I've been a loyal customer and several times over I've had a highly negative experience with the manager at the store located on New 5 between Lebanon and Camdenton! Her name is Marie and she is always hateful to me and the customer before me as well for no reason. She has a terrible attitude towards paying customers. I've also heard her talk about a customer after they walked out before cashing the next customer out. She is not meant for customer service if she is going to give poor customer service towards paying customers, talk about paying customers in a hateful way, or not care to do her job or be there. That store has great workers 2 other ladies are always nice, keeps a conversation while the cashing out processes is taking place and always remembers their customers enough for us to feel welcome and want to come back.

I know some people are paying for their merchandise with correct change which include with pennies, but when I have paid and am due change the amount I am given is less than what I am due. Do your stores not have any pennies? This is ridiculous. I am not complaining about not receiving one or two pennies, but it is wrong to assume the customer is okay about not receiving their correct change. This seems like taking advantage of the situation. Do better!

The folks who work there are fine. It's just a REAL HEADACHE when you have 2 Registers. And only 1 ever open, with 15 people standing in line!!! It causes HOSTILITIES in line. If I get into a FIGHT, WHILE IN LINE, I will sue D.G.... There are NO EXCUSES for NOT HAVING ENOUGH PEOPLE to open the other register!!!! The prices on things, aren't the same as what I'm charged on a lot of things!!! You're just trying to screw people!!!! It's a great store... But it's run like shit because of D.G. Not, the employees??

The Dollar General in Springtown, Texas off 199 is very horrible on customer service and won’t exchange cigarettes right there at the counter that you haven’t even paid for yet. The staff is trash and lazy. They won’t even pick up the phone when you call.

While at the Dollar General store #12885, 710 Holmes St. In Frankfort, KY, I was refused a sale of items they had discounted on the sales floor by the manager. I have the receipt as proof that she voided all of my items. When contacting corporate I was told the district manager who call back in 24 hours. That's not a solution, that gives the store ample time to right their wrong.

Today Dollar General posted sign that stated Comfort Bay hand towels and wash cloths buy 1 and get one half price. Small print stated excludes wash cloths.. Manager was notified and could explain the sale. Very poor advertising.

I purchased $120 worth of GameStop/Domino gift cards and when I tried to use them they were invalid. I called customer service, talked to their manager and district manager and no one helped me and said they pointed fingers to their 3rd party gift card vendor. Then I called the 3rd party and said I have to call gamestop. Then I called gamestop and they said nothing they can do. In the end this company stole my $120. This is a shady company, stay away.

Today, 4/25/26 my $5 off $25 didn't work or my 3 for $10 coupon. When cashier tried to fix it, the computer doubled the amount I suppose to pay.

Dollar General is a joke. If they will not return something without a receipt then they need to make sure they give you a receipt before you walk out the freaking door. Went to return a bar soap to get a different kind because I got the scented kind instead of unscented and they wouldn’t freaking return it because I didn’t have a receipt, but they never asked or given me a receipt when I bought it. Will not ever be shopping there ever again.

Wasted 40 minutes of my life. Dollar General can't make it more clear that they don't want my business ever again. 😡

Wonderful service. Wish they would have pharmacy so we would not have to go to Walmart.

I had a coupon for dog food and the “manager.” Did Not honor it!! No more DG. Very rude manager!

If could give the Dollar General on East 26th Street in Erie Pennsylvania a zero I would. Believe its staff needs serious training.

I was looking what to buy at the store and then I lost my wallet so the worker kicked me out. Don't go to Dollar General!

I went in to buy a lighter and was asked for an ID which I found unusual as I am a 66 year old man but I complied and show him it then he said he need to scan it, which I don't understand why, it was just a lighter. I then asked for a manager and she confirmed that they need to scan it. I asked what their policy was to protect my information. Was advise that they didn't have one. so I left and went down the street to menards and purchase the same lighter. No ID required for 40 cents less. Where has the world gone to when you need to have an id to purchase a lighter. But not to vote. You have to love where america is going. P.S I will never go back to Dollar General.

So here goes.... This is crazy but true. It happened to me today! Yesterday I was looking on the DG app and seen some things I wanted, and it popped up that I could get free delivery. I have a leg injury so this would be convenient, so I placed my order. Today I received a message that my order was being picked up, and delivered shortly. I waited and nothing, no call, no message. About an hour later I received an email that my order had been canceled! I called DG (Mead OK) and the woman was extremely rude, and said numerous times that they know nothing about the delivery orders, that it's all handled through Doordash.

Dollar General hires the best of the best. Teenagers that can't count and a manager that looks like a ganator telling customers to shut up and calls women the B word! I did post his picture on Facebook and advised that people shouldn't shop at Dollar General!! Has anyone notice that just like liquor stores there are a Dollar Generals on every corner. I will not shop at any trash hole Dollar General again.

Overly complicated discount/coupon system. I never received the "cash back" promotion on specific items in my online wallet and multiple times my coupons (issued by their own system) have been rejected for no logical reason. The whole experience has become complicated and inconvenient trying to save a few bucks. I will delete the app and stick to shopping at my local Harps.

Winnebago, MN, store hires the most low-level people that have no customer service experience or just plain dumb. No standing of professionalism or maturity with customers service. The store lately has nothing but what some would say crack heads working or working to buy their crack. Clear English speaking seems to be a problem, and they are not foreign. I find this store to be gross and disgusting. The bum who was working can't speak clearly enough to make sense. Downhill from when I first used this store.

Got cut in front of by another customer during checkout and then the employee chose to call us liars instead of making the other customer wait her turn. Very disrespectful, horrible customer service. Can't believe employees stand by and let other citizens do the wrong and disrespectful thing and get away with it all because they can’t seem to pay attention and do their job correctly.

Bought a roasting PAN with a tray in the bottom of it so that whatever you're roasting doesn't have to sit in the grease. I've used it one time. The tray in the bottom of the pan broke at the weld. Took it back to my local Dollar General. Was told I have to have the packaging that it was in in order for it to be scanned, or there was nothing they could do about it. Who keeps the packaging when they open something to use it. I shop at Dollar General a lot. But if they cannot stand behind their product, why should I continue shopping there. This is pathetic, used it one time.

One staff behavior. I'm not be go back to that store no more.

This company demonstrates a lack of integrity in their pricing practices and fails to provide an adequate work-life balance for their employees. Additionally, they show insufficient understanding of safety protocols, such as assigning a single employee to manage a large store independently. This approach often results in employees being dismissed after confrontations with customers or similar incidents, with little support or reliability from the management.

I bought the Toastmaster single electric burner and it is 100% junk. Do not buy this product!

After contacting Dollar General corporate, they heard my concerns about their cashier's horrible behavior. Apparently, several other people complained about her too, and she even attacked someone with security footage catching her in the act. She was promptly fired, and I say good riddance! As such, my concern has been settled. Aside from that one negative experience which was appropriately addressed, I generally have a great experience with Dollar General.

Recently I have went into Dollar General and I have been Spoken to every time, My Wife and I were both shocked but very pleased. Teresa has a very welcoming voice. Also she has Amazing Customer service. Keep up the good Work! Happy to see someone with a good personality and hospitality.

Poor management from the local level all the way to the corporate. Worst business practices ever that don’t exemplify customer service. Especially the Firebaugh, CA location, can’t wait til they shut down.

The DG in Henrietta TN is a dangerous place for the elderly or disabled to shop. Displays block isleways. On stock day there are carts blocking isleways. There's no room for a wheelchair to shop there. As far as items in stock, that's a crap shoot.. Might have an item one day, and not have it again for months, or even never. Convenience is the only reason I shop at DG.

Very kind staff with out of order restrooms for 2 plus years. I live in Bennington and have 3 DGs to choose from. I'm 50+ and I pee frequently. How hard is it to get the bathrooms going again? Is it laziness of employees or company policy. There are similar issues in Manchester where there is a homeless issue but that shouldn't be the problem in Hillsboro NH.

I came here with my mom I asked a worker if they had dumplings. "NO WE do Not" in a disrespectful voice. Never asking her again. 2 stars. Hopefully nobody will come here ever again especially me. Never again.

Can't quite understand why the Dollar General store in Lester Prairie isn't maintained better providing a better experience for it's customers. With the last two snowballs, the parking lot hasn't been plowed. When using checkout #1, the card reader doesn't work properly. Then, the big store sign hasn't been lit up. Who is actually responsible for maintenance of these properties?

Was at the Atlantic Beach store and a man I guess was the dimensions, Danny was his name, was the biggest idiot, yelling at co workers in front of customers, Dollar General must be desperate for workers, he wouldn't be an employee of mine....

Great store and employees. ** At the store is great manager and her public relations exceed far beyond, she takes pride in stocking and greeting every customer, she is the difference between a bad store and good one. This is the store on HWY 281 North.

I went to the dollar general in Decatur Il on East Eldorado at 2:30 pm and the lady working there said they were closed. I thought they closed at 8pm. When I asked her when would they open back up she said after they got the items off the floor.

You recently remodeled your store in Riverside iowa. I was in that store today & I'm not impressed. I couldn't get to the frozen food section because there were 3 people stocking. They never offered to move out of my way. I asked them about an item, & they responded by saying we are out of that item & we don't know when we will get anymore in. (VERY RUDELY) In my opinion, you wasted a lot of money to make the place worse than it already was. Perhaps you should have spent your money to pay better wages and hire better help. Needless to say I didn't buy anything. I exited the store & drove 20 miles out of my way to shop at Wal-Mart & had a pleasant experience there. And I will NEVER darken the doorstep of Dollar General again. Your customer service SUCKS!!!! Sincerely, Margaret

Deland, Florida. Store #13220. Store Manager, Tanya. Store items are always placed in different spots and I continue to be overcharged. This happens too often! It seems like too often the items hanging where the label tags are named and price differently that's what's there. I don't say anything half the time but come ooon! The new manager is NOT friendly and doesn't really care by her actions, even today. ONE item was overpriced by $6. When mentioned, the manager was annoyed. I watched her walk away from a customer that trying to communicate with her! He was left standing there with issue unresolved. This is sooo sad! I HAVE to go elsewhere now. Where did the humanity and customer service go.

Customer service was amazing. Store was clean and the cashier Esther was awesome, so nice and helpful. Will be returning back to this store very soon. She was patient with my questions and was overall a great person.

I live in Carbondale Illinois. It has 3 Dollar General stores. I have chose to not go back to a dg forever at this point... Every dollar store I go to all the "employees" are never at the register. I have to physically walk around the store to find a "employee" to check me out. It's very frustrating and time consuming where I don't always have time for this crap... I made a suggestion to management to maybe put a bell or squeaky toy or something to alert these " employees" that people are waiting in a line... They told me it's " corporate rules" against having a way to alert someone that people are ready. That is ridiculous and until something is changed I won't go back. I know you don't care about one person because you don't need my money... But this is a huge issue to me and the people always in line because they are afraid that when someone goes to find your people lose their place in line as well.

We were recently in DG on Hwy 469 in Florence, MS and we are under a boil water notice. We had visited the restrooms and you can’t wash your hands due to the nasty water. We brought it to the attention of the cashier that they should put sanitizer in there due to not being able to wash your hands because of the dirty water. She said she wasn’t authorized to store use hand sanitizer. Isn’t that a health sanitary issue? When we got to the checkout we were then told that they didn’t have bags so we were told that they couldn’t do nothing about it. We had to load all our items in our vehicle without bags. What kind of store are we running? You should accommodate to the paying customer. The store is closed a lot of days as it is. The attitudes from the employees needs to be addressed from how they respond to customers. We have been regulars there. We have seen workers come and go there. We need to see change there.

Would like to comment on store # 21859 employee **. She greeted me as I came in, even though she was stocking product; she directed me to the product I was after and was very friendly. She also was the person dedicated to check customers out. Dollar General has found a gem in ** but doesn't deserve to work alone.
