I visited the JCPenney store on December 22, 2025, during my lunch break to purchase a Ninja Pro Plus blender. When I reached the register, the cashier, Kayla, informed me that my total was $236.40. I advised her that the price was incorrect, as the item was marked with a sale sign indicating a lower price. Kayla’s demeanor during this interaction was disrespectful, rude, and dismissive. She did not listen to my concerns and spoke in a loud and unprofessional manner. She contacted the manager, Patty, who went to verify the sale sign. Patty acknowledged that there had been a store error and informed me that she would honor the correct price of $170.00.
When we returned to the register, Kayla stated loudly that the blender was originally $340 and insisted that it should not be sold for that price. She then contacted additional management. She attempted to reach the store manager, Scott, who did not come to the register, and then contacted Yolanda. Yolanda stated that she would not honor the sale price without further review. I repeatedly explained that the item was clearly marked with a sale sign in the store, but she refused to listen or investigate further. With a long line of customers behind me, I felt embarrassed and judged as the situation was handled loudly and publicly at the register. Feeling uncomfortable and pressured, I completed the purchase for $236.49 and returned to work.
Later that day, I checked the JCPenney website and discovered that the exact same blender was on sale online for $159.00, totaling approximately $170.00 with tax. I placed an online order for curbside pickup. When the item was brought to my car, it was the exact same blender I had purchased earlier in-store. I returned to the store and asked to speak with Yolanda again. I explained that the item was indeed on sale and that I had been correct from the beginning. I also shared how embarrassed and disrespected I felt by how the situation had been handled in front of other customers. Yolanda responded by stating that it was an online “doorbuster” sale and that online prices are different. I informed her that the item was not advertised as a doorbuster and that I am a frequent JCPenney shopper. She did not apologize or take accountability for the mistake or for how I was treated.
I would like to acknowledge Sherri, a cashier who was assisting other customers at the time, for being respectful and kind. I would also like to commend Patty for initially being helpful and professional. Unfortunately, my interactions with Kayla and Yolanda were extremely disappointing. Both were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. This experience left me feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and deeply disappointed in the level of customer service I received.

If I could give negative stars, I would. I ordered a ring on December 1st. It did not ship for over three weeks. When I called to ask about it, they said there was “paperwork” because it was such an expensive item. I thought, “okay, I guess that makes sense.” Then, when I finally got the shipping notice, it sat in the warehouse for 7 days before actually leaving. Again I called, and was told I could just ask for a refund. What? I bought the ring as a gift, I want the ring, and it’s now only a few days before Christmas. They guaranteed it would be there in Dec. 26. Come Dec. 26, the shipping notice now says it will be delivered in Dec. 30. Not sure I’ll ever get the ring. Never purchasing from JCPenney again and suggest you don’t either. Terrible customer service.

I ordered an item online and before I ordered it, I changed delivery to my new address. Item was delivered to previous address in another state. I contacted JCP and filed a dispute. Now I’m told to contact the local JCP, where I didn’t buy the item from, and I’ll be paying another $6 fee on top of the price of the order I never got. This isn’t what I expected from JCP. I will be shopping elsewhere.

I bought a queen mattress on sale Black Friday. They sent the wrong size to me. Now they won't sell it to at black Friday deals. I have to pay full price. Bye bye JCPenney. I won't be shopping there anymore.

I have been a customer of JCP since I can remember, and today I had the worst experience at the Cedar Hill location. I was returning some jeans that did not have the tag to scan, but I did have my receipt. The cashier's name was Valeria. She explained she couldn't return it because it did not have the tag (with an extremely snarky attitude). I then asked to speak to a manager to see what they could do; maybe I could exchange it for a different size. She calls for a manager on the radio, and the person on the radio says, "I don't think we can return it without the tag." Valeria's response was "Well, someone needs to come tell her." 👀 (outright unprofessional) Two managers came over to Luvio and Jennifer (Tag team) and looked at my daughter and said, "We can't return it." My daughter said, "It's not for me," and looked at me.
The "manager" Jennifer repeated herself, "We can't return it" to me without stating who she was, without asking what the problem was, etc. Clearly, she is a manager by tenure and not by experience. I explained that the clothing does have a bar code, and I'm sure they can pull it up. They both (Luvio and Jennifer) said, There is nothing we can do for you! My response was, "I guess you are all on the same page." Luvio responded, "We are" and walked away. I have never seen such unhappy people in my life. The attitude that was being given was definitely not necessary. I am the customer! I believe these employees forget who keeps them employed?!? Being polite and helpful will get us much farther and moving forward.
I will definitely not consider going to JCP for purchases and hope that anyone who receives this type of treatment does the same. Businesses close every single day, as paying customers will not tolerate this type of treatment. JCP will be next to close, just like all the others, if they keep forgetting who keeps the lights on. And then we ask why Amazon is taking over?!?... The short answer is because they don't treat their customers this way! Never again, JCP, never again will I spend another dollar at your stores!

I ordered pants online and was charged full price plus shipping. When I had to return the pants, JCPenney deducted 8.00 from the return amount for shipping. So wait I paid 45.00 for the pants and they only want to refund me 23.00. That's very bad customer service as far as I'm concerned. There is a reason why I am not able to get to the store. I'll think twice before I order from them again.

They now have foreign countries' reps as their customer service agents .. Can’t understand a word they say ..All to save a little money - And lots of customers including me .. Their prices are good on certain items.

Just had a very horrible experience with customer service at store number 0367 Warwick, Rhode Island as well as corporate customer service. Was treated very rudely when I asked why I had to let them play with my money. I went to pick up an order that I paid to have shipped there, and it was filled incorrectly. I asked to exchange it. Was told the only transaction could be a refund, which holds my funds for 7 to 10 business days and then to lay out more money today if you want your product that they filled incorrectly to begin with. Horrible customer service.

Very disappointed. Ordered a piece of jewelry. Never received it. Was told wait 5 days. then told wait one day of which I waited 2 days, then was told I will receive an email in 2 days and then a refund in 10 days. This is not acceptable. The mail tracking shows that it is stuck since Nov 25th and no movement. They know I did not get it. This is a Christmas gift. I need the credit back on my credit card so I can go somewhere else. I will never shop JCP again.

I recently purchased two pair of running tights which were not what I expected. I had initially thought I wanted them and removed the tags, but realized they didn't fit my needs. I returned them via UPS less than a week after purchasing with the original tags affixed to the correct items. To my shock, JCPenney mailed them back to me and refused to refund my money, stating they were used. I called customer service and the representative concurred I was out of luck. Maybe I'm a little late to the party, but I have never had any issues returning items to other retailers such as Amazon or Macy's. I have spent a lot of money over the years at JCPenney and will NEVER buy anything from then again. I'm also in awe of ridiculous amount spent on shipping these items back and forth. I recommend not purchasing your Christmas gifts from JCPenney, or anything else for that matter.

I visited the JCPenney hair salon located at Pacific View Mall 377 Mills Rd Ventura CA 93003 om Sunday, November 23, 2025. I wanted to get my four daughters' hair straightened because they have curly hair. The hair stylist said OK they can do it. I got there at around 11 am. On the JCPenney website, it states that it takes one hour to do that style and it would cost $65 for each girl. The experience was horrible, the hairstylist used all the wrong products and made their hair so tangled. The manager comes to me and says it will be $650 because their hair is so tangled. When I do their hair at home myself, using the right products, I am done in under 2 hours.
I told her I can't afford to pay that, I don't have that much money, and I never saw a detangling fee included in the prices on the website. She says, "Well, it's going to cost $650." I told her I don't have that money, so she says, "Well give me $450 then." I said the most I can pay is $300, but she kept saying she wants $450. I kept waiting and waiting for their hair to be done. Nothing was done all the way until 6:30 pm. One of my daughter's hair was barely straightened all the roots and edges and back of her hair was still curly when I looked at it. My other 3 daughters' hair was washed, and they were still trying to detangle 7 hours later and not straighten.
The manager keeps telling me she wants $450 and they didn't do their job. I told her the kids' hair is not done, I can't afford to pay $450, and their hair is not done, so she says, "Well, you need to pay for the stylist time." I ended up paying $208.00 for my girl's hair that wasn't done. I had to go home and rewash and detangle, blow-dry and straighten all their hair myself. My whole day was wasted, and we had other plans, my money wasted and a horrible first hair salon experience for my daughters. They cry all night and say they never want to go back to a hair salon again. Before I left, I ask all the stylist that was trying to do their hair have they ever done curly hair and black hair before. They told me no.
I am so upset all they had to tell me was "We can't do curly black hair, we don't have any experience in it," so I didn't have to go through this. I got no apology from the manager or stylist. It's clear all they wanted was the money. I would like an apology, and I would like my money back. This is unacceptable and JCPenney needs to remove ethnic hairstyles option from the website on JCPenney hair salon because you cannot do black curly hair. I will never visit another JCPenney hair salon or shop at JCPenney ever again. I would like this problem resolved and not to see this happen to another person. Thank You.

I placed on Nov 28th. I enter my home address along with my apartment number. I did what I had to do correctly. When I looked at my email letting me know about my shipping address. The apartment number was not showing. I have spoken to at least eight different people between JCPenney and UPS and not one person was able to assist me. I explained I will not be able to get my merchandise that I paid for unless my apartment number is added, I was basically told that there’s nothing they can do about it. That I will have to call UPS. Once I call UPS UPS say I have to call JCPenney to make a long story short. I suggest nobody order from JCPenney online. Is horrible. The customer service most likely I will not even receive my merchandise that I paid for. I will have to wait report it to my bank so that I can get a refund. I’m extremely disappointed with the service that I was provided by JCPenney.

We had a bad experience at JCPenney located inside the Sunset Galleria Mall in Las Vegas. NV. We bought a wreath for Christmas for which the cashier didn't have a large bag. Because we were Christmas shopping, we approached another cashier near the exit and asked for a large bag. This young ** cashier denied us a large plastic bag because, as he said, customers request a spare bag in order to come back later to steal something. The way he said and murmured to a cashier near to him, sounded that we were to be stealers at this store. That sounds a very poor and derogative answer to customers for which we believe a better answer merely should be "Sorry, we ran out of large bags at this time." Summarizing, we were treated as stealers and not welcome customers at this store..

Hello. I am so upset that 2 of my rewards $20.00 were considered expired when I had just viewed online I had it on account. The reward expired on 11\16\2025 and I called customer service and they said their expiration was at midnight 11\15\25. This does not make sense. Expiration should be after the complete day on the sixteenth. I have been a member of JC Penney since 1985 and spend plenty of money that they could given me that reward credit back. Spoke with several reps and no one would help. So I just want people to know if you have those certificates they really expire on the day before what is listed. Not good practice. Enjoy your day but don't count on spending your rewards.

Placed two online orders same day -- Both with problems from the onset --- Coupon / discounts published on same page were not given on final invoice on first one -- Phone call for assistance / lady said she would call and straighten out. When order arrived / 75% wrong size and no call or price adjustments upon arrival --- Second order second scam / free shipping didn't happen and won't issue credit - Beware of JCPenney's web advertisement/ special pricing scams and false free shipping. Most items were waded up and thrown in one bag including dresses, etc -- very poor quality and shipping prep --- Won't ever get the chance to scam me again online or in store -- See why they had to file for bankruptcy. ---

I always make a call to see my balance before to pay my bill is what l have been doing for lots of years. I made the last payment and 3 months after JCPenney wants to charge me $10 for $2.00 balance from $2.00 pending. Never l was notify until I buy again. I never was notify.

This review is about customer service at the portrait studio in Canton, Ohio. Right off the bat, one of the ladies behind the desk was very rude! Just basically brushed me to side and interrupted the employee that was helping me. I guess her own customer was more important. She could’ve asked nicely. The photographer at first, really did nothing at all with the 3 small children that were being photographed. Some other photographer came in and did a better job. My daughter and niece should not have been trying to get the kids to laugh or do anything.
There was a picture with a finger in it and basically was told, "Oh well and I have to purchase the 2-year plan even though I said no!" I was told, "Well, you’re going to anyway because it’s cheaper if you do." Ughh. I was so over it when I left and called corporate the next day, they referred me to the people who run the photography part of it. I was told, "Oh well, it’s non-refundable so I can just offer you a $25 credit, basically just a free sheet." So basically I paid for bad customer service, inexperienced photographer and a finger in a picture, and a 2-year plan I don’t want. I’m not going back and wasting my hard-earned money! JCP, you can do better!!

I see that people have already complaint about inconsistent Inventory. I experienced this. It was a waste of time which I had to take screen shots to show at the counter for price display. What is written and shown is one thing and once you go to the counter it is completely different. With some feeble excuse that it was yesterday's price. I had to put half the things back. Please this is not the JC Penney before.

I ordered an engagement ring so my girlfriend and I could get engaged. It was on a JCPenney credit card that they issued. Two weeks later when the ring was to be delivered within the next 4 days, JCPenney canceled the order due to a discrepancy with the card that they sent us. This has hampered all of our plans that we had. I don't think that JCPenney really cares!

Imagine my horror when I checked out through PayPal to see that my order was going to my old address. I quickly followed protocol and went to cancel, but my order on JCPenney's website didn’t exist. We called first thing in the morning and they said they’d cancel it, but they didn’t. We called back and they verified that they indeed have our correct address, but refused to ship it there.
They did not cancel it. My order was shipped across the country. They emailed me and said, “You need to provide us with the correct address,” while they acknowledged that they had it. PayPal refused to refund the order, despite their error. And I’m still looking on JCPenney’s website and still don’t have any recent orders. Thank you, JCPenney for stealing from my children during Christmas time.

I can't believe how low JC Penney has fallen! We are in the middle of a the biggest runaround nightmare just trying to return a mattress. They are making it literally impossible. Trying to run us past the return deadline. I've called all the dadgum numbers they give with the order number and return number and invoice number and everything else they've given and they send me from one place (location not department) to another.
They finally sent a notice they are picking the bed up tomorrow without giving us a choice, meanwhile we work! No one can be here and they offer no choices. So I call and call and call and get sent from place to place speaking to people from other countries I can't understand and they all say they don't have these numbers! They are atrocious! Meanwhile, we not only paid for the bed, they made us pay an additional "Truck fee" plus "restocking fee" WITHOUT Refunding a SINGLE PENNY of the mattress and are making it virtually IMPOSSIBLE to return. JC Penney is a schlock store and they are now engaging in THIEVERY. I will NEVER purchase anything from Penney's again! Not ever.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience using the JCPenney credit card. My family and I purchased gold jewelry under a promotion that clearly stated “no interest if paid in full within the promotional period.” However, despite making timely payments every month, we were continuously charged interest. When we contacted customer service for clarification, the representatives gave vague explanations and were unable to resolve the issue. Each time, we were told something different, and no one took responsibility for correcting the charges.
It feels unfair and misleading to advertise a no-interest offer and then add hidden interest charges every month. We trusted JCPenney as a reputable company, but this experience has been frustrating and disappointing. We have always paid our bills on time and kept our account in good standing, so this situation makes us feel deceived. I strongly recommend that anyone considering a JCPenney credit card read the fine print carefully and monitor their statements closely. What seems like a good deal may turn into an unnecessary financial headache. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the JCPenney credit card to anyone.

When I order from JCP, the bags the clothes come in are filthy - many times looking like they were run over with a truck or stomped on. I ordered pillows once and returned them because the packaging was torn and the bags and plastic on the pillows was so dirty. These normally come thru UPS and I never receive dirty packages unless it's thru JCP. There is no excuse. Here's a photo of today's packaging I received:

Hello. So I ordered a few things from JCPenney. I looked over my order before I pushed it through. My address was correct. When I looked in my email they had a whole different address to Lansing MI but I stay in Texas. I called customer service which was very rude for them to tell me there is nothing they can do about it once I placed the order. The address they have Is NOT on my profile nor did I put that but somehow it’s my problem because I placed it online. Nobody can tell me where the address came from if it’s not on my profile. I’ll never shop here AGAIN.

Should be zero stars. Very poor on line ordering experience, customer disservice agents give conflicting info on ship to store status. Claim item already delivered to selected store & store claims item still in transit, minimum 2 week ship time. Am given a negative attitude from both on-line & store. On-line agents state once ship to store option is selected any order problems become full responsibility of store & do not contact customer service. Store mgmt. states on-line always misinforms customers on product status. Am doubting will receive item ordered as no one knows where item is, tracking info is non-existent, & no one cares if customer gets merchandise. JCPenney has become a disreputable company with very questionable business practices.

I've had two bad incidents with this company. First said they delivered an order that wasn't sent. Put my money back on my card. Know I ordered Jockey under wear. I was sent briefs. I will no longer do business with this company.

My husband and I make 6 figures and own our house. We have had a JCPenney card for years. My credit limit was $2500 of which I have $200 on the card right now. I just spent two hours shopping and stood in line for 1/2 an hour for the cashier to tell me my card was not accepted. Got on the phone in the store to find out that Jc penny lowered my credit limit from $2500 to $250 and my purchase was $170 so, not enough credit! I have never been late on a payments for this acct and I never use more than $500 before paying it off. Not only was it embarrassing but I spent hours in the store! I was never notified! Obviously they don’t want my business! I will be paying off the small amount still owed on this card and will NOT shop with JCPenny anymore. What a slap in the face for a good customer service!!
