Updated on 01/16/2022: WHY BOTHER, I am still out 10.98, I will never purchase from Collections Etc. again..problem solved, but I lost the shipping cost..I unfortunately never heard of you before....THIS IS SO WRONG!!!! WHEN IS THIS GOING TO STOP?
Original Review: I measured my calf as asked by seller 16'" however you cannot get the sock on or over your foot. I went to return them and Collections want to deduct $10.99 postage from my return. This is W.R.O.N.G. The sellers are Proviso, Melrose pk. ILL. 6163..yes that is the info she gave me. I would be a fool to send them there, please can you help me to just get ALL of my $? I should not have to pay return postage on such A POORLY ADVERTISED PRODUCT. THANK YOU..S **
I ordered online from Collections, Etc. on Dec. 2. When tracking my order, it showed nothing had yet been shipped by Dec. 16 even though their site states it will be shipped within 7-10 business days. Called them and talked to someone who was very difficult to understand and was told the order was "printed" (whatever that means) on Dec. 8 and I should, again, get it within 7-10 days. She couldn't tell me whether it's actually been shipped yet or not although there is still no tracking number, but said I should call back after that number of days if I still don't have it. She said I couldn't cancel the order as it had already been printed even though it hadn't been shipped. So I have no order and have no idea when it will be shipped but I can't cancel it. Do not order from this company ever! I've had trouble with them before and should have known better so I'm warning you.
Do not buy from this website!!! I ordered a Christmas Tree Nov 13th. E-mailed to check status on Dec 5th. The reply I got said it had been shipped. Checked tracking status Dec 16th, said it was delivered Dec 11th. Never received this item. No phone # listed to call.
I placed an order on Nov 16, 2021 for 3 in stock items. It's now Dec 2. My order has not shipped. Emailed & called customer service. They claim UPS or whoever hasn't picked up the order, but Collections isn't doing anything about it.
Placed an order by phone and got denied because I was using a foreign debit card, but my foreign bank sent me a text message right away saying the company has charged the amount of that unsuccessful purchase. I called back Collections Etc and they told me if there is no order number and there won't be any charges. Big lies! They charged my foreign debit card again in 30 days without any notice or giving out any order number. I feel I have been cheated and robbed. Horrible customer service. Untrustworthy company.
My mom loved The set. It was very pretty when she got it. She put it away till she got her new bed. It was bought in May. She put it on her bed in Oct. Washed it yesterday and the seams came apart. We called and was told, "Sorry we can't help you. It's been over 120 days since you got it." She has done business with them over 20 yrs and she paid 50.00 for a piece of junk and all she wanted was to send it back and get it replaced. I told them, "You just lost a good customer." She was just fixing to start ordering Christmas from them. When we hung up she went to her room and threw away all her catalog. They were very rude. They do not stand behind their product
I ordered a product and was sent wrong item. Offered to send it back. Told to keep it. I would be sent correct product. That never happened and money never refunded even after multiple calls and emails. The supervisor said there was nothing she could do for me and was very unkind. I am on disability. 50 dollars is a great deal of money for me. After 3 months I have given up. I ordered a solar umbrella tree and was sent a wireless doorbell.
I was on a waiting list for an item from this website and I received a notice that it was back in stock. It was $15 and they said "free shipping" on $40 or more so I spent a few hours shopping. THERE IS A HANDLING FEE!!! But I proceeded to make my purchase and then it refused my credit card twice. So I called the 1-800# immediately and was told my "in stock" item would not be available for 6 more weeks. I proceeded anyway and then they told me another item was out of stock. (There was one left before I made this call.) I was so frustrated that they wasted several hours of my time that I said to cancel the whole order.
I tried to order a few items and put in free shipping code and it charged me shipping!! I called and people there are clueless!! Trying to get my money back. I cancelled it and no email confirmation for cancel. They are horrible!!
I wish I had found this site before dealing with Collections Etc. I agree with all the other 1 star reviews and wish I could give a zero-star rating. In past years this company was good but that is no longer true. Half of my ordered products were defective and I convinced them to send a pre-paid return label. My refund was to be to my credit card. Instead, they put only half of my refund on the credit card and sent a merchandise certificate for the other half. This certificate expired in 7 days and could not be applied towards the processing fee, or shipping and handling, or taxes. Upon calling, I had to ask for a manager who finally said he would return the missing refund to my credit card and it would take 7-10 business days. Of course the refund never was sent so another long phone call was needed.
The next manager contradicted the first and said he could not reverse the merchandise certificate and would not provide a reason for splitting the refund. Of course their process is obvious in that they want you to have to continue purchasing from them. As for me, I will never purchase from them again, both for the poor quality of the products and for their keeping of my money. I guess they feel they have won.
I ordered a bra size 46D. It didn't fit. My Playtex bras measure 44" around the band. Collection's bra measured 24". I called because I wanted a return label sent do I could return it and get a refund. I was told my cust. serv. rep that they would send it at a cost to me of $9.99! The bra only cost $14.99. I spoke to a supervisor and asked him to waive the fee. He said he couldn't. I have been dealing with this company for well over 30 years. I order from many catalogs and this is the only company that charges a processing fee when you order and charges for a return label. I will NEVER order from them again and I suggest no one else should either.
I placed an order with this company in Nov 2020. As part of that order, I supposedly signed up for some kind of membership according to them. I was then billed approx $97 or so in Jan which I didn't question because of all the online Christmas shopping I had been doing. Then I began to notice checking deductions of $14.95 every couple of months. I call to find our what was going on and was told I had joined a "premiere membership club". I asked what for, and they responded for savings... What a rip off and runaround. Hopefully it will stop.
I tried to purchase through their website but it kept kicking it back saying I needed to provide a shipping address. There was only space for the billing address, not the shipping address. I called the number and all my information was taken. Then I was told that my credit card was not accepted. I do not know what is going on but I had a really bad feeling about this whole thing. I just hope I don't see a charge by them when I check my statement.
I bought two housecoats that were "on sale" for $7.99 each. Ordered XL to make sure they would go over clothing and be comfortable. My arms would not even go into the sleeves and it lacked a foot or more of snapping closed. Material was so thin you could read through it. Sewing strings had not even been clipped off. I requested the full amount charged be refunded because of the extremely poor quality of the product. Total bill was $31.52 with the shipping charges. It cost me another $5.50 to return the items.
My charge card has finally shown a credit of $17.42 being credited back to my card. So, they ripped me off $8.60 on the shipping charges. I lost a total of $19.60 on two pieces of junk. They are not in the USA, nor USA made. I will NEVER order anything from the company again. I guess the loss of almost $20 is an easy lesson to learn, but it really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and gives true meaning to false advertising. Run people, run from this company.
Unfortunately, Collections Etc. is no longer a good company to buy from, or deal with. I placed an order on their website around 4 AM EST and tried to cancel it within 15-minutes without luck for four items costing $54.96, so I called them around 8 AM to do it. (They open at 6 AM CST). I decided to cancel my order after receiving an email from PayPal that Collections Etc. was charging me $9.99 for shipping even though their website had free shipping on orders of $40.00 or more. Another place had free shipping when you order three or more items.
I even gave them their free shipping code: BUY3MY from their website. Besides the shipping fee, they also added a fee of $4.95 to process the order. Besides these two fees, they were also billing me for another $7.00, a “Promotional Code” fee, without explaining what it is. What they’re trying to do is sucker you into paying a monthly fee to receive free shipping on all of your orders. Cheaper to pay for shipping. After a long conversation with the first lady, I spoke to, and not getting anywhere, and barely understood, I asked her to speak to a supervisor so she supposedly transferred my call. About seven minutes later I was disconnected so I called again and also spoke to someone I also barely understood.
The second lady I spoke to also claimed that since my order had been processed already, it cannot be canceled. I said if it hasn’t been boxed or shipped, why can’t it be canceled. She said because it has been processed. I asked if I’ll get three different packages or just one. Just one. Who do you ship with? FedEx, UPS and the Post Office. So, in other words, even though it hasn’t been boxed, shipped or know who will deliver it, you can’t cancel the order. That’s right because your order has been processed. As mentioned above, I tried to cancel with 15-minutes of placing the order. I’ll admit the ladies were very polite and did the best they could answering all of my questions. I also asked the second lady to speak to a supervisor, she said, "We don’t have one." On the various pages the totals for my order were $54.96 (for merchandise only), before any fees or taxes were added.
Order Summary Merchandise $54.96, Shipping Free, handling $4.95, Sales tax $5.24, Total $65.15 You Saved: $9.99. Another page had Merchandise Subtotal: $61.96, Promotional Code: $7.00, Processing: $4.95, Taxes: $6.12, Total: $83.02, charged to Payment Method: $76.02, You Saved: $7.00. After a very long conversation with the second lady and giving her the free shipping code again, BUY3MY, it reduced my bill to $62.02. My order status right now is: Items not yet shipped. Hum, and they can’t cancel the order. Over the years I’ve ordered a number of items from Collections Etc., but will never order from them again. Maybe they have new owners?
This is the worst online experience I have e.v.e.r had! I placed an order for a magazine table that cost $36.36 ($21.99 table+$7.99,+$4.95+$1.43). I decided I did not want it. Within 24 hours I twice e-mailed and called to cancel my order. Was told by a CSR that they were unable to do so because the order was in the process of being shipped. Called 2 days and then a week later to once again try to cancel, as I had not received a shipping notice, and was again told could not cancel as the item was still in process. I pointed out that the item had not left the warehouse so could they contact the warehouse and tell them to cancel the order. Was also told there was no way to contact the warehouse to cancel the order.
Item was eventually sent out. Within 24 hours, I printed out a return label and placed the item in the mail. Eventually I received a refund for $15.17. That is less than what I paid for the item! I was advised via an email and on the return label that $7.99 would be deducted for shipping but there was no notice about any other deductions. This has been a month long pain in the butt. I would not recommend them to a.n.y.o.n.e!
One star because you cannot understand any customer service reps because they are not in America. My package came in a beaten up torn box that was taped together and open on the top. There was no invoice, billing or packing slips. I believe I ordered six items and because there was no billing info I could not verify it. I ordered from this company many many years ago and never had an issue. I will never order from them again and I would definitely not recommend them, especially to my friends.
I have ordered from this company before with no problem. I ordered curtains, 2 valances and 2 sets of panels description said set of 2. I received 2 valances and 2 individual panels. I called them 1/4/21 explained the problem after lengthy discussion I was assured they would send right away. Still no confirmation by 1/14/21 called again, another lengthy discussion, reassured me they would get it right out, after me telling them I have 1 window with curtains and 1 without.
On 1/18/21 I get email to call, my bank did not authorize the payment. So I called back and was told they have to issue a refund to my account and then recharge my account and this could take till the end of the month, so I tell him (now with supervisor) my bank should have nothing to do with this. They just need to send me the 2 panels they shorted me. He says will send 1 set, well tried explaining that I ordered 2 sets and got 1, SO now I'm pretty sure if I get them at all I will end up getting 1 panel and not a pair. Will be calling my bank also. I am sad to say I will not be ordering from them again, too bad really nice quality curtains. But their customers service is terrible.
This used to be a great company but I think they sold it to a foreign company now. It is not cheap anymore due to a processing fee. What is a processing fee? We pay for them to put the items in a box? By the time you pay that and shipping and taxes you can find the products cheaper in another catalog, like The Lakeside Collection catalog which delivered all my products before Christmas. I have stopped buying from Collections Etc now but I used to buy from them for years. It's sad that they don't care about customers anymore.
First time ordering from this company. Prices were good and a lot of neat things. I ordered items on December 7 with a guaranteed to arrive by Christmas. Now they tell me December 30. I ask them what about guaranteed she knew nothing of and repeated when it would be delivered. Ask to speak with her supervisor. After long wait same time frame was repeated. I ask seeing you couldn't honor your guarantee is the merchandise free. She said there was no such thing. Needless to say last order they will get from me.
Called to discuss 2 Paypal deductions from my account that total more than the order cost. The young lady I spoke with kept telling me it was 1 charge in the amount of $73ish. I explained the 2 deductions of $53.97 and $39.60 totaling $93.57. I could not get her to understand and she started telling me "let me explain it to you again" that I was only charged once, over and over again. I requested to speak to a supervisor and was told there was none there, after the 4th request she put me on hold only to return and said "let me explain it again". I told her I wanted to cancel the order and was told I could not cancel as it was packed and ready for shipment. I will work with our bank but I will not be ordering from this company again and will give negative reviews based on the unprofessional and rude conversation I had today.
Thus far, three strikes with this company whose male customer service is in the negative digits! Still waiting for a call back! Never had a problem before 2019. No one is in the United States. Please investigate this company.
I ordered an ornament from the Collections Etc. mail order catalog on Nov. 7, 2020. They never sent me a confirmation email but I learned from the auto-phone order status that they shipped out my order on Nov. 20 and it was in transit. I still had not received the item by Dec. 1, so I called again and the auto service gave me a FedEX tracking number. That tracking number says the item was delivered Dec. 2 in Sacramento. I do not live in Sacramento! So I called and talked to customer service to ask why my order was sent to some other locations and how to get it to me. It seems that their customer service is in a foreign country and the man was no help. He would not do anything for me at all. I now feel scammed by Collections Etc. I had ordered from them for years and never had been treated so badly. They seem to be taking our money now and not sending us anything. How do I proceed?
Never received and never received a reply or a refund. Have written them 5 times and never heard anything. I am a senior citizen and I have tried and tried and tried to find a way to get these shoes for these people. I have not been able to get my shoes or my respond back.
Wish I could give "Zero stars!" Tried to submit order in October to beat Christmas rush; website down for almost a week; finally able to order; few days later received email that my credit card didn't take (nothing wrong w/ my credit card); had to call & CSR resubmitted & confirmed it accepted; almost 3 weeks later, $ never drafted from my account & I had no notification of products being mailed; called on 11/4 - CSR said order was being put together & shipped w/ in 2 days; called on 11/16 as I still had no money drafted from account nor notification of shipping & it says order was cancelled - they lost a $300 order, but most importantly, a return customer.
Tried online order. Didn't work. Had to order by phone. Told to sign up for trial promo for discount but I was charged full price. Called. Told trial promo give coupons. No discounts like stated. Talk to supervisor. Said wouldn't honor discount. Called me a liar. Said could give them a screenshot. Called. Talk to second sup. Did not see order cancellation, she said can't do anything about previous offered 20% off. Still $15 more than previous discount. Reps gave misleading information, ordered 4 before. Problems with each one, previously they tried to help. This time they were rude, disrespectful and untruthful.
I ordered 3 different items to ship to friends and family on 3 different days. They NEVER shipped 15 days later yet charged me. Customer service says they canceled all 3 items yet it does not show canceled and I still have charges. BEWARE BUYERS!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OF NO HELP AT ALL AND COMPANY IS A THIEF.
I placed a order and have been trying to get a hold of someone to assist with the tracking information, as the tracking number they gave me was 22 digits long and both UPS and Fed Ex said the tracking number was wrong. I then tried calling their 800 number and was kept on hold for 1 hour and 15 minutes and I finally chose the option to have them call me. I am still waiting for a call. This is the last order I place with them.
I placed an order a week ago and received an email stating items had shipped; I can provide a copy of the email. I went to FedEx and entered the tracking number to setup shipping notifications. As of today, FedEx indicates that they never received a package from Collections Etc. A label was generated but nothing has ever shipped. I called Collections Etc. about the order, and they tried to tell me it did ship, but when I had them track the shipment, it showed that the package was not shipped. I ordered in October to get ahead of the holiday rush, but there is no guarantee I will get the shipment now at all. Their customer service department avoids answering direct questions. Buyer beware.
My wife placed an order with Collections Etc and charged it to her debit account. She called back on Friday to check on items that were on back order to make sure that she was charged and they would be shipped when available. My wife then went to deposit money in her debit account and was told there was only $9 and odd change left in the account. My wife called Collections Etc and had the order cancelled. I have paperwork from the Bank that clearly shows that Collections Etc made two transactions and took all the money in her debit account. I waited over an hour on the customer service number of 1-800-582-5700 to finally get to someone and then requested a supervisor. Who then told me that I would have to fax this information to (620)584-8015. I have faxed this information to them at this number. The customer service representatives are not cooperative, are elusive, and very condescending. I would not deal with these people ever!
