I went in to have my thyroid checked and it was acting up. The doctor had to raise my dose of ** to 175 mcg. I took my prescription to Walgreens to have it filled. When I picked it up, I paid for it with cash because I do not have insurance. I took the medicine for six months and was still having problems with my thyroid. I was tired all the time, I missed work ,and couldn't help take care of my children or my home. My husband was very upset with me. It was a nightmare and the sad thing was I was so tired I couldn't care. I finally went back to the doctor and had my labs checked and they thought maybe there was something else wrong with me. I had to go see a hemotoligistand and have more labs done. Finally they sent me to a endocrinologist. He asked me what medicine I was taking and I told him and needless to say it was wrong. Instead of giving me 175mcg Walgreens gave me 75mcg.
The consequences were: loss of work, weight gain, hair loss, loss of time with my children, loss of money, I could go on and on.

My husband and I went to this Walgreens today, 01/20/08, to pick up 3 prescriptions. We also purchased 2 dog toys. The display where we got the dog toys from was marked $4.00 each but they rung up as $4.99 each. We then spoke to the manager on duty at the time and I took him to where the display was. He then stated that who ever put the display up put them in the wrong boxes. But the boxes clearly stated HARTZ NATURE'S COLLECTION DOG TOYS $4.00 each. I am very dissatisfied with my purchase. The manager on duty then told another employee to put tape or something over the $4.00 price. I believe they should have given me the difference back., but now I think that I should get a full refund for my inconvienince.

After being diagnosed with partial, incomplete seizures over 2 years ago, I was put on a drug called **. After taking this sleep aid your body requires so much of it to stop any future seizures. Walgreen's Pharmacy has been unable to keep a decent supply. After being unable to Re-fill my prescription due to shortages of **, they slipped me a generic substitute in February of 07. After taking the generic brand for almost a month my system crashed and I was taken to St. Anthony's Emergency room where I stayed In ICU for 7 days. After being induced into a comatose state they were able to save my life by giving me direct injections of ** to my stomach and stop my seizures after 11 hours. This incident doubled the amount of medication I had to take and racked up $80,000 in medical bills. This all happened 5 months after I purchased an Investment property to rehab and start my new LLC from.
By the way, neither King Soopers Pharmacy nor my Doctor have ever had trouble finding **. I could soon face foreclosure do to this and a combination of scams like National Consumers Mart, National Grants Conference, just to name a few directed toward the Small Business Owners demise in this nation.

I had a prescription filled at my local Walgreens on November 29, 2007. When I arrived home 30 mins later, I took out my medication and looked at the bottle. I was shocked to see the directions were wrong and the qty was also wrong. I call the pharmacy right away and spoke to the pharmacist. Being a Medical Assistant, I explained the problem and asked the pharmacist to pull the original hard copy of the script. The pharmacist stated, This was the first time she had seen the script and I was correct, my medication was not filled or labeled correctly. All that was offered was, she would re-process my prescription with the correct directions and put the additional medication in the bottle for me to pick up at no charge.
What up-set me so much was, if there is a student pharmacist working under the supervision of the pharmacist, then the pharmacist should look at all prescriptions being filled by the student before being released to the patient. I am assuming that a student filled my prescription, due to the comment the pharmacist made. This was the first time she had seen the script?. Too many errors are being made at the expense of the patients well being.

I was told at Walgreens Pharmacy that my prescription was $45. When I questioned the salesperson about why that was (since my co pay was usually $8) she said hold on, walked away from the drive thru window and started to help other customers at the window. When she returned and asked a question, I repeated the name of the drug several times to confirm that I was indeed getting the right Rx. She then went on to explain that Lamictal was a $300.00 drug and my insurance was covering $250.00 of that. I restated again that the drug that was ordered was **.
I am nine months pregnant and very glad that I was aware enough to not pay for the wrong drug. I believe that customers have a right to decent service without a bad attitude when questioning issues regarding our health and wellness. This is the second issue I have had with poor customer service at Walgreen's pharmacy during this pregnancy. I believe it's time for me to take my business elsewhere.

Called in to get a refill for my prescription (**), spoke to Naji, she confirmed that my prescription would be ready for pick up that day. Went to pick it up, was told by Simon that it is too early to get a refill since my prescription was changed to 2 pills/day instead of 1, they confirmed that they'd call the doctor the next morning and resolve everything and that I had to go back to get my refill. The next day called in and got confirmation that my doctor had renewed the prescription and that all was set for me to go in and pick up the drug. When going there noticed that the price had changed from what I usually paid (tripled), was advised by the cashier that was because instead of 2 25ml pills now I'd get 1 50ml pill. That didn't make much sense, but I had to pay the money and escape the madness as it had been 3 days in a row that I had to take time off work to deal with Duane Reade on the phone.
When going home noticed that the pills had a different name, it was not the generic kind but a brand name which I didn't want. Called the store immediately, spoke to Simon and was advised that nothing could be done at that time since they don't accept returns, was advised to call the next day and speak to Shelby. Did so the next day since with the new brand I was having kind of an allergic reaction. Spoke to Shelby. He said that's what the doctor called and that I could go pick up the generic brand, but I had to pay full price since the insurance wouldn't cover two prescriptions of the same kind in such short amount of time. Was transferred to the store manager Russell, who kept claiming that he had no idea and that I had to speak to Shelby, this kept going back and forth for about 2 hours... at the end Russell said to go to the store, bring the receipt back, and get my money back.
Did so, when going there and meeting with Russell he acted like he had no idea who I was or what I was doing there, then when reminded he said, "Where are the drugs" while I was told multiple times by all the person contacted that it's illegal to take the drugs back, and was never asked for the drugs to be brought in over the phone anyway. Then, he claimed that no credit could be issued at that time and that I had to bring in my drugs, and be left without medication since the other drugs would not be covered by the insurance. He started acting all confused and was completely out of synch to what the pharmacist was saying, they kept contradicting each other to whether or not I should bring my meds back, so I left the store frustrated and am left with the brand I am allergic to. All this frustration and waste of time only because Duane Reade lacks proper training and hires morons that have no idea what their purpose in that store is..

More than half the time I pick up a prescription and the count is off. Usually it is just one pill and maybe they figure I won't bother coming back. Yesterday I pick up two precriptions for my 79 yr old mother; they were morphine and 3 pills were missing. Of course, they always say they are counted twice, etc.
I told them to check their inventory. They told me to come back to talk to the pharmacist on Monday because he is not there over the weekend. I will report this to the Texas Pharmacy Board, DEA and anyone else I can think of. I am an overworked caregiver and am tired of counting pills and Walgreens pulling this on me.
I suffer enough from arthritis and fibromyalgia. I have cared for my widowed and infirm mother for the past ten years who until six months ago, lived three hours away from me in another state.

I mailed in several RX's for my daughter which were received on July 3rd at Walgreens mail service Portland branch. By July 6th, I still had not heard anything so I called to find out the status. The representative I spoke to told me there was a hold up in obtaining an RX. I asked which and was told ** Insulin first of all, my daughter is not on that prescription of insulin and two I mailed in prescriptions for ** insulin and ** Insulin. I informed the rep of this and was put on eternal hold and h finally got back on to tell me you're right...they are correcting the error now.
Several days go by, no prescriptions in my mail and then suddenly my bank calls. They informed me Walgreen's Mail order service charged my visa debit card $295.00 TWICE. I immeadiately get on the phone and am told by the representative at Walgreens that I will have to wait up to 48 hours for a refund to my debit card. I said this was unacceptable, it was their error not mine.
I asked to speak to a supervisor who told me the same thing. When I asked if Walgreens was going to cover my overdraft fee's I was basically told it was their policy to email the accounting department about errors and it was usually 48 hours for a correction. I then asked to be transferred to the accounting department and was told they accept no incoming phone calls. I was told a request for rush processing will be requested for my refund. Well...it was 2 days later that I was refunded. This will be my LAST time using their mail order service!
I think it's fraudulent business practice to double charge and then take 2 business days to process a refund. I have the choice of using another mail order service through my insurance and will be next time! Oh and by the way, my prescriptions were mailed out July 11th. Eight days from July 3rd to process them! Unbelievable...

I have one or two pills missing from my prescriptions on occasion. They've admitted in the past that there is sometimes an error in the scale and have reimbursed me for those pills. This time, the pharmacist says,I am mistaken, they NEVER have made a mistake and I am the ONLY one who has ever made such an accusation against them. In talking to the day manager today, July 17, 2007, he also says that I am the ONLY complaint that they have ever recieved. The pharmacists told me that this isn't possible because they have 10 cameras recording 24 hours a day in the pharmacy. I'm wondering how they can afford to hire 30 people a day to review these tapes??

On 04/11/07 My doctor prescribed ** 10 mg program #30. I took this LONG ** along with ** 75 MG program also added to this was ** 200MG program #30. All this was to wean me off ** completely in the end result. After 30 days I went back to Dr. for Med. check. He then told me he was keeping me on 299mg of ** program, bring the ** down to 37.5 mg, till it was gone. He also put the ** to 20mg so that the transition would go smoothly for me. I got the prescription filled and took it for 30 days... At the end of the 30 days the Dr. told me he wanted me to stay on the 20mg of **, my transition was not as smooth as he though it would be.
When I got that prescription fill and went to take it it was a different looking pill than the month before. All of this was to be ** but a generic brands. The filled prescription did not have the the reek name of of drug next to the generic name on any of the prescriptions. The first filled prescription was ** 10 mg, a small white round pill. The second months prescription was ** 20 mg - this was a small round pink pill not ** that that the Dr. wanted me on. Now all this got by me because when Mg. are changed the color of the pill is also more times than no so this can be identified of mg's.
Third month, Dr. keeping me on @0 mg of ** I got the prescription filled only to now find a capsule that is white with a green strip on it. I still had the printed out paper and empty med bottle and discovered that I was given a different prescription the second month and did not know what it was because on the bottles and the print out paper there was no name brand printed on any of all of these.
I took the bottles to the Pharmacy and asked what the current prescription was, was told it was **. Then I asked what ** 20 mg was. They told me it was **. (No wonder I didn't have a smooth transition as the Dr wanted me to have.) because this was the wrong medicine. I was told that the Dr. didn't write the prescription clear enough. I disagree. This is the Pharmacy's fault all around because there was no name brand name on any of the prescriptions for me to catch the error. I wonder how many times this happens. I also notice that there is one RPh on duty and many tect. who are filling the prescriptions. Many times there are many, many prescriptions that they are filling and the person has a long wait. I feel that is the RPh to check the persons record on file and if not sure they should call the doctor to make sure he prescribed a different prescription based on this was said it was a program I was on.
I do not feel that just returning my money for both of the prescriptions and a gift cert. for $20.00 is the proper way to handle this matter. This was my body and my health that I suffered an unnecessary disruption because of the error. I have all copies of my printed prescriptions and the empty bottles so that you may make a better restitution to this matter. I will wait to hear from you on this matter before I hand this over to my Lawyer. I feel Walgreens needs to better defend the matter in which they go about filling prescriptions. The way it is done now leaves a person vulnerable to taking the right medicine that a Dr. prescribes. It is also a known fact that two days Christ was born that Dr's writing is chicken scratch so don't blame the Dr's for it.

I was told that drug didnt come in from Manhattan and that it would be there Monday. I called Monday morning and was told the order would be in after 1 PM. I called after 2 PM and was told that it wasnt in and that it would be in tomorrow after 1 PM, which set me off since I told the person on Sunday, June 30, 2007 that my mother was down to her last bottle and I can not play games of calling all the time; the person on Sunday ensured me that the meds was to be in the store Monday.
Then when I told the person on the phone that this was unacceptable I was told that she couldnt help me if I continue talking, I told her then I need to speak to someone else, and she transfer me the person I spoke to this morning. Who told me that my mother called for the refill on Friday, June 29, 2007 and that they dont bring in the store on Friday so unless she was on the phone when 911 was called at 9:30 am, my mother didnt talk to her on the phone. As I try to voice my complaint with the service they continue to cut me off which upset me more and more.
A week has nearly gone by and my mother doesnt have her meds, she comes home from the hospital July 3, 2007. And this isnt the first time this has happen, when this store open we never experience this problem, but lately this is happening more and more. Several of us in Jefferson City have filed with the Missouri Commission on human rights recently and are in hopes of getting some assistance to address a corporation that clearly has no accountability.
Walgreen's limits the way a complaint is handled and most of the time simply does not investigate and will not return calls to employees making complaints as well as customers making complaints. My Mother who is 73 has her prescriptions filled at Walgreens. She recently had a problem with one of the Pharmacist in filling her prescription that is filled all the time at walgreens. She was needing her Inhaler and asked the Pharmacist what is the cost? He told her well I will have to look that up, he read the prescription and told her it would be 157.00 dollars without ever looking up the drug. She explained to him that she has never paid that amount being on Medicare. He asked her if her insurance information was in their system, she replied yes as I come to walgreens all the time, he therefore, told her again without looking up any information its 157.00. My mother did not fill the prescription as she knew the price did not sound accurate.
I returned to the walgreens with her the next day. Asking the Pharmacist what is the price on this prescription? This person was very rude and said do you have insurance. I explained to her yes but here is the card again if there is a problem. She looked up the Insurance info and threw the card at me and said this is already updated in a very nasty tone, and said the drug would be 5.00. So I began to explain to her that my mother was told 157.00 the day before? Very snotty she responded I don't know what to tell you.
I asked for a comment card at that point as I wanted to complain and I was told there are no comment cards. My mother has been thru this behavior before with Walgreens Pharmacy and I have witnessed many times the senior Citizens that go to walgreens treated extremely bad by the Pharmacy because they don't care or want to take the time to help these people. My mother has been over charged many times and I have had to go back to the pharmacy and get a refund for the overpayment.
It is difficult for many Senior Citizens to get the correct help they need and if we cant depend on Pharmacy's to help them get the medication they need without being over charged then Walgreens should consider getting out of the Pharmacy business or hiring Pharmacist that can provide decent customer service.

I went back again at 5:30pm and waited once again in the drive-thru for 45 minutes!

I just started a new job and didn't have the ins cards, so i requested to pick up the sleep med tonight (7 days later) no problem. On July 11th 2006 I went to the Duane Reade pharmacy located at 224 west 57th street. I had just gone to the doctor and was prescribed an anti-depressant and a sleep medication (**, and **). It was around 3:30 when I dropped them off and came to pick them up at around 9:30 that evening. Nothing out of the ordinary, I didn't realize until July 20th at around 1am that I had the wrong medication. It was indicated by the doctor to start taking the anti-depressant in stages. The first ten days I was only to take 1 tablet at bedtime and after that 2 tablets at bedtime, and only 1/2 a tablet of the sleep medication. I noticed that there weren't 51 tablets of the anti-depressant left and so I began to worry and noticed that there was a lot of the sleep medication.
After counting and doing an online search by the codes imprinted on the tablets themselves did I realize that the bottles were mislabeled and that I was not taking the anti-depressant. I was just taking the sleep medication at a higher dosage than necessary, and not taking as much of the anti-depressant. Needless to say that at this point I was completely angry, nervous and scared because I had been taking the wrong medicine. I began to panic since I do take other medication that I have filled at this pharmacy regularly, and they control my asthma. I went to the pharmacy that evening at 11:30pm with my boyfriend. I was really scared nervous since I didn't know what to do. I went to that pharmacy and asked to speak to the pharmacist I waited for awhile, then asked to speak to the manager.
When my boyfriend mentioned that we were filing an official complaint then we got service. I explained to the pharmacist what was going on and he said he represented the company and that on their behalf all they could do was to make sure that the medication was indeed mislabeled. At this point the store manager came out to speak to us and suggested that by taking the wrong medication it had placebo effect on me. When in fact I was feeling more tired than usual and having trouble waking up and feeling light headed in the mornings. That isn't really a placebo effect if you ask me. Then the pharmacist came out and wanted to take the medication and relabel them and contact my doctor which of course I had already done.
Then the store manager offered to give me back the money I paid as co-payment which at the time I thought was 12 dollars each and then realized that it was only 2 dollars. I don't think that two dollars is really any compensation for the discomfort I feel right now. I feel betrayed by them. I blindly put my life in their hands. This time it was an anti-depressant and a sleep aid. Next time it can be my asthma medication and then I will really be in big trouble.
This isn't the first time. I have had problems at this pharmacy while picking up my birth control patch two months ago. The pharmacist asked me in an accusatory manner what I had done with the patches since their records show that I had gone to pick up the medication 3 days prior to that. I told them that I didn't have anymore and that I hadn't been there in a month. Then he checked and realized that they had entered incorrectly to my insurance and gave me my script. I don't know what to really do other than to file a complaint. They gave me the wrong medicine, and now I don't know where to get it filled. It's just that it is something so crucial for me. If I take the wrong medicine I could die because some pharmacist wasn't paying attention.

I have a number of grave illnesses requiring medications. Duane Reade at 14th Street and 7th Avenue in Manhattan has in the last 6 months or so has lost two of my prescriptions. I had to call my doctor to have her mail me a second prescription. Fortunately, I had some remaining to hold me over until the replacement was obtained. Without those, I would have been in serious trouble. I registered a complaint with a person, a woman, but not Chin (see later), and she apologized for the lost prescription. To add to my difficulties with Duane Reade, I had a friend pick up two prescriptions for blood clots on August 17, 2005, a potentially life threatening condition. One was for oral ** while the second was for injectable **. I take one tablet of ** nightly and inject myself twice daily with the **.
When my friend arrived home, he only had the **. As it was already late and being fearful that I would not have the ** for that evening I made the trip to Duane Reade myself. As I am homebound due to extreme exhaustion, this was a difficult thing for me to do. Arriving after 9 pm I found the pharmacy area of Duane Reade closed. If it had not been for the quick action of the manager, who unlocked the gate of the pharmacy and gave me the ** which was right there, I would have been in a potentially life threatening situation.
I have receipts to document the hours of pick-up of the two drugs showing that the ** was picked up at 9:29 pm, after the pharmacy was closed, while the ** shows a pick-up before the close of the pharmacy. The manager acknowledged that he did not have the authority to dispense prescriptions but recognizing the seriousness of the situation, he unlocked the gate to the pharmacy area and gave me my prescription. No actions should be taken against the manager as he did what was necessary! He demonstrated leadership and compassion.
I just called Duane Reade, and spoke with Chin, to inquire about my prescriptions and I was given erroneous information as to what was prescribed for me. I complained and told her about her information and told her about the lost prescriptions. She said, "We did not lose any of your prescriptions". When confronted with a denial of what had transpired communication broke down.
I then spoke with Tim, an assistant manager, and he very graciously took the information and with concern told me that he was e-mailing the complaint onto persons higher in Duane Reade. He apologized. There was no need for him to apologize as he had not made any mistakes but to the contrary had been very compassionate and helpful. I have only good things to say about the management personnel of the store.
This sort of abuse of pharmacy procedures by Duane Reade is not acceptable and must be addressed. Acknowledgement of responsibility when prescriptions are lost or misplaced is essential. Only then can corrective action be taken by the responsible party, in this case the pharmacy at Duane Reade. A person could die because of actions like losing prescriptions and like not dispensing prescriptions in a timely manner.

I was just kicked out of a Duane Reade store! I walked in, my backpack beeped, and I was approached by a security person named Joseph Enice. He spoke to me in what could be called jibberish, to the extent that I could understand some of the words he was using but they made no sense put together. I was surprised my this because, as a professor, I work with many adult students who have strong accents or a weak ability to speak English. In any event, after several attempts at understanding him, with my repeated explanation that I did not understand what he was saying, and with him raising his voice to the point of yelling at me, I attempted to clear up the situation by walking back to the door and passing my bag through the sensors to recreate the beep.
The guard continued to speak in words that made no sense, and continued yelling, which made me feel very scared and threatened. I genuinely could not understand what was happening and what he wanted and lifted my bag to him so that he could search through it, which he did not do. I continued to repeat that I didn't understand what he was saying. He didn't attempt to find someone who could understand the both of us. Instead, of all a sudden he became very lucid and said You can't understand what I say? Go 'till you don't beep. What did this mean? I had never ever in my life been kicked out of a public business for no reason.
I asked for a manager, who was also of no help except to explain that the guard was doing his job. The guard kept yelling at me in a way that NO ONE has and I asked the manager to mediate before I called someone else (the police) to mediate. Still, no one attempted to search my bag, which I had already willingly offered. None of it made sense but, not knowing what to do, I left. Feeling horribly shaken and alarmed, I returned to obtain their names and am confused about what do about this situation.
The economic damage is, of course, that I do not have the benefit of sales offered by Duane Reade on that day. I stopped shopping and came home because I felt so shaken and skared. I also feel very humiliated and confused. Is it OK to be denied admittance to a business for no apparent reason?

I was appalled the way I was treated at Duane Reade located at 405 Lexington Ave and 42nd St I was threaten both verbally and physically by the store manager named Eric and his assistant on January 22nd at about 3:15 p.m.
I entered the store to ask for a refund on the roll of film I purchased on December 31st from the store located at 1 Penn Plaza. The box was opened but was not used. The cashier walked away to the back to ask for store manger if I can return it. She came back with a replay that since it was opened and purchased last year I cannot return it. I can only exchange it. I asked if I can speak to the store manager since the receipt clearly states refunds require a receipt which I have. She pointed me to the back where his office was.
I went to his office and asked why I cannot get a refund since I have my receipt. He said he cannot because it was opened. I reasoned with him that no where in the receipt that states you cannot take it back on opened box item. We went back and forth on the reasoning. In the mist of it, he blurred out that I should watch my mouth since my voice was raised a bit, but in no way a shouting volume. I was offended.
I asked for his name and phone number of the corporate office to file my complaint. In the mist of him writing down the information, I took my phone out to take his picture to send along with my complaint. He went ballistic and threatens to call the police to come and arrest me. He tore the information he was about to give me to pieces. I started walking but his assistant grabbed my arm and held me hostage. Eric started to threaten me several times by saying that I was to get by ass whipping for taking his picture. He threatened to take me outside in the snow and cold to harm me. I was horrified and feared for me life.
Even after I apologized for taking his picture and deleted it, he was still threaten my life and his assistant was still holding me back against by will. After several more minutes of enduring his threat, he finally let me go without a refund.
I left the store fearful for my life. I thought he was going to hurt me and left me out in the cold.
No one should have been treated the way I was treated. Managers should have been trained properly to handle customer complaints instead of threatening peoples lives.

I asked my Mother to go to Duane Reade to fill my six-year-old Daughter's prescription for antibiotics on the morning of Oct. 19, 2004. I needed to stay home to look after my daughter.
When my mother brought the bottle of cefaclor home, I noticed that -as usual- the lot number and expiry date had been covered over by the label that is added on to the bottle at the pharmacy.
When I peeled back the label , I was astounded to find that the expiry date was 11/04. This meant the entire bottle of medication would be losing its potency and become officially unusable 2 days after my daughter finished her course of medication.
There would be no room for error or making up a skipped dose, which often happens with children.
This, to me, was too close for comfort and unacceptable.
When I phoned the pharmacy to explain that I wanted fresh stock, the first person I spoke to initially agreed my situation was unacceptable and said something would be done about it,and transferred me to the pharmacist.
The pharmacist apologised and explained this happened because the medication was not commonly used anymore, and anyhow, the medication would be OK until the end of November. She seemed to be intimating I should administer the medication anyway, even though I didn't feel comfortable about it.
I truly can't accept any of that, especially the bit about the expiry date, since one would commonly take an expiry date to mean that the product is not viable when the point in time described on the label has been reached.
As I began to pursue the matter, making phonecalls to other locations to see who would have fresh stock, I encountered reactions that ranged from supportive to argumentative.
I found fresh stock in the Merrick Duane Reade and had to ask my parents to travel there to pick up a fresh bottle of medication while I stayed home with my daughter.
When I called back to the Franklin Square location to arrange a switch, the pharmacist had grown considerably less than apologetic and called it a courtesy to allow me to obtain fresh stock, complaining that she was going to have to take a loss on a $10 dollar bottle of medication.
Luckily, no physical harm came to my daughter, but I had to involve my whole family in the search for fresh medication.
I will never take my business to another Duane Reade pharmacy ever again, and I urge anyone buying prescription medications there to check the expiry dates of the bulk medication jars before they have any prescritions filled.

Another time...I watched the pharmacist count out pills using their hands...As a nurse I know this is not the way to handle medications...When I asked her about that, her reply was that she had just washed her hands...It seems no one in the Duane Reade store is trained properly...They hire the cheapest help they can find and along with this the less educated...
The Duane Reade Drug store needs to be sited by the health department for the way they sell undated milk and unsanitary way they handle counting medications.
Thank you, Beverly Burk

On January 29,2003. I bought a carton of Pall Mall cigarettes for my mother. I asked for filtered cigarettes. I was given non-filtered cigarettes. When I got home and gave them to my mother she said that they were not filtered. I tried to return to store but manager said they were not transferable after leaving the store. I feel this is not fair because I did ask for filtered cigarettes and the person you had working at this branch made the mistake. My mother cannot smoke these cigareets due to the fact they ar not filter. Therefore, Now she has lost alot of money due to a mistake one of your employees made.
My mother is a 70 year old woman, with an income only from S.S. which is not much. Please advise if there is anything that can be done to correct this situation. Thanking you in advance for your help.
My mother is a 70 year old woman who has a nervous condition and needs to smoke her cigarettes. She does not have a big income and not being able to exchange these cigarettes would be a financial burden to her not to mention the stress she will have due to the fact that these cigarettes will be lost due to an error not made by me but your employeee. As I explained above this was an error on your empolyees part I feel that we should be able to have these exchanged for filtered cigarettes.

After receiving an Rx from Dr. Rigoberto Franco in February for **, I went to the above mentioned Walgreens's and was informed that in order for my insurance to cover it, Walgreens's would need an authorization number from the doctor. I informed my doctor's office and they took care of it. I received an authorization letter from the insurance company and went back to Walgreens's (NABP #1083562) only to be told again that it was NOT authorized.
I went to the doctor's office and they copied the info. that had been faxed to the ins. carrier as well as the approval letter from the insurance company. I took it to the pharmacy and was told that it was NOT authorized and Walgreens's gave me a number for my doctor's office to call. I called again and the doctor's office called again. Long story, short - Seven (7) times is what the insurance has record of authorization for this medication - I have yet to receive it once! Each attempt I have made to pick up my (covered) **, the same NO authorization from the Walgreens's staff.
I tried, (after being on hold half an hour), to explain to the pharmacist (Bob **) my dilemma and if he could call the helpline with Merck Medco and was rudely informed that this was my problem and that my doctor's office was to blame. Merck Medco was kind enough to make a 3-way call for me to this pharmacy to let Walgreens's know that it was indeed Walgreens's mistake. This particular Walgreens's seem to be understaffed, overworked and hostile against the patrons...even the pharmacist could not have been less concerned with this situation and even called me back to inform me that he had called the insurance carrier and found out that I was NOT approved.
A phone call to the insurance carrier proved that he had NOT called them at all. One might expect this behavior from a clerk but certainly not a professional representing Walgreens's!
I have been dealing with this situation for a little over a month ... doctor kind enough to give samples until Walgreens's could get things right. Arthritis is not a pleasant thing to deal with - Thank goodness for medication that allows movement and less pain. Have spent hours trying to obtain my ** from Walgreens's and spoken to by the pharmacist on duty, as well as the staff, as if RUDE was a company requirement.

Went to Amazon to order Rogaine - pushed to Drugstore.com - received quickly a cheap bottle of underarm deoderant and no Rogaine. Shipped it back.
I have lost the use of 50+ dollars. I suspect this is a systematic approach to money management (probably advised by recent partner AOL). By delaying my order, Amazon or Drugstore get to use my $55+ as a float. Fraud.

I went to the Walgreens in Frankfort to pick up my daughter's prescription, after it had been dropped off for approximately 4 hours. I waited 7 people deep in line. Upon my turn I gave the name, the employee shuffled through prescriptions, it was not yet filled. As I was waiting for the prescription to be filled I noticed the Pharmacist that was filling my daughter's prescription on a phone call. At that point I told him to forget it and give me the slip back. He then told me it would only be 2 minutes, I informed him I wanted him to give the mixing of my child's medication his undivided attention.
When I arrived at home I was so aggravated with my experience I called the manager to voice my complaint about the chance of error. The manager proceed to make excuses for the pharmacist, he was busy, they are short handed because of the flu. I told the manager he was not understanding my complaint. THE PHARMACIST SHOULD NOT BE "MULTI-TASKING". HE SHOULD BE GIVING HIS UNDIVIDED ATTENTION TO THE MIXING OF MEDICATIONS.
My insurance works through Walgreens; I have no choice but to deal with their care-less attitude. I am worried too with them growing to such a large company, how many errors will the pharmacist have to make before they will allow him to concentrate on his job.

I had my whole family's medications provided by Walgreenss and it was excellent service at first, when the store was establishing customers. I thought this is neat, a pharmacy that is open 24 hours a day. I have a busy schedule and the medications have to be there, we order medications 9-12 monthly every month. My youngest takes 8 different medications a day; and CAN NOT go without them.
But after six months we began to have problems. Medications were continually not filled when they were needed, even though they were given a week to get the doctors approval. They kept blaming the doctors office for not faxing the approval over to them. Than I got upset with the doctors office; when I found out it wasn't the doctors office at all, they had faxed Walgreenss every time and had proof through there records that they had been faxed. Then they said it was because they had over 5000 customers ... but when you need medications you can't set around and wait, you need them filled in a timely manner.
There were even times they told me I never called it in. Well after many months I decided to which to another pharmacy so that I wasn't running back in forth for our medications. We finally have found a pharmacy that delivers right to our door, who if need be will front us medications on renewals if the doctor doesn't get back to us right away.

On Friday, September 22, 2000 at approximately 12:30pm I entered the Duane Reade located at 224 West 57th Street in Manhattan, New York. I had two (2) prescriptions to be filled; **. I was in dire need of **. I got the prescriptions and went back to my office. I took the prescription and afterwards, I looked at it. I discovered that it was the "WRONG" drug. I called the pharmacy and was told to come back. I brought the container with me. The manager, ** and I went to speak with the Pharmacist, **. He said that he had filled the prescription.
I informed him that he gave me the wrong drug. I was in need of taking the right one BUT now had to wait four (4) hours because the drugs cannot be taken together. I was already in need and now had to suffer for four more hours. The pharmacist, **, in front of the manager was completely cavalier and nonchalant about the entire ordeal including the mental anguish it caused me. He attempt to suggest that I switched the drugs. I went back to my office and got the other prescription and brought it into the manager, ** so he could witness the idiocy suggested by this pharmacist. I was appalled, nervous and extremely worried over what took place.
Afterwards I got in touch with the district manager Frank ** who was of little help. Evidently Duane Reade does not understand the ramifications of a Pharmacist giving out the WRONG prescriptions. When I stated such to the **, he said, "Yeah I just got done smoking HASH in the back". This is completely unacceptable even unfathomable behavior, and before I file a $25 million dollar lawsuit against Duane Reade, I would appreciate any help, guidance or assistance that you can give me.

On Sunday morning I was filling my weekly pill container when I realized I would be out of one of my meds. I looked at the date and saw it had just been refilled 8-13-00. I saw the bottle had a circle around the quantity. I went to Walgreens and talked to Mr. Lee the pharmacy manager. He told me they do that when they verify counts on controlled medication.

Luckily, I did not try the toothpaste. I would not want to risk it. The economic loss is $5.98, plus the loss of the rebate. However, my main concern, promoting a rebate that is not valid and second, selling expired toothpaste.
