    Heavy furniture and many stairs were part of my relocation, but the crew handled everything easily. To make it look simple; they used dollies and harnesses. Before I could load my bookshelf, Smith found a loose screw and tightened it for me. I love his cute helping gesture.

    At least for long distances, I would NOT use this company. I believe they must only have decent reviews due to their local moves. But check consumer affairs and other websites regarding them! Wish I had done more thorough research. I asked their rep Joseph S. several times, what’s the longest timeframe for receiving my things, and they he kept saying 7- 14, “rarely but 21 days at most. I moved from TX to OR. They're deceiving by acting as if they offer you “30 days storage” as if it’s an option. Not telling you that your things will be gone for at least 30 days according to their deceptive contract and practices. They also tell you that they don't contract with anyone else and only use their professional movers (more to come on this).

    They picked up my things 8/4. I didn’t see my things until 9/21. I called and called and no answer. When they would finally answer, the woman in the most unempathetic tone basically said “stop calling, we will call you when were ready to deliver. We have 30 days from the date you said you’re available.” I was flabbergasted. So now, not just 2-3 weeks from pick up, but from 8/11 when I said id be in OR to receive my things. I was paying for hotels, airbnbs and eventually a new empty place. I had to go buy a ton of temporary things to live, not to mention I was starting my new job with barely any of my clothes.

    I was expecting according to the very rude woman that I would then be getting my things by 9/11. Nope. Called and called for days, no answer. They finally called me back and rudely told me again “my supervisor talked to you before and told you that we would call you 24 -48 when we load your things and it's on the way. AND, we don't deliver on weekends.” So now I also need to miss work for whenever they decide to show up. Cool.

    So I finally got a text message that weekend (now days beyond their own deadline), “we will be loading your things this weekend. It will come within 5-8days.” 9/18 no word from them. I texted again, “were my things loaded and are they on the way?” No answer. 9/20 I get a call from the guy saying they’re a day or 2 away. Here's the next kicker! “Give me your address so that I can confirm that we can fit our 18 wheeler on your street.” Now what neighborhood would you EVER be able to fit one? So they charged me an additional $650! He said he would need to move my things onto another truck to bring it.

    They showed up in 39.99 Uhaul with my stuff and other peoples. And remember they only have their own professional movers come? Well he hired some local random young guys (very kind individuals) but very little experience. They showed up following the uhaul in their car and everyone reeking like weed. Which is their business on their own dime/time, and not mine. Knicking walls, and not knowing how to carry things. I had to advise them so that my things didn't get broken. I'm filing a claim now to receive my measly $25 a day over the contract date that they didn't deliver. I filed the claim and they denied this as well. Offering $100. Moral of the story: nothing can be more stressful than not knowing if you'll ever see your whole house again. Do your research beyond google reviews and apparently don't trust @forbes list. Previously I got a pod, they always deliver on time and I hired local movers. I will always go that route in the future.

    Mayzlin Relocation arrived promptly and ready to work. Since our things had been in storage for over three years while we were in Europe, we had forgotten exactly what was inside. Our furniture and other items were safely transported, and they were delivered to our new residence. The work of weighing the package took longer than expected, but it was completed in the end.

    I hired Mayzlin relocation to move my belongings from Red lodge, Montana to Seattle, Washington. My initial conversation with the agent on the phone gave me a good impression and his quote was below that of some of the other competitors I had researched. On the day of my move a small truck came to my residence and the three men started packing my belongings. They were friendly and did it decent job at packing and protecting what I had in the house. Unfortunately, the furniture that I had had to remove in order to stage my home for selling was in a different location on my property. The company did not have enough blankets or additional tape to protect those items. But they handled what I had with a decent amount of care. They wanted me to pay, so I brought out my card. They didn’t take cards. I offered to pay by check, but they didn’t take checks. They wanted a cashiers check.

    It was a Sunday and I could not go to my bank. So they wanted me to pay them through a money app. In the end, we thought it had been figured out and they were on their way. I was happy and thought they would be driving my furniture to the storage facility in Seattle that I had rented. I left the house when they left and took to the road to Seattle. On my way I got a phone call from a truck driver telling me that they had not received payment and that they had had to transfer my furniture and all my belongings from the small truck to a larger truck to make the trip. Additionally, they had researched the location of the storage unit and would not be able to deliver my goods to the storage unit because their truck was too large. I was told that they would have to unload my furniture and reload it to another smaller truck and that it would cost me an extra thousand dollars.

    I contacted their customer service and was told I should have read the fine print and I’d have to pay if I wanted my furniture. I literally got a thick ream of papers THE DAY the movers arrived… I had had no chance to read before they were packed and gone. I was furious. As it was, I had had to pay $3000 more than what I was quoted. No one had told me about this potential issue. Let this be a warning to future customers. I arrived in Seattle and immediately researched how to properly pay this company. I didn’t want my belongings hijacked. Within two days my furniture arrived at my storage unit. One man hired two local guys to help him unload and pack my storage unit. I sat in my car as I watch them handle my furniture and boxes.

    By the time I got my belongings, they had been loaded and unloaded six times and the cost had gone from $9k to 13k. In the next couple of days, I went to the storage unit to retrieve some of the items I needed. That’s when I uncovered some of the damage that had been done to my belongings. Antique furniture had been dismantled and not properly protected, showing damage to the wood; an entire box of heirloom Limoge porcelain dishes was crushed, dressers had missing handles and casters, my new expensive mattress had been dragged through some dirty black stuff; the top to my antique chest had been ripped off one of the hinges.

    As I am still waiting to sell my Montana home to be able to purchase one in the Pacific NW, I have not yet been able to empty my storage unit and I am sure more damage will be uncovered. This company cares about getting their money, but customer care, good communication and proper handling of the belongings entrusted in them is seriously lacking. I would never recommend this company.

    Mayzlin Relocation was great! On time for my 8am move - I needed 6 movers and 2 trucks which was exactly right. These guys hustled, while 2 wrapped my upholstered furniture in protective plastic, the other four were up and down the stairs loading all my boxes into the trucks. Great service, painstaking, civil, and skillful. Best movers I've used. I've already recommended them to 2 friends who were equally impressed and totally satisfied.

    The staff made our 42-year-old property move-out day fun. We had a tight relocation schedule, yet the Mayzlin Relocation crew loaded our entire house—102 boxes—in time. Paul and his friend were very cooperative and helped us donate a few items, although the donation center was not on our way. They went the extra mile to satisfy us. I love their hard work and further assistance to please us.

    Before I paid, communication was excellent. After I paid, it completely disappeared. I called for an update yesterday (01/25/25)and received none. I called again today (01/26/25), only to be told, “You called yesterday. There are no updates, and we’ll call you when there is.” That’s unacceptable. I have medication in one of the boxes, which was accidentally packed in the wrong one that’s on me. However, I have an AirTag in the box, and it hasn’t moved in nine days. How is my shipment supposed to arrive within the promised 7 to 10 days when it hasn’t even left the initial location? (They picked up 01/14/2025.)

    This entire process has been beyond frustrating. I could’ve gone with another service, but I chose this company because I spoke with a representative who assured me they could deliver within the timeframe. I even explained that my previous carrier wouldn’t be available until the 26th, and they guaranteed they could deliver faster yet here we are.

    Update: After an entire month of waiting, my items were finally delivered on the 11th of February far beyond the promised timeframe. And yet, the nightmare didn’t end there.

    • As the delivery worker moved my elliptical off the truck, he broke it right in front of me.
    • My TV stand arrived broken.

    • When I carried my TV upstairs, I noticed the box was caved in, and the screen was completely shattered.

    I pointed this out immediately, and the response? “Call customer service.” So I did. Now, I’m stuck in a claims queue, currently at number 202 I started at 278 and it can take up to 90 days just for an update. To make matters worse, they charge $75 per flight of stairs and have the nerve to define a flight as just seven stairs.

    Final Thoughts: This was, without a doubt, the worst moving experience I’ve ever had. Not only was I blatantly lied to about the timeframe, but my belongings arrived damaged or completely broken. This company made big promises to get my business and then delivered nothing but delays, damage, and disappointment. Would I ever recommend this company? Absolutely not.

    Update: On March 24, 2025, I was informed that my claim for my damaged TV was denied because I had packed the TV myself. However, I followed the company’s instructions precisely—I purchased the recommended TV box and used foam and bubble wrap for protection. Upon delivery, the mover caused additional damage by putting a hole in my wall with a mechanical dolly. The TV box itself was bent, as if it had been struck by the corner of another box, indicating that the damage occurred due to mishandling during transport. Regardless of who packed the TV, it is evident that the damage was caused by the careless handling of my belongings. Overall, this has been an extremely disappointing experience. The company’s lack of care and accountability, along with the excessive charges, made this the worst moving experience I have ever had.

    The move went off without a hitch! They were true experts in their field. A large, gleaming truck that looked as good as new upon their arrival. Their friendliness and willingness to communicate while they worked greatly reduced the stress of the whole process.     We’ve been working with Mayzlin since November. We moved from Montana to Maryland and initially they were very awesome but we were supposed to move into our new home January 1st, so yesterday. Come to find out our stuff is in their storage in Idaho Falls. We are in Maryland. We confirmed for dispatch on December 6th via text for move in January 2nd. We’ve called the Florida customer service several times and have been met with “Michelle” every time who has been exceptionally rude and downright vulgar. She argues with my fiancé and when I got involved she said she won’t speak to me and when I called her out on it she called me dumb. She won’t provide any update on our stuff and cuts us off anytime we try to explain anything.

    We are now also somehow responsible for a $400 storage fee because the free 30 days ended on December 15th yet we confirmed for dispatch on the 6th meaning our stuff should’ve been on the way, not in storage. There was zero communication from Mayzlin we only found this out because we got our house keys sooner and wanted to move in a few days early. Come to find out we might not be seeing it till February. Michelle claims they are not in breech of contract but they are and the texts prove it.

    We verified dispatch on the 6th of December so 30 days from then is when delivery should happen NOT 30 days from January 2nd when we said we would be moving in. Because where does it make sense to deliver AFTER someone says they need to be moved in BY the 2nd? We have a 1 year old we cannot live without furniture and his necessary things. This has been SO unprofessional and the worst experience I have ever everrrrrr had with a moving company. I have filed a complaint with the BBB since they are accredited and I also have been in touch with the Attorney General of North Carolina. Do not work with this company.

    Recommendations for Future Customers: If you decide on Mayzlin, we recommend:

    -Listing every item carefully with the salesperson and double-checking the estimate for accuracy. It’s also wise to overestimate the number of boxes.
    -Using sturdy boxes and ample bubble wrap for fragile items since there may be multiple truck transfers and that can be rough on boxes.

    -Preparing for a potentially long wait for delivery and, if possible, budgeting for a dedicated truck or expedited service.

    Some pros and cons:

    Pros: The salesperson was friendly, patient, and well-informed, answering all our questions upfront. On moving day, the movers were strong, efficient, and worked hard to keep things moving quickly, and were very personable and upbeat.

    Cons: Several issues complicated our experience. First, the initial estimate was surprisingly low due to some missed items, and a later review by a QA specialist raised our cost by $1,700 due to an increase in cubic footage. This was a shock, especially close to the move date.

    The payment process was also challenging. Mayzlin only accepts cash, USPS money orders, or Zelle—not credit or debit cards or checks. We tried Zelle, but ran into numerous complications, with our bank reporting issues with Mayzlin's bank credentials. This led to some frustration back-and-forth with no resolution. There were also fees we were hoping wouldn't apply, like a $638 shuttle fee because our items were loaded onto a 65' semi-truck, requiring a transfer to a smaller truck for final delivery. Also a $75 "long-haul" fee because our apartment was 75 feet from the building entrance, up one flight of stairs.

    Delivery took 10 days, with an additional one-day delay due to technical difficulties. When the movers arrived, our final bank check took extra time and hassle to process. They forgot to unwrap a few items and even forgot one of their moving blankets. Then, later that day, we received a text that they had forgotten one box, which they returned about an hour later along with an additional item that wasn’t ours. Despite our follow-up text, we received no response and ultimately had to donate or discard the extra item. Lastly, a few items were damaged: a glass vase’s top was broken, a ceramic dish was shattered, and one piece of furniture sustained minor damage. In hindsight, American Van Lines quoted us about $1,000 less for similar services, including the shuttle fee and dedicated truck.

    I was concerned about glasses that would break easily and be hard to find new. Mayzlin Relocation saved the day when I needed a moving company that knew how to handle my fragile things with care. They were extremely careful and friendly, and they took great care of all of my worries and things. I think they're great for moving without a lot of trouble.

    I am beginning like many other reviews here... they make a good 1st impression. I will even add by saying they make an outstanding 1st impression, but it quickly went downhill after that. I specifically asked (multiple times) for them to come either on Thursday or Friday. Instead, I was called and told they would be coming Wednesday, which caused a series of chaotic events, including having to pay an extra day in rent. When I tried to explain everything to the woman on the phone, she told me, "Well we can just cancel the pick-up then!" in a very rude and condescending tone. There was nothing I could do and they knew it. Then after telling me, they would there between 10AM-1PM, they did not show up until 6PM. So, I had been forced to pay extra on rent that didn't need to happen.

    They nit-picked how every box was packed (I know how to pack a box, by the way) and then repacked many items. Of course, doing that meant more cost to me. Then they took items apart that didn't need to be taking apart, causing the cost to go up more. By the end of the evening (they didn't finish until well after 10PM) I had incurred an additional $1600+. Stressed, tired and overwhelmed, they gave me a "break" and took about $200 off. Wow!

    The drop off was even worse. They took the full 7 business days to bring me my items, even though I was told by THEIR sales guys that they never take the full 7 days to drop things off for the distance of my move. When they began unloading, one guy was super great, asking where we wanted each item as they came in. I had clearly labeled every box so they would know which room to put things, but the 2nd guy just dumped everything in the 1st room he came to, even after we asked him to bring the boxes to the room specified on the box. Almost every box they brought in was COVERED and I mean totally covered in dirt. At least half the industrial plastic bins were broken or severely cracked, and everything was a mess. And then, the same guy who would not put things where we asked actually had the nerve to ask for a better tip than $20. Seriously???

    As we have unwrapped everything, we have found that every article of clothing has a horrible smell and we've had to rewash it all. Many items are scratched or cracked, and we have had to reassemble things that should never have been taken apart. This company had the least expensive prices, but in this case, you get what you pay for. Buyer beware!

    Someone needs to take legal action to shut down this company. I recently moved from Fort Mill, SC to San Antonio, TX, and had the unfortunate experience of dealing with one of their sales reps, Michael **. He’s skilled at securing the sale but disappears once the deal is done. I faced several issues with this company: They promised to pick up our belongings two days before our departure from Fort Mill but showed up two days earlier, completely disrupting our schedule. During pick-up, they confirmed a delivery date of September 3rd but ended up delivering two weeks later. When the items finally arrived, many were damaged:

    1) The king-size bed frame was missing legs, the headboard, and footboard.
    2) The shoe rack had a broken leg.
    3) My yoga mat was torn.
    4) The office chair was missing a limb, causing me to fall when I tried to sit and lean back, resulting in minor injuries.

    5) The bookshelf was broken.

    Other issues include: Once the sale is made, you're forced to deal with customer service for everything. Reaching them is nearly impossible – it took at least 10 calls just to get connected. It's by far the worst customer service I've ever encountered. The company is entirely focused on money, with zero regard for the customer. They refused to begin delivering my items until I paid the final installment. They even threatened to store my belongings and charge me storage fees if I didn’t make the payment. The delivery team was in a rush to get my signature on the delivery paperwork, even before completing the job.

    They outsource their claims process to a third-party company called **. Once delivery is complete, Mayzlin becomes unresponsive, and you're left to deal with this additional company, which has terrible reviews. I registered on their portal, only to find out my account won’t even be activated for 48 hours. This company shows no consideration for the customer’s needs. When they’re ready for pick-up, you must be available, but after that, you're left waiting indefinitely for them to deliver at their convenience. Overall, I would never recommend this terrible company for relocation. It's a nightmare from start to finish. Last but not the least, DO NOT believe in their positive reviews.     Let me start by saying “Shame on AARP for recommending this company.” Based on their recommendation, we looked into using this company for a move from Ohio to Missouri. We were moving in April or May of 2024, and we started looking into moving companies in October 2023. It was November 2023 when we signed a contract with Mayzlin.

    During our conversation with their representative Nick, we asked numerous questions regarding certain situations and what the company would cover in case of damage. We asked what services would be done at the time of the move, such as servicing the washer/dryer. He assured us that any damage, whether we packed the box or they packed the box would be covered. (It was not.) He said it could possibly cut the cost if we wanted to pack up boxes ahead of the team coming to pack us. He also told us that they were handle the washer/dryer at the time of the move. (The packing team said they did not do it.) Sadly, he was lying through his teeth. No one could be mistaken on the number of issues that came to light at the time of the move.

    The biggest falsehood that he said was that the cost would never be higher than his estimate, and if we sold any big items or cleaned out things, it could possibly go down. Two weeks before the move, an auditor called to see what needed to be moved. The cost of the move went up by almost $2,000! Nick said, “I’ve never been that far off on an estimate.” FRAUD at its worst! They offered to let us out of the contract knowing that they had us over the barrel since we were coming up on the date of the move. In the end, we paid $1,800 MORE than the estimate.

    As far as the move itself, we felt the packing crew was decent until we started unpacking. They did a great job packing up the dining room and kitchen items, but for quite a bit of the house, they used wardrobe boxes and piled things in. As we were unpacking, a few things came up missing. When we called to see if any boxes could possibly be left in the warehouse (we had to store things for 10 days), their reply was to put in the claim. It did not appear that anyone ever checked the warehouse.

    We have moved a number of times, and this was by far the worst for damage. The first thing off the truck was a kitchen table. The leg was cracked at the top by the tabletop. We had a coffee table that had a broken leg and a cracked board running the length of it. It appeared something heavy had been put on top of it. A metal floor lamp came in with the top sagging to the side and missing a base. Our glide rocker spindles are all cracked. A five foot wooden plant stand was in pieces. These are just a few of the items damaged. Add to these broken things the scratches and dings that were put in our wooden furniture pieces such as our entertainment center and dining room hutch, we were not happy with the results of this move.

    I submitted the claims as requested, and the result was a joke! They offered minimal coverage, and on the items they did cover, they did not accept my weight estimates. They took their “industry standards” instead of the ones I found online. If the damage did not change the functionality of the item, they would only allow 20% of the weight allowance cutting the claim down to nothing. None of the items packed by us were covered (as I said above, Nick lied repeatedly). The missing items had to be noted at the time of delivery; therefore, each one of them was declined. As for the wood tables, they declined them both as “movement of wood furniture will sometimes produce damage, particularly if the item is old.” The other reason given on the coffee table was that when the wood dries, it shrinks, and then it absorbs moisture and swells leading to cracks. What the heck?! As I said, RUN, RUN away from Mayzlin. They lead you to believe they are a reputable company, but in our experience, they are anything but.

    **DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY**BUYER BEWARE.** I've reported them to the NC Attorney General. Their office has forwarded my complaint to 2 additional boards, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the NC Utilities Commission, to investigate their deception. As a result of their deceptive business practices, I've started a Facebook group ** and an email buyerbeware.mayzlinrelocation@gmail.com to bring together anyone interested in being co-plaintiffs against them. No one should be able to take advantage of people the way they are, so please connect if you want to join me in pursuing justice against this company.

    Our Experience with Their Lies: This company's dishonest business practices are set up to prevent you from canceling their services, defrauding you of your money, and then holding your belongings hostage. I have never received such dishonesty from a company, and I regret ever having contracted with them. They promised so much and delivered none of it. They promised us that even though it says up to 30 days because our kids are special needs, they "would keep pace with us during our drive cross-country" and "our drivers are really good at accommodating families like yours" - false claims they have not followed through with. We last heard from them 2 weeks ago that "the route is being planned out and will be on the way." We were fed a whole bunch of lies.

    From the jump, they don't tell you that they don't set up the actual pick-up or drop-off dates until dispatch sets it up. So when you finally hear from them with the non-preferred date, it's 2 days past your cancellation date to get a refund. And that's when they tell you that the salespeople sometimes overpromise but it's really 2 weeks to 30 days. After they pack your things on the truck, they have you sign paperwork that states it's 30 BUSINESS days. We were driving across the country and needed them to come on the 1st, but they couldn't arrive on that date but could arrive on the morning of the 2nd. Needless to say, the timing was off for pick-up, but our friends pulled through for us, and they stayed at the house to meet the team of movers. Mayzlin showed up 4.5 hours after the original time they promised to arrive and there wasn't enough space in the truck for all of our belongings, so.

    At this point, I'm convinced their salespeople are con artists and that they have taken thousands of our dollars along with our things and have now ghosted us. This week (2.5 weeks after the route was being planned and more than a month after picking up our belongings) we heard yesterday that it will be another 10-14 days and $150 credit to our account. Bad business practices are bad business practices, and Yelp shows a pattern of poor customer service that we missed when looking for reviews - it appears they book their business based solely on deception and platitudes.

    I'll try to keep this as brief as possible, but the process after the sale was about as bad as one could imagine. Sales was great, explained Mayzlin's philosophy and how they are different, and the Sales guy (Mike) promised to be right there all along the way - even texted me his contact information and told me to let him know if I had any issues.

    Fast forward to move time... I was told that it would be between 2 and 7 business days for our belongings to go from Kentucky to Florida. Once our items were picked up, absolutely no communications or updates. Customer service number went to voicemail most of the time, and when someone did answer I was simply told they did not have an update. After a while they would scold me for calling, telling me that I had called two days earlier and told I would receive a call when an update was available (note: NO ONE EVER CALLED - not even to tell me when items would be delivered). I was even told that they legally had 30 days, so basically quit bugging them. If I thought Mayzlin was like every other moving company and would revert to legalities, I would not have picked them - they were supposed to be better.

    Mike (Sales), who claimed he would be there for any issues throughout the entire process, was nowhere to be found. Texted, called, left messages, called customer service and asked to have him call me, eventually asked for his supervisor - NOTHING. Never head from him again. Items were finally delivered on the 28th day, and the only time Mayzlin was responsive was when it came to collect payment, making it very clear they would not unload one item until payment was made in full. Keep in mind they never called to tell me when things were being delivered - I found out the truck was on its way during one of my inquiries. Driver called less than 24 hours before he was coming and told me to make full payment by 9:00 am the next morning or he would be unable to unload, and I would be charged a hold fee.

    Now for unload day! At 9:00 am random people started showing up at my door saying "I'm here!" They had no idea what was going on, and neither did I. After a few minutes of trying to figure out what was going on, we figured out that Mayzlin had placed a Craig's List advertisement for people to unload the truck. I hired experienced movers for a reason, and Mayzlin went and hired random local people, who had no moving experience, to unload all of our belongings! If I had wanted strangers with no experience to unload the truck, I could have handled this entire process on my own and saved a lot of money! I expected a professional moving company to hire professionals.

    When the truck was unloaded, the hired help (with no connection to Maylin) starting letting me know that the truck was loaded pretty bad - fragile items on the bottom, heavy items on top of light or fragile items, and seemed to be several things damaged. A dining room chair was crushed to the point that the two front legs were completely snapped off, a dresser top was completely cracked in half, and many boxes were completely smashed. The boxes were packed correctly - full, items bubble wrapped, etc. - but the items were handled incorrectly. Again, they hide behind the law on this one, stating their legal, limited liability, telling me to file a claim.

    Mayzlin will tell you that the late delivery (from 2-7 days to 4 weeks) was perfectly legal, broken items happen and their liability is limited, etc. They will tell you that my delivery window was actually 6-11 days because of my first available date (which is true). However, ZERO communication or updates, no returned calls, rude customer service, hiring people from Craig's list, etc., etc., etc. was unacceptable. I hired professional movers that claim to be different for a reason, and Mayzlin failed at every step of the way (except they did a good sales job).

    If you are going to claim to do moving different, have better customer service, own all your own trucks (both trucks used to load our belongings were rented), employee your own drivers and movers, and promise a delivery window during the sales cycle, then stand by those claims and BE DIFFERENT. Promises are easy to make, but evidently much harder to delivery on. One last comment - one employee actually had the nerve to tell me, "I know this is bad, but it could have been much worse."

    Do not use the company! First time using movers. Received a fair quote from a salesman and he was very nice and helpful. We were quoted a move from Dallas to Chicago 2-7 days so planned accordingly. After 21, yes 21 days, we finally received our things, broken and melted. There was absolutely NO communication from Mayzlin about our shipment. After many attempts at getting answers on where our items were, we were told they were at a holding facility until they could fill the truck with another move to Chicago. They never mentioned this when the moving arrangements were made and a deposit was made. Customer relations was so beyond unhelpful and had no answers and I finally got a manager, who was nice but unable to help. Our items finally arrived yesterday and the boxes were smashed, the bed frame is damaged and things are missing. Awful experience and terrible business model. Don't be fooled.

    Terrible experience so far. Background: We are moving about 400 miles from the Bay Area to San Diego. The salesperson assured us that this move would be super simple and that we would receive our belongings within 1 to 2 days. Pick-up: We were scheduled for a 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM pick-up window. However, the driver didn't arrive until 4:00 PM with just two workers. He then said he would return with three more workers within 90 minutes. The additional workers finally arrived around 8:30 PM. While the workers were quick and efficient, the communication from corporate has been terrible. We were on a tight schedule, and prior to pick-up, we were assured they would arrive on time. We could not get ahold of corporate at all that day and the driver said "The delay is not his problem." It is his problem when no one from his company will speak to us.

    Delivery: We are still waiting for our items. We were told to expect delivery within 1 to 2 days since it was a short drive. Although the paperwork mentioned a possible 7-day delivery, the sales person (Scott) indicated he would be shocked if it took that long - which would be today. We've made countless attempts to reach out, calling and emailing multiple times. After 20 calls, we finally spoke with someone who informed us that delivery is now estimated to take between 7 business days and 30 business days (FOR A 400-MILE MOVE). How is that a reasonable estimate? Especially when we were told 1 to 2 days to begin with.

    We are sitting in an empty house with a young baby who is running out of supplies because of this company's misrepresentation of services. Every time we try to get an update, we receive no clear answers. One customer support representative even expressed surprise at the delay, noting that she’s never seen a move take this long and was puzzled as to why our items weren't delivered straight to our house. It is absolutely insane that we’ve been waiting a week with no end in sight for such a short move.

    At this point, I'm giving them a 2/5, though realistically it's more like 1.5/5. If we get a resolution soon, I will update my review. Otherwise, I will downgrade it to 1/5. The communication from this company is abysmal, and living in an empty house with a baby is incredibly challenging. If they could clearly communicate some expectations, I wouldn't be upset, but giving us the runaround and now saying we might be waiting 30 business days is absurd. If we do not hear back shortly, we will be filing complaints with DOT and BBB.

    This experience makes me wish I got a UHaul instead of using movers. Mayzlin was: unresponsive, unhelpful, and often unprepared. There were several points during in which the organization did not know the whereabouts of my belongings. They would often not respond to emails and answered approximately one out of every ten phone calls (all within business hours). When they do answer calls, they are quick to hang up. They did not deliver my items in the time frame they laid out in my initial phone call. I have moved several times in the past few years. This move has cause me the most anxiety, exclusively due to the company's inability to communicate. I would only recommend Mayzlin if you have an extremely large window of time and you do not care about know any details throughout the process.

    This is the worst company to request to help you with moving. When you call them they will be very nice. As soon they get your money they will change 100% and service will be very bad and they promise our furnitures will deliver 1 or 2nd of July but we received it 07/18 and before that they change the story from 1st or 2nd to 14 days window. After 14 days they told me, "Oh that was estimated", and plus they don't answer the call or reply to email. Will make your life so hard if you chose this company.

    I have used professional movers before and this was NOT the experience I had with Mayzlin. I paid over $13K for a full pack and move from Minnesota to Washington state for my 1 bedroom house. When the packers arrived I was informed they had no idea where they were taking my things and that they would be offloaded at a warehouse somewhere and combined with other shipments. Ok...but what about the GPS information I was promised to follow my things from start to finish? They knew nothing about that.

    2 days later I called Mayzlin to find out where my things had been taken and was unconfidently told "Denver, CO". I again asked about GPS...and was told I would get that when it was put on the large truck. I got a call several days later that my things were being loaded and it would take approximately 4-5 days (understandable) to get to me. Again, no GPS. After being without my belongings for 10 days (ok according to contract), my things arrived. At that time, I was able to see how the packing was done. I was horrified!!!

    Most things were put into large WARDROBE boxes (they are big) and just thrown in one thing on top of the other. The majority of things were not wrapped at all...why not put a cast iron pan on top of a 100-year-old mantle clock? I truly couldn't have imagined how my things were "packed". They were not packed...they were thrown into huge boxes and shoved on a truck. Even my BUTTER DISH with BUTTER ON IT was put in, lid off, for butter to get all over everything. I had to call out special items when we itemized my belongings, and that ended up to be a total joke. So much for special handling of the wood carving of my father or the ceramic reindeer I inherited when my Mother passed away (arrived shattered).

    Those things were jammed into wardrobe boxes with tons of other things piled onto them with NO protection at all. Lamps...why put the shades in separate boxes? Just cram them into a box with other things. I am telling you... I have NEVER experienced this from a professional moving company before...and this was NOT a professional moving job. I am trying to get a partial refund for the lack of "packing" I received, but for which I paid plenty. I have also contacted the Better Business Bureau. If you value your things, select a different mover. This company should not be in business.

    Mayzlin provided us with a lower quote for a cross country move and so we chose them. The salesman was a delight to work with. When the movers came, we discovered that all of the workers spoke Russian and most did not have a good grasp of English, which made communication difficult. We ended up having to purchase a second truck because the estimated space on the truck was too small which caused the total price to soar above other quotes. The loading and unloading of the trucks caused much damage to my furniture and mostly to my very well packed antique glassware, clearly marked. I was particularly astounded as I watched the leading laborer on my second truck drop these boxes from the truck to the pavement, one atop the other as he smirked at me. It was unbelievable but the man did have quite an attitude.

    When I followed up to make a claim, I discovered that the paperwork I had signed stated that I would receive just 30 cents a pound for broken things---which for my antique lead crystal dish set was such an insult. I did not make the claim. This was over a year ago and I am still upset by my experience with Mayzlin but I choose to forgive them. I Have retained a box full of the broken glassware & china, plus the handles were entirely broken off of my Vitamix and my good toaster. I would never recommend them to anyone. There was really no excuse for the mistreatment of my belongings. Additionally, all the receipts and agreements that were signed were entirely illegible. Useless. I would never recommend them to anyone. I share just a few of the photos of broken things. I have many more!

    Do NOT use this company! While I have never left a bad review this will be my first. My husband and I moved had a long distance move for the first time and we were sold a bill of goods. First, you talk to an great salesman who convinces you it will be a direct move and that you can estimate you items over the phone. What they don’t tell you directly and instead hide in fine print is that you are WAIVING your legal right to an in person walk through for an accurate estimate and will be charged more at the time of pick-up for all your items.

    Every time I have talked with customer service they are rude and extremely unhelpful. They also tried to delay our pick-up day before ultimately cancelling someone else’s and keeping ours. We also found out that their estimated delivery days are completely wrong and that they only have to do that for legal purposes but do not have to follow them. (Told to us by customer service). Please find a more reputable company that values the customer and learn from our mistake!

    All this company does is low ball you on the price to get your business, pack up your stuff, and stick it into storage for 30 business days. The fine print of their agreement says that they have up to 30 business days to deliver your items. DO NOT believe their salespeople who will lie to you. Also, they tell you that for less than a 2,000 move, they will take 3-14 business days. Mind you, the salesperson told me it would take 3-10 days, not 3-14 business days.

    But their timeline doesn’t matter because it’s all just lies. I’m now at 20 business days for a move from Los Angeles to Minneapolis. Customer service is rude and just tells me “We haven’t gotten it from dispatch." Pay more money and hire a better company, and trust me on this advice. They picked up my stuff over one month ago (on June 27, and it is now July 25). There is absolutely no word as to when they will be here. I’ve spent so much money now on a new air mattress, new hangers, new bowls, a new vacuum, a new mop- everything for my new apartment because I've been waiting for them since July 3.

    All the padding and careful boxing could not shield the TV from the mishandling gash it received. TV gone! They ignored the Fragile sign on 2 other boxes as well that had apparently been dropped hard rendering beautiful 3 serving platters shattered into pieces. Getting an exact date for the delivery also proved to be challenging. When our preferred date came, I reached out to the office. They told me they have no idea when – it's up to dispatch and they will let us know 24 hours in advance. Meanwhile our rental was running out, we had other deliveries and work scheduled and even when it was just a few days in advance of the time we had no firm date. Additional calls just resulted in a run around until finally they told us it would be there the next day. Hallelujah!

    They came the next day, on time and the crew wanted us to pay before unloading but they didn’t have the correct contract. That caused a one-hour delay while that was sorted out. Finally, the hardworking crew began unloading. Then another issue arose. After a few hours they seemed to be winding down and there was a lot of our stuff still missing. What the office hadn’t told us yet, was that half of our stuff would be delivered on a separate truck, the next day. At this point we had moved out of our rental, and we had no bed to sleep on. What a mess!

    No boxes were lost but I highly recommend that with any mover, number all your boxes, describe what’s in them on a label and take pictures of each box in sequence and pictures of all your other items as well. That way you will know exactly, if anything, is missing. Their numbers won’t help with that. In summary – Don’t use these guys! We had a poor experience. They were unorganized, not careful with our stuff, and the office had poor communication with us.

    Our experience with Mayzlin has been truly horrible. We were assured our LARGE move ($18,000!!!) was a priority move and would be handled with care. WE ARE STILL WAITING --for WEEKS for our furniture. No one will tell us where it is or when we might receive it. We are frantic and furious and hearbroken--suspecting we will never see our items again. No one will even talk to us. I have no idea if they have lost the goods or have sold them or they intend to ransom them.

    I have begged and pleaded and tried to plea to anyone with a moral code in the company to respond. NOTHING. I have offered to pay more...ANYTHING to get the truckload of furniture. We are seniors, with major health issues and forced to sleep on the floor of our new house. CAN ANYONE HELP US. PLEASE. Desperate for information on our truckload and when we might receive. We have been taken advantage of and exploited. No doubt this company is laughing at our misery.

    Updated on 06/21/2024: UPDATE: We got a call last week on Friday that our things were being loaded onto a truck. Truck 642, and that we could track it live. Well, said truck was in Colorado for 3 days this last week. Fine, it’s taking its time….not fine. I checked the tracking this morning and the truck has mysteriously vanished from the tracker. Where could it be? We have no clue! Customer service has not called with updates AGAIN, not even to let us know if there was a breakdown.

    Mayzlin had our things in storage for 2 weeks before even thinking before even thinking of fulfilling there side of the contract. We’re now coming up on them having our things for 30 days with no clue when we will actually get them. Again DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Remember when I asked to speak to a manager? Yeah, never got a call. I seriously doubt anyone will help us from this company.

    Original Review: Mayzlin relocation has been an absolute nightmare to work with. They started off great, were very communicative and helpful. The SECOND our things were loaded onto the delivery truck they became impossible to get ahold of. We were told our earliest delivery date would be no problem, that the 4-21 day from pick up was from the day of drop off. Ok great, that’s not too bad. Or so we thought. They have since changed that statement to our first available delivery date. So now we’re going off of our delivery date NOT the pickup which was originally promised? They have now effectively pushed our delivery date back because we said we were available? How does that make any sense?

    Every person I have spoken to in their customer service department is completely clueless and rude. They have no idea what is going on. They do not know where their trucks are, they do not know a time frame for trucks to arrive. I asked to speak to a manager who might know more information, they were like “maybe they’ll get back to you, when they have time”….Excuse me?? They have made our moving process incredibly inconvenient and stressful. If you are looking to hire movers DO NOT hire Mayzlin.

    I am very frustrated about my first experience with Mayzlin. I was notified 3 days after my stuff was picked up that there is a delay and my stuff is estimated to arrive 14 days after the pick-up. This is extremely frustrating since I arranged this relocation with a deposit over a month in advance and was told by sales rep Chris ** that the trip from Massachusetts to Florida typically takes 3-5 business days. Despite the terms and conditions mentioning 3-14 days for delivery, I would have appreciated transparency ahead of time that the truck is “delayed” to wait for another customer’s pick-up date to consolidate orders. THIS IS POOR PLANNING ON THE COMPANY’s PART AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN COMMUNICATED BEFORE my pick-up. While the company is saving money doing this, I am losing money while I pay for a hotel each night and don’t have access to my medications on the truck.

    Customer service is NOT helpful – I have requested a supervisor’s info to discuss this concern to make things right, but they still have not provided me this info. I was also overcharged on space used in the truck as I was advised to “over-estimate” my belongings beforehand so that the final price would be reduced upon the final measurement if less space was used. The movers did not demonstrate a measurement at the end, despite minimizing my belongings to save money. PLEASE do yourself a favor and spend a few hundred dollars more and go with a different company. I am extremely dissatisfied and hope this review saves others from dealing with this hassle from Mayzlin Relocation.

    My things had been in a storage unit for a few years until I was in a state that I could tolerate until retirement. I called several places and Mayzlin wasn't the most or the least. I read some reviews and thought okay. I got my quote and the people on the phone were very nice. I had the cash that they wanted for half which made them come and load my things up. I drove up from Florida and the movers arrived and got it in a UHaul truck (I could've done that) and they said it would go to a warehouse until a truck could get down to Florida. Ok, so I got a call from them and they would be having a truck come down and they gave me the final price. WHAT, it was triple what they quoted for the entire job when I first spoke to them. I had to cash out and pay the government for early withdraw, for the amount.

    When I got my stuff and began unpacking the boxes I had things missing (lots of expensive things) and because it's taken me so long in cleaning and putting things away and repairing my house, I find that my headboard is cracked/broken in 2 places. One of the places is glued together which means they know they broke it. I'm so angry! I wouldn't use this company ever again. I had many items gone and now a broken headboard of an expensive bedroom set. They also had tripled their cost once they have your stuff hostage. Thanks for nothing.

    BEWARE! Worst moving company I’ve ever worked with. Moved from CO to TN. Sales underestimated the move, even after 3 virtual walk throughs. Wasn’t told box trucks would load our items, which would be placed in a warehouse, to await a semi to pick up. We waited for days, just for our items to leave the warehouse. Packers were disorganized and it took 2 additional days to load our items. And 2 weeks later and we’re still waiting for a 1/4 of our items, just sitting in their CO warehouse. Customer Service says, "Don’t call Us, we’ll call you." First driver did his job (hence the one star) and we received our first delivery in TN 5 days later than expected, with only 3 men to unload a complete semi truck. I’ll Let you know when/if we ever receive the rest of our goods.

    This probably would be the worst moving services you will ever get. All the positive reviews are fake. There are so many things wrong, I will try to write it best I can. The quotation is a joke. They will low ball you the number, but will keep increasing the price for any small item you add. The sales team will act sweet and make you sign the contract with lies or just completely hiding information from you. Read the document which is lengthy on purpose which contains all the hidden information.

    There are straight up hidden charges (apparently on contract but they will not mention it during sale) on the day of moving. They will charge you for everything from tapes, blankets, shrink wrap all of which they say would be needed, it isn't included in the quotation cost. They will also charge for everything additional distance to using elevator and so on, so please read the document carefully before singing the service. The delivery date is not guaranteed and they would play tricks to change the delivery date and expected delivery date so that they can deliver as late as possible. The 7 - 10 business is a farce and they will only be liable if delivery date is more than 30 days. Until then they will just keep messing your delivery. My expected delivery was 1st of month and its almost 14 days, no delivery.

    The customer service is useless and doesn't give any updates, other than the driver will call when its time to deliver, but you have no idea when the actual date would be. Totally useless conversations, single person who will not help get you any information. They take no ownership or compensation for late delivery but will tell you to pay extra if you want it delivered on your date of choosing. My best advice avoid this horrible service at all. The other moving services even if expensive would be better than dealing with the mental stress of choosing Mayzlin.

    TL;DR - they lied to me before signing the contract on delivery guarantee (once on 4/9 at 4/9 at 12:44PM Eastern time, and another time at 4/9 at 4:53PM Eastern time), and they stopped picking up the call once I signed. Now it's been sitting at the origin state for the last 10 days when today (4/23) is the promised delivery date by the sales guy, and they are not answering the call. I flew back from London wasting the money -- don't book these guys unless you want to be left hanging without clear answers. Will update the review once I can get in contact with them with clear next steps

    Detail: I got a quote from them on April 8th for a move to NYC. I was traveling back and forth between US and UK so my number one concern was guaranteed pick up and drop off date, as I have to come back for one day for pick up, and one day for drop off. Sales associate guaranteed a pick up (4/12) and drop off (4/23) date, and even when the contract said "We don't guarantee drop-off date, it's between 3-21 business days" and my first available date was 4/23, he said "Don't worry about it, I talked to the operations team and got you locked in for both dates. You're in good hands." So I signed up for the service.

    They picked up on 4/12 as promised, and the pick up guy reassured me that the drop off will happen on 4/23. However, since then, I have heard not from them at all. I contacted the guy 3 times since then to check-in and he didn't pick up. I contacted the customer service and they told me "sales guy doesn't know what he's talking about, we only operate based on contract and your items have not been loaded." I flew back to the US to get the drop off, and I found out this morning that my stuff is still in Texas via AirTag, so I wasted my money flying back to the US based on their empty promises

    I would NOT recommend using Mayzlin. My move from PA to TX was a nightmare through each step of the process. Don’t be fooled by their nice sales team that you speak to in the upfront.

    To give a few examples of how things went wrong:

    1) Before the pickup, I let the company know that the hallway to my apartment was narrow and that my 2 cushion couch would need to go out the window since that's how it came in. They said it was no big deal, they deal with this all the time. However, when the 3 guys showed up the day of my move, they REFUSED to take the couch the window saying it was too dangerous. After going back and forth for hours, I had to hire a second moving company the day of to get my couch out the window. Mayzlin also refused at first to reimburse me for the expenses of the 2nd moving company.

    2) Their customer service in between pick up and delivery is AWFUL. They do not communicate with you about when your stuff has left the area. I had to call numerous times to check-in. The woman I spoke to each time was rude and not at all empathetic. She made it seem like I was bothering her for doing her job.

    3) When my stuff arrived, I was told the 18-wheeler was too big to fit down the trash alley where there was access to my apartment and they would have to transfer my stuff to a smaller truck. To do this, I had to pay them an extra $500. Seems like a scam to me - I've seen plenty of other moving trucks use the alley behind my building. They held my stuff hostage until I paid.

    4) They sent ONE guy to unload my stuff. They had 3 guys pick up my stuff and only one to drop it off. It took him over 7 hours to bring everything in! Also, since he was bringing in the boxes so slowly, I was able to open each box when he brought them in and noticed he brought in multiple boxes that did not belong to me. Luckily, he was still unloading so I was able to send the boxes back with him.

    5) Multiple things were missing and broken. The claim process was slow and compensation wasn’t enough for all the problems I had. They wouldn’t give me compensation for things that were missing since I didn’t claim those items when they were dropping off my stuff. Who has the time to go through every single box before the movers leave?! That is just an unrealistic expectation.

    6) The estimated timing for delivery was 7-10 and it took over 3 weeks.

    Save yourself the headache and use another company.

    So much hidden info in very small print that could have been disclosed upfront, ‘itemized’ list of belongings consisted of ‘boxes’. Lost stoneware water jug, Tiffany style lamp shade (received by the floor lamp base) and at least 2 boxes. Asked at delivery for the shade, was told I had 14 days to unpack and if not found file a claim. Claim filed but denied because I signed the form “with no notation that anything was missing”. ?? ALSO when making the original agreement I was asked when the first available load in date was, when I called to ask for a load in time the day before I was told they had up to 21 days to deliver and would be notified within 24 hours of that date.

    Belongings were delivered 14 days later. That should be made clear during original discussion. I had asked if my belongings would be in truck with other families, got no answer. Was charged additional charges on pick up when it was determined I had more boxes, but am I reimbursed for items I didn’t receive? NO! Furniture appeared to be well wrapped in blankets which is a good thing because several shelves and dressers were obviously stored on their side or upside down. Not a good experience, very shoddy operation and very poor customer support. Unable to give 0 stars.

    Their contract says will make efforts to deliver my furniture in 4 to 7 days. After 10 days I finally reached someone who said they actually have 30 days per DOT rules. My research showed that was only in case of “mechanical problems or bad weather”. But they obviously consistently use this ruse until they have a full truck, with other loads going to your area. They of course never mention this during the friendly Sales call. Lead me to believe 6 days max. I was without furniture for 14 days. For a 1300 mile move. I trusted what I assume to be their fake reviews.

    Large Antique Glass Mirror FROM MY GRANDMA, basically the last thing I had from her and that measures was not packed properly even though packing materials were purchased from mover and mover guaranteed packing.     The experience has been super stressful and I feel completely taken advantage of and misled. I even changed carriers from my original booking because of the promises of no second carriers and persuasiveness of the quality of workmanship and customer service, none of which was true. They asked to arrive two days early to pick up, which I said was fine, but now they haven’t shown back up to deliver the goods. I am a designer and this is a client’s possessions and it’s cross country for me and my business. I’m fine to deal with a delay but no one will answer the phone, give a date of arrival, or any information that will help me formulate a plan. If and when you can even get a customer service agent the are non-compassionate, smarty, say your truck will get there when it does. We don’t handle the logistics.

    Do NOT book this company! Worst decision I’ve ever made. It’s the complete lack of communication and the faux customer service line. I am now having to leave NY (clients home and destination of transported goods) and fly the red eye one morning cross country to meet the truck “when it shows”. This is a complete scam! Do not fall into their web.

    Hired them for a move long distance, everything was wrapped and in one piece. One of their main selling points is they don’t hire outside contractors to move your belongings and they do. When they arrived at our new home, over an hour late, they would not begin moving anything until they were paid first. Would not let me see my belongings, slammed the rental truck door closed. I was assured my things would arrive in a Mayzlin tractor trailer but they came in a Penske rental truck! Movers didn’t speak English and it was very hard to communicate with them. If I had asked them to reassemble all the items they took apart it would have been midnight before they were done. They arrived so late that my husband and I unwrapped everything just to get them out of my home. Daniel at customer service was laughing at my concern over paying before the delivery was made. Usually you pay for a service AFTER it is performed not before!

    As per our contract the customer agrees that the movers should collect the payment for services before unloading the good this was disclosed in the payment terms of the original estimate and terms and conditions of the Bill of lading:

    ''The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to the offloading the truck at destination by Wire Transfer, Money Order from Postal office or Cash ONLY or Zelle.'' 

    Then upon delivery, they must allow the customer to check the inventories and notate the condition of items when received.  Thank you for reporting the incident as it allows us to better our quality control.

    We have contacted CSI our claims service provider to initiate a claim file for the customer and allow them to file a proper claim as required by law. The customer was sent login information on 08/08/2023, The claim login information sent to the customer allows filing a claim for loss, damage, delay, overcharge, and complaint. All the above can and must be compensated through the claims process as required by federal regulations.

    Avoid Mayzlin Relocation at all costs! My recent experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare. I caution anyone considering their services to be extremely cautious and skeptical. Initially, I was hopeful about the positive reviews I had seen, but now I suspect that many of them may have been fabricated. It's essential to be vigilant when dealing with companies like this, as they seem to have no qualms about misleading their customers.

    When I hired them to help with my relocation, they made numerous promises about their level of service. However, upon their arrival, it was evident that they were unprepared and ill-equipped to handle the delicate task of moving my cherished antique grandfather clock. Instead of using proper materials, they suggested wrapping it in cut-up cardboard, which was shocking and highly unprofessional. As you can imagine, their inability to fulfill their contractual obligations left me with no choice but to find alternative solutions. They outright broke their agreement, leaving me with significant inconvenience and stress during the relocation process.

    To add insult to injury, they refused to refund the $850 I had paid upfront, citing absurd reasons such as gas money expenses. It's truly baffling how they can justify keeping funds for a service they did not even provide. This kind of behavior is utterly unacceptable and demonstrates their lack of integrity. In light of this experience, I feel compelled to share my warning with as many consumers as possible. I have filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and initiated legal action against Mayzlin Relocation to seek justice for the injustice they have caused.

    In conclusion, I strongly advise against engaging with this company for any relocation needs. Their shady practices, broken promises, and lack of accountability are deeply troubling, and I believe it is essential for potential customers to be aware of their unscrupulous behavior. My hope is that by sharing my story, others will be spared from a similarly distressing encounter with Mayzlin Relocation.

    As per our applicable tariff and the terms and conditions on the governing bill of lading, all services rendered up to the point of cancellation of services must be paid for in full and will be deducted directly from the deposit paid by the customer. Since the service was canceled due to a change of order made by the customer when our crew was already at the pickup location and ready to perform the services, resulting in additional charges after the truck and crew were already dispatched to the pickup location, tolls, and gas has been paid for; the van and crew have already spent time at the customer location trying to explain the customer the proper way to pack her items, we understand the customer concern regarding the packing of her valuable item, however,  we have a huge experience of moving such items. Our foreman tried to explain to the customer that the safety of transported items is always a priority for us and that items like that for proper moving should be packed in multilayer packaging which includes bubble wrap, moving blankets, and soft crate cardboard we were ready to provide such packing, however, the customer decided to cancel at last minute violating the cancellation policy, therefore,  we had to keep deposit payment because we incurred expenses for this pickup and it meets the contract.

    Per the cancellation policy, as it appears on our estimate before and after booking the move, to which the customer has agreed and signed, the customer must notify us a minimum of  7 business days ahead of the move date for a full/partial refund. If the customer fails to notify us according to the cancellation policy, our agreement clearly states that they may forfeit the deposit.

    I contracted with Mayzlin Relocation for a move from Ohio to Florida. The 2 men that came to our home to load our belongings we’re very professional and handled our furniture with care. However, that’s when the good service ended. When our household goods were delivered it was in a Uhaul truck for which we charged an additional $500. The driver was by himself and because of that several items were damaged including our refrigerator and a dining room table that was custom made. I could tell that the Uhaul was not properly loaded and the load was not secured. My advice to anyone needing a moving service is steer clear of Mayzlin.

    Easily the worst experience I have ever had with a mover. Do not use this company. 1) Would not give a specific date for packing and loading or delivery. Kept saying the DOT does not allow that, funny part is the DOT website recommends that you get a specific update. 2) They as for a deposit which apparently is illegal in most states. 3) I did not get a call about when movers would arrive until I called twice 2 days before the day I was expecting to move. 4) When the movers did arrive the driver spoke almost no English (I believe Russian speaking) and was very difficult to communicate with. 5) When they packed dress clothes they just threw them in the bottom of a box, no hanging clothes not ever a bar in the box to hang them.

    6) Packing a TV they didn't pack the power cord with that tv, just stuck it in a unlabeled box, same with power cords for recliner and adjustable bed. 7) Didn't label any boxes AT ALL, driver had no clue what boxes went in what room. 8) Deliver was 5 days later than their last day of the 1-7 day "range" they gave me. 9) Several damaged articles ie., I had 3 floor standing lamps all 3 broken beyond repair. 10) Not once was I contacted by any member of this company to check and see how the move went, not a call, text or email. Pretty obvious they aren't interested in customer service. They just want to take your money and run as fast as they can. I can not say strongly enough how terrible this mover is.

    Per federal and state regulations carriers must not pay any claims voluntarily unless filed in writing within the time limits allowed by law and after filing requirements have been met. We require that customers are available an entire day for the arrival of the truck as its time of arrival is dependent on many elements such as road, weather and mechanical conditions which are beyond our control.     The customer was asked what the date will be the first available date they will be ready for delivery. The customer stated 04/27/2023. From that date we have up to 21 business days to attempt the delivery of the shipment. We will not guarantee a date for delivery unless a dedicated truck was requested and paid for.     Dealing with the sales rep was great until I had an issue. Pick up was great, until it wasn't. Delivery almost didn't happen unless I surrendered another 700 dollars. I was told they would have to do a shuttle to unload without seeing the sight. I fought with them and had to video tape the road and driveway in order for them to agree. That is when communication stopped. They were trying to intimidate the driver just to push another service. All in all the move cost an additional 1,000 dollars but, the emotional stress can not even be measured with a monetary value. I really wish that a big news channel would do a story on the moving business. It's a racket and scam. They take advantage of you at a very stressful time in your life. I gave the company a rating of 2 because I did get my belongings and all in one piece.

    Impressed by owner and packing team but it went downhill from there. No communication to keep me informed of delivery and it was a week beyond due date. Took me 4 messages before I rec’d a call. My belongings were delivered and boxes were placed upside down. Paid extra of $350 for grandfather clock and it’s damaged. Brand new patio covers torn, mother’s Lladro broken and Lennox bowl in pieces. My childhood rocking chair broken. Worker didn’t say anything about not finding pieces to attach headboard and he just pushed bed up against it. It’s as if the team delivering my belongings didn’t care, and just wanted the job done. Driver only had 1 more delivery after mine and he had just delivered 5. I haven’t finished opening boxes and wonder what other damage I’ll find.

    Everyone warned me not to believe anything any moving company told me. So when I started looking for a moving company I asked a LOT of questions. Andrew at Mayzlin was fantastic - right up until they had my belongings. He told me everything I wanted to hear. I repeatedly told him what p/u day we preferred. He said I had to give a 2-day window but that they almost always pick up on the preferred day. Lie #1. I also told him repeatedly that we could not have delivery before 3/17. He assured me that since we had such a short distance move (about 325 miles) our belongings would not be offloaded and put in storage and that we’d get them in 2 days at most from pick up. Lie #2. We got our delivery 5 days after we were told by both Andrew and the crew that picked up and a full week after pick up. And our items were offloaded and put in storage at least once (possibly more).

    To be honest, I initially wasn’t terribly upset about the delivery delay since I expected it despite the promises Andrew made. What I am extremely upset about is the complete about face in their attitude between when I booked and after they had picked up. Every time I talked to Andrew BEFORE the pickup date, he was patient and gracious and all charm. Once Mayzlin had my belongings, he and everyone else at Mayzlin became extremely unresponsive, rude and even tried to blame me for ALL of the problems.

    Not once did anyone at Mayzlin take even the slightest bit of responsibility nor did they care at all that I was an upset customer. All in all, it wasn’t the worst moving experience - I’ve heard far worse horror stories from others. The pickup crew was great and took great care with our belongings and the delivery crew was also good. But don’t be fooled by their charm and promises to get your business. They do not care at all once they have your items and know you can’t do a damn thing about it.

    If you’re reading this, beware of this company. My review is a lot to read, but I promise it’s worth it. You’ll save money and time. Here’s my detailed experience: On 10/18/2022, I inquired about a quote for a move from Brentwood, MD to Los Angeles, CA with Mayzlin Relocation. This call (with Sales Rep Chris **) included conversations about inquiry of cost for services, pick-up/drop off policy, request for advising on delivery window given the specifics of my move, and inquiry of additional costs that may be incurred during this transaction. On 10/28/2022, I circled back and confirmed booking MAYZLIN, with a pick up date of 11/14-11/15 and delivery date of 11/28. On November 7, I completed a quality assurance FaceTime call and text correspondence (with Christina **) showing my storage unit and all items in it. I was given a cost for packing supplies that would be included in my overall price.

    On November 8, I was was requested to confirm truck dimensions for delivery to determine need for additional shuttle. I submitted verbal and text confirmation that the dimensions were acceptable from the apartment building. On November 15, I was contacted an hour before by a driver saying they would be at location for pick up. This was outside of the 24 hour notice I was told I would receive. I was also charged extra for packing materials already accounted for, and fees for moving items from location to truck outside of the allotted 75 feet, which was never previously explained nor was it accurate (I have videos and measuring to prove this).

    On November 25, I called to check on the status of the delivery and was told that per the policy, the company has 5-21 business days from delivery date to delivery items (yes, you read that correctly). I was confused about this but upon further investigation, requested to change my date to 11/25 to begin the process. I was also told then that I could have expedited the move for additional $1-2k, but I had missed the window to do so. This was done so by an Ayesha (no last name) who told me I could not contact anyone above her as she was the manager, and the only way to escalate my concerns would be via email which would also come to her.

    On November 28, I arrived at the delivery location in Los Angeles. I then begin a series of calls, every 2-3 days, to check on the status of my delivery. I was told for the first two weeks that my belongings were not able to be included on a shipment out yet. I again inquired about the 5-21 business day window, at which time I was informed this included weekends but not holidays. On December 8, I was told items were scheduled to be on a truck in transit by December 10. On December 12, I was told items were in route and given a 7 day window for delivery. On December 15, I was told items were expected to arrive between December 21-22. On December 19, I was told my delivery date changed to December 23-24. I then communicated that I did not know if anyone would be at the desk to operate the loading dock on Christmas Eve, and that would be something I’d need to check.

    On December 20, I circled back with Customer Service to inform them that I needed 72 hours to inform my concierge about a loading dock reservation, and I still had no confirmation about 12/24, Christmas Eve. On this call I was also told I would need a shuttle for $500 as the driver has determined, without seeing the location on site, that the truck would not fit despite confirmation from the apartment building that the dimensions of the truck were acceptable. As of this afternoon I have been told items will arrive on December 26, after Christmas. Desired resolution: safe transport and delivery of my items, without damage, preferably before the new year. It’s been the overall lack of compassion, communication and concern from customer service that’s really blown me away. Condescending, patronizing and lacking empathy especially during the holidays.

    First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience the customer has endured during the move. It is never our intention that customers will have a less than satisfying experience.
    The customer was asked what the date will be the first available date they will be ready for delivery. The customer stated 11/29/2022. From that date we have up to 21 business days to attempt the delivery of the shipment. We will not guarantee a date for delivery unless a dedicated truck was requested and paid for. We must take into consideration road conditions, weather, and mechanical issues that can affect truck routes. Everything that was agreed upon is in writing and it is the customer’s responsibility to verify all their needs are included in the original estimate.
    The foreman is not in position to assume that all the items present are to be moved. The foreman doesn’t always recognize that additional items were added to the original list of items to be moved. Especially if such information is not offered by the customer in advance. Therefore, the crew is ordered to commence the wrapping and loading of items. However, once additional items were identified, the foreman will cease work until they carefully inspect the entire shipment, issue a Revised Binding Estimate, require the customer to sign agreeing that changes were made and that they accept the resulting increase of charges.
    The driver is ultimately the responsible party for the safety of the tractor trailer, the crew, the shipment, and the surrounding environment (i.e yards, cars, buildings, etc.). Should the driver feel uncomfortable to safely perform the pick up or delivery of a shipment, they are required to take the necessary measures to perform the service in a safe manner even if that means that the customer will be charged for it. Otherwise it is the carrier’s legal right to delivery shipment to the last safe accessible point. Any damages which may be incurred for attempting a delivery in an unsafe manner are at the driver’s risk of losing not only their job but their CDL driver’s license as well as fines.
    The customer was referred to our claims service provider CSI to file a proper claim as required by the law. The customer was sent login information on 01/03/2023 to file a claim online. Once the claim is received it will be analyzed in the order it was received and compensation will be offered based on our legal liability and within the time frame allowed by law.     I suggest one not waste your time with this company. Events that occurred, First bid from telephone pictures Underbid. Second bid delivered on the last day one could cancel and significantly higher based on walk-through video. Cancellation impossible due to timing. Late arrival for packing and loading. Nothing occurs unless you make payment in advance. It’s their way to pay or else. Delivery to new location 2 days later than expected. Here again nothing comes off the truck until you pay, even a wire transfer or certified check was not good enough. Communication with packers, drivers and unloaders difficult, limitation of English language. Had damaged pictures when we opened the boxes. All of the above was an experience I never want again.

    I deeply regret using this service and honestly wish I just sold my stuff. Everything ended up costing $1899 MORE than what I was told. They were supposed to do the inventory call the day before the movers came and they didn't call me until around 8 pm when I was seeing an expensive Broadway show. They called me three times and gave me so much anxiety that I ended up leaving the show to go home and they said we could just do the call the next day.

    When we did do the call, they said we had several items that weren’t accounted for when I know for a fact I told the person on my initial call about those items since I was at home and looking at every one of them. How could I forget I have a California King bed? I remember the person joking about how big that mattress is but somehow that wasn’t included in my estimate which then dramatically increased the cost. There were also fees for not having the bed wrapped which I wish I would’ve been told in advance so I could’ve gone and bought my own. It ended up being an additional $60 for three mattress covers for the mattress and two twin boards underneath it (Also, why is a mattress cover for a California King and a twin bed the same price when it’s double the size?).

    When everything arrived, we realized they never actually put mattress covers on it to begin with and simply wrapped it in a black garbage bag type material that we could’ve wrapped it in ourselves so we paid $60 for covers we never received. Shortly after they arrived and quoted us for the additional steps they had to walk, (apparently, every 7 steps after 75 steps, is another $75 added to your bill) we paid, they ended up moving the truck significantly closer but didn’t adjust what we had to pay despite having to walk much less and charging us an additional $586!

    There were also two people so one person would bring the furniture to the elevator and the other would walk it from the elevator to our apartment. Individually, neither of the movers were actually walking 75 steps. In addition to all of this, we were told that our stuff would get here within 10-15 days but it’s “often faster than that.” 11 days in, they called us and said our stuff was finally on its way and could take another 5-10 days to arrive. I ended up not having enough of my medication because it didn’t come within the time I was told. On the day they finally brought our stuff, a different company ended up dropping off our things and made me send the money to them.

    The morning of, they confirmed I’d be paying less than $2k for the final payment over text so I was going to send it through Zelle, but when they got here with the 18-wheeler and told us we had to pay an extra $586 because it wouldn't fit in the parking garage, my partner had to run to the nearest bank to take out the remaining cash since Zelle does not approve payments over $2000. While we waited, the mover aggressively asked me 3 times and then asked my partner as they walked in again "where is my money at?"

    They also sloppily moved our stuff in and scratched up the walls. They dropped one of our boxes on the ground outside and left it there for a while as they were moving things in. Other boxes looked beat up. They also brought a table that wasn’t ours and unpacked it so we had to tell them to take it back. We were told they would reassemble anything they disassembled, but they didn’t reassemble our TV stand or the bottom of our sofa couch.

    We are also missing our WHOLE TELEVISION, one of our outdoor tables, my brand new $175 diploma that I just got from my recent graduation from NYU and a knitted blanket from my dead father. I feel like I got played which is incredibly sad given that I just graduated from college and had to drop $5859.04 on a one-bedroom move from Brooklyn to Los Angeles when I was initially quoted $3960.04. I understand a quote being off by maybe $500, but $1899??? I’ll eat the $75 fee for the elevator both times but after that? We had a binding estimate! Do not choose them.

    A “Binding” estimate is an estimate which is binding on both the customers and the carriers whether based on cubic feet or weight. Both the customer and the carrier agree that for the services described in the estimate, the charges will be as disclosed. Binding estimates if based on weight do not require a weight ticket and will not change according to the weight of the shipment regardless of the result of the weighing. The only way to change a binding estimate is to write a revised binding estimate that automatically cancels out any previously given binding estimate. For example, if the original service order changes and more items and/or more services are requested to be shipped or performed by the movers, then a new Revised Binding Estimate must be issued to include the new charges resulting from the added items and services. The revising of an estimate must be due to a change of order which results in a change of charges. Weighing shipments and adjustment of charges accordingly is only an option with a non-binding estimate.

    - A Stairs charge applies when the walk up from the ground floor to the residence door is more than one flight of stairs or 75 steps. This charge is applicable per our operating tariff and is meant to cover for the cost of the extra labor associated with having to carry the goods upstairs resulting in excessive number of hours required to complete the delivery or pick up of goods. That is an additional charge detailed in the original estimate provided at the beginning of the move.

    - We have up to 21 business days to attempt the delivery of the shipment. We will not guarantee a date for delivery unless a dedicated truck was requested and paid for. We must take into consideration road conditions, weather, and mechanical issues that can affect truck routes. Everything that was agreed upon is in writing and it is the customer’s responsibility to verify all their needs are included in the original estimate.

    If customers DO NOT accept the new charges they have the following 3 options: Cancel the move – the customers can decide to cancel the move and no additional charges will be imposed other than to pay for the services already rendered. Keep Original Estimate – customers can decide to only ship the original items list (or the equivalent weight/space) and utilize the services originally ordered for no additional charge. Accept the Revised Estimate – customers can accept the newly revised estimate listing the additional items and services now requested and complete the move.

    We regret the customer found it necessary to file a complaint, but trust that the above explanation enables them to better understand our position in this matter.

    We hired this moving company to help move our family from Ohio to Illinois and the crew they sent were unprofessional and inexperienced. Most of the items they moved were damaged or broken. They poorly packed furniture so a lot of our stuff has brown stains on them that came from their dirty truck (couch, beds, pillows, dressers, tv stand). They broke one of our TVs because someone touched the screen while moving it, they damaged the cord on a treadmill that is only 2 years old and refused to move it to the basement so they just left it in the hallway. They left screws out of beds and tables and lied and told us that they were fully assembled. We only found this out because my husband sat on a bed and it slumped. We have a newborn and a two year old so unstable furniture like tables and beds are a hazard and could be very dangerous.

    Not to mention they also broke my standing desk so it only rises on one side, broke the back of a mirror, couch, almost all of our lampshades and a few lamps. In addition to that they left scrapes and/or wall dents in almost every room they worked in. We have filed a claim and don't expect much to be done, but knowing that they charge a decent price and hired inexperienced staff, the company should address this issue directly and work quickly to remedy this, but after going to them they just redirected me to the Claims Company that has 1.3 stars on Google. I have tried calling this company multiple times and no one answers. Our claim is in process, I will post a review update to see whether or not the company handles these issues with integrity and takes responsibility or conduct themselves poorly knowing that they hired someone ill-equipped for the job.

    Low-ball preliminary quote to get the deposit, then significant cost increase day of move despite no change to inventory. No communication/updates on delivery timeframe 17 days in. Misleading advertised average delivery time of 3-8 days on their website. (East coast). Always later than scheduled/promised. Lots of broken and damaged furniture. Fragile items/glass broken, despite careful wrapping and packing in bubble wrap etc. (Boxes labeled "fragile" are all absolutely crushed). Items missing from delivery.     First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience the customer has endured during the move. It is never our intention that customers will have a less than satisfying experience.

    The customer was asked what the date will be the first available date they will be ready for delivery. The customer stated 06/05/2022 From that date we have up to 30 business days to attempt the delivery of the shipment. We will not guarantee a date for delivery unless a dedicated truck was requested and paid for. We must take into consideration road conditions, weather, and mechanical issues that can affect truck routes. Everything that was agreed upon is in writing and it is the customer’s responsibility to verify all their needs are included in the original estimate. The shipment was delivered on 06/22/2022 in (Pittsburgh/PA) to which the customer’s signature attests.

    Our sales representatives are trained professionals who spend relentless hours attempting to collect the necessary information from the customers so that they can not only offer an estimate that fits the customer’s budget but also communicate their needs to the dispatch office. Dispatch will attempt to prepare the routes to accommodate all shipments and their owners’ special needs. Unfortunately, we are dependent on the information provided by the customers and their ability to best describe their shipments, schedules, geographic conditions and budgets. This requires accuracy on both parties, customers and service providers, the customer provided the sales representative with an inventory list consisting of 110 pieces to transport which was estimated to occupy approximately 908 cu ft. It states in the Estimate that should the customer add additional items or require additional services which were not listed on the Estimate then the price will increase accordingly.

    Upon arrival to the origin the customer added 248 pieces which increased the volume to 1200 cu ft. They also ordered packing services for their items. Per federal regulations, any additional items and services requested which were not included in the original estimate and may result in additional charges require that the movers provide a revised binding estimate which automatically cancels any previous estimates. The customer was provided a revised binding estimate which included all requested additional services prior to the loading of their additional goods to which their signature attests. The customer instructed the movers to pack and load everything and that they would be responsible for payment for all services rendered.

    The customer was referred to our claims service provider CSI to file a proper claim as required by the law. The customer was sent login information on 07/12/2022 to file a claim online and compensation will be offered based on our legal liability and within the time frame allowed by law.     We chose this company because of reviews and the moving coordinator Kristin. Who told me she would see the move from beginning to the end. There would be no third party involved. She was great until the week of the move. I was contacted by Rachel to go over cubic feet of our pickup. She had us remeasure our 2 big items again. Kubota side by side and Gravely lawnmower. Verified the measurements were correct with the quote Kristin had given us in the original quote. However, when the guys showed up...the measurements were not correct. So we were charged an additional 2000.00 for an extra 300 cubic feet. My husband had to load both the Kubota and Gravely because the movers didn't know how to drive them. So we paid 5200.00 to move 2 motorized vehicles and 4 boxes. Packed and loaded by myself and my husband.

    Also, movers did not inventory the shipment. I wrote it on the inventory list. Mayzlin is no different than any other moving company. They get you to sign the contract and pay the deposit. Then when they show up charge additional cost. We could have moved everything by using a car hauler for 2000.00. Lessons learned! Never again!!

    Originally got quoted 8k for the move from TN to TX 30 days in advance. Sent pictures and detailed info to Kristin which quoted the job. One day before the movers are supposed to show I get another rep who does a facetime with me. Now she says there is way more stuff then what was quoted and the new cost is

    17k. At this point we are set to close the day movers were coming. Utilities being turned off and packed ready to travel... how do you call this off! You don't... They ended settling to do the move for 12k which was not budgeted... Again your hands are tied so there is nothing you can do.

    Movers showed up at almost 2 pm so needless to say they were loading the truck until 12 am in the morning... Same thing when they got to Houston… another late night. Damaged antiques… flooring damage… missing items.. We even ended up with 4 glass shelves that belonged to someone else yet the driver said they did not unload our stuff. Which was a lie because there were green dots on most of the boxes and items from garage which were not put on when loaded as I was there... I guess he thought I was dumb.

    Lastly to top it off the guys not only caused unnecessary damage but boxes were poorly labeled and boxed… Computer screen stuffed in wardrobe boxes with hanging clothes stuffed around it. Two of the guys even asked my father and I both for "big tip.. big tip". Seems useless to file a claim based on how other claims are being handled. A lot of shady stuff going on with this company.

    Can’t say enough about how easy it all was from start to finish. Our rep was Christina and she first started out by asking us necessary questions as to how much furniture etc we have and then provided a quote. We agreed and the rest is history.     The team did a great job and the driver made sure all went smoothly. We did have two areas that could use improvement. Marking boxes and initial estimating. We are having great difficulty in figuring out what is in our packed boxes. There needs to be a better system of marking boxes so we know what to look for when going through LOTS of boxes and looking for something in our new place. Maybe have the homeowners place signs on each area and room to be packed so that they know what box came from what area in the old house. For example the "blue room" is not a standard description like "living room" or "kitchen" But it fully describes what and where it came from for us.

    Also do the video walk through as early as possible. Not 2 weeks before the move. The customer is not skilled in making estimates. My first estimate had us using a single box truck. In the end we packed a semi to the absolute max. Couldn't fit in another golf club when it pulled away. Our estimate went from $10k to $30k. BIG BIG difference. I needed to know this to get that kind of money as soon as possible. I had to borrow the money in this case. Had I known sooner, I could have taken other steps to pay the fee. The very delicate and breakable items we have opened so far have been perfect. Great packing and great care in transporting. I would recommend Mayzlin again to anyone moving.

    This was my first move with a long distance moving company. I normally move myself, so I was very nervous. My representative was Andrew. And might I add he was very helpful, he guided me through the process of what to expect and how the process goes. What I can say is the most important part about moving is being transparent because I knew exactly what to expect. I knew my price was going to increased at pick up but solely based on the items I additionally added that I didn’t mention when we booked the reservation.
