    We have always been told that any of our children and grandchildren could take advantage of our 3 bedroom lock-off unit at the resort even if we did not accompany them. We were told that anyone not a family member used the unit we would have to buy a guest certificate for them. We had our reservations for the 3 bedroom unit beginning June 16 through June 23rd. Due to the unexpected death of my brother and a memorial service on Sat. morning, My husband and I knew we could not get to the resort until late Sat.

    My daughter had arrived at our home to visit a few days before our planned vacation (she lives in Colorado) and had to pick up her husband and daughter and son-in-law at the Orlando airport on Friday night. (Airline tickets were purchased months before). I called Calypso Cay and explained that we had a death in the family and that my daughter would be checking in one condo on Fri. We were told that we would have to pay for a guest certificate ($70) because she was not listed on the deed! We were quite taken by surprise! That was just the beginning of several scams to get more money.

    When we went to the Calypso Cay Sales office (to hear updates about the "property" that we always seem to be requested to do), we mentioned this to the salesman and he said that should not have happened and that it would be rectified. When my daughter checked her credit card charges, it showed two guest certificate charges but only one had been taken off. I called Calypso again and was told that was charges for a guest certificate because she was not on the deed.

    It turns out that our updates turned out to be just a high-pressured sales pitch for us to switch to an RCI membership. Which costs around 5,000 dollars to change to a points system of 123,000 points that was going to offer us 12 vacation weeks and SO MUCH MORE! It would pay for our yearly maintenance fee and we would have thousands of dollars coming in if we rented our condo out, even the one bedroom. When we asked How many points the one week maintenance used, it was 53,000 and 10 percent of the rental money went to the renting company.

    The RCI salesman also told us this was a Matrix plan that was a step above the RCI plan. (I think it's just a way to get more money for the bigwigs in the RCI program). Our salesman presented this plan with so many smiles and so much enthusiasm that he couldn't believe that we were not swallowing hook, line, and sinker. The Matrix plan was a no-brainer (my words)! Thankfully we asked to have our daughter sit in and ask questions on the second day (yes, he made it sound good, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is).

    Bottom line, we did not go with RCI or the Matrix system and the $100 dollar gift card that we got for attending the sales talk, had already been used when I tried to use it several days later. Luckily, I feel blessed that we asked many questions, even going back twice to talk to the salesman, the second time with our daughter, that we did not let smiles and high-pressure sales talk win in the end! I am thankful!

    Called Inn at Calypso Cay Resort to add 1 extra night and be able to check in 5/23/17. Was told no problem and was emailed the updated itinerary and with the rates. Check out was to be 5/28/17 as we were excited to spend Memorial Weekend there. When we got there we were told that we had to go to the Welcome Center to pay and then come back to the resort to check in because now the Resort will become Holiday Inn Express when the renovations are completed. No one told us that the property was under construction with plaster dust everywhere, noise from 9 am - 6 pm during the week and on weekends till 5 pm. The hotel did not have a room available as confirmed on the email and wanted to give us a unacceptable dinky room which was not a king suite. Now it is 1 am and 2 hours have passed and the Welcome Center blamed the Hotel and visa versa.

    My 4 years old granddaughter was crying, tired and finally by 2 am the Resort found a recently renovated King suite which was just painted. Sure enough after falling sleep at 3 am; 9 am the construction workers started banging and out in the hall, hoses and wires everywhere. Then on the 3rd floor you can smell the plaster and the elevator was full of footsteps with plaster. My granddaughter has asthma so we could not stay there anymore and check out today 5/26/17 at 2 pm. They would not give us a partial refund for today which I explained we just could not stay there anymore with all that construction going on; that is not the vacation we were expecting. The representatives at the Welcome Center at Inn at Calypso Cay are rude and not helpful at all. Will never again stay there. Ruined our vacation. I am still waiting for a refund for the horrible experience on 5/23 and for not staying till 5/28.

    We own two timeshares at Calypso Cay. In late 2015 and early 2016, we and all other owners were obligated to change from Interval International (II) to RCI as the third party trading company. The transition was and continues to be a DISASTER due to NO flow of information. As part of this "upgrade" a deal was struck between Calypso and RCI to DISCONTINUE the practice of banking unused weeks, as was (and continues to be) the previous practice with II. The reason for this, is now clear. I can picture Stephen Bradley and his Board of Directors sitting around the conference table brainstorming how to wring more money out of the owners and realizing they can now UPSELL owners from a "weeks" arrangement to a "points" arrangement for the "privilege" of banking weeks, which was previously offered at no additional cast through II. Oh yeah, from weeks to points? Thousands of dollars.

    Further, the RCI publication "Stay Vacationed" clearly indicates that RCI members can enjoy saving or banking unused timeshare weeks for 2 years (just like II) unless (of course) you belong to Calypso Cay where that option was negotiated out. Yes, RCI offers more resorts, but, if you don't use you annual or bi-annual weeks accumulation, in one year, you LOSE them. So, I have filed complaints with the Florida BBB and the Florida State Attorney General's office and I encourage all Calypso Cay owners to do the same.

    The stay in this rundown, roach and bed bug infested property was so awful that my 9-year-old daughter and both of my 10-year-old nieces kept asking when was our last day!!! They kept getting picked on by some ghetto, hoodlums and a boy hit my daughter in the back so hard she lost her breath!! All because she told him to go to the back of the line because he was trying to "cut" in front of her!!! I booked a room from Friday, June 3-Monday, June 6 and this stay cost me over $700.00. I paid for a "vacation" through bestvacationsever.com for $299.00 plus I was supposed to receive 2 theme park tickets and I ended up staying in the HOE-TEL INSTEAD OF THE CONDOS!!!

    If you have small kids, this is not the place to bring them. I had to keep taking them out of the room because we kept hearing the beds squeaking and hitting the walls day in and out! I was charged for a tour that I didn't want to do because I wouldn't DARE buy a timeshare with them to end up sharing all the amenities with any Tom, Dick, and Harry that wants to rent a hotel room to get freaky with who knows WHAT!!! CALYPSO CAY AND BESTVACATIONSEVER.COM ARE THE WORST COMPANIES EVER!!!

    Brought my family here for Christmas vacation and booked through Orlando tourist info. We were told we had to do a 90 min tour and got a great discount at a really nice place. We may have bought timeshare because we do travel quite a bit. When we arrived to our room after checking in at 3am the nightmare began. The room was so dirty. 2 of the 4 Tv's didn't work. There was a leak in the laundry room. The deadbolt lock on the front door was missing it was broke off. We had 4 towels for a 3 bedroom villa. The phone didn't work, not enough hot water for everyone to shower. There were not enough blankets and sheets for the pull out couch.

    I have never seen a place so dirty that they would be trying to sell me. As we complained to front desk we got nowhere, even after running out of toilet paper we were told we have a starter kit and I didn't read the paper that was given to me that I was responsible for buying toilet paper. At the presentation, we were told we got the leftover rooms because the beautiful villas we should have had were booked. This was bait and switch. Don't ever stay at this place if you want a nice resort it was nothing but. Vacation ruined and lesson learned.

    I was told that my maintenance fees weren't paid for 2015 so I had to send a copy of checks to prove it. Now I haven't been at this resort in 10 years and never missed a payment. Resort tells me that I have to pay another $491 for 2016, and won't be allowed back in room until fee are paid. Also refuse to give me my suitcase that was brought to the resort by Frontier (bag lost for 2 days). Gave the bag back after threatening me. (Finance man Mr. **). Calypso Cay know these fees weren't paid before I got there. This is not acceptable. I made these reservations 2 months in advance. While at the front desk, I told Brandi that I wasn't happy with my room because the air didn't work well, that was push to the side and never mentioned until fees are paid I'm guessing. My room air conditioner doesn't work properly. 77-79 are the only temperature that the screen displays.

    Rooms get little cool then the entire place goes back warm. Hot at night hard to sleep. We have another timeshare and you best better believe it's nothing like this experience ever. Hey story gets even better, I give Resort $400 and a credit card for the remaining $91. Mr. ** then tells me I'm not allowed in the building, he has to take the monies and card in to run it. I specifically tell Mr. ** only run $91. Mr. ** comes outside and says "oop, Ms. ** we made a mistake." He ran $491, and says "do you want me to reverse the charge." YES I DO (I SPEND A TOTAL OF TWO HOURS, THIS THE WORST AT CALYPSO CAY). HOW DO I SALE.

    Made use of a complimentary 3-day stay at their Inn (which is *not* the resort, but a run down hotel where they house potential timeshare buyers) in exchange for sitting through their high pressure sales pitch; if you don't sit through the pitch, they bill you $300 for the stay. The sales staff was actually very friendly and personable; they sold it well and I bought the smallest timeshare.

    After paying the $1,000 deposit on the mortgage via a credit account they applied for on my behalf, I received a letter several weeks later saying that I had failed to make payments pursuant to terms in the Purchase Contract and was in default. No notices were received from them, only the default letter, which was sent via certified mail. The letter outlined that all monies were retained as damages and that my Purchase Contract was cancelled. Compared to other complaints, I got off lucky in that they only took $1,000 from me and I never had to experience the actual resort and maintenance fee hassles that other complaints mention. I will *never* own a timeshare again and I will happily join any class-action against these grifters.

    After checking into the villa, the room was dirty, dishes were dirty that were in the cabinet, part of the stove top doesn't work and the door gets stuck. We called to make the front desk and make them aware and the front desk blew it off. One of the remotes for the tv had dead batteries and it took two days to get the batteries replaced. I called to get additional toilet paper after three days of staying there and I was told at the front desk they didn't provide that. I asked them what do they provide beside a dirty room and terrible customer service? Do not stay at this resort!

    I am an owner at this resort for several years now. I've only been able to stay 1 time as I am always told "too late, you had to call before **." I pay 400$ a year maintenance fee but can only use every other year! Didn't see that in the contract. I finally was able to secure time there for next vacation. After reading all these reviews, I'm scared!!! Have to get back to you on results of that trip in 3 weeks. Last time I stayed there was 5 years ago, rooms were clean and pool and grounds lovely. Staff at that time was not the friendliest. I guess it's gone downhill from there according to all these complaints.

    I too have been hit with late fees from Meridian on maintenance fees when I wasn't given a time frame to pay... $850.00!!! I have tried to sell my property but it's always more money to pay. Last guy wanted a mere $3800 to take it off my hands! If I find this place a nightmare when I arrive, you can be sure I'll be outta there! Too many places to stay in Kissimee. But major concern is why isn't an agency, BBB, Consumer Affairs, etc. cleaning this place up. Where are the agencies to help the customer?

    So I book here as a last minute family vacation. Upon arrival I was told my reservations was canceled but I had prepaid for the trip. So after about 2 hours I was told I could go to the front desk to check in. Well when I booked I was told I would pay 10 to 15 a day for resort fees. When I went to check in I had to pay 82.00 plus another 150.00 which I wasn't aware of. After finally getting in a villa it was a one bedroom when I was to get a 2. I was so frustrated.

    As we arrived to the resort there was a line of 20 people breaking and complaining. We had to attend a 90 min meeting next day for getting the trip online cheaper. We were pressured at the front building to buy timeshares. The 90 minutes turned in 3 hours. We told them 10 times we aren't able to afford this and we aren't Florida residents. The pressure is so bad the building is full of these agents doing this to people. I read online how lots of people are getting scammed like this. I can't believe this resort is allowing these people to do this to people. The pictures online are better than they offer. The slides are very small and a different color. People were smoking and drinking in the pool near the bar side. Children go down the slides head first and on top of each other very dangerous. Housekeeping was 16 dollars more a day than listed.

    The floors were dirty when we got there my socks was black from floors. The breakfast was good, kitchen women were nice. I would not recommend this place. I'm trying to keep my words nice. I took pictures of everything. If anyone would like to contact me **. I overheard some owners by the pool talking about curtains being dirty that were new and upset about the workers. Also the agent that tried to force us to buy timeshare for 19k with 500 down talked bad about the resort that we could do better and stay in much better and just rent the weeks we buy out. This was just a horrible experience. Someone needs to contact dateline or someone to investigate. So horrible. =(

    All fees was prepaid, so we thought. Upon check in we were hit with a $150 deposit plus $350 that was held until after timeshare seminar. We were told seminar was going on the next day of check in by the rep. but had to wait two days for seminar while they held our money. When taken to our villa, we were placed across the street away from all the luxury we were promised. Once we enter the villas it was like entering a housing project. Doors slamming allll nite, kids running up and down the stairs allll nite.

    Now about the timeshare seminar. We get to the seminar. We were greeted with stale donuts, water and milk. Juice machine out of order, but was told there would be a HOT MEAL. After listening to an hr of sales pitches, now it was time to visit a condo. No one can find the the keys to the golf carts. Had to literally walk to the condo. 90° outside. After tour another hr and 15 min. of harassment.

    We were promised TWO FREE tickets to Universal, but they said they had no knowledge or confirmation for them. Now we're tongue wrestling for another hr. Well we decided to purchase our own tickets. Mind you they are already holding $500. And now we end up spending $228. What a NIGHTMARE. After trying to contact our Rep. **, for another hour we decided to head for the park, mind you it's after 12pm. Then ** returns our call. We tell him our problem. He had us to return back to get our tickets that we're promised. Now we have to return the ones we purchased and wait until the bank puts our money back on our card. Now we have $728 on hold for our vacation money. Worst vacation ever.

    I went for a tour in exchange for Disney tickets. Long story short... I ended up buying this "deal". I was promised to be able to travel anytime, own a 2 bedroom condo and be able to travel to places I've never been before... Europe etc. I could exchange points (96,000) for cruises, cars, hotels etc. Also promised 5 bonus travel weeks. Well... I bought this DEAL back on October 11, 2014 from CALYPSO CAY IN ORLANDO. To this day I have been fighting non stop with them to get what I was promised!! I was scammed into signing papers and being told, "It's all just paperwork"... I want my money back! I've being told that "The sales staff that sold and promised you that do not work here anymore".. And "you should just pay because we are going to ruin your perfect credit", "We don't offer that program anymore"... And a whole bunch more crap!

    I have received no paperwork since! I have made so many. Contacted many people. I contacted the Federal Trade Commission yesterday and put in a complaint. IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD AN ISSUE WITH CALYPSO CAY , PLEASE CALL THEM AND PUT IN COMPLAINT. 1-202-326-2222. The more people, the more action and the better possibility for refunds.

    We have tried over and over to use this Timeshare effectively but every time we turn around their rules change. The customer service said that I was a week late in depositing my unit so they were unable and unwilling to help us. We basically threw our 1300.00 maintenance fee out the window and could not use our Timeshare. The staff was ineffective and not willing to help their own members. It is a dog eat world and we would have to get over it...

    I would never recommend this resort to any of my family nor friends. When we bought the Timeshares years ago we were basically smooth talked into purchasing this Timeshare and it has proven to be our biggest financial mistake that we have ever made. Please don't allow smooth talking salesman talk you into something you cannot use nor afford.

    Wow, how can a company like Calypso Cay stay in business with such dirty and unethical practices? All these similar complaints and no one will stand up to them! We had the same experience with **. Finally received the Matrix info after 3 months of waiting only to find out ** information was downright lies! Law states you have 10 days to cancel - how can one cancel when you are not given all the CORRECT information until 3 months later! Florida law also PROTECTS these cheats - oral information and promises mean nothing. We are beyond disappointed and all are dreams of the many vacations we planned are gone. STAY AWAY - RUN DON’T WALK!

    I reserved a room for spring break for me and my 3 kids. I was told my taxes would be between $12 and $15 per night but when I checked in, I was told that they were $72.30. I was also told I would be charged an extra $6 a day to do the basic house keeping which would be dirty towels and wash clothes removed and clean ones put in and to put toilet paper and soap in the room. But if I wanted my room cleaned, meaning vacuumed, bed made, sheets changed, trash removed, things that should be done, I would be charged $10 a day. When I asked for the manager she told me that was their policy.

    My wife & I had a holiday at Calypso Cay & we went to a timeshare seminar after meeting a nice guy called Juan **. We were not going to purchase anything until they offer to secure 168,000 points every two years & points available immediately on our return to Australia & this could be transferred to flights. Mark ** then came over to close the deal. His excellent sales pitch convinced us to sign as he stated we could fly from Australia to USA for free 4 times a year through this "MATRIX" system that is exclusive to this club. Mark ** was very good at his sales, gave us his personal mobile number, said "contact me anytime." We paid half the $15000 US on credit card & other half with monthly installments. On arrival back to Australia, apart from deeds sent, we have receive nothing on this "MATRIX" system. All efforts to contact him have been unsuccessful. However Juan **, the young 18 year old initial salesman emails me saying he will be in contact, but nothing eventuates.

    I believe this is a scam as Mark ** has not contacted me since I left the meeting in June. He assured me I would have all MATRIX information by the time I arrived home. I arrived home in July! Why is this information promised not here? Why doesn't Mark ** contact me? Why does Juan ** say "he will contact me "ASAP" & doesn't? Please everyone, I would recommend to say NO to anything from Calypso Cay Timeshare, Orlando Florida.

    I have two time shares at Calypso Cay (both are 3-bedrooms). Several times they have applied the payment to the wrong account. Even though I clearly state the account that I am paying. First they stated I had not paid my maintenance fee for 2014 and now they claiming that I have not PAID 2013. My deposit is showing on Internal record week #X with the date of deposit. They also used my credit card to pay several months on one account without my authorization. I was able to get three months back without legal actions. Currently, they are denying me used of one timeshare (3 bedrooms).

    I have paid this time share off in full. They stated they had not received my maintenance fee. I send them proof and they are applying it to the other time share account. On my check, I clearly wrote 2014 maint. fee for X account Week # X. This time share if paid off in full. I have called them and written them several (started in late Apr. and it in now Jun. I have not been able to make my deposit with Interval. I would like to get rid of this time share but I hate to put this off on some else.

    I booked a 9 day reservation for a full Villa - I booked it with a tour company called Newport (which is a marketing company for various hotels including Calypso Cay). When I arrived Marlene at the front desk represented they did NOT have my reservation, and they insisted I did not have a reservation. Since I not only had a reservation but fully prepaid for my stay, I contacted the marketing department and it took over 2 hours for them to locate my reservation. The marketing department for the hotel contacted the hotel directly. But my troubles didn't stop there.

    The manager on duty by the name of Darlene put me in a villa that had a rusty refrigerator full of mold, a rusty microwave, a dirty oven that looked liked it came out of the 1960's, filth everywhere and BED BUGS!!! Unsanitary, paint chipping from the walls, rusty hinges, dirty linen and filthy furniture. When I complained she had me wait over 6 hours for another room - and put me in worse room and then conveniently left for the night. I have photos of everything.

    I was cold-called to promote a Time Share opportunity. I had just come home from Aruba and thought it was the legitimate company I had spoken with so I was excited to tour their property. I was promised 2 bedroom/2 bathroom accommodations along with a 2 night stay in Dayton, 2 days in Miami and 2 days in Cancun. It sounded like a sweet deal. Shortly after I called to make reservations and nothing was available for the many dates I requested. I also started to inquire about the accommodations in Daytona, Miami and Cancun. The clerk became uncomfortable and could not provide that info. I became nervous and called my credit card to dispute the charges. It was not possible.

    Next I planned to take my children for spring break and hope for the best. I made a reservation and for some reason looked at the reviews on Trip Advisor and learned that the place was a dump, was being investigated and had a terrible issue with BED BUGS and uncleanliness. I was horrified but the reservation was made. I called the resort and was promised clean, safe and accommodations in a hotel not at Calypso Cay. I called the night before I left to confirm everything was set. It wasn't. When I arrived the Calypso Cay was a 1 star motel complex not the beautiful 5 star resort I was promised. It was the old BAIT AND SWITCH. I was told that I could not see a room before giving my credit card and ID. I asked to speak to a manager and was escorted to an unkempt private room far from the lobby. The woman (who was not the manager) told me she could not show me a room or return my money. She brought the next manager who told me the same thing and became very aggressive.

    I was not given correct information about their place and then learned it was a scam by googling more information. Many people have been cheated out of money. Please see reviews at Trip Advisor and read the article about this place as a bait and switch money making operation.

    Calypso Cay charges a maintenance fee every year even if you only own every other year. This is wrong. We were never told that we would have to pay a maintenance fee in the "off" years. Our affordable vacation is not very affordable now. Read the fine print. We were misrepresented and are now looking for legal advice. Don't buy anything from Calypso Cay in Kissimmee, Florida.

    I own a timeshare at Calypso Cay Resort. They are a rip off. They give you options to deposit your weeks if you can't use them before they expire. But when you go to reserve the weeks or deposit them, they charge you a $39.00 fee to deposit and a $39.00 fee to change your week. When you try to reserve a week, there is never anything available. But they offer you a getaway for another fee for the same week you are trying to use already that you deposited. What a rip off this company is. It has two names and is owned by the same company, but they are charging you a lot of fees as if they are separate companies. Rip off.

    I purchased a so-called vacation package from Travel Fun in 2008. I will be filing a separate complaint about this company, but this complaint is related to the accommodations they sent us to. I recently won two airline tickets as a result of a lottery drawing. Remembering that I hadn't used my vacation package, I decided to make the best of it and fly to one of the areas that were a part of the package. We settled on Florida. When I contacted the travel agency to make the reservations, they told me that if I wanted to be in close proximity to where the welcome center was (because we had to listen to a 90-minute "presentation"), I should upgrade my standard package to the deluxe package, which would put us right across from the welcome center and give us access to free shuttle service. They also described the amenities, which sounded nice. The upgrade was $160.

    We arrived at the resort and thought it was okay. However, five minutes after getting there, a customer was expressing his frustration with the front desk staff. I looked at my husband like, "Oh, boy, here we go..." One quick note: I noticed right away that the front desk staff did not appear very chipper. After all, this was called the Calypso Cay and the colors were festive; I expected the staff to at least be smiling. Anyhow, we went through the standard paperwork with the front desk clerk who told us about the fee we would be charged if we didn't listen in on the presentation ($350). They took our credit card info to ensure we did. We also had to sign off on a piece of paper stating if we wanted housekeeping to change our sheets and towels, we would have to pay an additional fee per night.

    We declined, stating we would just clean our own room. I've never been in a hotel where basic towels and sheets were not replaced if you didn't pay an additional nightly fee. We get to the room and were immediately disappointed. Mind you, this was an "upgrade" from the standard accommodations. I was afraid to see what we upgraded from. The room was drabby, there were sheets on top of a blanket, and the fitted sheet did not fit right because it kept coming off the corners the whole time we were there. The carpet was old, and I commented to my husband I wondered if it had ever been changed. However, we decided to make the best of our stay there. I was taken aback by the fact that they charge 15% gratuity on Everything at the tiki bar, even a hamburger.

    Here is the kicker. We checked out on June 9th. Since we didn't even pick up the phone to call the front desk, we knew that there should be no additional charges for us. We'd budgeted ourselves down to the penny, having enough money left to take a cab to the airport because Florida is expensive. The front desk clerk says, "Your balance is $59.60." My head almost spun around. Balance for what? They explained that we had to pay taxes on the room. Now, when I was making the arrangements and paid the additional fee to upgrade, not to mention the $99 booking fee, nowhere did it come up that these fees did not include taxes. When we were checking in, this never came up. It only came up after we were checking out. So, we had a nice little complaining session going on. We were then asked to go in the back room and talk to the GM, Michael **.

    He must be very practiced in these issues because he was calm and he listened. Bottom line, we had spent all of our money paying for gratuities and all the other stuff there and had enough to get to the airport. He told us if we didn't pay the (surprise) balance, they would have to call the authorities. He did offer to work with us though. He told my husband, "Well, you could leave something here as collateral, such as a cell phone." We live in Illinois! Why would we leave a cell phone in Florida for a $59 bill! We told him over and over that we were never told taxes were not included and even showed him the confirmation from the travel agency. It didn't matter. Eventually, I had to call my best friend and she emailed this man her credit card information so that we wouldn't have to go to jail. While we were in there being held hostage for $59, another family was going through the same thing as they checked out, and he had his clerk to call the authorities on them. And as that was going on, another family had the exact same issue. Three families in a row during checkout? That should tell you something! Thank God for my friend being able to help us out, although she was on a fixed income! I paid her back, but nothing could quell the embarrassment from this!

    2 3-bedroom units were purchased at a presentation on 6/14/07. The 1st year we paid maintenance fees of $532 per unit. This year (yr.2) we were contacted in August, 2009 by Meridian, a purported collection agency, indicating that the maintenance sum was $1,385.92 PER UNIT. We contested this sum. By September 30, 2009 we were again contacted to now pay $1,526.58 for BOTH UNITS. We again queried this sum and was advised that late fees of $379.08 and interest charges of $114.98 were applied. I refused to pay these punitive charges since 1. Our efforts by phone to pay via customer service failed 2. I received no bill in the mail 3. No one call when the bill was due 4. Meridian claims that the bill was due in April but the anniversary is June.

    Bait & Switch: For our yearly vacation, we purchased a package to stay at their resort. What we received was a substandard hotel room in a hotel that was dirty, not-secure, and in general, horrid conditions. We could not get management to call us back at check in time. And we were prevented from leaving because we did not want to be charged $350.00 for not attending the "presentation."

    There were hallway carpet stains every two feet, elevator floors filthy with vents caked with dirt, scuffed walls in the hotel room, and bed mattresses that sank to the box spring were all "standard" and "no extra charge." We talked to at least six other families with similar feelings of being "held hostage" and similar discontent. The resort is nice and the resort grounds are well kept. The problem is the strong-arm or shady tactics that the marketing department or contractors do in booking. The problem is that the hotel management is excellent at ignoring phone calls. The problem is that The Sales department claims that the Marketing Contractors and Hotel Operators are all different entities.

    Bottom-line: A horrible stay and experience that we hold the overall corporate entity of Calypso Cay responsible. If any entity working for or under contract in the name of Calypso Cay commits these unethical operating practices, the overall corporate identity of Calypso Cay should be held responsible. I feel the anguish of exposing my family to filthy living conditions. The economic damage can start to be calculated in the cost of the package. However, the physical damage, if we get bed bugs or other diseases based on our stay has yet to be determined.

    The company is a timeshare resort. i own a week there(23 rd week of year) the issue is over 2008 maintenence fees. they are due april 1st of year, there was a issue of the 2007 fees in feb 08. that was there fault and corrected in march 08. No one then said anything about 2008 fees. i emailed in may 2008 to deposited my week in june into interval international so i can use it another time and also to pay the 2008 fees.

    i received a response the end 1st week of june to say i couldnt do anything with my week because the fees for 2008 was not paid and the account was now in collections. and i had to pay not only the fees but the collection fee as well before i could use it. iafter that i made several attempts to resolve this matter. Note: There is no documentation that says a timeframe that the fees is due by! just says its due on april 1st. but no deadline! Their was no notice to me to say if fees wasnt paid by a said date that it would then definitely go to collections,

    I did not receive my first notice that the acct was even in collections until in june , several weeks after it was in collections, ( i was told it was sent to collections 05/19) by alan sherman( director of call ctr). So you can see that there is a cloud of gray everywhere with this company. The past 3 years i have paid at different times in the latter part of the year for maintenence fees and never had to pay collection fees, and the fees got paid!

    Now they want me to pay $700 or so for maintenence fees and collection fees, when the main. fees is only $464.00 and even then i still lose my week/points! This timeshare i only get to use for 1 week every other year, i pay a annual maintenece fee of $400 plus, and i share the unit with 25 to 50 other owners ( the specific unit)

    That resort may have 150 or more units with 25 to 50 owners per unit all paying each the $400 plus in fees. I want to pay only 2008 maintenence fees and get my week or points back to deposit somewhere else. i dont want to stay there anymore, i have learned my lesson!

    Thank-you so much for being here. I have been devestated.
    I will tell you what happened from the beginning.
    I was on the internet,15th of August 2005 paying some things off ebay, when a pop up appeared saying I had won a prize, being the 1,000,000 customer. I phoned the number displayed and was swept along with a verbal barrage. I was extemely ill at the time and heavily medicated.
    They said a holiday package la la la
    and I could cancel at any time, names
    websites, customer care number and everyone was sweet as pie and encouraging. Could they have my credit card number, don't worry, we are an old established buisness, a wonderful holiday for you and 2 kids free, look at the website etc etc.

    I went along with it.

    As soon as I got off the phone my partner Brett hit the roof because Brett is the only income earner, I lost my job in the beginning of the year because I left for a month to be with my brother in Canada as he was in ICU and not expected to make it.
    He survived thank God but has lost his sight. That is another story!

    We have six children and the whole idea of this holiday package for us is nuts. I was nuts.

    So I contacted the company to cancel, and also contacted my credit card to stop it and cancelled my credit card.
    I did everything correctly and dispite that we got our statement on the 4th of October 2005 and have phoned, every night to get our money back, explained the situation umpteen times, and lately have started to email also, and today I sent a letter in the usual way.
    They never deny that I am entitled to my money returned, but have tried every imaginable method to stop me.
    Now they say they have to have my new credit card number to return my money.
    I said I would be nuts to do that.
    I only recieved the confirmation email on the 20 of September and have never recieved the package in the post with the tickets etc.
    I have never been spoken to nicely since I purchased the "prize". They stall, make up excuses like
    "you have to open the package first"
    "we have changed carriers and they are slow compared to fedex"
    "once you send the package back, we'll refund"

    etc etc.

    The latest conversations have got so nasty with the berating and belittling that I have been in tears and spent the whole day yesterday crying.
    We cannot afford this.
    We never could afford this.
    It was a terrible mistake that I did when I was really ill and heavily medicated.
    My family is suffering because of this silly silly decision I made.
    With our "negotiations" tonight Steve Rice is apparently getting back to me.
    I have only ever had one return call after being promised each of the 26 times I called.

    The one return call I got was from Louis Vargas and he was so rude I couldn't believe it.
