Do not trust this company. Not even a little!!! United Region Van Lines took one of the most stressful experiences of our lives and turned it into an absolute nightmare. I want to save anyone reading this from making the same mistake we did. The sales rep quoted us $9,973 for a full Colorado-to-Massachusetts move after a video walkthrough of our entire home. He pressured us to sign on December 31st with a "year-end discount expiring today." That urgency was manufactured. The low quote was a lie.

Charges piled on at every turn: items deliberately left off the list, a surprise treadmill surcharge on moving day, a $1,213 "recalculation" the week before, and a $3,000 shuttle fee buried in the fine print. By the end, our bill was $19,808, nearly double what we were promised! When I refused to pay, the mover asked what he should take off the truck. We were moving across the country. There was nothing to leave behind. They knew that. We were forced to pay 60% in cash and money orders just to guarantee our belongings would be delivered at all.

Delivery took 28 days when the contract says 0-17 days. We sat in our new home in Massachusetts for a month with no furniture, no beds, no kitchen, nothing but what fit in our SUV. No apology. No compensation. When our stuff finally arrived, boxes were crushed and multiple items were broken. Worst of all, they lost our children's growth stick, every height marked from birth to today. Gone. After weeks of a grueling claims process, they offered us $86. And they had the audacity to attach a non-disparagement agreement to that offer, requiring us to stay silent in exchange. We refused. When I called to complain on moving day, a rep told me I "shouldn't always trust people." That is who you are dealing with. STAY AWAY! This company should not be in business, they are the worst.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Terrible service, communication and completely unreliable. My first clue should have been when they showed up 8 hours late and told me that they had to pack and load that evening. Had to stop them at 2am. They finished the next day. They didn’t show up with the delivery for 26 days even after telling me that they leaving next day for a 2 day drive. They delivered my items with only the driver to unload. Three hours later one additional person arrived. I verified every box that came off the truck only to discover 8 boxes missing. The driver actually verified that they were missing and contacted the office. I completed the necessary online documentation. Today I received an email saying that they have settled my claim for $75.00!!!! 5 picture boxes, 2 medium boxes and a dish pack! What an insult! I can’t even give one star.

      Reviewed March 30, 2026

In December 2025, we contracted with United Regions Van Lines (URVL) to move our elderly father’s household goods from IL to AZ. When the movers arrived, they acknowledged they did not speak fluent English, as such they had a hard time explaining and answering questions about the process, paperwork, payment, etc. Upon completion of their initial inventory at the site, we were told to sign the inventory sheet, and an email copy would be provided to us later that day. In fact, three days later we had to request the inventory sheet from our “Customer Service” representative, Phyllis.

Upon finally receiving this inventory sheet we noted items listed that we did not move (or own). To be clear, these items were never loaded on the truck because they were not present – we do not own them. These include:
      • 6 chairs
      • 5 shelves

      • 6 extra medium boxes

We were charged an additional $1,042.48 for the “additional” square footage and fuel surcharge that would have been consumed on the truck if these items were loaded and moved. Again, we do not own these items, and they were NOT loaded or shipped. Upon discovery, we immediately contacted corporate Customer Service representative, Phyllis. She advised us there was nothing they could do until the goods were delivered and to have the delivery driver note this in their final report. Upon delivery, we were forced to sign the delivery inventory and pay the balance BEFORE they would unload the truck. After all the goods were unloaded, we discussed with the driver (Mike) the items listed on the inventory sheet that were not delivered (because they don’t exist). Mike confirmed these items were not on the truck and therefore were not delivered.

Mike took photos of the items that were delivered (we watched him take the photos) and agreed the items in question were not included in the delivery. He advised us he would write up his report, include the photos and confirm their absence then forward to their home office for resolution. We have inquired numerous times with their Customer Service Agent, Phyllis, who initially claimed not to have received the report or photos. Weeks later, Phyllis claims that the driver’s report did not note any discrepancies with the inventory sheet and that no pictures were received. We have attempted to resolve this with URVL to no avail. We are essentially being challenged to prove a negative. The items referenced DO NOT exist and WERE NOT loaded, moved or delivered.

URVL will not provide any other contacts to speak with about this and advise us to “email the contact us” on their website (which we have done multiple times) and one of the “higher ups” would contact us (which they have not). Phyllis is now “done with this” and will not return calls or emails. We have no other employees or phone numbers to contact regarding this issue. According to Phyllis, our three previous contacts with the company, sales, accounting, and quality assurance have all been fired due to poor performance. This company has shown a pattern of lies and deceit to overcharge their customers. We respectfully request a refund in the amount of $1,042.48 for those items that were never loaded, moved or even ever existed.

This company is fraudulent, their customer service is beyond a joke, and someone should hold them accountable. Their website and representatives misrepresent their actual charter:

      • It states they operate out of WI – not true. They operate out of FL. They may have a license in WI but their operations are based in FL

      • It states they own all of their trucks and have their own full-time employees – They do not. We confirmed this with the drivers (delivery and pick up) who indicated they are in fact sub-contractors and the tractor trailers are also leased. It could be that the crews we were assigned are an anomaly and every other crew/rig are owned by URVL and staffed by their own W2 employees, however, given their pattern of lies and half truths, I would bet this is not an anomaly.

      • We were told that the goods would be delivered between 0 and 17 business days from the first available delivery date. When we inquired about delivery on or around the 17th day, we were then told the goods would be delivered between 0 and 17 days not including weekends and holidays, even though the goods were picked up on a Saturday and delivered on a Sunday. The goods were finally delivered 32 days excluding weekends and holidays (48 total days) from the first available delivery date.

      • We attempted to contact the delivery driver, Mike, to get his copy of the report, photos or other corroborating evidence to present to Phyllis and now his cell number has mysteriously been disconnected and we are unable to contact him. Seems rather convenient.

In our life/careers, we have moved around a dozen times for work and personal relocation. We have never been treated so poorly by a moving company. This is not some random consumer who doesn’t know the difference. We do know how this is supposed to work and this company is fraudulent at best.

CAUTION-FRAUD-BAIT & SWITCH - DO NOT USE UNITED REGIONS VAN LINES!! This is the most dishonest company I have ever done business with. They give you a low estimate to get you to sign a contract. On moving day, they show up with a rented box truck claiming this is the way they do things vs a trailer. I was told I had 2,500 cubic feet of goods which I knew I had more. Once they load the 2,500 cubic feet on the rented box truck, they ask if you would like to stop the loading process to stay w/in contract or move forward with a 2nd truck. Obviously you have to get the 2nd truck or they will leave your remaining items behind. Upon delivery, I was told that they had to rent trucks to unload as the driver couldn't get the truck down my "narrow" street although all of my neighbors didn't have issues. I had to come up with $3,700 CASH to get my goods delivered.

I asked for an itemized receipt to see what I was being charged for but they were unable to provide any details. I had may items broken and some items that were missing. Their insurance process is another joke. There's a lengthy online process to fill out and once completed, they sent me an offer for $75.00 to settle my claim. The only other option was arbitration which probably would have cost me more than what I wanted out of the claim. All in all, what started out as a $16,896.04 estimate for my move from Palm Desert, CA to Ponte Vedra, FL, ending costing me $31,470.99. Do yourself a favor, use anyone else vs URVL, you'll have a more professional move and a lot less stress. Read the other reviews, seems that most of us had a similar experience. How are the ** still in business?

This is a scam scum moving flim flam organization. They quoted us $13,000 for a move from Maryland to Florida and the final bill was over $30,000. Things were broken. Wood floors were scratched by complained, filled out forms and could never reach anyone. Nothing was ever responded to. It was as if our number was blocked and our communication was censored.

They use contract Movers that they hire off of craigslist. They pile everything up in one location. They don’t move things into your rooms. It was one of the worst experiences of our lives. We are still digging out, repairing the floors and fixing broken furniture. Unfortunately, we went with this company based on consumer reports, why did they miss the Mark on this company. I wouldn’t suggest having them move my dog’s house. Phillip ** and Phyliss if that’s their real names, were all liars. This company should be shut down. I wouldn’t suggest them to my worst enemy.

When I scheduled my move I also told the company I wanted them to pack my kitchen glassware. When the movers arrived, they weren't aware they were supposed to do so, but told me they were experienced and proceeded to pack al my glass. When I unpacked, I found multiple items they packed had been broken while the only items I packed that were broken were in a box the movers put a big hole in. When the van arrived to be unpacked it was packed so full that the first item removed was fell on ground and items fell out of it. I was also missing some items and given items that did not belong to me. I filed a claim and received a check. When the bank went to cash it, we found it bounced so I received nothing.

Not even sure why I would give them one star?!!. This is an awful company. They upped the price. They took over the 30 days with minimal communication. They lost/stole/sold? at least half of what they were supposed to move. Multiple attempts to recoup on my losses through their "nonpartisan" claims group, as well as attempts through BBB have gotten me nowhere except to have to receive minimal feedback accepting no responsibility for my losses. This is not a company to be trusted. The only way to get back anything on my losses will have to be litigation.
