Project Solar was the cheapest and my experience with them went very smoothly. They were brand-new when I used them and they didn't have as many contractors so it took a little longer than I see what it takes now. But other than that, they did everything they said. It's been three years now and I refer them to everybody I know.

I had a great experience with Project Solar. They were quite transparent, clearly communicating what they planned to do and what I needed. The installation process was handled by a third party, and they informed me in advance when they would be at my house. It only took about a day or two to complete the installation. Since then, everything has been running smoothly, and I've noticed an improvement in my electrical bills. Overall, I'm very satisfied with Project Solar.

I recently worked with "Project Solar" to install solar panels on my home, and it was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. The team displayed impressive professionalism and expertise throughout the entire process. They provided clear and detailed information about solar energy, the installation process, and potential savings. The project manager was very responsive, answering all my questions with patience and care. The installation crew was punctual, respectful, and worked efficiently to complete the job on time. I highly recommend them to anyone considering switching to solar energy.

While I am happy for the people who did not seem to have any trouble, the same cannot be said for many people, including myself. A review of the Better Business Bureau will reveal a consistent thread of issues: poor communications, lack of proper record keeping and poor skills in their chosen field. The sheer volume of email required and the 10+ months which my project took made any "savings" not worth the time and effort expended. The only saving grace, by luck, is that the sub-contracted installer was good (their electrician had to throw out Project Solar's design because it was not in compliance with electrical code; thank god I did not get a dangerous design implemented). People who were stuck with a poor installer are in even deeper trouble than my situation. These people do not have their act together. Even worse, they wanted to trade bad, but truthful reviews, to settle a dispute. Disgraceful.

My experience with Project Solar has been a nightmare, involving over 160 emails and culminating in a pigeon infestation. I began my project with them in March 2021, initially attracted by their lower prices compared to other solar providers. Initially, everything seemed fine, and I even convinced my father to sign up with them. However, the problems began soon after.

It took six submittals and months for them to pass permitting with the state of Arizona. Once permitting was complete, the pricing became an issue as the initial quote was incorrect, leading to a compromise that still ended up costing slightly more. During installation, they confused my address with my father's, causing further delays and confusion. Additionally, the panels originally quoted were not available, resulting in a smaller system than expected, and critter guard, which was not included in the initial quote, added another $400 to the cost.

Post-installation, I noticed small leaks on my interior walls, which I reported immediately. Project Solar refused to take responsibility, leading to months of unresolved issues. During this time, I also discovered a pigeon infestation due to a 4-inch gap left by the critter guard installed by Project Solar. The nests caused roof damage and leaks during Arizona's monsoon season. After 50 emails, they finally sent someone to address the issue, but the repairs were minimal, and the flood damage inside my home remains unresolved. Moreover, the pigeons have breached the critter guard again. In summary, do not work with this company.

Having spent countless hours/days/weeks trying to decide which solar company to use, dealing with the other guys and their salespeople, it was a breath of fresh air to find Project Solar! Quite aside from fabulous price (which was considerably lower than the nearest competitor), Project Solar’s team do a great job of finding the right balance between being there when you need them, and never hassling you to sign a deal. That kind of approach is (as you’ll find out while shopping for solar) different, very welcome, and a deal-maker for me.

Basically, I saved $6k compared to the nearest competitor, had a great install experience, and feel like I made absolutely the right decision. As I’m building another property, Project Solar will be getting more business from me too - I’m happy enough to unreservedly go straight to them for that project. A highly recommended company, great people, and a truly excellent business model.

There was no sales pressure with Project Solar. Before that, I met with some solar companies as well but it was too much pressure to me. They wanted me to sign immediately. With Project Solar, though I signed up in November, I proceeded the following year. When I was ready, I contacted them and the consultation started. Whenever I called, they took my call. They explained the process, what needed to be done and how I could follow up with my energy provider to get the things done quickly.

My friend and I installed at the same point of time, but mine got activated 20 days. The process was very transparent. I knew what was happening, where I was at each stage. The local contractor was very friendly as well. They also explained how I could reach out to them and Project Solar if there was some problem. The system gives the same features that other big companies give, and it's cost-efficient. For the same amount of kilowatts, my friend installed a higher rate whereas I am done with $13,000 and he paid $24,000. We both are producing the same amount of energy now. If you know how to install things, it's even cheaper.

My experience was very good. I put the order in and they took care of everything. My one complaint was how long it took, but I don't know if that was overly long or if that's just normal. I put the order in in September and it took until May for everything to get turned on. But I was able to track the progress via the website, which was very convenient and the install went very smoothly. They sent their subcontractors out and they got everything put in. One thing is they didn't tell me about critter guard, which is a fencing they can put around the bottom of the solar panel to keep animals from going under the solar panel. I bought that and then the contractors came back out and put it up.

So far, so good. Everything was done like Project Solar said it was gonna happen. Installation took a little longer than they said it would, but that’s simply because of the weather, so that's not a concern. Apart from that, they said it would take two days. Since going solar, we've seen a reduction in our electricity bill. I'm into stats, and it's about 86%. People can't beat the prices, and I was very happy about that.

We contacted an agent and he asked for some information, and my husband filled out the form. Because of Google Apps, the rep could see our roof and dimensions, and he gave the information of how much energy we use. It took a little while for the engineers to get back to us but that was the only delay. Once it was approved, the installation was excellent. The installation people were awesome. They did it one day and just took care of it. We needed to clear out an area in our garage and they cleaned it up. The three men who came in worked in sync. They hardly talked. They just got going and did it. They even touched up the paint. It was a 12-hour day for them but they did not stop until they finished the job. We had 20 panels and for the electricity that we use, that was enough. During the summer months, we produce high energy and it's less in the winter months. But we can have sufficient energy produced by the solar panels.

We recommend to other people that Project Solar’s product is not only good but their installation and service as well. Cost-wise, it has been very reasonable. Other companies were charging almost double to triple. My husband had researched Project Solar to see if it's what they say they are and we've been very happy with the product, the service and how it's holding up, so far.

I reached out to Project Solar and they came back with a proposal. They gave me the name of the local installer and I called them personally and talked to them. Project Solar also gave me a customer that they’ve done installations with and they gave rave reviews. The subcontractor that Project Solar hired to do the installation was awesome. I've been up a little over a year now and things are going well.

The bill comes with a short-term loan, which I just paid off in February, as well as the tax credit that I got back from the government. Then, I have an outstanding loan of 20 grand. So, I kind of pre-paid for my electricity. My bill is capped at $174 a month plus the $25 that Florida Power & Light charges me every month as a base fee. I'm making money because I'm producing more electricity than I'm using. So, Florida Power & Light gives me a one-for-one credit. Last year, I ended up with a little over $300 credit on the account and every month, they just keep taking their $25 out of my $300 account. So, that’s not costing me any money.

Right from putting the deposit down, Project Solar was very communicative. I put the deposit down in April, and it was all the way up until end of August before we got the installers out. We've gone through all the initial process of sending in photos of everything that we needed to do and get the survey done. And there was a month and a bit of silence where I wasn't sure what was going on. So, I contacted them, they explained it to me, and that was fine. They also told me that they were adjusting their processes to make sure that it was clearer upfront. The worst part of the whole process was waiting for all the permits to go through. It took a while. There was a bit of miscommunication at the beginning where they didn't tell me exactly how long the permits could take, but they quickly cleared up any confusion on my end up. So overall, I had a good experience. I've recommended them to everybody I've spoken to that is interested in solar.

If your project isn't cookie cutter, you will probably end up being the project manager. Make sure you have the time and energy to take on this role, and that it's worth your time to do so. My installation ended up taking 14 months from when I signed up with Project Solar and I'm convinced it may have taken longer had I not taken up a part-time job as a project manager specifically following up with Project Solar, their installers, and finally, Enphase.

The local installer Project Solar selected was horrible. They never completed the installation and left faulty wiring that could have resulted in a fire starting in my primary bedroom where I sleep. When I asked Project Solar about this, they ignored my question. Project Solar found another installer and they fixed some issues and then went MIA. I got tired of following up with Project Solar and the various installers so I contacted Enphase directly. Apparently the original local installer had instructed Enphase not to help troubleshoot the issue and come on site. I asked Project Solar about this and they ignored the question. It wasn't until I escalated to Enphase's senior management that Enphase stepped in thankfully. Enphase had to redo my battery installation because of Project Solar and their installer's shoddy work. At this point I also needed Enphase to replace the batteries under warranty because they had died.

Do your research before you decide to go with Project Solar. I had to escalate to Project Solar's CEO (who never responded) and even then, it didn't help to get anything done until I escalated to Enphase. Project Solar's Yelp and BBB pages are filled with issues that some people have had. I would ask Project Solar for their comments on these issues before you go with them. I'd also suggest asking for references from local customers that used the same installer so you could get feedback on the installer as well.

A few departments of Project Solar are okay but not the other departments. They essentially scheduled all the designs and the city permits without in fact inspecting the place to know whether or not the project is feasible. That was an issue. I asked them, “Hey, can you make sure whether you guys can really do it as is, without having to do any modifications?” They said, “Yeah. We can do it.” Later on, they came back and said, “Oops. We can't do it on this floor.” Finding out whether or not they can do it on that floor should have been their first step rather than the fifth step.

Project Solar charged me $1,800 and then sent me to collections. I said, “I'm not gonna pay that money because you're not supposed to charge me that without really knowing whether the project is feasible or not.” It went back and forth, but finally, they apologized and pulled back from the collections thing. That was all a nuisance. I said, “It's unfair for any business to do that, rushing to get that stuff done.” They came back and took care of the issue. So I'm okay now but I'm not a happy customer, and I don't think I will go back to the company. There are a bunch of other options. For my other property, I went with a different company.

I am not one to write a negative review. I in fact cannot remember the last time I had to do so, but this case warrants it. Project Solar has been nothing but incompetent and untruthful. The salesperson that sold me the project stated the work will take no more than 6 months and all equipment is already in inventory. I was also assured no roof work was needed, and they even had an inspection that stated the same. Now the project hits 2 years where I regularly get price increases.

First it was for the panels that now are not in inventory, then it was for the electric panel as their original contractor does not want to do business them. Now after they came and ripped down my roof, they sent me a new price adjustment over 15k without seeking my approval to begin with. In addition, the promised financing is no longer being offered. I had to call them dozens of times and had to offer many corrections due to poor employee training and lack of detail. Since it has costed me thousands in energy costs. They have also forced me to pay out of pocket for things like permitting twice (once again because a falling with another installer). I recommend buyers look for another alternative.
