Stayed in Royal Atlantis. Was “upgraded” to room with two doubles in unrenovated West building. Was injured on Rapids when attendant left his station to chat with another worker and six riders all converged at the entry point to the rapids. Staff was less than helpful. Only about half the resort is open at this time. Would strongly suggest seeking another vacation resort option.

Have never stayed at such a rude and dirty resort. The staff must be poorly managed and underpaid because they are almost all rude. You spend 3x the normal prices at other resorts to eat and the wait is 3x as long but not due to the line. The workers are just slow and don’t care. They act like it’s such a big deal if you ask for plates or forks with your $159 lunch.
Upon check in our toilet had urine and blood on the seat, the shower uncleaned, folded towels that had who knows what on them. This was after we waited hours to check in because the room wasn’t ready at the promised 4pm time.. They kept saying they are extra cleaning it for Covid. Counters dirty and mirrors had hand prints. (No extra cleaning done) After a $60 cab ride from the hotel and customs a clean room on time would have been amazing!
The resort booked an excursion for us. Told us to be there at 7. We arrived an hour earlier than anyone else that booked online and weren’t able to do the excursion due to not being on the list. So now to deal with sleepy upset kids and no excursion. I asked to speak to a manager and after waiting on her for an hour I have up. With let downs, dirty rooms, trash on the beach, no recycling and bad attitude employees this is the last resort you’d want to spend money at.

Booked a trip on 5/6. Fully Refundable. First they were supposed to charge a deposit but rather charged the full fee. Sneaky. I cancelled today, 5/9, 3 days later and am told 60-90 days for refund. I advise rep that is nowhere in my booking paperwork so I will give them two weeks before I contact my credit card. They are running some sort of Ponzi scheme to run day to day operations. I understand financial issues due to Covid but they should have updated policies a year ago so people would not be deceived by the “flexible cancellation” and refund policy.

I reserved my trip through Atlantis because they had an offer for Florida residents to stay more than 5 nights and get the 4th night free. I needed to pay the full price upfront which was $1,903.80 (with taxes and resort fees); there was no breakdown about the savings of the 4th night being free. When I checked in, I asked for a breakdown and they informed once I check out they would have the breakdown by night with any additional expenses I may have charged the room.
When I checked out I asked for the breakdown. I was overcharged over $400; breakdown showed just over $1,500 for my total stay. I disputed the overcharge and showed them what I was charged on my Amex. I wanted to speak with the manager to resolve this issue and they only wanted to speak to me over the phone. I was writing notes on the breakdown sheets of the difference in price.
While I was on the phone with the manager the lobby attendant took the breakdown sheet from me and ripped it up & was told by the manager not to give me another copy. They claim the additional charges was having a third person (my 9 yrs old daughter) who was on the reservation to begin with. They find the prices are for 2 per person occupancy and any additional person there's a $75 nightly fee charge. Which wasn't in my contract. They were going to send me a new copy of my reservation contract. I asked them to review my contract when I made the reservation and highlight the fine print. All in all... Atlantis is not worth going... The service is horrible... It's overrated and overpriced. I have made a dispute with Amex.

Just putting this out there for anyone that planned on traveling to Atlantis Hotel & Casino, Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas once they reopen. I am very sensitive to how Covid-19 has affected operations and finances in every industry. However, I am not cool with poor customer service & feels the response of a company speaks volumes. My trip was planned for 3/27. The ONLY reason I cancelled is because the DHS said they weren't prepared to help folks get back to the US if they traveled internationally & got stuck. I contacted Atlantis on 3/25 by phone, and was instructed to email my refund request.
Today is AUGUST 27...I have yet to receive my refund for this trip. It's been over 120 DAYS...a runaround of phone tag & emails without success. Searching this morning for options, it appears that trend has continued for other travelers as well. As much as I love the beach & wanted to visit this resort, Atlantis Nassau will NOT be getting any business from me in the future. I am going to continue to post my experience online and will begin to include email chains until I get a response. Again, I understand the resort suffered losses from Covid-19, but so have I as an individual, and I can really use my money right now.

Hello. I had a similar experience with Atlantis not giving me my money back after they shut down the hotel during my Scheduled stay During Covid Madness in Apr. 2020. I will say that the phones reps were all very nice but I was told I’d get my refund in 90 days but that never happened. So here’s how I got my refund: I waited The 90 days then called them when it didn’t arrive; they told me to wait 10 more days. No refund; I called back; they told me to wait another week; no refund, and on and on. This is July now....was supposed to get refund in June. Finally I called my credit card company and disputed the charges. This worked! Within two days all the money was Refunded back to me on my card and within two weeks I got a confirmation letter from my credit card company notifying me that Atlantis didn’t dispute my disputed charges. Maybe those of you with a similar frustrating experience can try this method. It worked for me. Hope this helps!

On 9 August 2019, my wife and I paid in full for 4 suites in The Reef Atlantis to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary between June 7-12, 2020, with the families of our 3 daughters. We opted for the highest rate, which allowed us to cancel the reservation up to 14 days prior to check-in and get full refund. Due to Covid 19 travel restrictions, we asked Atlantis to cancel our reservations on April 5, 2020 and asked for refund of full amount as per our contract. Despite repeated emails during the past 100 days after the cancellation notice, Atlantis is refusing to let us know the date of the refund.

Rude staff - unwilling to help - don't ruin your stay at the Bahamas by going to the Atlantis. You will be better off going to One of the other resorts! In addition, there is no flexibility in making reservations, fees are incredibly high - not recommended.

Don’t go to The Point restaurants. We did during our recent stay. They served raw chicken tenders to my four year old grandchild. We made out a report and The Royal where we were staying did not even call to find out how the child was. They did not deduct any money or the meal plan for that day. Would not go back again. The staff is disorganized and the restaurant should be shut down.

My best friend and I are currently staying here as I am writing this. We have no hot water. We didn’t have any towels, had to call twice to get them. The whole hotel feels like it’s 20 degrees. And worst of all, I simply go downstairs for a midnight snack to the store to see that it’s closed. Then I get told I can only buy food at Olives (in hotel) where earlier I had spent $100 on a small meal. (Chef was nice though). Also I’m a vegan, so I can’t eat anything there without spending less than $30. This has overall just been annoying. Someone needs to fix this.

Sun was nice...when we saw it. 2 days of rain and no other options there. I am going to warn Buyer Beware!!!! Atlantis was a one and done for my family (and it was relaxing to get away). Room was nice, clean and spacious. Otherwise, cost was ridiculous. $56 for a regular pizza and 3 cans of soda; $80 for 2 soda and 3 sandwiches. You will pay 12% in VAT which is their tax and 15% gratuity on every purchase. Saddest part of it all is their staff doesn't see it. We spoke to an employee who told us their average pay is around $150 per week...yes, that's per week. She told us the 15% gratuity goes into a 'corporate pool' for all of the employees but they don't see it.
A taxi driver told us that the Atlantis employees went on strike about a month ago and Atlantis ownership settled then found loopholes and sent it to court. I can tell you the staff is not pleasant, probably 50/50 and I can totally understand why. As far as the water park, plan on lines and very limited seating anywhere. There are a lot of cruise ships everyday and many come to Atlantis making it very, very crowded. The restaurants are short staffed and let me tell you they work their butts off. Many of the resort staff left when Baha Mar opened for better money and treatment. If you plan on going, look into other places and save a lot of money. No matter what...vacation with family is always nice. Definitely enjoyed time with my kids and mother. Feeling terrible for those that work there.

My husband and I recently visited the Atlantis Resort on October 29th, 2019. We are world traveler and have experienced all types of hotels around the world. Atlantis Bahamas was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. From the moment we walked up to the check in counter to the moment we checked out, Atlantis Resort was a big disappointment.
We arrived to the Atlantis Resort around 11:30ish PM on October 29th, 2019 and were assisted by Adia at the check in desk. Adia was not very friendly. We had to greet her first as we walked up to the check in counter. We had to make small talk with her because she wasn’t saying much to us. She assigned us to a room that should not be given to any guest due to the following reasons below.
The first room we were assigned to had several things wrong with it; dust all over the furniture, mini bar was completely empty, fridge was not working, brownish water coming out of the shower faucet, shower tub did not drain well and water backed up, and there was no cold water, only extremely hot water coming out. There were tools all along the hallway leading to our hotel room.
We called Guest Services and spoke to Elise about the issues. About 30-45 mins later she arranged for a Bellman to move us to a different room. When we got to the new room, the first thing we noticed was there was no soap bar and no bathroom tissue. Luckily the Bellman was still around to assist us with providing these items. By 1:00 AM, we were tired and ready for bed after showering. As we got into bed, we noticed musty smells around us. The musty smell prompted us to look underneath the sheets and discovered hairs all over the sheets and stains on the pillows and bed sheets. We were given a room that did not change the sheets from the previous guests. We called Guest Services again and spoke to Elise about this new issue.
After 15-20 mins wait, she called us back and said a Manager on duty, Jermaine, would come up to inspect the room. About 15 mins later, a different person came up instead of Jermaine. He was the Housekeeping Manager. After thoroughly inspecting the bed, he said he would talk to Jermaine about it and would send someone up to replace the sheets. Another person came in 5 mins later to replace our bed sheets. We finally got to bed around 1:30 AM. Besides the issue of hairs and stains on the bed sheets, there were also hairs on the shower walls and the toilet was filthy with stains running down the outside and around the toilet. The hotel charges a mandatory $10 a day for gratuity/housekeeping tip. We should not have to pay for this due to the lack of cleaning evident in the two rooms we were assigned.
No one called to follow up or apologize to us afterwards about these incidents. We had an 8 night reservation with Atlantis Resort but decided to leave after 2 nights due to the unfriendly staff, filthy rooms and lack of hospitality and professionalism. Visiting Atlantis was a dream of mine for the last 20 years. I finally had an opportunity to visit Atlantis only to be deeply disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Stay away from Atlantis Resort. It’s disgusting and filthy. The staff are unfriendly and rude. They will only pretend to be nice to you if they think they can earn tip/money from you.

We were very disappointed with the service of Atlantis Bahamas. We had stayed previously at the Atlantis in Dubai and we had Amazing service. Upon checking in they had us signed up for too many nights and they were quite busy, so the assistant at the desk confirmed that we would definitely get a refund of the extra night and we would see it on our receipt. Upon checking out we were given the bill by another agent at the desk and the extra night was included. He told us it was a mistake and that he guaranteed that they would refund it to our credit card. We have been fighting with them for over 7 months and they refuse to refund us the money. Now they are willing to give us an extra night stay there for free on our next visit there. After all the frustration we would probably not stay there again. I hope none of you experience such bad customer service as we did.

After what happen with the Hurricane Dorian and that is going on in Bahamas we need to cancel our reservation as we did with the plane tickets without any problem, actually the airline understood and return the money due to the nature of what is happening there. So we called Atlantis and cancel our reservation which they accepted but without any reimbursement and oblige us to lose almost a 2k or we need to call in 2 months to make a new reservation and use it. The rep wasn’t very helpful and don’t give us many options.

We began our adventure in July 2019 and stayed at The Reef. We had an efficiency apt. There was 3 of us and if I had it to do over again I would have paid extra to get a 1 bedroom w/ bath. The staff were very accommodating especially the front desk. We had efficiency kitchen but it was quite limited. It was hard to actually cook a meal, but we could keep things cold, make coffee, warm things. Be prepared to fork out big bucks for meals. The cheapest and probably one of our favorite meals was Marco’s Pizza delivered to the hotel. We made reservations twice at restaurants while we were there but you could probably get away with just walking in without. Our favorite activities was snorkeling the ruins at the Royal Hotel, Dolphin Cay and of course my kids loved the water park. It was a great vacation!

The Atlantis, once known as the king of the Bahamas is not even a prince today. Our 2019 summer vacation was our fourth stay at the Atlantis. When we checked in, our concierge, Aaron was extremely helpful. He assisted us with our bags and was very pleasant. Those at the main front desk were unfriendly but told us that we were VIP. Nakia at the VIP front desk was wonderful! She was friendly and the consummate professional.
Things went downhill from there. 95% of the staff at the Atlantis were unfriendly, a few were downright rude, and we paid too much money for our vacation to be treated that way. We were even treated like criminals by the "pool cop" **, who made a worker actually pull our inner tubes (which we were actually sitting in) out of the lazy river because we didn't have our hotel key card with us. We told him that our hotel key was in our bag at the lockers, but he called security on us anyway. It was embarrassing and extremely upsetting. It was handled so very poorly. He and the other pool cops made us walk in our bare feet on terribly hot cement all the way to the other side of the resort.
In addition, they served the same thing for dinner every night this year. VIP? Yeah, right. We were treated like VIPoo! We will be visiting the new Grand Hyatt Baha Mar hotel if we decide to go back to the Bahamas in the future. You would think that a country that depends on tourism would have an appreciation for its tourists. Shame on you, Atlantis.

This is the worst place for a vacation especially if you are taking kids. One bad customer's service. Two, very very over price. Three, the people there do not appreciate your visit. I had a very stink experience that make me never want to go to these kind of resort again. From the time I checkin, the problem started. They give me a room with one king bed when I booked a room with two queen beds. They say, "Sorry but we have no room with two queen bed available." When ask how they expect me and my husband to sleep with my daughter on the same bed, she say, "We can offer you a cot." I had no choice so we had to take it. Going into the room was a mistake.
The room was stink. I found a false fingernail on the bed like they never change the sheets. It just got smooth and they never see the last guest left her nail behind. They were no toilet paper. Their service was a big joke. I call for them to come take a look at the room. No one never come until 830 pm. I loss a whole day trying to get settle in. I had to speak to the manager at some point to get help.
The second night we went to the casino, well that’s a whole big story by itself. I took pictures. I will see if I can upload them. They had some kind of issue. I can’t say why but no one could have get their money from the machines. I try to cash out $$558, it took my 4 hours before someone came to get me. This is after I ask like 10 different employees in about 100 times for help. When she came and write up some numbers, I think I will get me money. She say, "Come with Me by the cashier." Well well!!! When I got there it was like 200 people all very angry and yelling. I was just another one to join in. Bad. Very bad.
I did got pair like 530 am. I spent five night there. Nothing happened. No one even say sorry for the inconvenience, but soon as I got back to Canada I got an email that say they will give me 200! In free play for the inconvenience that too place on July 22nd 2019, so I was wondering, why wait until I came back. Why did they not give it to me when I was there? It all a frigging scam, to get me there again, not forgetting that when I got there the room was not ready so I had to leave my luggage at the bell service, and when I got to the room it took another two hours for my luggage to arrived, then the small suitcase was missing with all our swimming stuff.
I reported it. They took me to the back where all luggage is kept but it was not there. They say they will look into it. I went there everyday and got the same answer. I had to leave and never got my bag. I fill some form that was supposed to tell them what in it and how much it cost but no one ever even contact me about it. I ask front desk why there is not a fridge in the room. She say they will send one right got away. lol I did got it right away. I said to my family, "Wow. We finally got something quick." But when I was checking out there was a $84 on my bill extra. When I ask what is that for they say I rented a fridge. I can keep going on but I will stop here. Too much to type, ALL I WANT TO GET OUT THERE IS!!!! Do not go to this resort. It is insane.

In a nutshell The Royal added almost another $1000 to my stay because I was told and I quote "We can Bill what we want to bill." The front desk was useless and I have to eat the additional charges. This was the worst vacation my wife and I have experienced from a customer service, safety and room standards standpoint. My wife was injured in the gym the first day and we spent 6 hours in the hospital. Apparently this was not the first time someone was injured in the gym with at least one other similar incident where someone was badly hurt the same exact way. We received a call by Miguel while in the hospital which was the highlight of their customer service although we never actually spoke to him. The nurse said he would send transportation to pick us up from the hospital.
I called him 3 or 4 times and was unable to leave a message. We coordinated a taxi from the hospital that was supposed to show up in 10 minutes and we followed up with them again and the hospital said 5 more minutes and we waited another 15 minutes then walked back to the resort. We got back to the resort and 2 of the 5 stitches came undone and she went back to the hospital. I spoke to a manager in the reception area and asked her to have someone give me a call and gave her my cell phone number (I was frustrated but kept my poise) which never happened..
The next day my wife talked with a different manager in reception that was supposed to call me by 3:00 and that never happened either. So I went back to the reception the 3rd time and requested a meeting with one of the higher up managers and it was confirmed at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the departure. I specifically requested someone that worked for Atlantis/Cove in an upper management position. Instead she setup a meeting with a trainer who worked at the fitness facility which is leased by another company. Not only was he a trainer but he was not even employed by the hotel. I was assured someone would call me over the course of 3 days but not one phone call outside of the call from Miguel made when he left a message from the hospital.
Regarding the quality of the room amenities: safe worked at times (we were locked out an entire day before it was fixed), the phone didn't work half the time we were there, the clock was set for 3 hours ahead and couldn't be changed to the correct time, locked out of the mini-bar, minibar wasn't refilled 2 days, room wasn't cleaned (beds made, trash taken out nothing else). There was an salad that was never eaten from the first day and a few glasses in the living room that were never taken out of the room.... This was by far the worst vacation of our life and I would NOT RECOMMEND anyone go to this hotel!!!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

After returning home and dissecting my bills, I paid roughly $235 more than I should have just to get out of there and never look back. Unless you plan to spend your night in the bar or casino, everything closes at 7 pm. Bottom line, the worst trip we have ever taken! We took our 3 teenage boys to Atlantis, Royal Towers from March 14 to 17, 2019. Our complaints were too numerous to mention, but #1 had to be the outrageous spring break partying carrying on in the corridors and rooms around us until 4 or 5 am each morning. Impossible to sleep and countless visits and calls to the front desk yielded empty promises that security would address the issue. Restaurants were ridiculously overpriced and food to moderate to poor. Ditto with trying to buy things from the stores or get a drink at the bar. ($22 for a mediocre glass of wine!!)
The rooms are run down - balcony door was impossible to slide open, water pressure non-existent, plug sockets didn't work etc. The beach (overrun by drunk teens) was the furthest thing from relaxing... Every few minutes we were being asked to buy cigars/coconut drinks/bracelets/sarongs/adventure experiences. I had been to Atlantis 10 years ago, so much has changed... Check in is ridiculous, stand in a line for 45 minutes just to check-in when you've already paid, months earlier, and find that the 2 rooms adjoining are in different buildings. At that point you are directed to another line across the lobby. Another 45 minute wait to find there is nothing they can do about it. After calling and stopping by multiple times the following day they were able to move our son the the same building 14 floor away with a different entrance. The restaurants are very mediocre at best, but their prices are 2 to 3 times more than equivalent restaurants of the same quality in the US. The VAT value added tax is a farce. There is no added value anywhere at Paradise Island or Nassau for that matter.
We have been coming prior to it being named the Atlantis, well over 20 years, but we will not be back. The Atlantis and Nassau have removed any interest in returning. My son left a hoodie, a gift from someone special to him, in the room. We called within an hour of checking out and they said the housekeeper didn't find it. I entered a lost and found request online 3 separate times and received nothing.
