We purchased a timeshare package with Hilton Vacation Club in September 2024 after attending multiple high-pressure sales presentations. From the start, representatives made promises that turned out to be false or misleading. We were told our home resort designation (Orlando) was just administrative and that points could be used anywhere — yet the system consistently failed to work as described. After buying in September, we couldn't effectively use our 2024 points and had to pay ~$250 to roll them over. When we tried booking for 2025, the system only allowed bonus points to be used, leaving our rolled-over points stranded. A representative later admitted our 5,600 points every other year wouldn't cover a week-long stay anywhere — directly contradicting what we were sold. His "solution" was to pay an additional $8,000 to switch home resorts.

We attended four presentations, each nearly identical, each pushing us to spend more money to fix problems with a program that never worked as promised. The financial paperwork was rushed through with no meaningful explanation of terms — including annual maintenance fee increases and an involuntary obligation to transfer the membership to our children. We paid off our mortgage within six months to escape a 17% interest rate we consider predatory given our credit history. We have formally requested a full refund and contract cancellation based on the misrepresentations made throughout this process.

Nothing but distaste for the Hilton Grand Vacation Club we were distastefully highly pressured into upgrading into. Three times in 2025 weeks had vacations in vacation club properties. The first one was at Mystic Dunes in Orlando, Florida. Went to our owners' update as scheduled with questions we needed answered. All our questions were answered basically the same way but by different associates who “popped” in to our meeting to see how things were going. Our session was booked with Kat, who we were told by other associates and of course herself that she was one of the best there. We believed what she told (sold) us and upgraded. Basically, we were sold a bill of lies from her with back up from others working with her. They make you feel like it’s a three ring circus you’re sitting in. One a bigger liar than the next.

The next time we sat through a presentation was on August of last year in Las Vegas with Didi. She also kept pushing the Quinn in New York City which is part of the “Hilton Club”. We heard things like the club is the best part of the program to be in, you get treated like royalty when you stay in one of the club properties. You get the idea. Maintenance fee was insane and we weren’t told that we could only stay at club properties as I was told when I tried to make a reservation at another HGVC property.

We tried to unwind this deal on a cruise we were on in December 2025 on Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas. Again we were tag teamed by John and Cam. What was supposed to be a 1 hour owner update turned into yet another session of being lied to during a presentation that lasted 5 hours. These sales people have the tag teaming down to a science. You chat with the rep for a bit then they go in back and bring out some backup with them to validate everything that they have told you.

The final straw is when the “Closer” comes out to back up the first two. The pressure is real and mounting. By this time, we believe no one. Everyone tries to sell something, and we know they’re working on commission, but how would they feel if they were served lie after lie after lie. In fact, before we began our session on the cruise, I peeked at our paperwork that was on the table and it said that they were SUPPOSED to do a high pressure sale. WOW- that is our last owner update that we will ever attend. My time is worth more than a steak dinner or gift card. Now trying to contact someone to ask questions we have, it seems like no one has an answer for anything. We hear “Let me get more info and I’ll get back to you”. You need to treat your customers like you would like to be treated. I have no clue how some of these people sleep at night.

They give me a promotion for $200 for 3 nights stay at Toscany village in Orlando, and after I go through the 2 hour presentation they will reimburse the money plus give me 15,000 points. Well I got there the room was not ready till about 5 PM instead of 4 I requested a room with the view of the lake and they put me in a corner on the 8th floor way from everything. No service for the room in the 4 day stay, had to chase towels from house maids. After the sales pressure was done with the ridiculous price I only got back $100 gift certificate to use it on the Hilton garden. The Jacuzzi was always full of little kids not accompanied by the parents like it was supposed to be, that was signs all over that the place is smoke free, but people at the pool was vape and no employee was saying anything. You're better off going to a hotel room get the treatment you deserve. Someone needs to look and hold this people accountable.

They are a scam! I was not informed about subsequent charges that hit my account and when I called they said the original price I agreed to was just a deposit. I'm currently in the process of disputing this. Stay away!

Hilton Grand Vacations is a scam. I paid and booked a trip to Chicago. It was a total cost of $400. Due to a winter storm on the days I had a reservation, I called to reschedule two days before. They are supposed to let you reschedule due to weather, but they refused and told me to pay an extra $200 to change or cancel the reservation. When I purchased a package there was no information about paying $200 to change a reservation. So obviously I'm not going to pay that. When I asked for a refund they refused. It is impossible to get a hold of anyone besides the customer service 1 800 number. They won't respond to emails they don't have any transparency. You cannot call anyone else.

When I first bought the package they said I would receive an email receipt. I did not receive an email receipt so I called the booking number asking for them to email me it. The first person I talked to told me I didn't need any confirmation which felt like it might be a scam. But I insisted and days later received an email. FYI, Hilton Grand Vacations headquarters is located in Orlando, FL. I contacted the Chicago hotel where my reservation was, but they were unable to help me. Please do not get scammed by purchasing a Hilton Grand Vacations package.

I had a very disappointing experience with Hilton Grand Vacations. About a year ago, while staying at the Hilton Downtown in Chicago, I was approached with what was presented as a special “anniversary deal.” It sounded like a great offer at the time, so I agreed and paid around $400. However, months later, I discovered that this “deal” required attending a kind of timeshare sales presentation—something that was never clearly explained upfront. Had I known from the beginning that this was essentially a timeshare promotion, I would not have agreed to it.

When I realized I wouldn’t be able to take the trip, I contacted customer service to cancel. The interaction was frustrating. The representative seemed clearly unhappy about my cancellation, and when I asked for an email confirmation, they abruptly hung up the phone. Overall, the experience felt misleading and unprofessional. Transparency from the start would have made a huge difference. I would strongly advise others to ask detailed questions before committing to any similar offers.

I am a widow trying to get out of a timeshare that my late husband and I were pressured into buying, and Hilton Grand Vacations has been completely unresponsive. It started with a cold call offering a free Las Vegas stay. The sales meeting was exhausting — loud music, lots of people, snacks everywhere — and after a couple of hours we walked out having opened two new credit cards on the spot and maxed them both out for the down payment. The salesman showed us a large screen with a grid of destinations and promised easy last-minute bookings. That grid? We never found it again once we got home.

We tried for months to book something simple. Nothing was available, or if it was, the listing was full of warnings about ongoing repairs and closed amenities. The only "help" we ever got from Hilton was a Zoom call that turned out to be another upsell — trying to get us to upgrade to a Hawaii property because our Florida condo was apparently prone to storm damage and special assessments. Nobody mentioned any of that during the original sales pitch.

In June 2025 my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He passed away in September. In the nine months we owned this timeshare, we never used it once. I have called Hilton multiple times to ask about canceling or selling. I have only ever been able to leave voicemails. Not a single call back. When I pass away, my family is on the hook for this. I am now done making payments and I want to warn others to not get tied up in their shady dealings. Do not buy a Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare. They will not be there for you when it matters.

My husband and I, both senior citizens, were deceived and coerced into purchasing a Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare during a trip to Honolulu in April 2024. We agreed to attend what was described as a one-hour presentation in exchange for luau tickets. It lasted nearly five hours. We have timestamped photos proving we were still in the room at 1:00 PM and weren't released until nearly 4:00 PM.

Throughout the ordeal, salespeople rotated in and out, using high-pressure tactics and false urgency — claiming Hawaii inventory was nearly gone and we had to buy immediately. We were misled into believing we were purchasing deeded real estate with tax benefits and resort access exclusive to owners. Ongoing maintenance fees and assessments were never disclosed. We repeatedly stated we did not want new debt. Regardless, a manager arranged financing on the spot and opened a Hilton-branded Amex card with a $14,000 limit without clearly explaining the terms. We were never provided with required Federal Truth in Lending disclosures.

In October 2024, a "complimentary owner update" turned into another 2.5-hour high-pressure session in Las Vegas, where a second $20,000 Amex card was opened without our request. We have been unable to effectively use the membership due to extreme difficulty booking at desirable times. The promised benefits are largely illusory. We have formally requested full contract cancellation and a complete refund. Hilton Grand Vacations' sales practices are predatory, and we urge the BBB to investigate.

We Were Lied To — And It Cost Us Everything. We are real estate investors. We know what a legitimate property investment looks like. That's exactly why we trusted Hilton Grand Vacations when they told us this was different from a timeshare — deeded real estate, real equity, a legacy asset we could pass to our children or sell for profit in retirement. The Hilton name meant something to us. We believed them. We shouldn't have.

What followed were years of mortgage payments and ever-climbing maintenance fees. It was a system rigged against us from day one. Availability? Nearly impossible. Those "member update" meetings? Ambush sales presentations. We climbed to Elite status chasing a promise that never existed — because the system is first-come, first-serve regardless. Meanwhile, Hilton rents the same units online to anyone for a fraction of what we're legally obligated to pay. We are being penalized for owning. And the secondary market they swore existed? It doesn't. Our "investment" is worth nothing. Less than nothing — because we can't even give it away. No one wants to inherit this financial trap.

COVID didn't create this problem. It just stripped away any remaining illusion. HGV sold more contracts than they could ever service, built fewer properties than demand required, and left their owners converting hard-earned points into Hilton Honors miles just to salvage something — anything — from the wreckage.

This is the single greatest financial loss of our lives. Not from bad luck. From deliberate misrepresentation. We trusted the Hilton name. That trust was weaponized against us.

I am not going into all the details, just what I know to be a fact. I purchased a traditional timeshare from them on a payment plan. My idea was to pay off the loan. Four months later, I had the money, yet their Deed Financial Services is not paying off the loan with the bank. I have enough experiences with timeshares to know they are truly evil, and Hilton is no exception! Never Buy A Time Share, and forget about the offer of a gift! Stay Away!
