    "Alex" in their Customer Service LIED repeatedly when I tried to place an order online and didn't receive an email confirmation. When I called, he said, "There is no order here for you." So I placed another order online with the same result, Several days later when I still hadn't gotten an email confirmation of my order, I called again and "Alex" or a male counterpart told me the same thing-- "There is absolutely no order here, it did not get placed." I told him there were "pending charges" on my credit card from Collections Etc., and he assured me it was a glitch, that there were NO pending charges because NO orders had been placed online. He offered to place it for me. Like an idiot I let him. He added items I NEVER purchased, did not give me the 20% discount to which I was entitled, and worst of all, I got THREE orders sent to me and I was charged for all three orders.

    The online orders HAD gone through, had been processed and my card had been charged! Worst of all, my credit card, which I gave "Alex" to place my order (and the online orders), was compromised a week later with charges from Dubai and other places I never made purchases from. Coincidence? YOU be the judge. Obviously I had to cancel my credit card. To this day, I have NEVER received an order confirmation listing items and charges for those items.

    I had never ordered from Collections before, but saw a few Christmas decor items I liked. With “free shipping” I thought it was a good deal. I paid with the total with PayPal. Later, I got a message from PayPal with the updated total I was charged, including extra processing and handling fees. It makes me angry not only at Collections, but also at PayPal for allowing charges to be added to the total I had already approved and paid.

    I will continue to use this company but watch out for hidden fees and free shipping is not free at all. Also gift certificates are not what they claim to be. Just be mindful of what you purchase. Items are much smaller than what they look like in magazines especially the statues and solar statues. They also don't put working batteries in items that are supposed to come with batteries and the storage bags rip. They don't hold anything heavy. I do like some items they sell but I try to be mindful of what I buy because some items are way overpriced and not worth the money.

    I attempted to place an order at Collections Etc. and it didn’t process. I placed the same order again and this transaction was processed. When I saw my bank statement the next day I saw that I was charged for both transactions even though the first didn’t process. When I called Collections Etc. the customer service representative said they have no transaction number or record for the first failed transaction and they can’t refund my money. This customer service representative said to go deal with my bank if I don’t like it. This customer service representative acted like I was bothering her and she heard this story a million times.

    I cancelled the second transaction order in entirety because I was so angry. About an hour later I called Collections Etc. again to speak to a different customer service representative. Collections Etc. said it would be at least 6 days before the second pending charge would fall off. Then this customer service representative said the first failed transaction attempt charge would fall off in 6 days as well. My checking account is now short $260. I don’t know if I’ll ever get my money back. Time will tell the truth. Other people on this complaint site have had the same experience as I have. This is a fraudulent company that terrorizes innocent people. Please don’t trust Collections Etc. Go spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

    I purchased the non slip carpet treads for my stairs because I have fallen several times and then my Golden Retriever fell down them last week. These are not non slip, but an overpriced piece of carpet. There is a tiny adhesive strip in the middle of the steps that I almost didn’t see. It does not adhere to my steps. I had to go to Home Depot to buy some carpet tape. If I had believed that these were non slip and put them on my steps I would have broken my neck. This product is a safety hazard. I had already decided I would keep them and buy my own adhesive but I wanted Collections to know about my experience.

    I am a first time buyer. My mom buys from them a lot. She has purchased things that don’t work. When I got a manager on the phone, she acted like she didn’t believe me. Even though I said that I was keeping the carpet. I tried to explain my issues with the product, and she got rude and hung up on me. Don’t buy from this company. Poor quality and terrible customer service.

    I received my order of a Copper Bullet Pocket Hose from Collections, Etc and have a problem with it. When I turn the water on at the spigot outside with the sprayer and hose in the off position, it expands but as soon as I open the sprayer and hose for the water to come out it retracts back to original position. Collections, Etc wants me to return it at my expense or get a return label and they'll deduct $12 from my refund. Copper Bullet Pocket Hose refers me back to Collections, Etc. No one seems to want to help me with this that won't cost me more money. I've paid about $55 plus shipping to get it. Now have to pay to return it. It's not like I just changed my mind, the hose is defective.

    I would give this company a -100. It is nothing more than a scam. Products are not represented well by the catalog and returning items is a nightmare. They charge you $11.99 with a return label and when you drop at USPS it takes 7-14 days just to get it picked and then another 30 days for them to process a refund if you ever really get one sent to you. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

    Do not order from this company unless you want to throw your money away if you don't like what you ordered. Amazon is a much better option. Amazon has a policy that if you are not satisfied you can return the item. No questions asked and no fee. But not this company. If the item is unsatisfactory they will send you a return label after jumping through stupid hoops, but it will cost you $11.99 of your refund.

    The products are of low quality and should only be ordered if you're not looking for longevity. Their customer service is terrible. When you try to put an email in their system to get a return label, their system told me multiple times after putting in several different email addresses that I needed to put in a valid email address. So you get stuck emailing them. Then they respond by saying they will send a return label within 24 hours and it's from an email you can not reply to. Four days later I had to email them again through the previous email address and then they claimed they couldn't find the order. It is an exercise in circular reasoning and circular excuses. Beware of ordering from them!

    I would give not zero but I will give -10. I have the most trouble experience with company like this one. I called the customer service 3 consecutive times not to take order from one family member is mentally challenge. They promise me they going to restricted her in their sales database but they took her orders, when I call them why they oblige that the sales person miss three times didn't see the restricted order. I returned the merchandises since two weeks. Until now they didn't give back my money. The law doesn't allow to accept any transactions from incapacitated mentally challenge persons but Collections Etc. accepted!!!!

    BEWARE--HORRIBLE COMPANY--DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I purchased 8 pairs Collections ETC cotton knit cropped capris pants on Walmart.com., and received in two shipments--6 pair in one and 2 in the other. I tried one pair, did not like and returned all 8 pairs in original packaging in two shipments--6 pair in one and 2 in the other. I have been credited for 2 pair return shipment and only partially credited for 4 of the 6 pair return shipment. I have called Walmart and complained many times and am still fighting for the balance. BEWARE!!!

    If I could give this company zero stars, I would. I used to buy from these guys and was always happy. However, they are nickel and diming their customers. By the time you add taxes and a ridiculous processing fee, you could have gotten the items elsewhere at a much more reasonable price. Never again...

    I received a call from my bank about a fraudulent charge. My statement was showing an attempt to charge. Bank closed that down quick! I was not out anything except the inconvenience of waiting on a new card! Thank goodness I get suspicious activity notices. I would love to be able to prosecute them.

    I received notification from my credit card company that this business was holding a $0.01 charge on my card. I have never heard of this company, my credit card company gave me the company # 620-584-8000 and "Vin" could not locate an account with my name or zip code, directed me to "Patty" at 847-350-5610 and she said their credit card processor was down and would call back... I will update if we receive a call back.

    Purchased couch set that included 3 electric reclining chair components. Chairs on one side quit working due to bad plug. Called customer service and was told they would send tech out. Day tech was supposed to be here, get a notice that tech called out. I called and told them I could drop by and grab cord. They said a tech had to evaluate the issue. I told them I didn't need a tech, it was 100% obvious it was the cord. They said that I could not stop in and get new cord as it would have to be ordered. They ordered, never got confirmation email or call.

    Called back several times and was given a story that it was back-ordered. I told them I could order on Amazon and have it in 2 days. I shouldn't have to order after spending thousands of dollars. Over a month and a half no email, call on update. Just called and same old story. I asked to return entire couch so they could incur hundreds of dollars in fees and restocking. Was told by customer service she doesn't handle that I would have to go to showroom. There is no such thing as customer service nowadays.

    Beware of this company Collections Etc. It does not care about any customers. Or do they have anything other agenda than greed to make money! I was charged double on my Bank Account for what they call some kind of hold to ensure payment and they claim it is not get charged and will drop off eventually...But it was charged and all my other bills turned out with insufficient funds and was charged several times on my account for insufficient funds and aside from making my bills not get paid! I called three times and even asked for supervisor and Corporate Phone Number but was told it wasn't charged as if they are scripted to say that and know it is but do not care. We will never purchase from them ever again. We hope to get our message and everyone's Bad experience out to the consumer!!! Jeff

    Be aware!!!! Horrendous customer service!!!! We placed an order for my 85 year old mother in-law and not even 10 minutes later realized it was the wrong size. Robotic manager refused to help. He said could not change size or cancel order. Manager said we would have to receive order and pay usd $ 11.99 to return and reorder the right size. We have never dealt with such despicable customer service. Do not recommend and will never use #Collectionsetc again.

    Updated on 05/17/2025: This is the most pathetic & the most dishonest company ever!!! THIEVES. DO NOT ORDER FROM COLLECTIONS. They still owe me a 7.00 refund from AUGUST of 2023 that was never sent. I ordered chair covers & lingerie products. When they were delivered on the white attached receipt it stated that my order today resulted in a $7 overpay & that a refund would be sent in 4 wks. When I never received it I wrote Collections inquiring about no refund money being sent. I wrote 3 letters & they ignored my complaints. That is a 7.00 THEFT. In the meantime that loser company is still sending me catalogs saying "We miss you". Um ya- their products are total garbage that are cheap looking & look nothing like the picture. Don't waste your money!!!!

    Original review: On top of the white receipt it stated. "Your total order resulted in a $7.00 overpayment." I did the math wrong & sent them too much. "We will send you a refund in 4 weeks." They never sent me a Payment.

    I ordered an item, never received confirmation or item. Waited a few weeks, ordered a new item instead. Received both orders a few days apart. Was told there was a computer problem with first order. Called customer service to return one of the items which was never opened, was told I would have to pay the $11.95 shipping. Ridiculous! It was not my fault they had a computer issue. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Do not order unless you are absolutely sure you will keep item.

    My mother who is 92 years old picked out gifts for a few family members and paid with her credit card which was charged by this company on 11/23. No order ever arrived. I called about a week before Christmas and was told by a customer service rep that the order would absolutely arrive by Christmas Eve. It did NOT! So each day after, we thought it would eventually arrive. I called them again and spoke to a gentleman named Leo who apologized and said that according to his computer, the order was shipped but most likely stuck in transit somewhere and he reviewed the order and said it would ship out the next day and take about 7-10 business days.

    So this was 12/29. Oddly enough the VERY next day, my daughter got an email stating the order was delivered! IT WAS NOT! So now the 2nd order is conveniently sitting in limbo like the first one. At this point I just want her money back. This place is a fraud! This couldn't have happened twice if this company was legit as they once were.

    Called Kansas District Attorney, Collections Etc is Running a Ponzi Scheme. Placed 4 orders online, all came up with error messages. That order could not be placed. No order. No order number. Come to look at my credit card linked to bank account. Collections etc has STOLEN $900 dollars in pending authorizations for no order. These company is running a Ponzi scheme holding pre-authorizations with no orders with no order numbers to reference. However, on my bank account it's clear it's from Collection etc $258 4 times. They will not release the funds after 12 days. That is a Ponzi scheme. It's Christmas, they ruined my holiday shopping deliberately thieving company.

    Filed with BBB. Filing a formal complaint with the Kansas district attorney where this con company is run by CCP. All pending in authorization and after 12 phone calls and 12 days will not release funds. Thieves. Use Amazon if you must buy their crap. Do not use phone order or online website. Ponzi scheme business. Holding money for a non-order is stealing my money for their use. This pending in authorization. This fool company will be investigated and audited now.

    In May 2023, I purchased two bed comforters total cost $86.45. I had to pay $25.50 to mail back. Original shipping cost non-refundable. Total refund to me $33.22! SCAMMERS, you will get ripped off too if purchase from Collections Etc!

    I bought 2 shirts for $42.33 (actually price was $39.76 but they added a hidden $2.50 processing fee that was not displayed on their screen due to their numerous computer errors) via DEBIT CARD that goes to my checking account. They charged me the $42.33 plus 2 charges that I NEVER SUBMITTED TO: $39.76 and $71.84. This is outrageous and fraud and bad business practices.

    They told me that they were Pre-Authorizations and that they would automatically come off: This was deception and this was a lie; I had to do everything myself MANUALLY: For many hours across 2 days, I was on with them and my bank; and my bank had to give them all of the info they needed to send my bank a form so that I can get refunded and I am still waiting for my 2 credits. All of this happened because their systems are broken: They submit charges against your credit or debit card that you never authorized.

    Also, again, due to their many software errors, they tried to save my VISA card and their "edit" would not allow me to de-select the box; so then I had to delete my DEBIT card and re-insert my DEBIT card and deselect the box so that my DEBIT card would NOT be saved; this process triggered their software to submit 2 fraudulent charges. Also their system does not give you your order number; I had to call them to get it. Also their system does not send you an email documenting your order (and I checked my SPAM also). Also their ad say items are in stock but at the end they are out of stock. Buyer beware: This Collections Etc used to be good; but now it is a fraud company due to their broken website. They will submit fraudulent charges to your debit card or credit card. I checked and many other consumers were ** exactly the same way that I was.

    I really love this site and order from it all the time and so do my children but the fact that they are selling sexual toys and devices is really a turn off and inappropriate for this kind of family style magazine and so unnecessary it ruins the cuteness and wholesomeness of the catalog.. now I have to be careful of my children flipping through it.

    I ordered two pair of women's stirrup pants on 31 JAN 2023 which arrived late in February. These items were priced at $27.99 each. AFTER the charge of 55.98 (plus $3.92 in tax and $10.99 in shipping) I received an email that they tacked on another $6.50 for 'processing.' PayPal notified me of this additional charge post purchase. I took one pair out of the bag and the material was not only of very poor quality, they sagged! I immediately returned them and it wasn't until today 14 MAR 2023 that I received an email for a credit of only $27.99! I had to call the company (customer service) who said that that was incorrect and they had credited me another $27.95. I would never trust this company or its products EVER.

    I placed an order and at checkout agreed to pay the amount of my purchase. I paid via PayPal. The charge that appeared on my PayPal account was for $6.50 more than I agreed to for Handling & Carrier Surcharge, I think it is fraudulent to add charges AFTER the buyer agrees to pay the invoice with no notice until the buyer sees their PayPal account. I called to resolve the issue with Collections, etc. and the 1st agent I spoke with said the amount would be refunded when I received my items. When it was not I called to check on it. There were no notes about my previous conversation. I believe she told me that to get me off the phone. The other agent was very polite but resolute that no refund would be issued. If I were to return the items, they were still going to keep the $6.50 Handling & Carrier Surcharge. I know it is only $6.50 but how many times a day are they doing this?

    This company is a FRAUD. I purchased $354.09 in merchandise and they placed a hold for over $1,500 with my bank. This has overdrawn my account by over $600. I called Collections, Etc. and have been told by 3 different people that this is their pattern and practice. I was also told not to worry. That the excess funds will be released in 6 days. WTF? My account is overdrawn by $600 leaving me without access to any funds for 6 days and they casually tell me not to worry? They actually got nasty with me. I guess I'll just go without food for the next 6 days. Needless to say, I canceled my order and am sitting waiting, hungry, for my money to be returned to me.

    ON Dec 7 I ordered wolf T shirt for Christmas. They said cut off date is the 8th for christmas delivery. My package stayed on their warehouse for 4 days after order was confirmed. Now on the 20th of Dec it has been in Illinois for 10 days. Now on Dec 20, 13 days after confirmation according to tracking it is still in Illinois. Called them, talked to supervisor as the operator could not speak english very well and could not understand her. Supervisor stated that she could not have it here for Christmas. Said she would refund. No refund has been seen. Previous order was from them from Amazon. RECEIVED AN email stating it had been delivered. But it had not been delivered. It did come the next day though. They tack on a handling charge separate from shipping which doubles the price of your purchase. These people are so corrupt. Now you must order merchandise at least a month in advance. They need to be fined or shut down.

    I agree with the others-They don't clearly state the add on charges when you place your order-then when you see it on pay pal-the charge is double from what you saw on the Collections order site-(I called & was told it was all explained if you click on FAQ at the top of the page-(frequently asked questions)-then you see line after line of things you would never know about if you didn't read it all)-I told them this should all be upfront & it should show up when you place an order-not after-They charge almost the same amount as the item & call it "handling charges". I think they have cute products, but I am done with them-They need to be investigated for their deceptive practices. You should see every charge before you agree to pay-not after-They have lost my business forever.

    Firstly, I could never get the free shipping code to work, somehow got signed up for their monthly "savings plan" for $17. Did manage to get out of that. Secondly, what I ordered didn't look anything like the pic, was such poor quality it shouldn't even be being manufactured, and was just worthless. Sent it back, took forever to get acknowledgement on that, FINALLY got a refund, but not for full amount. Yes, they keep $12 for return shipping, whatever, but I still never got the full amount back. A few dollars short, but I give up. Don't bother calling them. Call center is in India and you cannot understand them in the least, especially if you have even a minor hearing issue.

    My mother ordered Aug 30. Was charged for order on on Sept 6. They show it shipped on Sept 6. She hasn't received order and it is now Nov 1, 2022. She called Oct 10 was told it was on its way by someone she could barely understand. (Had such a thick accent in their voice.) I have emailed a couple of times and have received the runaround. Didn't figure calling would work. Don't order from them. They don't have any customer service that can help you.
