My complaint isn’t about employees or store conditions. It is about the quality of product! I bought a 12’ America’s 250th Garland. No matter how I try to wrap the garland, the flags are upside down. This seems a bit disrespectful! I am a bit disappointed!

They have a shopper which lists digital coupons which don't match what products on their shelves. Example: Pepsi 12 pk was 3 for 12.00, they only had the 15 pk (3 free) of Pepsi and they would sell them under the sale price. If they advertise the 12 packs they should buy them to sell them. Not just to get people in the door with deceptive ads. Then they have stare tags on the products advertising what products are on sale included for this price. When you get to the register one item on the list had not been put in to ring up as the sale price. If people aren't watching their costs they will pay full price for that one product which was double the amount it was supposed to be.

15 people in line and 2 employees. 1 is watching the other one run the cash register instead of opening the other one. It is like that every day. After 4 in the evening it takes 30 minutes to get through the line.

I went to the Dollar General store on Lewiston Road in Greensboro NC on May 15. I got the items that I wanted to purchase. When I was checking out, I told the young man that the items were on sale. He went and got a young girl to come and check. She proceeded to tell me that I couldn't read and that I was stupid. She then told me to get the --- out if her store. I work will the public everyday and I do not talk to people that way. The young girl was **, skinny and had fake eye lashes on with a butterfly on them. I will NEVER go back to dollar general again. I told my family and friends to boycott dollar general.

The employer refused to let me enter at at 9:45 pm, even though they advertise they're open until 10 pm. I'm sure the employee wanted to go home early, but don't we all?

I went to the store once to reload visa card. I went to reload it. Was a reloadable. The girl was rude and really snotty and didn't know what she was doing and I left in tears because I never thought that people would be disrespectful. I'm a disabled person.

On Saturday May 9, 2026, at approximately 2:35pm, I had gone into the Dollar General located at 2761 W. 15th St., Plano, TX, 75075 to purchase items. I found 3 bottle cozies in the clearance bins. When I scanned them in my app the message came up "not sold in this store." When I went to the register to ring up my purchases, I asked the cashier to do a price check for them and they rang up more than $3. I told the cashier that I did not want the items. She told me to put them back where I got them. I explained that I was not going to do that and it is not my job to put them back. I also stated that I have a 4 yr old with me and she asked again, "Are you going to take and put them back, you can take her with you." It was at that time she handed them back to me and I threw them in the basket and asked her to ring up my items so I could leave. She again asked me, "Are you going to put them up?" I said, "No, I need you to ring up my items so I can leave."
I asked her name and she told me she was the assistant manager. I asked if there was a manager to talk to and stated again that she was the assistant manager. I asked her to ring up my items and she proceeded to move to the next register and called out, "The next customer in line I can ring up over here." I took my granddaughter out of the basket and asked her for her name again, she did not respond. I stated to her, "You are the assistant manager, what is your name because I am going to report you." She stated, "That works." I proceeded to call the number on the door to report her. All while she was continuing to ring up other customers.
While I was talking with Ross, the person taking my report, I looked up to give him a description of the assistant manager who was not wearing a badge and refused to give me her name. She looked at me and told me, "If you lose the attitude, I will ring up your items. She then began explaining to the customers in line that I had the attitude. This was the worst shopping experience in my life. My 4-yr old granddaughter said to me later that night, "That lady at the store stole our stuff because she did not "beep" my socks." How sad this is how "Assistant Managers" treat paying customers.

Holy shit don't buy the cheap bags. You will have a mental breakdown thinking it's you.....but it's not you....it really sometimes is just one sheet of plastic that looks like a kitchen trash bag.

I had an amazing experience at Dollar General. The customer service was amazing. Speed of Service was awesome. And I really enjoyed my experience. I'll definitely be back. Thanks a lot. Albany Georgia.

If I could give zero stars I would. I went into the Dollar General at 20 Mullanphy Court, Florissant, MO, and had the misfortune of encountering the absolute most ignorant manager, **, that I have ever engaged with. While my grandchildren and I were checking out, she stood in the aisle across from the registers (10 feet away) and began to berate, disparage, and embarrass two of her employees standing behind the counter by screaming at them across the store. Then the other ** young lady also checking customers out joined in and begin cussing and using profanity directed at the other two employees. The conversation was something related to the manager getting reprimanded for how a drawer was counted and she was given points or something to that effect.
After checking out, I said to **, "It would be best if you handled this after your customers are gone, versus yelling at your employees over the head of your customers.' I explained to her that it was embarrassing. Apparently, she took offense to this and began to make disparaging remarks and attempted to charge and attack me physically. The other young ** lady ran over to hold her back, and two customers stepped in to prevent her from advancing. This told me all I needed to know about ** as a person and as an employee. Not only does she create an unsafe and toxic work environment for her employees, but she also creates that same environment for customers when she doesn't like what they have to say. The next time, if there is no one to step in and protect your customer, ** may very well get Dollar General and herself sued for assault.
I'm quite sure that Dollar General doesn't want their image to be that of an unhinged and out-of-control manager who has zero control of herself or her emotions. She is not the kind of person I would want representing my company in any capacity, let alone as a part of management. I immediately called their headquarters and filed a formal complaint with customer service. I cannot wait for the area general manager to return my call.

I've been a loyal customer and several times over I've had a highly negative experience with the manager at the store located on New 5 between Lebanon and Camdenton! Her name is Marie and she is always hateful to me and the customer before me as well for no reason. She has a terrible attitude towards paying customers. I've also heard her talk about a customer after they walked out before cashing the next customer out. She is not meant for customer service if she is going to give poor customer service towards paying customers, talk about paying customers in a hateful way, or not care to do her job or be there. That store has great workers 2 other ladies are always nice, keeps a conversation while the cashing out processes is taking place and always remembers their customers enough for us to feel welcome and want to come back.
I adore the customer service from Natasha and Crystal, I've also had a good interaction with I believe his name is Bobby. He isn't there much but I came in and was having trouble finding an item and he was kind by asking if I needed help and showed me where the exact item I was looking for was! It gets hard in the store being so crowded and so many choices but that store has at least 3 nice and caring employees willing to do their job without being mad about it and knows the store like they built it, it truly impresses me! If I was corporate I'd get rid of the employees that don't care to do their jobs nonetheless put on a smile. If you get paid yo do your job, just do it and try to be nice, a kind person don't have to try though!

I know some people are paying for their merchandise with correct change which include with pennies, but when I have paid and am due change the amount I am given is less than what I am due. Do your stores not have any pennies? This is ridiculous. I am not complaining about not receiving one or two pennies, but it is wrong to assume the customer is okay about not receiving their correct change. This seems like taking advantage of the situation. Do better!

The folks who work there are fine. It's just a REAL HEADACHE when you have 2 Registers. And only 1 ever open, with 15 people standing in line!!! It causes HOSTILITIES in line. If I get into a FIGHT, WHILE IN LINE, I will sue D.G.... There are NO EXCUSES for NOT HAVING ENOUGH PEOPLE to open the other register!!!! The prices on things, aren't the same as what I'm charged on a lot of things!!! You're just trying to screw people!!!! It's a great store... But it's run like shit because of D.G. Not, the employees??

The Dollar General in Springtown, Texas off 199 is very horrible on customer service and won’t exchange cigarettes right there at the counter that you haven’t even paid for yet. The staff is trash and lazy. They won’t even pick up the phone when you call.

While at the Dollar General store #12885, 710 Holmes St. In Frankfort, KY, I was refused a sale of items they had discounted on the sales floor by the manager. I have the receipt as proof that she voided all of my items. When contacting corporate I was told the district manager who call back in 24 hours. That's not a solution, that gives the store ample time to right their wrong.

Today Dollar General posted sign that stated Comfort Bay hand towels and wash cloths buy 1 and get one half price. Small print stated excludes wash cloths.. Manager was notified and could explain the sale. Very poor advertising.

I purchased $120 worth of GameStop/Domino gift cards and when I tried to use them they were invalid. I called customer service, talked to their manager and district manager and no one helped me and said they pointed fingers to their 3rd party gift card vendor. Then I called the 3rd party and said I have to call gamestop. Then I called gamestop and they said nothing they can do. In the end this company stole my $120. This is a shady company, stay away.

Today, 4/25/26 my $5 off $25 didn't work or my 3 for $10 coupon. When cashier tried to fix it, the computer doubled the amount I suppose to pay.

Dollar General is a joke. If they will not return something without a receipt then they need to make sure they give you a receipt before you walk out the freaking door. Went to return a bar soap to get a different kind because I got the scented kind instead of unscented and they wouldn’t freaking return it because I didn’t have a receipt, but they never asked or given me a receipt when I bought it. Will not ever be shopping there ever again.

I went in to buy a lighter and was asked for an ID which I found unusual as I am a 66 year old man but I complied and show him it then he said he need to scan it, which I don't understand why, it was just a lighter. I then asked for a manager and she confirmed that they need to scan it. I asked what their policy was to protect my information. Was advise that they didn't have one. so I left and went down the street to menards and purchase the same lighter. No ID required for 40 cents less. Where has the world gone to when you need to have an id to purchase a lighter. But not to vote. You have to love where america is going. P.S I will never go back to Dollar General.

So here goes.... This is crazy but true. It happened to me today! Yesterday I was looking on the DG app and seen some things I wanted, and it popped up that I could get free delivery. I have a leg injury so this would be convenient, so I placed my order. Today I received a message that my order was being picked up, and delivered shortly. I waited and nothing, no call, no message. About an hour later I received an email that my order had been canceled! I called DG (Mead OK) and the woman was extremely rude, and said numerous times that they know nothing about the delivery orders, that it's all handled through Doordash.
I call DD and ask, "Wth is going on with my order?" They say "Well the notes show the driver couldn't find the address." I'm like, "Are you serious, were they in a horse and carriage, because there's something called GPS, not to mention I'm like 5 miles from the store and the 2nd house on my street." She says, "I'm sorry but this order has already been canceled so we can't redeliver it." She goes on to say that the store received the order because it was placed through their app. (This is correct)! So, I don't get my order, no one made any money, and the store is being ran by an idiot that needs to not answer the phone! Tomorrow I'm paying the store a visit.😱

Dollar General hires the best of the best. Teenagers that can't count and a manager that looks like a ganator telling customers to shut up and calls women the B word! I did post his picture on Facebook and advised that people shouldn't shop at Dollar General!! Has anyone notice that just like liquor stores there are a Dollar Generals on every corner. I will not shop at any trash hole Dollar General again.

Overly complicated discount/coupon system. I never received the "cash back" promotion on specific items in my online wallet and multiple times my coupons (issued by their own system) have been rejected for no logical reason. The whole experience has become complicated and inconvenient trying to save a few bucks. I will delete the app and stick to shopping at my local Harps.

Winnebago, MN, store hires the most low-level people that have no customer service experience or just plain dumb. No standing of professionalism or maturity with customers service. The store lately has nothing but what some would say crack heads working or working to buy their crack. Clear English speaking seems to be a problem, and they are not foreign. I find this store to be gross and disgusting. The bum who was working can't speak clearly enough to make sense. Downhill from when I first used this store.

Got cut in front of by another customer during checkout and then the employee chose to call us liars instead of making the other customer wait her turn. Very disrespectful, horrible customer service. Can't believe employees stand by and let other citizens do the wrong and disrespectful thing and get away with it all because they can’t seem to pay attention and do their job correctly.
