter change. This is a newer car 2008 Audi Q7. It has a internal filter element so I was alright with the $104 cost for maint. 7.4qt synthetic oil and filter. When I got home I checked the oil it seemed a little overfilled and dirty. Was curious about this internal filter filter and what all was involved with replacing it. Looked under the car and found the filter housing. Just looking at it I could tell it wasn't even touched. It had road dust build-up and showed no sign of being removed. Drained the oil and checked the filter and no surprise it still had the old (dealership made in Germany filter).

The invoice states they put on a new HL8158 filter, which obviously they did not! Went back to Jiffy Lube and spoke with the manager, showed him the filter that we took off. He agreed that they do not carry the German filter so obviously it had not been changed. I asked for a full refund and he said the best he could do was fill out a customer complaint form and send it in to their headquarters.

Seriously these people have one of the most basic jobs in the world and they can't even get it right. So now I have to waste more time and money trying to make it right.

Price gouging! $49.95 for a cabin air filter that I could have picked up for $14 at the local parts store.

We took our 2002 Altima for a oil change and 2 weeks later our engine dies. When we checked for oil to our surprise there was no oil. We checked under the car to see if we had a leak, but nothing. We called Jiffy Lube, they told us that we had to get the car towed to a auto mechanic and if they determine the cause of the engine failure was with the oil they would repair it and cover any expenses cause by this problem. We had to get a rental.

When we reported the mechanics findings to Jiffy Lube, they turned around and said that now we had to tear down the engine to failure and they will then send a 3rd party to check the engine and make sure that was the cause. To me and the mechanic that already checked the car, think thats not neccessary. I think they just want to find something to blame me and make me responsible for the damage they caused.

The guy at jiffy lube was recommending my fuel filter he said he was rusted. I Changed my fuel filter a couple days before i came to get my oil change. I was very pressured into getting things I did not need. The managers there are very rude to there customers and i will never go to other jiffy lube again

My wife took our car into Jiffy Lube for an oil change. During the course of the oil change, she was told the car needed a new air filter and that it would cost around $15. She said OK, go ahead and put a new one in. Upon checkout, she looked at the bill and the air filter charge came to $25. She brought it to the attention of the clerk, who said sorry, it wasn't $15, but $25. My wife explained that she was quoted $15 and that was what the cost should be. They refused to change it and my wife asked them to take it out and put the old one back in which they did.

6 months later, we took our car in to a local mechanic for some brake work, and they told us that we didn't have an air filter in the car and asked if we would like to put one in. We of course said yes and paid the mechanic $25. So Jiffy Lube took out the new air filter, but didn't put back in the old air filter and we drove the car for 6 months without an air filter. We called up the store manager and told him what happened. He said, That is impossible because we never quote you the cost of an air filter up front because there are different costs. He then said, You waited 6-mo's to find out you didn't have an air filter? I can't do anything about that because it's been too long. We told him we don't do a visual inspection of our engine every month.

We assume that when you tell someone to do some work on the car, we shouldn't have to double check that it happened. He was extremely rude to us and unwilling to do anything about it because of the length of time. Corporate was no better as they found every reason to say it was too late and we should have checked to see if we had an air filter sooner. I will never go to another Jiffy Lube again as I cannot trust the work to be done correctly. In my book, there's a high probability they will do something to damage your car due to their incompetence or deliberate acts.

I drove my 2002 Buick Rendevous in for an oil change. During this procedure the recommended I change the fuel filter. I told them no. When the oil change was completed the car would not start. The then said they thought I need a new fuel filter and said they were going to replace mine to see if that was the problem. The car still wouldn't start. I had to call my car dealer to have the car towed to their shop and upon their inspection the discovered that the o-ring as missing and was the reason the car would not start. I returned to Jiffy Lube and was told that they did not touch my fuel filter.

My car dealer mechanic has no idea how an oil change could cause the O-Ring to fall out of the fuel filter unless removed. The car drove perfectly before Jiffy Lube changed the oil (they drove it into the bay so the car was in perfect working order) and after the car dealer fixed the fuel filter.

I was charged by my car dealer since Jiffy Lube's negligence was not covered by my warrant. I was billed $100.51.

I went in for a low engine coolant light that was on in my car and also to have the oil changed. They told me my coolant level was fine. I also had a whining noise in the engine that they said was the serpetine belt. I had the serpitine belt replaced and an oil change. On the way home, the coolant light came on again for low coolant and the whining noise was still there. I checked the coolant in the overflow tank and it was below the refill line. The mechanic had stated it was checked and OK.

I recently went to the Chrysler dealer to have work done and he stated that the serptine belt was the wront type and could cause strain on the pulleys. I contacted Jiffy Lube, but no action was taken to remedy the problem but an I apologize from the manager. This apology was before I found out the wrong belt had been put on.

As a result of this, I had to pay $135.97 for work that was not performed and work that was done unrelated to the problem that proved to be of no help. I am simply requesting a refund of my money.

I went in today for an oil change on my 2002 Acura MDX and told them I only wanted an oil change as my husband has a fleet mechanic that can do the other needed maintenance. Halfway through the oil change an employee came in and showed me an air filter with large clumps of dirt on it and told me I needed to have it changed. I finally consented. MY mistake in not asking the price. It was the CABIN air filter for $69.99!

I feel like I was pressured into something I didn't need for an outrageous price. When I questioned the guy, he just shrugged his shoulders and pointed to the sign which said, Cabin oil filter START at $39.99 I feel like all they wanted was to sell me something I didn't need. I will NOT be returning to a Jiffy Lube in the future.

feb 24 1:10 came in to for an 5 points oil change at 34.99 but paid $95.00 at the end. I was told my filters, cabin and air filters were filthy that i need need to change them. I said, i no i will ask my husband first. He says he will give a discount and that if I buy the $60 filter he will give me the other one free. I have no knowledge of cars and i ask him is this how much air filter cost? its pretty pricey. He says, yes, everywhere else would cost me more and I am actually getting a good deal.

Trusting him that I am getting a good deal I say go ahead. A few minutes later, I was approached by a cashier lady who told me that she can cash me out now if I was ready. Thinking that this was how it was done. I went and paid for the total bill. I asked the cashier again, if this is what filters really cost. It seems pretty high. She just shrugs her shoulder. I was asked to sign a customer rating number. I felt I was put on the spot and since all of them were friendly I gave them a good rating. I go outside back to my van, and the gentleman who sold me that filter comes up to me and says that he did not have the cabin filter in stock and that it was ok, just come back tomorrow.

THis after I paid an almost $100 srvc! I asked if they had performed that 5 points services listed on the check list and they claimed they did. But I can't help shake the feeling that I have been swindled. I should have stuck with just the oil change. But they were very convincing that i needed it done and that he was giving me one of the best deals around!

Well i have 3 kids to feed! I also feel I was mislead! I am out about $70 dollars.

My wife went in for an oil change. He tried to get her to do an engine flush at 69.99. He tried to get her to change the air filter. Wanted to clean the engine. Misrepresented an oil upgrade by selling her a synthetic oil at a 40 dollar upcharge. The advertised price is 18.99 with a coupon. We had no coupon so 36.99. However75.99+25.00+69.99 is what he attemted to scare her with. Simply because she is a woman. Overcharge of 40.00 plus an attempt to intimidate for an additional almost 100 dollars for a simple oil change process.

I went to Jiffy Lube in Melrose and La Brea to change my oil and filter. They told me that it was going to take just a few minutes for the evaluation. I wait and wait and wait and all I see was all the emplyes lauphing and joeking around. When they came back they told me your car need this and that and from 39.99 that was going to cost me they said that everything was going to cost me over $150.00 dollars. I did not believe them but I said ok if that is what I need lets do it. I never so anybody working on my car.

When I went to complaint with the front desk one of the employes told me to step outside and start telling me that I was wrong by complaining and treating me really disrespectfull. I told him that he did not have any right to talk to me like that and I told them that I was never going to return to any Jiffy Lube in my life. Not me, not my family or friends because a word of mouth is really powerfull....

I believe that they over charge me and I have heard other bad coments about Jiffy lube so I know that day something whent wrong....

I went to get a oil change with a coupon for a price of $19.98 which says "coupon expires 12/31/2008 Code 994020". I was told that the coupon is no longer good because when they type in the code into the register it will not reduce the price. I think this is false advertising. If the coupon "expires" on a specific date, you should be able to use it until and including that date. The manager in charge told me that he will take off $5.00 off the price, but that is not good when the coupon should have been good until and including today. This is how all other retailers work. I am truely disappointed with this company and plan to go elsewhere from now on. In todays ecomony we all look for a good deal, but when a company decieves you, we can go elsewhere.

My wife brought in our 2009 Toyota Corolla in for an oil change asked for the mid range oil and was charged $68.41. Without asking they did an engine treatment without asking if she wanted it. I went back the next day to complain and was told she was given what is called the signature service. $37.99 +$24.99 engine treatment. This was not asked for. There are no prices posted anywhere. She wasn't asked if this was what she wanted or explained that this was what she would get. Not very professional. I will not use them again. Store # 1248. This is a 2009 Toyota with 4674 miles.

Took my Mom to get her oil changed at a Jiffy Lube on Maple Ave in Zanesville Ohio on November 12, 2008..All we wanted was a basic oil change nothing else..Well the man called us outside and told us we needed a transmission flush for over a 100 bucks..I told him no just an oil change.. So, they changed the oil and when we went to pay he said it would be 67 dollars! We wanted the basic oil change not the most expensive oil change..We also had a 10 dollar coupon, but we didnt' give it to him till after he rang us up and he said he couldn't honor it cause he'd already cashed out.

We were two woman that they took advantage of, bottom line..They lost a customer, and I'm going to get the word out about how underhanded these Jiffy Lubes are to the public..While I was sitting in the waiting area there was an elderly woman getting her oil changed and they called her outside and tried to sell her something she didn't need or want..and when she paid I heard her complain why she was being charged more ...he gave her a mumbled answer.. beware of Jiffy Lubes.

She only had her oil changed Yesterday. Dont know if there was any damage done yet.

I sent my wife down to get an signature oil change done on her car. She goes down the Jiffy Lube in town, they find ALL KINDS of things wrong, tell her they need changed NOW, can't drive it like this. So she goes ahead and does it. 200 dollars later, she makes it home. I see her Bill, and its REDICULAS. They charged her to change her light bulbs, a new air filter (which it was new) a tranny flush, tire rotation, plus more!

200 dollars.

On September 30, 2008 I drove up to the service bay at the Jiffy Lube Service Center and requested on oil change. The service attendant came up to my van and first proceeded to tell me that an oil change was going to cost me 34.95 at that time. I arrived between the hours of 1-3 on that day.

I informed the attendant that it had almost been closed to a year since I had an oil change. He stated to me that he could not give me an oil change because for me not getting an oil change within a years time and if he would do it would be a liability risk. He suggested that I go to a service center and have my van checked out before I get an oil change to make sure no damage was done from not getting an oil change that long.

I admit fault at not getting an oil change in a timely manner but I feel that's wrong for that attendant to come up with that lame excuse not to provide me an oil change service. That discrimination. This is not the first complaint that I've file against jiffy but It will be the last.

I took my 1989 Geo Metro to Jiffy Lube, for a quick oil change, they after checking told be my transmission oil was burnt out, and needed to be vacuumed out before new oil could be added. The vacuum was $110. I never heard of vacuuming oil out, they said it must be done. My total bill was $146

I was charged $56.21 for a basic oil change, and when I asked why Mike the representative for Jiffy Lube in Atlanta told me because they vacuumed my truck, which they only vaccumed the drivers side. The charge for oil was $15 and the labor and parts was 37.00 ontop of the $15 oil charge.

this is consumer rip off, they never once informed me that they would charge me close to $60 for an oil change

On Sept 13, 2008 I took my car (Mazda 2008 cx7) for a standard oil changeat Jiffy Lube. Before they changed they oil they informed me that my car has to have SYNTHETIC OIL BECAUSE THE ENGINE IS A TURBO. I questioned them and asked them are you sure? They insisted that if I do not choose the synthetic oil they would not be responsible if anything happened to the car. So I gave them the OKAY.

When they finished they called me in to where the car was to tell me that my car had an oil leak between the engine and transmission and that I should have it checked out. I was surprised to hear that since the car is NEW. Today I took time off from work and took my car to the dealer AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR. He made the order and I waited an hr and ahalf, again out of work, I almost had to get a rental car.

When the mechanics at the dealer lifted the car first they advised me that my car can never have the SYNTHETIC OIL, it is not good and I have to change it to the regular oil! SECOND, THERE IS NO LEAK! THIRD, THEY FOUND OIL OVER FILL, WHICH IS BAD FOR MY CAR ALSO. IN ADDITION TO THIS THEY FOUND THE FLUID LEVELS LOW!

A standard oil change is $30.00, instead of the$81.30 that Jiffy Lube charged me without a need, AND TO ADVISE ME OF FALSE INFORMATION. I MAKE $39.06 AN HR, I WAS OUT OF WORK FOR APPROX 1HR AND 1 HALF. ($58.59)AND I ALSO HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER TO REMOVE THE SYNTHETIC OIL, $30.00.

JIFFY LUBE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. THEY DID NOT PERFORM THE WORK AS EXPECTED. I EXPECT SOME TYPE OF EXPLANATION IF ANY, REIMBURSEMENT FOR ECONOMIC LOSS.

A month ago I paid ovr $40 (my 1st mistake) for a high performance oil change. stopped in Tues approx 5:30. 2 cars ahead of me. was told maybe 20 min. to have oil & ect. cked(due to car trip this Fri) 1st car left within 10 min. Then the only 2 working, both worked on 2nd. Was a truck & kept talking with him. When it was 5:55 I interupted & asked why it took 2 of them to work on 1 car?

@ 6pm he was topping off oil & fluids...then added air to tires. I asked him how much he was inflating them to. he said 35. I said...no wonder my car rode hard b/4. My tires should b inflated to only 32lbs. So now I am having to wait fot him to take out pressure. I was drivng away @ 6:15.

There was no pyhsical damage to be seen but I'm sure it was hard on my tires to be over inflated for a mo. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Jiffy Lube. OH, he also gave me a bogus # to call when I asked him for a Corp# or Boss #. I only wish I had gotten his name--because if he was my employee, he would be looking for another job today.

On 8/17/2008 I went to Jiffy Lube #1333 for an oil change. They took my car around before I talked to the man behind the counter to check my car in. I thought this is a good efficient use of time for everyone. NOT!! I looked out and they had already started and I still didn't know how much the charge was going to be. How did I know if I could afford it?

They told me that I needed an air filter and I gave my ok. He told me the charges would be $61.81 and I told him to just replace the air filter and forget the oil change. He told me he had already done it and that they would just have to put the old oil back in it. This brings to my mind that either they would put nothing back in (I wouldn't know until it was too late) or they would put back the dregs of oil from heaven only knows how many oil changes had been drained into that drum or place or whatever they use to collect the drained oil from other cars. That thought scared me and I let them intimidate me into allowing the oil change.

There were several men around my vehicle for an inordinate amount of time after this conversation happened. All that was needed at the time of this conversation was for the man to put the top back on the filter holder and that should have been it, drive my car out and let me pay. After all he had already told me that they had already changed the oil. The whole thing rang shifty to me.

I tried calling the 18003458237 number on the back of the receipt. I got a message to leave my name and number and I would get a call back. I got a call/message to call and ask for Mike's extension #278. I did this and he isn't answering, I leave another message with a time frame when I would be home and I still have not heard from him.

I am Jiffy Lube Customer for many years. But lately service getting worst and worst. I have filling that employees try to squeeze every penny from customers for job needed or not. Especially victims are females. On August 25, 2008 I took my spouses car Lexus 2000 for oil change. Service man show me dirty air filter an I agree to changed. Later he told me that back turn light bulb do not work and I told him to replace. After get bill, I was shock of price of light bulb - $19.99. They charge me additional $14.99 for oil upgrade, which I was not told fefore I get my bill.

Besides my car only one more car was on service, but it took 35 minutes for service. Before they do any work they suppose tell customer price and do it if customer agree. Serviceman wipes car windows with oily rug. I have to return back to do it right. But he did not do good job again. After oil change I have to go carwash. I never again will use Jiffy Lube service and tell others about my experience.

I had a regular oil change nothing special and I was told it was 39.95. So I had that done and I had a $10 off coupon. Then they showed me my air filters and one of them was really bad. The cabin air filter so I told them to replace it and I asked how much? They told me it was $49.95 and they could give me $10.00 off. Then I was asked if I would like a copy of the invoice before I paid and I said yes. The gentleman wanted me to give him me credit card without me knowing how much the bill came to. He came back to the car with out an invoice and told me that the services were $99.95.

Well when you add the two together it is only $89.90 and I was supposed to have $20 off. I gave him the coupon after I was told repeatedly that they did not need it yet and then I reminded the gentlemen that I was also to get $10 off of the air filter. So he went back and got me a copy of the reciept and on my bill it was $68.85. Yet I still did not recieve a invoice. After he had taken my card and brought me an invoice because I had to sign for the services performed and for the card did I finally see a bill. When I saw the bill I also noticed that they had asked me if I wanted my radiator fluid topped off and that service would be $4.95. That was not even on there as to being check and I was not billed for it.

I was really disapointed because it was my first time to a Jiffy Lube and I am sure that it will be my last. Very unorganized and a lack of comunication between employees. I also checked over the internet on prices for the air filter and I seen that if I would have purchased it myself it would have been $23.95 before tax. I believe that I was scammed on this issue being that the air filter cost me $49.99 at Jiffy Lube and I realize that there has to be a price increase I understand that but I believe that $26 is a big increase and I know it was not to cover labor because it did not even take the gentlemen 5 minutes to change the air filter. I am not happy with the service that I recieved or the cost.

I am currently deployed to Iraq and found out that store #2780 preyed on my wife like a pack of vultures. I am filing a complaint with the manager, filing this complaint here and with the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General. My wife went in for a regular oil change in which she was appropriately charged for ($28.99). Then one worker came to her and asked her about replacing the air filter since we had denied it the last two times, she said yes. Another worker came up and mentioned another filter and she said she'd have to ask me first and he left. He did not completely explain which filter and did not get authorization for it. Apparently they ran out of some filter and ran across the street to the Ford dealership to purchase a filter, came back and installed them.

She asked them why they opened the gas tank fill port and they said they always do that for the filter. The fuel filter is not in the tank, so why would they open the fill port? She was not specifically asked if she wanted the fuel filter changed and NEVER authorized it. She authorized only for the AIR FILTER to be changed. The vehicle is still under factory warranty and if it required the fuel filter we would take it to FORD to be changed or I would personally change it when I return in a couple of months.

She was charged 48.99 for an air filter and the 10 minutes of labor to install it. The air filter is $20.00 at most parts stores and I know because I replaced it before I deployed. $91.00 is way too much for a $30 oil change with the air filter being roughly $20 and another $30 in labor?

When my wife (and two young children sitting in the hot vehicle waiting) tried to start the vehicle it wouldn't start. They mentioned it was because there was no fuel in the lines. This is what triggered her to the fact that they did something that she did not authorize and immediately told me via a text message. My wife is not a mechanic and was mislead by the maintenance workers at a store that you have authorized under your corporate name.

When I called at 1:30 in the afternoon (local time) I was told the manager, Robert, would not be in until 4 pm. What kind of manager does not come in during the busiest part of the day? I have made a couple of professional requests for Jiffy Lube to make amends. I await their reply to my requests. If they do not comply with a simple audit and disciplining the manager then I will notify the BBB and Attorney General.

No actual damage except misrepresentation, hounding my wife and other ilegal sale practices.

I drive my 2000 Nissan Maxima 110 miles everyday five days a week. So, I pulls my car every 35 days to Jiffy Lube shop for changing oil and filter. In the past 3 years, I made more than 30 visits and each time I paid $34.99 for the PZl 5W30 oil.

This morning Aug 4th, I went to store No 872 in Falls Church and the Mechanic asked me whether I want the same oil & filter used in the past. I replied yes please. Upon check out he run my credit card for $46.16. I asked him that I always paid $35.82 ($34.99+.83 tax), I asked him to view my last month 6/11 record and he would not pull it. He said some stores belong to Jiffy Lube Corp and some are not and our prices are different. I told him that I went to different stores in the past three years and they all charged me 34.99. He called another guy, Brian and both moved to another computer and the cashier flicked his eye to Brian and Brian repeated the same answer.

I have receipts from the past 4 visits and all of them have the same type of oil for $34.99, except this store ripped me off for $46.16. I was embarraced in front of other people who were waiting in line at 8am and he pulled an addition $10.34 from my pocket. I am very upset and I will inform Jiffy Lube Corp Office.

late last year i went to jiffy lube for an oil change. i was advised that i was required to buy special high mileage oil since my vehicle was over a certain mileage. when i got home i discovered that the person there did not read my odometer correctly & overstated my mileage by over 10000. miles. i complained and was given the run around, was talked to rudely and baited until i was yelling at them.

i do not like being tricked and cheated. i wound up paying about twice as much for a simple oil change. i verified that with both goodyear and firestone who offer oil change services in merced, and they told me special oil is never needed, especially on high mileage vehicles because it makes little difference. jiffy lube over charged me between 10 and 15 dollars, & many hours of trouble trying to get a refund, which was refused.

The oil change worker that I presented my $19.99 coupon to charged me $49.70 for an oil change. He asked if I would like to upgrade to a synthetic oil that would last 5-6K miles and it would only be $26.99. So I said ok. He then told me that he changed the filters and still knocked off $13 bringing the total to nearly $50 after I continually told him NO to all other services since right now is not a good time for me financially and I would come back later.

i sent my wife to get an oil change for our 2007 mitsubishi outlander, and i had said to her i just wanted a regular oil , and they kept on pushing her specialty 4x4 oil which is not needed for that car according to the manufacturer. and cafter she had said no to the specialty oil, they did it anyway. just to charge her more.

they charged twice as much for it, after they were told not to. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN

Was not charged the price listed for a Oil change I was Told the price changed the day before i was ripped off.oil change and filter i was charged 69.97 for my 2003suzuki XL7 2.7L 6CYL dealer nevered charged me that much. Iwill never use this service again.

Said they were giving me a coupon book that I didn't even want and then billed me $3.00 for and charged an additional $3.00 fee called customer appreciation. They essentially stole $6.00 from me after the did their over-priced oil change.

Our van needed an oil change as soon as we could. So I had my wife take it to Jiffy Lube. I told her to only get an oil changed and nothing else, since I know they try to sell you as much service as they possibly can. After the vehicle was in getting serviced, a technician came in (if you want to call them that) and told her she needed a fuel filter. She of course said no. They went on to explain that the fuel filter was rusted and not just surface rust, but rusted all the way through, from the inside out. I'm glad she listened to what I said about not taking any other service no matter what they said. She told me when she got home what they said.

So I looked up the service schedule for the vehicle. It said our particular vehicle needs an inspection of the fuel filter at 60,000 and replace as needed. So I went out and climbed under the vehicle and took a look for myself. It was not rusted at all, not a hint of rust; it looked like it was new. This makes me really mad since they tried to take advantage of her. They wanted to charge $49.99 for a $10 filter, and I know it would only take about 10 minutes to replace it myself.

This isn't the first time this has happened. They also wanted to replace the license plate bulbs and turn signal bulbs in a brand new vehicle. I said no and drove the vehicle to a parts store to take a look, and nothing needed replacing. Only reason I had the wife take this vehicle to JL is because I couldn't get the drain plug out. We will never take another vehicle to a Jiffy Lube or any other such place again--only to my trusted mechanic.

I use to go to Fountain Hills Jiffy Lube but moved from there. They were EXCELLENT! I tried on on Higley Rd. Mesa, and they were dirty and sloppy with high prices. I found one near work and spend my lunch hour there for an oil change and air filter (more than the Chevy Dealership). Since I visited there, my oil service light comes on. I called then and they told me to come and have it checked. I spent most of my lunch hour there and NO ONE knew how to reset the oil light on my dashboard even with their instruction book. What a waste of my time and gas. I will continue at the dealership.

Waste of my lunch time, GAS and mileage and now a trip to the Chevolet dealership and have to wait there for their 'resetting' the oil light.

I wanted to get a fuel filter changed and the fuel injection system cleaned. I had my own fuel filter and the gentleman told me it would still be $35.99 and then I told him I was there at this Jiffy Lube on 1/13/08 (Oil change) and they offered the fuel injection system clean for $25.00 he asked his boss and he told me that price was only good with my oil change. I then told him I would no longer be a customer. I have been using this Jiffy Lube for years and have never asked for nothing but the one time I do, they treat me like it didn't matter if I was a loyal customer or not.

1/29/2008 Ford F250 HD Powerstroke 7.3L Diesel Was told Signature Service Oil Change would $56.99. Job was completed and I was presented with a bill of $101.73. I pointed out what I was originally told and they told me that their estimater software only figured up to 5 quarts of oil on the estimate and that I needed 15. I pointed out that they knew what the truck was and given that they seemed to know every other factory service detail, how could they not tell me up front that there was going to be an extra $39.00 worth of oil needed to fill it. I got sympathy but no satisfaction.

I

I was over charged on signature service, my vehicle was leaking oil (spotted when parked), and they broke or lost air filter clips that hold it down.

My mother (75 years old) took my car for an oil change while I was at work. They ended up charging her $123.00. They sold her the engine flush and new windshield wipers, neither of which were needed. When I called them about this, I was told that they offer these things to the customers. They told my mother that these things were needed. They showed her the gunk in my engine, well that's why I wanted an oil change. Then they told her my windshield wipers were ragged, but it's been raining for 4 days and I never noticed anything wrong with them. I feel they completely took advantage of an unsuspecting elderly woman who thought she was doing me a favor. When she became aware of what they did, it made her cry to think they saw nothing more than an old fool. They may have gotten $123.00 from me but they'll never get another dime.

I asked if JL if they can fix my AC? After diagnostic ($35) they gave me an estimate to fix the AC at $220 and one day time. After 6 days, I got my car back with a dead AC. I paid $300 for the job. They promised to accomplish the job the next day. It did not happens. Now, they asked me not call them any more.

I lost $300 and went 6 days without car.

After an oil change my car engine and oil lights came on an then my car shut off on a highway. Jiffy Lube asked me to bring the car back to them to service it. After leaving them a second time my coolant lights would not go off so taking it to a mechanic, I was told that my radiator was damaged and there was not enough oil in my vehicle. Jiffy lube only apologized for not refilling the oil. The mechanic stated this is usually what happens when the plug is not put on after an oil change

When I realized Jiffy Lube was a rip off was when my mom took my car to get a basic oil change done. She decided to go to Jiffy Lube to get it done quickly and while letting her know what they were going to do, they told her she needed a new oil filter. She said ok, they charged her and then she brough my car back to me. Well she told me this and I had to tell her she got ripped off seeing how I have a K&N air filter on there and they wouldnt be changing that. So beware of the many scams.

Glad to hear that others think Jiffy Lube is a rip off. A few years back I went to get an oil change. It was busy so one of the guys told me , he would give a $10 discount for waiting. Once I got it inside they told me the Transmission filter needed changing . So I said sure. Once I went to cash out the manager told the lady ahead of me that she too had to have her Transmission filter changed. A light went on then . That was the first and last time I went to Jiffy lube So people please be aware of this. Not just Jiffy Lube but other quick oil change places. This is how they make their money

I went to Jiffy Lube for a tune up, they said that I needed my transmission flushed. I asked them if they did Volvo cars,Manager Ray Herrera told me that they did. I said ok. I drove out of their shop and not even a block away, the transmission slips. I turned around and came back. Ray said that they over filled the transmission and would flush it again. ( I thought to myself that if it was full then why didn't they just drain the excess off) After three flushes and the manager Ray Herrera taking my car on a high speed test drive, the car finally broke. Ray told me that they were so sorry that they broke my car and that they would pay to get it fixed. Ray called for a flatbed tow truck and payed to have my car towed to the Volvo dealer. ( if they said that they did nothing wrong then why did the pay to have my car towed to the dealer). I came by the shop the next day to see if I could get what they said, in writing. but they now had to talk to corporate first. Volvo called me to inform me that they did not use synthetic fluid and the repairs on my car would add up $ 4,500.00 . I called Steve Sheilds at Jiffy Lubes Corporate office. He informed me that Jiffy Lube did nothing wrong and they would not be paying for any damages. I told him that the General manager Rommel Santos, Manager Ray Herrera and Assistant Mananger Al ( I do not know his last name) all three told me that this was Jiffy Lubes problem and the all told me that they would pay for all cost involved and they were so sorry to put me through this. You can also tell by my bill that they used ATF instead of Synthetic because of the cost. Jiffy Lube only charged me $14.00 for the transmission fuild. Synthetic is $ 24.72 a liter instead of $ 3.10 a liter for ATF. If they used Synthetic then my bill would be a lot higher than what it is. Jiffy Lubes Management team lied to my face when they all three said that they would pay to get my car fixed. Please help. I'm a divorced mother with two kids and I do not have the extra money for this or a lawyer.

My car is 6 mos old. I pulled into Jiffy Lube and asked for an oil change ONLY. I said, "the filter doesn't need to be changed". He said "ok".

He rang me up for an oil change, including an oil filter change, and added the signature service for $36 on top of it! I said I didn't want the signature service. He said, "I can't take it off". I said, "fine, I'll take my car somewhere else". He said "We already drained the oil".

I just gave up at that point. I wasn't going to cause a scene while they still had the opportunity to mess around with my car. I said ok, but I'm never coming back here again. These bait and switch tactics are illegal.

Last visit for oil change they claimed my tag lights needed to be replaced. I took their word on it and paid to have them replaced for $30. I just went for the next oil change and they said the same thing, that the tag lights were out. I explained that they replaced them last time and that they certainly should still be working. So therefore I declined the bulb(s) replacement.

When I returned home, I checked and the tag lights were working properly. Is this a scam?

My wife took our van in to have an oil change. The usual price is $30. I gave her a coupon for $7 off. When she came back they'd charged us nearly $300 for additional services they'd convinced her we needed. It seems obvious that some Jiffy Lube employees deliberately prey on the unsuspecting public. That is what I'm convinced happened to my wife.

I believe I was ripped off by a salesman, not a mechanic. I went in for just for an oil change (I had recently had a 30,000 mile checkup by a mechanic) Signature Service $19.99.

What I got billed for was: T-Tech Transmission Service Engine Flush $49.99, Professional Engine Flush, HL4967 Oil Filter (again?), MV1030 PVC Valve $14.99, & Premix ASTM Virgin AFC for a whopping $194.96. They stated they added windshield washer fluid and radiator fluid to reservoir & radiator.

The first time I used my wipers the spray came out brown & stopped working. I had used the washer (before Jiffy Lube) and the spray came out clear. My commute to work is 6 miles and my car started overheating. Now my radiator is cracked. It was not cracked before I brought it in to be serviced.

I brought this to their attention and they gave me some fast-talking jargon that I did not understand. The economic damage to replace the radiator is between $280 & $700 through the dealership.

Currently both radio stations KFI 640AM and KABC 790AM in the Los Angeles aerea are carrying a commercial stating that a $10.00 reductuion on the price of an oil change will be given if the customer requests the price reduction and gives the name of the talk show host. I entered the Bellflower jiffy Lube location at about 1:30PM on Tuseday April 4, 2006, requested an oil change and gave the name of Al Rantell (host on KABC 790AM) and requested the $10.00 price reduction.

I was informed by the employee, (quote) "NOT THIS WEEK" I immediately left and had another local business do my oil change. In the past two days I have heard this price reduction promotion repeated several times on both KFI and KABC Is this not a violation of Truth in Advertising. or can it be considered Bait and Switch? I intend to follow up with a letter to The Better Business Bureau and State of California Automotive Repair Bureau.

I pulled into an empty Jiffy Lube for their advertised $19.99 oil change on my 1988 Toyota van. There appeared to be approximately 4 employees and one of them promptly told me they did not have a filter for my vehicle. I drove to the Toyota dealership, purchased a filter for $6.41 and returned to the Jiffy Lube location. I asked them if they could now service my vehicle since I was providing the filter.

The serviceman promptly told me I would not receive a discount because the price was in the computer (?). He then pulled my vehicle into a stall but did not know where the engine was nor how to get to it. I had to raise the seat and show him. Approximately 15 minutes later they pulled my vehicle out of the stall and told me they were finished. I asked the serviceman if they had checked all of the fluid levels and he assured me they had.

He began to prepare the bill and told me the total due was $22.86. After speaking to another employee he told me I was receiving a $2.00 discount for the filter, making the total $20.86. When I returned to my office I looked at the bill and was surprised by several things I saw. First the gross sales was $21.93 and not the advertised $19.99. On the Service Checklist I noted all of the items they claim to have performed: Vacuum Floors (not so), Wash Exterior Windows (not so), Check Wiper Blades (not so as the driver's side blade is seperated from the rubber).

Since these highly visible items were not done, I am suspect as to the "hidden things" having been done such as the fluid levels, air pressure in tires etc. All in all I would say the service I received did not measure up to all of the signage in the store touting how important service is to Jiffy Lube. This was not my first trip to this location, but it was the worst experience there and was an indication why this shop was empty.

We went in to get an oil change for our neon. They changed our oil and were finished in approx six or seven minutes. There was no lube or anything done but an oil change. We were charged $35.50 for an oil change which is nothing but hwy robbery. There are places all around this store that changes oil, but we were running late for an appointment and we used jiffy because there was no one at all on their lot and we wanted to get in/out as fast as we could.

There is wal-mart, (oil change is 15.00), there is Vavoline (oil change 19.00), there is another that I caint remeber in bakewell just above Soddy Daisy. There an oil change is 17.00. Not only that, in the past they have left my oil cap off, I went to them and they charged me to replace it. They left off my coolant cap, I went back and told them, they charged me to replace that.

Charged $18.99 for an air filter on a Mazda pick-up truck when they said they would charge only $10.00. They said it was too late after the filter had been installed. I am a refugee from hurricane Katrina and feel that I was just cheated.

I stopped to have an oil change only. He asked if I wanted the signature service and I said again oil change only.Told him my regular place had been using synthetic oil because of the mileage. He then came to me with an air filter that was dirty and asked if I wanted to replace it. I told him yes. I assume the signature service which was31.99, consisted of washing windows and vacuum floors. Do not believe they did the floors because I was getting ready for a camping trip and had things in the van on the floor. I know they did not move it.

When they were finished, (and I should have asked them the cost before I said go ahead, but did not) I was informed the cost of the oil change was 101.99 cents. After I complained they took off $10.00. Told them I would never be back to one of their facilities and wrote on the bill I sign, (which I should not have done) that this price was highway robbery. I would like to write to the main office and complain because I have never in my life paid 100.00 for an oil change
