Volvo recalls model year 2019 Volvo XC60 hybrid electric vehicles

The charging system may deliver a shock

Volvo Car USA is recalling 35 model year 2019 Volvo XC60 hybrid electric vehicles, equipped with certain AeroVironment electric vehicle TurboCord and TurboDock/TurboDX charging systems.

Capacitors within these charging systems may fail, possibly resulting in a shock hazard or a fire, posing a the risk of injury or death.

What to do

Volvo will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the charge cord, replacing it as necessary, free of charge. Owners should not use the charging cord until it is inspected.

The recall is expected to begin November 5, 2018.
