Signing up for Credit Karma was super easy and it only took a few minutes. Once the sign-up process was completed I was able to access my credit report for free. I enjoyed the website and the site and its features are great as is. What I like most is accessing my credit report from the comfort of my home or phone and I was happy that it wasn't a scam.

Credit Karma is easy to use and the best part is it’s free. I am very satisfied with checking my credit score and I feel very safe that Credit Karma is safe. I really like how there are options to get your credit score high again with the option of credit cards and that I can tell how low or high my credit score is. It also recommends how to build your credit by choosing from a lot of credit cards. But besides the credit cards to build your credit they should make it so you only pay a monthly fee and not have to deposit money just to get a credit card.

Credit Karma seems very accurate and easy to navigate. It is also easy to use and has a cellular phone application that is very helpful on the go. But it seems to have old information for a long time and isn't updated often. I am unfamiliar with other apps re: credit because Credit Karma provides all 3 major credit bureaus. It is convenient to be able to view all three major credit scores in one website and it provides access to your three most important scores. I am very satisfied with Credit Karma.

I have had a great experience with Credit Karma. Easy to access and I like the part where you can see the changes and other activity on your credit report. I loved how they made the pie wheel to show you where you are and how close you are to reaching your goal credit score. The new color scheme is nice also. I wish they could give you real time credit advisor to help you with questions or solutions. Also, if there was a way to have your credit report updated on the number of accounts that have fallen off your score.

Do not EVER EVER EVER use these people to make a soft inquiry about being pre-approved for a personal loan. The website says the pre-approval inquiry doesn't affect your credit rating. But as soon as I filled in the form and clicked Enter, I got a notification that my credit rating had dropped 42 POINTS!!! It will take me literally YEARS to work back up to the very good rating that I had.

Credit Karma is very easy to use and is a very valuable asset to have. Not knowing your credit score could cost you more money when you finance a house or car. I love getting an email from Credit Karma letting me know when my credit score has changed as this could help me get a better interest rate for a loan or credit card. But Credit Karma could be better if they come up with a list of ways to improve your score like establishing a store credit card, gas card or small bank loan.

Credit Karma seems to be the most secure site of all the credit reporting sites and the layout of the site presents a professional appearance and a seamless process to obtain the information needed when it comes to credit reporting. The site provided seamless access to all three reporting agencies. Having all three reporting agencies in one spot helps to see if there are any discrepancies across the three agencies. It also provided support if there were any disputes on the credit report.

It doesn't cost any money to check your credit score with Credit Karma and it doesn't affect your rating to do this. And you can check your credit any time you want and you can do it by computer or cell phone. It is very easy to use by submitting your Social Security number and they let you know as soon as you are finished and they will send you email pretty often to remind you that you can check your credit report as often as you like. I dislike giving anyone my social security number but Credit Karma can be trusted.

It appears this site is a front to get you to obtain a credit card. My "scores" go up and down on an almost weekly basis about 40 points, and I am in the over 800 area, and do nothing to affect my scores. I come to realize my emails from Karma are simply to get me to get another credit card. Truly, a scam site.

It provided accurate and reliable information and offered emails to manage your credit with tips and advisory. It is easy to use and covered all credit reporting agencies. It is helpful to be able to trust a site to help keep track of my most current credit reports. But the monthly subscription cost is very expensive. I don't like the cost of 20.95 per month to have to maintain my credit report. Something free would be very beneficial.

I do not like Credit Karma or any of its affiliates. They take your info and bombard you incessantly with harassing mass marketing phone calls under local area codes to throw you off. The market for credit reporting is super shady. It preys on people who forgo their best judgement in an effort to repair their credit. Horrible people.

The Credit Karma site provides me with all inquiries and when they were made. It also provides recommendations for improving my credit score with low APR credit cards. However, it seems there is a lag between my actual credit score and what the site provides. I would make this real time as it relates to transactions made in real time. Nevertheless, I can go through my entire credit history and look for errors. I can also see any issues that negatively affect my score and make corrections as needed.

When checked my credit score through Credit Karma there is a hard inquiry that does not exist. It is as follows SYNCB/JCP on 04-04-2016 National Credit Card Airlines. It also gives location and phone number of the business to ask about it. I was told they had no idea as to what I was talking about. I owe them nothing. Also they do not even offer such credit cards. Now this is against me because someone messed up.

Upon making my monthly review on Credit Karma, I discovered missing information and apparently there is no way to contact Credit Karma to correct this. An auto loan of 32,900.00 that was paid off in 2016 is missing completely from their report. I tried to contact Credit Karma about that matter, but keep getting the electronic run-around. Their webpage format has changed recently so you can't see your creditors together on one page like you used to be able to do. What kind of company doesn't have customer service? My thought: A bad company. I checked with Equifax and this loan is on their report. My question now becomes, how much other stuff is Credit Karma missing and why? Pay the monthly fee with a more reputable firm and get real monitoring so you actually have accurate information about your own credit.

It was easy to sign up with Credit Karma. I like the e-mail notifications and that Credit Karma is free to check, and doesn't go against your credit score. I also like that they give suggestions on how to improve credit score. I would improve Credit Karma so the things that are lowering the credit score, you could reach out to the proper place and set up payment arrangements or have links by them so you could contact the proper place to work on your credit score. Also, it is sometimes hard to navigate. They only show you one credit card you could be approved for at a time. I wish they would allow a list. I like the e-mail notifications but don't like getting 2 or 3 day. One notification a day would be efficient enough. Other than that, it was really easy to see what was lowering my credit score.

I honestly cannot find ONE derogatory thing to say about them.
My experience with this company has been nothing but positive. I would have absolutely no problem recommending their services to anyone and tell them the reasons why they should put them at the forefront when they are considering a company to go with when selecting a company for their credit reports. They are honest and upfront and the credit reports that I am able to access seem very accurate. Going forward, I am hopeful that they will continue to be a free company. Their website is also extremely user-friendly and very easy to navigate which is extremely important to me.

I applied through Credit Karma and after the initial submission (soft credit check), I was approved pending submission of verification documents including copies of last three bank statements and last two pay stubs which I submitted. I did however, mark through each payees name on my statements, not the transaction amounts, just the names, and not the direct deposits. Shortly after submission, I received a call where I was told that they needed to see the complete statement where I argued that "who" I did business with was irrelevant as they were provided both the income and expense records! I was put on hold for a few minutes and when the guy came back, he advised that it was OK and that he could accept the documents the way they were and we hang up.
Now, it is at this point, I discover that a "hard hit" to my credit report has been done which is OK from my point as they just "approved" the loan verbally. Then I get an email declining the loan. My review is based on the yo-yo responses and the denial based on me arguing their need to see "who" I did business with which was the only reason I was denied! I don't have great credit (656) but not bad either, and working diligently to repair it. Considering they claim to cater to less than perfect credit, I was only seeking $2600.00 to consolidate credit card debt, they were all good-to-go until I refused to send bank statements that had not been redacted of the "names" only. I should also state that during the phone calls, there were noises of children playing in the background! Very unprofessional! I got a hard hit on my credit report due to a scam business!!

Beneficial, educational, helpful. I like that it breaks everything down in an accessible way. I also like the recommendations feature. That feature allows me to see what other options are out there for ways to boost my credit. It polls both Experian and TransUnion and provides recommendations. The website is a little clunky. Sometimes it's hard to find things. The recommendations for credit cards, etc. are sometimes featured too prominently on the main page in a way that is distracting from why I went to the website in the first place. It would also benefit from links to the three credit report companies so you can request a credit report from them on a semi-regular basis. Overall, it's been a good experience. I like that I can get my credit scores from 2 of the 3 credit reports, if I find a mistake on either of them I can dispute right on the site. I can find either prepaid or credit cards I could have a pick of, I can look at all of my hard inquiries. One of the credit reporters is so much easier to dispute a mistake than the other one, they should be the same one. You have to look for a 10 digit number out. It's very hard to find and I would like a way to know when they would be removed from the credit report, what dates or a way to tell how much longer each item status on. But I have ease at finding my information in this site. It's easy to compare items on both reports and it provides what credit card offers are best for me. I don't want to go on the site to get a credit card; I want my credit to get better. I get occasional emails, and I try to check my score at least every other month. It helps me monitor for changes or anything fishy on my credit report. I download my credit report once a year to see if everything is correct on my report.

I also like the suggestions to help your credit rating, clear understanding of what you are reading. It is very colorful and cool site with graphs and I also was able to my history of all my rates but it would be cool if you could print out your credit report at least once a year to have on file and you could clean up your report. I find it easier to remember things with a print out so that would help out a lot to get that accomplished.
I looked at my report today and I was sent an alert stating that our credit was being check. We were working with our primary banking institution to move a loan from another bank to their facility. When the credit check was done I was immediately sent an email. I could go in and look at what the bank saw as my rate from two of the three major rating companies. And I was able to see what my credit was based on, such as the activity and reporting of all the companies on my report. I could see what each company said about my payments, too.

I will be returning to TaxAct for my 2017 return. Credit Karma's service is free and like everything in this world, you get what you pay for. They made a blatant, gross error in calculating my adjusted gross income and this screwed up both my federal and state returns. For the Adjusted Gross Income, you can make entries on lines 23-35. Then line 36 totals all of the previous lines up. I made ZERO entries in lines 23-35, yet Credit Karma put the amount in line 36 of $3,055.00.
Now, line 36 should have had a zero amount in it because I did not enter anything in lines 23-35 in order to even have a total for line 36. I have contacted Credit Karma to see what they plan on doing about this and I am awaiting their response. Meanwhile, I am receiving notices from both the IRS and Ohio State Income Tax about this error, which was not mine. Now, both my federal and state returns have increased in the amount that I owe which will also increase with penalties, etc. This is a totally unacceptable and gross error on their part. Having read many reviews about Credit Karma I was amazed at how many were negative. I think people’s expectations far exceeded my own. As for me I just wanted a starting point, I wanted a picture of my credit and that's what I got. Three years ago I started using Credit Karma and according to the site I started with a 602 score. I was just coming off a Chapter 13 bankruptcy (lost my job) and was for the first time in a long time in a position with a positive cash flow, I had a some high interest credit cards with moderate balances, but I was of a mindset to get my financial house in order.
As I mentioned earlier I had read reviews and some complained about how inaccurate the scores were compared to actual credit reports. To me this didn't matter. I had a starting point and a place to go to start my financial healing. Prior to using Credit Karma I would have told you that I had a good grasp on my finances and how they were affected. Boy, was I wrong. I won't list all of my ignorance but suffice it to say I knew very little.
Here is how Credit Karma helped me get to a current 736 score (according to them anyway). 1. I was able to dispute late payments or derogatory comments directly from the site (by the way it is a good idea to dispute everything; the worst case is the creditor will just say no, but most the time they won't bother disputing it). 2. As I paid off debts I could see the impact on my score which kept me motivated. 3. I learned that I could ask creditors to raise my limits, and since my payment history was good I was able to get most of them to do it, thus improving my score even more.
My bankruptcy is still on my report but because I constantly monitor my report I am able to overcome that negative impact and improve my score. Yes, I realize the information I gleaned from Credit Karma was readily available. All I am saying is the site works for me and I will continue to use it for what it is, a helpful tool. One last thing, many of the reviews I have read complained about the sites 'Approval Odds' being inaccurate, you have to take these offers for what they are. I would assume that when you apply via the link Credit Karma gets paid, if you get approved they probably get paid even more. So, if you were the owner wouldn't behoove you to get people to click? As my kids would say, "Just sayin..."

I won't go into details, but I had to do my return again on the service I used last year.
Like other writers, I contacted them and got a canned response to "check with my tax professional." First of all, why am I using a free service? If I had a tax professional, I'd be paying them. Secondly, I knew exactly what their error was but they were not set up to handle the worksheet properly. Thirdly, whereas other software makes a notation when someone enters an amount smaller than what is reported on 1099-R for retirees, their software doesn't. I wrote them two more times until I finally got someone who said they would "forward my concerns to the appropriate group." I won't be using this service unless they make significant improvements. I tried to use Credit Karma free tax filing system to file my taxes. It created three errors all which would have cost me a lot of money if I hadn't caught them. Luckily I did and used another program. However I was compelled to reach out and speak about this because if I hadn't caught them it could have been costly. I would feel bad if someone was charged more than the government wanted to charge them for taxes because Credit Karma prematurely launched a program full of glitches.
The three errors were as follows: Charging me taxes on my HSA withdrawal. As in not giving me the option to state that they were all for qualified medical expenses. Not allowing me the two month grace period with no insurance as permissible in the tax law for health insurance. Instead it prorated the two months and charged me a fee. Charging me taxes on a withdrawal from a Roth IRA that was not taxable. IE it was already taxed, it was only my original contribution and it was returned within 30 days. Credit Karma did not even have the letter codes available for box 7 on 1099-R only numbers.
Clearly the program is in alpha and not ready to be launched. Please Credit Karma if your tax program is only good for the very most basic filings perhaps 1040EZ people with nothing more than one job and no other credits, deductions or forms, then state it as so. It's not fair to cost the little people money so you can harvest us for more information. Thanks and have a great day!

I do not take anything that Credit Karma has to say to heart. I would advise anyone using the site to do the same. Fortunately I found this out years ago, like 2013. I applied for an auto loan and my score was 40 points higher in reality than what Credit Karma listed, great for me because I got a better interest rate, but not good for Credit Karma. It gave me no faith in their reporting system. Since then I use them as a baseline. I would use them to calculate how your score could be affected if you decreased debt. I would not use any of their resources to refinance loans, credit card debt, etc. I don't believe that they have good options. What I have personally found helps is credit card offers with 0% interest for balance transfers.
Ideally these should be lines of credit you already have open and with offers from those lines of credit. Then you transfer your highest interest earning credit card amount to that card and plan to have it paid off within the allotted time frame. You can also play the Rob Peter, pay Paul game. If you would be making a payment of 200 on one card and have a 0% interest offer on another do a balance transfer 3 weeks prior to the time of the payment is due (or right after the statement is released, so the payment is received in time. You have to stay on top of your credit cards and your awareness of what is going on with your accounts. If you were scheduled to make a $200 payment, make a $400 balance transfer to the credit line with the 0% offer. Then after the statement for the card the balance transfer was made to is released make a $400 payment to that card. You are really making 2 payments in one.
You will have a balance transfer fee, this is much smaller (normally about 2% or a minimum of $5-10) than the calculated interest rate that accumulates by making 2 small payments. Credit Karma does not give advice like this. Use them as a gauge but don't take their advice or scores to heart. I know that they currently have my score reported 70 points below what it actually is. I'm a 774 and they have me at a 704, big difference. I guess sometimes Credit Karma is nice for a giggle.

I seriously can't believe this literally just happened. I got an email stating that someone accessed my account. I was suppose to get 1785.00 back and then Credit Karma went in and changed my information. I have a copy of the 1785 refund and a copy of the 1388 refund paperwork. If they took your money I am willing to file a Class Action Lawsuit against Credit Karma and how they take your money. (*397 is a lot of money for me) I know damn well. Go somewhere else. Because not only is this Illegal I don't even know if I will get my money into my account.

Made a HUGE mistake and decided to file my taxes with Credit Karma. First off, I couldn't file my state taxes until TODAY apparently, when I filed my taxes a little less than 2 months ago. Now to my federal taxes: filled out the information as requested, then got an email saying the IRS wasn't accepting pins this year, which Credit Karma asked me to create (even when this is a new system for the year so they should've known this), so I had to prove my identity by giving them my modified adjusted gross income from last year. Sent it, Credit Karma said it was approved, and waited. Weeks went by, others received their tax returns, I receive a letter from the IRS. This letter stated that my 8962 did not match up to my 1095A, so I had to re file/amend my return. How can that be possible when I verified all of my information before sending it?! Now I won't receive my tax return money for another 2 months or longer.
I've emailed several times only to receive automated, generalized messages regarding "How to file an Amended Return" that can't even be done through their website even if I wanted to (says it's "not available yet"). No follow up, no real communication. Overall a shoddy business and tax system. As soon as someone contacts me I will be deleting my account and making sure everyone I know/can contact through reviews online will know not to ever use their system again. I don't know if it's possible, but with so many similar complaints we should be able to sue for illegally altering our tax returns... Maybe that will get their attention.

When I contacted them to inquire about the issues with my federal and tax return they sent me a link to their TOS explaining that they are not responsible and liable for anything that can and is going to go wrong. I am not even sure these claims are legal as there seems to be a case of negligence and an effort to cover it up. They should be investigated.

I canceled my Credit Karma account as I was angry due to a similar issue with Avant in December. Federal filing went fine - was submitted and accepted by the IRS. The State of Arizona tax return is another story entirely. It has been in "submitted" state for 9 days now - NOT "accepted". I finally called the State and they said they have not received ANYTHING for me from Credit Karma. I have opened 2 support tickets with Credit Karma and insisted they just resubmit the darn state taxes, and they insisted they escalate this issue, and STILL do not have any actions let alone a resolution on this matter. BEWARE BEWARE. I will "never ever" use their service again, and would not recommend them to ANYONE. I say again, consumer beware.

So I email support, my account has been deactivated for security concerns without notifying me at all. NOW I HAVE NO IDEA IF MY TAX RETURN WILL MAKE IT TO MY BANK ACCOUNT. This is no way for a company handling very crucial tax information to handle their clients. I'm SOL for trying to be progressive and try something new. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. I unfortunately tried out Credit Karma's new tax filing. It was a disaster. Numerous times their silly help guide skipped part of the 1040. I had to search the site to find out where to input HSA information and then the site mysteriously would not include the credit in the calculations. Turns out there was one stray check box filled out wrong and no alert or signal or explanation as to why that should mean the information would be excluded. Once I figured that out, I then reviewed my forms. Everything seemed OK. But somewhere between review and the online filing, their site deleted all my Schedule E information. Now I will have to amend my form and of course their site does not support the 1040X amended form and I will have to do it via snail mail instead.
Long story short, now I will have to wait an additional? 2-3? 4-5? months to get all of my refund. DO NOT USE THEIR TAX PREPARATION SITE. I have used two other online filing sites. They cost some money, but at least they work. If you use Credit Karma, you will get the service free, but you get what you pay for evidently. I will be filing a complaint form with the IRS about their horrible site and their complete lack of customer service. THERE IS NO CONTACT INFORMATION ON THEIR SITE.

I filed my federal tax on January 27th, 2017 and everything with that went fine. The system told me I couldn't submit my state return because Georgia was not accepting returns. Which I didn't understand because my co-worker did his taxes on the same day on a different website & was not told that plus he received his state return on February 3rd. Now my state status on Credit Karma just says in progress with no way to recover my state return. I can't submit it & there is not even a link to open it up. We used CKT for my federal and state returns. A small amount was owed the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and we opted to for a bank account withdrawal in April. After e-filing, the system allowed me to save the returns. So far so good. After everything was complete, I checked the downloaded returns and we're missing at least two Schedules for Pennsylvania and confirmation of the subsequent bank withdrawal to satisfy what's owed to PA. I contacted CKT Support first asking for the bank withdrawal confirmation because I didn't yet realize that the Schedules were missing. The response was slow and the typical "we're looking into it." Later, I realized the lack of Schedules and contacted them again. At this point, I don't know what's been filed with the Pennsylvania... And apparently neither does CKT.

Due to Credit Karma’s inaccurate reporting offers were made from different banks to refinance my car. My credit was ran too many times to only be told by these agencies the score given to me was inaccurate and that I should contact Credit Karma. I was also told that this would not cause points to my credit since the report was already available and that’s why Credit Karma’s banks suggestions list was available to me. I would like those points back. And Credit Karma should write a letter explaining what happened to my credit report. All this negative impact needs to be removed immediately.

But I already made choices based on my Credit Karma scores. So I put a lot of stock in these scores. Applied for a much needed loan with LightStream, turned down, then with Lending Club, same thing, then with Prosper, same thing. So finally got a reason from LightStream, my Equifax Score is 656!! That's in line with Experian's 653. Thanks a lot Credit Karma!!! The BBB has many complaints about them, BBB SCORE is F.

Credit Karma is a very popular site for tracking personal credit rating. Unfortunately it is wildly inaccurate. With my numbers I have experienced it having an inaccuracy window of up to 100 points! I have no idea why it is allowed to fool people into thinking that their credit is either higher or lower than it is, but somehow they get away with it. Just don't believe the numbers they give you or you could make financial decisions based on false numbers and end up either taking offers that are not a good deal for you because you think you have worse credit than you do, or applying for credit that you will get turned down for, thus creating unnecessary hard inquiries on your credit, which could result in further damaging your numbers.

I created an account with Credit Karma a few years ago, asked for my credit reports, and everything went well. I decided to get an updated report recently, but when I tried to log in, I was told my password was incorrect. After trying every password I could think of (to no avail) I gave up and hit the "Forgot My Password" link. The pop-up said an email would be sent to me with instructions on resetting my password. 30 minutes later, no email, so I tried again with the same results. I tried several times before giving up and contacting their Customer Support.
I explained in great detail the problems I was having. I received an auto-reply with a link to the exact same page. I tried filling out the "Reset My Password" one more time, and once again was told an email would be sent. It never arrived. I wrote Customer Support a second time explaining that this wasn't working. I received another auto-reply asking me to submit additional information, which I provided. Once again, they sent me the same link to the same useless page.
Completely frustrated, I wrote another lengthy email, which provided detailed information on the problem I was having, asking someone to PLEASE take the time to actually read what I had sent. A representative finally responded, saying that my account had been confirmed and offering me two options to correct the problem. They then considered the issue "resolved." It wasn't.
I tried both options and had the same results. I tried to completely reset the account (one of their suggestions) and received a notice saying I wasn't registered (after the representative confirmed I was). I then tried registering again using a different email address, only to be informed that I already had an account (after they told me I didn't). At this point, I was ready to throw up my hands and scream, but being a tenacious sort of person, I thought I'd give Customer Support one more chance.
I wrote the Customer Support rep yet again, going into great detail about the problem, explaining that the suggestions she provided did not work. I asked what other options were available to me, and said that I was growing increasingly frustrated at Credit Karma's inability to resolve such a simple problem. What response did I received? The same auto-reply with a link to reset my password, i.e., the one that didn't work the first four times I tried it. I responded asking someone to please read the email I sent rather than just hit auto-reply. And what did Credit Karma do? They sent me another auto-reply, of course, this time asking me for additional information (just like the one they sent earlier). I filled it out and hit the "submit" button, but it wouldn't send.
As tenacious as I am, everyone has their limits. Credit Karma's "Customer Support" (and I use the term loosely) obviously consists of sending out auto-replies, placing their customers into a never-ending daisy chain. If you want to save yourself from endlessly slapping yourself in the head and screaming about incompetence, stay away from Credit Karma... or pray that you never have to use their Customer Support. It is without a doubt the worst I have ever experienced.

It uses only things you would know the answer to, to verify your identity. It gives you your credit report too so you can see what fraudulent things may be on your report. If you find anything wrong in your credit report you can submit a dispute and they will investigate it for you and send the results when done. I have not come across any cost using credit karma.
