Since 1986 our Church was designated as medium business. When I noticed in Oct 2019 that we had repeatedly been over charged. They asked for a month to refund us the overages. Now they say we may owe them.

I bought my house and call Nevada power. Like everyone else my 3 bills came 300 but online made a offer to pay a equal payments for 159 a months and every 6 months they will do a evaluation and if I used more power it was going to be high but if I used less it was going to lower it. I was at my house for 1 year. After 1 year I sold my house and I call to cancel and then 2 weeks later I got a bill more than 1,000 ( I will post the bill 2). I was shock. I call customer service. First of all the guy was rude telling me that's why I owe for the months I didn't paid because it was equal plan but in the statement always show how much I really used and the equal plan.
I explain them that's why I call customer service and ask them if I was going to paid the difference in the future and they said no. And I request to talk to a manager and it was the same thing explaining you have to paid that because on the bill it show and I told them you should tell customer. Eventually you have to paid all that money that you "supposedly saving" because if I knew I had to paid it I think I will like to paid every month then paid full balance.
Manager told me, "You sign online. You had to read all the details," and I told him I did sign but I call customer service to ask because I thought it was too beautiful to be true. And customer service confirm with me that every 6 months it was going to evaluate and I don't have to paid the difference. I imagine if I continue with this equal paid for 10 years imagine how much I will owe. Don't get the plan. Just paid your bill monthly or get solar panels.

I'm on a FlexPay (prepaid) account and I've been trying to add money to it for over an hour! I keep resetting my password/username etc. You would think such a (stock) company would have a better payment system. Seems I'm not alone which makes it seem like an internal issue being controlled (considering your 24/HR. Helpline is BOGUS AS WELL!) Better not be a ploy to get in the red then try to make a come back with charging everybody late fees! Just saying.. Something is not right!

Get a WiFi thermostat from anywhere except NV Energy. This thermostat is garbage. In winter it goes up in temperature automatically to roasting you until you turn it back down over and over again - repeatedly wasting energy and gas. In summer the air conditioning temperature goes up automatically to join "Community Events" and again roast you until you repeatedly turn the thermostat down several degrees below the purposely false reading on the thermostat.

I signed up for: Take charge of your finances with Equal Pay. "With this payment option, we'll take the cost of your average power usage from the last 12 months and divide it into equal monthly payments. Or, with Equal Pay - Summer Saver we can make those summer bills more affordable while keeping your payments through the rest of the year more manageable" and they change it. How fair is this. So they change without a warning and makes my budget all messed up. Not to mention the power outages at least once a week. We seem to lose our power, out for hours so that my home gets hot.
Faulty equipment and when the power is finally restored after 5 or more hours at the hottest time of the day, what happens my AC has to work to get my home back to 79 degrees and my AC unit is only 5 yrs old and very well maintained. They should be required to give a credit for the inconvenience as well as the strain it puts on the AC unit. Then on top of it all they say they are requiring a deposit. Can't afford but paying doesn't matter. They add on charges that make a sane person crazy. How is this right? How can they be allowed to treat hard working people that make too much money to get help but not enough to live? Makes me want to just give up on life!!

My gramma missed a payment last year when she was in the hospital, got it sorted out fast. But since then we've been getting shutoff notices. In March 16th of this year, we got a notice and she called, paid through NV Energy's bank [Wells Fargo or Western Union?] and then she talked to someone who said the payment went through [which I confirmed as well through the website as a balance due of $0.00 was shown and the bill confirms that as well]... And that no more notices would be sent.
On the 25th, early in the morning when we were asleep, the power was shut off. My gramma is on oxygen, they know this, she keeps telling them she's scared of the power getting shut off every time she calls because of a notice. She filled out a green something but now they're wanting her to do it again? I swear to God they must get them and throw them away or something. We don't know how long she was without oxygen but we had a guest in the house who woke up and found the power off, told us, we got my gramma on mobile oxygen.
She called and was told she owed money again. So she paid the bill a second time. Then, on April 3rd, she paid one last time, except she didn't approve the payment, we have no clue where that last one came from. My gramma has fallen far more than usual since the power went out on the 25th, likely a result of her being scared to fall asleep because the criminals at NV Energy have proven they don't care about anything. I'll explain what I mean through the telling of the events.
No only has my gramma's health declined, my PC and PS4, which were working beyond perfectly before the power was shut off, are failing. I'm in constant pain. Horrible pain that I can't describe except to say I have IIH. If you know what it is, and know, either because you have it, or because you've heard how bad it is, then you know. If not... It's brain swelling, my head, my back, everything hurts. The only time I can take my mind off the pain is when I'm playing video games or sleeping, of course I can't do much of games but... Once they're both dead, so am I. They are my lifelines. I also have Autism and PTSD. I'm not on disability yet, I don't have a phone. I have no way to fix NV Energy's mistake myself, all I can do is hope they do the right thing. Or that's all I could do.
I emailed them, got in touch with Kristen **, Sr. Claims Investigator, and she did an investigation, said there is no evidence showing they are at fault. Problem is, we have evidence showing otherwise. So I asked her to send me the evidence she has showing they aren't at fault. That was a week ago. We'll never hear from them because the only way they have anything other than what we have, is if they create fake evidence, which should be really easy to prove is fake, especially since I have automated emails sent by NV Energy each time my gramma paid. Can't fake that. I've sent the proof out to a number of people just in case [yeah a bit paranoid sorry] they send someone to forcefully take and get rid of the evidence. It's out there and it always will be, quietly for now unless anything happens to us.
Anyways... As I said, I'm disabled. Not only that, I need to stay close to home to watch after my gramma, she tends to wander when people aren't around. I'm on... WAS on until we got a letter yesterday SNAP and Medicaid through DWSS. Yesterday I got a letter saying I'm no longer eligible because I'm not a resident of NV. I couldn't understand why they would say that. Then it hit me so hard. The only thing that makes sense. NV Energy. Doesn't that make sense?
I've lived here since February 2004. I think my flight into McCarren was Feb 21st, 2004. But the power company does something wrong, refuses to take responsibility, and now I'm not a resident of the state? What else makes sense? I honestly hate this city. It is the most corrupt, evil, heartless place I've ever lived. We need help. We need help and all that we get is crooks at every turn. Someone please help us?

DO NOT GET THE SMART THERMOSTAT (Powershift by NVEnergy)! HORRIBLE TECHNICIAN! On Friday, March 15, 2019 a technician came to install the Smart Thermostat. We live in a high rise and the technician knew NOTHING! When our Facilities Personnel came up to assist him, he went into the kitchen and did not pay attention to the process of installing the thermostat on a commercial unit.
The technician messed up the wiring and burnt it out. He never fixed it. Today, Monday, March 18, 2019, our facilities personnel is here repairing what that Nevada Energy Technician destroyed. If we could rate them a 'O', we would. We found out that other people in this high rise had issues with NV Energy Technicians when installing that Smart Thermostat! We did not have any heat/cooling for the entire weekend. The Technician was one or all of the 3 S's (Simple, Stupid or Slow). Don't waste your time. To avoid additional headaches and problems, keep the thermostat you have. NV Energy should hire skilled technicians that know what they are doing. NEVER AGAIN!

Usually you can submit a invoice and they may lower the charges down to what your bill would normally be....it wasn't a definite but I would at least look into it. I called the claims dept. left a detailed voice message, no return call back... Called again the next week. Had to leave another detailed message and finally right after like an hour later I get a call from a representative there who was basically rude and condescending. If I worked for NV Energy then I wouldn't have made the call, then I would know that only problems that they cause could be covered, smart ass!!

Called NV Energy again, and was told that no one had reported outage in my area, and they will now send someone out. This time their estimate for return of power to be 8:00 pm. ??? Now 6:25 pm, and home still without power for over 2 hours. Outside temp now at 106. We are elderly seniors in a condo without power to operate AC or fan. NV Energy is on my speed dial as I have to call them constantly for power outages. Have lived in 8 states and never called a utility company until LV. Every year for 13 years I have had to contact them multiple times for power outages. Profits for years have gone to management and shareholders while inspection of cables has been ignored. Now I am looking at months of power outages while they fix what they have been ignoring. There is no excuse, only the explanation that NV Energy has no concerns for their customers. Their concerns are centered on profit. YES ON QUESTION #3 November 2018. If I could give negative points on their review, I certainly would.

No nothing for the past 6 months! No lie! Why is my bill this high? When I called NV Energy I was told that regardless of your payment plan they can increase that dollar amount every 6 months. Not how you do business. Money suckers! Could not tell me at all why my bill is this high. I requested a meter read a month ago and they have yet to still come to my home and I guess it's no longer just a meter read it's a "whole energy evaluation". Are you kidding me? I work during the day. Nobody is home!!! There's no reason why my bill should be this high. I was only given possibility as to why it could be high. What a joke.

My ears have been ringing nonstop ever since. Dogs in the household are lethargic, one of my relatives is constantly tired. My relatives are elders. Eyes constantly burning. And the last bill is already higher when it suppose to save you money. It doesn't show the panel are producing enough energy to be efficient and save money like it was promised. Had a technician call to say he was 15 minutes away, then call back to say he wasn't coming, then the customer service rep said there were no notes on my account, and now my scheduled service appointment window has passed, and I'm on hold with customer service, again. NV Energy has less than 2 weeks before they send out a 10 day shut off notice. I have paid my bills on time and over the amount for years. I recently fell on hard times and got behind. I was shocked to find that if you fall behind after being 10 days late they send you a disconnect notice. I have now been late twice in a year. They tell me if I am late again 2 more times I will have to give a deposit. This after living at my house over 10 years! What does it take to build credit with this company? Today is the 28th. My bill is due on the 6th.
Today on the phone I told the operator I couldn't pay it until the 22nd. He said a 10 day disconnect notice would go out on the 12th. 6 days??? That's the grace period, 6 days? I'm not trying to skip out on paying. I just don't have it right then, just 16 days after the due date. Not 30, 45, just 16 and you send a disconnect after 6 days? I CANNOT WAIT until there is another alternative to NV Energy. I get that it costs money for power, that's not my complaint. It's the billing and the no tolerance rules for payments, it's ridiculous. There are a lot of people out there just trying to make it. The last thing they need is their power shut off, and then trying to get back up, they add more fees, deposits, etc. They try to brag about how good they are for the community, they are a joke.

So, like everyone else I am hating my "Smart" thermostat. I have come to a point of common sense and realize that it is NV Energy that is pretty smart to sell us idiots this horrible device. Giving away our power to set a temperature that is comfortable and affordable was a terrible mistake. We were all promised a savings on our bill, but I do not know one person who has had a lower bill after have this device installed. Instead we all gave away our power to choose and NV Energy is laughing all the way to the bank! LETS ALL GET TOGETHER AN START A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT! NV Energy may be a super request power... But what's right is right and there is nothing right about this!
I am finally having my thermostat removed. Then I am going to get my usage records from NV Energy for the last 5 years. And if there is no discount as promised, I intend to request a refund, and start a class action lawsuit against them! Join me in the fight! It is time for us to stand together and hold them accountable rather than just complain about it and do nothing. NV ENERGY IS LAUGHING AT US FOOLS. LET'S MAKE THEM PAY!!! Contact me if interested in doing more than just leaving a review. We can win if we stand together!!! "All that is needed for evil to continue is for 1 good man to do nothing" ...GOD.

Every cent NV Energy receives from us is made by hard work sweat. These jerks have no compassion for the little guy. For us we have to choose electricity or car insurance. Electricity or rent. Electricity or food. It's apparent we chose something else before NV Energy or we wouldn't be in this mess. Yes they sent us a notice but again how do you choose? Especially when you have children. I purchased my home with the mpowered thermostat already installed. When I log in from the mobile site I am able to see my account information, but when I click the desktop link it says my login information is not correct. Then, when I try to access my thermostat through the internet, it also says my email and login information is incorrect. I am having to adjust my thermostat every hour because thermostat will just automatically adjust the temperature from 75 degrees - all the way up to 83 degrees. And my bill seems to have tripled.
I have an appointment to have the thermostat removed, but it is not for another week and it is getting to be an uncomfortable inconvenience having the mpowered thermostat connected to my home. So I called again and was told I could remove the thermostat myself and they will a box to mail it back in, which is what I am going to do.

My power has been disconnected for over a month now. It was originally disconnected due to late payments under my name. My bills were not correct. I had paid for 3 deposits in one year plus the associated reconnect fees. Their office failed to show me where the deposits were applied to my bills. I've been renting 2 rooms out to help pay bills and I made an agreement with my tenant to establish power under their name and to pay the monthly bill in exchange for rent. They didn't make any payments and disappeared a week before power was to be disconnected.
The power was terminated and I was told I had to meet with the investigations department to reestablish power. I was told by this department that I had to prove I had ownership of the house. I provided this evidence and was then told it will take $2100 to reconnect. There was my original $1100 and $1000 due from my tenants that disappeared. Their bill was $560 from my address and $440 from their prior address. I should not be liable for that.
I am currently unemployed. I worked for Motorola for 28 years until my industry faded out. I am 55 years old and am currently seeking disability due to health issues. Temperatures have been in excess of 110 to the point that I can't even think straight anymore. I have filed for energy assistance, I'm still waiting for a case worker. I have pleaded with NV Energy to no avail. I haven't figured how to come up with this money and can't fight anymore. Please, what can I do?

We received a bill for $638.00 transferred to our account and the burden of proof has been put on us to prove it is not our bill. This mistake is NEVADA POWER ERROR or a darn poor way of doing business. We have never received a bill for this amount. We do not know what it is for other than it is for service provided to a property other than ours. We do not know the time it was incurred or by who. We have never received a phone call nor an email inquiring. We were told we had to submit numerous documents, including utility bills. Nevada Power has our utility bill(s) since 1987. They want a police report. There is no police report as we were not able to reach the police department after calling more than 6 hours (311). We did file with the national agency that handles lost and stolen documents. We filed with each of the credit reporting agencies and had a freeze put on all our accounts.
We changed credit cards. My husband obtained a new license at the DMV, reporting his stolen. We knew it was stolen because the person involved called us at 1:00 a.m. and offered to give it back for $50 and if they could come to our house at that time. We tried to call the police rather than meet them ourselves. Nevada Power wants my husband to have a document notarized stating that he is not responsible. My husband is quite ill, is 87 years old and is on Home Health Care. Yet, Nevada Power demands he (leave the house) have a paper notarized? They want us to provide two additional utility bills? How did they get such power? Why has the burden of proof been placed on us when this is clearly Nevada Power's screw up. Surely if they had done a credit check they would have learned there is a credit freeze and any smart person would have looked into why.
We have two phones, both with answer machines, both working as we moved from one house to another. Our phone number had not changed. It was the same one we had since 2006. The email had been the same since 1987. We heard absolutely nothing from Nevada Power until the phone call stating our service was being turned off... in our home where the bill had been paid. I just do not understand how someone can "Transfer" a bill of this magnitude to our account without our approval or knowledge and then we are accountable even though we have no knowledge whatsoever about this bill. How can a "Public agency" commit these kinds of acts against their customers and it be allowed to happen?

I bought a new home in October 2015 from Lennar homes which comes with a Solar Energy installed for $20k, which you have to pay for separately. NV Energy came and installed their Net Meter and SunStreet Solar came and activated it. I was there with the SunStreet guy when he turned on the breaker. My bills from NV Energy came to me very late in May and they were very high. So far from November to June the bill is over $850 and the AC was only turned on beginning of June and since it's been real cold and cool for the other months.
So today I called SunStreet and they told me to go outside and check, and there it was, NV Energy placed a tie on the breaker in the OFF position. When I called them, they denied doing so and stated that they do not come out to take readings but do it in-office. How? So who gets to benefit from this? NV Energy of course -so they can make more $$$ of us. I have seen ladies from NV Energy came and take readings. So I told him then I will put a gate out front since they do not come out to take readings...and the NVE supervisor says that I cannot do that because they have to come out there. I asked for what, since you take the readings in-house, the guy just stated that they need to. NV Energy is just a bunch of crooks that go out of their way to steal from their electric clients. Now after 3 years, they disconnected it and sent me manual instructions to reset it. However, now it says service disabled. When I called in the very rude representative said, "You asked us to disconnect it so now it is your problem, there is nothing I can do." RIDICULOUS monopoly this company has!!!

Our meters are enclosed and cannot be read from the outside gate. However, the meter reader does not show up on the date, imprinted on the monthly statement, he makes up numbers. I have proof. The meter reader did not show up on the day indicated on the statement.
I have invested a lot of money in the solar system and we signed up with the previous system that you bank your energy points during the winter and use them during the summer. Now they give you a credit on the invoice. However the dollar amount they owe you, NV Energy will not deposit back into your bank account. But they will deduct if you owe. So why we changed the point (bank) system to the dollar system? This is a rip off. Every time I call NV Energy you get the runaround with no answers, get disconnected, or put on hold. Last time I was on hold for 45 minutes and then disconnected. I believe NV Energy is the worst company, and even tops the DMV to work with.

Then 2 months after it was installed they changed their position saying people with solar don't pay enough to support the grid and are charged 3x's as much just to be on the grid. That would be like charging Prius owners 3x's as much for gas to support big oil cause they don't use enough gas, or like charging vegetarians a fee for no longer supporting the beef industry. I'm not even going to get into the net metering cause I'll be using all my energy during the and sell back as little as possible @ .20 cents on the dollar. But I will give them credit for buying our governor there getting 10's of 1,000's of dollars back on that investment!

I have been a steady customer for over 10 yrs. Have not seen a pink slip in 5 yrs. When I got behind before, as long as I paid within the month I was not penalized. I was 3-5 days late in the last year 3x (They say, I am only aware of 2). They charged me a $285 "deposit" in response. This was done in the 2 weeks before Christmas, and I was unable to afford this extraordinary charge at that time. Not a problem now, but I think I'll take my money and get some solar panels anyway.
This monopoly of the utilities has made companies like this feel they can do what they want, because just where are you going to get other service? I just wish once someone would do something, because I apparently cannot as a long term customer. And to boot, the 285 dollar amount was generated by all my neighbors' average bill and NOT MY OWN BILL. What the hell is that? If you're gonna charge me, base it on my bills, not my neighbors' who may or may not be efficient in their homes. This whole thing is so over the top I can't believe it's happened. ** the grid!
