This week I ordered flowers for a funeral. They were to arrive on Thursday 5/21/26 before 7 pm. I tracked the order all day and even contacted the company for help which was a major waste of time. They are impossible to reach. I found out this morning that the flowers were delivered at midnight! In addition, the flowers I chose from the website were not remotely like the arrangement that was delivered. They were tired, dropping and old looking. You can compare the one I bought, with the one's delivered in the photos. Sadly, because I was in a hurry, I only did a shallow dive into Ava's reviews. The first one I came across gave it glowing remarks. It was only after the shipment was unaccounted for that I did more digging and was horrified to see that this company has some of the worst reviews I've ever read.

This website is a complete scam! I placed an order that was shown as delivered. It was never received! I tried to reach the someone about the problem and there is no way to get through to customer service. Says they will return your call however they did not. Also the chat option is no help either, keeps asking questions that are completely irrelevant and gets you nowhere! TOTAL FRAUD.

Ordered flowers for 93 yr old mom in nursing home. On Mother's Day was emailed that they couldn't deliver. Emailed me that I was refunded 5/12 but I have not received my refund. When I call customer service they register my call to be called and and when I get a call back it disconnects. (I have called 17 times). When I submit a ticket online with customer service I get an error message to try again later. $89 is not a fortune, it's the integrity issue with this company that bothers me. THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM.

If I could I would give a zero point value. What a joke of a company. You purchase the flowers only for them to take 3 hours. Then we it states it out for delivery they postpone the flowers for tomorrow. When they state they delivier up to 7pm. Why are you postponing it at 3pm then. Why take my order if you knew that there was supposedly a lot of orders needing delivery. You have got to be kidding me. A bunch of scam artists. They also don't tell you when you purchase the flowers that if you cancel the order they still get the payment. To which you only find out when you are cancelling the order I should have looked at the reviews prior to the purchase because they seem to scam a lot of others as well.

This rating is about "communication" with Avas more that it is about their flowers. Mainly because the flowers I ordered never showed up at the Convent and the customer service ticket is still open (4 days after "delivery"). Here are my lessons learned:

"Same day delivery" and "flexible delivery" are contradictory. I had the online order form filled out and in my basket on Wednesday 4 days before need-by delivery date. However, the wake was on Sunday which was listed as "flexible delivery" so I called their customer service to ask what day to request on time delivery. Over my repeated objections, the voice on the line collected all the data I had already filled in and insisted he place the order so I could get his personal discount ($1 savings and 30 min time wasted) And I suspect my specific delivery instructions to the Convent were lost despite repeating them to him twice. I agreed to a Saturday delivery because he didn't think Ava delivered on Sunday. (Maybe change "flexible" to "no".)

Delivery snafu: On Sunday morning I saw a delivery notice from Avas with a photo of a bouquet of flowers sitting on the pavement in 80 degree heat in front of an unknown door. I immediately notified Avas of delivery to wrong address and got a reply that a ticket would be opened and I would hear back.

No ticket resolution: It wasn't until Tues, the day after the funeral, that I got copious messages from "Eva's" local number--each one giving me a call-back 800 number which, when used, gave me a new number, which informed me that the agent has changed. Round and round I go. I also got a message that a replacement order was out for delivery AFTER the funeral!

Anyway, I messaged the sisters the photo and they recognized the doorway as a Pathology building which is closed on weekends. Who leaves living flowers outside in full sun in front of an empty building? Waiting for a full refund....

My daughter-in-law ordered a "premium bouquet" for me for Mother's Day. The order was processed by a Hy-Vee Grocery store in Bloomington, IL which is in McLean County. I took some photos and texted her and the family so she could see. She was livid. The bouquet she ordered was "premium" for $100 and Mother's Day orders had free delivery - supposedly. These looked like they came from a waste basket and were arranged by one who obviously has no talent!

The flowers were wilted, one of this and one of that, roses that were on their last half-day with the outer petals flopping over. The store tried to say they were okay and all I needed to do is take those petals off!! They explained the bouquet was "designers choice" even though she ordered something entirely different. ($100) She could not contact Avas and apparently someone - either them or the store is disputing her refund. I took the mess back to the store as soon as I learned they were not what she ordered and were OLD.

I ordered a birthday bouquet for my mom. It was SUPPOSED to be purple daisies, purple roses with a couple of pops of dark green, unique greenery. What arrived was mostly white daisies and basic greenery with a few purple roses with brown edges....poorly arranged.... and a random, single lily. My mother does not like lilies and is terminally ill. That Lily is in bad taste. Horrible rip-off. Called. Was told Avas would call back. Nope. Shame on you.

I should have read the reviews for this florist, who is only a few blocks away from where the flowers were to be delivered. Despite ordering two days ahead of time, receiving a confirmation for delivery date, the flowers were never delivered. There was no answer at their shop (on a Saturday) and Sunday, they were closed. They absolutely ruined my Mother's Day by not delivering these flowers when they said they would. These people should clearly close shop and go into another profession, but somehow I think they'd fail at that, too. Stay away!

The order arrived late with substitutions that I could have bought at the grocery store. They did not include a stick with the card attached. The customer service is terrible! The website and system they have keeps you in a loop without every getting through to an actual person. When they call back, they slide right into voicemail, bypassing the customer altogether. This is intentional! This business is a scam and I deeply regret ever giving them my business.

I placed an order for my daughter’s birthday and paid extra for the large arrangement with balloons. Around 2 PM, I started getting nervous that the order would not arrive before she left work at 4 PM, so I called the 888 customer service number. Unfortunately, there was no way to speak to an actual person — only automated messages that kept repeating and didn’t match what I was trying to do. The only options were to reschedule or cancel the order, when all I wanted was confirmation that it would be delivered on time.

I then tried the website, but it was the same experience through the chat feature. It just sent me in circles with no way to contact a real person for help. The arrangement did eventually arrive, but it was not what I paid for or expected based on the order I placed. No balloons, different vase no birthday swag. Between the poor customer service experience and the incorrect arrangement, this was very disappointing for an important birthday delivery.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY. Avas Flowers is not actually a florist. They take orders then farm them out to actual florists charging the customer a special fee to ensure the order is filled correctly. I wish I had read these reviews prior to ordering for a family member out of town. We requested the flowers be delivered on Mother's Day. We told that was not a problem.

My mother-in-law did not receive them on Sunday. My husband received a message from them on Monday that they were not delivered. He exchanged several phone calls with them and never received a call back to address the issue. My mother-in-law let my husband know she did receive the flowers on Monday from a Bill's Florist. Who are they? That's not who we ordered from. Bill received the order as if it was from us. They are scam company. They will tell you they are local from where you need the flowers delivered but I've been told they are actually out of New Jersey. The BBB needs to shut them down. I ordered for a mini rose plant to be delivered to my mother-in-law‘s PO Box. They told me they can deliver to PO Box. When the flowers are finally delivered to PO Box, the driver didn’t know the PO Box number, or the name of person who deliver to the driver, then decided to put the flowers outside of the post office beside the trash can and send the picture to me to say that they had been delivered. I had my mother-in-law go to the post office to get the flowers from outside beside the trash can, and the post office told her that the flower person took them back, oh and they weren’t mini rose plant. It was just a regular flower bouquet and I paid $76 for it.

Extremely disappointed with my experience ordering Mother's Day flowers from this company. One order was cancelled the day after Mother's Day due to "high demand", which honestly should have been communicated much sooner. The second order, scheduled delivery between 5/9/26 and 5/11/26, was never delivered at all and I received zero communication or updates on this. By 5/13/26 I went it to check the status myself and had to request a cancellation. I completely understand holidays are busy, but the lack of communication, follow-through, and consideration for customers was incredibly frustrating, especially for orders tied to Mother's Day. I will not be ordering from here again, and I'd recommend other people don't as well.

Then the order was 4 days late with zero communication on my end. Kept saying order was scheduled on time. Finally arrived the next week with zero outreach from store and was a tiny orchid bloom for $80!!!!

Opened a “customer service ticket” and got another automated email saying they would call me and they have not even though I’ve responded and reached out to them daily for a week. NOTHING. What a terrible service! Never delivered Mother’s Day flowers to my 77 year old sick mother and then gaslit me for 2 days saying that they confirmed that the flowers were already delivered! Finally after 2 days, they admitted to an issue that cause a problem with delivery, but ‘rest assured’ they would deliver them as quickly as possible. (Nevermind Mother’s Day was already well over.)

Now, after a half dozen calls and even more emails, I am told that unfortunately they couldn’t deliver the order and would be happy to refund my order. Seriously?! How does a company survive in today’s world - especially in this kind of business - with zero ethics and not just lying to customer, but basically calling them liars! Should have read even a single review and I would have not done business in the first place. Nevermind a ‘Free Delivery’ coupon, but adding a ‘convenience’ fee of $29.99 when I was on the last page of checkout and writing a long card. Ugh. Plenty of opportunity in the flower business if a scam like this can stay in business.

I am beyond disgusted with my experience with Avas Flowers. I specifically ordered flowers for Mother’s Day and selected a delivery window that clearly implied delivery by May 9th or May 10th. Mother’s Day came and went — and nothing was delivered. When I attempted to contact customer service, it took OVER NINE HOURS just to receive a callback. And when someone finally did contact me, the representative had absolutely no additional information, no explanation, and could not offer a single option for making the situation right. No redelivery. No replacement arrangement. No meaningful apology. Nothing. Instead, I received vague automated responses hiding behind “holiday flex delivery” language that was never clearly disclosed during checkout. Then, late last night — after Mother’s Day had already passed — I finally received an email from Avas Flowers stating that the order had simply been CANCELLED.

    No delivery.
    No replacement.
No attempt to recover the situation.

Just cancelled after the holiday was already ruined.

What makes this even worse is the deceptive way Avas presents itself online. The website gives the impression that you are ordering from a trusted local florist, when in reality it appears to operate more like a nationwide broker funneling orders through whoever they can find. The result? Inflated prices, poor service, zero transparency, and ruined special occasions. As a disabled veteran trying to send flowers to my stepmother for Mother’s Day, this was incredibly disappointing and honestly embarrassing. Companies handling emotional, time-sensitive occasions should understand that these orders actually matter to people. After researching further, I discovered this is far from an isolated issue. Complaint after complaint describes the exact same problems: misleading advertising, late or missing deliveries, bait-and-switch arrangements, impossible customer service, and refund runarounds.

Consumers deserve to know what they are actually buying before spending premium holiday pricing on a company that appears completely unable — or unwilling — to deliver what was promised. I have now filed complaints with the BBB, the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, and the FTC. Avoid this company.

☆☆☆☆ – Absolutely Disgusting Experience During a Time of Grief. I honestly do not even know where to begin with how disappointed and frustrated I am with this company. I placed an order on Saturday for a Sunday delivery because I was trying to do something thoughtful for a coworker and his family after they suffered the heartbreaking loss of their grandson. This was not some random occasion or late birthday gift — this was for a grieving family during one of the hardest moments of their lives.

I specifically paid and placed the order in advance so the flowers and fruit basket would arrive on time and show support to the family when it mattered most. After placing the order, I was later notified that the delivery was delayed until Monday. While I was already upset because timing matters in situations like this, I tried to remain patient and understanding. Things happen sometimes, and I figured at least the order would still arrive the next day.

Then Monday comes around and instead of receiving a confirmation that the flowers were delivered, I get an email saying the entire order was CANCELLED and my credit card would be refunded. No real explanation. No attempt to make it right. No effort to prioritize the order. Just cancelled. So now not only did this company fail to deliver something important during a sensitive time, but they also left me scrambling at the last minute trying to find another florist that could help me. I had to go through the entire ordering process all over again with another company and now the soonest delivery I could get is Wednesday — days after the original date I needed. Completely unacceptable.

What makes this even worse is that sympathy arrangements are time sensitive. When someone loses a loved one, especially a child or grandchild, those first few days matter. That is when support matters most. This company failed at the one thing they advertise themselves for — delivering flowers when people need them. I understand delays can happen around holidays or busy weekends, but cancelling an order after already delaying it is beyond unprofessional. If you cannot fulfill orders, then stop accepting them in the first place. Don’t take people’s money, give false expectations, and then back out after it’s too late for them to make other arrangements easily.

This experience caused unnecessary stress during an already emotional situation. I will never order from this company again and I strongly recommend others think twice before trusting them with important occasions, especially sympathy deliveries where timing and reliability actually matter. There are plenty of other florists and flower delivery companies out there that actually care about customer service and follow through on their commitments. Terrible communication. Terrible reliability. Terrible experience overall. Avoid at all costs.
