Project Solar's price was a little better for the same thing as the other companies. I got the solar panels and the actual power pack. The installation was very easy. The only thing I'd be disappointed is the solar power would take a long time to charge the machine. It's 12 or 15 hours with just the one panel that came with it.

I'm happy with my experience with Project Solar. The unit I bought seems to be functioning as advertised and there are no issues. It's for when we travel, camp and standby power. I wanted to be able to have a little power if we were away from the grid. Their sign-up process was very easy. The little carrying cart that came with my unit was missing a piece when I started to assemble it. I called and asked them if they could replace the piece. Within 10 days, a whole new cart assembly came. I'm very thrilled with their customer service. I'm also very satisfied with the product.

I'm happy with Project Solar. When I got my generator, the price was great. They knocked a lot off. The delivery time was a little long, but other than that, it was all right. I've tried out the generator and it worked. I haven't used it for long periods of time, but so far, it's up and running.

A few departments of Project Solar are okay but not the other departments. They essentially scheduled all the designs and the city permits without in fact inspecting the place to know whether or not the project is feasible. That was an issue. I asked them, “Hey, can you make sure whether you guys can really do it as is, without having to do any modifications?” They said, “Yeah. We can do it.” Later on, they came back and said, “Oops. We can't do it on this floor.” Finding out whether or not they can do it on that floor should have been their first step rather than the fifth step.

Project Solar charged me $1,800 and then sent me to collections. I said, “I'm not gonna pay that money because you're not supposed to charge me that without really knowing whether the project is feasible or not.” It went back and forth, but finally, they apologized and pulled back from the collections thing. That was all a nuisance. I said, “It's unfair for any business to do that, rushing to get that stuff done.” They came back and took care of the issue. So I'm okay now but I'm not a happy customer, and I don't think I will go back to the company. There are a bunch of other options. For my other property, I went with a different company.

I am not one to write a negative review. I in fact cannot remember the last time I had to do so, but this case warrants it. Project Solar has been nothing but incompetent and untruthful. The salesperson that sold me the project stated the work will take no more than 6 months and all equipment is already in inventory. I was also assured no roof work was needed, and they even had an inspection that stated the same. Now the project hits 2 years where I regularly get price increases.

First it was for the panels that now are not in inventory, then it was for the electric panel as their original contractor does not want to do business them. Now after they came and ripped down my roof, they sent me a new price adjustment over 15k without seeking my approval to begin with. In addition, the promised financing is no longer being offered. I had to call them dozens of times and had to offer many corrections due to poor employee training and lack of detail. Since it has costed me thousands in energy costs. They have also forced me to pay out of pocket for things like permitting twice (once again because a falling with another installer). I recommend buyers look for another alternative.

I bought the solar panel generator from Project Solar and the customer service was excellent. I love my product. They give you a portable cart that tows the product to make it easier to move around and the handle on mine broke. I asked if I could have it repaired or replaced and they sent me the whole carry container on wheels to replace it. It took a week which was quicker than I anticipated. The product gives me the security of knowing that I can go in the woods or go without electricity and be able to use my devices for an amount of time.

The biggest thing we like about it is you can use it indoors because I have a bigger gas generator that I use outside. But the critical thing to that was in the snow, you can use it indoors. My experience has been excellent. And I don't feel the need to shop around for any other company. Project Solar is practical. They're well-priced, and they work with their customers. It's a great company. I love that the cart came with Project Solar, and it was fairly priced versus the other ones. So I thought, "You know what? I'll take a chance and order it. If I don't like it, hey, I can always order something else."

When I went to their website, there was an informative video and I watched it. So, they were upfront. I ordered the kit and it came. There was no hassle. I didn't have to chase my product. It was heavy, but that's what the cart came in for. When began to use it, I fell in love with the ease of use. I've been using it for three months. It has never let me down. It seemed solid state and sturdy. And it has ports for different types of your electronics or plug-in. It charges amazingly fast.

I would make the solar power panel cord that goes to the battery longer. But that's the only thing I would change. It performed like they said or better than what they claimed that it would. We are so satisfied with this thing. That's why I have recommended it to many of my friends. For people that are seriously interested in getting something like this, I cannot recommend it more highly.

I liked the no-salesperson sign-up. I knew what I wanted so I knew exactly what I was looking for and what I was gonna buy. I also knew what price I was willing to pay. My initial order from Project Solar was lost in the mail and they couldn't find it so they ended up having to ship me a new order. I was happy with what I got. It just took a long time to get from the time that I ordered it to the time that I got it. They said it would take 7 to 10 days from the time I ordered because it went ground and they never showed up. Then, they said they were gonna put in a case for it. Another couple of weeks went by and I asked if it was gonna make it. I had to wait for them to put a ticket in and another week went by. Eventually, I got notified that a new order had been placed. But I had to wait another 7 to 10 days on top of that.

I couldn't get Project Solar’s customer service to address the situation immediately. It took way longer to get it resolved than I was expecting. But I'm satisfied with the product. I have a portable solar generator. It comes on a cart and it's got a couple of fold-out 200-watt solar panels that I can charge anywhere I'm on the road. I can run anything that is rated for a certain amount of wattage it puts out. Anything higher than 2,200 is not gonna run. I like the price. I got exactly what I wanted and exactly what I paid. It was a good deal.

Project Solar was good to work with. They were friendly, helpful, and had all the answers I needed. The problem was that it took time to get responses while dealing over the phone and generally by text messaging. I'm sure they're probably overworked. But it took a little bit longer than it would have taken if I had it installed by a normal company. There was a delay time in relaying information back and forth. But they were 100% transparent. What they told me I was gonna get was what I got. They didn't try to boost up the job. They did all the blueprints. They also did everything else for me.

The installers were fantastic. They did the job well, and left in about a five-hour window. They were helpful and answered any questions I had. They went above and beyond their normal job matching a conduit paint to my house siding. It is a top rate product. I should have gotten a few more panels. There is a way to do that, but it's too troublesome right now. I discovered towards the end of the job that they didn't take into account my pool pump or energy. But with everything else, the job was good. The main reason I went with them was the price. They're not paying overhead or for salespeople. They could save us a lot of money.

I did a lot of research and chose Project Solar for the product that they offered because of the price and I'm more of a DIY person. But they made quite a few mistakes and they're not offering much of a customer service product so you can't expect a whole lot out of them. Compared to a typical company that charges 50 grand, they're only charging a little bit.

There were miscommunications with the net metering. They kept saying they would do it but they didn't. I kept waiting and my solar system was turned on. They kept making up stories and finally, they told me that I was gonna have to do it myself. I would have been fine with it if they had just been honest but they kept leading me on. But it wasn't that hard of a process and I did it a second time on a rental house. The second time was much easier because I knew what I was doing. Also, they said they would do the grid tie-in but they later said they wouldn't do it and they gave me a credit for that, which was kind of nice. They gave me a gift card.

If it's somebody that knows how to do stuff themselves – can they rebuild a carburetor and install solar, I'd recommend Project Solar because they provide the product. But if it's somebody who is not a DIYer, then they're not the right company because you gotta be a self-motivator and figure out stuff on your own.

Project Solar had a really good price. I liked their no-salesperson signup process because their online tool is really easy to use to see all the information that I would normally get from a rep. It was easy to look online. I just had a few other questions and they answered. They were the type that could be answered over email. I called them at one point. They were able to answer my other couple of little questions.

The installers were from TriSmart. They communicated with me on the timing, and then when they arrived, I had some communication with the team that was gonna install it. They were out of stock of the smaller panels that I was contracted for, and so they offered me larger panels for free, which was nice. But then when they arrived that morning was when I found out about that, and so then they had to review the design because the larger panels wouldn't fit the same way. So that was a little bit of a good surprise because we got more solar than we expected for free.

Project Solar was willing to do all the paperwork but allow me to do the installation. I like that it was no pressure. All the other companies we talked to would call us almost nonstop. The only slowdown was I had to pay for something before they could send it out. Since I was out of town, we missed that soft deadline. When I got back, I paid it. But because of that, it caused a three-week delay. The solar panels that were supposed to come had been sold out so they had to send a different set of panels. But they still sent top-quality panels. The connectors that go underneath the panels appear to be top of the line.

They explained everything. Whenever I had a question, they would answer it. They were very responsive. They had a project manager who was always available. He not only made sure I had the things I needed, but also if I had a question, he would walk me through. I paid $20,000 more or less for everything. That's including the cost of my own install and the electrician that came out that wasn't part of Project Solar. Then I got a six-plus-thousand-dollar refund from taxes. The entire system, over 10-kilowatt, is $14,000 which is great. I have yet to talk to anybody who has even come close to that price. So far, I'm very satisfied. The system is still working perfectly and it's paying for all of our electricity.

Project Solar's reps were straightforward. Customer service was fast. It was all over the phone. However, I had to get into my attic, get all the photos and send them to Project Solar. Because they were remotely-based, I had to do everything for them. If it was a local solar company, they would have come to my home and took all those photos. It was an additional work. But given the cost, it's okay.

Someone else from Los Angeles came all the way here and installed. They had to go with the different places than the drawing. Those places receive more shadow than the actual version of drawing. I bought 12 panels. Two panels were put in a different place that has more shadow. So, my solar energy went less. The person who came to install told me it was very hard to put it in the place that was in the original drawing because they had some openings. So, they could not do that. I wish Project Solar could have found out. But since they had to do everything remotely, that was the best they could do.

Solar has panels and micro transmitters. I wish Project Solar put an upgraded version. My solar is 395 watts but the end phase transfer would cut it to only 280 or 290. So, 110 watts would go to waste. I thought my solar would produce 395 watts for every panel. But that's not true. Because even though the panel produces that much watts, the DC to AC converter would cut off a lot of those electricity. I wish they told me about all these things. Other than that, they painted all the external tubes.

I would recommend Project Solar to anybody. I did the rounds, and when I eventually found them, they were a heck of a lot cheaper than anybody else. Also, the consult was lowkey, and the reps spelt it all out. They expressed concern over the amount of trees that I had too. Now, we've had the system for 3 years. We were one of the first ones that had it done in Virginia, and the subcontractor was excellent. They just became an installer for Project Solar, and they did a first-rate job. They also took suggestions well. I was looking at one of the conduits they were putting over my gutters and asked them to route it around them, and they did.

Customer service has been very good as well. It's been several times that the system has tripped, and the first time, I didn't have a clue what to do. They came out, looked at it, flicked the switch, and that was that. I thought to myself, “Oh, God, I wasted everybody's time.” At other times, they walked me through what I needed to do. I've got no complaints at all. About 4 months of the year, we don't pay a bill at all, and the rest of the time, it's less. I look at the monthly report and it produces approximately 1,000 kilowatts a month at its peak.

Project Solar engineers the system and have it delivered, then you install it yourself and it saves a lot of money. I like their sales rep and they responded to all my emails. When I was working with them, I felt like I was on a team. Their normal procedure is you install the equipment then they pay an electrician to do the final connection. But because I was certified to do that, I did it myself and they paid me back $500 that they would have paid an electrician. It ended up saving me a lot more money.

So far, everything works as it should. They use Enphase inverters, I can use the Enphase app, and it's connected via Wi-Fi. I wish it was a slightly bigger system, but that's a limitation of what we could get a permit for. Since I got the system, I didn't pay any electric bill at all for a year and a half until I added an electric car. Now I pay a bill again, but it's a lot less than it could be. Aside from I pay less money, I feel better about the environment. I also recommended them to my brother.

Project Solar’s no human marketing policy looks good and the website is quite useful. You put the order on there and you know what you're getting. Their reps were able to answer all my questions. They were able to text me and they were in connection with me throughout that process. During the installation, they scheduled one day then some people came and did some installation, but they were short of some materials. The other crew came back a week later and they were amazing. They did it very fast and they really know what they were doing. After that, they installed things properly. Also, I have compared their price with other companies with similar configuration and going with Project Solar saved me around $5,000 to $10,000. I would recommend my friends to them.

Project Solar was great. It was easy to work with them, and they addressed the couple of little snags that we hit a timely fashion. There was something with the permit submission wherein they thought they could do it remotely, but I needed to actually go in. I went in and then there was something that was not fully filled out on the paperwork. They filled it out and I went back again. When the guys showed up, they installed the system and walked away. There's also an app and it's super easy to use. I recommend Project Solar all the time.

From the time that I first contacted Project Solar to when the system was up and running, it took about three and a half months. The communication was good. There were lots of emails. It was positive. Overall, it went smooth and it was a good price.

When we decided to sign up, the process was not too complicated. They sent correspondence via email and we signed it. It was pretty smooth. Then they came and did their job and the system has been working since. It was a quick experience. But the correspondence could be better. If you put up a system, every now and then, you could call or send a text just to see how the system is working. But we haven't gotten that.

We agreed upon a certain type of system and then we signed a contract over the internet. We started the ball rolling and they shipped out some stuff. It showed up in my driveway a couple of months later. I did my own installation and that was challenging but fun. I downloaded the tutorials and some PDFs that I was able to use to help me. Then, a company that Project Solar had a contract with came out and sort of complete the installation through the parts that I was unable to do. The equipment is very good quality. and I was very happy with their process. It was not a high-pressure situation and I never felt like they were trying to take advantage of me. Also, they always responded to any emails or requests rapidly.

The way they do business is straightforward and they give you the option to either hook you up with somebody with a contractor or do it yourself. The price was good and all the stuff was in the package which came out fast. I asked for a few extra support which they supplied to me at no charge and when I had to do the final hook-up, the rep was very helpful and patient.

Signing up with Project Solar was good because there was no pressure and working with them was very good. They were very upfront and they indicated that they use different vendors to do the installations. Everything went just fine and I had no problems with them. Three guys came over for the installation and they were prompt that I even bought them lunch. They were working out there hard and were doing it fast and providing the lines.

The only hiccup was the City required to do a rough inspection. It was not the final inspection but the whole system was installed. So, when the inspector came over, he said he couldn’t approve it. He was supposed to do a rough inspection first and make sure that all the brackets and all the things were good before the solar panels were put in. Then, there were a lot of snowstorms. My project was pushed back about a month and a half because of that. I was getting very frustrated. In the end, I had to communicate with the City, the installers and Project Solar. I ended up in the middle of this trying to make the arrangements to talk to each other because they were not communicating.

The City finally came over and the installers as well. They were able to remove what the City wanted to move so they could do the inspection. The City was good enough to do the rough inspections the same day and then, the installers put the panels that they removed. The final inspection was done and it went through the whole process. For some reason, the information was not communicated right to the installers. Or if they knew, they didn't do it right. Other than that, everything went good.

I originally bought 12 panels through a different company and I wanted to add 12 more panels. I did the research and I thought I could do this myself. I got into it but I couldn't. Project Solar’s prices were good and then, they hired someone to do the job. So I got my extra 12 panels. It was easy from start to finish. They took care of everything at a great price. I just sent an email this morning because I wanna do one of Project Solar’s battery backups so I'm waiting to call back on that to add to my system. The communication was great and I've sent them to a couple other people which also had solar panels put on their roof after talking to them.

It was mostly a do-it-yourself type of situation. They gave clear instructions about what information they needed and why they wanted the consumer to do some of the evaluation pre-work in order to keep their pricing where it was. It didn't seem particularly complicated so I went ahead with it. It was a great experience that was relatively easy and it was significant savings for the same product you would get from some of the bigger name retail solar providers.

I spent some time getting familiar with what I wanted to get accomplished and Project Solar’s system seemed to work okay for me. The process was simple as long as you're fairly knowledgeable of interacting online. There was a little bit of a problem with communicating back and forth between my energy supplier, Xcel, and Project Solar just because Xcel wasn't doing a good job. So, I finally wrote letters to the governor and asked for his intervention, and the system was approved out of Xcel the next day.

The installation was good. Project Solar contracted through a local company here in Grand Junction and the company that installed mine is a solar company that works out of Parachute, Colorado, which is 20 miles away, and it worked out well. There was an issue because I couldn't see the system working online on my iPhone. It was just dead. But I knew I was generating electricity because I would read the meter and it would be less every day. So, they needed to replace some sort of a little circuit board that was part of the in-phase system. That didn't work out too well because there wasn’t a good system set up to compensate the installer to come back and replace that circuit board and then get paid to do that. We finally worked that out but it wasn't clean. Other than that, my system works great. I'm waiting for spring to get here so I can generate more.

I paid $10 a month to Xcel as an administrative fee. Otherwise, my electric bill is always zero, then the administrative fee and the natural gas, which is making everybody broke these days. I'm gonna generate probably 1,500 to 2,000 excess kilowatts by March because March is the end of the year from the installation. So, I'm installing little electric appliances around the house to use up part of that excess. I installed an electric wall heater in one of our bathrooms so, when you go in there, you don't heat up the whole house to take a shower. You’re just going to turn on the electric heater, warm up the bathroom, go in and take a shower, and then turn the heater back off. The bathroom is way warmer. But I don't see it in my electric generation. So, I'm gonna put more in. I'm gonna keep adding things until I see that I'm gonna come out even for the year.

Every time I talked to customer service, I got positive feedback or the help I received was good. We did a first design and that was a good one. Then I had a new roof put on my house which changed how we could configure the panels, so we had to do a redesign. That all went smoothly and people were cooperating and understood what I was trying to get done. The only thing that made me go from using a local company versus Project Solar was the price. It’s excellent. I got an equivalent or better system out of Project Solar for a third less the money. People ask me how I like Project Solar and I tell them they should use them. They’ll like it.
