I booked a roundtrip ticket to Myrtle Beach, SC for July 25, 2010. Due to medical reasons, unfortunately, I was not able to take a trip. I provided two documents from 2 different doctors stating I was not able to fly. Then I was told I could not receive a refund, however, I have a year to use the credit.

I'm 2 months shy of the year in which the credit will no longer be valid. I am attempting to use it to no avail! I was informed that the credit has to be used by date of time of booking, not travel date. This is very unjust, unfair, and unethical on their part. Not to mention, nowhere in all the documents and correspondences does it state "at time of booking."

My husband and I made round trip flight reservations from Denver to Fresno. We were on our way to a wedding where my husband was best man. We were to depart from Denver at 6:44 am, change planes in Vegas, and arrive in Fresno at 10:05 am. We received confirmation from Cheap Tickets of this itinerary on January 18 and April 18. However, when we went to print our boarding passes on April 19, we discovered that the first leg of the trip to Vegas was cancelled. We had been rescheduled on a later flight which would cause us to miss our connection.

We called Frontier. They told us that it wasn't their responsibility because they had informed Cheap Tickets. And they said that they couldn't do anything to help us. We now called Cheap Tickets who said a lot of different things. They said that it's not their fault because the airlines didn't inform them. After three hours on the phone with them, they were not able to give us new flights without tripling our cost. For some reason, I was thinking they should just get us on a new flight without us being charged extra. But instead, they want to charge us cancellation fees and then some, totally more than triple the original cost. We ended up cancelling the entire flight. We wanted to keep the return but they told us that was not possible. We then made reservations with another airline to get where we needed to go, but again it cost triple.

The point I am leading up to here is that after talking with Frontier, they did inform Cheap Tickets of schedule change as did United. The representatives I spoke with at Cheap Tickets confirmed that they were informed by Frontier and United. Yet, they never communicated this information with us. I believe that to be irresponsible and really bad business practice. Cheap Tickets said we would get our original $735 back but it could take up to 45 days. I can't talk to anyone besides very polite people in the Philippines. So, I can't get anything but very polite lip service. We should have been communicated with on multiple dates. I could have fixed this but Cheap Tickets will not take responsibility. What do I want out of this? I think they should cover the difference that we had to pay. Instead of paying $735, we had to pay $2248. I think they should cover the difference. Since they were the party that failed to communicate with us, they should at least be responsible for what it cost us to fix their mistake.

My family own a timeshare/condo which we exchanged for a condo in Kauai Hawaii for Spring break 2011. In June of 2010, I bought airline tickets for the four of us RT from Chicago to Honolulu, plus the inter-island flight. I also had a rental car reserved on Kauai and Honolulu. Also, one night hotel room in Honolulu. It was paid for in June, July 2010. In February, I pulled up our information for our flights. I called and emailed them to question one inter-island flight. They said that nothing was available. Then 3 weeks before we were supposed to leave, I received an email that they canceled our flights because "I wasn't happy and requested a change". I inquired about one flight, I even told them not to change anything else. Now, the flights are 2 to 3 times as much, which we can't afford.

My wife and I purchased an airline ticket through Cheapticket.com to travel to Canada on July 30th and return August 4th. The reservation CheapTicket's record locator: # is *********. Unfortunately, due to family emergency, we did not make the flight and Delta Airline told us to contact CheapTicket about a refund or rebooking. We did and several CheapTicket agents told us we can use the existing $964 (ticket cost) as credit for a future reservation as long as it was used before May 10th 2011 and we agreed.

We were told several times there would be a penalty of $150 on each ticket and the difference of $664.00 would go toward our new airline reservation tickets with Delta. We were okay with this as were told by several CheapTicket agents. This was the normal penalty fee. We called CheapTicket two weeks ago and were told they cannot find the booking in their system so we should speak to Delta Airlines. Delta sent us back to CheapTicket. I then insisted on speaking to several supervisors over this time and they pulled our records. They told us all the information related our last reservation but said they cannot rebook the flight because that file was not available. We have been calling CheapTicket everyday for the past two weeks and kept being told by different supervisors that the files for that bulk purchase with Delta is purged but will be reinstated in 48 hours.

We are now told we will have to make a new reservation using our credit card and the price of the ticket would be immediately refunded to the card once the new ticket is issued. The refund would cancel out the tickets from our credit. I ask how long it would take for the ticket to be issued and was told immediately after the new reservation is processed. I called back to make the reservation today and I am now being told there is an additional $50 rebooking fee for each ticket. Our new reservation was to New York and the ticket price was $249 with all fees paid on each ticket (2).

Even with the addition $100 rebooking fee for both tickets, I was ready to set up the reservation because at this point after hours on each call I was ready to get it over with and the $664 credit would definitely cover the cost. I again asked and was told before starting the reservation that all funds would be refunded to my card so I gave my card information. Feeling very uncomfortable with doing this before the reservation was completed, I asked how much exactly my card would be charged and was told $350. I was very surprised by this and ask where this figure came from. I was shocked when I was told this amount would not be refunded on my card.

I was told this was to cover the two $150 ticket penalty and they were waiving one of the $50 rebooking fee. After weeks of being told this would be taken from the existing credit, this supervisor was pulling a fast one on me. Asked why this was so, she told me they have no way of separating the transactions, cost for ticket and airline penalty. I told her to cancel the transaction. This is so frustrating and upsetting. Will I ever be able to get anything back form my $964.00? I need some help!

I booked a flight for 9 seats through an agent from CheapTickets.com on the phone 3/10/2011 with their advertised price of $339.30. I received an e-mail confirmation and a confirmation number. In that e-mail confirmation, it specifically said, and I am copying and pasting the exact line...

"Your flight is confirmed. The airline will assign seats at check-in or you may choose seats. "

On the next morning, I logged into my account with them and clicked on "My Trips" only to get a response that I had none. I called and was told that the reservation was cancelled. I went through chain of command all the way to the manager. They ended up telling me that I would have to write a letter to their customer relations department for any further communication. The bottom line was that they falsely advertised the price and they could not honor it. The language in the e-mail of the flight confirmation should have been enough for them to honor the price they advertised. Please be aware of these practices.

After booking tickets through CheapTickets for our flight to Hawaii in 2010, we found that the same tickets on the same flights at the same time and the same plane had gone on sale for about $100 less than what we had paid. I called them and complained that they advertised that if you purchase from them and it goes on sale you will be issued the difference by check in the mail. The employee on the 800 number said that all she could do was issue a $50.00 voucher for future travel.

I told her that a one-year expiration date would make it meaningless to us. She assured me that it could be extended for one more year if I contacted them before the one year date on it. I even put it in my planner so I couldn't forget it. I contacted then about 1 week before the expiration date and was told, "Sorry, it expires in one year and that was plenty of time to have used it," and that I wouldn't get the extension I had been assured by their employee that I would get. I sent back an angry reply that I thought they should change their name to Cheap Tactics and that I would fill out every online scam report that I could find and tell every one I talk to, to not use their service.

I travel transatlantic very frequently, and book my flights in blocks of two or three trips if I can, in order to economize. Last week, I attempted to book three pairs of transatlantic flights on Cheaptickets.com for $1,555. But my efforts were repeatedly rejected by the website (Sorry - Error - Please try again). So I called the company and they explained that I would not be able to complete this booking because the airline (British Airways) would not allow me to use the same destination/arrival points so many times on one ticket. Instead, I went to Orbitz.com and successfully booked two pairs of transatlantic flights for $964. But I now find that I have been charged the full amount for both bookings, even though I have no trip registered on Cheaptickets (and have received no confirmation email).

I purchased two hotel rooms in November 2010, for the week of March 19, 2011. The CSR at Cheaptickets.com assured that the "Best Price Guarantee" would be in effect for this reservation. On their Web site, the "Guarantee" was attached to the offer and promised that if I found the exact same deal for less, they would give back the difference. Well, I found the same hotel, same dates, same rooms, for $40 a night less on Cheaptickets' Web site in January 2011 and applied for their so-called "Best Price Guarantee."

I was told no, it didn't apply and it had something to do with the hotel's cancellation policy! I really don't think that is my problem, as the offer was promoted with the guarantee. Cripes, the reservation was still two months out! Check their website; they are still promoting this guarantee on hotel reservations where it can't apply! The terms they kept referring to when I complained are not conspicuous by any means. Do not do business with these people; there are enough alternative means out there to get whatever you need.

We arrive to Madrid Barajas International Airport to take our flight with AirEuropa with Cancun Mexico as destination. As soon as we arrived, we headed to the check-in desk and the lady at the moment informed us that the flight was going to be carried by Iberworld which took us by surprise because there was no information about the flight being changed or any partnership with Iberworld and Cheaptickets.com, and AirEuropa never mentioned Iberworld Airline on their websites. Confident that nothing was going to change, we checked our bags and we were ready to pay 60 euros per extra luggage. At least that's what we were thinking, because in Cheaptikets.com and AirEuropa.com websites that's the information given to their customers.

Our surprise was bigger when at Iberworld we were told that the extra 2 bags was going to be charged 10 euros per kilo, making a huge total of 583 euros! Upset with the big amount to pay, we were told that the price in AirEuropa and Cheaptickets.com didn't matter at Iberworld because we didn't book our flights with Iberworld, and they would not honor AirEuropa and Cheaptickets policy. After going back and forward with this ordeal, we ended up paying 500 euros, which is close to $750 US. After literally crying to the Airline manager, Cheaptickets won't pay us our money even after they told us that what AirEuropa and Iberworld did is illegal and does not respect their policy. All what we've been offered is a $100 dollar voucher. Really?!

My wife and I are still in Mexico because these companies won't pay us back our money or at least half of it. I contacted the TSA regarding false documents to enter into Mexico that AirEuropa issued us, because Iberworld insisted that me and my wife need a return ticket to enter into Mexico and to let us board the plane otherwise we wouldn't be flying into Mexico. So they issued a fake ticket. The TSA don't care at all. So my guess is they (TSA, Cheaptickets.com, Iberworld Airline and AirEuropa Airline) support terrorism, because even when I knew we didn't need this false return ticket, they issued me a false return ticket and nobody seemed to care, and if they did this to American and Mexican travelers, how can you know if they are not giving this false tickets to a terrorist and people who really can take advantage of these documents?

Cheaptickets.com, AirEuropa Airline, Iberworld Airline and even the TSA support terrorism. All we want is our money back! Who should I contact about this matter, and of course if anybody cares about the false visas to enter a country that AirEuropa is giving and Iberworld is accepting? Any help will be much appreciated.

My companion and I had been traveling Europe for the past 10 months. And to end our trip before returning to the United States, we decided to see some of Mexico. We booked a ticket using cheaptickets.com for January 15, 2011 from Madrid, Spain to Cancun, Mexico, flying Air Europa. Air Europa has a "1 bag to Cancun" policy, and the bag must weigh no more than 23 kilos/50lb. And the first additional bag at the same weight costs 60 Euros.

I contacted Cheap Tickets to confirm Air Europa's policy, and the agent I contacted said that she contacted Air Europa and that was indeed their policy for this flight--1 free 50-lb bag and 60 Euros for the 1st additional bag at the same weight. My companion and I have 2 bags each. However, when we arrived at the airport, Air Europa was not the carrier who operated the flight. It was Iberworld, and their baggage policy is far different. They have a strict "1 bag only" policy and anything beyond the 1 bag is 10 Euros per kilo. The 2 extra bags that my companion and I had ended up costing 500 Euros which is like $750 (American).

Nowhere on Cheap Tickets webpage or in any of the emails that I received from Cheap Tickets did it mention Iberworld as the operator of the flight and that the policy I had agreed to and had confirmed would not be honored. While attempting to make the staff at Iberworld understand what had happened, they refused to give me any assistance, firmly placing all responsibility on cheaptickets.com. Iberworld claimed paying for the bags on their site online would have negated this problem however, because I didn't book with Iberworld and I booked with Air Europa via Cheap Tickets, I was not able to utilize this service. I even offered to go to their site and do it, before they checked me in. However, they said it was too late and that I had to pay cash only and that Cheap Tickets knew of this policy.

As of right now, we are stranded in Cancun, Mexico, unable to purchase bus tickets to our next destination. And we haven't eaten in 36 hours. Then our room is only good until Tuesday, because that is all we paid for. We could possibly face jail time, because begging/pan handling is illegal in Mexico. I contacted Cheap Tickets, but they have not offered to send a food voucher or pay for the room. They've done nothing, and it is their mistake to not properly vet their partners.

Today, Cheap tickets has the same flight as mine, and it is $408 for the same ticket I booked last week. I have asked them to refund the difference of the ticket, and they will not do it. I booked a flight to Delhi and I was notified that there had been a significant change to our booked flight schedule and I was required to contact CheapTickets ASAP to resolve the issue. I was on hold for about an hour before someone said they had sorted it out. A day later, I received another email stating that my flights had been cancelled and when I called again and again, I was on hold for about an hour. I was told that they had been cancelled because of scheduling changes with the airline but no new flights had been booked. I was then told that I could contact the airline directly to resolve it which I did. I was told that I couldn't deal with them directly and that they often have problems with flights booked through CheapTickets when passengers arrive at the airline and their flights have not been confirmed by CheapTickets and so is unable to fly!

I contacted them again and again and I was on hold for a long long time only to request to speak with a manager who said that she had sorted it and would call me with confirmation within 48 hours. There was no call and no confirmation. I rang again. I asked why it was so hard when I could rebook myself in 5 minutes. The response I got was, 'Would you like us to refund your ticket so you can rebook yourself?' I'm still not sure if the employees in the call center are just incapable of performing their jobs or just so lazy that they never followed through with anything but it was by far the worst experience I have ever had when booking anything! The lesson I learned was that when a company is called Cheap-something, that's what you get, cheap service.

I finally got a refund for the tickets, it took 2 weeks, minus the service fee. I couldn't even be bothered to question what the service fee could possibly have been for I received no service, ever. All up, I think I had to call CheapTickets about 12 times, I was on hold for a total of about 5 or 6 hours and I sent so many emails asking for follow through that I lost count. It is the most stressful and poor customer service I have ever received. And what made it worse was that I kept being thanked for my patience even when threatening legal action! Never book with Cheap Tickets. 'The less you pay, the better you feel' is so far from the truth. It is a joke!

In November 2009, I purchased a plane ticket on cheaptickets.com with my VISA debit card. The weekend immediately following my purchase, I left my debit card in a restaurant. Once I realized I could not get my debit card back, I notified my bank and had the card canceled. The charge for the ticket I purchased showed up as Delta Airlines not cheaptickets.com. I didn't read all the small print.

Being cautious, I notified my bank of a suspected fraudulent charge. My bank gave me a temporary credit equal to the amount charged to Delta Airlines. Through research with my bank, I realized the charge was not fraudulent and the bank withdrew the amount previously credited. Six (6) months later, I received a letter from cheaptickets.com informing me I owed them money for the ticket I disputed.

After many attempts to contact the phone number listed on their letter (I was on hold for 52 minutes during one attempt), I finally went through the ticketing department to reach the dispute department. I spoke with a lovely woman named Dana who told me the information I needed to provide in order to close my disputed account. Dana gave me the fax number and contact name of someone named Dawn to whom I should direct my fax. I sent the requested information immediately. The next day Dawn called me. She was very aggressive telling me, "You need to pay us our money.” I explained what happened with my debit card, etc. Not only did she not listen, but she continued to treat me as if I had stolen money from her.

I collected further documentation from my bank showing that the credit had been returned. Dawn told me on August 30, 2010 that she was satisfied and my account was closed. I asked if she would please send me a letter stating that this matter had been resolved. Today, September 17, 2010, I called Dawn to inquire as to the whereabouts of the letter I requested. After huffing and puffing she located my information. I asked about the letter and she said she could fax it to me. I received a poorly written fax with incorrect information on a computer generated form with no letterhead.

I called her (again) to get the facts straight. She told me my account was closed. I requested a letter/fax stating such. She told me should would "do it but I ain't faxing nothing else.” Once again I received a poorly written statement with no letterhead. Because I am sick and tired of rude, aggressive, improperly trained people, I decided I would not let this slip by. I called Dawn (I actually got her on the first ring) and asked for her superior. She said she would "have to have her call you.” Right! I told Dawn I was filing a complaint about her behavior. She became indignant saying she went out of her way to help me. Seriously? I will follow through with my complaint and I will not return as a customer to cheaptickets.com.

My daughter and I traveled to San Francisco on July 16. We were supposed to have left the morning of the 15th. First, original flight was Delta Flight No. **** departing at 6:35 a.m. My daughter purchased our tickets on ****. She has had an account with them for approximately 10 years. She recently got married a year ago and at that time, she did not change her name on her account with ****. But her billing was under her married name. Therefore all her identification was in her married name but take in account her driver's license had her picture on it like all do. We checked in at the airport the morning of the 15th and Natalie printed our boarding passes and they were printed in her maiden name which they should have been printed in her married name since the billing information was in her married name. So when we were to board the plane, her identification she had on her possession was in her married name. Natalie left her Social Security card home because she was aware you should not travel with that. So they did not let us on the plane. So when Natalie went to the desk, no Delta person would help us.

Natalie could have easily called **** at the desk with the help of a Delta person and they could have made the change right then and printed out new boarding passes. This would have taken 5 minutes. Also, they would have seen that both names were on the reservation. But they would not take 5 minutes to do that for us. So therefore, we had to come home and purchase new tickets $1,200.00 and leave the following morning. If I do not receive any kind of compensation for this, I will never fly Delta again and neither will my family and friends. This was a situation that could have been so easily remedied but no one would help us. Her driver's license had her picture on it and that should have been enough. This was a costly trip for us and it could have been avoided. Thank you in advance for your consideration in this matter. I am planning on writing the editor in our local paper as well.

I tried to purchase a round trip ticket for my son to go to St Louis in June. When I did not receive a confirmation from Cheap Tickets, I had my oldest son purchase the ticket on his credit card. Cheap Tickets charged my credit card for this ticket. I found this out when the airlines called to say that I had 2 bookings for the same trip. At that time, I was informed from cheap tickets I would need to cancel the flight but would not receive a refund, only a credit towards a future trip.

In March of this year, I purchased another ticket for my son to go to camp. I received the confirmation with his ticket information and seat confirmation. I arrived at the airport this morning and was told that cheap tickets had canceled the ticket. I never received any information in regards to this or any cancellation. It has cost me over $1,000.00 dollars to purchase a new ticket for my son and for the charges on my credit card for a ticket I never received a confirmation on.

Cheap Tickets will not give a refund only a credit towards a future trip, but in doing this I will be charged transfer fees etc. and will not receive the full amount spent on original tickets. Cheap Tickets is penalizing me for mistakes that were made on their side of these purchases. I have not added all the fees together but, it has cost me an additional $320 today for a one way ticket where my son has to change planes and I am waiting to purchase the other one way ticket for his return flight. Also, I am waiting to hear from the camp as to what the additional fees will be because they will have to make a separate trip to the airport to pick up my son. This has been so stressful having my son fly alone on a direct flight is one thing, but the stress of having him have to change planes alone is overwhelming. If I would have known the amount of consumer complaints against this company and the parent company Orbitz, I would have never used them.

Cheaptickets was rude during this whole process and their only line of defense was the their legal has their back and there is nothing I can do as a single consumer.

Cheapticket.Com customer service sucks and they add no value to airline booking. They shouod not be in business if they are out to screw consumer like myself. Please beware, Cheaptickets takes your money but take no responsibility for booking your tickets.

Cheaptickets.com was recommended to me to get a better rate on a hotel room. I made reservations through cheaptickets.com and got a very good rate for a hotel room that they had rated as a two or three star hotel. This hotel was 1/2 a star hotel at best. The door to the room was standing wide open when we arrived, the room had a very bad odor and it was filthy. The mirrors were extremely dusty, there was a dead baby roach made up in the bed, the bathtub was filthy and there was a hole in the bathroom wall and door. Someone had shoved a wad of toilet paper in the hole in the door. The microwave had a horrible odor inside. The smell in the room was so bad; it gave all three of us headaches and made some of us sick to our stomach. The carpet was sticky and the smoke detector had been covered up with a plastic bag. I complained through the manager at the hotel. He was very nice and apologetic.

I called Cheaptickets. They contacted the manager and said the manager agreed to a refund, which I already knew he would because I had talked to him. I was first told they would credit the money back to my account and then the first person I talked to said they could apply to another hotel. She transferred me to the department that was supposed to be able to do that for me. The person I talked to in this department said they couldn't do this; they had to credit it back to my account. I told them I wanted a room in a true three star hotel at the same rate or they would need to pay the difference. She told me they couldn't do that. It was not their fault if the hotel had been misrepresented; they only advertised what the hotel provided.

She didn't know if they had someone that actually verified the information the hotel provided or not. Although, it was their website, she would not accept any fault or responsibility. She said she was going to call the hotel manager and see if he would agree to pay a difference, if any, to put us up in a different hotel. I was on hold for about 15 to 20 minutes or so, maybe more maybe a little less. I was so mad I didn't think to check the clock. However, while she had me on hold, the manager came to my room carrying his cordless phone. I asked him if they had contacted him about paying the difference and he said no. He did offer to call around to see if he could find a hotel that would honor the rate we had paid.

He came back just a few minutes later, said they still had not contacted him but he had found a hotel that would honor the same rate. Just a minute or so after he left my room, the representative from Cheaptickets got back on the phone and said the hotel manager refused to pay any difference and so did her supervisor. When I started questioning her about what the hotel manager said, she hung up. This is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. They said it would be 3 to 5 business days before I would see my refund reflected on my account. We will see on Friday (4/2/10) if they even did this. After reading some of the other reviews about them I am not holding my breath. I wish I had known about the other reviews on this website about cheaptickets before I used them. I will never use them again nor will I recommend them to anyone.

I booked a flight with CheapTickets.com, and the funds were immediately debited from my account. The flight for 2/12 was consequently cancelled by the airline, due to weather issues. I was told by the Cheap Ticket rep that my account would be refunded in 10-15 business days. It's now been a month. I've made 3 phone calls regarding the refund. Cheap Tickets puts me on hold for long periods of time, to "contact the airline" concerning the refund that has yet to materialize! Hello! Why is it that they will immediately debit the money from your account, but don't immediately return it, when the flight is cancelled, through no fault of yours? Hassles like this are what drive the consumers to distrust businesses in today's society. If you say something, stand by it! $242.30 was debited from my account immediately when the ticket was purchased, and has yet to be refunded!

I tried using the credit and was only allowed to use the same exact ticket that I had reserved before. I was not told this the first time I changed the ticket which was literally within 5 minutes of making the reservation online. I was only told it was a credit and now I am going to have to use or lose $500 to go to Mexico again within the next six months. We called the number on the website and they insisted on our confirmation number. We received a blank email from them with no information. We tried to explain that we were stuck in Ft. Meyers and we needed to get home for work the next day. The first person told us to please hold and they would send us to the supervisor. We got travelocity.com.

This went on for 5 more phone calls. We were given an adult 888 number several times. I recorded the conversations while I was on the phone. We tried to book flights directly through the airlines, but they were booked until that Thursday due to storms out east. We had to pay an additional 510 bucks to get home. There is apparently no customer service number for airline travel, only hotels and car rentals. They do not speak clear English and lie to you every time you call. I called customer services reps for CheapTickets and was told that I was only getting reimbursement for the one ticket and that I will not get any credit for a future flight or reimbursement for the non-insured ticket. It was due to the storm that the flight was cancelled, so why am I being punished for an act of nature, and no fault of mine? I used CheapTickets because I couldn't afford to pay regular prices and was trying to save money, but I ended up losing money in the end. This frequent traveler will never use Cheap Tickets again. I recently purchased tickets from San Francisco to Fiji, for a vacation. As most know, we cross over the international date line right before Fiji, which adds a full day to the date at the destination. Cheap Tickets' itinerary did not reflect this date change.

I consider this to be as basic as it gets for the travel industry. According to the itinerary, I was supposed to land on Tuesday and then, 7 hours later, fly on to Vanuatu on a smaller, local airline. There's only one way to get to Vanuatu and the flights are only on Tuesdays and Saturdays. I had reservations for a very nice apartment on Vanuatu starting Tuesday, for 7 nights. As we were taxiing to the gate in Fiji, the flight attendant, of course, announced that it was Wednesday. I had completely missed my plane the day before due to this huge error on the itinerary and lost $700 in the apartment reservation, due the lodge's cancellation policy.

In the end, I could have accepted this mistake but when I called CT, they took zero responsibility for this error. Several of the customer service agents didn't even know about the international date line so were unable to understand where the problem was or what error had been made. I had to call several times and escalate several times. I encountered plenty of excuses, can't do attitudes, brick walls. I was told over and over that there was nothing they could do for me. After several hours of aggravation on the phone, the best I had been offered was an insulting $45 "goodwill" gesture. The company has absolutely no process in place for complaints, customer service is very circular and the training of the agents is atrocious.

I eventually got a refund of my $700 but I had to fight tooth-and-nail to get it and no valued customer should ever be treated this way, after losing a large sum of money due to someone else's mistake. I have sent a 14-page letter to Mr. Barney Harford, President of CT. We'll see if there's any response at all.

There's no way I would have gone through the whole booking process online looking at Jan. 22. I don't even recall seeing a web history of Jan. 22 return flight. Then I discovered other people had similar problems online and it wasn't just me.

I spoke to customer service, mailed my original tickets back with a letter as told and never got a return call like they said. I called them back and they could not do anything to change my tickets because of no availabilities at that point. They even wanted to change my original departure ticket which had nothing wrong, but it's just an excuse to jack up costs. Now, I really believe they screwed up my return flight date to make money on fees and higher ticket costs.

This occured October 31, 2009 - all within about 1 hour. We booked a trip. The arrangments were not what was promised. Specifically before booking we asked if they could make seat selection on American Airlines. The representative said she could and that it would be handled as soon as we made all the other arrangments. The seat selction issue is an important prioity because my wife has a lingering injury. That is why the question was posed up front. At the conclusion of the transaction we asked to make the seat selection and then after a pause she said she could not make the seat selection on American Airlines, but "no problem" - "call American Airlines" and arrange the seat selection. So we did. American Airlines informed us that Cheapickets had to arrange the seat selection, or we could pay $15 per seat per flight and they American Airlines could arrange it. That was $60 (2 flights each way 2 people) on top of the $1201.67 "cheapticket". So much for cheap tickets. Now we called Cheaptickets back still trying to resolve the seat selection issue. Alex, supposedly a supervisor, refused to do the seat selection or otherwise resolve the problem. After some discussion Alex agreed to cancel the reservations and credit our account but "it will take 5 days to issue the credit." Note they make the charge instantly but hold off the credit for 5 days. That ties up one's credit card balance. Also, Alex agreed to send a confirmation of the cancellation - no cancellation confirmation has been received. Right now, November 1, 2009, we still have an itinerary, the credit card company has a charge to our account and no credit. Cheaptickets.com did not do what they said they would do initially. They mislead us initially, and they have not send the email to confirm the cancellation of charges. We have no way of knowing if a credit will be forthcoming.

I booked a flight from Berlin to Guadalajara, Mexico with cheaptickets.de in March for a flight on 31 August since I read where airfares were going up. By late August it was clear that I would not be able to leave by 31 August, so on 25 August I sent them an e-mail telling them I would be unable to go and inquiring about another flight. Several e-mails followed, but I never rebooked since I was and still am uncertain when I can go.
On 4 October I sent an e-mail to them stating I wanted to cancel the ticket and obtain a refund. I then received a very nasty e-mail stating that I was not entitled to a refund because I was a "no show." I responded with an e-mail that pointed out that I sent them an e-mail telling them I was unable to go on 25 August, 6 days before the flight, and forwarded my 25 August e-mail separately. I then received another e-mail from them stating that they might be able to refund the tax paid. This made me suspicious so I called Iberia and found that the ticket was cancelled and a refund was made to cheaptickets.de. Subsequently I sent another very strongly worded e-mail to cheaptickets.de stating that Iberia said the ticket was cancelled and a refund was issued to them on 4 September and if they failed to make the refund, I would file a complaint with the Amtsgericht (the German equivalent to the district attorney). Cheaptickets.de responded by stating that they had refunded the tax minus a 50 Euro service charge and sent this amount of 113 Euros to my bank. I then contacted Iberia to learn exactly how much was refunded and am waiting for a response before proceeding further. With the service charge of 50 Euros deducted this would make the tax 163 Euros. However, I suspect that they have not actually refunded the entire amount of the tax either since I found another flight on their website with a lower total price than what I originally paid and it shows that the tax on that flight is 189 Euros. I will proceed further after I hear from Iberia. However, at this time it is clear that they attempted to defraud me by refusing to refund anything and even claimed I was not entitled to rebook until I threatened to complain to the Amtsgericht (DA). It should be noted that their website says that tickets on scheduled airlines are refundable, but can often take up to 6-8 months. This is one of the things that made me suspicious initially. This was confirmed when Iberia said the refund was issued on 4 September, just 5 days after the scheduled flight for which I had a tickt.

When we called to have this issue taken care of, they said that it was our fault and that we had to pay an extra $460.00 or they would refund us $40 and we would lose the rest of our money. Our trip started out costing around $510. So we paid the extra money because they said they would have their tech support research the issue and if they find that the error was theirs we would receive a refund. So they sent us the new itinuary and to our surprise it again had the sept. dates and not Dec. We then had to make another phone call to and finally get the dates correct. We also paid $30 for transpotation in vegas to and from the airport When we called to let them know that they booked the wrong dates, we asked if we would still have transportation to and from the airport, they said that they didnt offer that. We asked why did we then pay for it, the agent didnt have an answer for that. When we made our second phone call we were told that we were refuned the $30 charge. when we received the correct itinuary the $30 fee was on it saying we paid for ground transportation. I have never had so much trouble booking a trip. I will never use cheaptickets again. I reccomend to everyone to advise family and friends to book their vacations with another company.

Originally I was told that there was no obligation and that if I wanted to cancel I could do so within 30 days of receiving my membership package and that I could maintain my complimentary tickets. When I received my package I called to cancel. I was told that I had to return my membership package with a written letter stating that I no longer wanted my membership and to please refund my money of $59.99. The letter was typed and sent on July 17, 2009, less than a month from receiving my package. In about a week I called cheap trips back to confirm the receipt of my letter at which time they confirmed and then proceeded to tell me that my refund would take 60 days. I was furious and in shock that a refund would take so long. I said fine and waited patiently. For the time being I had forgotten about the money. On September 2 I remembered that I was supposed to get my refund but wasn't sure how far long in the process it was. So I called and I was told that I would get my refund in 10-14 business days, which would be today. I again checked my account online and saw that there was still no refund applied. I just called a few minutes ago where I spoke to a woman who told me that for some reason the refund was not processed and that it was either a case with their system or a case with my bank. She said she would reprocess it and I would have to wait another 7 business days. I have finally had it. Three months for a refund of 59.95 is insane. I asked for a supervisor and apparently no one was available and she said she would give my name and number to a supervisor to call me back. I told her I did not want a call back and that I wanted a supervisor on the phone and she insisted that no one was available to talk with me over this matter. I told her to tell any supervisor that I was going to contact consumer affairs unless someone got on the phone with me to resolve this issue immediately. I figured that it was just a misunderstanding and contacted Cheaptickets.com. I waited a long time until a representative answered and basically told me that I had booked the wrong day and there was nothing he could do except to change our tickets and charge $580.00 a piece ($1,160), plus a $75.00 charge a piece as a service fee to make the changes. The other option was to contact AirTran, but they referred us back to Cheaptickets.com and did not offer any option without charging us almost double of what we had already paid.

We want to be aware that Cheaptickets.com did change the dates in our case, hoping, in my opinion, that we will pay out of desperation outrageous fees to travel on the original dates. Moral of the story: if it looks to good to be real, it is. Cheaptickets were close to be the most expensive tickets that I have ever paid for traveling East-West in the United States. We had to travel one day earlier than planned, so instead of a family member taking us to the airport we had to leave the car in one of the parking lots near the airport. My wife could not attend the school on the 29th as planned and my sister-in-law had to request an extra day off to pick us up in San Diego. The worst part they knew that we were used and they didn't offer any solution without us paying a heavy penalty for something that we know we didn't do.

Apparently I didn't happen to notice to uncheck the radio button that said I wanted to purchase travel insurance when I bought the tickets for my daughters. Cheap Tickets has this set to default of yes. When I got my credit card statement, I was stunned to see a charge of $42.18 for travel insurance through a company called American Insurance.

Here we were, already back from the trip and I hadn't known I had trip insurance. I called American Insurance and they told me I would have had to cancel ten days from the date of purchase but that it had to be before the flight. They said I should have received an e-mail but I never got it. Later, I did find an e-mail that I had not read but I get tons of junk e-mail. I went online and did a google search and found I wasn't the only person to have experienced this. What's bad is Visa will not reverse the charge because American Insurance sent them what they call proof that I purchased the insurance, but they don't even show anything selected for the insurance. They included a copy of a general e-mail that they would send.

I am sure this is happening all the time to people. If they read the e-mail then they may be able to cancel it but if they miss it or it goes to spam, then they are simply tough out of luck. The insurance company is making a killing and I'm sure Cheap Tickets gets a commission. I will never go through Cheap Tickets again. People need to be warned.

I need your assistance in obtaining a refund.

On Saturday 06/13/09 at 9:00 AM CST, I was attempting to book a flight from Chicago to Paris through Cheaptickets at a time when your website would not work. After placing the dates and credit card information, the website would hang and would not provide a confirmation number. I attempted twice to place the order. I did it a first time and waited that the website would switch to the following page, providing the confirmation number and then charging my credit card. As it would not move, I got out of the website and did it a second time. Again, the website would just hang. This time, I waited longer - maybe 15 minutes and nothing happened. So I decided all together not to go through the Cheaptickets website. I placed then the order through Air Canada that provided rapidly a confirmation number and charged my credit card.

In the meantime, we got a call from our credit card indicating that there were multiple charges on the card. Of course, I became very concerned as I realized that Cheaptickets was charging my card without any confirmation or approval. I searched for an 800 customer service number on the Cheaptickets website and there was none that was available. So I sent a chat notice and spoke with Misty between 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Misty stated that there was nothing to be concerned about as the charges were only pending and it was only a routine check before confirming any booking. Since we did not get any confirmation, the pending charges would fall off their own. I did not get concerned then, since in my understanding of things and not getting any confirmation, I would not be charged.

A few days later, on 06/19/09, I went to check my emails. To my surprise, I saw that there were a couple of emails from Cheaptickets dating from 06/13/09 (same time the website was not working) indicating that they had booked the same flight twice and charged my card twice. Then, on 06/15/09, I get an email stating that if I did not get back to them by the next day of purchase, which is 06/14/09, to cancel the purchases, the charges would remain. In the email, they had provided an 800 number.

On 06/19/09, I called the 800 number and talked with supervisor named Hailey. I explained the situation to the supervisor about the technical difficulties I had encountered with the website. The supervisor called Air Canada who agreed to refund the first booking completely (including the cancellation fee) and the second booking minus the cancellation fee: $684.00. The supervisor stated that she would escalate the issue and would open a technical investigation to verify the workings of the website on Saturday, 06/13/09, and depending on the results of the investigation, they would see if they would refund me the cancellation fee.

First, your website did not ask me to confirm if the information I was entering was correct. Second, the website did not ask me if it was okay to charge my credit card. It went ahead without my approval. Third, your website did not prompt me to check my email. There was no warning or notification from the website. Therefore, I was not required to go right away to check my emails. The error that you made is that your system was way too quick to charge my credit card without my approval.

When I realized on Saturday morning that my credit card was being charged multiple times, I looked in your website for an 800 number and could not find anything. I was trying to get in contact with your staff rather rapidly. The only recourse that I had was the chat system that I used promptly. Sending me a prompt email about charging me and stating that the charge would remain if I did not call within 24 hours when the website was not working and when I did not agree to any purchase is, in no way, grounds to charge me.

Cheaptickets should have called me on Saturday morning like the credit card company did to explain the seriousness of the duplicate charges and asking me if I agreed with it. They did not. They chose instead a passive means like emailing. Not everyone remains at a computer. Again, I let it go because of the conversation I had through the chat with the Cheaptickets agent.

The errors made by Cheaptickets that need to be remedied are:

    1) You charged my credit card without my purchasing anything from you and without my approval. I did not book the flight. I did not get any confirmation number. There was nothing for me to cancel. There was no booking and no purchase on my part. Your system was quick to do it without my consent. Therefore, the cancellation fee was taken away from me without my consent. It was stolen from me. I need it back.

    2) Not giving me my money back because I did not check my emails by a certain date is totally unfounded and preposterous. You take my money without my consent. You charge me in my back without confirming anything. Then, you ask me to figure out that you are charging me right on the spot, while your website is not even working. You ask me to tell you to revoke the purchase and charge that I never placed in the first place and that I was not even aware of. You cannot require from me to check my emails because of your errors, therefore, asking me to take responsibility for your errors and correcting them. You are completely at fault, not I.

I spoke with manager Jan (ID# **) who refused to listen to my claim of being charged without my consent and who refused to provide the requested cancellation fee refund. The only response she was able to provide is that: "There was not a problem with the website as I closed the website before it provided me the confirmation number."

I believed that her response showed lack of integrity. How long was I supposed to wait? 15 or 30 minutes or 1 hour? Working websites don't spend that kind of time providing confirmation. Besides, I did wait and nothing happened. Also, I explained that websites that register orders always ask if the billing information is correct. These types of website have security pages that always review the customer's profile and billing information, that always ask if the entered information is correct and then ask if the customer agrees to have their credit cards charged. Then, when all is consented, customers obtain a confirmation number and a notification that an email is being sent. In the instance of Saturday morning, 06/13/09, nothing of the like happened and I was being charged in my back without my consent and without any warning in the website.

I would like to mention that I have already contacted a law firm ready to move in and take legal action against your company. I won't have to pay much as I have already a payment plan with them. I have also looked at several consumer advocate website and I am ready to describe to them my experience with your company. I really hope you can help out. Thank you for your time and attention.

I used Cheaptickets.com for a flight to France this summer and had to delay it because of a change in travel plans. Cheaptickets told me that since the ticket was nonrefundable, I could use the credit (minus fees) within 12 months of the original travel date. So I re-booked a new ticket with Cheaptickets, which it turns out, charged me the full price of the new ticket and would not apply my credit because, they said, I had to make the booking over the phone to a customer service representative. Since it is virtually impossible to find a phone number or speak to a customer service representative, I performed the re-booking online. Now, I have a $1,200 ticket to Paris and $1,064 of credit that Cheaptickets will not let me apply for the new ticket. I doubt I will ever use it because of the awful customer service and ** rules by Cheaptickets.

I went online on 7/3/09 to purchase our air flight tickets and I had purchased the ones that had only 6 tickets left on Cheaptickets.com. I had clicked on to where we (Joliet **) would leave from Charlotte, NC at 6:15pm and arrive in NY (LGA) at 8:17 July 17th and we will leave NY (LGA) at 9:40pm and arrive in Charlotte, NC at 11:31pm July 19th. When I received the confirmation, it had us returning the same day July 17 with the same time as for July 19th. I had mentioned that to the rep (Molly) and she checked into it having me on hold for approximately 10-15 minutes and then had me to speak to her supervisor (Ian). He could only honor the date for the July 17th but advised that I would need to go back on the site and find a returning flight which is much higher than the flight we had purchased.

The customer service was horrible and the supervisor had tried to make me feel that because I did not call in to the office a certain time, I was unable to get the flight. But due to the holiday, I was not able to contact them especially thinking that what I had clicked on to on the site should reflect the confirmation I would receive via email. Then supervisor informed me that I will not get the funds transferred into my account until after 21 days which is inconvenient due to our trip being next week.

I called them back 10 minutes later and canceled the order and was assured it would not be sent through my account. I then called my bank to inform them about what I did and they noted it and red flagged my account on this. Cheaptrips did put it through my account on 6/11/09. This incident caused two bounced checks totaling $119.90, plus two NSF charges totaling $56.00. The bank gave back the NSF charges. But cheaptrips hasn't refunded money back yet.

But I also let them know I was not working and received my money from my husband and was not sure if it would need to be the following week or now. I was reassured this could be changed over the phone.

I called and spoke with a female (Takesha, I believe). She took my information, credit card number and told me this amount would not be taken out of my account until the following Friday as I requested as it would bounce my account. I was visiting family up north and to my surprise, I bounced my account because Cheaptickets did not hold the amount as they agreed. I called numerous times and was told it was my fault.

I cancelled this contracted with everyone I could speak to, calling as many times as I could until I returned home in January 2009. I called again and was told to return everything including the 2 free tickets and the $100 gas card. As of today 06/01/2009, I still have not received my refund of $109.98 and the $25 fee for the overcharge on my account. I call every week and am told my refund is in processing. I am giving a date that the money will be back in my account for it not to be. However, my itinerary was changed a month after my booking, without my knowledge or consent, to Newark-HEATHROW; Gatwick-Africa. I would have to transit from one airport to another with the new layover time, I would not be able to make the commute.
Worse, I received absolutely no information on this change, I had checked my online flight status a few days before the flight (paranoid I guess) to make sure I still had a confirmed flight, only to find out I had an impossible itinerary. With this change, I would have to, in two hours, get my luggage, pass through UK Customs( for that I need a transit visa, which I do not have!), travel from Heathrow to Gatwick (which takes up to 3 hours or more)and somehow miraculously check-in my luggage an hour before the flight leaves. I am insisting on a ticket to Africa, which would not cause me any suchinconvenience, but I am also willing to take legal action against them if necessary, or if this ticket is not obtained.

In July of this year I booked a flight/hotel/car reservation to Mexico with CheapTickets on the internet. I paid for it in full at time of purchase. Everything seemed fine. When I arrived in Mexico and got to the Hertz counter they informed me that the car reservation had been made by CheapTickets but NOT paid for. I had the receipt from CheapTickets showing paid but they would not accept that. With no phone numbers on any of the paperwork from CheapTickets I paid for the car so I could go on my way. Upon returning I called CheapTickets to get a credit for the car. I talked to Meredith, faxed her my invoice from Hertz, and she advised me it would take sixty days to credit. Rather ridiculous I thought but I waited my sixty days and still no credit.

On 10/16 I called again and talked to Sam (female), explained everything again. She saw the information in the computer but needed to verify and put me on hold for two minutes. After 15 minutes I was hung up on. I called back and talked to Blair and was very angry and bitter and read her the riot act. After dealing with her for 27 minutes, mostly on hold, she told me that I'd be credited within 1-7 days. We'll see if that comes true. Never again will I use this company. So far I'm still out the rental car amount approx. $140 - not a huge deal. For me it's more the principle and how I have been dealt with.

I used CheapTickets to make a hotel reservation in Virginia. Like all on line reservations, I had to provide my credit card. I made the reservation on 6/30/08 for a one night stay on 7/11/08. I booked two rooms. The hotel was great. When I checked out of the hotel, I paid cash so that I could pay for my vacation as I went. When I received my credit card bill in August, I found that CheapTickets had billed my credit card on the date that I reserved the room, two weeks before I arrived.

I'm still working with the credit card company to have the charge removed from my account. CheapTickets has done nothing to solve the problem. On 9/15/08 Liselle at CheapTickets explained that charging a persons credit card when the reservation is made is customary! I've never had a charge to my account in this manner before. I asked to hear the tape and told the only way I could hear it was if I sued them.

When I finally got a supervisor she told me I started the call by saying April 25th and the confirmation by their agent said the 24th at the end of the call. I was also told by the supervisor before she listend to the tape that if I indeed did say April 25th she would honor that date. When she did not do that Iasked her to check the tape for that information, she refused. After 2 hours she told me it was both of our faults and I should buy 1 way ticket on the same flight and they would refund have of the money for the oneway ticket.

I bougth a round trip to Las vegas from Mexico City, Continental issued the tickets because the flight from Mexico to Las Vegas was with them, but United was the carrier for the return flights. I needed to do a stop over L.A. because I was waiting to hear from a School there if I got in and if so Schedule a meeting with them, and in that case I would pay fro the changes in my flight and stay for a few days in L.A., as it turns out I was accepted so i needed the change. When I contacted cheaptickets.com they where lousy at they're job and couldn't help me, so I contacted Continental Airlines directly, since they where the ones who issued the tickets and I made the schedule changes to the ticket and PAID $150 for the changes, as I knew I would have to do. And the changes where like this, form my return I would fly on a Tuesday from Las Vegas to L.A. and stay there for a week and then come back to Mexico the next Tuesday.

But life would be sweet if that where all, United canceled flights and rerouted me and the changes they made are as follows, on the Tuesday I am supposed to leave Las Vegas they booked me to San Francisco and on that same day they booked me back to Mexico, ignoring that I had already paid for the changes. I contacted cheaptickets.com and the lady there couldn't care less, first they kept me a long time o the phone and at the end they told me that the Airline would have to charge me to get my schedule back,

I felt frustrated, I had already paid for the changes and the lady at cheaptickets.com was very clear that they wouldn't help me, so I decided to contact the agency again and in 10 minutes they fixed the problem and didn't charge me at all. This means that cheaptickets.com didn't want to help me and that the service they offer is lousy and they don't care about customer service. 2 friends of mine booked the same tickets with Orbitz and the lady helped them immediately and with no charges.

Constant calls from Mexico City to cheaptickets.com customer service and they didn't help me at all. In Mexico City everything is far away, its a big city, I had to go all the way across the city to Continental and wait in line for another hour till they helped me. I ended taking almost all day off from work just to fix this, my boss is pretty mad at me

My son booked a ticket on Cheaptickets.com from New Orleans to the Little Caymans. He got an email with a confirmation #. He left the next morning early from his house en route to New Orleans. His friend called to ask him what the flight time was. He gave his friend his email info to look it up. His friend then informed him it didn't look like he had a ticket. My son immediately called me. I went to his email and followed the link to cheap tickets itinerary in the email. As I was looking at the itinerary all of a sudden this trip has been canceled came up. I went into a panic. I thought I had canceled his trip accidentally.

I called cheaptickets.com immediately. I told this guy- Randy- what happen and he tried to keep me calm and look into it. He was very nice- I thought. He found out what happen. I did not do anything to cancel the flight, American Airlines canceled the flight- which was to leave in 4 hours. He assured me I would get my money back. He even said what can I do so you will continue to use Cheap Tickets. I told him- My son is driving to New Orleans- I need a ticket. He then told me some information to write down about the trip and transferred me to someone who was suppose to book the flight and wave fees since it was their cancellation, not mine. I asked for his name in case I got disconnected. He told me Randy.

The next guy was not as helpful as I thought he was going to be. Said he could not make sure I was credited back the money- before I could say again--- wait I want the ticket for today- he transferred me to customer service who after I told the story to said yes, I would be credited the money, but he could not book me a ticket. He transferred me and --- dial tone--- I was disconnected. I immediately called back- went thru the who scenario -- This guy told me that I had canceled the flight and there was nothing he could do. I panicked- I said wait, NO, please look. That would mean I was out over $750.00. I did not cancel the flight. Ya'll and American Airlines did. He then said- Calm down, I will get you the cheapest ticket I can find. I told him I need to know what the truth is--- I see on my bank statement where a charge was pending.... but not stopped. He then told me it may take up to 60 days- 2 billing cycles to credit it back. And that I needed to hurry up and book another ticket because the rates were going up. I told him why should I book another ticket when it won't be guaranteed - I'll be charged and still not know until tomorrow am.

I told him I needed to talk to customer service. He then kept reassuring me and telling me I better get a ticket before they got up in price. I just told him never mind and hung up. I called and got a lady. Explained everything- AGAIN. She acted just like the 2nd guy. I asked to speak to Randy. She said I can help you. I told her she has not verified that American Airlines canceled- NOT me. And, how am I to be sure that the flight tomorrow will be okay? Should I tell my son to go to New Orleans and wait or go back home? I cannot afford a $1,400 bill waiting for ya'll to credit me back.

I understand the flights are being changed, but if they have you phone #, email, etc. and it is the morning the flight is leaving- you would think they would call you. I have used Orbitz a few times with no problems. A friend recommended Cheap Tickets--- I am going to tell everyone not to use them. Took off of work, drove total time about 5 hours- 1 hour going slow waiting to see which way to turn- home or continue to New Orleans Airport. Got disgusted and just canceled the trip.

    3. I have called cheaptickets three times on 22nd, every agent listens to the story, when I ask for the refund, the line is being dropped.

I need help to recover my money.

I bought a package from the Bay Area (San Francisco area) to Las Vegas for my wife's best friend's bachelorette party (including roundtrip airfare and hotel for my wife and her friend during the Memorial Day Weekend). The departure flight involved Aloha Airlines and the return was with United. When Aloha Airlines went bankrupt, we instantly contacted Cheap tickets to ask if it would affect the vacation, if we needed replacement flight etc. The staff at Cheaptickets could not answer and recommended us to do nothing.

Approximately 1-2 weeks before departure Cheaptickets contacted us to inform us that the Aloha ticket was canceled. I called Cheaptickets and asked for options, hoping that the bacholertte party would still be able to proceed as planned. The sales person, George, suggested I got a single ticket from the Bay Area to Las Vegas to replace the canceled flight. I asked him 3-4 times during the conversation whether he could ensure that the return flight with United would still work out. I said that my wife would be very upset if they got stranded in Las Vegas. He ensured me the trip would now work out as planned.

At the last night in Las Vegas, my wife and her friend tried to print out their boarding passes for United but found out that the tickets for their flight at 6 am were canceled. Panic ensued and they called Cheaptickets around midnight to inform them about their predicament. The Cheaptickets staff just confirmed that the return flight was canceled without providing any further assistance.

After a lot of hurdles, it was possible to find an alternative ticket for them home (without assistance from Cheaptickets). I contacted Cheaptickets and demanded an explanation and spoke to Brandon, a supervisor. He claimed they had a recorded phone conversation with my wife's friend, where they informed her ahead of time that the trip was canceled. He offered me a $100 voucher as compensation because they HAD noticed us ahead of time that the return flight was canceled.

I accepted the offer, thinking that my wife's friend had missed to inform me about this phone conversation. However, when I spoke to her, and we looked at the date for the phone call, it turned out that Brandon referred to the panic call at midnight, 6 hours before the canceled flight should had departed. I contacted Cheaptickets again, spoke to supervisor Marcello, arguing that the 6 hours notice (done during a phone call initiated by us) hardly can be seen as a timely warning. He promised to look into the matter.

When three weeks had passed I called Cheaptickets again. I spoke to supervisor Eric. He again referred to that they had warned us that the return flight was canceled (the panic phone call at midnight) and that because I accepted the $100 voucher (sent to me by e-mail and never used) the issue was settled. He was even rude enough to say Well, you did use the hotel room, didn't you? Through my bank I have disputed the dollar amount of the trip related to the Aloha Airline ticket. The case is still pending. Eric tried to make it sound like THEY had initiated the refund of my money related to Aloha, while it was ME who took action.

I had to spend an additional $800 because Cheapticket NEVER warned us that the return flight was canceled with enough notice for us to act properly. Their substandard customer service created unduly hardship on a very special event (a bachelorette party) that only happens once and cannot be redone. As a customer, I did all in my might to make sure the trip would work out as planned - still Cheaptickets did not fulfill their part of the contract.

I found it shameful that Brandon tried to trick us by claiming that the panic call was a timely notice of the canceled flight (he had access to the dates and I had no calendar in front of me during the call) and that Eric was trying to take credit for the pending refund of the canceled Aloha flight. In addition, as a customer, I should be able to expect that Cheaptickets is actually trying to help me. Not trick me (as Brandon tried to do), not ignore my issue (as Marcello did), and not behave rude or trying to take credit for pending settlements that was initiated by me (as Eric did).

On 5/4/07 I placed an order with Cheap Tickets for 4 flights to Ireland, and an infant who would sit on my lap. The price reflected online was $894 per ticket. The total came to $3577.42, which is the amount I authorized on my credit card. Immediately after placing my order, I received a confirmation email which stated the charges of $4995.86, an amount I DID NOT authorize. The confirmation was for a full price ticket for my infant, and more than the original quoted price for the all the tickets. I called their customer service immediately. They said that they bill for full price tickets and then issue a refund. This sounded like a hoax, so I canceled the order. The cancellation took place in less than one hour of placing the order. The customer service representative told me that a fee of $50 per ticket would be charged to my account.

I then called American Express to see if they had put the charges through or canceled the order. I was informed that my credit card had been charged $4995.86, and no sign of a credit issued from the company. On 5/7/07, I received the airline tickets in the mail from Cheap Tickets. I called their customer service department, who said that they would issue me a full credit, but that my credit card would still be billed and they could not issue me a refund. I was told I had one year to use the credit that was issued. I requested to speak to a supervisor, but was disconnected. I called back and spoke with two customer service representatives who never transferred me to a supervisor. On 6/1, I was asked by my credit card company, to send the tickets back to Cheap Tickets and so they could issue me a full credit. I called Cheap Tickets, found out where to send the tickets to, and confirmed that I had a credit in the amount of $3577.42, good for one year.

Today, March 10th, 2008, I called to book another flight to Ireland through Cheap Tickets. I was told that my credit expired on July 4, 2007, the date of the flight I had originally booked. I spoke with a customer service representative and 2 supervisors, only to find out that the portion of the refund they were willing to offer was $41 per person, for the booking fees.

$3977.42 out of pocket and no tickets to Ireland, which created the ordeal of having to come up with an additional $3000 so I could actually book a legitimate flight in time for my fiance's parent's anniversary. It may not sound like a lot of money to some, but it put us in a difficult financial position and put a lot of financial stress on what was supposed to be a holiday to remember.

I was told by Cheap Tickets that because it was a package with a car that I would have to forfeit the car portion but could request a credit from Delta for future flight and that I would have a year to rebook. I found out today that the tickets had expired since they had not been used within one year of original purchase. Not the flight date, but the date of purchase. They gave me inadequate or mis-leading information and I'm out about $700 just because I decided to drive to NC to scatter my parents ashes.

I purchased 2 round trip tickets to Cancun Mexico for 2-19-08 through 2-24-08 at The Omni Cancun ALL Inclusive, or so I was told on the phone back in December 2007. When we arrived at the hotel they asked if I would like to upgrade to all inclusive! I stated I had already paid for this when I purchased my tickets over the phone with Cheaptickets. They stated I had not. I called Cheaptickets and was on hold or at least not hung up on for 2 hours! They stated I did not purchase all inclusive, I had just purchased roundtrip tickets and a room.

I have been calling them since I returned home on 2-25-08 requesting they reimburse me for the additional $800.00 I had to pay at the hotel. Per Cynthia (supervisor), they cannot do this, but she could send me a $200.00 voucher for my next flight. I asked to talk the the president or owner of Cheaptickets, and they cannot give me that information. I also am still waiting on my voucher as of 2-29-08.

I was out an additional $800.00 when we got to our hotel.

Be aware before you make any reservations with CheapTickets! My canceled two international tickets haven't been refunded by CheapTickets after 9 billing cycles. All numerous CheapTickets supervisors I've dealt with only pushed the responsibility to Continental airline. According to Continental Airline, also with documentation that the Airline already issued the refund checks to CheapTickets. CheapTickets got my refund money, but had never deposit a dime into my credit card account. None of the CheapTickets customer service representatives and supervisors would give me their last names according to their rules. Many of the customer services were speaking English in very strong accent that I could not understand. Also, the phone quality was bad that I sometimes had a hard time hearing them speaking clearly. Most of CheapTickets supervisors were simply polite to you, then they were done dealing with you. One of the customer service with very strong accent even called me back and questioned me for my credit card numbers, but he wouldn't let me know his last name. BE CAREFUL!

After 9 billing cycles, I haven't received my refund which worths around $3,500 USD, not to mention my phone bill of international phone calls to them, the time I wasted talking to them and all the e-mail I've written. Worst on-line experience I've never had.

After I booked a flight, hotel and car rental with cheaptickets.com, I expected that all fees were finished. Instead, I had to pay for checking luggage, and an additional 'resort fee' at the hotel. Lastly, when renting a car, we were told an additional person would be $10 per day (we had booked a package for 2 people). The hotel also did not offer continental breakfast as I was led to believe. In fact, the hotel (Howard Johnson's in Kissimmee, Florida) was misleading. They say they had a heated pool and Internet service. The pool wasn't heated, and the Internet kept going down. This is not as bad a story as others, but these problems cost us an extra $200. This was further frustrating because cheaptickets.com doesn't have an easy way to contact them. There isn't an option when you phone to talk about this, and when you submit a question, nobody contacts you back.

Extra $200. Inconvenience of having to find and buy breakfast each day. Inconvenience of same person having to drive the car every day. Inconvenience and time wasted (on vacation) because computer didn't work.

On Jan 28th, I called the airlines to check on my departing flight out of Charleston to Dallas Fort Worth. I was informed that the particular flight I had been booked on had been canceled 2 weeks ago, and there was no flight booked for me to fly out of Charleston. My connecting flight in Dallas that would take me to Amarillo was confirmed but no further information or reservations for me to leave Charleston. Flight 2295 on US Airways was canceled, leaving me stuck with less than 24 hours to book a flight on my own, The total trip cost with Cheaptickets was $320.80, round trip.

I was left with no recourse other than to purchase another ticket, with no advance, one way, to make my connecting flight in Dallas. This ticket with Delta Airlines cost $327.50. That was more than the round trip ticket already purchased with Cheaptickets. When US Airways flight 2295 was canceled, Cheaptickets was responsible for finding and booking me on another flight to connect in Dallas-Fort Worth. And they should have made me aware of the changes via email with a new itinerary. They did NOTHING.

I already paid for the round trip ticket but was forced to pay for another ticket. When I called, I was given the run around and called ma'am: about 500 times. I asked that I be reimbursed for the flight I was forced to purchase--and was basically blown off and ignored. I paid for my trip in full and then was forced to buy another ticket at great expense to myself. Cheapticket's position is they owe me NOTHING.

I purchased a ticket to go visit my sister in Italy. I had a connecting flight in Germany, however, once there I was not allowed to continue on to my finally destination as I needed a visa to get to Italy and I did not have one. Before I even got on the plane to leave the USA I received an email from cheap tickets stating Know before you go, that had a link about visa information.I followed that link which lead me to a site which stated A visa is not required for tourist stays up to three months with a valid passport.

From the looks of the site it was clear I did not need a visa,as in my mind I had a valid passport and I assumed they would send appropriate information. However,as mentioned before, thats not the case.

As I later saw after returning to NY there are more detailed sites out there that break down the requirements, and if presented with that information at that point I wouldn't be here writing this now. I basically lost an entire trip because of an email who's clear purpose was to inform the consumer of necessary information prior to their trip.

Now, once I got back home and tried to reach customer service to simply inform them of what happened, things got worse; After 3 hours on hold and talking to different people and being treated like all I wanted was a refund, when I clearly stated each time I wanted to file a complaint, a supervisor with a poor attitude told me to fax over proof of what I read to the exchange department at a 310 number. I said ok and attempted to do so and that number wasn't working so I called back to verify and was given the same number again. The fax still didn't work, so the next day I called, and it was someone named Paul's answering machine. Unbelievable.

And now I want a full refund. They are treating me like a moron by giving me bogus numbers, and lying to me, and all in all they cost me a trip. All they needed to do was acknowledge my situation and apply some degree of concern...I will never purchase from them OR their affiliates again.

I could not go to Italy. I was separated from my luggage, which I eventually got back. My sister was unaware of where I was for 3 hours as I had no time to call her before Delta got me on a flight back to NY (on the same plane I came in on). My husband thought I was with my sister and was worried after learning I was not. I can't get a refund for at least my return trip with the airline as they are not at fault. I lost 2 days of work to go on this trip, which was fine till I got wrong information that made it a total loss of 700+ dollars.

Also, for the second passenger, her name was misspelled by one letter.

After several attempts to get the problem fixed, I asked to speak to a manager. The first manager wasn't a manager at all, but rather an agent. When I finally got a chance to speak with a real manager - not an impersonator the news was not good. I was told that the ticket could be canceled and reimbursed, but it would take 2-3 billing cycles to credit card which reserved the flight. Also, if the flight was canceled and we tried and rebook the same flight, there was a possibility it would not have been available. Let me preface with the remark that my problem has been resolved, but I would like to warn others about the rudeness and evasiveness of the phone representatives at CheapTickets.com and about what is apparently a policy of theirs to always refuse a refund on any ticket purchased through them.

When I and my 3 adult children decided to visit Switzerland last summer, we had no trouble purchasing tickets for British Airways (BA) flights from CheapTickets.com. The problem came when one of us was unable to travel and I attempted to get a refund for her ticket. While both Ba and CheapTickets agreed the ticket was refundable, each insisted that the other must make the refund.

I called both companies many times in late January and early February of 2007 and found that CheapTickets representatives always had a different reason why they could not refund the ticket; in general they were quite evasive.

When at last I asked to speak to a supervisor, I reached one named John on the afternoon of January 30, 2007. He again stated that CheapTickets would not refund the money, but he also lied to me (his statements were completely contradicted by another representive when I called again that evening), was generally rude and, when I pressed for a straight answer and (I'll admit, became frustrated after a point, but I don't believe I was rude) evenually actually hung up on me.

During the subsequent call later that evening, the representative I reached said that John was still on duty and that he did not wish to speak with me. I had by that time become convinced that it was the actual policy of CheapTickets to ALWAYS refuse any refund.

Fortunately, I did eventually reach a BA representative who pointed out the way to get a refund and I finally received it later in February. But I will never again use CheapTickets.com to purchase tickets for any flight; I learned a difficult lesson from this experience. Fortunately, it did eventually turn out OK.

My ticket was eventually refunded (through BA), although there was a $200 fee to have that done.

I booked a flight from Indpls to Barcelona Spain departing on 11/22/2006 and returning on 11/26/2006. The departing flight had me leave Barcelona on Lufthansa which landed in Germany. Then I was to fly with NWA to detroit then connect again to Indianapolis. The departing flight was a bad flight as by the time my plane landed from Barcelona to Frankfurt, Germany, (which was then to go from Germany to Detroit) the ticket counter had closed and I had to wait until the next day when a flight was available. The flight was not delayed!!

I contacted Cheaptickets.Com several times and they keep telling me that it is my fault that I booked the flight and that I should have known that there wasn't enough time between my connecting flights to make the flight. I told them that they were my travel advisors and they said since I choose it that I was my own travel agent. My last conversation with them was on 1/19/07. I also asked them to send me an email or snail mail saying this information for my records and they declined saying that it is their policy not to do this. Cheaptickets was rude as soon as I told them I had problems with their flight. Prior to that they were super nice to bait you in into going with their service. I have insurance through them as well and the insurance company is giving me the runaround but this is another complaint.

I lost one day of work, the hotel expenses, telephone charges, and etc. My first international trip was just a disaster.

I booked a flight in Feb'07 online at cheaptickets.com for a trip for May 25-29th however on May 3rd I had to cxl the flight. I received and email from cheaptickets stating that the flight was cxl'd and that I would have 1 year from original date of booking the flight to re-book the flight. In Dec'06 i went to go rebook the flight but no one at cheaptickets could find the cancelled flight. I spoke w/several different representatives in one day. I got hung up on, put on hold for long extended periods of time and etc.

I finally spoke with someone and I had to fax them my email confirmation from cheaptickets showing that i had cancelled the flight online. So i did. I then called back and after getting the run around again i finally spoke with someone else who then got a supervisor/manager on the phone and stated that I would get a $200.00 coucher instead. Ever since then I have gotten nothing but the run around and once again have spoken with many different representatives. Some of which sound like they know what they are doing but many of them who don't and either disconnect the call, tsfr you to a wrong department or once again keep you on hold for long periods of time.

My name is Calvin, I've purchased a 2001 Chevy Malibu brand new in 2001. In the summer of 2004 I took my car to a GM dealer to get a oil change. When the mechanics did an inspection on my car, I was told that my gasket intake manifold was leaking oil. I thought I was still under warranty, but it occurred to me that at this point I've already driven my car at the 80,000 mile mark. I was also told that Dex-Cool antifreeze was the only coolant I could use for my car. As a result of using this substance, I'm having problems with my engine.

To my surprise Cheap Tickets billed me twice for one trip to the tune of $830 for the airfare with Delta. As soon as I saw the duplicate billing I contacted customer service. They requested a copy of my credit card statement showing the duplicate charge, which I promptly faxed to them. It is now October 25, still no refund and I am paying 29.9% interest. They only give me canned responses to email inquires, or put me off and say they are working on it when I call.

Now they are saying that Air India is not responding to their calls and they are canceling the ticket. However, since they have already paid American, they cannot refund his money for two months.

The poor guy has used all him money to buy this ticket and has a confirmation. However, now he cannot fly to India. How can this be legal? He called and some idiot in Eastern Europe answers and tells him there is nothing he can do. He needs his money back....

When I asked where it explained about non-refundability, I was told in the fare rules. Not plainly visible like the info about being charged for a change or cancellation. CHEAP tickets is definitely the correct name. I will never use them again or recommend them. We are trying to cancel the charge but we could end up losing $430.

I bought tickets to fly international from Cheaptickets.com. I didn't know that the name on the passport has to be the same as the name on the ticket. That was my fault, so they were helpful enought to issue a refund back to my credit card and told us that it will be 1-2 billing cycles. Long story short, they refunded one of three tickets. Waited for the other 2 for close to 3 months and so we finally called. Now, they told us it usually takes 3-4 billing cycles so we waited again. After 4 billing cycles we called again and they told us that it's been a while so the reference number is no longer in their system. Mind you that 4 months of accrued interest from my credit card and the fees associatied to cancelling the flight build up. I'm losing more money by waiting. So then they put us on hold to check what's going on, after 1 hour of holding on a cellphone, the disconnected the call.

That's not it, we called again and was put on hold between 30-60 mins so they can find out what happened 3 more times and gave us the run around and told us that we would have to wait another 2-3 billing cycles. I told them that this isn't acceptable. Again, since we had to use our cellphones, we end up having a $200 phone bill. So the more we wait and the more we talk to them, we keep losing money. They're customer service is horrible. Nobody know's what's going on. They finally found out what happened and blamed their refund department because they entered it in a different system. So we're supposed to get our refund within 7-10 days. it's been a week now, so we'll see. Lessons learned and will never, ever use them AGAIN!!!

Because of time, charges, and fees we lost approximately $300 just for waiting for our refund. Also, the aggrevation that it caused us. I'm also currently deployed to the middle east defending my country and the last thing I want to think about is not getting our refund and costing us more money because of this.

I booked 5 tickets for my family (3 young children) to fly from San Francisco to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We were going for my brother-in-law's wedding. I bought the tickets on Feb 11 for a departure on May 25 at 6:30 am on Delta. When I arrived at the airport the flight had been moved up,( Delta informed this happened on March 11). We missed our flight and could not get another one without paying $3600.

Cheaptickets never notified me. I had paper tickets that were mailed UPS. Cheaptickets claims they notified me by email. I could find no such email. Cheaptickets could not tell me the date the flight was changed nor could they tell me the date nor content of any emails they sent me. They claim it is my fault for not checking with the airline 72 hours in advance. The airline says they notified cheaptickets and that cheaptickets, as my travel agent, is responsible for notifying me.

A long planned family vacation/celebration was destroyed. We ended up being able to get a flight on Sunday for $450 more. But we got to Puerto Vallarta at 3:45 pm, wedding at 7:00, then had to leave for the airport by 1:30 pm the next day to catch our return flight. We spent 24 hours travelling and 24 hour at our destination. My children did not get to spend the time with their grandparents, aunts, and uncles. The only reason it was worth it for us to spend the money, we don't have, on this trip was because it was a rare occasion for all of my wife's family to be in the same place at the same time. We also lost 3 days of prepaid hotel rooms. PS: Delta airlines also performed very, very poorly in this whole affair.

I logged on to the website and initiated the change and was informed that there would be additonal fees for the change. I accepted the fees because the error was my own.

About two weeks later, I noticed on my bank statement that there was an overcharge of $50 posted to my account. I called cheaptickeys.com and was told that there was no way for them to see how much they charged me, that I would have to send them a copy of the bank statement as proof of the overcharge. I was not sure how a company is unable to tell how much money they received from a client (if that is the case, then how do they know they got money at all?) Reluctantly, I faxed over the statement. I waited and called them the next day to confirm the receipt of the fax.

They stated that they received it and apologized for the error and assured me that I would have a credit at my bank within 5-7 days. 7 days later, no refund. I called back and was told that it hadnt been processed yet and the person handling it was on vacation for a week. So, lesson learne...never buy anything from cheaptickets.com. I searched for fares for my grandmother on Cheaptickets.com. They advertised several lower fares. My grandmother was going to visit her sister who is a missionary nun in Africa. For about ten different combinations of flights, cheap tickets advertised a fare from Atlanta to Monrovia, Liberia for aroun $1800. The carriers involved were Delta, United, and SN Brussels Airlines. When I went to book the flight, it said, must call airlines directly. Clicking on a button gave several generic reasons for why one might not be able to book online. I called each airline. Each said they had no way to book the itinerary, either through the other airlines and certainly not at the advertised fare.

I called Cheaptickets.com back. On hold for a long time. Finally the girl answered, I spoke to her about the situation. She said via phone they could help me book the fares. She would have to transfer to to the phone reservations division. She transferred me. A man answered and said something about the opportunity he had for me. I told him my situation. He said the only way for me to get phone assistance was to pay and sign up for Cheaptickets Gold. I declined. I had actually had this service before and they never did what they were supposed to do. I declined and said I just needed help with what had been promised and advertised. He said he couldn't do that. I said transfer me back to customer service. Said he couldn't do that. I said give me a supervisor. Said he couldn't do that. I said give me your boss. Said he couldn't do that. I said this was a classic bait and switch and false advertising. What was his name? He hung up on me then.

So, I called the first customer service number back. Waited for ten minutes again. Finally got a rep. Asked for a supervisor. She agreed and then placed me on hold. Off and on, she placed me on hold for twenty minutes. I told her I needed to know how long it would be until I could talk to a supervisor-- 1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes? She said she had no idea and put me back on hold. This time, I hung up.

Still don't know if these fares are even available. Have called the airlines directly. The closest amounts I am coming to are almost $1000 more!

My wife and I are planning to fly to San Jose in September and we booked our flights separately. I booked initially through Cheaptickets and told her that I was flying on United Airlines from Pittsburgh to San Jose and when I was flying. She subsequently booked her flights through Expedia.com a few days later. When I checked the flights that she had scheduled, they actually had different flight numbers even though they were scheduled only about 10 minutes different from the flights that I had scheduled.

To sort out this discrepancy, I called United Airlines. They indicated that the flights my wife had scheduled on were replacement flights for the flights that I had scheduled on which they had since cancelled. I then asked the United agent to put me on the same flights as my wife and they told me that I would have to reschedule the flights through the travel agency from whom I had purchased them. United said they could not change the scheduled flights for me since the tickets came through Cheaptickets.com, and that I should not be charged anything just to put myself on the replacement flights for the cancelled flights on which I had been scheduled.

I went back to Cheaptickets.com but they still showed the old flights and did not show that United had canceled my flights and rescheduled the alternative flights that my wife was scheduled on. Instead, the way that Cheaptickets.com had things set up, it was NECESSARY to have to re-book my tickets onto the newer flights to ensure that I would have seats on them. So, having no other alternative, I scheduled on the new flights. However, this caused a major re-booking fee of $150 charged by Cheaptickets.com which they have since insisted must be applied to my account and that this is the way that they handle this type of situation.

I believe I have been charged a re-booking fee unfairly of over $150 because Cheaptickets did not have accurate information about my flight and did not show in their data that the flight had been cancelled and re-scheduled to other flights by the carrier. I have tried calling and emailing them to correct this problem and remove the re-booking fees. However, they have been totally unresponsive and unwilling to admit that their failure to update their information about the flights was the reason that the re-booking was made necessary.

I was basically forced to move my seats from flights that had been cancelled by the carrier to flights that had been scheduled in the place of the cancelled flights and was charged an exorbitant re-booking fee to do this! Interestingly, when I checked at Expedia, they, of course, already had all of the updated information that Cheaptickets had not shown for the cancelled and rescheduled flights. THis would suggest that this is an intentional scheme by Cheaptickets.com to collect inappropriate re-booking fees. I have since checked at several places on the internet and it appears that this practice by Cheaptickets.com is quite common. I personally think it is time that this behavior be legally challenged and stopped. I have put a great deal of personal time and effort into attempting to correct the problem to absolutely no avail. Cheaptickets.com has refused to hear my complaint and insists that they have the right to charge a full re-booking fee under these conditions.

I bought a ticket over the internet through CheapTickets.com on America West on 5/18/05 for travel on 5/23/05 in the name of Daniel Isquierdo and charged it on my bank card. When I received my bank statement, there was the charge for America West in the amount of $129.41, as well as a charge for $164.00 that also said America West, both charged on 5/18/05. I called CheapTickets and they told me I bought two tickets (for the same day of travel and the same destination) and they told me to call America West.

I contacted America West and they only had the one ticket that was already used. After further investigation, they discovered that the other ticket was purchased through Frontier Airlines. I then called them and explained the circumstances, and they cancelled the open ticket and mailed a check to CheapTickets. I called CheapTickets to find out when the money was going to be put back into my account and they told me it would take at least 2 to 3 billing cycles, which brought it to September or October, 2005. This is inexcusable since they double-booked the flight, which I have heard they do in many instances, and then tell me it will take 2 to 3 months for the money to go back into my account.

I am a single mother and the bank took $164.00 out of my account, which is a lot of money to me when I have to support a 9-year old. And now I'm told that I will not have the money for 2-3 months. In addition, something should be done with regards to CheapTickets being able to double-book individuals, and in many cases, they probably get away with it.
