First night my wife got food poisoning from conch salad. We left a day early. Atlantis has refused any credit. Turns out they had an epidemic in the summer. Still served conch. Mixed drinks $16.00. It's not being kept up. Not worth the money.

6 night visit as a couple in our late 50's - I have been reading quite a few negative reviews and they should be considered and taken into account when planning for the trip. We had many more positives than negatives but I will share the negatives first. The food is very expensive. About 150% to 200% higher than at home. Night activity is available but most things can be quite expensive. Comedy Shows, bars, dining out all help empty your wallet. We stayed in the Royal Tower (would recommend it) and the water did alternate every 5 or 6 seconds by about 40 degrees (would go from warm to very hot). But that was the worst thing we encountered. One final note is that the ocean beach is not the best and does not compare with other islands. But it is fine to go and hang out to enjoy the waves. Do not expect too much and you will be fine.
Here is our experience overall. We went at the end of January, so it was off season. We had a taxi from the airport and that cost about $50 (would have been nice to have a shuttle but I would not complain about that). The drivers were nice both ways. Check in had no line so that was very brief and the woman that checked us in was very sweet (Tremaine). We asked for an upper floor and she gave us a room on the 20th floor with a beautiful ocean view. It was beautiful! Bellmen were available but we chose to not use them. We walked the grounds that first night to learn our way around and the site is beautiful. Bring comfortable walking shoes. You will walk miles in one day but it is worth the walk.
Our days were pretty much the same: we hung out by the pool and hot tub. By the way, the hot tub gets loaded with little children, so go as soon as it opens. We cooled off riding the lazy river, rapid river (not too rapid and lots of fun) and some of the other water slides. There are spots with music playing, other spots with some nice singing and areas where it is quiet. lots of choices available. As for food, we packed quite a bit for in our room. Brought things from home, so we can have small meals and not spend on lunch. But we would sometimes split a wrap or a burger and fries. One burger with fries and a small drink cost $18. So, if you have a family of 4 it can get pricey.
One thing to note, the food is marked up about 30% from the listed price due to the added tip and resort fee. So a $15 burger is $18. Just remember that when ordering. We drank the coffee that we can make in our room and that was fine for us. But there are a number of Starbucks where one can get coffee as well as other locations. One can even walk off property to the nearby Dunkin' Donuts and get less expensive breakfast stuff. There is a liquor store nearby and you can make drinks in your room. Okay, this is getting long winded, so I will try to wrap it up.
We left the pool area around 5 and showered. Went out for dinner and that is where we spent money. Even if you go pretty cheap, it will cost anywhere between $40 to $70 for a meal with no drinks. Of course if you get steak, it is much more pricey. I suggest you spend part of the first day at the marina area and look at the menus of the restaurants. It is a great place to eat. We bought a large pizza there and only spent $42 (lol). But there are things that are more reasonable. You just need to learn what is available.
Evening activities can be simple and free. Walk around and enjoy the beauty and the free singers and have a couple drinks (about $20 each). Things can add up so be careful! All in all, it is very much worth the experience. The kids will love the day activities and love the rides and pools. In the evening, you can tour the free aquariums and take your time looking the place over. The dolphin area is great but it costs $18 per person just to hang out at that beach. To pet and hug dolphins is about $160 per person and needless to say, that will add up quickly. I say go for a vacation there with plenty of fun and healthy snacks and that way you can save quite a bit on food. The view from the rooms can be breathtaking and you will love it. Lots of tropical plants and beautiful fountains. They really put a lot of money into the surroundings. That is it and I hope you love my book.

We checked in they said we didn't have a meal plan, and did nothing to help us with it. We were lied to on the phone. We didn't give us a room key or a map or the free items we were to get. When the snow storm was coming we asked if we could check out a day early they said no refunds. They were not very good with customer service at all. No one. Otherwise the place was beautiful and we made the best of it. We didn't eat dinner 2 nights cause we didn't want to pay their outrageous prices to eat since we had no meal plan like we thought we did.

We stayed in the Coral Tower. Our room was good with a great view of the pool and ocean. All of the staff that we encountered were courteous and anxious to help! Especially those working outside... in all areas. The food and drinks were way overpriced but we knew that going in. The property is beautifully manicured and we enjoyed daily walks from one end of the property to the other. The pools and lazy rivers were great. The beach experience has a lot to be desired. I know that the aquatic life is marketed to the public as doing the best for the ecosystem, I agree with other reviewers that the sharks, fish, rays, and turtles on the property are in much too shallow water in much too small a spaces. They say that the rays are released when full grown, but there were several large rays in the lagoons. Are they fed properly? I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and the animals are my only concern.

When we checked in the staff behind the desk were rude and incompetent! We got 3 different quotes on the Meal Plan! No Smiles or Island kindness! Housekeeping and grounds staff were cheerful and helpful! Then our room had things broken! TV and hairdryer would not work! I felt like things had gone downhill from my stay 2 years ago!

Over a 2 hour wait to check in... Rooms are very, very basic but did have a mini fridge. I got 2 rooms through the reservation line 1 year ago. I check in and they were on different floors at opposite ends of the building. I was told check-in is at 4 and that's why. I got there at 3 and had to wait in line until 5 to check in because they are so slow. The TV didn't work either. No water pressure or warm water. I will not ever come to Atlantis or the Bahamas again. I paid lots of money for a place like this. I wish I could get a refund!!! $700 a night for a room in a 3rd rate motel attached to a 1st rate water park.

Let me preface but saying that I've stayed at the Atlantis multiple times over the years and every other experience was wonderful. I, however, will no longer be going back after our last stay. We went as a family Christmas in December of 2018. It's my opinion from what I saw that there needs to be some serious changes in management before the Atlantis really falls apart. It appears to me that they are not taking any of the money they are making and putting it back into the resort but instead must be pocketing everything. There is paint chipping, rooms and carpets smell terrible, everything just needs a deep clean and new facelift. The food is insanely overpriced as well as the drinks. Some of the employees were kind and helpful but a lot of them were rude and condescending.
Here are a few examples of the issues we encountered on our stay: Problems with accommodations - 2 of the villas we stayed in didn't have air conditioning. 1 of the villas flooded one night while we were at dinner. 1 of the villas had brown water pouring from the shower one of the days. The TVs in 2 of the villas quit working halfway through the trip. The phones didn't work in 2 of the villas. There was no fridge in 1 of the villas.
Problems with employees - I went to one of the public bathrooms while at the pool one afternoon. There was a line with 3 women in it. An employee walked in with her pants unbuttoned and unfastened and walked in front of the women waiting in line and used the restroom. One of the employees working a food cart/bar saw us coming and ran to the other side of the bar and got on her phone and pretended like she couldn't see us.
Here was the real kicker... My mother who is 60+ years old was walking through the lobby to go to dinner. She slipped on a banana peel (seriously) that was laying in the walkway. An employee stopped to ask if she was ok. My mom replied no, she had just had knee surgery and was in pain and covered in something sticky. She needed help up... the employee by the name of Quincia, told her to just lay there for a while to see if she felt better and then walked off. The rest of the family came through soon thereafter and found my mom in pain on the ground.
Lastly, my husband had $50 stolen from his wallet while we were at dinner one night. It was not the entire amount of cash that he had in his wallet but $50 was definitely taken. The next day, my husband and I decided to stay in the room for dinner because I wasn't feeling well. We got a knock on our door which confused me because the rest of the family was at dinner. When we didn't respond or answer the door, an employee opened the door and let herself in. She was shocked when she saw us in there and stated that she was there for a drink service? We were confused and she rushed out of the room.
We called the front desk and they informed us that there is no reason for housekeeping to be in our room at 7:00 at night. My parents were on the other side of the building opened their door to see the woman going into their neighbor's room. They told her that they were at dinner and the woman immediately turned and left.

The trip was upsetting to myself and my older children who are knowledge about good animal husbandry. We’d read all about the marine conservation and education programs prior to our visit, only to discover a roadside zoo on arrival. The tanks were filthy, overcrowded and several aquatic animals were visibly ill due to unsanitary conditions. Many animals swam in circles showing signs of distress. We were told by staff that all the animals were there permanently except the Manta ray(s) which were released when they outgrew their tank and then they would release the ray and capture a new one from the wild! Taking a closer look around, we noticed that everything was filthy and poorly maintained. What is sold as an upscale resort with a conservation arm is nothing more than a middle tier water park with an overcrowded, poorly maintained marine zoo.
Additionally, we lost power our second day, for nearly two hours. Power outages are not uncommon I understand. What was concerning was that the hallways and stairwells had no emergency lighting. I climbed 16 flights down to alert staff that people were stuck in the elevator, in total darkness, and the response I got was not much more than a “yeah we know”. I didn’t feel safe after that. I would never go back.

I stayed at the Cove for 6 days. The service at the restaurants is deplorable. It does no good to complain because no one cares. Room service entered our room without any notice and stole $20. The hotel is overcharging for the extra person and the VAT tax. I even have emails showing what they should be charging and as I said before no one cares. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Paid $500 for dinner for 7 people and was treated like **. After going around for a long time in Atlantis to find a place to eat (many restaurants were closed) we thought we finally found a nice buffet to celebrate a birthday. Before we entered the restaurant called Poseidon's Table, we paid the bill upfront - this is the only way to get in - and had dinner afterwards. Alcohol was not included and we had a red wine. Just when we finished a waiter came and started bringing the bill for the wine and for the food (again??!). We told him that we already paid for the food but happy to pay for the wine. He said we have to show the bill of the food. The person who had the bill was just at the restroom at the time so we started to explain that we already paid.
The waiter insisted we have to show him the bill and made us feel like we are thieves as we had to go all the way up to the entrance and explain ourselves and get the bill double checked at the cashier. When they realized we paid already, they did not even say sorry. I called for the manager and the only thing he did was to say that the waiter misunderstood the situation. No apologies and no compensation. He said that they can call the police if I want to further pursue. (??!) What kind of customer service is this? And how is it my problem that they miscommunicate and why do I have to explain myself after paying $500? The restaurant was not even close to busy. How can they not keep their things together? Overall TERRIBLE SERVICE! AVOID this place!

I have traveled the world over many times and never had problems really worth mentioning. But this hotel is the most corrupt I've ever been to. The total price I was suppose to pay from booking.com was $2127.11 Every day there they had so many hidden charges mentioned apparently to booking.com as to boggle the mind. By the time I left, they increased the charge over $2,000.00 dollars which I trigger to dispute but to no avail. They hold security deposits in the sum of anywhere between 200-400 a day which gets held on your credit card. When I checked out, they had a total held on my credit card of 5,000.00.
Mind you I paid 1500.00 of the original 2127.11 before I even arrived so you can imagine my dismay. I'm not sure to be mad at Booking.com (whom I have booked trips probably a hundred times) or Atlantis, but the fact they even hold on your credit card daily hundreds of dollars is quite obscene. Most of the people there are not professionals you would expect if you are from the US or Europe. Highly suggest you do not go to this corrupt place. You will leave calculating you owe a few hundred, and they will place thousands on you that you were not expecting, and most of it is very suspicious. Every taxi driver tried to get "more" by bloating the price from what they quoted. It is the most corrupt places I have ever been in my life.

My wife and I have concluded after being at the Atlantis for 5 days with 3 kids and staying in the Royal towers that we were highly disappointed with our trip wanting more quality in every aspect of the stay - hopefully this review will help all those looking to travel to this overly hyped resort. If you're traveling with children esp toddlers prepare yourself to WALK everywhere in the heat and up and down stairs all over the resort - it’s amazing how far everything is from each other here and makes even just getting to the beach a huge frustration! (Travel tip the nicest beach at Atlantis is tucked away behind the Cove area). The resort is INSANELY EXPENSIVE!!! Take that very seriously esp if you're bringing children!!! And the fact that most probably don’t do the all inclusive (which I don’t even know if they have there or not) you will literally pay as much in food and or excursions as you did to for the entire purchase price of the trip itself!!!
The food is terrible!!! I mean for what you're paying for each meal it’s absolutely crazy to think this resort and as Big it is and all the restaurants can’t satisfy your food needs - once again with children who are picky this will be a huge issue - and let’s say you don’t want to go to the restaurants for each meal of the day then you're pretty much screwed because there is only a small coffee shop or pizzeria on other side of hotel to choose from (we literally ate pizza, hamburgers, egg and cheese and bagels the whole trip). If it rains or you get too much sun there is literally nothing to do inside the resort for the whole family - yes they have a mini arcade and Game Center but that’s extra fees and not worth it unless you want to pay and even then there is nothing to do adult wise unless you want to sit at the bar.
Staff and miscommunication is huge - some staff doesn’t show up on time for bookings (excursions desk). We waited 45m with a line of people for them to send us to VIP lounge for them to tell us everything was booked and the systems went down shortly after that, then we went back to excursions desk to find out everything was not sold out and their systems worked fine - total time to book dolphins was 1.5hrs of frustration. Then there was the problem of them screwing up our shuttle back to airport. We spoke to 5 people and 1 manager who couldn’t find our shuttle company (unless you get voucher upon arrival it’s impossible to figure this out) and we were left with someone telling us to be done in lobby at 6am - it was pitch black and no shuttle came - we had to take a cab out of our own money back to airport.
Dolphin Cay was the most expensive for 5 people we did and we only did a 30 min shallow experience (was just ok our toddler enjoyed it). But then they try and get you on photos which you're lucky if one comes out good. Prepare to pay for photos though as you can’t just get 1 4x6 - you have to get 6 of them!!! Also you have to settle for an 8x10 if you only want one photo.
Overall we wouldn’t go back for the sake of all the above - the one bright spot is the beach and water which is literally world renowned (the water quality and temp is so amazing that we kept trekking back to beach for it) - but again prepare yourself with going broke, walking and being exhausted and then paying more money to keep the kids busy and happy. We’ve been to other countries and resorts and this one def was a rip off...

My kids and I were very excited about going to Atlantis Bahamas as we had such a lovely time at Atlantis in Dubai last year. Unfortunately, my girls were robbed on the beach the first day (middle of the afternoon mind you) and when we notified management at the hotel, she told me she couldn't do anything for me. Then she stated that we needed to go the police station, which is offsite. They wouldn't even call the police for us. Now, here we are in a different country and were just robbed (they took my girls' sunglasses, shoes and cash totaling over $1K), but we are now told to go to a police station offsite. Sounds even more dangerous to me, so I decided I would handle the situation after we returned home. Then, when we went to check out and pick up our luggage to go the airport we find out the bell staff gave our luggage to someone else. I am standing there with the ticket to claim my luggage, but it has disappeared... Really?
At this point my girls are beside themselves, so I ask them to go over and wait while I talk with management about the situation. Again, the hotel took no responsibility. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I did however give them 1 star as the spa staff was amazing and very trustworthy. The rest of the group should be fired and the entire hotel restaffed after full background checks are done. Beware of this hotel... They steal and put you and your children in dangerous situations. They do not care about your safety at all. Stay safe out there.

Booked 2 rooms and after long day of flight and roaming around resort came back to room and as soon as my son who is 22 goes under his quilt...his whole bed sheets, quilt, pillows were all wet and it seemed it was pee or something. Soooo disgusted about it. Housekeeping came, changed sheets, FLIPPED mattress because it was so wet. As I am writing about it I don’t want to sleep in my bed soon. Disgusted about it. Is it safe to drink coffee or use towels? All I got was SORRY!!! What sorry??? We are still here for 4 nights but I am very very mad. I went to main lobby to talk to manager and GUESS what this resort is run without manager which was not here yet and other one already left. It’s 11 pm and I don’t want to lay in my bed! I give this resort ZERO! Not happy after paying tons of money and booked 2 rooms. Who else can I contact??? Anyone?

This is truly a beautiful amazing resort. We have been traveling to the Atlantis for 10 years. I hate to hear it put down. They have wonderful programs for children and youth and we have had the pleasure of getting to know several staff due to our frequent visits. Yes, check your bill as you would any hotel. You can check it daily on your TV and if there is a discrepancy go and get it adjusted. We love this property and the staff and have stayed with them in all different accommodations 10 times. As for the person complaining about the size of the hole in the water slide tube... They are standard tubes... Maybe they should be looking at their size instead and wondering if they need to do a little adjusting! All smiles aside, we love this resort! Don't be discouraged by the complainers!

I was there, I had to ID her body. Sister died in her room about a month and a half ago at the Atlantis Hotel, Nassau. She booked tickets the day before she vanished, to swim with the dolphins, she was extremely excited about this (voice messages etc), the next day she did not show up for the booking (swim with the dolphins, shallow water experience) made less than 24hrs earlier, subsequently she was found dead... apparently killed herself. Take what you wish from the above (I may not elaborate)...

Watch out! Check your credit card/room charges very carefully. On my check out day, they charged us $666 for a meal at Chopstix - and it did not belong to us as at the same time and date, we were dining at another restaurant on the property. I stood in line at the front desk to have the Chopstix charge removed and the folio was corrected and I caught my plane home. Now, 15 days since my trip, they are attempting to charge my credit card for the $666 meal we never ate!!! I am outraged! I called and spoke with "Gabriella" who claims they will look into it. What a scam! I called my credit card company and they are putting a stop to it. Apparently, Atlantis Resort is famous for this behavior!

Don’t believe your final bill at check out, charges you didn’t agree to will keep coming. I currently have disputes into my bank and credit card company from this resort. They're crooks and liars, I disputed charges at check out, was told they were removed from my bill. I received an amended bill with an agreed upon total. After I left the resort the amount they agreed to remove from my final bill were charged without my authorization to my card, this is fraud. You can’t trust the staff, the staff is rude, the pool staff puts their personal items in chairs to make it appear the chairs are taken. Then they spot you looking for chairs and offer the ones they put their belongings in for money, this is extortion. The rooms are dated and in desperate need of repair.
Our tub didn’t hold water, the sink didn’t drain, glass was falling out of picture frames, picture frames were rusting. I was screamed at in front of my son on our first day there by an attendant at a pool area with a pay to sit area. We simply wanted to see if this was an area we wanted to pay $125 a day to sit. We walked into the area and the attendant started screaming, "This is private, you have to pay to sit here." I tried to explain we simply wanted to see if this was an area we wanted to pay to use, and she screamed at us again. I finally bluntly said, "Money isn’t the issue here, your hostility toward us is," and we left.
I was called a liar twice by staff when I tried to say an order was incorrect. They catch you by not giving you an itemized receipt of what you order at the bars, coffee shops, restaurants and pool eating places. You then pay for it and wait for them to deliver what you ordered. If it’s wrong they ask for your receipt and tell you it doesn’t say you ordered that, therefore you’re wrong, and they refuse to refund or make the order correct. I had this happen 5 times in a week, and they still collect their automatic 15% tip, and your money while you’re left without what you asked for.
Please beware of the Atlantis Bahamas, go elsewhere to a resort in the Bahamas that’s nicer, more updated, clean, has better staff and where you won’t be ripped off. I tried to get our flights changed so we could leave early but we were stuck at the Atlantis because flights were full and our tickets couldn’t be changed. If they could have been changed we would have left on Monday after just checking in on Saturday late afternoon. Buyer beware and avoid this trap like the plague.

The bathroom was not clean. I realized the last day of our stay that the sheets had not been laundered. The grounds and hotel common areas were dirty, just like the rooms. Now we are left to deal with bed bugs in our home. PURE DISGUST. DO NOT WASTE YOUR VACATION TIME OR MONEY ON THIS DUMP. IT'S TRULY A DUMP.

I have been going to Nassau several times a year for over 20 years and have stayed at a number of hotels, most recently Atlantis. I find the staff at the hotel to be very accommodating, courteous and pleasant to deal with and the hotel complex itself is exquisite. Yes, it is busy and often crowded, which is more a testament to its success than any failure. I had always wanted to go to Atlantis. The main reason was I enjoy the river rides and snorkeling. Both were a major disappointment. You can’t really call it snorkeling when you have to stay in a sandy beach area where there are no fish coral or anything except sand. That was a total waste. I have done river rides at other locations and really enjoyed them. I was planning on doing that most of the day, however, after trying to sit in one of their inner tubes and finding it almost impossible to control I only wound up doing two trips.
The tubes are overinflated and have a tiny hole in the middle not more than 1 foot in diameter so you cannot sit down “in” the tube. You have to hold your head and shoulders above the water the entire time. It was ridiculously uncomfortable, and I have done these rides in the past. We sat on the side and watched person after person try and sit in one of these tubes and get dumped out. We spent most of the day drinking expensive drinks and eating expensive food. I could’ve done that anywhere.

Just got back from Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. Overpriced EVERYTHING!! We had 3 rooms in the Beaches tower. The view we had was a “Terrace view”. Sounds ok, right? It was anything BUT!! Our view was of the roof of the conference center complete with condoms and beer bottles! They shouldn't charge the same for these rooms as the other. What a gross thing to wake up to. Then there was the black mold in the bathroom... GROSS! When we called the front desk, no one answered even after several attempts. We finally went down and found a real person but they only promised they would “take care of it”, which didnt happen.
The park was beautiful but be prepared to walk miles and miles every day. Park closes up completely at 5:00PM sharp. No bathrooms open anywhere on the hike back to the room so make that pit stop before 4:45 or risk the ocean or bushes! Many of the water rides were not working at least once or twice per day due to maintenance so we missed out even getting to try them. Instead of floating blissfully around and around on the raging river, they made you get off your tube, let it float off while you got out and walked across the sunbathing area to get back in the water to a line at least 40 people deep to wait and get another tube. Ridiculous!!
There were signs at all the snack bars to go “cashless” and charge stuff to your room (which required a $600 deposit on check in)! It seemed like a good idea but upon check out, there were $640 in charges that weren't ours. Tip to self, keep ALL of your receipts no matter how small. We did that and they begrudgingly said they would refund our money but that would take a couple weeks!! All in all we had fun but probably wont go through the hassle again and just go to Key West! Not worth the money!!

My daughter and I went to the Atlantis with friends on 2/8/18. She is 24 and was excited to go. We went on the rapid river. In a tube with feet, arms & head hanging over. It rapidly slams you against the concrete wall. I saw a potential for injury. I was screaming, "Pull your legs in... you're going to get hurt." My daughter and friend thought I was overreacting. I went to the bathroom. Lady was full of blood. She was scraped and was flipped in the river. Another lady was flipped and scraped her toes, my friend scraped his knees and pulled his back out.
There has been a child that has been killed. There needs to be a bigger and heavier tube with a bottom where you can sit in and bump against wall. It is extremely dangerous. Please do not put your children on this. How dare the Atlantis knowingly subjects people to injury/death. Also the water slide that goes through the aquarium of sharks is full of slime. There was actually a trail through the slime of people's butt cleaning it off. You couldn't see through the tank because of the slime. That flows into the pool. It is a health risk. Someone needs to close this place down.

It is rare that I leave a negative review, but this experience deserves one and I hope it serves as a caution to others. I need to start by saying that my wife has been wanting to book a vacation at this resort for some time so we thought that while we were in Nassau on our cruise a day pass would be a great way to "try it before we buy it". The purchase of the tickets was very easy and the directions clear as to what we were to do when we got to the resort. Getting a taxi from the cruise terminal was not difficult and it was quick to get to the resort. From there, unfortunately, the day trip quickly descended into purgatory. When we got in line to get our bracelets we discovered that you had to be 48 inches tall to ride most of the slides in the park.
Since our young son is not that tall he was disappointed. Maybe the height requirement was in the paperwork and I missed it (in that case I take the blame) but I certainly don't remember seeing it so be forewarned. The young lady at the ticket window greeted us with "Tickets?" which should have foreshadowed the customer experience of this resort. We got our bracelets and she dismissed us with "Go in the door, through the casino, turn right and follow the crowd". These proved to be less than helpful directions. We came to the resort in our regular clothes and without towels (these are included in the ticket price) so our first mission was to find a place to change and get a towel. When we made it through the casino to the outside we asked the first staff member for directions.
I want to be fair so I will just say he was not very helpful or friendly. With almost every staff member we encountered it was as if we were bothering them by asking for help. It was VERY frustrating. We were eventually able to find the place where towels were distributed (it is not marked on a map or by interresort signage) and they were out of towels! Really? You didn't notice they were getting low and call to get more? There were three young ladies standing behind the towel desk talking with one another. I asked them when they thought more might arrive and one said "Who knows, we called". So I asked if there was another place we might get towels and she said "Up there" and pointed in the general direction of the water park. Not helpful. Through no help of staff (I just started asking other guests) we eventually found another towel station and were able to get towels.
The final insult was lunch. We went to one of the outdoor sit down restaurants. The hostess seemed offended that we were in her restaurant but got us a table. The one staff bright spot was our waitress. She was very friendly and diligent. The food and drinks were what you would expect in terms of quality for an outdoor waterpark restaurant (we weren't expecting a 5 star meal). Our waitress brought us the bill at the end of the meal and I told her I thought it was included in our "Atlantis Aquaventure with Lunch" ticket price. She went to speak with her manager and she informed us that it was not included. At this point I figured if I said anything I would explode in a fit of rage so I thanked her for her service and told her I would address it when I returned home (this review being the first part). We left shortly after this as the weather turned very bad. I can assure you, I will never, EVER return.

We have had nothing but issues since arriving. We started at the Coral tower and it was a joke. The whole place smelled and the room was gross. The room wasn't even ready when we got in and we had to call a maid to get our bedding. The tv didn't work and one of the main lights didn't work. Thankfully the bathroom ceiling started leaking so they upgraded us to the Royal Tower. It's definitely an upgrade but we are still having issues. The toilet overflowed the first time we used it, the bathroom has a vanity light out and also the lights are filthy and we have to unplug the light next to the table to make coffee because only one outlet works. The hallway is freezing and the ice machine doesn't work.
Now I'm sitting here on Saturday night writing this review because we have no hot water to shower. How does a place this large not have hot water all of a sudden? We have spent an arm and a leg with all the price gouging (beware the $4 room service charge and 19% forced tip) and the hotel has been a complete disappointment. I could go on for another hour about the water park and beaches but I think you get the gist. We have definitely made memories here but I wish we would have booked somewhere nicer.

We are currently staying at the hotel and leave tomorrow. We booked the Beach Tower because it was on the cheaper side and knowing the food is expensive and since we weren't going to be in the room all of the time we thought it would be OK. Well we were wrong. After we checked in we walked a mile just to get to the room. The room was outdated but the worst part was it reeked of cigarette smoke. There were burn marks on the phone and nightstand. We called to complain and were told there were no rooms available at that time so we had to leave our stuff in the room until a new one was ready. Mind you the whole floor was supposed to be nonsmoking.
We went back downstairs and spoke to the guy that checked us in originally and told him our complaints. He told us there were no rooms ready in the Beach Tower but he would "upgrade" us to the Coral Tower. We thought this was fantastic until we entered our room. Let me describe the room. Nasty green carpet from when the hotel was built, 1990's. The furniture I don't think was ever updated. The best part of it all was the decoration pillow on the bed was so dirty I cannot believe they even put it on the bed to begin with. The table and chairs were so dirty that I didn't want to sit on them. There were dirt marks all over it. The hallway of the hotel was leaking water because of the rain.
Maybe the towers that cost more are updated but I will say I will NEVER stay here again. The food is overpriced. For example 2 slices of cheese pizza and 1 can of soda was 20$. Horrible selection of food since 90% of the restaurants were closed. Also all over the hotel you saw signs for happy hour at the Moon Bar from 5-7. We went to the Moon Bar and of course that was closed too. I understand if not in season things may be closed but don't display everywhere all over the hotel a happy hour DAILY and not open. One of the worst vacations I've been on. Hotel needs MAJOR updating or it will end up going out of business since the new BAHA MAR opened up.

My family and I went to the Atlantis at Paradise Island, Bahamas from 8/26-8/31/17. Be prepared to spend a lot. For 2 adults and 1 child, most of the time skipping a meal, we spent $1177 for food. I expected this not being an all inclusive. What I did not expect, was my credit card being charged for what is totaling $550 AFTER we left... They automatically charge a 15% gratuity to everything and they give poor rude service then get worse after you don't give extra.

So disappointed, we were recommended to stay at the Cove, considering the high cost we thought it should be a great property, 97% of the staff are extremely rude, they were all unhappy and treated us so poorly, and we learned from others the same. Everything was an average standards and very expensive, food quality was poor except one Italian restaurant, we were supposed to get $250 credit for each room, even though I showed them the confirmation proof, they still did not honor it and gave us partial credit. Water park is very unsafe. Most disappointing aspect was the service and impoliteness of the staff. We heard since Marriott took over the quality and service went down tremendously. Will never go back.

2nd trip to Atlantis was a disappointment. Spent 6 days in the Atlantis Resort in August 2017. We expected so much more than we experienced. Communication between hotel staff and guests was terrible! Very confusing where you can use cc or room key and where only cash is accepted. Taxis only take cash. If you use cc to pay for drinks & food on resort, it will not be applied to any resort credit! So beware. Rooms & decor need updating. Paint in the hallways & rooms is outdated! We had a hard time opening & closing the blinds in our bedroom because the track was rusted. Our coffee station in the room was not replenished after the 2nd night! Every morning we were woken up from the housekeepers slamming room doors as they did their morning runs.
We had a hard time finding good eats! Starbucks was our morning ritual since it was located in our tower. Our favorite restaurant was Cafe Matisse! The service, food and ambiance were all fabulous! The manager even took care of our cab fare back to resort, when were told by driver that only cash was accepted yet, hotel bell personnel told us otherwise that evening! Pool and water activities were fun! Too much food & garbage lying around attracted lots of pigeons! Pool staff was scarce, especially when we wanted to order food & drinks! Beach was amazing! So beautiful! The locals were a pleasure to meet and chat with. Beach chairs were free of charge, umbrellas were $30 for the day. I do not recommend Atlantis. Was a simple disappointment.

Certain parts of the hotel the roof was falling apart. You can tell hotel needed work. We paid $42.00 per person to see their aquarium - which was a joke! The aquarium was murky and the water was not clean. I'm truly surprised that the hotel is not keeping up with aquarium. You could hardly see the fish in the dirty tank. It was supposed to be a 40 minute aquarium time - we finished in 15 min. What a waste of money! Will not be coming back here again. That is for sure!!!

I am writing this review as I am still here at the resort. I am hoping to help someone make a decision about spending a couple grand on a vacation. First of all, you’re probably like everyone else, you have this idea of a paradise island. But upon landing you see your first clue flying low over dilapidated homes. Your ride in shows you that the Bahamas is in need of financial help. You see a few small strip mall types places that remind you of foreclosed homes. Finally after several round abouts with a driver who seems not too friendly you go over a bridge to the ATLANTIS. I chose the cheapest hotel, beach tower. If you have to come choose a different hotel. Period. Reef. Cove. Royal. I think that had a lot to do with my not so great experience. My mistake but damn, it's still 1500 for four nights.
The room was not sooo great. Slightly musty, low pressure shower with some mold slightly showing. Outdated. And small. But that's wasn't the bad part. The beaches have quite a bit of trash on them. The sand is beautiful, but the straws sticking out and yesterday's party trash kinda takes away from the beauty. I'll try the other beaches tomorrow. The pools and lazy river ehhhh. Whole resort seems like it needs a renovation. The prices of things on the resort... ugh... like 1 yogurt was 5.35. Everything in the resort is marked up 250%. Like absolutely ridiculous. IF you must go, take the ferry over to downtown/straw market. You will find muuuch better deals on souvenirs. I am not exaggerating on the prices on Atlantis, disgusting.
Other complaints is - If you’re not of ** descent, be prepared to be treated like second class over others. About 60% of people are this way. The staff does not smile enough and they make you feel as though they are mad or bothered and then there are some super terrific people too. We went to the stores right off the resort too and I ordered some nachos and they looked fantastic. Everything but the powdered cheese sauce was pretty good.
I'm not a negative person, believe me. We did make the best of it but I will not ever come back unless it's free. And even then I would have to be promised a new room in a new building. Please take your money and book Maui, So Cal, Europe, a cruise in the Caribbean, Florida, New York, Boston, Ireland. I do not recommend this place at all. It's not the paradise I imagined for all these years. Also found it very surprising that one of the nice people here told me that 40-60 percent of the people here don’t know how to swim. Huh!?! I will make the very best of my last day. Take care and I hope this helps in your decision.

My family and I booked a trip to Atlantis around four months ago. A week before my trip I started reading the reviews on this website and they were all so negative, so I was worried the trip wasn't going to be as fun as I hoped! I got here at Atlantis 8 days ago and I'm really confused as to why the reviews are so negative. I really feel like we're at different resorts or something! Their customer service here is so professional and everyone I've talked to has been just so nice! Every employee I walk past greets me and asks how I am. I seriously recommend doing the activity called, Trainer for a Day, as it was one of the most amazing experiences! They take you behind the scenes, I got to ride a dolphin, and swim with the stingrays. They even have a photographer take pictures of everything for you!
I read so many complaints that the rooms were dirty, but stepping off the elevator onto your floor you can literally smell how fresh and clean it is, same for when you walk into your room. It's also super convenient because you can pay for everything on the resort with your room key! The food is also very good. I read another review on here that was talking about how they had a nut and dairy allergy and the chefs failed to inform that they were using almond flour in the bread or something... I have a bad nut allergy so reading that review really scared me and made me very cautious of what I was eating at first. I don't understand that review either because I ate multiple sandwiches from different places along the resort and food from pretty much every restaurant they have and never had a problem!
I would recommend going to Murrays for breakfast because their food is so good, and they have one of the best brownies I ever had! Also, the cove/the beach is the nicest I've ever been to, and the waterpark is so fun and great for kids. The only complaint I would have is that they automatically add a 15% gratuity on your bill. But other than that, this resort is truly amazing and I would recommend it to everyone!

2nd and last time we will be staying at Atlantis. We were here 3 years ago and had a great time. This was our 3rd trip to the Bahamas and sadly most likely our last. I honesty do not feel safe. My husband left his phone charging in the hotel room while we went to dinner and when we came back the phone was gone. While we were at dinner I was getting fraud notifications from American Express on my phone but was not able to dial out. I was going to use his phone.
As soon as we got back to the room and noticed the phone was gone we immediately notified front desk and of course no one was much help. They "filled out a report" but we know we're not getting his phone back. The maid did come for turn down service while we were at dinner and there were two men painting all day in the room next door. I can only assume where the phone may have gone. This has ruined our vacation and not how I wanted to spend our last night here. I cannot get off this island fast enough!

My fiancé and I recently spent four nights at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. We really enjoyed ourselves the first three nights, and even commented that it would be a great place to bring a family in the future. That changed on the last night. On our last night we, and multiple others on our floor, listened as a woman on screamed from her room begging for help. We could hear a loud altercation going on in the room (what sounded like someone being thrown around, with loud crashes into the door and walls). We could hear her and a male voice screaming at each other loudly as well as her repeatedly screaming "HELP". We, along with others on the floor, called security MULTIPLE times describing the situation and begging for them to come help.
After nobody arrived immediately and the sounds coming from the room continued to worsen, we ran downstairs searching for help. The first two security personnel members that we stopped told us they were not allowed to leave their current posts but that someone would be up shortly. In fact, one resort employee (a woman working the front desk in the lobby) threatened to call security on us if we did not stop "causing a scene" in the hotel lobby. It was not until we screamed that we would make sure the hotel faced a lawsuit and PR nightmare if they did not get upstairs immediately to save the screaming woman, that a single (apparently unarmed) male security guard, accompanied by a petite female manager, finally went upstairs.
I would estimate that AT LEAST 20 minutes passed between the time guests from our floor first called security and the time that security finally arrived. The things that can happen to a person in a violent situation in a 20 minute span are horrifying. What is equally horrifying is how long it took Atlantis security to respond to the situation. To have security take that long when someone is literally screaming for help like their life depends on it is completely unacceptable and frightening. I encourage everyone to think twice before ever staying at, or bringing their family to, Atlantis.

When I read the negative reviews of Atlantis on Paradise Island, I wondered if they were ratings for the same place. I was there 4 times, my daughter was there 10 times, and we had nothing but wonderful experiences. We do normally stay at the Cove and most recently at a Royal Towers' Regal suite, so it may be the case of 'you get what you pay for'. However, we never encountered a rude employee, bad food service or bad food throughout the resort. Maybe we were just lucky. If I would criticize anything, it would be the lazy river during our May 2017 stay. It had black "stuff" floating around at the entrance, and the water felt "thick", like it needed changing or filtering.
One person fell off the tube during the Rapid River ride, and was dragged for a few moments, I even bumped into him inadvertently and as he was being dragged he bumped my adult daughter off her tube too, but a lifeguard jumped in right away and caught up with him, and all was well with him and with my daughter as well. Neither of them complained and in the end laughed about their little adventure down the rapid river. It is unfortunate if there is, indeed, a "you get what you pay for" mentality, as many of these reports indicate. I hope never to experience that.

Recently we spent 11 nights at the Cove. We have been traveling to the Atlantis property for over 13 years so before the Cove even existed. We were spending our vacations there 1-3 times per year. It was our families favorite vacation destination until our recent trip at the end of March. They have their adult pool where the staff looks the other way as many inappropriate/illegal activities go on. We traveled with our family so only went to adult pool area 1 time to get take out food and 1 time for my wife to get a drink - less than 1 hour total over the course of our 11 night stay. Unfortunately, the actions they allow at the adult pool and throughout the resort negatively impacted my stay when a group of overly intoxicated young adults came out and were having a wrestling match right in front of the towel hut where the employees congregate at the end of their day.
Their wrestling match affected me because they landed on the side of my leg and my wife told them to watch out and be careful as I just had back surgery. After saying some derogatory words to her one of them punched her in the side and the group scattered with half running up the hill towards the Cove (the wrestling match continued and one almost fell into the shrubs with water running down - there are cameras right there which I suggested they review) and another group running towards the Reef. Hotel employees and security all pretended to see nothing. All we wanted to do was stay down at the beach and enjoy the beach as the evening wore on because our trip was ending.
The next morning at 5:30 am I went down to see the Cove manager and the front desk guy said he was setting up for a large group but should be back within an hour. I came back to see him about 6:15 am. He took a couple notes of the incident and said, "I would like you to report this to security. Is it ok if security contacts you at 9:30 am?" "Sure," I replied. Unfortunately security didn't contact us until much past that and the only thing they offered to do was take a picture of my wife's side where she was punched. Was that for their own protection or to actually do something to the people who hit her? (Not sure who a picture of her side would help their investigation and we would just spend needless time sitting in the room waiting for security). Atlantis and particularly Cove security is there for the sole purpose to make sure no one staying there goes onto their property - not to keep others safe.
During my brief conversation with the Cove manager his cell phone was ringing multiple times and he was panicking each time it rang until he ultimately excused himself to have front desk worker answer the phone. It was at that point I realized that my 1-3 trips a year to the Cove are nothing compared to the group he was taking care of. After all, if I've traveled there 25 times in 13 years I'm sure that group he was handling will more than make up for me not coming back. My hope in writing the review is that it will alert other to the unsafe resort Atlantis and the Cove have become. It is such a shame because it is one of the most beautiful places we've ever been. My son's brand new iPhone was stolen, my wife was called derogatory names and punched, and this was supposed to be our vacation.
We were so excited to come as we were scheduled to come in October 2016 but missed out due to the hurricane so this really made this trip extra important to us. Now instead of the beaches, pools, and family activities I'm left with memories of theft and assault. It is ironic that this incident happened the night after I took my son for a walk to get pizza. We saw a security guard with a German Shepherd. Questioned him what that was for and he said it was an attack dog for guests who won't comply with instructions. If you're at a resort that doesn't have a safety problem, why would they own such a dog? I'm sure Atlantis will be fine without my business. As I explained to them when you have beautiful year round weather, lots of activities, and a beautiful beach you will always draw the crowds. I just hope that someday Atlantis and the Cove will go back to a management group that cares and understands the property, guests, and employees.
Atlantis will always be a special place to us, but this last 11 night visit has left such a bad feeling that it is hard to get past and return anytime soon. We realize we are going to pay a premium for everything at this resort, but in turn we should receive premium amenities, service, SECURITY, and the greatest/relaxing vacation. Unfortunately, due to security we all went home with the incident of my wife being punched in front of a group of Cove employees as our lasting memory.

My assistant called at least 5x to speak with someone and all she could get on the phone was a customer service rep who was no help what-so-ever. No one ever called her back from the actual resort. They did offer to move us to another room higher up in the tower, but that was it. Throughout the entire stay the customer service was consistently bad and way too expensive. My stay at Atlantis was nice - great pools and a beautiful view of the ocean. However, besides the fire alarm going off four times in one night, my biggest complaint about this hotel is the way they treat their animals. The cats they have on the resort are extremely friendly and sweet. They don't beg, and they never bite or scratch. However, after speaking to several employees, I learned that management frequently rounds up as many of these cats as possible and euthanizes them. This infuriates me. Another employee told me that before there were cats (and I only saw 5 during my whole stay - they aren't covering every inch of the property or anything) they had a rat problem due to the large amount of waste the resort generates.
I don't know about you, but I would much prefer a few cats to hundreds of rats. Also, all the cats that I encountered at the resort were neutered (thanks to a generous employee who does his best to care for the cats and their medical needs - therefore they are also all vaccinated as well). If you are planning on staying at this resort, please consider speaking to management about the way they treat their animals. It has greatly impacted my opinion of this hotel.

I recently purchased a day excursion for Atlantis Water Park from Carnival Cruise Lines as I vacationed with my Grandson and husband. I was horrified as I watched pool employees hustling regular beach chairs and umbrellas to sit by the pool. I'm not talking about specialty cabanas or special chairs that I realize cost extra. The pool boys place towels on the lounge chairs and when you sit on a chair they tell you that all these 8 chairs are for Peter.
It is obvious that none of these chairs are being used as my husband observed the transactions taking place throughout the day. People who wanted to purchase the chair would pay them off. He even saw one man's umbrella that he purchased was resold when he left for a while. The guest was not happy. I did ask several pool employees about this practice. They seemed to be totally unconcerned. This seems to be acceptable practice around the pool. The brochure stated that pool chairs are free as long as available. So the employees place the towels on the chairs making them unavailable. The employees then hustle to make money off this practice in plain sight of superiors. Not good for future business.

We got to our room and wanted to take a nap and there was blood stains on the sheets. We tried to sleep and there was loud music but we thought it was outside. We spent the day out at the pools and beaches and the bars are not clean, sticky and outdated. After a full day we got to the room to sleep at 11 pm. We called the front desk to speak to a manager at which time he said he would come to see us. At 1 am the issue was still not resolved and the manager said he spoke with the mother of the teens and took care of it and they couldn't move us.
They couldn't do anything at all for us, not even a simple sorry. You come to relax and they let teens rule the halls and blast music. There is zero security in the hotel and definitely none to the guest bedrooms. They let whomever whenever in the hotel. We went to Jean Georges restaurant one night and the host was nasty and rude! I can't imagine why people stay here at all. They treat everyone poorly. The room cleaning service is the worst I've ever had, even in places much much cheaper it's much better. We had coffee in the hotel coffee pot and she didn't clean the pot and left dirty used laundry bags. We left and ordered a limo the night before to take us to the airport and we had to wait 20 minutes for a pre reserved limo. The head of car services said they had a shortage but didn't say sorry. The staff at the coral towers were rude and basically said tough luck on the condition of the room. I was led to believe that I would have a room to accommodate my whole family. It is what I paid for.
I ended up with a room with a bed and a roll out couch ($300/night). There wasn’t enough room for us all to unpack. I lived out of the suitcase for the majority of the time. My husband and daughter were able to unpack. There was one working electric outlet in the room and almost no working lights. The wifi was hit or miss. When I complained I was promised someone would be in in the morning to fix the electric and the lights. I’m here one more day and I’m still in this horrible room and my daughter spend her vacation sleeping on a couch. I have a view of the staff coming to work in the morning. None of the beautiful views of Atlantis and I did early check in. I’ve complained every day I’m here and nothing. I’ve stayed at Days Inns with rooms in better shape than this for $90/night. I asked them to comp me for the 3 nights that they overprice the room. I was told "You paid. We don’t comp." The staff was horrible about all of it. So what’s my next steps?

Every aspect of our vacation was sub-standard compared with the many other All-Inclusive vacations we've been on. Atlantis is overrated and overpriced, terrible experience. We were not told that we'd have to pay security deposits for each room prior to check-in. The staff throughout the resort were not familiar with the All-Inclusive plan. Tracking the All-Inclusive bars and restaurants was completely inconvenient. The All-Inclusive menus in select restaurants was lacking. The check-in process took 2 hours. The process of billing everything to the room and settling up at the end of our stay was a pain, stressful, and was horrible service. We were only able to find one pool with a bar and there were no servers walking around taking orders.
Throughout the resort, there were no servers taking drink orders. Lines for some restaurants were extremely long for those on the All-Inclusive plan. At check-out we had to speak with the front desk manager to get $600 in incorrect charges removed from our bill. Our room was a mix of furniture that didn't match, looked very run-down, and dated.

We just returned from a 6 night 7 days stay at Coral Towers. When I read the above reviews I think, did we stay at the same place? I do not know what people expect. It is a vacation destination. It is going to be more expensive than at home. We had a wonderful time. I will admit I was getting a little nervous after I read some of the reviews. If I had listened to them we would not have gone. It was relaxing, beautiful. The room was just what I asked for. Walk in shower, the room was clean, no smell. The staff was always friendly. Housekeeping cleaned our room daily. I would go back in a heartbeat. I will admit, sometimes it was a little difficult finding a handicapped ramp but after several days we learned where to navigate to find them or elevators. It was a wonderful vacation.

My husband and I took our daughters, their husbands and 4 grandchildren to Atlantis in March of 2016 for a week. I asked for a handicapped room with a shower chair and arranged for a motorized wheelchair. The wheelchair was exchanged for a motorized scooter when I complained that the battery life did not exceed 45 minutes. The only outside elevator was broken, so we could not go down to the water park to watch the grandchildren. We were able to get to the pool directly behind our hotel; but, my husband could not use the pool as it did not have a lift. When we asked about the other pools, we were told that none of the pools had lifts.
We continued to have battery problems with the wheelchair and it was not unusual to have to stop in the hall, plug in the scooter and wait for 30 minutes before we continued on to our destination. My husband is a below the knee amputee, is 6 foot 2 and weighs 300 lbs. The shower chair was small and the legs bent under him. Customer Service said that was the only chair available. He could not take a shower and washed out of the sink the entire week. He was very happy to go home. We will not return.

We booked our vacation through AAA. Spent $15,000 for round trip airline tickets for my family of 6 and booked 4 nights at The Cove. We arrived at 3:15pm and were told our room was not ready and had to wait in lobby till 4:00. Our luggage was immediately taken and we could not changed into our bathing suits while waiting. After getting into our adjoining rooms we realized it was not what we were sold. We paid for one room with a king bed with an adjoining room of two queen bed. Instead we were given two rooms with one king bed and one queen. Our children took turns sleeping on cots. The doors to the balcony were next to impossible to open and after complaining a serviceman appeared at our room to repair it on the 3rd night at 11:15pm. We told him he could not repair it at that time as we were sleeping.
We have a nut and dairy allergy in our family and even after the chef came to our table to hear our allergies our food was often served with nuts and cheese. One night my daughters got an anaphylactic reaction to bread served at the Bahemi Club. We were informed by one chef that the bread was nut free and after it, my girls reacted and got hives and started vomiting. A second chef told us the bread is made with almond flour. We rushed out and I gave them Benadryl and epipens. It was a miserable night. The Cove felt bad and said they will pay for our next meal at the Dune and personally meet with the chef to review our allergies. After personally meeting with the chef to again review our allergies our meals came out with cheese.
The employees are like robots with fake smiles and move at snail's pace. They speak under their breath and hardly make eye contact. They were rude to special needs child by initially telling him he could not use the pool because he can not wear their paper bracelets without pulling it off. After initially being informed it was not an issue before our arrival he was demanded to wear the bracelet. The employee was annoyed and would budge saying it was policy. I actually cried at this point. After seeing my reaction, the employee said "I guess he can go, but he's supposed to wear a bracelet."
The trip was a nightmare. The rooms were an issue, the food was an issue, their insensitivity to special needs was disgraceful. And the more we tried to rectify the issues more issues came to surface. Finally made it to a bar for a relaxing drink at 5:50pm and was told we had to get a drink at different bar because they stop serving at 6:00pm. We informed them it was 6:00 yet and said he was leaving. This place is a scam!

I went to my doctor thinking that it might be eczema, but the shocking news was when my doctor asked me, "Have you been travelling?", and I replied: "Yes I was in Atlantis." After that he told me, "You got infected with scabies from the hotel." That was shocking. I never thought I will get scabies from a five star hotel, but apparently they did not even bother to clean the bed sheets. I am suffering from severe itching and sleepless night that all from spending one single night at the Atlantis.

My fiancé and I traveled here this past weekend for Valentine's Day. The only reason why we stayed at the Atlantis was because I came here as a kid with my family about 15 years ago. Let me tell you - it has CHANGED. I'd rather stay at a La Quinta than this dump. Right after we swam with the dolphins on Sunday, we went to the Sports bar in the Casino to watch the ponies. We walked up to the bar and the bartender started asking my fiancé questions about his watch. We ordered one drink each and shared a glass of white wine (within a 4.5 hour period of time). We both started to hallucinate, our mouths began to go back and forth from salivating to drying up, we became extremely aggressive and dizzy. I only remember bits and pieces so I am trying to recollect to the best of my ability here. I remember the security doing absolutely nothing.
I kept repeating myself over and over and over again and felt as though everything was a dreamlike sensation. The staff/security separated the two of us because we let them know of the violence and roofies (we believe were Ketamine, and we're waiting for a blood test) we were exposed to. The security was a joke - they completely swept it under the rug. The next day, the woman who I apparently spoke with (yet I don't recall ever meeting her in my life) offered to get their private investigator involved. OK let's do that so you can burn the tape. We have the US Embassy involved and are taking the steps to prevent this from happening to another person. This is a serious incident of assault from their staff which cannot go unaddressed. Please do not stay at this resort. The Bahamas is not what you think it is and neither is the Atlantis.

I visited Atlantis for one day when we got off a cruise ship. The park was very overcrowded, but they continued to sell tickets to make it more crowded. The worst part was half the water slides were closed and the one that were opened had no water tubes. People were literally begging for water tubes as people came off the slides. It made the whole experience sad and uncomfortable. How can such a wealthy resort run out of cheap water tubes. Thankfully, only one day of my vacation was ruined. For the people who travelled only to Atlantis, their whole vacation was ruined.

My wife and I took a cruise and purchased tickets to Atlantis for the port. All I have to say is to never go to Nassau. Never go to Atlantis. It is poorly managed with employees that don't and don't do their job. The beach was closed, half the water slides were not available. I will say that the river and the slides that were open were a lot of fun. But everything else about the park was terrible. We arrived at the port at 9:00 AM. By the time we got to Atlantis it was nearly 11:00 AM. We were told that towels would be complimentary for us. Then our "guide" said that "THIS IS NOT A TOUR" but he walked us around the entire park which is absolutely massive.
It was a very slow walk also since we have handicapped people in our group. By the time we go to the only spot that apparently had towels, it was already 12:30 PM. We were hungry at this point so we ate our "free" lunch that we paid for was decent but its $20 for a snack wrap. By the time we finished that and got in the water it was a little after 1:00 PM. Again, half the slides available, and no beach available, and I wanted to go snorkel in the water that they advertise but surprise surprise that wasn't available either. We paid about $400 for the 2 of us to go down the same 5 slides. We had to be back on the boat by 5:30 so we didn't have a lot of time there. AVOID NASSAU at all costs. People are extremely rude there.

The Atlantis is a massive, dirty, overcrowded, overpriced, 1990's style dump!! The carpet in our room was so dirty, the beds, uncomfortable, the furniture, cheap and ugly. There were water stains on the ceiling and the room smelled very mildewy. I have stayed in Holiday Inns that are much nicer. The food is barely edible, and costs a mini fortune. It cost $160 for my 2 daughters (10 & 12) and I to eat a buffet dinner. Seriously? The pools, and beaches are so overcrowded. The lines for all the water rides are insane, but to make matters worse, the hotel allows all the tourists from the cruise ships into the water parks which then only makes the lines that much longer. I can't believe I paid $850 a night for that experience. I could have stayed at an elegant Ritz Carlton for that price. I will NEVER go back.

I have been living in Nassau for a year now but time and again I hear complaints and become a victim of Atlantis's indifferent approach towards business and customers both. I booked a table for 12 people on 27 Dec. at Mosaic and spoke to the manager on duty, Enith **. I requested her if she could put a few placards on the table with a small message from me to my staff and she agreed to it. So she gave me the address and I sent her an email with the message. I also spoke to her regarding carrying my own whisky/vodka to which she said she would charge me a corkage of $50 per bottle to which I also agreed.
When I checked with them as I was leaving home for the hotel, a Ms. ** picked the phone and told me they didn't have any instructions on putting up and placards and maybe it has slipped Enith's mind. She also said that they can only allow me to bring wines for $50/bottle but my whisky/vodka would not be allowed. When I told her I had mentioned this to Enith and she had agreed, she said she would talk to Enith and call me back. She called back to say that Enith had forgotten to tell her about the placards and had thought that the whisky/vodka I was bringing was to be given as gifts and not consumed! This was the most ridiculous explanation I have ever heard. They were very rigid and would not agree to anything. And I had also invited people and had to go ahead with the dinner, and also have their drinks.
Then they also called their Director of F&B, but he also refused to accept that his staff had committed what she had and completely denied me all my claims. I have heard similar complaints from numerous people as I deal with hundreds of tourists here. I feel if the attitude of the Atlantis staff changed for the better, this hotel could charge double the prices and people would happily pay it also.

If you book through Atlantis, then beware. When you book a room and flight, they give you the total package price but that is not true. You can book through other online agencies for approximately the same price which does include the airfare. What Atlantis does not tell you is that the airfare will be billed separately by the airline. You don't find this out until after you book it and only then do they provide you the terms and conditions.

Every vacation package that I have in the past included room and airfare. Recently I booked a package from Washington Dulles to Nassau. My package price was $2,810.31 which included a moderate room, taxes, and surcharges for a 6-night stay from Washington Dulles to Nassau. When I was making the booking, before checkout, it showed me the room reservation and flight details. I naturally assumed these were the total charges for the room and airfare. I did not see itinerary which included the airfare charges until after I made the purchase. I just contacted Atlantis and asked why I was being charged by the airline also, which they then advised me the package price did not include airfare. That comes to a total of $468/night. They are very unethical in their practices. Buyer beware.

I'm not writing this review to complain about the outrageous prices for food or WiFi charged at the resort. I think by now everyone knows what they're in for when they decide to vacation at Atlantis. Nor am I writing this to dissuade anyone from staying there. It's definitely a beautiful property with lots to do. I'm writing this because I am not only Shocked but utterly Disappointed in the customer service or lack thereof provided by this resort as a whole. We stayed at the resort from 9/19 to 9/26. The place was near empty, no lines for slides or food which was real nice. Unfortunately on Monday 9/21 our beach bag was stolen from a lounge chair next to the lifeguard at the bottom of the Challenger slide. We had sat there 3 consecutive days and had chatted with the lifeguard a few times because my son went down the slide probably 50x a day.
Upon noticing that the bag was missing we asked the lifeguard who was able to describe in detail the bag (which was covered by a towel) and my daughters pink flip flops but didn't see anyone take it. He signaled for security who now informed me that I must file a report immediately and only 1 person was allowed to go. I'm with my wife and 2 kids. My wife is crying and the kids are upset. I explained to the security guard that our bag was stolen, we had planned to eat lunch but we have no room key now or money. "Can you take my wife and kids somewhere we they can get water until i return?" "Absolutely not" was his response. "Have your wife go back and get another copy of the key." So I had to leave them there because it was so urgent that I fill out this report.
I stood in a security shack with 3 other couples who also had their stuff stolen from the pool area and was told to itemize what was stolen from the bag and write it down. While discussing my situation with the other victims and comparing stories I was told by the young lady behind the desk "its a shame y'all White people are stealing from each other here on vacation." When I mentioned for the amount of money we all spent to vacation here I highly doubt anyone on vacation would be stealing iphones that are useless once they're turned off. Her response was "someone would notice if a black person took your stuff but its y'all white people stealing each other’s stuff so how are we to notice."
I'm not here to make this about race at all. I'm just appalled that this was the response I got after having my stuff stolen at a 5 star resort. While waiting to be ushered up to another security room my bag appeared carried in by a resort staff member who claimed to have found it in the men's bathroom in a stall under a towel. When I questioned him further he had no answers and walked out. I was thrilled to have the bag back. Naturally my watch, my wife's iphone and cash were gone. They finally usher me up to security room where I'm met by Akeera. I explain to her my situation, hand her my list of goods stolen to which she responds, "This is a matter of lost and found. I cannot help you check back there tomorrow."
Lost and found? My bag was stolen. Contents removed. Why have I wasted 2 hrs on vacation filling out forms? When I asked about surveillance video I was told there is no video in public places. The entire resort is public space. Am I to believe there are no cameras by the water slides? Or by the entrance to the Dig aquarium where my bag was found in the bathroom? Hard to imagine. I then asked if I could use the phone to call Verizon and cancel my phone and was told "no go back to Harborside and use the phone in your room."
From where I was in the resort that would take me at least 25 minutes just to get there. Never mind there and back and I still had no idea where my wife and kids were going on 2 hours. I did luckily get to use the phone at the coral towers concierge. I was led there by a security guard. Etienne was more than accommodating and was able to call Verizon. Days later after countless visits to my room by security and filling out the same forms I was told by head of security that "thieves go on vacation too."
My response was that thieves from Idaho or Chicago on vacation would be smarter than to steal useless iphones and leave an expensive designer beach bag worth more than the contents in it in a bathroom stall. Sounds more to me like one of your staff members took my bag and couldn't leave the property with a woman's beach bag so dumped it. A thief could have walked right off the premises with the bag or back to the room and disappeared.
We attempted to speak to a manager at royal towers more than once and were constantly shuffled from concierge to check in desk and told no one was available at the moment. I managed to file a long complaint at harborside discussing how rudely we were treated. I bumped into both other couples in the next few days who had their bags stolen and we all discussed how poorly we were all treated.
One couple was carrying around all their beach stuff because they had no bag. Atlantis couldn't be bothered to even give them a complimentary cheap bag for their troubles. I’m not writing this to complain about outrageous prices or what some may consider my own negligence for leaving a beach bag on a lounge chair covered at a 5 star resort. I’m writing this for others like myself who are considering spending a lot of money on what should be a beautiful family vacation and expecting topnotch service and not getting anything close to it.
We were never apologized to or offered any kind of support or compassion from anyone at Atlantis. The only sincere apology I received was from my cab driver on way to airport who insisted that it was hotel staff that stole my stuff and to please not take this bad experience home with me because that is not what Bahamian hospitality is all about. Too late. A Lot of money spent for my kids both 6 and 7 to be traumatized and asking to never go back to the Bahamas.

We arrived at Atlantis Resort on 8/22/2015. We stayed at the beach tower room 4108. After many researches for family oriented resorts I decided to take my children to Atlantis for a seven days family vacation. When I booked the room and chose the tower I was a bit overwhelmed with the different tower choices. After reading and researching I decided to book the beach tower which was a disappointment. The customer service at the beach tower was very poor. The one time I decided to stop at the front desk to ask a question the attending person refused to look at my face to answer my question, when I approached the desk he was involved with paper work, and I asked him if he would prefer me to wait until he finished what he was doing and not even looking at me he told me to "go ahead and get to my point."
At that point I was frustrated because anytime I went to Royal tower and any tower above the royal the service was very good and employees were very polite but at beach and coral towers I felt very mistreated in many ways. My daughter asked me every day to go on the Jet Ski and on Friday 8/21 I decided to stay at the beach and take her on a Jet Ski ride. When I saw 2 employees carrying the beach chairs I approached them to request one and they replied that they were not giving any chair but I could just grab one. So I walked towards the chairs to grab a few chairs for me and my children and a manager named Marvin told me that I wasn't allowed to take any chairs because they were cleaning the beach.
The beach hours of operation was from early morning until 6 pm and this happened at 12:00 pm. I tried to explain that I just needed chair for about one hour, just so my daughter could try the Jet Ski. He refused to listen and called me trash. I was really upset at that point, many other guests were using chair. It was a beautiful sunny day, no rain, no lightning and was not able to enjoy my day at the beach.
The beaches behind royal and cove towers were not being "cleaned" but the jet skis were only available behind the beach tower. So I decided to grab a chair when the manager Marvin approached me, grabbed my right forearm, and tried to push me to the floor. A vendor named Pamela was watching the scene as well as many others vendors and hotel guests and was horrified the way I was treated. The manager Marvin also threatened me to call security and throw me out of the hotel. This all happened in front of my children.
Marvin's boss Dennis was watching the entire scene and did not move until he saw Marvin physically assaulting me. Dennis was willing to listen and allowed us to take the chairs. After the incident my children were scared, my daughter was afraid to walk around and my vacation was spoiled. I did filled an incident report with the hotel and according to them an investigation will be made but no apologies were given to me or my children. This was a $7000 vacation and just the fact that I did not choose the most expensive towers shouldn't be a reason to be treated the way we were treated. I have stayed in many different resorts before and never had to go through such a horrible experience.

Atlantis was so short staffed that it was really hard to get help due to it being "slow season" - August 24-September 2. If you are trying to run a business especially a resort of such magnitude you should have staff on every corner. Food was so expensive, we decide to put ourselves on a budget - $100 per DAY. Very easy and hard at the same time when you have 5 children all under the age of 12. Other guest would "steal" your beach chairs when you are away swimming. Saw guest fist fight for tubes. Heard every curse word imaginable. They run out of towels. Life guards are sitting around and chatting with other staff members. Never coming back there again. Not worth the money! If you are going to tax people to death, let them know ahead of time. We come to the Bahamas at least three times a year, but never, never here again. Oh, and as my husband and I sit in the airport for our happily return home, we are both eating outdated chips bought in YOUR expensive snack room. Goodbye Atlantis. We intend to spread the word. My husband wanted to give me, my mother and my two children a treat on my birthday, the 13th of December 2014. We were on our way to Marsh Harbour, Abaco Island, Bahamas and had to stay one night in Nassau waiting for a connecting flight. My husband booked the room online and paid with his credit card. He wanted to give me a luxurious experience with some fun for the kids. We took a taxi all across the island to reach the hotel. We had to stand in two different lines for over 45 minutes to finally get the key to our room at 3 PM. It was a sad room, number 4145, overlooking some rooftops covered in bird excrement. 2 old standard beds, hard and uncomfortable for 4 people. TV with remote not working. Broken lightbulb in the only bed lamp and toilet not flushing. Not a good start to go back and stand in line at the reception to get things to work in the room.
We wanted to hurry out to try to enjoy all the luxury. Unfortunately most of the restaurants where we lived were closed at 4 PM. Why? It was high season? The children took a dip in the closest pool and we had to wander a bit to find anywhere to eat. Finally we sat down at the Lagoon Bar, a totally overpriced place with sad food and hungry birds scaring the kids and ** everywhere. 96.60 dollars including 15% forced gratuity for one pizza to share for the kids, a salad each for me and my mother, 2 coke and two Kalik. And the worst service ever experienced. We were absolutely NOT welcome. Too tired to walk the long way to the waterpark, we walked back to our room.
I was shocked when I got a text on my phone that my credit card was maxed out. I was asked to show my card when we checked in at Atlantis but I knew my husband had already paid for the room so I didn't think anything was charged on it. Again, down to the reception and stand in line to figure out what had gone wrong. The guy could see they had charged 724.70 dollars at check in and he suggested it could be to cover for food and beverages put to my room during our stay. But he agreed that it seemed a very large amount for just one night stay. I have to say he was very insecure and unprofessional. He could not inform me of the normal room rate and I assured myself that it could NEVER cost more than around 100 dollars for such poor standard and lousy service.
Well. As it showed later I was SO wrong. The room rate was in fact 724.70 dollars for one night and they tried to charge us TWICE. As we had an early flight next morning we wanted to go early to bed. Around 9 PM the kids were put to bed and me and my mother were in bed 9.30. Our room was facing the elevator and a room with a sofa. The isolation had to be almost non existing. We tried desperately to fall asleep in the constant screaming and shouting from people meeting in the hall, waiting for the elevator to go down to the casino downstairs. A nightmare.
Just around 10 PM the phone rang. I was so furious and afraid they would wake up the kids. Some poor staff member wanted to know if everything was fine, if the tv was working, the toilet flushing and the light bulb changed to our satisfaction. I was SHOCKED that they would call a family with two kids at that late hour to find out if we were satisfied.
In the morning we went down to have breakfast and found nowhere to get it. The breakfast restaurant at our tower was closed even though the signs said they served breakfast there. When I asked the staff they suggested that nobody normally had breakfast at the hotel as people came here to go to the water park. Say WHAT???? Anyway. I learned that breakfast was not included in the 724 dollars and we had to walk for 5 minutes to find a Starbucks where we got a coffee waiting for our cab to take us to the airport.
I complained at the front desk about the double charge, the closed restaurant, the noise at night and the lack of breakfast as we checked out from our room. I also filled out a million pages customer satisfaction review from Atlantis after my return home to Sweden but never heard from them after that. I hoped to receive some kind of compensation or at least an apology for the terrible experience we suffered at their hotel. But nope. Nothing so far. I hope this review helps you and keep you from making my mistake. Don't go to Atlantis resort. Ever.

I booked and paid for my stay online and called the hotel ahead of time to make sure everything was in order before my arrival and had no surprises. The staff seemed a bit rushed but confirmed that everything was fine. Upon my arrival at check-in I was told that because my Visa which works as both credit and debit in the rest of the civilized world said debit on it they will have to get a hold of $150 per day (I was staying 6 days) for maid charges and possible room charges. I was told that this hold would take up to 21 days to be released. I said, "No, thank you," as I have better use for my money than to let it sit for 21 days and ask to leave the deposit in cash. I was advised to leave $500 out of which $350 were going to be charged for hotel fees and the remaining I could use to charge anything to the room while in the pool area or get it back at the end of my stay which made sense to me.
The next morning before I left my room I called the front desk to inform them that I was going to the marina and then the pools and ask what I needed if I wanted anything charged to the room. The staff member said all I needed was my room key. After walking about 20 min to the marina and having ordered breakfast I found out that this was not the case as my room key was not activated for charges. I walked 10 min back to the coral towers to get my card active and they tell me that my card was not active because I did not leave enough money so I had to walk back another 15 minutes to my room to get cash. I was a bit upset for the miscommunication of the staff but not enough to complain as I tend to give everyone second chances and understand that as humans we make mistakes.
But as the days followed I continued to experience bad customer service. Several of the staff members seemed upset at having to give simple directions in the pool areas. At the quick eats outside they acted as if they were doing us a favor. At shark bites I finally lost it and made a formal complaint to a manager regarding the lack of customer service from one of the bartenders. It was before noon on a Thursday and the bar was still slow. My girlfriend and I ordered two rum and coke and sat at the bar to drink them. When we ordered two more jokingly I asked the bartender to put more rum in mine and he responded with a bit of an attitude which I ignored. A few minutes later my girlfriend asked for a cigarette lighter and the bartender's response was simply rude. At this point I asked for the manager and made a formal complaint. The manager was quite nice and professional and got my girlfriend a lighter right away.
For the rest of my stay I decided to interact the least possible with the staff to avoid getting upset. There were some highlights worth mentioning. Our maid was great. She came every morning, asked if everything was ok, smile, and did her job. The service at Olives restaurant was also great and also at Sea Grapes. Some of the casino staff member were nice and friendly -- the bellman and the taxi or shuttle driver.

My family and I went to Atlantis July 2015. We booked our trip directly with Atlantis over the phone. Everything was paid for. When we got there, we were told we need a $250 deposit which was NOT told to us when booking. I refused to pay the deposit because #1, I was never told and #2 I came on a budget (unrealistic when you're staying at Atlantis, Nassau). Because I didn't pay the deposit, I was unable to have WIFI. My sister actually had to pay $650 deposit for the Royal and she was given only 32 hours of WIFI. They informed her that if she wanted more hours she would have to pay for it. Everything there was RIDICULOUSLY HIGH in price. There are a lot of surprises they trap you with once you show up. The customer service was awful. I had to ask 4 times for a blanket and 6 times to be assisted with a broken closet door. The resort itself is beautiful but you damn near have to be rich to handle the hidden costs and amenities there. I will not return.

Got home yesterday from our stay at Atlantis (The Reef). Our travel agent booked this trip for us and highly recommended it and assured us how accommodating and luxurious it was. I will try to recall every major issue we had with this place, but there were soo many I don't know if I can think of them all at once.
Our group of 9 had prepaid a little over 16k for our 5 hotel rooms for a 4-night stay. Upon check-in, we were informed they would be authorizing each card holder for each room an additional 1k hold for "incidentals". Not a huge deal, but several of our group had planned to use that 1k as spending money on their debit cards for this trip and would not have access to it again until we returned from the trip and they released the money. It would of been nice for a heads up before we arrived. This was partially on our travel agent as well.
We were also informed of the "complimentary" WiFi, and 2 water bottles they would be dropping off at our room daily. Only to find out after we checked out that the fine print of our sign in paperwork had a $48 daily fee that covered the "free" WiFi, waters, access to their gym, and maid service. So basically $200 was added to each rooms fees. I guess the 3k+ per room wasn't enough to actually throw in complimentary amenities. We all really got the feeling this place was just nickel and diming guests to the extreme.
On our first full day there we decided to check out the water park. The signage for the rides was incredibly small or nonexistent. Very hard to figure out where any slides were. Also no one directing the lazy river, which we were told by another guest that we just needed to wade into the water and find a tube for ourselves. The lazy river was pretty cool, but my only draw back on it was the water was filthy with tons of trash and debris floating in the water. I tried not to look too closely at it. We did the shark tube that day and it was pretty cool as well. Fairly decent first day overall.
Second full day we spoke with the concierge about booking a boat trip to snorkel for the following day. One gentleman behind the desk seemed knowledgeable about options but every other person we spoke to was oblivious as to what there was to do or how each third party company was to book with. They were finally able to book our group this private boat trip for Sunday that left at 9am. So we took it very easy Saturday night and went to bed earlier so we could be in the lobby at 8am and catch the complimentary shuttle at 8:30 to the Marina. Once we arrived at the lobby, none of the concierge people had any idea of where our trip was or that it was for snorkeling. One of them finally told us to go to the Seahorse dock. So we waited for an additional 30 mins outside in the shuttle line.
Once we were finally picked up the guy could only drop us off at designated area near the hotel and we were left to walk half a mile to the actual dock we needed (That he drove right past 10 mins earlier). Once there we realized this was not a private boat cruise as we had been told by the hotel. There were 20 other guests riding on it. The man collecting payment also had no information about our group or seemed to know we were coming. We checked with the organizer of the boat to confirm the trip would run from 9am-12pm. as the hotel had promised (We had two friends with 3:30pm flights that had to leave soon). The organizer said he couldn't promise 12, and two of our friends decided it was cutting it too close. They decided to head back to the hotel. At this point he collected money from 4 of us, with another 3 standing nearby with money in hand.
He then called all guests to walk to the boat. At that point we informed him our other 3 guests still had to pay. He seemed to get very flustered and proceeded to tell us to wait. He walked the other 20 guests to the boat and loaded them. Then returned to our group to tell us it was too late and he was going to refund us our money. We were very upset with this news and were forced to turn around and walk another half mile back to the resort. We stood in line at the Corral tower waiting for a shuttle to come take us back to our hotel. After 15 mins of waiting a shuttle driver pulled up and asked where we were going. We said "the Reef." He said, it was going to be another 20 mins before he got there and it was his last stop. He said another shuttle is coming right behind him and that we could jump on that so it would be faster. We said "ok."
Then proceeded to wait an additional 25 mins before the same original shuttle showed up again!!! At this point we were very heated that we took it easy Sat night for this trip and then essentially wasted our whole Sunday morning with the runaround. We went straight to our concierge at the Reef, and it was the one guy who seemed to have a clue about what was going on around there, so we were very polite and respectful when we expressed our disappointment with the disorganization and lackadaisical stance the hotel staff seemed to have.
He jumped into action and right away started calling other charters and found one that was taking off at 10:30am. He assured that if we paid a cab $40 and they took us straight there we could make it on this cruise. He told us it would cost $70 per person and would run from 10:30-1pm. We said great we will take it. So we rushed ahead and took a cab right back to the original dock we had been on before with the Seahorse company.
This new charter company seemed to be much more friendly and very accommodating as they squeezed us into an already sold out boat/snorkel tour. Once we set sail, we quickly found out from the crew that this boat would be running from 10:30- 3pm, not 1pm like our hotel had stated, and it was not $70 per person but $95 per person. They even had brochures that were $25 per person more than the ones our hotel was giving out to guests. Talk about bait and switch. With the cab and the additional boat fees we paid over $200 additional than what we planned and dealt with horrible customer service and a huge runaround. Luckily for us this snorkel trip was the highlight of our trip and was well worth it (Go figure, off the resort was the best time we had.).
Then comes the worst part of our trip. We end up going to the Cain pool at the Cove around 4:30pm to have some drinks around the pool. We were all impressed with the cool atmosphere and vibe of the 18+ pool. As we stood at bar area behind the DJ we noticed two groups of early 20 somethings exchanging words and yelling at each other from about 40 feet away. We noticed the girls in the groups were the main instigators. At that point some of them started charging at the other group while screaming and acting extremely trashy. It appeared a fight was about to break out. Several members in our group as well as other guests around us started filming this incident with their phones. The staff seemed to break it up somewhat, but then a couple of the guys involved ran around behind the cabanas on the beach and began fighting.
As this happened most of the bar cleared out to the edge to watch what was happening. A girl in their group was very upset and hopefully embarrassed as she should be that people were filming her trashy friends fighting. She ripped one guest's phone out of his hand, cutting his hand and proceeded to throw his cell phone towards the ocean. She then ran and tackled a girl in our group who also had her camera out. The two girls in our group tried to fight her and a couple other girls off. Once we pulled them apart and separated them we walked the girls with us back to the bar and asked them to collect their things and stay put. I then returned to the beach to find my sandal that had fallen off. Security at this point had broken up the fight and pushed the girls who tried to jump the two girls in our group directly to the bar where our stuff/girls were.
Immediately and from behind these 3-4 trashy girls attacked our two girls again at the bar. So again we had to break them up and pull our girls away from them. The "men" with these girls seemed to be content to let the females handle all of the fighting. No guy in our group was willing to cross that line of touching a female, so we stood by as much as we could. After we broke them up for a second time security told us to leave which we clearly were already trying to do. We began walking back down the pathway to the Reef with security escorting the other group of people about 20 feet behind us. All of a sudden security stopped escorting their group and they ran up behind us again and tried to fight our two girls. It was clearly horribly managed by the security.
After the 3rd time this group tried to assault the two girls with us security decided they would keep the other group outside while two of them escorted us to our hotel room. We gave them a full summary of what we saw had happened and showed them the video of the two original groups fighting and explained why our girls had been attacked. They assured us that the group was going to be removed from the hotel and we would not need to worry about them again. We asked to speak to a manager, who was never available to come talk to us. Convenient huh?
Flash forward to dinner that night, we are leaving the Royal hotel to head back to the Reef. As we step onto our shuttle we see 3 people get off a shuttle next to us. 2 of the 3 were the main "male" and female instigator/attacker earlier that day and they stared us down but would clearly not do anything without their entire group there. It was apparent security made no changes and didn't remove any of these people from the resort. We spent the next 12 hours of our stay traveling in groups and keeping the girls in our room because we were assured that the Jersey Shore crew we encountered at the Cove pool who were staying at the Reef with us would attack again if given the opportunity. That's not how you want to spend the last day of your vacation.
As the front desk guy asked me how my stay was upon check out. I said "it wasn't very good." He asked why and I quickly summarized what we had dealt with and that we would never be back again. He asked if he could go get an assistant manager, because he doesn't want any guests to leave with a bad taste in their mouth. I said "sure, but I don't know if it will change my stance but it can't hurt." He went into the back room and returned about 30 seconds later. Said, "sorry sir, our assistant manager is in his morning meetings and is not available." I replied, "That figures." So even after all of that they don't have the courtesy to send a manager over to speak with us about anything that occurred.
Upon checkout, each card holder paid the small balances we had on our rooms and received paperwork showing our remaining balance of $0. Once we landed back in the states two of my friends noticed their credit cards had charges for over $800 each for things they never ordered or agreed to pay for. They are both currently trying to reach the hotel to get an itemized breakdown and fully ready to dispute these fraudulent charges.
So to summarize this trip was basically a nightmare. The hotel tries to nickel and dime guests with tons of small hidden fees and has lackluster amenities. The general vibe of the staff was horrible. They get 15% gratuity no matter what, and don't have any real incentive to work harder for their guests. There was also a brazen lack of communication and knowledge between the staff/management. We are still considering posting the video of the trashy cast of Jersey shore brawling at The Cove pool to Reddit and World Star Hip Hop. If that goes viral it will probably be the best thank you I can share with Atlantis. I would highly recommend going anywhere else but Atlantis. END RANT.

I absolutely love Atlantis!!! I have been going there since it was originally Merv Griffin's hotel. Through the years I have watched it grow into an amazing paradise. I actually feel more at home there than I do in the states. It was many years ago that I modeled and had some shoots there on the beach some 23 years ago. Some of the same workers are still working in the casino and we always joke about growing old together. I frequent the resort about 5x a year and am looking into property on the island. People are kind and the resort is beautiful. I would recommend the Cove or the Reef if you are going to visit. It is worth the splurge of the extra money. The Beach Tower really needs an overhaul. The Cove offers a very nice pool called the Cain which is for adults only if this is your needs. There is so much to do if you are bringing your family and children. Be prepared to spend, spend, spend since it is very costly!!!
Very much worth it though and there are ways of getting around this. Take a taxi to the town and purchase your liquor and some staple food there. Dining is a must in some of the wonderful restaurants... Kota, Casa D'Angelo, (with ** the bartender) Mesa Grill, Sea Fire, and Mosaic are excellent choices. Make sure to take the kids to the "Dig" located in the Royal Towers. It is a very eccentric beautiful place! An experience you will NEVER forget!! Also make sure to go to the Lagoon bar outside and ask for **!!! Fun, fun and great drinks!!! I have been well traveled and have seen the world however I LOVE ATLANTIS!!! Again... 5x a year!! Enjoy!!!

My young daughter and I stayed at Atlantis for the first and last time. This place is overpriced and run down. We were initially put on the first floor in a handicap room, where the shower fixtures were coming out of the wall. That same night I was still up at 2am because the teenage boys next door were partying all night and the walls are paper thin. I asked to be moved the next day which they accommodated after telling me all rooms would be the same. I insisted on a new room and after much time, I was moved to a higher room with an ocean view. Better, still not what I had expected. Nothing like the pics online.
The food is bad, and I think everyone there hates their jobs because I have yet to see someone crack a smile. Every question is met with 2-5 word replies. The friendliest part of the trip was the cab ride which had nothing to do with Atlantis. I am the person who has to experience for myself and I don't rely on the word of others. Big mistake. The pools are gorgeous, but the grounds are rundown and not well kept. Save your money - we had a much better trip on a cruise ship with a smaller room and a friendly crew. I agree with the comment above - Baha Mar will give them a run for their money and drive this ship into the ground. Never never again.

My husband and I went to Atlantis with my company. The company paid for 50 people and they paid for everything, so my complaint has nothing to do with money. The service is horrible. The staff make you well aware that the visitors are despised. We have never been treated so badly ever. The problem is that they include a 15% gratuity even if you pick up a $3.00 banana from a kiosk. The staff has no incentive to offer good, courteous service. They get their tips no matter how badly they treat you. The lazy river is filthy. One of my friends got a parasite in his **. The doctor said it came from the water in the lazy river. My trip was free and if I am offered a free trip to Atlantis again, I would rather be dragged naked on gravel than go back there.

My wife and I have been to Atlantis several times. This time was horrible. We were supposed to have king size bed, water view in the coral tower. When we checked in, they directed us to a room on the ground floor, the last room on the edge of the property and had no water view. Only a view of trees and a security camera mounted on the tree pointing directly at the room. We went back to the front desk only to be told that they could not move us because they were full. I demanded to see a manager. They finally agreed after a half hour argument to move us the next day. The original room we were in room 2428 should be demolished, in fact the whole wing should be stripped down to the walls and start over. What a pit. It was moldy, the fridge did not work and the TV did not work. And oh yeah, the icemaker had been disconnected in the hallway and the hallway where the icemaker was was littered with trash and dirty laundry.
Sounds appealing right? On top of all this, a majority of the restaurants were closed our entire four day stay. If they don't get their act together, they will be done in a couple more years. We will never return there. Do yourself a favor, there are so many other great places to go, avoid Atlantis like the plague!!!!

Atlantis Resort, located on Paradise Island in the Bahamas is extremely over-priced and most of the service is poor. We found that the over inflated prices on everything combined with the poor service dominated our conversations during meals and overshadowed the fun of the water parks and beautiful waters. For example, breakfast for a family of three which included a Belgium waffle, 2 egg omelets with vegetables, coffee, and 2 orange juices @ 8 dollars each, averaged at $70. Gratuity included whether the service was good or not. Most of the time it was not.
Over the bridge and off Paradise Island (PI) on to Main Street was a bit better although stores such as Michael Kors and Fendi were clearly not intended for local shoppers. The straw market, also located on Main Street is a large building packed with some beautiful local made straw items and typical imported items from China. Every few feet a worker was begging us to buy something to support her family.
PI isn't all-bad of course and the Bahamas is definitely worth visiting. The snorkeling is beautiful. I also recommend dinner at the "Poop Deck" (yes that is the name). Still pricey but the food is good and so is the service. The buffet located in the Royal Towers was also very good @ $60 per person. My daughter recommends the lazy river, the pools, and water slides and suggests that the lifeguards stay awake and clean their stairs leading to the slides. They were very slippery. My husband concurs with all and adds that he was very disappointed to see so much garbage on the PI beaches. I chose 3 stars because 2.5 was not an option. I recommend visiting the Bahamas but cannot do the same for PI.

Just returned from Atlantis in the Bahamas. Sad to say it will be my last visit there. They sell the property to the cruise ships as a day trip to the people sailing on cruise ships. As a hotel guest we could not even get a chair at the pool as they were all taken by dirty towels. If you took the chair at times some would come out of the pool and tell you it was their chair, and many had already left. This practice of overloading the property with non hotel paying guests makes for a very unpleasant experience for the paying guests of the hotel.
The suite at Coral tower was run down, dirty and aged. It is a fire trap! Holes in the walls with wires sticking out.. In the back of the TV...wires, wires, wires all over the place. The TV did not work because some sensor was unglued. Had no hot water at one point. The entire resort has a musty smell...and we both felt sick with the mold coming out of the AC.
The casino is filled with smoke. Dealers are very nasty, very nasty! We that like to play are paying their paycheck. Waiters stand and wait for a tip with hand held out. I got flipped over in the lazy river. It is far from lazy. It is downright dangerous. No one came to my rescue...except a young kid that gave me his float. This place needs the competition of Baha Mar. When they open I will visit there again but not to Atlantis ever again.

BAHAMAS YES! ATLANTIS NO!!! Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas- Beach Tower Hotel. March 12-21 2015. Please note this review is only for the Atlantis Resort!!! The Bahamas were beautiful and I would love to go back. Let me start by saying I am a fairly well-seasoned traveller. This is not the rantings of a first timer that did not have her dreams and expectations met.
Upon our arrival on the 12th at around noon we were told no rooms were ready, check in is at 3pm. This I understand and was prepared for, I had told my two daughters (11 & 15) to have their bathing suits on and pack a beach blanket. We made use of the beach until 3pm when I packed up ready to head to our room. Our room still was not ready, they said another 15 minutes. Ok, we could sit in the lobby for that long. We were told 15-20 minutes every time I asked up until almost 6pm that night!!! Wet and cold with no luggage!!! There was no apology for this.
After finally getting into our room we found something to eat then went to make use of the pool around 7:30pm only to find that the entire resort shuts down outside at 7pm. Pools, water slides, even the beaches. The lights are shut off on the pathways and lagoons so you can't even look at the marine life. Around our third day there was a power outage over most of the island. I also understand that this was not something within the resorts control so I did not complain but it lasted for more than two days. Lobbies, elevators (when they were working) and stairwells were pitch black. We had to use our phones to get around. Restaurants were shut down, we had no AC or hot water in our room. We couldn't eat or shower but the casino was kept running with the backup generators.
On the second night of the power outage we were woke up at around 1am by a shrill alarm coming from somewhere behind our TV. Not being able to find it I unplugged everything. It was still going. My kids were not happy. I finally called emergency services and she told me it was the surge protector behind the TV, I repeatedly told her there was nothing behind the TV and she kept insisting it was. Finally she said she would put me through to the manager, which rang and rang, no one ever answered. My daughter finally found it in a hidden compartment in the armoire the TV sits on behind a false back. Finally getting the horrifying sound to stop we had to listen to them going off across the entire floor until 3am. Again, no apology, no mention of compensation.
The only restaurant in our hotel that did not need a reservation (Seagrapes) was shut down for dinner five of the nights we were there with no explanation whatsoever. Not even a sign. When I asked at the desk the response was, "Don't know what's up with that." All the beach restaurants shut down at 5pm so don't plan on grabbing a quick dinner there. Our only option was to walk down to the marina village, which was about a 10-minute walk and because it is on resort property they still charge resort prices. Burgers, fries and shakes at Johny Rockets cost us $77 for three people!!! The Seagrapes dinner buffet was $133 for two adults and a child and it was one of the cheap restaurants. In a review I read on Travelocity a man said you could starve to death at this resort. He wasn't far off.
Now comes the final straw. When I first booked we were only there a week but the airline had to change our flight (Which we were well compensated for, thank you Westjet) so for our last two nights at the Beach Towers I had to make a separate reservation because the first was booked as a package deal. Upon check in I informed the lady of this and asked if we would have to switch rooms. She assured me NO we would not. I asked several times to be sure and even asked her to leave a note on the computer. She said there was nothing to worry about, I would simply have to check out and check back into my same room on the 19th.
The morning of the 19th we had a 10am tour booked so I went down to check out and check back in at 9am and was told my new room would not be ready until 3pm. I of course argued this and told the man about my previous conversation. He said I was misinformed. I was being kicked out of my room. I had to run upstairs, drag my kids out of bed, throw absolutely everything into suitcases and have them stored before our tour.
When we got back at 1pm I went to the desk and said "I know it's early but is there a room ready for us?" Again I was told 3pm and the rude tone of his voice set me off. I was done. I said I wanted to speak to the manager. It took 20 minutes for a manager to come speak to me!!! His name was ** and he was the most condescending man I had ever met. I laid everything out to him you have read above and his only response was that there was an apology sent out about the power outage but I must have been missed. Uh huh! Where was this apology? There were no notes, no signs, nothing slipped under my door. He ended up giving me a $200 credit, which didn't even pay for two meals. Now I'm reading online that other people had their rooms compensated. So there you have it, this was my Atlantis experience. For the outrageous amount of money I paid to stay at this resort I was expecting a lot more.
Things to make note of. Every day the maids forgot something. Coffee, Towels (4hrs to bring those) and Pillow cases of all the strange things. The free WiFi and water bottles you are paying are $45 a day resort fee that is not mentioned at check-in. A $5 a day gratuity is added to your bill for the maid whether she is doing her job or not. All restaurants add a 15% mandatory gratuity, so even if the service was terrible or you are eating at a fast food place you still have to tip. Don't expect anyone in the high-end stores to get up and ask if you need help. You can't actually see the dolphins unless you book an expensive dolphin encounter.

In February 2014 my daughters and I decided to book a trip to Atlantis for my husband's 60th birthday. We intended to go in May 2014. We booked for 8 adults and 3 children under the age of 3. Due to circumstances beyond our control - my husband had to have emergency bypass surgery the first week of May - needless to say we were unable to travel. My daughter contacted Atlantis and was told that they WOULD not issue a refund (we even offered to provide a doctor's note) and that we would have to honour our reservation within one year's time. We rebooked our trip for February 12th, 2015.
When my daughter called the hotel to confirm our rooms (we now needed a crib for a baby), she was told that only TWO rooms were booked and that the other two rooms were booked for May at a cost of $7,000 each night for a two night stay. The person at the reservation desk admitted that it was their mistake but wouldn't do anything about the mix-up as no rooms were available for the time we needed. After spending the better part of her work day on the phone with this resort - they finally capitulated and gave us each a $150 room refund (which at the end of the stay we didn't see).
That is just the tip of the iceberg for the time (and money) we spent there. Do yourself (and your bank account) a favour - don't go there. They have their hand in your pocket for EVERYTHING....unless you enjoy spending $10 USD on a 1.5 litre of water. I could go on, but anyone reading this will probably get the picture I am painting.

Service was horrible. 15% gratuity automatically added to each check therefore staff does not care about providing exceptional customer service. Hotel is 20+ years old and signs of wear and tear are very evident because resort has not been well maintained. Musty smell evident and caused allergy issues for me and my children. Upgraded to The Cove and when I spoke with a front desk person there, was quote upgrade charge of $305/night + tax which should have been $1,060 for 3 nights. Was required to go back to Coral to handle the upgrade for which the front desk person was not happy to do (even deactivated my room key before I could enter it to claim my luggage). Upon checkout from The Cove, found that I was charged over $1,400 which was more than the currently listed price of $399 + tax!!! Unfortunately because of how the resort is structured (policies), I was told that I needed to go back to Coral or know the name of the person who helped me, but since I had limited amount of time to reach the airport, I could not do either.

After seeing Atlantis in a commercial we decided to book our tickets online. The price of our stay was 1600 for 9 nights. We arrived at the hotel only to find it was under renovation, therefore we were downgraded to Atlantis beach towers. We had to walk from one part to the other. We get to the front desk of the beach towers only to be told our stay would now cost us 2800 and a 250 deposit for room in case we charge anything. After talking to management, our price was reduced to 1800 and a 150 room deposit which we paid. We leave from downstairs, go upstairs, the keys to room don't work. We go upstairs and downstairs 3 times before we get in the room. While downstairs exploring the hotel we go back to the hotel to go to our room, the lights are out. No elevator. We had to walk up 8 flights of steps in the dark to our room. We wake up on last day to find a bill under door for another 185. We're being told we stayed an extra night.

To all parents, siblings, and friends, who have loved ones that are girls, the Atlantis is not the place to go. They claim not to own the beach right by their hotel. But that's in small print when you check in. There is no other signs warning when you enter the beach, it's at your own risk. I went on the jet skis with my friends and they took me alone to an island with eight other employees of the jet skis and tried putting their privates in my mouth. Thankfully I got away and it wasn't a repeat of the Natalee Holloway situation. (RIP) The Atlantis wants nothing to do with the situation that gave me PTSD and ruins my life everyday. Is that really a family friendly place?

About 4 weeks ago, we visited the Bahamas and stayed at the Cove at the Atlantis. We have been there probably 15 times and actually got married there. During our visit, my daughter, Lauren **, 17 yrs old, visited the beach in front of the Coral and Beach towers. She wanted to ride waver runners. Somehow two of the biggest bunch of horrible people on the planet convince her that they will take her for a ride. The people on that beach sells drugs, openly use drugs and harass everyone who comes onto the beach. So she gets on the wave runner with two of them. They take her to an island just off the beach. Next thing two more men on wave runners show up and get onto the island.
Here is where four of them tried to sexually assault her. She fought them off and took a wave runner back to the beach. Her legs were all cut up and she was a mess. She told security at the Atlantis and long story short I met with Sean ** and Miguel **, directors at the cove in reference to this incident. In the meantime I contacted the police who went to the beach where Lauren identified two of them and another two in a line up. So four men were charged and are in jail. There is hearing on Oct 29th, 2014. Keep in mind this is on vacation that cost me $30,000 because I took 8 of us!!
I am writing this because the Atlantis assured me they would look at video tapes and contact me to see how security handled this. No one contacted me... No one called me. I had to chase them down. I cannot get them to communicate with me at all. The issue I had with them is after you visit them, you receive a follow up email asking for a rating of your visit and in this questionnaire they ask about wave runners and beach activities. Yet in small print on the documents you sign, it states that you go to the beach at your own risk WHICH the directors jumped in in a defensive manner when I asked them about this. They do not own a public beach they stated!!!! There are no signs as you go to the beach that you enter at your own risk. So give us a positive rating for the beach that we don't control???
My daughter is emotionally and physically a wreck, not to mention me. I was beyond enraged at the guys and the security. I am lucky to not be in jail for taking action myself as her father. I was contacted by the Embassy about a week later with an update. His name is Brandon ** extension **. The arresting officer was Detective **. I am asking for your help to push the Atlantis for a response. Anything else I can do for you please ask. I can get the police report... any information you need. The Atlantis cannot let such a horrible incident just pass and take no accountability. There is more detail to the story but I wanted to see if this would be of interest you.

Well, it's our honeymoon and we booked this hotel thinking it looked liked paradise! How wrong was we... We arrived to find we was put in the Beach Tower overlooking dingy roof tops, we booked and paid £5700 for beach view in Coral Towers. The rude, arrogant staff said, "Sorry but we are busy, that's all we have!" Very unhelpful after a ten-hour flight from the UK. The room stank of mold. Carpets was stained. The furniture was old and had dents in. The hallway was lemon after 70 style decor. The bathroom was dingy and mirrors was dirty.
We then the following day was told we had to pay extra 100 dollars to move into a room opposite still in the grotty beach tower. We paid the bell boy the money and was moved. The rooms was still very old dirty and smelly, but we could see a bit of the beach from a distance. We then went to the beach where we was hassled constantly by men asking us if we wanted to buy drugs, jet ski rides, water at 5 dollars for a bottle of water... you name - no rest at all. We thought we would spend time on the rapid river which was ok, but very busy so it was like your feet touching the person in front of you. No life guards and it was like everyone pushing and shoving, not relaxing at all.
We then returned to our room to find sewage leaking from our toilet. Honestly, the smell was enough to make you sick... it gets worse... We called reception and explained what was happening and was told, "We can send someone with air freshener." We spent an hour on the phone speaking to six different people before we could get someone to come and see the state of it. We then went downstairs and spoke to the manager who agreed we couldn't stay in that room! We eventually got moved for one night then moved again into the Coral Towers where we should have been in the first place.
We ate at the deli restaurant where we sat and food was being sent back, but we thought ok we will give it a go. My wife that night became sick and spent two days in bed... The staff everywhere are very rude, it really is poor service. The food is expensive and rubbish. Gordon Ramsey would have his work cut out here... As we was told, the chicken is frozen and fried, and my wife's chicken was served still half frozen in the middle.
We decided to venture off the paradise island and got a taxi from Coral Towers. As soon as we got in the taxi, man said, "Do you want cocaine?" It was constant. People on the street, hotel workers, and beach staff... Do I really look like some junky!!! We was advised to try the fish fry which is a mix of real Bahamas food. The food was cheaper and to be fair was good, but whilst sitting having dinner outside, the atmosphere seemed tense. About 1000 men just loitering about and then suddenly a gun shot was fired and everyone ran. It was scary as hell.
We for a taxi back and decided to stay in and get room service the following night. Room service took 1 hour to come. The food was soggy and not good plus they charge 15% on everything. It's a joke. Can of coke is 5 dollars... The food is so expensive for frozen rubbish. We was woken up at 4am by fire alarms going off. No one had a clue what was going on then it stopped. The next morning the fountain had leaked and flooded the Coral Towers, shutting two restaurants. The smell of sewage stank. It was vile.
After day 8 of our hell, we decided to eat at Vigil's BBQ restaurant in the Coral Towers, where they put a glass of water for us. I drank half a large glass quick as I was thirsty but then could smell the water and taste. It was sewage water. We complained to the manager and he said sorry. 40 mins after, I was throwing up. I felt terrible. The manager and my wife carried me to the nurse, a 12-min walk by the way, whilst being sick.
My wife kept the sample of water to show the nurse who admitted they should not be serving that water. She said even people that live in the Bahamas do not DRINK the water. I was the told an ambulance is on its way, and to wait outside, where I was throwing up. We waited one hour 5 minutes, no sign... The manager in the end called a taxi and said it's paid for, but it wasn't. My wife paid for it.
I was then in with the doctor whilst the rude nurse took my wife with another doctor into a room and told her she needed to pay £1500 now before they could treat me? They was very pushy and rude to her almost bullying her to sign it, but when reading the small print, they charge interest. My wife then found me and they would not wait for my wife to get the insurance details back at hotel so we was told to leave. We came back to the hotel and spoke to a manager who again was arrogant and spoke to me like I was a bit of crap on his shoe. So far, the hotel has not paid any costs or apologized. We have seen many people complain, be ill and said the place is a hell hole.
We wished we had read views because this place is a money-grabbing venture and they have no customer care or empathy at all. We travel all over to lovely places. Jamaica was fab. Stayed in RIU - they was friendly, lovely people. Maldives again is a must, New York, Vegas, Florida but this place is old, dated and stinks of sewage. Please rethink before booking. It looks good but it's not... Aug 2014. It's a health risk and it should not be allowed to run... There are so many complaints about this place having looked now we had a bad time it makes you wonder why nothing is being done legally... We also see many children hurt themselves on the water park due to lack of management. Yes, it looks lovely from pictures on the net but PLEASE, someone do something before someone is seriously ill.

This vacation was for my family & I, especially the kids. It all started on my first day when no rooms were ready & I ask to speak to a manager. The manager, Theresa **, was completely rude & nasty. I was so embarrassed my husband & I was ready to return to the states. We walked away as I was in tears because I couldn't believe how awful the manager was. We then bumped into 2 other managers that was really nice. I told them what happen & within 1 hour room was ready with fridge and water. Very nice of them.
The outside outing was very nice but all the things I paid for the kids to do they were not allowed to do any of them. Right there we lost a lot of money. To make matters worst, upon arrival, everyone is told that the guests gets 20 mins of free WiFi (remind you they were not specific). My kids decided to take advantage of it & did 15 mins. The day of checkout, I got a bill for it. I immediately called guest service, spoke with a man by Devon (which later found out he lied about his name), which told me the WiFi is not to be used on the iPods but only the resort computer. I told him if that's the case then they should let the guests know.
I asked to speak to a manager & of course they put me onto the rude manager, Therese, who then told me she will only waive the fee if she talks to my son. She asked my son if he say a price on his iPhone when he connected. My son says no but there were lots of info on there but he didn't read it all. She then ask to speak to me. I took the phone and her words to me was, "Miss, I'm going to refund you the fee but your son is a liar. He's not telling you the truth." I was in utter shock. I'm a guest and she has the nerve to call my son a liar. She then hang up the phone.
When I called back, they started playing games & giving out fake names. My husband went downstairs & spoke with a manager by the name of Sherri. She was quite nice. When she confronted them, no one wanted to own up to it. She then told me that my conversation was deleted. But little did they know I had already have the lady name that I spoke with. It was hurtful to me and my son. Never have I been treated like that on any other vacations. This was by far the worst resort. I wasted my time & money by going there. They are very unprofessional people & they know how to cover themselves when treat guests really nasty. Never have I seen so many unhappy people.
We stayed at the Coral Tower. The worst vacation I have ever been on. Even if she felt my son was lying, that is something she should have kept to herself & like the other manger Sherri stated, Theresa ** should have never even question my son or I because they are not specific about their WiFi usage. Like I told them, it's not about the money but more the principle because no one are mind readers. Very disgusted guest. I will make sure no one I know will vacate there. She really offend my son and family.

I'm going to try to keep this short. I'm devastated and pissed off! I left my phone behind at the pool at the end of the night when only staff were left there. I ran down within 20mins, found my case and cell phone ripped out of it. My last morning I left my room for 1hour and 40mins to have some last day pool/beach time. I returned to my room 20mins before checkout time to find a maid in my room, most of my room cleaned and the only clothes I left behind for my plane ride were stolen. Oh and I couldn't get into my safe because someone already tried to break into it so it was in safe mode. They told me I probably didn't leave clothes there and that I probably was putting in the wrong password (it was the same one I used all week with no issues). They pulled my luggage from the front and searched my luggage for the clothes and the security lady was looking through my purse! I asked her what she was looking for and she told me my ** cell phone!!! Are you kidding, as if they are accusing me of either lying or stealing my own stuff! I have heard nothing back but I have sent an email to head office that owns Atlantis. I'm going to follow this through as much as possible and even take legal action if I have to! I'm beyond angry!

My Fiance and I went to Atlantis for a wedding 6/19 - 23 2013. We never left the property for any meals in those four days. Saturday night she began to feel sick and it got progressively worse Sunday morning. She was very ill by Monday morning and ended up missing an entire week of work. After numerous tests it was confirmed that she had Salmonella. It is the nastiest disease you can imagine. I contacted Mr. Dario ** of Atlantis quality assurance first by phone and then by email.
I sent him a copy of the lab report confirming that it was in fact Salmonella per his request. They have done nothing to rectify the situation. Not even acknowledging it with a phone call or anything. The C.D.C. was contacted by the doctor as required by law and because it happened in another country there is nothing they can do about it. We spent 2,500.00 there for a long weekend and expect better. They are a third world country and the rights you are accustomed to as a consumer do not exist there. Stay away from Atlantis. We will never return.

I stayed at the Atlantis for 5 days in May 2013. After the first day, I wound up with nausea and diarrhea. Upon returning home, I went directly to the doctor for antibiotics. It was a 7-day treatment and I'm still not better. I will now have to go to a GI specialist. Source of infection is probably the pool system and something like cryptosporidium or c-diff. Also, I noticed poor food prep habits like pooling eggs on the omelet bar and them sitting at room temperature. Cream was sitting on the tables at breakfast to be served from one party to the next. Food was not hot when served. The lower temperatures were leading to bacterial growth. It's not a fun place to stay!

I am a travel agent. I had a group of 12 people with me lying down at the beach bed when a black guy who works at the Atlantis beach came and made us fill out the sheet with our name and cabin number we are staying at the cruise. I asked why does he need the information and if he is just there to work for tips? I asked him again the relevance of it. He acted condescendingly and arrogantly and told me that I don’t understand English with a real arrogant voice. That made my client friends mad and they told him that he was mean to me.
This is the guy who didn't do anything to help us and just brought the paper and made us fill it out and asked for a tip. I brought so many customers to this resort and I can’t believe that someone like him was able to work on this prestigious resort. This is a bad employee. My friends were mad at him. They looked at him and he told my friends that his look won’t intimidate him at all. Rude, rude, rude! But in spite of that, my husband gave him a dollar just for him to leave.

The room safe got drilled opened, but nothing was taken from the safe. When I notified security, they called the locksmith, who told me that this safe was like that when I checked into the room. That's impossible since the safe was programmed and locked by me. What alerted me to the situation is when I tried to lock the save upon noticing that it was open.
I had thought my wife opened it. I did see filings inside the safe when I kept trying to lock the safe to no avail. I left the room with the safe opened to meet my wife for breakfast because I knew she had been waiting for me. When I mentioned that I could not lock the safe, she asked me why I had to open it in the first place. This is when I realized something was wrong and quickly went back to my room. Upon further inspection I saw the drill hole. I did take pictures of the hole and the filings. I filed a report and wanted answers. I was assured by security that they would investigate and will have answers by the time my vacation was over.
On my last day, I went to security and asked what is taking so long to check the video. The person in security was surprised I knew there were cameras in the hall. Gee, I wonder if he thinks people don't know what that round glass object on the hall ceiling is for. I gave them the time frame of about 3 hours when the break-in occurred. However, I just got assurances that someone would be in contact.
At times, they made me feel like I brought a drill with me and staged the whole thing and even trying to put words in my mouth. Since nothing was taken, I expected identity theft. My wife spent time canceling her credit cards, and I wasted a day travelling to Nassau to report to the American Embassy that our passports may be compromised. I have checked the internet to see if anyone had a similar experience. Since I have never been notified by Atlantis management about the investigation, I have formulated a possible reason why my safe was broken into, although strangely, nothing was missing.
It was the first night of our vacation and we went to dinner. After dinner, we were all tired from a day of travel and decided to go back to our room and go to bed. Is it possible we suprised the culprits coming back earlier than they expected, and they had to leave suddenly when a lookout alerted them. Why didn't the cracker grab my wife's purse and run? I think, since it is no doubt an inside job, he didn't have time to go through and decide what he could take without us knowing. I believe a new door would have been installed and we would't have known anything was missing from our safe.
The fastest service I received all vacation was the replacement of the safe door by the locksmith. It took about 15 minutes to retrieve a door, take off the old door and replace it. Since I didn't get answers that were promised to me by resort security, I have to assume the worst. The sad thing is my 12-year old daughter enjoyed Atlantis better than Disney World. I will not plan another vacation to Atlantis because of this experience.
Pictures don't lie, and I would bet the drill hole which also slightly penetrated the safe frame is still there in the room where my family stayed. I am not only bothered by the mystery of this experience but being lied to by security staff. I've waited long enough for them to contact me with the results of their investigation .

I am writing this letter to express my extreme disappointment in your hotel. My experience has been anything but paradise. This was supposed to be an enjoyable Christmas vacation but it was a nightmare from the start. I feel that it needs to be brought to your attention so that others do not have to experience the utter disgust and disappointment that I have. First, let me say that this vacation was booked on October 7, 2011. The booking dates were from December 21st to December 27th, 2011. I have visited Atlantis before and stayed at the comfort suites.
The deciding factor this vacation to stay at Atlantis hotel directly was that you got a dolphin encounter included with your purchase. My family and I figured that would be a great experience to have on Christmas. At the time of the booking I had tried to have my daughter help me book the meal plan but it was very confusing. Nowhere on the website did it say anything about black out dates. I wanted to include the meal plan for all 4 of my family members. Every time we tried to book it, it was booking a whole new vacation. We were told that we could purchase the meal plan upon arrival.
When we arrived at Atlantis to check in we spoke with a man at the front desk by the name of Troy **. Everything seemed to be smooth sailing until we asked him about the meal plan. He told us that the meal plan was blacked out for the holiday and that we could not purchase it. We told him about the difficulty of purchasing the meal plan online and he told us that it did not matter. He said and I quote, "Anyone that did purchase the meal plan for the black out dates will be refused when they go to eat at the restaurant." I asked to speak to a manager. Troy ** disappeared into the back room for a while and did not come out. When he finally came out he was accompanied by a manager by the name of Aaron **.
He basically told us the same thing, that there was no way we were able to get on the meal plan due to the blackout dates and that it would not be honored by anyone who had previously purchased the meal plan prior to arrival. Since there was supposedly nothing that could be done, the next order of business was to ask about the included dolphin encounter, which was the whole reason we chose to stay at this hotel in the first place. We were told by the same individuals that we could not receive our included dolphin encounter, which is called the "Atlantis Experience pass" on my receipt, because that was also "blacked out".
I have to reiterate that nowhere on the website or the commercial that is constantly played on TV did it say that there were blackout dates. Aaron’s rude response to the whole thing was, "Well you didn't pay for this encounter, we were giving it to you for free." I explained to him that the whole incentive to stay at this hotel was that we got the dolphin encounter included. Aaron ** then went on to tell me in a very nasty tone that I had booked the vacation on October 31st, and that was past the time that the dolphin encounter offer was available. This is not true. What had actually happened is that I booked 4 nights on October 7th, and then since I figured we would have such a great time, I added on two more nights at Atlantis. I even have a receipt from atlantis.com (not booked through any other hotel website like Aaron ** tried to tell us) that clearly states the vacation was booked on October 7th, 2011.
A copy of this receipt is attached. You can see that an amount of $1,048.00 was taken out on October 7th. The remaining balance of $415.66 was taken out on October 31st, 2011. It was not my choice when the money was deducted from my account. If it was up to me, I would have been happy to pay the full amount the date that I booked it. Atlantis.com itself set up this payment plan which you can clearly see on my receipt, and chose when they were going to deduct the money. After a whole bunch of going back and fourth, we were told that the incident would be "investigated" and they would call us on the phone within one hour and let us know their decision.
We figured that this would all be resolved and that they would realize that there was a mistake on their part, so we proceeded up to the room. When we arrived at the room to try to take a shower after hours of traveling, we discovered there was no running water. I then went back downstairs to a very long line of disgruntled customers. I met a man that was happy to tell me that there had been no water in that tower for two days. The problem I have with this is that they knowingly checked me into a room with no water after all of our disappointment. When I went back to the front desk I asked Aaron **, "Is there water in my room?” His response was, "Is there water in your room?" while laughing, and rolling his eyes as if to make me sound like an idiot. I literally asked him 5 questions that he repeatedly danced around to get a response of no, that there was no running water in my room.
The man standing behind me was so appalled at this customer service he yelled out that’s the correct answer. It turns out he also had no water for two days. I was told that they were assigning rooms for people to go take a shower in, and then I was to be sent back to a room with no running water. For a hotel at this kind of price, this is just not acceptable. This is not a cheap hotel to stay at; my family has saved up all year to go on vacation. There is absolutely no reason for this to be an issue.
I feel that because we complained about the water, we were changed from a beautiful water view room (with no running water) to a room overlooking the parking lot and the top of a cement building. I have to also say the whole time that we were asking about the dolphin encounter, the meal plan, and the running water, your front desk employees were happy to smile, roll their eyes and laugh in our face while telling us, no there’s no running water, and no, you may not have your dolphin encounter or meal plan. I am being 100% serious when I tell you they were smiling at us and basically laughing in our face. The way they spoke to us was rude and appalling. Just the way I was told "well you didn't pay for that" was disgusting. You would think that you want people to have a good time at your hotel so that they can recommend it to friends and maybe come back again, but not in this case.
I never heard anything about the dolphin encounter investigation like we were told we would. That by this time seemed to be the least of our worries, we were just happy to take a shower in a room with running water after hours of traveling. The next day we went back to the front desk to ask about the dolphin encounter labeled on my receipt as the "Atlantis experience pass". We basically were told the same ordeal about the black out dates. When I asked why they weren't posted when I booked the vacation and why it said "Atlantis experience pass" on my receipt, the question just kept getting danced around with an attitude. I was repeatedly told in a rude demeanor that I booked the vacation on October 31st, which is not true.
We feel as if our hands were tied and that nothing could be done. I felt as if they baited us with the dolphin encounter to get us to the hotel and then switched the offer on us. Never in my life have I felt so taken advantage of. At one point I even asked if we could cancel our reservation and go to Comfort Suites or the Best Western. I was told no that it would have to be investigated and we may not be reimbursed. After the result of the dolphin encounter investigation I figured it was best not to take our chances because there was a good chance we would not get our money back.
As if all of this was not enough, while staying in the room that overlooked the parking lot for 2 nights we came to discover that the TV remote was broken, the lamp in the middle of the two beds was broken, the refrigerator door didn't close, the blow dryer did not blow hot air, and the toilet did not flush properly. They did fix the remote, lamp, and refrigerator but when they sent a "plumber" up to fix the toilet that wouldn't flush, he said I don't know what’s wrong with it and walked away and we never saw him again. After this we went back down to the front desk again and explained our situation and begged that we please be moved back to the room we paid for with running water.
They did honor our request which I am very grateful for. After that the vacation went smoother, we decided to pay for our dolphin encounter ourselves through Blue Lagoon Island and had a wonderful Christmas over at that island. We later learned several people we met were on the meal plan and were not refused at the restaurant like we were told they would be by Aaron **. I even asked the hostess and our waiter at Atlas bar and he was happy to tell me that the meal plan was in full effect and we could sign up at the front desk.
I just wanted to write this letter to bring to your attention the horrible customer service me and my family have experienced. I have never been on a vacation like this in my life, and I have been on many. I have never received a hotel service like this ever in my life. I have never been so angry, frustrated and disappointed all at the same time. I am so disappointed at the way I was spoken to by your front desk representatives. To see my family literally crying at the front desk and being laughed at was horrendous. I have worked in retail for years and if the customer had ever had any kind of problem, we always did our best to accommodate them with a friendly attitude.
These people were very mean spirited and it seemed as if they were happy to put us down and tell us "no" to everything. Your front desk representatives need to learn how to assist their customers properly without a rude, horrible attitude. I will never vacation in the Bahamas again let alone stay at Atlantis due to this experience. I will never recommend this hotel to my friends or anyone I come across that is thinking about staying there. Like I said, I felt that this needed to be brought to your attention so that hopefully in the future others do not need to experience the horrible trip I have.

Well, where do begin? From the moment we landed, our luggage disappeared. We finally got it two days later with some stuff missing. When I called the airport to file a complaint, the man said, "Oh, come on, man, that can happen anywhere you go." He basically said it was my fault for putting my camera in a check-in luggage.
Next, I have never met such rude, incompetent people in my life. The staff at the hotel was horrible. I am so angry I can't even write this email. First, I had my door unlocked as I was talking to the cleaning lady and a gentleman decided to come into my room to reshelf the bar. I turned and told him not to enter as my wife was in the shower. He pushed the door and literally turned his head to see my wife. I confronted him and we almost got into a fist fight. When security came, they told me to chill out. And while they were walking away, they started laughing at what the man did. They thought it was funny that this perv tried to invade our privacy. I am sorry to even say this but at this point I couldn't care less. This vacation undoubtedly turned me into a racist!
Now, about their casinos. On a daily basis, we had a dealer make mistakes and pull our cards and take our money when we had actually won the hand. Three times we called the manager and they went to the cameras and gave us the money back and our winnings. Three ** times. At one point, my wife had a full-house against a dealer’s pocket pairs. She reached to kill her hands as if my wife had lost. When my wife told her to stop in a loud voice, the dealer responded, "OK, woman, calm the ** down." Mind you, this is after four such events of the dealer mistakenly taking our money when we had actually won. When we got fed up with it and asked for the manager, an older lady came and had the look on your face like she did not want to be bothered. We explained that the staff was making too many mistakes and we had to resort to camera three times in order to get our money back. She said, "Uuhhuumm," and literally just walked away. Oh, yea, this should be a movie.
They also have 15% tips automatically added. Hence, the staff couldn't care less about their service. Okay, I'm getting upset just typing this stuff. Got to go. One more day and I'm out of here. Never, ever returning to this place. This caused nothing but frustration. I spent almost $8,000 on this trip and it's the worst vacation I've ever had.

I reserved a room at the Atlantis Resort for one night, for $498. When I found that the boat I was meeting in Nassau was arriving early, I called Atlantis to cancel the room. As I was calling six days ahead of time, I guessed that there would be a penalty. What I didn't figure on was that I would be penalized for two nights. The result: Canceling a one-night stay resulted in a penalty for more than what I had paid. Here is the Atlantis logic:
Cancellation Fee - Royal Towers Terrace $419.00
Fee Adjustment - Due to Insufficient Payment ($120.82)
Total Fees $498.18
I was told that hotel had a policy of penalizing a guest for two nights, no matter what. I never booked a room at the Royal Towers, but they charged me a cancellation fee for such a room anyway. Point is, they kept all of my $498.18 payment and told me to get lost. I'm supposed to feel lucky that they didn't bill me for the extra $120.82. To me, this is organized thievery.

step to the other side where's there this long line that we had just gotten out of to have our key activated this really
upset me because I had been in that long line to check in 15 minutes ago and now they want me in the line again. Ok Isaid I
waited patiently in line for 20 minutes.
Day 2 no hot water called complained asked when water would be hot said in a few hours or so. Ok I said to myself.
Day 3 no Water called and asked when this was going to be fixed, they said pipes had burst and part was on the way theyweren't sure. On top of this the room was not In a 5 star rating mold & mildew on the air conditioner vent, water stood
in
the tub while You would take and shower, the toilet almost over flowed, the bathtub had a partial ring
Around the tub, what really grossed us out as well is the comforters on the bed when we turned them back had blood
stains on
them, this should have never happen you should never put blood stained comforters back on a bed if you can't get the
stains
out especially in a hotel. I can go on and on.
Finally the 4th day a sliding glass door fell on our 8-year-old daughter. This really upset our whole family and me. My
17
year old was in the
Room with our daughter while my husband and myself were in the library. We had 2way Radios in which my 8 year old radio
us
crying. The librarian heard our conversation and called the front desk to notify them of what had happen. We went to
the
room the front
Desk called and asked if anyone was hurt our 17-year said no that she was Ok. In the meantime no one came from the front
desk I called and complained 5 times or more and asked to be moved from the room. No response. Finally I go down to thefront desk to complain and no one seemed to know what had happen. This is unacceptable. This is
Like an hour and a half later that I went down and no one knows about this. The assistant manager Felton Cox came out
and
talked with me and he also called the investigator a Mrs. Smith whom went back to the room with us to talk with us and
to
take pictures of
The sliding door that fell. She filed an incident report in which I filled out and signed
She also told me not to worry that we would be moved from that room. I told my husband I did not feel good about any of
this after Ms. Smith left. So when she left I took pictures of the door that was down, pictures of the mold and mildewon
the vents, the blood on the comforters, for my nightmare vacation I wanted to document every problem With this room.
In the meantime were waiting for someone to call us back and tell us they have a new room for us 1 hour went by then Icalled the front desk its being taken care of ok I thought then I let another hour go nothing. Finally I went down
stair's
again no one seemed to know what was going on and they had no information in the system that we were to be moved. This
really upset me. I told Mr. Cox that our vacation has been ruined everyday there has been a problem with this room.
He assured me that we would be moved from the room and for us to go ahead with our plans. I told Mr. Cox that my husband
said he would stay in the room and wait for them to move us and he could call my husband in the room. Six hours laterwhen I
bring the children back we have not been Moved.
I asked myself what kind of hotel is this. I was so upset I marched over to the desk and asked the young man there whywe
have not been moved. He checks the computer and says that he has no information in the system that we are supposed to be
move from that room. Now this has really frustrated me . A Tonya Demar who was theAssistant manager asked whom I had talked with earlier and I told her Felton Cox. I wait For 15 minutes for Mr. Cox to
show
his face. He apologizes and says he's been waiting for approval from higher up to move us. I know for a fact is does not
take 8 hours to move someone to another room. My sister is a manager of a hotel in Texas and she told me that theyshould
have moved us immediately not 8 hours later. Mr. Cox moves us 30 minutes later to the presidential suite the room was
nice
but I'd now like to point out the problems with this room,
clogged bathtubs, blue stuff under the sink were it looked like the toilet had overflowed the air conditioner ventsleaking
water to the wet smell the room had. I documented everything on video footage and photos. The response time it took your
staff is unacceptable.
This vacation was a nightmare from hell. Top everything off we had dinner at Seagrapes and my
daughter had a bug moving in her food, of course they gave her, her dinner at no charge but in the meantime me and my
husband looked at each other and lost our appetite wondering if there was a bug in our food as Well.
You tell me is this acceptable to you. What would you have done if a Glass door? Fell on your child. Your hotel is verylucky that it did not hurt her badly because I would have Wanted to kill someone if my child was seriously hurt. I
wondered
how quick your staff would have been in the room if my daughter had gotten seriously injured. She probably would have
died
if she had been seriously injured with the hotels promptness, which is none.
I feel that our family should be compensated for this vacation. I will contact whomever it takes to run this hotels name
thru the mud.
Evidently your hotel does not care about its guest unless they're very wealthy or famous. We spent a lot
of
money to got on our dream Vacation and it turned out to be a nightmare. I will be more that happy to send you photo
Copies
of the pictures I took of both hotel room and the problems we had there. I'm considering taking legal action against the
hotel if we do not hear from you we assume That we will proceed with legal action. Also I will report the hotel to thebetter business bureau, attorney generals office and I'm sure the media would love to see what you get For a 5 star
hotel.
I will never ever go to your hotel again as long as I live. Your hotel Is the worst place our family has ever vacationedat?
We've done cruises, stayed in hotel Everywhere all over the world and have never been treated the way your hotel treated
us.
I work in a bank and my husband is a hardware/software engineer we look forward to Our family vacations every year. But
this
vacation to the Atlantis turned out to be a total Nightmare. Every vacation we've ever taken we've enjoyed except this
one.
We never Had any problems with our vacations until now. We only get 10 days vacation a year And we spent 8 of those 10
days
at the Atlantis. I expected a lot more than what we Got. I will be sending a copy of this letter to the following
