Recent First American Solar reviews

Geoffry, Castaic, CA: I went solar three years ago with First American. I'm extremely satisfied that, one, they're still in business because solar companies tend to come and go very often. And two, that, there's a 25-year unlimited warranty and they honored it. We had a large issue with some of the componentry. I know it was an expensive fix. The repair process was fantastic. They used a company called APsystems, which is not very good, but that's not them, that was their supplier. And they've told me that since they use a different supplier for inverters, that company gave a bunch of grief about warranting the work. They wanted a bunch of analysis done and all kinds of samples.

In the meantime, I was not generating. I was very firm with going to go and look due to my last one's power bill was out of the world and it was unacceptable. He went ahead and they forced, they pushed and they made the repair. So, I'm very happy with First American. They did my sister's house and that was how they got recommended to me. I've recommended them to a couple of the folks since then.

It was a good experience. Their installers were professionals. They did clean work. The system has been flawless until we had a major malfunction. I didn't know what happened, but one of the inverters melted down, which caused a chain reaction. And that's not due to them. That was due to the ridiculous record winds and heat we've had this year.

Danny, Pasadena, CA: First American Solar did my solar work 8 to 10 months ago by now, and we finalized it January. I had a good experience with them. Communication was very good. I'm very detailed, so they were very accommodating to my details and needs. Even afterward when I had a couple of troubleshooting questions with the program because it was all via app. So, I had to ask other people. The guys came over and took care of it for me. They said, "We're a little busy in the next two days, but we'll come Thursday or Friday." They came out and set it up for me with the new Wi-Fi password because I had to change internet providers. They were very accommodating. And if I had any questions, I know I could call them and they could come out. They're good. Customer service for me is very important and with his guaranteed work and warranties, I was very happy with it. And he has come out even after his job was done.

They were ready to install the panels within a week of contract, but it was a new build. So, it was delayed on my end. And they could have broken the contract because I had surpassed the one year. So, I'm very lucky they didn't because I know the prices went up from a while back. The rep said, "I'm just gonna match it for you." And I got a better product because the product was not being made anymore. So, I got better wattage. They came through good. I did a good size system because it's just the two bedroom, two bath that we did in the back. It does very well. And we get a nice reading. Our utility bills are almost even, not only electricity, including, water and sewer and trash, because we did a big system. So, the city buys the power from us.
