Last Saturday night I went to the CVS on Lake Murray Boulevard in Irmo, SC to get a prescription filled. The prescription was filled promptly. The service offered by employee, India, was superb. Danny, front cashier, was very attentive, also. Fantastic job!

My son has a terminal illness and is on disability. Due to recent changes to Aetna insurance we were told that his current pharmacy could not fill his prescriptions on any longer and we would now have to go to CVS to get his prescriptions. We live in Rome Georgia and went to the new CVS 24 hour pharmacy in which the pharmacy manager told us she would not fill his prescriptions due to the location of his Doctor and I informed her that his normal pharmacy said we had to go to CVS and if there were any questions to have her call him and she still refused to fill his prescriptions.
We had to go back to the pharmacy he used before he got the approval to fill them. His pharmacy couldn't believe she refused to fill his medication because just looking at him you could clearly see he had a serious illness and was in bad shape. She didn't care and wouldn't even call the other pharmacy. I hope this gets to someone who cares. How can she be allowed to do this and what can I do to see to it she doesn't do this to another person like my son?

This complaint is for the CVS at 1800 Vandalia St. in Collinsville, IL. My family and I used Walgreens to fill all of our prescriptions for several years. We loved them and never had any problems with them. When we would order prescriptions, they would always be ready before the scheduled time, and everyone at the pharmacy knew us by name. By the time our insurance changed, and we had to start using CVS.
We start using CVS and the problems just never stop. My full first name is spelled slightly differently from the traditional spelling, so places usually get it wrong. I recently reminded my doctor, once they changed over to an electronic system and it was easier for them to alter it, that my name is spelled Kathyrn - not Kathryn. That same day, I had to pick up my antidepressant (if I miss a pill for it, I am at risk of having seizures). They denied me my prescription because my name did not match, and my insurance was not going to pay for it. I told them about the situation, and I was told that they would correct my name in the system, and that I could wait for my prescription. The next time I went to pick up a prescription, my name was spelled incorrectly, so I just gave up.
This past fall, my mother took my siblings to get flu shots at this same CVS. She stood at the counter, without being acknowledged, for several minutes before she had to ask for assistance. No one appeared to be doing anything while she was standing there, and the two employees who were working (one technician and one pharmacist) kept looking at her while she stood there. She was finally approached by the pharmacist, and when she said she had come to get flu shots for her and her children, she was told that they had "run out of needles" and could not give them flu shots. What. No. It's flu season. What are you doing running out of flu shots? And your sign says you have them available. Don't waste our time. They all then went over to the Walgreens we used to go to, and they were immediately taken care of.
About a month ago, when I went to pick up a prescription, I was told that I was not signed up for text alerts when I had been receiving them for several months. I told the technician, and he said that they did not have it on file, and that he could take my phone number and get them set up. I gave it to him and I have not gotten text alerts about my prescriptions since.
Late last year, I had to go pick up one of my mother's prescriptions. It is a controlled substance, so I went inside, prepared for them to take everything they could get and make me wait for it. I wandered around the store for well over an hour after dropping it off and then checked with them again. Even though I was told they would call my name when it was done, they apparently "forgot" and didn't. It had likely been ready for a while. When I dropped it off, he asked for my license, and I gave it to him, making it clear the prescription was for my mother, and that I was just picking it up.
When it was ready, he asked for it again, and I gave it to him, explaining it was my mother's once again. He then started treating me like I was the scum of the earth and stopped looking me in the eye while he was speaking to me. He had me wait while he got the prescription that was just filled, and I was told was filled, and I waited several minutes before he returned with it, dropped it on the table, took my money, and then went to the back of the pharmacy like he was busy (there was no one else there, and he was just standing around).
Now that the new law about controlled pain medications is in place, I am terrified of going to pick up another of her prescriptions. I never know if I'm going to be treated like a person or if they're going to treat me like some punk young kid wanting to steal my mother's medication. Additionally, every time I go to pick up one of her prescriptions, they are NEVER ready on time. The worst was when she had a bladder infection, and our doctor called in a prescription for her. They told her it would be ready by 3pm.
I went to pick it up for her through the drive-thru, and I was told it wasn't ready, and that I should just pull around again because there were people waiting behind me. I pulled around, got back to the window, and it was still not ready. I was told to repeat the process three more times, and I finally just sat in the parking lot for a while and then went back up to the window. It was still not ready. Another sitting session in the parking lot, a full hour after first arriving at the window, it was finally ready for me to take home to her.
I don't want to go there anymore. I don't want to worry that I'm going to run out of one of my two regular medications and be screwed because they don't realize what would happen if I can't take them. I don't want to deal with their shoddy computer system. I don't want to deal with their poor customer service. I just want to go back to the Walgreens that's right across the street, but I can't. Our insurance is no longer accepted by them.

CVS on Washington Rd in East Peoria IL. I picked up a pain pill prescription as I have done every month all year for my husband. A pharmacy employee called out in front of every customer and employee that I had been picking it up 3 days early for the last 2 months and the government was cracking down on possible abuse and next month I would have to wait the full 30 days. Scripts are for 30 days but over a year 4 months have 31 days. Over the year I am really one day short. I am not abusing the system. Regardless of the rules and count she should have talked to me in private not embarrass me in front of everyone. I was so upset when I got home I called the store to talk to her manager only to find she is the manager. I then went on line with cvs to complain but could not find a place in their website to report my experience.

In 2007 I had an intraspinal tumor removed (2 back articulations are now missing, the entire front bone is out where the problem was). It was a really big surgery, and I am still suffering because of it. Internal scar tissue formed, touching all the spinal nerves, and giving me a big, big pain (never knew what pain really was before this).
I saw neurosurgeons from Beverly Hills, Chicago and Miami and all of them told me it is no cure for me (trying to remove this tissue will make it worst, because it will grow back even more). Solutions? Pain Management... I have to see a dr monthly, he fills the prescription for me (**, which I am taking for 5 years now, and never ever took more that 4 a day, and believe me, it is a big deal since the body goes used to, and the effect is not the same like in the first year).
I am having Humana insurance, which is using CVS and Walmart only. CVS IS LYING ABOUT NOT HAVING THE PILLS! I've been in 6 locations, the same story. Is that possible? Is not like I am taking these pills because I want to. It makes nothing to me, just taking a little pain away, in order to be able to function. The staff is rude, keeps repeating loudly that there are narcotics... I know what they are! Why are they doing this? Is a legit prescription, I have a real problem. I did tried any other way to get rid of this pain (including back shots, steroids, physical therapy, etc). I will change the insurance, go back to my Publix pharmacy, and never ever go to CVS again. It isn't ok to treat people like this. It is not my fault that I am suffering chronic pain 24 hrs a day...

Criticized my pharmacy's way of doing business, nicely with no foul language, and was immediately shut down and also red-flagged. He gave me the reason; I lived in another town. I had been getting my meds there for about 8 years, my Doctor is right next door to them, so it was very convenient. I asked if this was a DEA RULE/region, he said no, it was his. Now I get my meds sent to me in FLORIDA from Ohio. That makes a lot of sense. CVS Corporate told me based on the type of medication, which was just reclassified by the DEA, they stand behind their pharmacists. This is BLATANT DISCRIMINATION.

Store # 9242 - 27750 Santa Margarita Parkway in Mission Viejo, California 92691: This particular issue has occurred three times in the past 6 months, each time I have tried to get my prescription refilled. I call the pharmacy in the morning around 10:00 AM. Each time I explain to them that I have a prescription that needs to be refilled and transferred from a different pharmacy. I go to the doctor every 8 weeks; he gives me a prescription with one refill for 4 weeks after the appointment. The other pharmacy is closer to the doctor so I get it filled there. CVS is closer to my house so I want to refill it 4 weeks later at CVS. You would think this would not be a problem. When I call the pharmacist will act like it’s such a burden to have to call the other pharmacy but I explain to them that this was what I was asked to do for the refill. Then they agree and the phone call ends.
When I call back around 4:00 to make sure that it was done so that I can pick it up at 6:00, they act like they have never heard to the earlier phone call and start acting again like I am inconveniencing them. They say they will call and get it done just to get me off the phone. Then, when I finally call on my way home at 6:00, they again act like I am bothering them and finally get a response that they have not even called the other pharmacy yet. The worst part is that he then says to me “Ma'am, I am sorry but there are 30 people ahead of you!” I know that was not the case when I called at 10:00 AM that morning!
This is the third time this has happened. Are they just too lazy and inconvenienced to make one phone call? They never even called me to let me know there was an issue with filling my prescription or to let me know what was going on and that I may not have it that day. There are other pharmacies very close to them and I would suggest they get their act together and start being not only more efficient with better policies and procedures on these circumstances, but nicer to the client!

I have once complained to the corporation, yet no improvement still. A year away and I decided to return to the Cvs in grafton and they were once again nasty. It took 18 hours for them to fill something I said that I needed right away and despite me telling them it needed to be processed that day for insurance reasons, they did not do it. Instead information and attitude was they said, "Ya and there is only three of us." I am glad that I did not have an emergency. They would be no help at all probably sending me away due to being busy. SAD.

My husband's doctor called a prescription to the Barberton, Ohio CVS Pharmacy on 1/6/15. Husband went to pick it up on 1/8/15, more than 48 hours after it was electronically submitted. It was not ready. Husband returned later in the day to pick it up and brought it home. It was incorrectly filled. Husband called doctor office to verify what the prescription was that was called in and was informed of the correct one. Office also gave him the verification number for the electronic prescription. He returned to the pharmacy, spoke with the pharmacist, who was rude and no help at all. She advised that the prescription was the one they had on file from over a year ago, that they did not have the new prescription and that she could not take the wrong meds back and refund the $60 that my husband paid. Besides, she said, they didn't have the meds to fill the new prescription!!!
Pharmacist could have been more civil and helpful. Pharmacy could have called us to inform that there would be a delay until they received the correct meds. Pharmacist could have further researched to find the correct prescription as we have the confirmation that they received it. An apology, which seems to be beyond her capacity, would have been nice. This particular CVS store has a history of bad service in the pharmacy but we thought the new pharmacist and staff were an improvement. Well, no. It's even worse than in the past. And our business will go elsewhere - something that we've heard from other ex-customers.

When I ordered a refill of a prescription by automated telephone, it was identified by my giving the store Rx # **. I waited 7 days and called the store to see if it was ready. The automated telephone service said that it was not ready. I continued to call back every day and the automated service repeated it still was not ready. Finally, today, I went in to the store and was told that it was ready, but it could not be identified by phone since it had been assigned a new prescription number which was Rx # **. This is a failure of the CVS automated telephone system. Can it be corrected?

We could always drop off a prescription and have it filled the next day. We are expecting dangerous weather tonight into tomorrow. I will have to find a way to the drugstore to bring this prescription in to be filled. I have been very disappointed with CVS and I am really thinking of switching to Target which is the next closest pharmacy to us.

I've only worked at a CVS pharmacy as a technician for 3 months and I've already gotten to the point where I've quit the job here to go back to my old one. Despite less pay, it was well worth with it and I still get paid roughly the same amount cause I get more hours. The issue with CVS is that a majority of the stores are severely understaffed and I believe this is where a lot of issues stem from. You have pharmacists who have to work 12+ hour days with no break and for a whole week. On top of that, some employees are expected to do the same the same though they get 30-min. breaks. However that's already a violation of MN state law because if you work over 8 hours, you are required to be given an hour break. They told me I get my 30 and random 15-min. breaks throughout the day though the store is so damn busy, I don't have any time to do that and that just adds to my stress.
Getting back to the staffing, if the stores at 2 pharmacists on staff and at least a few technicians, things would be fine I believe. I don't think a lot of people understand the process we have to go through to get their prescriptions. The technicians can take the prescriptions, enter them in and fill them, however the pharmacist has to check them. So while there may be enough technicians to get prescriptions filled, there aren't enough pharmacists to verify them and put them in waiting bins ready to be picked up. On top of that, we always need to answer phone calls from patients that have questions on prescriptions, if they want to get them filled, etc. We need to be helping people at drop off, drive-thru, and pick up.
So if all locations are busy, this means no one is able to keep filling prescriptions and that's where the backlog and longer waits happen. On top of that, we have to go through the godawful process of dealing with doctors and insurance. We have sent new refill requests to doctors, though might not hear back from them for days at a time. Insurance is just a long damn process of actually being able to talk to an actual person.
Also what else bothers me is the automated calls. Those just are the worst. I can't tell you how many times I've had patients come up to me saying they got a call that a prescription was ready. I'll look them up and behold, they don't have any. I check the database and they have prescriptions that can be filled and I tell them that and they get all angry at me when in fact they don't listen or understand the whole message. The calls are meant to say that they have prescriptions ready to be filled not that they are filled. This is a problem on both ends. If CVS can get rid of that or at least make the calls more understanding, it'd get rid of a lot of confusion though if patients can call ahead of time and actually ask about prescriptions beforehand, it'd be of great help.
To patients who've had a bad experience at CVS, I'm sorry. Please understand that not all CVS and employees are like that. In addition, I can understand that some patients are in need of prescriptions but you have to be understanding of what we the technicians and pharmacists need to go through so you can get them. In all honest, all these issues seem to stem from corporate. If they could possibly spend some more money on improving stores, I think things could improve drastically.

Dropped it off at 4:30 pm and was told a couple of hours. At 9:23 pm still not ready or filled. We called and was advised that they have been backed up since 2:00 pm. This is not an option. Why was I told two hours if they had no way of promising this. I went back at 6:45 and was told they were still working on it and would text me when it was ready. Not realizing it was going to be after my bedtime of maybe 10 or 11 pm. Some folks need to work and script is supposed to be given in a certain amount of time, totally not happy with CVS. I am shocked and appalled by the rude, unprofessional behavior of the CVS Pharmacy staff. Specially, the store located on the corner of Scottsdale and Shea. For months, I've had several prescriptions filled at CVS on a routine basis. My doctor prescribed a specific brand name prescription that I needed filled, but the pharmacy didn't carry it and told me I had to wait a few days. That experience was bad enough, so I called a week in advance when I needed to refill the same prescription to avoid running out. Unfortunately, once again I was told they didn't have it stock and was told that I would have to call around to the other pharmacies to find out who could fill the prescription. I incredulously asked why I should have to call around, is it not your responsibility to refill my prescription? I was rudely told that she had other customers to wait on and then she quickly put me on hold before I could respond. I have thus cancelled all my prescriptions with CVS and will take my business to Walgreens. I won't step foot into another CVS. And I really think they could care less about losing the business.

Immediately ** came back saying that I was right. He did see that I left the bag but I needed to wait for 20 minutes until he watched the tape. I told him: "You don't make a customer who has spent over $100 in your store, wait for $20. It's not worth it". He raised his voice and said that he couldn't do anything about it. I needed to understand it was the store's policy. When I asked for his last name he told me to leave.
The smart thing to do in this case is to give the customer the purchase. It was only worth $20!! It would be an issue if I were violating laws but I get my RX filled on the 21st of every month like clockwork, never ask for a day early, ever. I took my Moms script to CVS to get filled after leaving the emergency room. She is 77 years old with chronic osteoporosis and blood clots going up both legs. The hospital gave her 30 tablets of pain pills at the 325mg. The pharmacist Jessica in Lebanon Ohio refused to fill it and tried to keep the script when I demanded the script back. She wrote all over it that it was not filled then stamped it with Big Letters read FILLED then called my Moms Doctor and said she did not need the script. Isn't that illegal what she did?

CVS/pharmacy located at 137 S State St. Chicago, IL needs to retrain the pharmacist name "**" in customer service etiquette. When I went to pickup my prescription, ** slammed the bag with my medication on the counter. Was curt, and dropped my change in my hand, as if she did not want to be there on this day December 3, 2014 at 11:30 am. I feel I should have been handed both my change and my prescription. I've been a faithful CVS/pharmacy customer for well over twelve years and should be treated as a valued customer whenever I shop or drop-off/pickup prescriptions.

This company cannot seem to get enough medication to fill customer scripts and it is not just limited to new medications/rules passed in the past few months. There is something seriously wrong with their supply chain. They must have had a customer care seminar as they now call me by my name (and loudly) so that I feel as if I'm the problem. They've just tied up another great physical location in our communities. Who owns CVS? Who is CVS? They should be investigated - they're dispensing drugs, not candy.

I took the RX in to have it filled yesterday evening, just as I always have, and since the pharmacist does not currently have enough stock to fill my order today, he would not hold my RX and put it on file stating that it is against a new Michigan State Law. I asked him what law? He could not give me a straight answer on that. I have not had any trouble at this pharmacy in the past with them taking this same RX and holding it until they got their stock in next week to fill it. So, I am shocked that this change has come up all of a sudden and I do not trust the pharmacist. So, I am going to go to a different pharmacy to get my RX filled instead.

I am disabled. My doctor prescribed a medication and directed it to be filled early the day before Thanksgiving, so I wouldn't have to leave my house on Thanksgiving... The pharmacist refused to fill it till the next day and lied about the reason. Said it was a state law. Turns out it was a CVS policy, to be used at the discretion of the pharmacist. She was just mad that she had to be working on Thanksgiving and passed her annoyance off to the customer. Her exact words... "I'll have to be here tomorrow (Thanksgiving) so you can just come in tomorrow to pick it up." I've taken that Rx for over 20 years, and the doctor approved the early fill date right on the Rx. CVS has lost my business... several thousand dollars in Rx medications each month.

I drop off a script that is a schedule to controlled substance that my dr wrote me with the current day's date and the "earliest fill date" line left blank (I am assuming it was left blank because there was no earliest fill date..TODAY was the earliest fill date). My insurance has always filled my scripts 2 days early and so has CVS...in the past. It is Thanksgiving break; I am leaving town. I am making sure I have all my meds before my family and I get on a plane to Colorado for a 5 day stay in a cabin in the mountains. As the pharmacy employee runs my script, she tells me I can't get it filled for 4 more days. Thinking this is an insurance problem; I call the insurance company to ask them about a vacation override. They give me the phone number that I am to give the pharmacy. The pharmacist can then call the insurance company and proceed to carry out whatever is necessary to get me the override for my meds. I am not going to drive down the mountain and then drive another hour to get meds that I can get here...now.
So when I give the information to the pharmacist, he says that he has to call my doctor to get approval to fill the script today. The script has today's date!!!! He won't try to get me the override. He doesn't even run it through my insurance to see if it will go through. He treats me as if I am a addict trying to get pills filled early because I took too many!!! I am just doing what I always do when I get my scripts. Take it to the pharmacy, fill it, pay for it, and leave! It is 4:30pm and the doctor's office has closed, so there is no way to reach my dr to get this "approval" (again, I thought her signature, with today's date and no earliest fill date was enough). I leave CVS pissed off and take it to Brookshire's of all places and guess what?! It was ready in 10min. NO PROBLEMS--I didn't need any overrides, insurance covered it fine and I was treated with respect. I wasted hours of my day for nothing!!! Except that I won't be going back to CVS.

When the new law regarding ** products came out in October I had an existing prescription with CVS that had two more refills however even though the law allowed for them to give me those refills they refused to do so. They were quite rude to me when I asked about it and treat me like I'm some kind of drug abuser even though I take two pills a day for chronic pain and have for the last year due to a surgery this year and another one I need done next year. Because of their policy I've now had to go to my doctor each month to get prescriptions that I already had refills written for and now both times when I've presented them with the prescriptions they haven't had the pills in stock even though I got them for the last year every month....now they don't have them in stock and when I asked when they will have them in stock I am just rudely told "I don't know".
I will not be doing any more business with CVS Pharmacy!!! I get multiple prescriptions filled but they won't be through CVS! I am done with being treated so rudely and without any respect at all! Evidently CVS doesn't care how much business they lose! Any other pharmacy that I spoke to trying to fill my prescriptions since there seems to be some kind of shortage now was at least kind enough to say I'm sorry or be respectful about it. The CVS pharmacists I've dealt with at the location on victory Boulevard are horrendous at customer service!!!! Bye CVS!

I am writing this email in hope that Upper management for CVS Pharmacy store #9374 Tucson Az, will address this issue. The Pharmacist name is **, who was on duty the night 11/23/2014, I went to pick up my prescription my Dr had previously called in. I had been prescribed ** 8 mg, which is a medicine used for ** addiction. I had previously been on **, but changed medications due to the high price since I have always HAD to pay cash for this medication for the last 2 1/2 years I've been sober. I have insurance thru AHCCCES, however they will not cover it because due to my long term addiction to **. They only cover patients newly addicted up to 3 months. So in my recovery I have been forced to pay out of pocket for my dr office visits as well as my meds to stay clean. I've been through the lengthy process of having my Dr submit a pre-authorization with no success. Also these types of meds are rarely even covered by regular insurance.
I went to pick up my prescription and was told that this CVS will not fill my prescription, if my Insurance will not cover it, although I have been going to this same pharmacy for the last 2 1/2 years, for the same medication, and just picked up my script 2 days ago. He insisted that I was wrong, and stated "whoever has been filling them for you is wrong", and that "I needed to follow AHCCCES Policy to get my meds covered." I asked about the policy, and when it came in to effect, and he wouldn't answer, only to say, "the DEA is cracking down on people WANTING to pay cash instead of go through insurance." He then went on to say, "no one is ever going to fill that for you in any pharmacy in town," and treated me as though as I was trying to pill seek as if I was still addicted. The more I explained that I was confused it could change overnight, however every other CVS,Walgreens, etc. has filled the same med with no problem until now. He became more agitated, became aggressive, saying, "I don't have to help you, I don't have to call any pharmacy for you."
I then begged him to please try calling Walmart, next door or even Walgreens, he called them but then insinuated to them that I was bypassing my insurance denial and insisting to pay cash, while customers were in ear shot. I was humiliated and hurt by his discriminating behavior, and have never been so disrespected by a Pharmacist, I left there in tears. Mr. ** made this situation to me, feel very personal and discriminatory towards previous addicts. By him going into talking about how "I'm not following the insurance rules", and kept mentioning to me "the DEA is cracking down" was totally unnecessary in regards to my situation which is very different. However I can't understand how this CVS has different policies than all the other CVS pharmacies. I begged him to please transfer it to the nearest CVS 24 hour pharmacy, which is on Grant rd. Because he was upset I was questioning him, he said the only nearest 24 hour pharmacy is on Ina and Thornydale, (45 minutes from me) and this CVS is 5 min from me.
I couldn't help but feel targeted by his actions when I left the store. He was obviously new to this pharmacy, and needs additional training on store locations and policies, however it doesn't excuse a male speaking aggressively, pointing his finger, and leaning over the counter chastising me close to my face. Right or wrong, there is a way to handle customers, and this was the WORST I have ever been treated by anyone. I am devastated by this experience. I am addict in recovery and have been fighting to say sober for 2 1/2 years, but it doesn't give your Pharmacist or any other the right to treat me like an active drug user. I feel for the next patient who doesn't agree with him.

Last Year Came to pick up my Rx order and was told that there was no order for me. I told them when I left the script but they checked the computer and looked around and said they did not have it. I was told that I must have taken it somewhere else or to another location. I insisted that they try to locate it and they finally found the script on the floor. No apology, they just acted like it was my fault.
10/24/14 Just brought my husband home from the hospital after surgery and dropped off scripts at 5:30 pm. One for pain medication. I was told that it would be about 1 hours as they were running behind. I went back two times before the order was ready, around 10:00 pm. Considering that my husband was in intense pain, this was very poor service. If the order could not be filled in a timely manner I should have been told so that I could go elsewhere. 11/14/14 I went to the drive-up window to leave four scripts, three for my husband and one for myself. The clerk was very busy but I waited so that I could actually talk to her to make sure that we would not have a repeat delay as last time. She assured me that everything would be ready in a little over an hour. She asked if I had any questions. I told her thank you, and drove off.
I came back in two hours and three orders for my husband were ready, but not the one for me. The clerk (who was very nice) informed me that they did not have a script for me and that they had filled everything. I told her there was a script left for me. She went to talk with the pharmacist and returned with the script and asked if that was it. I told her it was and both she and the pharmacist stated that they did not have any information on me as the front of the script only had my name, therefore it could not be filled. The pharmacist stated that I simply dropped off the scripts and drove off before the clerk could talk to me to get my information. She obviously did not believe me when I told her that was not the way it happened. I turned over the script to show them all of my information on the back. They had written at the top of the script to fill after 9:00 pm and I wondered why they did that when I was told it would be ready around 5:00 pm.
The pharmacist was quite rude at that time. I have been coming to this pharmacy for many years and have been told at least twice in the past to always put my information on the back of the script if it was not listed on the front. Totally exasperated with them, I took the script and left, intending to go to another pharmacy. Thinking about it the next day I decided that since all my prescriptions were at this particular location and all of my physicians already had the information for this location, I should just stay there, so I took the script back to have it filled and asked to see the pharmacy manager. Lo and behold, it was **, the same person that was so rude to me the evening before. I told her about the past problems and said that if this location could not do better, I should go to another pharmacy. She said perhaps I should and offered to give me her manager's name and phone number. I told her I did not need it from her, that I would get it myself.
When she was entering the information into the computer, she asked for me to tell her everything and I said that it was on the back of script. ** stated that the information should not have been put on the back and that there would never be anyone from the pharmacy tell me to do that. She then went into this very sarcastic explanation that in the medical field everything had to be verified. I raised my voice some and said that she should just read it (all printed) since it was right in front of her. She then said, "Stop cussing at me." I was not cussing and told her so. She then smirked and said, "It's an analogy." Finally after going through all of this ** stated that the script could not be filled until after 9:00 pm because she is pregnant and could not handle that medication. It would have to be filled when the next person came on and would be ready the next day. Evidently that is why it was not filled the first time. I do not have a problem with that and totally understand, however I could have been told that to begin with instead of putting me through such an ordeal.
When I picked up my order the next day, she had attached a large note with the supervisor's name and phone number. She is simply demonstrating her condescending and arrogant personality. And I do not appreciate her stating that I was wrong in what I was telling her when she is the one that was untruthful and gave conflicting information. I will be going to another pharmacy from now on. By the way, the lady behind me stated that she also has had problems with this pharmacy and would be going elsewhere in the future.

I went to CVS to pick up a prescription and drop off a script for my children. Arrived at drive up window and waited 15 minutes when it was my turn I gave the attendant Robert my ID card for my insurance and the 2 scripts for my children, along with my drivers license. He said, "I can't help you ma'am this is not your drug card" and said, "I can not refill this either you have to go inside." Didn't even try to help me with my insurance. So I went inside and asked for the manager. He said what's the problem, I repeated my story and said "you probably lose a lot of business this way." He said "what medicine are you picking up?" while we were standing at the front cash register. I said I prefer not to say it right here. He's like "well I can find out I will just go ask them." So I borrow the phone, get the insurance info and get in line in the back, to wait another 10 minutes. I am just about to get to the front when the manager calls me out of the line, and says, "You had to come inside because it's a controlled substance." If so how come this is the first time in 2 yrs that I ever had to come in, anyway, what does this have to do with my prescription that your dumb dumb clerk couldn't help me with.
I am not even mentioning my son's medicine I want to know why can't they help me with mine, remember or am I the only normal one in this pharmacy. He says, "go hand them your info and they will take care of you." So now I have to wait in line again, just because this other dumb dumb made me get out of line for nothing. At this point I am in tears, so I give my insurance info. They tell me mine is free, they have the bag of medicine and they move it to somewhere. Then I ask what about my kids' medicine, they tell me they have to check if it's been refilled to many times, I am like they have no more medicine so that can't be. Then they apologize, "no you're right, now just step over there so we can see if we have it." Ten minutes later, "yep we have it, come back in three hours." I walk all the way to my car when I realize they never gave me my medicine. AHHHHH!!!!! I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO CVS, consider me a solid WALGREENS CUSTOMER

The pharmacy here leaves a lot to be desired. I've received very bad customer service here twice now over the phone, which happens to be the number of times I've called them. Zero for Zero on the friendly and helpful scoreboard.
The first time I called I went through the phone loop to get to the pharmacy. Every time they would pick up they'd hang up on me after I said "hello". I kept calling back thinking there was a bad phone connection but it was pretty obvious that the woman answering the phone didn't want to do her job and would hang up on me each time we'd exchange "hellos". When I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor, my call actually went through that time - no hang up. Unfortunately, the supervisor claimed that they were having phone issues and never offered an apology. Funny how that call was able to get through - she didn't understand why I was so frustrated and told me to call back when I wasn't so flustered. I asked to leave a formal complaint about the whole issue and she refused to give me a name or take my complaint over the phone.
Today I called because I noticed they input the wrong Dr. on my prescription. It wasn't even a Dr. I've ever seen before. I noticed because I refilled my prescription online at cvs.com and the system told me that the prescription had no refills so they would contact the Dr. for authorization. It was the wrong Dr so I'm doubting they'll ever get a response if the Dr’s office has no record of me being a patient there. When I called CVS in Wethersfield to give them the heads up and ask that they change it, Katie was very rude about the situation. No apology yet again.
I don't want my prescription information along with God knows what being sent out to some random Dr. Not only is that sending MY medical information to someone who is not authorized to receive it, but now it creates extra work for everyone else to determine that I'm not a patient at that practice. I'm appalled at the lack of customer care at this pharmacy, truly disgusted. Where is the quality control?

I've filed four complaints against the pharmacy in general. The last complaint which was made because the main pharmacist in charge was on vacation so, of course there was another temp pharmacist. I came in 1 day before my refill was due and as the pharmacy technician like always has to ask the pharmacist temp at this moment and it's a C2 controlled substance. I know that They have the medicine in stock but after the temp pharmacist looked at my prescription, without even looking by checking the safe where the regular full pharmacist has to go to fill it. He bluntly lied to my face and informed me that he didn't have that prescription in stock and like the majority of pharmacist assumed I'm some drug seeking addict. But, anyways I first informed him that "sir, you do in fact have it in stock as the main pharmacist keeps it in stock as I get it filled every month." I then continued to direct him to please actually open the safe under you and actually look. Guess what? He has it!!! Go figured right.
Then, as I'm still standing there with people other customers behind me, he looks at my prescription and looks at the bottle of medicine that he said he didn't have then looked at me and loudly asked from the middle of the pharmacy area "WHAT ARE YOU GETTING TREATED FOR??" He DID NOT ASK ME TO come to the CONSULTANT DESK and I was already embarrassed by the way he was treating me. Then I had to loudly answer back where everyone else in line and also picking up their Rx in another line could hear and know all of my medical problems and personal health and private information. After I told him what I was getting treated for he finally filled the Rx...of course I had to wait over 30 minutes as I'm sure he wanted to verify the Rx which is TOTALLY fine with me and should have either done that in the first place and or ask to see me at the consultation desk and ask me what I'm getting treated for. I'll never forget this and never forgive CVS for this...Tim the temp pharmacist was in the wrong, violated my Hipaa rights, and treated me unjustly.
After I left I was mortified, embarrassed, depressed that I had to go through this. I looked up if there was anything I could do and I got advice from pharmacist, Steve stating to file a complaint regarding CVS violating my hipaa rights and also I filed a complaint with the Louisiana board of pharmacy. Well, after CVS got a call from a compliance officer and spoke to the main pharmacist Jessica I got an email from the compliance officer stating he spoke to Jessica and asked her to call me and try to resolve the issue. About an hour later I do get a call, but Jessica just says she no longer feels comfortable filling ANY of my prescriptions.
I will continue to tell my story regarding I was treated, labeled, and punished for filing a complaint. The point of complaints is to be able to provide feedback and the store or company to better themselves and their customer service. But, now I have to drive about over an hour round trip to get my prescriptions now. Lawyers tell me that it would cost me more money to possibly just slap them with a fine. The compliance officer and to the companies that I have submitted a legit complaint did nothing to help the consumer. I hope that And know I'm not the only one out there and I pray and hope that something can get done to this pharmacist and temp pharmacist along with CVS. Please support your local pharmacy and not these big chains as they don't give a two craps about your health or you as a human being.

This complaint is regarding CVS Store# 3835 at 72 Berlin Rd, Cromwell CT. My medical coverage from work was negotiated under a union contract, & the only pharmacy I can go to is CVS. Before my plan changed last year, I was using the Stop & Shop pharmacy & I was very happy with them. I've been filling my scripts at this CVS for a year now. One script is for an anti-depressant. The other script is for a controlled substance, **, for ADHD. I have been utilizing the same psychiatrist for about 10 years now.
I'm originally from NY & I used to see him at his office in Westchester when I lived & worked there. I moved to Connecticut because of work several years ago, & he moved to Florida. Since his services are strictly for medication management only, & I didn't want to start from scratch with a new doctor, he has continued on as my doctor. We have regularly scheduled appointments every 3 months via phone. I have never had a problem filling scripts written by a Florida doctor for ** here in Connecticut until now.
Last month, I had a particularly bad experience with this CVS branch. For the first time since I've been going there, I stopped by to drop off a script for ** only to be told they ran out & the clerk handed me back the script looking at me like she just expected me to go away. I asked when they were getting it in & all she said was "I don't know". I asked which other CVS branch has the drug in stock as I was dangerously low & she said "I don't know". I had to insist that they order it. I called back to verify they received it & stopped by on my way home from work to drop off the script. I told the clerk I would pick it up the next day after work. I don't remember what time I specified, but I know I got there later than that, & my script still wasn't filled. I was forced to wait.
This pharmacy doesn't fill scripts in the order they receive them. And if they do, I fail to grasp how they can't manage to fill a script that they've been given 24 hours to fill. What deeply concerns me about that is if enough customers who don't work during the day come to fill scripts for the same exact medication, & if they have the time to wait for it, by the time MY script gets filled, they could run out. ** has a history of being in shortage so I consider this a serious issue. Especially since I'm the one that asked them to order it.
Between that & the lousy customer service, I was agitated enough to go online & file a complaint. I admit I was pretty nasty about it, but I feel I had every right to be. Any other pharmacy would have told me they were out, tell me they'll order it & let me know when they expect to have it. But not CVS. They don't know, don't care, & are extremely unprofessional & provide terrible customer service. If I treated a customer like that I'd be fired.
I dropped off another script for ** last night & said I'd be there at 4pm today to pick up the script.. I got there at 4:19 & my script wasn't filled yet. I had to wait 40 minutes & once it was filled, I was told they would no longer accept scripts from my doctor in Florida from this point forward. I'm in a terrible panic now because I'm about to run out of my anti-depressant, I have no refills left, & I should have my new script before the weekend is over & won't be able to fill it. I can't afford to go to a different pharmacy to pay out of pocket, & I'll run out of medication long before I can find a new psychiatrist, get an appointment & get all my records transferred, so that I can get a prescription from a Connecticut doctor.
This CVS branch has been filling these scripts for a year now & they never had a problem until I filed a complaint with nasty comments & criticisms online last month. And before my medical plan from work changed, the Stop & Shop pharmacy never had a problem with filling these scripts. I understand that ** is a controlled substance, but CVS could've easily verified the validity/legitimacy of the script by calling my doctor & speaking with him. I have not found any information online saying that it’s against the law to fill scripts for controlled substances written by out of state doctors. If it was against the law, my doctor wouldn't do it. And if isn't legal, & he did it anyway, I had no idea & that means CVS has been breaking the law without a problem up until I filed a complaint against them. This is retaliation for my complaint & comments.
I demanded to see a manager & told her to call my doctor. She said she would call him tomorrow & speak to her supervisor, but I'm not feeling very hopeful about this. If my doctor has to provide them with some paperwork to substantiate the legitimacy of my scripts, all they have to do is call him & ask for it. They never tried to contact him before refusing me. I am an adult living with ADHD & depression. I didn't get properly diagnosed for these conditions until I was in my 30's (I'm 52 now). Up until I got properly medicated, I couldn't hold down a job & had no skills. My medication changed my life. I am now a technician for AT&T with 15 years of service which CVS is putting in jeopardy. It can take 30 days or more to get an appointment with a new psychiatrist & I'll have to get my records transferred...
It’s a time consuming process & CVS must know this. I'm screwed. I'll have to go without my antidepressant until I can get squared away with a new doctor what I don't know or feel comfortable with. You need to build up a serum level with anti depressants for them to work. If I have to go without them for more than a day or two, my condition will seriously decline & I will be unable to do my job or take care of myself.
I am appalled at the way CVS operates. They are rude & unprofessional, disorganized & they clearly do not have their priorities straight. They're claiming they can't fill the script due to DEA regulations. So why did they fill it for a year with no issue? I called CVS Caremark to complain when I got home & told them I believe this is retaliation for my complaint. While they said they take retaliation seriously & will investigate, they're not going to do anything to assist me in this matter. This is unacceptable & inexcusable.

On 10/14/14, I picked up my pills (** 15mg), got home, and and wife counted them to put in my pill dispenser. When she looked at me and said, "these are short!" We counted them 2 twice; 104, should of been 120. So wife says, "call them and let them know." I didn't, like a moron. Then today, 11/12/2014, I went and picked up my pill for this month. Lord behold, they're short again!! Should be 120, there's only 114. Called them, "oh no, we count them 2 or three times, we didn't short you, next time you can count them before you leave the store." I got an email on 10/28/14 saying it was shipped and received a tracking number with it. I figured it would take a couple of days to get to me. I checked on 11/10/14 and it says it was delivered but I never received it. I called UPS and they told me to contact CVS. I called CVS and they wanted me to call UPS again. I refused and my husband got on the phone. He got the lady to contact UPS and open an investigation. Today I got an email from CVS claiming UPS finished their investigation and that the package was acknowledged by me and to call them at 1-888-607-4287 if this was incorrect and they would open another investigation. I called them back and so far have been on hold for 25 minutes. They are trying every possible way to avoid replacing my order because they know they screwed up but can't admit it. I personally would suggest NEVER ordering from CVS or using their pharmacy for anything.

I arrived to CVS for my monthly "attempt" to fill my daughter's ADHD medication. Pharmacist ** took several minutes to approach the counter (there was not a single other person in the store). He then took 20 minutes to take my prescription, walk around the store, flirt with the staff, greet a friend and eventually process my prescription. I asked to wait for the rx to be filled and he told me it would be more than an hour and I couldn't wait (again there is no one else in the store). Thirty minutes into the experience he tells me he isn't going to fill the rx because DC Medicaid won't fill an rx more than 5 days after it is written. The rx clearly says fill on "today's date" though it was written more than 5 days earlier. He then leaves the counter and refuse to come back to acknowledge me even though I ask for the rx back and ask for his name.
Forty five minutes into the process I go to the front to find a store manager who takes another 20 minutes to get his name. Over an hour later I leave with no rx and no meds. This is my monthly routine, every month for 7 years. So far, Pharmacist ** was the most obstructionist pharmacist I have met to date- Congratulations ** you are at the top of the list of long list of worthless pharmacists at CVS!!!!!!!

I said, "Why?" She said, "Because it's my right to refuse any prescription I want to! And besides you should have 25 days of pills left." I said, "I don't know what type of math your doing but your crazy. I just went to the Dr today and just tell me your name because I'm not going through with you." She said, "Well I can keep it and fill it later." I said, "Just tell me your name and give me my script." She said her name was COURTNEY and gave it back and I went to WALGREENS and got it filled with no problem. I have excellent insurance and they wouldn't have paid if it was too early. DON'T GO TO CVS! Please be careful when buying the infant formula at CVS and as per policy CVS should not sell the products before 60 days of expiry. I bought an Enfamil infant ready to use milk for my 2 weeks old kid and he was throwing up every thing after using that. Later when I took the milk to another CVS store and I was shocked with his answer, that "who sold this to you" and "you should not use this as its expiry date is expiring" i.e within a month. He also told me that by default, all the infant baby formula should not sell before 60 days of expiry. So please be careful next time before buying at CVS.

Formal Complaint against CVS located at 6202 N Us Highway 41, Apollo Beach, FL 33572. This pharmacy has been giving me hard time for few months now. Every time I go to fill a prescription, there is an issue and disrespect. Today 11/1/2014, I called to check if it is time to drop off my husband's prescription. The pharmacist checked the last time it was picked off and then told me that I can pick it up. So I went on my way.
When I got there, the pharmacist told me that they can't fill it out as they are out of stock and they cannot keep the prescription. I told the pharmacist that I was told otherwise when I called and the pharmacist said no. I asked when they expect the medicine to be available and they said that they don't know so I just asked to have the prescription back. The pharmacist said he gave it back to me but he didn't. He said he's put it in the basket but the basket was empty and I did not move.
He started looking inside my car as if I hide the prescription. I stepped out of the car, looked in the street, checked inside my car again but I found nothing. He left the window for 15 mins. I pressed the call button again, and I was waiting for a response for another 5 mins. He came back telling me, "I am sure I gave it back to you, it was in the basket." I said "There was nothing in the basket." He left me again waiting for another 5 mins. He came back and started looking again around and into the sliding drawer/slot until he found it in the groove of it. So I was so pissed off not because I lost the prescription but because of his attitude. Instead of apologizing, he dropped it in the basket and just left the window. Not even an apology.
Another day with another incident on 10/01/2014. I stepped in with a prescription for ear infection (ear drops). Pharm said it will be ready in 45 mins. I said I will be back in an hour. I went back after 3 hours, the ear drops was not ready yet. So the pharm. said it will be ready in 15 mins. I said "What?! I was supposed to pick it up in 45 mins, it has been 3 hours now." I waited for 20 mins and the ear drops was not ready yet. So I asked to speak with the manager. The manager was standing behind the counter, seeing and hearing me but he did not even look at me. Finally, he approached me and said, "I can't do anything except apologize."
On several occasions, I receive a text message stating my prescription is ready to be picked up. I go to the pharmacy and it was not ready. Another incident when I was picking my husband's medication. The pharm said "We can't fill out the prescription because we cannot locate your husband's account." I said "Here we go with another issue. He has been dealing with you for years now." I go back another day and they told me that there is a duplicate account for him so it needs to be fixed.
And so on and so forth. Every time I go, there is an issue; from miscommunication, to attitude and poor customer service. Accordingly, I am working hard on moving my family's prescription to another pharmacy as soon as I can. I am so disappointed. After being a customer for 8 years, I feel like I am done and cannot take their disrespectful and discourtesy behavior anymore.

I am disgusted with this pharmacy. They claim they are "just the middleman" as a bailout when customers have issues with their prescription. However.... they have more authority than they lead the customer to believe. They need to get their stories straight. Either they are just the middle man so don't blame us... or are they the actual ones who can make the decision when it is needed. They can't have it both ways although they think we are too stupid to notice that they try to.
There is a medication I am on that I need every day and I was without it one day because I couldn't get a ride and it was torture not having it so I make it a point to get it early each month so to avoid an issue like that again. It's not a heavy duty drug. Not a painkiller or anything like that but it is controlled. Anyway I have extras each month so to avoid being out. Anyway... I get it 2, 3, or 4 days days early... whenever it falls into place with my transportation and my insurance will put it through BUT the pharmacist refused to fill it.. What happened to that poor me, lowly middleman?? He said people abuse it, but that he wasn't referring to me. Well if he wasn't referring to me... then why wouldn't he fill it?? He said he would fill it the next day. I had enough so I did not mind that.
I minded him playing God with my prescription and lying to my face about not accusing me which he obviously was. And he was so rude about it. I told him my insurance would put it through and he raised his voice for others to hear that "he wouldn't put it through" like he was trying to make an example out of me. I am just so put off. Makes you feel icky in a way that I cannot describe. Makes me feel like just paying for a taxi on the actual day it runs out just to prove a point that I CAN wait, because this particular med you have to have daily. But I should not have to do that or feel as though I should do that AND it will disrupt my flow plan. I feel uneasy and disgusted.

I then reported it to the supervisor in charge at the time as there was no manager on duty. Since my fall, there has been no correction in the dangerous situation near the entrance of the store. I assume it is due to CVS having no concern or consideration of their customers. I am 62 years old and fell very hard and a witness assisted me in getting up. He also told the supervisor how hard I fell. I feel very fortunate to have not been hurt more although I still suffer pain in my knee over two months after the fall.
What if I had broken my hip or an older person fell and broken HER hip, that is almost a deadly situation. Due to the lack of attention to this matter, I will NEVER spend a dime at ANY CVS store as they obviously do not care about their customers well being. Anyone that might fall at the Alvin, Texas store, please feel free to contact me as they have been notified of the situation and can easily be held responsible. Additionally, I pay cash for my doctor visits and get no government assistance, yet I will be required to take a random $40 monthly drug test (out of my pocket); to even get a prescription written. Furthermore, you can only get a 1/2 month's supply and they want me on a program to wean me off the medication. I cannot pay for two doctor visits a month, plus afford a drug test.

My daughter has had viral meningitis for 5 times within the last 4 years. The doctors have not been able to nail down the cause, except that the last episode was due to Enterovirus. She has been prescribed ** to take it regularly at home, which helps her from going to the ER from severe pain in her head, down the neck and all over her back. It gets to the point where she cannot bear it anymore. Only that the ** brings down the pain. Frequently, she also has this unknown issue that when she eats something (food or medicine), in less than 15 minutes she will vomit and throw up the intake. Hence, sometime she has to re-take fresh dilaudid to manage the pain. The medical facility (UCSD Thornton Hospital, Pomerado Hospital and Palomar Hospital) staffs are well aware of her medical condition and put NO restriction on prescribing (written note) the medicine once every 14 days.
On October 16, 2014 I took the prescription to CVS on Main Street at Ramona, Ca. and I was told no problem in refilling and that they were running behind by 2 hours. I was at a tire shop from across the CVS Pharmacy and I got a call from my daughter, who was sobbing on the phone, and she told me that the pharmacist, John (last name withheld), from CVS called our home phone number and told my daughter that he was NOT going to re-fill the prescription, defying the board certified doctor’s handwritten (per DEA) order. John’s reason was that he looked at the history and that every 15 days she was getting the medicine, **. This time she was a few to several days early with the handwritten prescription.
I quickly went over to the pharmacy and met John, who truly looked unprofessional and a quick description would be that of a slob! He was totally rude to me and did not have the understanding of a patient’s situation. I explained to him (John) the medical condition of my daughter and that the medical personnel who are trying to treat her are totally aware of everything. If the board certified and experienced doctor give out a handwritten prescription then the pharmacist should not argue and deny the refill. John basically blew me off with his rudeness, absolutely and totally acted like a demi-God, regardless of the well-being of my daughter. I thought that to a medical profession, including any pharmacist, the health and well being of a person is their utmost compassion.
I am letting all the readers to know that CVS at Ramona is not customer friendly and especially, patient friendly. A pharmacist like John (last name withheld) should not work for CVS. If CVS cares for its image to the society then they should do a house clearing. I took the prescription to another pharmacy across the road, at Rite Aid, and no trouble in getting that handwritten prescription filled. Yes, Rite Aid is aware that per medical insurance coverage and per instruction of board certified medical profession, my daughter has been getting this medicine once every 15 days.

My prescriptions were filled almost 8 days early once, at other times, the rule set by my health insurance, that medication must be used up by at least 85%. Very recently there must have been a change in their rules or perhaps even government regulations have changed...I was not allowed to fill my prescription until a day AFTER it had been filled last month, so I could have had a seizure, when the doctor says to take your medicine at the same time everyday otherwise you're going to have a seizure, you TAKE YOUR STUPID PILLS. Unless CVS arbitrarily decides that you may not have them. I have changed to Rite Aid, I was still shorted 15 out of 45 but I went back in right after counting them in my car. The pharmacist apologized and refilled it completely, even though I'm fairly sure she wasn't as stupid as she was pretending to be. I will be SHOPPING for a better pharmacy. I'm the customer. Enjoy your new schedules, you won't have enough revenue to support a full schedule. Even if it IS the government, you guys could still be nicer about it. I have been shopping at CVS for around 8 or 9 years. I'm what you'd call a "loyal customer." I like the fact there's one on just about every corner around here, some are open late or 24/7, and am a coupon queen so I enjoy the ExtraBucks and promotions they have. But, I am now drawing the line. It started a couple years ago with the photo section of their website. I tried uploading and designing/ordering greeting cards. The normal CVS.com website is pretty good and reliable. The photo site was reminiscent of a 1998 site. Broken content, uploader worked half the time, sometimes it would just log me out while I was in the middle of tinkering with the order. I had myriad problems but because I had devoted so much time to it, I continued thinking, well, it's better than starting over elsewhere. The pictures I uploaded to be greeting cards were 300dpi and the exact size (4x6). I was a graphic designer for 10 years so I understand the ins/outs of that. The finished product looked like someone dropped a smoke screen over it, barely legible and very dark. Completely not what I had uploaded.
But because of the many, many hours (no exaggeration) I spent when I had the time here and there, the holidays were fast approaching and I had to get them out so I just bit the bullet and mailed them as-is and didn't complain to the store. Fast forward to the next year, 2013, and I stupidly thought "surely they've gotten their site brought up-to-date" but was sadly wrong. Same problems, except the uploader was better. I had just as many problems and finally said "enough is enough" and sent my order to Walgreen's. Now, Walgreen's had just as many issues when it came to actually picking the photo order up, but, the website and the order process was great compared to CVS.
Now, let's talk about the Minute Clinic. Great idea, but not well executed. I was pregnant in 2013 and went on search of a flu shot at the advisement of my doc. There is a window of time when it's best to get one and I had limited time due to work and other commitments. I called the MC to verify hours of operation and went on my lunch break. I went and there was a sign taped to the computer "back in one hour". Great. So I left and went back to work and figured I'd just go after work. 4.5 hours later I went back and the same sign is still taped to the screen. Lovely. The following week, I called ahead, verified they were open RIGHT THEN, and went back. I signed in on the computer. It said there was someone ahead of me (already in the room) and my wait was 15 minutes. 2 families came up after me and signed in. The person in the room left, and a few minutes later, the doc or nurse or whatever calls one of the families in. I noticed but bit my tongue, okay, maybe they have a more urgent matter or something. I check the screen, it says my wait is now 20 minutes?
So then they leave and the OTHER family gets called in but I'm reading a vitamin bottle at this point and by the time I get it on the shelf and turn around, the door closes. The screen then says my wait time is 10 minutes? TWENTY minutes LATER (mind you the computer wait time keeps fluctuating and then finally rests I think on 12 minutes and never changed). I told the nurse/doc whatever when I went in what happened and she said she called my name multiple times over the store speaker. I was sitting right beside the door and/or standing right in front of it, the entire time. She at least apologized, but, honestly, I think she just completely went past my name or the computer screwed up. So, my flu shot, drive time and everything else involved for three trips took around +/-4 hours. "Minute" clinic? More like "hours and hours" clinic.
ExtraCare: 8 months ago my CVS "swipe" card would work but my phone number stopped working at the register. No problem for me except the few times I stood digging in my purse for my card with crap in one hand and trying to put it on the counter and in a hurry and cannot find it in the bottomless pit, as I call my handbag. I am usually on top of it and have my card ready but sometimes things just pile up. Then, the fact my fiance cannot go shopping there and use my phone # so we get the benefit of racking up bonus points from our combined purchases. So, the store manager tried to fix my phone number on it. The pharmacy tried. I went online. I called 3 or 4 times in the past 4 months alone. All tell me "it's fixed, allow 48 hours." And I go back...nope! The final answer was to issue me a new card and transfer my data over. And let me tell you, dealing with the "ExtraCare" idiots was enough to drive me mad. Most of them didn't understand what I was saying and I speak perfect and clear English, or they acted like they were just pressing buttons, "okay it's fixed lady, get off the phone."
Pharmacy: My daughter is on a prescription that is vital to her function and is one of those drugs that you slowly titrate up in and cannot stop cold turkey. Well, each and every time I do the online or over-the-phone refill, it goes through and I get a text or what not that it's ready or a phone call. Well, each time they "don't have it in stock, will be tomorrow." Either because the doc prescribes JUST enough liquid, or the pharmacy misfills the amount or perhaps we parents are mis-dosing (hard to do when using a syringe that has the numbers and lines on it), but each month we come dangerously close to running out and because insurance and CVS work against consumers with this liquid, I can't refill up until a few days before the refill due date. Well, that puts me in a bind because as crazy as my schedule is, I then have to schedule around what they will do, and I do understand that's the LAW, fine... but if I finally went on ready refill and it automatically does it for you...and then for them to call and tell me they don't have any in stock....when it was pre-ordered... what? I mean, wait, say what? They had to transfer the prescription to another store and we cut it REALLY close that month!
I had to go out of my way, which I will do anything for my child so okay BUT this is gross stocking error on CVS's part. So this past month we are about out 12 days before I'm even allowed to refill it. How does this happen? I'm sorry, I don't have the ability to measure 90mls every time I get home to make sure the pharmacy did it right. So we happened to have an appt with the cardiologist last week and I waited and told him and he did a new prescription for us last Thursday. Submitted Thursday. I call the CVS we always go to, that the cardiologist verified while I was in office, and ask if I can pick it up at 11:30. She says it was transferred to the other store, the one I had to go out of my way for the last month. Why? No one knows! Great! So I call that store, "can I come at 11:30." "YES" they said, "it will be ready." I go. Of course it's packed. I tell them I'm there and waiting. 45 minutes later they call a last name that sounds like my daughter's so I go up and stand in line only for them to look around forever and find nothing. I was LIVID. I have missed so much work because of doctor appointments and now these idiots took up another lunch break. I yelled a few choice curse words as I blazed out of there.
I can only take so much stupidity. I call back 2 hours later and they said THEY DON'T HAVE ANY IN STOCK. WTF?!?! NOW....you tell me this? The 'script' was sent over the day before and the afternoon of the next day, after I called that morning and was in the store that mid-morning, you just NOW tell me you don't have any? BS!!! I was impolite to the girl on the phone and said "LOOK, we are almost out of this medicine for my daughter's condition, a med she cannot just 'not' take or there will be serious implications, tomorrow is Saturday and we don't have enough to get through that day - YOU NEED TO FIND ME SOME IMMEDIATELY". She called back an hour later, "I called 5 stores (even non-CVS) and none have it." Jeez lady, if I had known I would've done my own leg work. So I am calling the cardiologist at 3:30pm to find out what he suggests and I wind up having to drive into uptown Charlotte, during rush hour, to the main branch of the hospital to get this med filled. What would normally be a 1 hour 15 minute round trip turned into 2.5 hours because of traffic. I barely made it to the hospital pharmacy before they closed at 6pm.
Point is - no more. The pharmacy techs always seems so completely slammed, it's no wonder they can't get their act together. I don't blame them, but, I do think inventory management of a known order that is on automatic refill should be IN STOCK at all times. I shouldn't have to wait, month after month. I do understand that I went in early twice to get it, but even on regular days they were "out of stock." All these things left such a bad taste in my mouth that after so many years of patronage, I am moving on as soon as I find a suitable pharmacy to transfer to. I'm still weighing options based on location, etc. I am just done with it. And I'm sure whichever I go to next will be riddled with problems but hopefully not as many.

In my experience with my local CVS, one of the prescriptions is a class 2 controlled substance and is not always in stock so I contacted a few CVS locations in the area to see which one would be able to fill it. The first location I contacted notified me that the prescription was out of stock. My husband using his phone was on hold with store #9347 as they were checking to see if they had the medication in stock. At the same time I was on the phone with Heather your pharmacy technician. I informed her of our emergency situation and asked her if that location could fill it. She informed me that she wouldn't be able to disclose that information over the phone because I could be a potential threat and they were located in a bad neighborhood.
I told her that the location 2 miles away was on the line with my husband checking and why it was okay for them tell me if it's in stock but she couldn't and they are practically in the same neighborhood. She gave no reasonable explanation. I mentioned that I was 2 miles away and headed in her direction, pulling a 5th wheel trailer, 4 boys and 2 dogs in Friday downtown traffic and I needed help. She insisted she could not disclose that information. I went back and forth with her for a bit even offering her all of my personal information, insurance information, my driver's license, my son's insurance information so she could verify I was indeed a legit customer.
With no help or acceptable explanation from her again, I asked to speak to the pharmacy manager. He was very polite but did explain he also could not disclose that information over the phone. I explained that I had already contacted 2 locations and they told me right over the phone that they were out. In the past I have called my local CVS and the one that is 2 miles away and they always tell me whether or not they have enough for his prescription. My usual location has in the past called other locations for me or let me know when the next shipment date will be. I explained to both Heather and the manager that I did not approve of the inconsistencies of the company's rules and regulations and demanded a better level of customer service. I insisted she tell me how someone could possibly be a potential robber if they were willing to offer their CVS account information, insurance, medical and personal information in order to find out if they have a certain prescribed medication in stock. If she would've taken her time to access my son's prescription history in his account records she would have seen that I routinely fill that medication. Again no reasonable service was given so I asked for the pharmacy manager.
He was polite and reiterated what she explained. With no help from him and the time we spent on the phone I had already arrived at that location. I told him I would be inside in a minute and hung up. I approached the counter and there was no line. The pharmacy technician Heather was helping a customer on the phone so I placed the written prescriptions, insurance card and my driver's license on the counter and stepped back to give her privacy. At that point I did not know if she was the pharmacy technician I had been speaking to on the phone. I stood there waiting with my 4 boys.
After she was finished with the call she never once looked in my direction, never acknowledged me or let me know she would be right with me. For what seemed like 10 minutes she sat at her terminal with a blank stare typing away faster than I have ever seen anyone type before. At that point I got that feeling she knew who I was. She made an effort to go out of her way to make my wait as long as possible. After she was done typing excessively, she said nothing to me, did not look at me but proceeded to look at the prescriptions. She said she had to check and then proceeded to take another phone order right in front of me. Never even asked me to wait while she helped another customer on the phone.
At that point I was very upset and I began to have a panic attack and I kneel down under the counter to control my breathing. My boys were concerned and I told them I would be okay and that I was kneeling down to help bring me down from my panic attack. Even with this going on she still typed away and away with her blank smile-lacking-stare never offering help. The young gentleman manager approached me and apologized about the situation and that his hands were tied. I thanked him but still disagreed with their service. She said it would be at least an hour.
I begged her to ask to have it expedited due to our emergency and she said other customers were ahead of me. I asked her if any of them were having an emergency like ours and she agreed no one was having an emergency and regardless it will be at least a hour wait. I returned to my vehicle with my boys and I proceeded to call customer relations to be connected with someone who could help. The woman rep was very nice and helpful. I asked her to call the manager and ask him to expedite my son's prescriptions because we were having an emergency. The phone rep waited on hold for over 20 minutes with that store and kept checking in with me telling me they still had her on hold.
I then proceeded to return inside the store and wait in the waiting area until an employee picked up the customer relations representative on hold. The manager came over and asked me if I wanted him to fill my prescriptions. I then showed him my phone so he could see how long I was on hold with the rep who was on hold with his store. I no longer needed her help and I recorded my reference number. He filled my prescriptions and interestingly enough, it took exactly one hour. Heather was extremely rude, unprofessional and displayed a lack of sympathy for sick patients/customers.
I left Walgreens years ago and always used CVS. I plan to leave CVS unless your company can provide me with the necessary service I deserve. I am asking you to compensate me for my time, my family's time, my panic attack and for upsetting my son to the point of tears. Feel free to review the security tape and you too will see Heather's actions or lack thereof. I plan to climb your corporate ladder as far as I feel necessary unless you can provide me with an acceptable solution. Losing a customer may or may not mean anything to you but I do hope you take in consideration that you have an employee handling sick and disabled customers and she clearly needs to be retrained, attend some customer relationship building courses and maybe even a social skills seminar.
In conclusion, I was asking the pharmacy team to check to see if my son's doctor prescribed medication was in stock or if I needed to use another location. Even with my account, personal and prescribing doctor information offered, Heather, the pharmacy tech still informed me that her location was in a "bad" neighborhood and I could be a potential robber so I would need to physically come in and ask for help. Additional information can be referenced on my account. Thank you for your consideration. I anticipate your reply.

Now for the 2nd month in a row I called in my prescription, was called by automated system that it was ready and I get there and the lady behind the counter can't find it on the computer but she did not understand enough English or was just a complete washout on the computer because I had to give her the DOB over and over and still she could not find me. The last time they wouldn't give my husband the medication even though it was on the second refill and I had picked it up the previous month. Then no one answers the phone ever, I tried for over an hour. This pharmacy is worthless and the head people at CVS need to clean house and replace the lot. I will go elsewhere from now on.

I came to Fresno to visit family and my doctor is in Los Angeles. My doctor called this CVS in question to fill a prescription. I called CVS several times and ** kept answering. He never once asked for my birth date. He only asked for my name and kept saying there's no prescription called in by my doctor. Finally, I told him to check! He said "well, there's no RX for you and we don't receive Rx from Los Angeles and we don't have fills prescriptions if we don't want to!!!" I said "really." He said "really! Bye!!!" I couldn't even say anything. He never explained the policy or anything. He was rude, quick to anger, short, and didn't let me speak. I called CVS mgmt and I spoke to the assistant mgr "**". This is the second time I've been duped by honest, yet deceptive sale specials at CVS in Greensboro, NC. This time I had a 20% coupon that stated "does not apply to sale items." I wanted to purchase a $20 product of protein powder. I noticed it was marked at 8 pt type "Buy one at regular price and get" (now at 30 pt. type) "50% off second purchase." I only wanted one so the savings did not apply to my purchase. Yet, neither did my 20% coupon since the item needed was tagged with a sales offer. Display-wise, the sales tag was deceptive by the small type of the condition and the huge size of the percentage discount offer. Purchase-wise, the coupon was deceptive because it did not apply to my purchase even though the sale did not apply to my purchase. The CVS price scale is high to begin with. They think they compensate with their many sale offerings, sent via email. But there is always a catch. Never shopping there again. I will pay full price at Walgreens before purchasing anything at CVS. And I'll spread the word.

I was then advised it would be a 45 min. to one hr. wait, I told them time was not an issue I just needed my pain meds due to being out and I had just had a procedure (spine block) that day and pain was intense. It had been about 45 min. then the Pharmacy Manager called me to the desk to update my insurance. I thought my insurance had already been verified by the young kid that help take my script. I again was told it would still be a few min. my script was being worked on.
The next thing I knew I was sitting in the waiting chairs and the Manager came out to let me know there was an error and they did not have my medications so I had waited for nothing!! To top things off due to the time of the evening it prevented me from seeking my medications at other local pharmacies due to the time of the evening. I would love to see a class action lawsuit. I feel they need the green paper bucks effected before they will ever make changes. I stop using CVS long time ago due to wrong meds given, amount of time to fill meds, not having meds in stock, and poor customer service.
I have learned all the big Corp. pharmacies which came into our towns and took over our mom and pop pharmacies are the death of us! I now use a mom and pop drug store and I receive the best care ever. The only downfall is the hours of operation for mom and pop, they believe in family time and we have been made to function without family time by stores open on Sundays and late evenings.
I was offered nothing by the manager for the errors they made, and they also had another customer having issues the same time I was there. Not sure how many employees would even want to work for this company. If this is how they treat customers which makes the pay check for them, what are they doing to the staff to give them the attitudes they carry?

I believe your Pharmacy Manager ** at Store #5111 in unincorporated West Boca Raton (**, Florida 33498 and 441) has surely forgotten what CVS was founded on: CUSTOMER, VALUE, and SERVICE!!! I have been a LIFE LONG customer and a Pharmacy customer since December of last year. I understand I have only spent out of pocket $271.73 and that equals roughly ~.000,000,005% of the $55 Billion your company did in gross sales last year. But even though, I feel that I should be treated with respect and dignity. I am at a loss to understand when the Pharmacy Manager became Judge, Jury and Executioner of my medicine?
My problem occurred in the late morning of October, 4th, 2014. Everything seemed to go like normal. I stood in line at the drop-off counter, relaying my prescription to the friendly pharmacy tech and was informed that she would just have to check if the medicine was in stock. No problem, standard procedure, I totally understand. Then your company seriously failed to deliver on its portion of VALUE and or SERVICE!!! I was called over to the patient counseling computer where the very rude Pharmacy Manager by the name of ** informed me of new guidelines that took effect on October 1st, 2014. ** then proceeded to enter in various data fields of information she did not disclose with me at the computer stationed in the patient counseling area. I was more then happy to oblige as she asked me for my First and Last name.
It was around this time I proceeded to ask if I was lost in the system since I had just given the same relevant information not more than 90 seconds ago to the very cordial pharmacy tech. Everything seemed on the up and up. Birth date ** quipped. I disclosed my birth date just as I had done 90 seconds before and then ** revealed that the new policy implemented was very cumbersome and implied that there were a lot more hoops to jump thru. At least that is what I gathered from all the various screens she seemed to be checking and entering my personal data in.
Only after entering my Script information, first name, last name and birth date did she inform me that due to the new guidelines she would not be able to fill my prescription in which my Doctor had deemed it appropriate to treat with a schedule II narcotic (the dirtiest word in the English vocabulary: NARCOTIC). I was completely baffled, shocked and flabbergasted. I quickly asked why did I fail to meet the guidelines? To which she could only offer me a blank stare and the very unsatisfactory answer: "I cannot disclose that information." I then asked to see in WRITING just exactly what the guidelines were that deemed it appropriate to deny me the necessary medicine to treat my condition with. Only recently had I been diagnosed with ADHD and was prescribed ** to treat the condition. It has really changed my life in a positive way the last couple of months. It was like night and day and now I was being denied my medicine and made to feel like a criminal because a small percentage of the population chooses to abuse the drug known as **.
Wow, you would think that ** had seen a ghost. How dare me question her authority as pharmacy manager. Then I started to put two and two together and realized I had been profiled. Bottom line, based on my outward appearance and nothing else, because the fact is I had filled the same exact prescription, from the same exact Doctor, for the same exact amount of Mg last month. Not one single thing had changed except for the fact that instead of the normal courteous and pleasant CVS Pharmacy manager I had been accustomed to, I was now dealing with the very unprofessional **. Anyone who knows anything about the pharmacists golden rule is that they can refuse and deny service to anyone they see fit. So I ask again, when did the Pharmacy Manager become Judge, Juror and Executioner of my medicine. I thought we had Drs to write prescription's in which we can help better our society and in which not to have pharmacy manager's decide based on outward appearances, age, dosage amounts or other discriminatory factors which many courts would find illegal to base opinions of service on. Why do we allow these types of discriminatory practices to plague our pharmaceutical corridors?
Whether or not we qualify for the medicine our Drs have already deemed appropriate and necessary is beyond me. If a Doctor says I need a particular medicine, where do you ** have the audacity to hide behind your computer and counter denying me of my medicine which helps me perform as a productive member of society. You are doing everyone a great disservice when you deny them of medicine that helps better their lives in ways that are unquantifiable. So I ask you, was my facial hair not groomed to your satisfaction? Did my lack of a collared shirt scream narcotic addict? Or was it the fact that my shirt was not tucked in cause you to judge me as a threat to society. It appears to me that ** forgot her Oath of a Pharmacist? Must I remind you?
"I promise to devote myself to a lifetime of service to others through the profession of pharmacy. In fulfilling this vow: I will consider the welfare of humanity and relief of suffering my primary concerns. I will apply my knowledge, experience, and skills to the best of my ability to assure optimal outcomes for my patients. I will respect and protect all personal and health information entrusted to me. I will accept the lifelong obligation to improve my professional knowledge and competence. I will hold myself and my colleagues to the highest principles of our professions moral, ethical and legal conduct. I will embrace and advocate changes that improve patient care. I will utilize my knowledge, skills, experiences, and values to prepare the next generation of pharmacists. I take these vows voluntarily with the full realization of the responsibility with which I am entrusted by the public."
**, please if you would just do your job in a professional and courteous manner, CVS would not have lost this customer for life. I promise to advocate against CVS and all who embrace their discriminatory practices. Good bye CVS. I shall bring all of my business to your biggest competitor WALGREENS and for that Walgreens corporation thanks you from the bottom of their bottom line. ** you should serve as a reminder to all at CVS why one should never treat another person with disrespect. Bottom line is that you were just overall plain rude and a person in which your duty is to consider the welfare of humanity and relief of the suffering, you failed. Your lack of compassion indicates to me that you are in the wrong profession. Denying service to a life long customer, you have alienated me and my entire family...being Italian that is a lot of people!

I went in to pick up a prescription that is a regulated drug that I have been taking for anxiety for a number of years. A new pharmacist told me he would not sign off on prescribing the drug before its due date - although in the past I have often filled this drug 7 days before the due date if I am traveling or simply for convenience refill it with my other prescriptions. He did state that I had refilled it early excessively in the past and that if I was taking it as prescribed I should have enough. He inferred that I am abusing the drug and that the DEA and the state of PA gave him the right to do this if he was uncomfortable with the prescription. I do not argue his right to state his opinion which was totally without merit, but I do argue his right to tell me this in a line where there were about 6 people behind me waiting to pick up prescriptions. He did not ask me to step aside to the consult area but made his comments in front of the other customers. I feel that my Hippo rights were violated.
In addition I have used this pharmacy for this drug for over 15 years and never been questioned. As a new pharmacist he could have asked the other pharmacists who have previously filled this about my record. I did call my doctor who agreed that he was totally out of line. I asked him if he had spoken with my doctor as this is a conversation I had with her but he implied that as a pharmacist he had the right to do this without further consults. I understand that this is true. However I do feel that my privacy rights were violated and while this is a he said she said situation I think the pharmacy involved needs to be aware of the issue. At the Dana Point, CA location - the lead pharmacist refused to fill a prescription that my doctor had first phoned in. Then, he was requested to fax in a hard copy. After my Dr. had provided her requests, she refused to fill any of the rx's and then ignored my Dr.'s phone calls all while SHE had just asked me to have him (my Dr.) call her back (the CVS-PiC). She was extremely rude and unprofessional in her conduct. She denied my service because first - I was attempting to have controlled substances filled via authorization from a Dr. in another state. I am not a permanent resident of the state of CA. I'm here for a work project. Second, these controlled substances are prescribed to manage and to deter the use and abuse of certain other controlled substances. There is no high obtained by me from taking this medication. This particular medication will make you sick if you take the medication that binds to the same brain receptors. Therefore- denying me this would likely only send me out in search of the very medications I never want to have anything to do with again.
And now the best part of it all - her reasoning was that the DEA had just changed policies yesterday stating no out of state dr. can prescribe any type of medication and that all meds must be obtained by an in-state Dr. Even if you're here on a business trip; you must first make an appointment. She then went on to yell out how she could care less what my Dr. has to say, that he's a bogus dr. (??) and it's up to her and the DEA to say whether or not I can get my medications. Just a completely arrogant, self righteous, pompous lady. Probably the most embarrassing experience I've ever had in a store, of any type. She was loud so that everybody waiting in line knew exactly what medications I was attempting to have refilled.
Wow, truly made me feel great - take meds for severe panic attacks and anxiety, along with another that's used for managing and preventing the use of narcotics. That what I want everyone to know about - embarrassing enough to even get it in the first place, now the whole store knows. Nice. And saying she was going to alert the police if I questioned her again. I said all of two sentences to her the whole time - "Ma'am I can have my doctor call you" and "Hi, I'm checking if my dr. has called in an rx for me?" I'm rambling, but the experience was so bad it had me write this report.

Over the years, I've been going to CVS because they filled my younger sister's prescriptions. At first, there were no problems. However, after a year and a half, the employees have been getting rude to the point where every prescription they filled they shorted out the pills and when my mom complained about it, they simply said to go to another pharmacy. Soon after we did but we went to a CVS in another part of town and another similar experience happened, so I think I'm switching to Walgreens. With changes like these, CVS shouldn't be in business another 10 years.

I called to order my prescription at 150 pharmacy. Said the prescription would be ready at 3:15 which I had an apt at 4. It was only one prescription which was on medicine, no pills that they would have to count out. I got there at 3:35 waited into the drive-through line over ten min. When you finally get to the window he tells me that the prescription was not ready. I told him we had an apt at 4 and it was suppose to be ready at 3:15. It is always a long wait at cvs. My mom goes to her doctor's pharmacy. She usually gets at least 3 bottles of pills filled and she has never waited, passes 15 mins. I just don't understand why cvs is so slow. But I do believe that they never filled my prescription until I got there. Instead of just being honest and saying that they act like it took that long. It does not take 3 hours to fill a bottle of liquid medicine. The location was the cvs on 2nd loop. I will not go there again.

My daughter was in an addiction recovery program, by her own choice. Strict guidelines like pain meds, you are set to run out of meds the day you return to the doctor. CVS was constantly putting her off to fill the meds, by a day or two to 7 days, making her do without. Then when it came to the amount we had to pay, they would gouge for a different amount of money. We had to pay it. It was unreal of the constant mental torture they put her through.

You think it sucks to shop here? Try working for this company as a pharmacy employee. The reason the pharmacy staff is so rude and unhelpful is b/c the CVS business model concerning their employees is "burn 'em out quick as you can." This means work your new people as hard as you can (i.e. 14 hour shifts with no breaks, 60 + hour work weeks, less than $1 annual pay increase, and little more than minimum wage for technicians) so that they quit before we have to invest too much into 401k accounts or raises or paid time off. As a former CVS employee, I believe this company will be out of business within the next ten years due to the way they treat their employees, and in turn the way the store employees treat the customers. To all of the unsatisfied customers: Keep complaining. Keep transferring your prescriptions to other pharmacies. CVS is a monster, and the people who run this company are straight from the pits of hell. Let's put them out of business!

I have been dealing with Lovelace Pharmacy in Ocean Springs, MS for years. They are an old-fashioned drugstore with a soda fountain and a real personal touch. It was always like going to see friends and they were very efficient. They were then bought out by Fred's, a local chain, but everything stayed the same. Just a few weeks ago Fred's sold all our prescription records to CVS. That made everyone very angry, but I thought I would give CVS a try. I dropped off two prescriptions at noon. They said it would be four hours, which was shocking.
I waited to go back until 7:00 pm and one of the prescriptions wasn't even ready. I had a very hard time being waited on. The woman at first went to wait on a man who had just come in after she had seen me waiting for a long time. They finally had my meds ready and told me the ** was $50. I told them that must be a mistake because I paid $23 at Lovelace. I refused the medication, and I will be going to CVS tomorrow and make arrangements to have my prescriptions sent to the independent pharmacy across the street. Aside from the inconvenience and extremely poor and unfriendly service, I refuse to be fleeced. There's something wrong when a little independent drug store can sell a drug for $23 and a big chain like CVS charges fifty. I'm going to ask the local consumer reporter on WLOX to look into price gouging and predatory practices by chain drug stores.

So my daughter decided that 3:30 pm on a Sunday was time to let me know she has an earache and has been hurting for a few days no less. I take her to CVS Minute Clinic in Thorndale, PA to be seen. The website says you can check into the Kiosk up until 4:15 pm. In fairness it says if there are too many people you may not be seen. So it is 3:58 PM and 1 lady in front of my dtr. I am putting her info in the kiosk and the PA/NP whatever she is comes out and says quite rudely "I won't see you, I don't have time and we close." I remind her what the website says and she replies "I'm leaving and I won't see you. Come back tomorrow at 9:00 AM." I am FURIOUS.
I am a registered Nurse and have been in the medical field for 25 years and NEVER EVER have I seen a patient not be seen once in the establishment before closing, a child much less. I highly doubt it would have taken her 30 min to see the lady in front of us especially since it is a minute clinic and they do not deal with serious issues. Not even mentioning that not even Dr.s offices takes 30 min with patients nowadays. I have thrown away my care card and will NEVER enter a CVS store again. I will tell everyone I know to veto CVS. I have already filed a complaint to corporate and called in a complaint to customer service. I am also contacting the local newspaper to have a shame on you put in the blog. I am appalled at this minute clinic.

I had poor service at the CVS on Mustang Rd., Yukon, OK before and swore I would never go back -- waiting HOURS for prescriptions. However, yesterday I had to go the Urgent Care clinic, which was right next door. Diagnosed with a bladder infection. Discharge instructions stated the prescriptions were sent to CVS. I spent a few moments shopping for personal care items to give them time to fill the 2 scripts -- approx 10-15 mins. When I went to the counter I was told they had no prescriptions for me and I had to call the facility to find out why. So, I made the call and was told they sent the scripts, but would send again.
Another 10 mins, I go back to the counter -- now I'm REALLY hurting. Tech tells me they still don't have my prescription, BUT TO GO HAVE A SEAT AND WAIT TO SEE IF IT EVENTUALLY COMES IN! Really!! She then tells me they are having trouble with their system. I had to insist THEY call my provider so I could get my meds -- which were just an antibiotic and a bladder numbing medicine. 6 employees all standing around jabbering while a line of customers waited. Unbelievable!! I guarantee you I will NEVER use CVS, at any location, again.

The pharmacy staff member incorrectly determined the number of days I had used my medication, and then said I could not fill my new RX. She illogically formulated the number of days I had taken pills from my previously filled prescription. I filled a prescription on July 4th and wanted to fill my new prescription on Aug 1st at 7 pm. Obviously if you count the days pills were taken starting with July 4th and including Aug 1st, you would formulate 29 days.
She told me I could not fill my new prescription because it had only been 27 days since my last filling. Well OBVIOUSLY her mathematics were incorrect! She did the following... She subtracted July 4th from July 31st (31-4=27). Yes this is illogical because it does not include July 4th or August 1st. Why would one of your employees tell me I could not "argue" with her determination of 27 days? She was NOT being nice to your customer (who was correct!). Also she was WRONG! Why would you employ someone who is not nice or logical?

Then a few months later again this time, my husband called the main office where they were told that CVS would replace the missing pills at no charge to me. Again it happened, this time with percoset where 40 pills were missing in a script for 90. Again my husband called the main office where they went into the store and the count was way off. First of all, pharmacist are doctors. They attend graduate school and after completing that are given their DOCTRINE of pharmacy, hence the PharmD part. And they deserve respect just like anyone else. I guarantee if your doctor writes a prescription wrong and the pharmacist fills it just as it was written and something happens to you because of that, you would sue that pharmacist for all you could. Second of all, I can tell you that in my state, it is illegal per state board of pharmacy to split control substances and bill part to insurance and allow another part to be billed as cash. The easy way to solve this problem is for the doctor prescribing the medication to write 2 separate prescriptions, one for 150 and the other for 30. You fill one of them and when you are almost out, you fill the other. Simple solution. I'm not a pharmacist but I see how they are treated by many others and I don't think it is right.

On three different occasions I have encountered rude, lazy personnel. Also they have also given inconsistent information. About five weeks ago CVS on Jackson street - I came in and asked Bob (I think that is his name). I asked him about refilling a medicine I take. He said no before even checking. After further discussion he realizes I have refill, he then says no. He can't split up the scrip. This is not true. I do it all the time. I then say, "I only need five until I can call my doc." He said, "Why do you need to do that?" I said because it is early. He was already filling it. He says, "Then I can't fill it at all." He never would have caught it. I said, "I will come back tomorrow when the pharmacist who is a regular, they know me." It was getting too complicated. I figured I will go without.
Sunday I was in withdrawal. This pharmacy had handled this same issue differently every time before. I got a hold of my doc who approved the scrip but Bob would not fill it. So I went to the Er. $500 later. Nobody there could write this drug. On the way home from the hospital I stopped at Walgreens and explained the situation. Lisa there transferred my scrip and filled it right then for the partial amount I could afford. I had called CVS pharm district mgr with not even a whisper of acknowledgement back. The night I walked in I knew Bob didn't want to help me. Every answer out of his mouth was negative. Much like Stella at the Temple Ave. store this eve. I walked in, asked her if they had my medicine in stock. She had no out of her mouth without even checking.
I said, "You haven't even checked." She snottily said, "I don't got it." I said, "You mean it is ten of ten and you don't have it?" Another stellar service experience. Last night I called the Lower Fayetteville Rd store and said, "Do you have ** 30mg 30 count in stock?" She said I can't give out that info on the phone. I said, "So I drive across town at 930 pm to figure this out"??? This again being a new rule. True or not with my experience so far it is another injected negative. It is like they take pleasure in creating difficulty. How they stay in business is shocking. Knowing people are dependent on these meds, it is a shame. Compassion doesn't appear to be a prerequisite for hiring a pharmacist. To add further insult a mgr doesn't even respond to a concern - that speaks volumes.

It was just as bad. Now it is even worse in Daphne & Mobile Alabama.
The CVS in NC was never on time when rx were called in, faxed or brought in, but at least they carried my pain meds. I have 3 chronic very painful illnesses and have a pain contract with my doctor in Pittsboro, NC. So I have to take a fair quantity of meds. It was very difficult to drive 30 minutes to get to the pharmacy, then have to wait another 45 minutes for them to fill rx that were called in etc.. two days or more before. I've always had unnecessary trouble getting my medications filled-- i.e., erroneous information telling me the doctor hadn't called when he had in fact called several times, informing me the nurse hadn't called when she had and telling me my medication wasn't there or filled when in fact it was already ready for pickup. This has caused problems not only for me, but for my relationship with my medical care because they have to repeatedly call the pharmacy to get my information correctly recorded, due to the sheer ineptitude of the pharmacists and staff.
This also causes problems for my family, as they have to pick up the medication. Conditions have worsened GREATLY since the new head pharmacist was employed. The night pharmacist refused to fill it for me. He said that because it was a class A narcotic, I can only get it filled during normal business hours, so he decided I could pick them up at 8am. I mentioned the fact that the store was a 24 hour CVS, so these ARE regular business hours. He wouldn't budge. I find it hard to believe that CVS has such a policy, but I am going to go to their website and file a complaint. This same pharmacist has been rude to me in the past - making comments insinuating that I was some kind of pill head. I came home fuming! I'm so glad to have found this site - even if nothing comes of it, I'm grateful I could get it off my chest, and share my experience!

Tired of going to pharmacist who start getting judgmental and that lie when trying to fill pain prescriptions. My short story - High grade Sarcoma -2004 tumor removal after chemo and radiation, MRSA infection, total of 5 operations- scar tissue. All lead to severe chronic pain. Have been taking pain meds for 10 years. Almost every time I go to get a script filled, there is some new obstacle thrown at me by a CVS pharmacist on why they can't fill script. Pharmacist #1 - 10 months in a row tells me some new and creative way to tell me why he can not fill my script, stand there with a stupid grin on his face holding my script and asks would you like your script back? I say sure and then return to same pharmacy 8 hours later and give script to evening pharmacist who immediately fills the script. I've heard, we are out and then I fill it 8 hours later, we have exceeded store monthly quota, I take return to pharmacy 8 hours later and get it filled.
Pharmacist #2, I can't read the Dr.'s name, handwriting. Yup, 8 Hours later I get it filled. Is he trying to win a CVS contest for least opioid scripts filled? Today I hear we need a diagnostic code - Really after 10 years? Apparently, there is a new regulation trying to limit the amount of pain relief I can get or how much I have to suffer. I return with new script with Dr.'s name clearly legible, Oh I can't read what Dr. is prescribing, I return a few hours later with a clearly legible script, oh, there's no date on script. He turns to his pharmacist buddy and they chuckle. I go to Walgreens with original script, they fill it. Tired of the entire system. Most of all Insurance Co. trying to save a buck. Everybody blames each other. I believe in Karma and all the pain I suffer needlessly will return to those that have caused excess pain. I hope when these people are exiting this world, they experience intense pain and then they overhear a Dr. say no don't give them anymore pain medicine - the pharmacist doesn't like filling those scripts.

Went to CVS in Boca Raton Military and ClintMoore to pick up a prescription. For a vaginal cream. Noticed it was filled improperly and asked for it to be corrected. All of a sudden the pharmacist comes forward and said I needed to reach the doctor. I told her she was wrong and the right meds were in her system. She then went to the computer about 6 feet away from me and yelled for everyone to hear "was that for a vaginal cream". I told her that was against HIPPA. She said too bad and she would not give me my medication as she was in charge. There was nothing I could do but leave and tell her she started with the wrong person. This was at 5:15 Sunday. At 5:50, I received a voice mail that it was ready. Problem was they close at 6, therefore could not get it. I suffered the whole night without the meds to relieve my problem. Went in the following day and requested her to be transferred.
After speaking to 20 different people all rude and unprofessional. Everyone from district managers, customer service managers, risk management adjusters, I have come to the conclusion that they all kicked me to the curb and just wanted me to go away. They started off after 2 months of communication with an offer of a gift card for $500. I told them to keep it. They lie, don't return phone calls and it all seems there is a conspiracy against once loyal customers. I finally called an in-house attorney that is attempting to help me. CVS is the most disgusting corporation when it comes to treating their customer's concerns. This pharmacist was in violation of HIPPA, covering her name with her hand, violation of patients bill of rights and not giving me my meds. The corporation's CEO Larry is too busy spending his huge bonus and enjoying his huge yacht to worry about his customer's we'll being.

About a month ago, I went to the CVS at South Shore Plaza Mall near Boston. It was about 9:25 and they advertise their Saturday hours as open until 9:30. But at 9:25, a woman blocked the entrance and refused to let me get allergy medication. SO tonight you can imagine how surprised I was when I went to the SAME CVS store at 9:15 and this time the Manager (I believe) was blocking the entrance and told me, "We are closed". I walked in and said, "Your hours say until 9:30" Her response, "Well too bad we are closing early." Unbelievable how consistently RUDE the employees at this particular CVS, including the Manager!!! Maybe they are just trained to be intentionally RUDE at this CVS store??

To give some background: I am a healthcare professional, and I also suffer from bipolar disorder and PCOS. I NEED my medication for my brain chemistry and estrogen levels to remain at normal levels. Not only did CVS reps give me the run around, belittle me, berate me, YELL at me, blame me for my situation, and ultimately refuse to give me my medications, but they LIED to me about having contacted my doctor's office and when I, on the verge of tears, outright BEGGED for the meds I need in order to function, the rep's response was to hang up on me. I was without my medications for almost a WEEK on TWO different occasions, all the while frantically trying to obtain medications I've been on for years.
After two days without my meds, I start to experience medication withdrawal. Do you have any idea what it's like to withdraw from an antidepressant and/or an anti-seizure medication? It's hell on earth, and also very dangerous. I've dealt with many different pharmacies and I have NEVER been treated this way by any of them. CVS should be ashamed and, in my opinion, should be put out of business because of their gross negligence. Oddly enough, when I was communicating with my doc's office about this, I was informed that mine is not an isolated situation; they hear these same complaints from many patients who use CVS pharmacy. Now that I (finally) have procured my medications, I plan to never set foot inside a CVS again, and will encourage all of my colleagues and patients to do the same. A completely disgraceful corporation.

My Insurance sends periodic reports to me & my Pain Clinic which I'm sure is regular procedure for everyone that's on Pain Medications. But in my case the person that filled my prescription on (1) occasion put the WRONG Dr.'s Name on the prescription Report. So when I received my copy, I noticed the mistake & even contacted my Pain Clinic and spoke with one of the Doctor's Assistants and was told not to worry about it, that she would make note of it. Well on my next Clinic Visit, everything seemed normal except when I signed in they said I didn't have to Pay today which I felt was unusual but went ahead and sat down to await my turn.
When I was called to go back to what I thought was just a regular visit, a Nurse Practitioner came into the room and Informed me that I was being discharged by the doctor that I thought was a trusted physician that I'd been dealing with for over a YEAR NOW because they said I had gone to another doctor for my medications. I then tried to explain exactly what had happened but was rudely interrupted and told it doesn't matter!! But that when the doctor discharges a patient, it's over And no ifs and/or buts about it!! The case is Closed!!
I then Contacted the CVS Pharmacy that made the Mistake and they looked it up and found it and then apologized for their mistake and said it would be corrected through their Corporate Office as well and that they would contact my Pain Clinic and explain what happened. Well, I waited and waited until the next day and then called the Clinic expecting to be told I was re-instated but instead was told to just give it up and go find another Pain Doctor, that they were not going to take me back regardless the doctor's name & clinic is located here: Dr. Anthony ** (Seymour, INDIANA Pain Cntr.) & (Jeffersonville, INDIANA).
It's my Opinion that people that are legitimate Pain Patients (AND IN PAIN/WITH DOCUMENTATION) are screwed because of the new law's that are in effect now. I'm 58 years old, have had Major Back Surgery and still have Severe Arthritis of the back as well as other problems. Dr. ** told me on several occasions that I would be on pain medications the rest of my life so it's hard for me to understand WHY HE WOULD DISCHARGE ME JUST LIKE THAT!!! I have NEVER ABUSED ANY OF MY MEDICATIONS AND HAVE TAKEN THEM AS PRESCRIBED but went through (2 1/2 WEEKS OF WITHDRAWAL, HELL) because of what he did! Two trips to the Hospital and in pain ever since while my personal physician is supposed to be getting me in another clinic (not holding my breath). So now, I'll just have to cope with the pain and sleepless nights until I hopefully get another Pain Doctor SOON!!!

I have used CVS ever since they bought out Longs here in San Diego. Over the past year I started checking the accuracy of their receipts when I used their coupons or bought sale items. Increasingly I catch errors - the most recent this morning prompting me to write and leaving me wondering if there isn't a class action suit potential here. Today bought CVS sunblock that was supposed to be on sale two for $10. Rang up as $7.99 each - had 2 clerks and 1 manager look at it - right item - their barcode wrong preventing correct ring up (barcode had 6 oz when product is 10 oz).
This was a small error, the others have larger repercussions. The errors that I have caught repeatedly are that their coupons for 20%, 25%, etc do not discount items as advertised. Greeting cards are not excluded yet the discount never seems to be applied. Every purchase there are items which qualify (not on-sale, not promotional, not an excluded item) but are not discounted. I suspect most folks don't check. I started only because I noticed the money saved seemed to be too small. Each time this has happened the clerk just does an over-ride and gives me cash back. I suspect CVS is saving themselves a lot of $ with these errors.

I have tried to get my prescription and the Pharmacist Rabi does not look women in the eye. He says, "We don't have it. Go away." I have battle this with them for about six months, it all came to a boil. When my husband spoke to the Manager Nando, told them I am going to be out. I go to the Doctor each month and now I am being denied. The Manager Nando transfer him to Rabi, who basically told my husband he isn't filling it and doesn't care that he caters to Snowbirds first and locals last. My husband begged Rabi then he said something to my husband and my husband became very angry said, "If you kill my Wife I will sue you."
Rabi said something else. My husband said, "Mate, you will be held accountable." Rabi hung up on my husband. I called a friend who is a Pharmacist, asked him who I should speak to above the Manager. He said the Regional Manager. I called back, spoke to the Manager Nando, ask for the Regional Manager. He asked what is going on. We explain that Rabi just hung up on my husband, we want to take it to the top. I explain to him what Rabi did. He didn't seem to care. First Rabi says that the Distributor doesn't give him much schedule 2 medication (pain meds) then Nando is telling me it is because they have been robbed so many times. When I mention that the pain meds are locked in a safe he said he doesn't care. He is not ordering that much and Rabi doesn't have to provide them even though I see a Doctor each month.
I have been calling the Regional Manager Hahn (first name). He tells me now they have never been robbed (LIARS). He says it is because I live in California and I see a California Doctor so I should get my meds in California. I said, "But Rabi says he caters to Snowbirds first and Locals last. I am not a Snowbird but you are my closest Pharmacy." He claims he will speak to Rabi regarding this, but basically he is not going to fill my medication because I live in California. Rabi is Arab and I have stood in those long line and watch him. He looks at men in the face but with women he will not look at them in the face. He just says, "We do not have them. Go away." I have taken ** for 9 years for ADHD. Without it I have been described as "spinning" and "a train wreck." When I was in college I almost burned up my dorm because of this. I am also disabled, and have an illness which requires intensive though outpatient treatment. In my favor, I have a high IQ and a PhD in psychology. I have a great CVS with an awful pharmacy (though the pharmacist is a nice guy, others there are not). Each month I run out of medication because they run out, even though I have been filling my script there for five years. Each month I have to struggle to regain my functioning because I miss several days until the order comes in.
This past month I went there ahead of time (they will not answer this by phone). They said they had it and I came back and they did. This month I went on the day it was due to be filled. My friend drove me there and she handed the prescription to the person at the drive through window. He said they didn't have it and that it would be at least a week before they could get any. I know this isn't true because when they order it for me it takes 3-4 days. He also did not consult with the pharmacist. He refused to call another CVS to see if they had any (they have done this for me in the past), and finally, worst of all, he tried to convince my friend (she was in the driver seat and I was in the passenger seat) that Methylphenidate is a narcotic. It is a class II substance and so are narcotics. But anyone working in a pharmacy should know better.
I will be talking to the store manager, who is an awesome person, and calling the corporate office, because at least if you're going to turn someone away, you'd better give them correct information. This man (possibly an exaggeration) did not help us in any way. For example, he could have told us where another CVS was located and what the hours were - by the time we got to the next closest one it was closed. He could have given correct information about the medication. He could have consulted with the pharmacist to get a better sense of when the medication would be available, and when it could be ordered. Instead he did nothing but turn us away. I intend to make this as public as possible. I feel bad for the manager and the regular pharmacist, both of whom know me and treat me well, but this guy should not have his job, not if he's going to give bad information out to patients.

So I went to CVS store# 8291 in Grand Rapids, MI to get a Rx filled after being diagnosed with walking pneumonia. Of course the cough suppressant had a narcotic in it and thus had to be hand delivered. So I go at 1145pm on April 7th and pull up to the drive thru. After waiting 7 minutes (that's when I started tracking the time after thinking gee this is taking awhile), an older man comes over the speaker and says, "I'll be with you shortly."
Out of curiosity I thought I wonder how long "shortly" is. So I started the stopwatch on my iPhone. NINE minutes go by, he didn't come back. So of course feeling like garbage, I'm already not in the greatest mood. I decide to go in and drop it off. I walk to the pharmacy to find ONE person working, just the pharmacist. Phone ringing off the hook, about 7 patients in line, so this poor man was expected to answer the phone, fill Rx's, take in new Rx's, check people out and everything in between. It wasn't his fault. It was poor staffing on CVS' end. I decided to not take it out on him and waited patiently. Although he never acknowledged I had been waiting at the drive thru. He then proceeds to tell me it'd be 15 mins. Okay, so I walk around the store. FORTY-FIVE minutes go by and still no update. FINALLY after an hour the Rx is ready.
I'm not one to typically complain but I emailed the CVS consumer affairs email address because I mean really? Also, there was one person working the register up front and stocking at the same time, not very safe. I had an Rx filled at CVS before and it was not a pleasant experience either. I went there because I had to this time. They were the only pharmacy that had what I needed in stock.

No communication over there, no one knows what they're doing except head pharmacist. Even then I have problems. I want my money back and a new pharmacy.

I received a coupon on my email for my birthday, which was nice. Nowhere in the flyer does it state you cannot use your mobile phone to use the coupon. It would be nice to have that information up front. With the price of gas these days, it is crazy to have to go and print the coupon and then return to use it. Another thing, if an item is advertized on sale and you go that day of the sale, the item is already out of stock. You can get a raincheck only to find out the item is still out of stock. How many times does a person have to waste time going back and forth to receive the product? Something should be done.

First, I am dying and have uncontrollable pain until my specialist found a drug that would work. They had to fight with my insurer CVS Caremark to get it approved and then later CVS took it away from me (I am told by many in the know that the cost is the chief reason). So, my husband said he will pay the thousands the drug cost even if he goes broke so I don't die in pain. Went to several CVS drugstores and to purchase and they said they only get a limited supply, sorry can't get it for me. Called corporate and they said, no this is up to the pharmacist? Who is lying, all the pharmacist or CVS?
Went to a little one man operation pharmacy where they can get unlimited supplies and he is so sweet and competent. So CVS Caremark and CVS drugstores should not be on anyone's list. I have learned since, they have a terrible record of getting drugs on time, etc. and many of their pharmacist seem to be unsupervised and incompetent. Because I don't want to leave my loving husband broke, I will be traveling to Vermont to receive doctor assisted suicide! Thank You CVS, I only hope you get what you deserve in your end. Is this what we are coming to in this country?

The first week I had gotten someone else's prescription of ** and then the next week I had gotten 10 short. My doctors rule is I must get 30 per week, always has been. So these pharmacists see me every week so I had talked to the CVS manager who told me to just make sure they count them before I leave. All but one do this, but there is the lead pharmacist that refuses to do so. Then I went to the next boss who has pretty much swept it under the rug and blew it off. What do I do now this week?

There would be no way for me to drive out to get a prescription or to get to hospital, why not give me the prescription before the storm hit if I was standing there right in front of her. She couldn't even send to get the other half of the prescription at another CVS Pharmacy cuz it wasn't allowed, it is a policy but she partial my medication, gave me only have one time when it was convenient for her. It's just that this time it was convenient for me and not for her so she didn't give it to me. I'm hoping I don't get snowed in and I can get to that pharmacy tomorrow and that it's open cuz its a 24-hour pharmacy and it's closed right now due to severe weather conditions. The CVS Pharmacy in Brookville Indiana, has told me to call ahead to make sure they have the supply of my husband's meds in stock. I called 3 days ahead of time, as they asked - went to pick up the prescription and was told they did not have the full amount but they would give him a 3 1/2 day supply. The pharmacist told me that the rest should be in the next day. I waited a couple days called and was told by the pharmacist that we could pick up another 30, but when I got there he stated that he had not known I had picked up 30 already - and would only give 10 - which takes us to today - now they are not sure if it will be available or not until 530 pm - the prescription is for 240 pills, they keep the prescription - I can not even go to another CVS to pick up the remaining.
My husband is a veteran who had his leg ripped off fractured his femur, and damaged his back - His Dr prescribes these meds because it is what helps him with his pain. Their response is very lackadaisy, the pharmacist stated in front of customers that he should be able to make it on 6 a day - the dr. prescribed 8 a day. It is like they could care less and to expect them to have your prescription ready when they told you it would be does not matter. Their reason was the snow, yet the pharmacy down the street has gotten the meds and the CVS in Connersville had the meds, but since Brookville has the prescription - it nullifies our ability to even get the remaining pills filled in Connersville's CVS. They lacked telling us all of this when they took the prescription, gave us 30 until the supply man comes with them, I called them in on the 7th -they were to have them on the 9th - and now they tell us they are not sure they will get them today, they will not know until 530 pm. We are switching pharmacies.

I scheduled flu shots for my wife and I on January 2nd for an appointment at 2pm on January 4th. My confirmation number was **. We were almost done with the paperwork to get the shots when the pharmacist (who is on another call) yells over to the clerk that she thought they had used up all of the flu vaccine in the morning. The clerk checks and sure enough they had no flu vaccine. Why is it that when they ran out they didn't look at pending appointments and call me? When someone makes an appointment shouldn't some effort be made to see if you will have supply on hand? Is this how you run your all stores or is store 2447 grossly incompetent?
Here are the questions I am asking myself: Why do I have all of my business with CVS? Why does my employer use CVS? Why don't I go across the street to RiteAid? Why don't I transfer my prescriptions to RiteAid or Walgreens? Your response will determine my next step. I sent an email a week ago to the CVS feedback address and have not received a reply.

One morning a week ago I left my Dr's office with a written prescription for **, quantity of 60 pills. Since CVS Pharmacy was directly across the street I decided to have it filled there so I wouldn't have to drive across town. I went to the pharmacy drive thru and the pharmacist said he couldn't fill it until noon. It was 10:30 am. I don't know if he meant it would be ready by noon or that I was allowed narcotics until noon but either way he didn't say why and I didn't feel like asking him. Since he wasn't making any sense, I took my prescription and proceeded down the street.
I went to Walgreens but they were out of stock. Further down the street I found another CVS on the way home (store #4625 525 West Parker Road PLANO, TX 75075). Everything went smoothly until I got home and noticed the bottle seeming almost empty. I only received 30 pills for a 60 qty prescription. I called the pharmacy and the pharmacist asked to call me back while she checked inventory. I gave her my phone number and never heard from her. Five hours later I called again. The same person answered and she claimed that the inventory was correct. She suggested that I "check my home to see if they've been misplaced" as if I could actually randomly lose 30 pills exactly all at once without a single trace of them anywhere.
She offered to speak on my behalf if I had my doctor's office call so he can write a prescription for the other half. I called my Dr, the nurse called CVS. The nurse told me that the pharmacist said that they DID dispense the right amount and there was NO problem, making me look like a liar. Due to so many dishonest people, when we fall victim to a pharmacist theft or negligence, we can't saying anything about it without being accused and dismissed as a drug abuser. My Dr refused to write another prescription and now I will be out of my meds midway through the month. I contacted the pharmacy manager. She claims to have filed a complaint for me but I don't believe her. I'm going to file it to corporate myself. I don't know what is going on with CVS pharmacy, but it looks like their theft, lying, bad customer service and/or negligence is a nationwide problem.

After spending considerable time giving personal information to a pharmacy technician, I was then told that my prescriptions would take up to 24 hours before they would filled. I asked to speak with the pharmacist who did not mind telling me there was no particular order in which they had to give information out. They give info out as it comes to mind, and in other words, if the customer does not ask for information in a particular order, they are not required to give it in a particular order. As the customer, you are not always privileged to company's policy and procedures. You do not know what questions to ask.
Needless to say, I felt I was being toyed with and it became confrontational, and like I told the pharmacist, people's medications are too important to their life to be put into a battling situation with people who have the power to fill, not fill or not fill on a timely bases. If I had known it was going to take that long to get my medications filled - that I must take on a daily bases - I would have made other arrangements. And, I certainly would not have given as much information as I did and wasted my time (and theirs) giving it when I could have made other arrangements and possibly gotten them sooner.
After asking for the store manager and hearing the pharmacist yell out to her (I now so clearly recall and never will forget), "THIS WOMAN WANTS TO TALK TO YOU." And, needless to say, the Manager was just as rude. After calling the store back and being placed on hold, after identifying myself to the same technician, shortly thereafter slammed down the phone on the receiver, hung up on me, the phone line went dead.
In a small town like Decatur, Texas where the resources are so few, it is very unsettling to know racism does exist in healthcare and it is practiced without any shame. I know if this has happened to me after my first experience at Decatur CVS Store #4880 it has happened to others like me. If there is any doubt to the truth of my experience, it is certainly worth mentioning it in a public forum and let the public be my judge.
I have a few suggestions, CVS Corp. office should spend some money on hiring 'Secret Shoppers', or the Corp officers should call their stores and check on their employees' customer service. Checks to see if it really takes 24 hours to get prescription(s) transferred in today's high efficient technology age.

On November 12th, 2013, I had a pretty big surgery. A week before the surgery, I went into CVS to fill 4 prescriptions that I would need for after the surgery; an antibiotic, an anti-nausea, a muscle relaxer, and of course a pain medication. The muscle relaxer and pain medication are of course, controlled substances. I had my scripts filled, no big deal. I came back a week after my surgery to fill another script for pain medication (30 tabs to take every 4 to 6 hours). Got them filled no big deal. 3rd visit had been three weeks since I went in for any scripts. I was off of my pain meds and recovering quite well until I fell down my stairs and tore my scar open. I went into my surgeon, he wanted to give me **. I asked for something lesser as I didn't feel ** was necessary. He gave me ** instead. It's still a controlled substance though.
CVS humiliated me and would't fill the Rx. The tech said she would see if it was in stock. She took it to the pharmacist and they looked up my info. The pharmacist comes over and says she isn't going to fill it. I ask why. She said I came in on 11/16/2013 (this was on 12/13/2013) to fill ** 30 tabs and that I should have 5 or 6 of those left. I gave her the most puzzled look ever. I said yes, I did get ** 3 weeks ago and it was for 30 tabs to take every 4-6 hours. Then I proceeded to do the math for her. At most, taking 1 tab every 4 hours is 6 tabs a day (per 24 hours) 30 tabs divided by 6 tabs a day is 5 days' worth of medication that I had filled 3 WEEKS ago. She proceeded to get her calculator. She then said it looked like the new medication was too much. I asked her to call my doctor to verify if he made a mistake, he would gladly fix it. She flat out refused!
When she realized I was right, she asked for my Driver's License. I gave it to her along with my military ID because my Driver's License is from my home state. She said she wouldn't fill it because my driver's license isn't from the state we currently are stationed in. I told her that is why I gave her my military ID. My address is at the near by military base here, like 6 miles up the road. They never had a problem before with using my military ID, it's my insurance card as well. She told me to go get a new license. I told her no. I have never had to do that and I DON'T have to do it since we move frequently. I have residence in another state but am stationed here so I can keep my license. She asked me how many times I move!!!!
By this time there are about 5 or 6 people behind me listening to this whole conversation because I am getting heated with her. She then asked why I needed the pain medication (which people could hear) I told her I was in pain. She asked why. I told her I had surgery and I tore my scar. THAT was NOT her business at all! She asked me what kind of surgery. I was so flipping mad that everyone could hear this conversation. I asked her to call my Dr. and talk to him about it. She refused. Finally, I offered to pull my pants down and show her the scar and drainage tubes but apparently she didn't want to see it.
I grabbed my things and as I was doing that, she said "So, you don't want me to fill this for you?" Seriously? You humiliated me, treated me like a drug addict, and violated HIPAA by asking me these questions while people could hear the conversation. No. I took my business elsewhere.

First, and foremost, I would like to say that I have been a loyal customer to CVS for a number of years. The service had always been great; however, the customer service at your Mamaroneck store 1100 East Boston Post Road has greatly declined in the last six months.
I visited the Mamaroneck store, and I was helped by **, who I had been mistreated by in previous occasions, but never like this. I asked her to help me find the price of a bottle of Aveno shampoo, because there was no price label on this item. She gave me an appalling attitude and snatched the bottle out of my hands. Then she went to check on the price. I was astonished that CVS would let someone with this sort of behavior work in one of its stores, let alone, manage one, as I came to find out. When ** came back, I asked her if everything was okay. She said in a condescending tone that she was fine. I then, I proceeded to ask if she had a problem with the fact that I asked her to check on an item price for me, which she replied in an loud tone "NO!". That upset me a great deal. I asked her if I could please talk to her manager. She replied: "I'm the manager". So I asked her If I could please speak to her supervisor. ** told me, "she was in charge of the store because the general manger was on vacation." This was not an isolated incident. In the past I have asked her to help me with coupons, and she gave me the same look of disgust.
I am quite disillusioned with the CVS corporation, because there is clearly no customer service training for the Management department at the Mamaroneck store. On top of that, I have since witnessed ** not only mistreat other customers with her poor attitude and condescending tone, but also mistreat employees in front of customers. If this treatment of employees happens in the floor, I cannot imagine what happens behind closed doors.
However, I must also mention that the majority of the employees, this of course excludes the management staff , are wonderfully helpful. They are always willing to help. This I think is why CVS, has been successful thus far. I am asking for CVS to provide better training for the management staff in order to prevent incidents like this to happen.

I am a single mother with limited funds and no health insurance. I go to a pain management doctor for my fibromyalgia and chronic pain. When I had insurance, I was prescribed ** so I never had to worry about paying for my meds out of pocket until now. When I found out what it would cost me to get the ** filled (which was $580), I called my doctor and he prescribed generic ** in 10 mg. I called around the pharmacies in town and no one had it. So I decided to go to the CVS I've been going to for 3 years and asked if they would order it for me. Also, after comparing prices and signing up for a prescription discount card, going to CVS was more cost effective for me.
I was told by the technician that ordering the meds would not be a problem. She also said that it would be several days before my order came in, which I was okay with. 20 mins later, I received a phone call from the pharmacist. She told me that she ran my name in their system and it showed that I was no longer on Medicaid. I explained to her my situation and told her that I was paying for my meds out of pocket. She then stated that they had the brand name ** and that she would be able to fill my prescription. Again, I explained to her that I could not afford the brand name meds because I was paying out of pocket. Again, I explained to her that my doctor gave me a prescription for the generic version because it was more cost effective for me since I was paying out of pocket. She then proceeds to tell me that she cannot order the meds for me. I asked her why and her response was that she "didn't feel comfortable".
I asked her didn't she feel comfortable ordering my meds, and her response was "I don't feel comfortable". I asked her to please call my doctor and talk to him regarding her not being comfortable feeling my meds. She flat out refused. I kept asking her what her reason was and she refused to give me one. All she kept saying that was that she felt uncomfortable. She was insensitive and her lack of compassion was appalling. As a customer, I should have been given an explanation as to why she "felt uncomfortable". The fact that she felt this way is not a reason to refuse someone their medication. It's a cop out.
I called the CVS complaint line and was told that basically she was within her right to refuse ordering my medication. The woman stated that because the generic version of ** is not crush resistant, some people abuse them. I was livid. I told her that I understood that there are people who abuse prescription medicine. However, I have been a patient at the pain management clinic for 3 years. I've never abused prescription drugs nor have I ever shopped around for other doctors or filled my prescriptions at other pharmacies unless CVS did not have the meds I needed. And even then, I would tell my doctor that I used another pharmacy because I am under contract with them. I am not allowed to see another pain management doctor and I am not allowed to get controlled substances prescribed to me by another doctor.
I do what is expected of me as a patient and a consumer. I understand that the pharmacist was not going to compromise her integrity. However, not feeling comfortable to order a medication that was prescribed to me by my doctor is not an excuse nor a good reason. As a customer, I am entitled to know what made her feel uncomfortable for not ordering my medication. As a customer, I am entitled to be talked to with compassion and sensitivity and not be made to feel as if I was doing something wrong. She didn't even bother to offer me an alternative to the medication I was prescribed and she couldn't be bothered with calling my doctor and ask him why he prescribed the medication he did. She was like a broken record, repeating " I don't feel comfortable" whenever I asked her why.
I refuse to ever go to CVS again. They have proven to me time and again that they do not care about their customers. I've had issues with this particular pharmacist filling my prescriptions in the past. I had surgery on my hand towards the end of last month and was prescribed ** by the surgeon for pain. She refused to fill the prescription because my pain management doctor prescribes ** every month, enough to last me 30 days. Both doctor and surgeon worked together and knew what I was being prescribed and by whom. But she took it up herself to refuse to fill it, even after my daughter explained to her that I had surgery that day. Eventually, she called the surgeon and he told her to fill the prescription.
Now, she just flat out refused to order my medicine but also refused to talk to my doctor. I was able to fill my prescription somewhere else. However, I had to pay almost $200 as oppose to paying $130-$140 if I got it from CVS. To me, this doesn't seem right. I am also going to write CVS headquarters but I know that they won't do anything about it because I was told by the lady at the complaint center that CVS will not override the decision made by the pharmacist. Regardless, I want them to know what kind of pharmacists are working for them and that "not feeling comfortable" is not a good reason for denying someone their medication.

So this woman told me to get another one and I did, I came to the register and she asked me for my credit card? I was like, "No, I'd like to exchange it, for this shade." She went on to give me a speech about how CVS has always given credit card returns back on the card, and that I needed to pay again. So I essentially had to pay for this thing twice. You cannot exchange in other words. I have literally never heard this in my life. I can't do an even exchange? She was so rude about it too.
I understand if it might be your policy (which I'm pretty sure is not), but explain it to me like a human being. I am your customer after all. I arrived at the drive thru to pick my prescription up at 2:56. I began to drive down the road and realized I did not count my prescription and at that time I pulled off and began counting. My prescription was for 30 strips for 30 days, I only had 22. I immediately called the pharmacy at 3:04 and the pharmacist told me to come back. When I arrived I was greeted with glares and rude attitudes. I did not magically make 8 strips of my medication disappear and I am appalled at CVS for blaming their mistake on me.
I have called the district manager and corporate and have an investigation hopefully started into this matter. That pharmacist was very rude as were the pharmacy techs and I am outraged. 8 strips of my prescription are missing! On 9/13/13 I phoned in a prescription to be refilled at the CVS on Upper Riverdale Road in Riverdale, GA but then spoke to someone to inform her that I wanted to pick up my prescription at the CVS around my home in Mt. Zion in Jonesboro, GA and she told me that I would have to call that store so that's what I did and the man said he would try to cancel that prescription at that store and call me back - I'm still waiting on that call! Here it is Sunday, 9/15/13, and I called to find out what happened. Carly said she spoke to someone at the Upper Riverdale CVS and they said I have no refills and the prescription was picked up - I said, "By who?" Because it wasn't me.

It seems as if CVS policy department has their head where the sun doesn't shine. Took my prescription in to be filled a day and a half before it was due. I was not asking for it to be filled early, simply dropping it off so it could be completed on the day it was due. CVS has a NEW policy that they can no longer hold an ** prescription overnight for fear that they might lose it. My prescription is a worker's compensation case so the ** prescription must be approved before it can be filled. It is not very often that the pharmacy can get an approval (at least with AIG ,my worker's comp carrier) within 24 hours. Now if they can not keep the hard copy of the prescription overnight because they may lose it, how do they,1) get the approval and 2) get it filled in time so the patient does not run out of this very highly addictive medication and then go into withdrawal while CVS ** around.
This pharmacy does not care about patients at all , and whoever makes their policies has the head up their **. Then there is always the possibility that they won't have the medication and they will have to order it which could take up 4 or 5 days to get and meanwhile, guess who gets screwed again. That's right, ME. I have given CVS 10 years of business and thousands of dollars but they couldn't give a damn. I hope that someday the people that work in their customer service department get hurt and have to be on some sort of pain medication so they can feel the frustration of trying to fill a prescription for themselves!

trying to work out the correct filling of the prescription and price charged (close to $800). I even ASKED if I needed to recount right in front of them and they assured me all was okay...only to go home and find out that they shorted me 70 pills. SEVENTY. Seven-Zero. Ridiculous.
The people they hire at this location need to retrained and written up or fired as there is NO Quality Control going on whatsoever and they are dealing with meds and narcotics. Where is the boundary of training? No one caught their errors but me. I had to call each time and inform them and explain how I could prove that they screwed up again. Never mind the fact that I am very ill and don't need the added stress of telling someone else in this type of profession how they should be doing their job. I want a formal complaint filed and to know that some form of reprimand or re-training will happen. This was too many mistakes over and over on the same prescription over the course of 4 days and multiple phone calls and zero communication.
Where is the double- and triple-checking of each other when dealing with drug dispensing? They may as well hire kids off the street with no education. Seriously, do they do an inventory check against sales?! They shorted me over $500 of meds. That is no small matter. Oh -- and they confirmed their error -- BUT only after I demonstrated it to them.

CVS's pharmacy is the worst. Apparently even the employees aren't happy because when Longs changed to CVS, everyone left. Every time I go in, there is a different person. The old pharmacists were very nice and I've left them good reviews. I have been on the same medication for over 5 years. Each month, I have to call them a week prior for them to order this for me. If I am a regular customer- shouldn't they have a record of this? It's ridiculous. My doctor has told me that he has tried to steer his customers away from CVS - even to go to Safeway or better yet, mom and pop stores as they order their drugs from more than just one warehouse. I was always able to fill my medication within a four-day grace period between the last month of the prescription. Even if my doctor writes "O.K. for early refill" they do not honor his request! They demand to speak to someone from his office. He is only available 3 days a week as he is doing surgery for the other days so therefore there is no way that they can speak to him. The 24-hour CVS in Sunnyvale is the absolute worst.

I purchased two products and decided to return both unopened with original receipt and credit card. Problem, the receipt printed showed 4 digits that did not match my credit card. My guess is it's partially my fault that I used their machine to scan my credit card rather than use the slider and I didn't check my receipt to make sure the last 4 digits on the receipt matched my credit card used. I told them I only had one credit card with this company and decided to keep the product and do some research. While in the parking lot, log onto my credit card account online and confirm the transaction showed up and was charged to my account. I walk back in to the same cashier, showed her my account and transaction matching my receipt for the same day as the receipt. She calls a manager. This time a different manager comes up.
She says, "Okay, let me take a look at the camera." 10+ minutes later, she comes out and says she saw I purchased the product, swiped my card and signed for it, but I must have used my husband's credit card and they cannot refund my purchase without the card. I told her I did not use my husband's card, but my card which I pulled up online showing the transaction. I then asked, "If I bring my husband's card and it doesn't match, then what will they do?" She says I have to call my credit card company and ask them why my card is ringing up with the last 4 digits different and have to deal with them. No apologies or anything.
So, I'm going back to the store to see what they are going to do. If they don't refund my credit card used, I will ask for cash. I refuse to take store credit for something I have a receipt for. Customers, beware of using credit unless it's a bottle of water you won't be attempting to return. I will spend the extra 5 minutes it takes me to drive to Target for the same needs.

I picked up the prescriptions - which I PAY CASH for do the INSURANCE COMPANY has NO SAY! - and found that the pharmacist had substituted my pain meds for something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! ** - which I was completely allergic to!!!!! I spent the evening not only in PAIN, BUT ITCHY!!!!! When I called the pharmacy to inquire as to WHY they had substituted my medications, the pharmacist who completely ACTED SUPERIOR informed me that she had the authority to substitute any medication... I found that funny as she is NOT MY PHYSICIAN NOR A PHYSICIAN for that matter at all!!!!!! I asked Pharmacist ** if she had checked with my doctor, and of course SHE HAD NOT! Since when did the freaking pharmacist become GOD or know better that a patient's doctor!

Pharmacy took it upon themselves to sub. a new generic. This generic is of poor quality. It does not work. It might as well be an aspirin. I have been on ** for a long time, and until now no complaints. This generic marked A116 is no good. I called the Hanover Pharm. and explained this product is not working. I was pretty much told too bad, deal with it. They won't make it right. I have used CVS for a lot of years. I will no longer. It is not okay to substitute an inferior product, and not make it right. I have a lot of sleep issues, and will be a whole 30 days with no sleep, because of their lack of caring and quality. I have a good mind to contact a lawyer. No pharmacy has the right to give out crap generics pills.

Refusal to fill son's prescription; pharmacist flagged the RX as "problem," when RX is filled each month. Extreme psychological results if RX not filled and taken regularly. Original RX order by doctor provided in advance. Message on phone multiple times that RX ready for pickup. Stop by the store and told RX not ready multiple times. When calling the store, told by pharmacist of "problem," need to talk to doctor, said doctor not responding. Gave pharmacist the hospital page operator number to page doctor. Pharmacist said she could not call.
We called the page operator, doctor spoke to us explaining she had not received messages from the pharmacy - was alarmed. Doctor called the pharmacy immediately and was accused of not being my son's doctor (being fake). Doctor was alarmed at this extreme unprofessional behavior of pharmacist. We called pharmacy for RX - was told we could pick up. Once there, the pharmacist said she could not completely fill the RX - only could provide 1/3 of one of the RX orders, and asked us to go somewhere else for the other. This has been our regular pharmacy for several years - could not fathom this treatment and behavior. Spoke to manager and assistant manager - no luck - was told the pharmacy manager would call - no call. No apologies.
Mistreatment, discrimination of patient rights based on medication type, unbelievable arrogance, no understanding of patient/client relationship. I assisted my son through this fiasco; however, what if he didn't have me to assist? His doctor was livid on the phone with the pharmacist, alarmed, telling her precisely that my son could have serious harm due to this treatment. I have no understanding at all for this behavior - what happens if you have no one to assist with your request for, simply, the medication your doctor has approved and prescribed???? CVS, you have lost this customer, and I hope many, many customers as your code of ethics ranks in realm of abuse.

It is evidently common with CVS from what I am reading online. Filled daughter's prescription last evening for ** - yes "controlled" substance. She counted the pills this morning and we're short two tablets. We called the pharmacy and of course, heard the same that other customers have heard/written about, "...we did a count and we are not over in our inventory...". So, of course, once they make that statement, they put the blame on us as customers and try to explain that they can't give us the two pills due to their classification as a controlled substance. (Again - blaming the convenient scapegoat of Insurance Co.'s) B.S. How convenient for CVS.
Someone at CVS Miller Place NY is either: A. a thief B. Stupid C. Both. What a great scam! (They place a red stamp on the receipt "Double Counted" and expect that to be indemnifying? I stamped my email to them, "Triple Counted" - so I must win the argument, right?). No one at fault except the customer - who has been screwed. I will keep this board updated as to my progress with this... I have a call into the district manager. I will NOT let this go - If anyone else has had this same experience with CVS - we should take legal action - after we post our issues with every social media outlet known to man!

I left my medication for my Parkinson’s Disease in NC while on vacation. I have always filled prescriptions on day 25 as my insurance and doctor are okay with that but one particular store refuses to fill it as they say it's too early even though 3 other stores will fill it now. So I tried to transfer it out and wow, they won't do it now because they have put it on a hold. So now, I get to go four days of pain because some pharmacist feels they know what's best above my doctor, their words not mine.

Please be aware of the CVS pharmacy/self-pay disasters on CVS on **, Sunny Isles Beach. I was accused of stealing a green smoothie and was chased out to my car because the self-pay machine wasn't working properly. Store employee (Darwin) was extremely rude and automatically assumed that I stole the green smoothie. I showed him my receipt, and since he couldn't read, he said it had the wrong date. I had to show him again and read the receipt with him. The worst part was that he didn't even apologize and showed no sympathy, and he could care less that the whole situation made me late for work.
CVS needs to be a little more careful with the kind of personnel they hire, or at least hire employees who can read. They also push the self-pay machines early in the morning, when there is no traffic?! Whatever happened to customer service? I refuse to have to be made to use a machine when there are two humans on the clock who can assist you with your transaction. It's absurd.

I have never posted a negative review about any company before because no company has ever been as grossly incompetent as CVS Caremark. I am both a patient and a physician and I am absolutely taken aback by the flaws in getting prescriptions filled by CVS Caremark. There are untimely delays that cause important prescriptions to not be filled. The customer service representatives are very often incompetent; often, I will call back several times in one day getting completely contradictory information from separate representatives.
I am required to spend excessive amounts of time on the phone to get anything done. This is truly upsetting. They lose prescriptions, cancel orders, forget to auto-refill, change credit cards, overcharge, etc. I am a physician having these difficulties getting my own prescriptions filled. I cannot imagine how the elderly, less educated, less motivated, less computer-savvy, or persons with other difficulties can even begin to manage the monstrous system. I am truly appalled and will both try to change my pharmacy and discourage patients from joining the pharmacy service.

I have chronic pain from arthritis of the spine. My doctor has prescribed ** to help with this as the situation is inoperable. Every 2 weeks, my prescription has to be renewed. I request this online through CVS and the doctor's office always promptly faxes a new prescription. CVS on many occasions has said that they have not received the renewal from the doctor's office. I checked with the doctor and they assured me that it was faxed over to CVS and usually resend the renewal for me to be sure that the pharmacy got it. This has happened so many times that I'm considering transferring my prescriptions to another pharmacy.
The renewals always fall on Sunday, so I make sure everything is in by Thursday so I can be sure everything is in place by Sunday, when the doctor's office is closed and I can't contact anyone until Monday. One of the people who works at the pharmacy also works at my doctor's office. When I went to the doctor to explain that CVS says they haven't heard from the doctor yet... many times she tells me that she saw the fax for the renewal come over at CVS when she was working. I am going without the pain medication this Sunday once again due to another screw up at CVS, and I'm totally fed up with this situation!

The last time, ** (manager) said that they couldn't find it. Then I looked and found it in the garbage. Then I had another incident with another manager, **, in which they couldn't find my Father's Day photo book!!! I ordered a calendar in which is missing the picture in JULY!! Now I am having my last TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE with **, a THIRD MANAGER, in which they couldn't find my photo book once again... Then, I find it SPREAD OUT ON THE COUNTER!!! I have had enough!! The managers are helpful but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Everyone in the photo lab should be terminated. It is unfair that customers have to go through such trouble to get what they PAID for!! Now I will see when I can get my book?????!!!

I went to pick up my prescriptions at CVS and as every time else, the prices were increased. I keep asking why they keep going up on their prices and they said that the insurance company can tell them what to charge when they want to. So I called the district manager, Steven **, and because he works for CVS, he ran around in circles trying to get me to understand it's all the insurance company's fault. With no help from him, I decided to go this route and see what can be done about this.
