And they had a minimum weight, which made no sense to me. So I decided to go with Van Lines because the salesperson said that it was a cubic-foot situation. But it turned out to be more money. It doesn't matter. It worked out better for me, cost-wise, and it seemed like a more logical way to do it than a weight option, which I had no control over. This, I had control over because I could limit how many boxes. They had a minimum weight and I didn't have that kind of weight involved.

The movers were supposed to be here between 8:00 and 12:00 on the day of the move. They got here at 1:30 and did not finish packing me out till 3:30 in the morning. There were two of them to move my house. They were fast, but there were not enough of them. The thing that surprised me was I had a stackable full-size washer-dryer and they wrapped that thing together and carried it out on top of each other.

Initially the van was late. There was a strong sweet odor when the movers opened the door to the van which made me suspicious that drugs were involved. There was damage to my console. The base and the frame were damaged. They were bent. The wooden frame on my bed, had multiple chips. The handle on the chest of drawers was damaged and a small linen chest had a chip. The movers left litter on my lawn; plastic bottles, wrapping and unused items. Needless to say, I was not pleased.

Please make sure if this is the first time you are moving long distance, in my case 4 hrs away, you ask if they can deliver the same day, they don't make you aware that they won't deliver the same day.

We decided to hire a moving company because we have a huge, expensive bed, so there was no way to sell it. The lady who called me from Van Lines was very welcoming and super nice. She called me via Facetime, then I showed everything I had in my house that I would take. It was very easy and it took no more than 20 minutes. Everything was very smooth. The move was perfect as well. The movers did everything. I didn't have some boxes, and the guy found some and didn't charge me for them. I have nothing to complain about because it was very nice. We had a miscommunication with the delivery date, but that wasn't a major thing. My experience was very good overall.
