If you're considering using them, consider calling their customer service line to see if anyone picks up the phone during regular business hours. They will not pick up, and they will not call you back (unless of course, you mention that you're a potential new customer). They will tell you whatever you want to hear to get you to book, with a special shoutout to Chris B., who was our sales rep and "assigned point of contact to guide us through our move" who spun up a fantastic story to explain away not answering the phone for weeks. They smoked and drank alcohol out of our fridge on the job, not completing our move until 1:30 am the day AFTER it was supposed to be done (we had a 9 am-12 pm pickup window). This company is being investigated for credit card fraud, false advertising, and breaking laws around recording phone calls in FL and NC. The positive reviews are bought and paid for. I promise you will do better with ANYONE else.

Once Alex arrived, there were initially no issues or complaints. We were courteous and even offered him water. Later, he suddenly claimed there were more stairs than expected and tried to charge us ANOTHER $400. He told us that if we paid it, he would assemble our bed—even though furniture disassembly/reassembly was already included in the service we purchased, and we had already paid stair/long-carry related charges through the company. We refused to pay this second $400. Alex then assembled NONE of our furniture and left in the middle of the service, claiming his semi was being towed. Our mattress was left blocking the bedroom and the apartment was left in complete disarray.

I immediately requested that Mayzlin send someone else to finish the assembly or reschedule the remaining service for another day. This request was completely ignored. We paid $3,710 for the original move plus the additional $400 shuttle charge, only to be asked for another $400 during delivery for a service already included in our agreement—and when we didn’t pay it, the mover left without assembling a single piece of furniture. I have requested a refund of the $400 shuttle charge and reimbursement for the assembly service we paid for but never received. I have also documented the experience in a complaint to FMCSA. I cannot recommend Mayzlin Relocation. Two unexpected $400 demands within hours of each other, followed by the mover leaving mid-service without completing the contracted assembly, was completely unacceptable.

The problem has been the lack of transparency and inconsistent communication. We later learned that our shipment sat in Austin for an extended period before even being scheduled to head to California. Throughout the process, we’ve had to repeatedly call for updates because proactive communication has been virtually nonexistent.

On Tuesday, we were told our truck would be loaded on Wednesday and that we should receive an ETA of 4 to 6 days. We never received that update. When we called again, we spoke with the same representative, Elena, who told us to call back next week for another update, even though our shipment should already be arriving next week. This is especially frustrating because we now have to coordinate a loading dock and freight elevator reservation with our apartment building in San Francisco, something that requires advance notice. Without even a tentative delivery date, we’re left unable to plan.

Delays can happen in the moving industry, and I understand that. What is much harder to accept is paying thousands of dollars for a service and then having to chase the company for basic information while receiving conflicting answers each time. If communication had been honest, proactive, and consistent, this review would likely be very different. Instead, the entire experience has been stressful and disappointing. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Mayzlin Relocation.

Here I am, one month in, and Mayzlin is now citing that same 30-business-day window as the actual terms of our agreement. That’s six weeks of sleeping on an air mattress - no TV, no furniture, no kitchenware. My route and truck haven’t even been scheduled, let alone delivered. I could have planned around this if they’d been upfront from the start. Instead, they lied outright - the 30-day window isn’t DOT-mandated, and 14 days was never their worst case, let alone realistic.

Take a closer look at their positive Google reviews: they all read the same, come from accounts with exactly one review, and name-check the moving crew (no one introduced themselves to me, and I certainly wouldn’t remember names two weeks later if they had). Save yourself the mistake I made. Stay far away - this is the most disorganized, incompetent operation I’ve dealt with, and their ethics match.

Frank placed me on hold to speak with his manager, then returned and assured me they could deliver our shipment within 7–14 days of pickup (June 15), specifically promising it would arrive before July 1. Based on that assurance, I agreed to proceed and paid Mayzlin. Unfortunately, those promises were never kept. After our belongings were picked up, we called Mayzlin’s customer service line every day for more than three weeks, leaving voicemails each time. Their recording promises a callback within 24 hours, yet we never received a single return call. We also sent numerous emails and repeatedly contacted the sales department, where we were continually told a manager would call us. No manager ever did.

Whenever we questioned the missed delivery timeline, we were simply told, “It doesn’t matter what Frank told you. The contract says we have up to 30 business days to deliver.” Rather than acknowledging the verbal promises that influenced our decision to hire them, they repeatedly hid behind the fine print of the contract.

Communication throughout the process was unacceptable. The tracking portal listed July 9 as the latest delivery date, which passed without delivery or explanation. We were also told the promised GPS tracking was unavailable because their system was “broken.” During one conversation, a representative admitted the company currently had no managers because they had recently resigned, leaving no meaningful way to escalate customer concerns. Instead, delays were blamed on staffing issues, the holiday weekend, the busy season, and Utah being a difficult delivery destination—none of which were mentioned during the sales process.

Another major disappointment was learning that Mayzlin did not even complete the delivery themselves. One of the reasons we chose them over a moving broker was because we were told they used their own employees and trucks throughout the move. Instead, the driver who contacted us worked for a third-party carrier contracted by Mayzlin, and our final payment was made to that company instead.

The most frustrating part of this experience was the stark contrast between the sales department and customer service. Sales representatives were always available to answer calls, collect payment, and make reassuring promises. Once our belongings were in Mayzlin’s possession, communication essentially disappeared. We spent nearly a month in a new state without our furniture, clothing, and household essentials while being met with excuses instead of accountability. Based on my experience, the service we actually received was dramatically different from what was promised when we agreed to hire Mayzlin. I would not recommend this company to anyone planning a long-distance move.

We told them several times that we needed the household delivered immediately. When the day came that we scheduled to have the household delivered I was informed that it was in storage, even though I said to not store anything and to deliver immediately. Nobody could tell me why it was in storage and again I was not able to speak with a supervisor. I call everyday and am sent to a voicemail. I had one person call me back who couldn't tell me where my stuff was or when it was getting delivered. I have been calling for days and no one is answering the phone. This has been the worst moving experience and I'm in shock of how unprofessional this company is. I still have no idea where my stuff is or when it is getting here. I would suggest renting a truck and moving on your own over hiring this company. This should be illegal.

On delivery day, the crew consisted of the company driver and two local individuals hired to assist with unloading. Mayzlin advertises disassembly and reassembly services. While our beds and cribs were disassembled before transport, the company representative asked me how to reassemble them upon delivery. More concerning, the cribs were reassembled improperly, with screws left protruding and other screws completely missing. Given that these cribs were for our young children, this created a serious safety concern and required me to disassemble and reassemble them myself.

The most troubling aspect of the move was the extensive damage to our belongings. Having completed numerous long-distance moves, I understand that occasional damage can occur during transit. However, I have never seen such a large number of crushed boxes, broken items, and damaged possessions. The volume of damage was far beyond what would be considered normal or acceptable.

When the driver presented the delivery paperwork, I declined to sign because it stated that all items had been delivered in good condition. After I informed him that I had documented the damage with photographs, he required me to walk through the shipment and identify damaged items while he took photographs for the company. During this process, he opened boxes and handled our belongings carelessly. His demeanor throughout the interaction was rude and unprofessional.

The claims process was equally disappointing. Mayzlin uses CSI Claims, a third-party claims administrator retained by the company. After weeks of waiting and only shortly before the claims deadline, we finally received a settlement offer. Despite the extent of the documented damage, the proposed compensation was just $120. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share this experience in hopes of helping others avoid the same frustration, stress, and financial loss. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Mayzlin Relocation LLC and would strongly encourage anyone considering their services to look elsewhere.

We finally got that sorted, again no communication about when they were going to show up until the day before. Then they charged me extra $$ to take stuff off the truck! They knew from the start that everything was going from my home to a storage unit but they wrapped everything with blankets then wanted to CHARGE me $30 PER BLANKET when it got here. Why wrap everything in stuff that you are going to charge me for or have to remove when you know it's going to a storage unit and not a home?? Money money money at every turn. Hundreds of dollars more than the original quote. The movers were nice on both sides but already I see broken furniture. Zero stars for customer service, Mayzlin is slimy. They promise the world then make you pay pay pay before they hand over your stuff in whatever the heck condition it's in now. Use a different company or just set everything on fire and buy new wherever you're going.

When our stuff finally did arrive, the driver told us he was alone and had no help. He needed us to meet him on the side of the road where we had to unload his semi truck ourselves into a moving truck that we paid for on top of paying for movers. Our boxes were covered in rat urine and droppings. No one has ever reached out about paying us back for our delayed shipment, no word from CSI on our pitiful payment for missing belongings, no discount for having to do have if a full pack and move ourselves. They are liars, scammers and fraudulent. This company should be shut down. Save yourselves and use literally anyone else.

Mayzlin had my new address; they could have easily told me this weeks ago as part of my quote. Instead they tell me 18 hours before delivery (3 business hours, which is an eternity with this company because they don’t answer the phone or return calls) that now I need to pay them $500 to deliver my stuff on a normal truck or else rent a U-haul. It’s an absolute scam. I don’t understand how this company is number 1 on Forbes’ list for long haul movers.

The most infuriating part? When I attempted to dispute the outcome, I was told I needed to provide documentation that was simply impossible to substantiate after the fact. Photos, estimates, original receipts for items years old — the burden of proof placed entirely on me, with no acknowledgment of their crew's role in the damage. There is no reasonable mechanism for a customer to "prove" damage that occurred entirely in their possession and care. Mayzlin may look legitimate on paper, but their accountability ends the moment your belongings leave their truck. If you value your furniture, your time, or your sanity — look elsewhere.

Mayzlin claims our 14‑day delivery window began on 4/29, not 4/20. Had we known that, we would have given a much earlier delivery date. Their communication has been exceptionally poor throughout this entire process. We are now paying out of pocket to stay in an Airbnb while we wait for Mayzlin to finally deliver our items. This has been the most frustrating move we’ve ever experienced, and I regret not sticking with International Van Lines. We’ve called multiple times and sent emails, yet no one will call us back.

When I texted back and just asked for the confirmation he texted back "You got the verbal commitment 3 different times now, stop acting like we're trying to keep your money I can guarantee you we're not. Now if you don't mind letting us know who you went with that would be great." When I thanked him for putting it in writing he said via text "You bet! now are you going to tell us who you miraculously chose over us 3 weeks later...." I've never encountered such unprofessionalism and rudeness from a company, moving or otherwise. Why we're cancelling and who we're going with and when it's well within their timeline is none of their business and to hold our money hostage or try to keep us on the phone until we answer is absolutely ridiculous. The company reeks of entitlement and desperation. And knows nothing about customer service. Stay far far away from this company.

1) Over-promise how long the shipping will take in order to land the sale: Two different employees told me it would take 4-11 days and their website says 5-10 days for the mileage of my trip. It ended up taking 30 days. You sign a contract giving a latest delivery date that you think is 'worst case scenario latest date' because of the humans you spoke to that said it would get there way earlier.

2) Impossible to get updates on shipment: from the time they loaded the truck I couldn't contact Mayzlin for 3 calendar weeks and I thought they just stole my stuff. I sent several emails to the sales and QA guys I'd worked with and left several voicemails for "customer care". Taking all of someone's earthly possessions then ghosting them for 3 weeks is absolutely wild.

3) You know a moving company will nickel & dime you, but they grossly underestimated the size of my shipment (so I paid 50% more than estimate) but the worst part is that they tried to charge an extra thousand dollars at delivery because they said the truck couldn't get to my house. I had to argue with them for days and show them photos of other trucks entering and exiting for my neighborhood for them to finally agree to send the semi and hey what do you know! Of course it got down my street just fine. They tried to charge an extra thousand dollars sight unseen.

My confirmed 9–11 AM pickup window was changed the evening before—conveniently after the office had closed for the weekend—to 3–5 PM. There was no explanation and no way to reach anyone. No one ever bothered to call me back despite repeated messages with their answering service. I was later told by QA that there was no operational reason for the delay.

Despite confirming in advance that a semi-truck could access the delivery location, and providing documentation that the semi could, in fact, fit in all 4 of the provided options. The driver refused to deliver and forced a shuttle transfer to a smaller truck, adding roughly $600 in extra charges. I was also charged for a “long carry” even though the truck was parked less than 75’ from the building entrance, which is the typical standard for moving companies.

Upon delivery, movers refused to reassemble furniture they had disassembled - that I had paid for them to pack originally, handled items carelessly, and did not properly verify inventory at multiple points from the transfer to/from the semi, to delivery confirmation. Three boxes were initially missing and later found sitting unattended in the building lobby. From ignored communication to inaccurate inventory, unexpected fees, and careless handling of belongings, this move was disorganized and unprofessional from start to finish. Mayzlin Relocation should be “never consider” for anyone looking for a good moving experience.

However, that was not the case. Over the following weeks of unpacking, I realized a number of packed boxes did not make it. Some important possessions went missing, including household goods, tools, home decor, etc. The local delivery crew was efficient as well as the initial packing crew. It surprises me that while they inventory everything up front, no such comparison is done at delivery. Almost seems like a waste of time in the long run. What happens to the things not delivered?

When my belongings finally arrived, several items were damaged and others were missing. The delivery crew then attempted to charge me additional money on the spot, claiming my hallway was a “long haul.” They also told me they do not work directly for Mayzlin and are outsourced contractors. This directly contradicts Mayzlin’s claim that they manage every part of your move. Overall, this was an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience, with poor communication, missed timelines, damaged property, and surprise charges. I would strongly advise anyone considering Mayzlin to look elsewhere.

Mayzlin’s website stated that they do not use 3rd parties to transport but that was a lie. When I spoke to the driver about the damage he said he had nothing to do with Mayzlin. He was just hired to deliver. It took them two months to deliver my things and they obviously didn’t secure the items. They showed up in the biggest moving truck I’ve ever seen in hopes of getting me to pay more money for a shuttle even though they knew how big the apartment complex was because they told me it had a loading doc. Would not take my items off the delivery truck until I signed and paid for the move.

I was so stressed that I initialed a waiver I shouldn’t have so I’ll be lucky if I see any money. If the date I signed on the paperwork and the driver’s date are different (he signed it as the day after it actually happened) does that make a difference? Even though I will probably not get compensated for my loss I will contact the departments you folks have listed so hopefully no one else has to go through this.

1) (The biggest complaint) - There is no single point of contact, no one person assigned to our move. Responsibility on the Mayzlin side shifted with every phase of the move, from Sales to scheduling to Quality Assurance to pickup to transport to delivery. The single biggest improvement Mayzlin could make to their business would be to assign a single person to shepherd each move from the beginning to the end (at least after sales).

1a) The vehicle transport was subcontracted to other non-Mayzlin companies. This was not explained. We were expected to communicate with them directly, even though our transport agreement was with Mayzlin, not any other company. And payment was very unclear, with an initial portion going to Mayzlin and the final portion going to the transport company.

2) Payment methods are non-standard and not well explained - basically only cashier's check or cash in the field (cards were OK for on-line payments only). When you are moving to a new area and you do not have banking yet established there, this creates a BIG PROBLEM. Most people cannot get a cashier's check, and do not carry large amounts of cash.

3) At the Quality Assurance phase, Mayzlin wanted to do the review by video only - this is NOT sufficient. Communication by video will never replace communication in person, and can never be as thorough.

4) Mayzlin miscalculated the size of the truck necessary for pickup, and had to strap our belongings to the back outside of the truck.

Most of the people we worked with in the field were pleasant and professional - my complaints are mostly about administration.

We received zero proactive updates, only vague, repetitive excuses from customer service when they did decide to response. When we tried escalating, we were either ignored or told our concerns would be "passed to dispatch," with no resolution. When our belongings finally arrived, most of the boxes were severely damaged, crushed, or completely broken open. A number of items inside were destroyed, and multiple pieces of furniture were scratched, broken, or rendered unusable. We are now forced to file claims for the damage, but based on others' experiences, we’re not optimistic we’ll be compensated fairly—or at all.

Unfortunately, it’s clear that our situation is not an isolated incident. After our experience, we discovered hundreds of reviews from other customers describing the exact same treatment: long delays, false promises, poor communication, and severely damaged goods. This company should not be allowed to operate in the moving industry. We are filing formal complaints with the BBB, FMCSA, and our state’s transportation authority. I urge anyone reading this: DO NOT trust Mayzlin Relocation with your home or belongings.

Truck driver was very rude and did not want to cooperate with me for the proper placement of the items. He even left someone else TV in my garage until I told him that this is not mine. See the attached photos for evidence. Overall, very unprofessionally handled my moving and did not care about my items. Definitely not the right moving company for long distance moving.
