I need to warn others about a scam run by Bronze Moving Companies. After booking a POD for my long-distance move from Wisconsin to Arizona through PODS, I contacted movers from their recommended list. The next day, a number called me, pretending to be that mover, saying PODS hadn’t confirmed them and they had another partner who could do the move quickly. Now, looking back, I believe Bronze Moving Companies somehow got my number, as I never contacted them before. The second number they gave me also led back to them.

After all this, I called PODS directly to confirm with the actual movers they scheduled, and they had no idea this was happening—my move was never canceled. Meanwhile, the fake movers showed up, demanded $2,000 more, even counting tiny items like a pillow cushion as separate pieces. They were incredibly rude, even saying I wanted “Wizard of Oz” pricing. I did sign a contract with them, as I didn’t carefully check the header, so I know I’m responsible for the deposit, which is fine. I tried opening a dispute with my credit card company, citing that I was given false information and hired the wrong company. I just want others to know this was a brutal scam from start to finish, and I don’t want anyone else to lose their money or be misled like I was.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING RELATED TO YOUR MOVE!!!!! This company is an absolute scam and 2 years ago I used them to move from San Antonio to NYC. They changed the price of the quote twice, then changed it again once the actual movers showed up. They then claimed they would deliver my belongings on New Year's Day 2024 and that never happened. They held my property outside of Dallas, TX for almost a month.

I lived the first two weeks in NYC with only the property I was able to fit in my car that I drove to NYC Slept on an air mattress, had to buy a futon just to have something to sit on and had to spend $750 on clothes just so I could have dress clothes for work. I also moved with a 14 YO dog that had to live in an apartment with no furniture. When the mover finally showed up, he arrived at 9 PM two weeks after the promised delivery date and wouldn't even begin to take my items off the truck until I gave him the money order for the final payment. Only one mover showed up at my NYC apartment, SO I HAD TO HELP MOVE THE STUFF OUT OF THE TRUCK.

And he still asked for a tip. It was by far one of the worst experiences of my life. Bronze Star IS NOT A MOVING COMPANY and is just a middleman. You will have a terrible experience if you hire them. I also filed a complaint with the Department of Transportation because of how bad of an experience I had. I have text messages and e-mails confirming their lies and the whole experience was absolutely terrible. DO NOT TALK TO THIS COMPANY AT ALL FOR ANYTHING. They are liars, cheaters and scammers. See below the text I recieved from Bronze Star completely lying about the delivery date and never responding to my text about how the movers never showed up. Also included screenshots from the BBA and USDOT showing the number of complaints filed.

My movers were very sweet and fabulous. I was especially impressed with James's attention to detail. He definitely knew his woodworking and gave great advice to maintain a hand carved wooden hutch I purchased in Europe from 1920. The guys were timely, but careful. I was happy to get a great moving out of state overnight price.

BUYER BEWARE — Deceptive Practices. We hired Bronze Star/Moving Forward Group LLC for a long-distance move involving some furniture. Unfortunately, our experience mirrors many other complaints (see Better Business Bureau complaints) and highlights serious issues with transparency, pricing, and customer service.

Here are the key concerns of our move:

      • Misleading Quote Process: The initial quote was based on major inventory items and was said to include ample space for additional items. We were pressured to sign immediately to “secure a spot on the truck,” which turned out to be false — no truck was reserved, and no delivery dates were confirmed.

      • Price Doubling: The quoted price increased twice — once after submitting a photo inventory and again at pickup — ultimately more than doubling the original estimate.

      • Cubic Footage Manipulation: The company’s pricing hinges on cubic feet. They continued to change the required cubic feet during the various stages of the move, thus resulting in price changes. We strongly recommend independently measuring your items to verify their calculations.

      • Contract Confusion: Multiple contracts with conflicting terms, along with verbal and text promises that were not honored. The written contract heavily favors the company and contradicts any verbal agreements.

      • Broker Setup Shields Accountability: The company operates as a broker, deflecting responsibility to the moving company. This structure makes it difficult to track your move or resolve issues. With poor communication and transparency, it makes the move experience very difficult.

      • Poor Handling and Rude Behavior: Our move was ultimately handled by Moving Forward Group LLC, which we weren’t informed of until pickup. They lost a box, damaged others, and refused to engage respectfully when contacted.

In our opinion, Bronze Star and Moving Forward Group LLC engage in deceptive business practices that undermine consumer protection. We urge others to proceed with caution.

      Reviewed Sept. 18, 2025

!!!WARNING!!! This company is running a scam and gets away with it. They will steal your money. Contracted for a move with a 2600cu ft truck including my tool boxes. Originally paid for a 2100 Cu ft. Pictures and emails of tool boxes and all stuff being moved-No problem they said. On move day they came with a truck of about 1700 cu ft NOT 2600. Then they proceeded to attempt to extort more money for another truck. The truck they came with was only up to 1700 cu ft, a full 900 cu ft too small.

They said they couldn't move any of my tool boxes and only some furniture and boxes saying it was too small for the lift gate. I measured and moved the larger box to the lift gate and the toolbox would fit all the way on and still had room to stand etc. They promised the toolboxes could be loaded, saw the pictures repeatedly over 2 months, and I even broke the largest down anyway from one large to 5 smaller. On move day the movers refused to move them without even trying or touching them and made a bunch of excuses besides the lift gate that was shot down.

They said they needed to transfer the items to another truck and even if they could load the toolboxes they couldn't get them on the semi-truck in LA to drive to Texas because they don't have lift gates. They knew they needed lift gates so why would they take the money and let us get to move day then send someone who has to do a transfer, has too small of a truck, and they don't have semi-truck lift gates. We were promised a "direct move" with "no transfer and "you're getting an expedited move..." on a recoded call, with notice I was recording. The movers that day attempted to extort more money out of us saying that even if they could load the toolboxes and get them on a simi, that they would need to rent a truck in Texas to transfer again to unload, wanting way more money for this.

They wanted more money to bring another truck. They brought too mall a truck to begin with. They needed 47% more capacity being 900 cubic feet too little. THEY DID NOT SEND THE CONTRACTED AMOUNT. They had 4 people including the driver. 2 of them were too old to lift anything and complaining the boxes were "too heavy" even though no one lifted a finger or a box. I am disabled and my left side has the strength of an 8-year old and I could lift every box. They just stood around for 2 hours making excuses and doing nothing.

The broker, they apparently are not the movers, said that they would send another company the next day and promised calls back and they never did, they went MIA. The next day a company called but they had the same problem with no liftgate and the need to transfer the items but unable to. We had to be out that day or face a $1000 fee a day. We had to hire someone else.

This companies MO is get the money and keep it whether you get moved or not. Find the cheapest company and try to legitimize it saying contract this and contract that. They make verbal promises and contradict themselves and make you feel comfortable until move day when they start the real scamming. Then if you don't pay and threaten dispute, they turn on you like a rabid dog. On move day the trucking companies get the cash to pickup and drop off and come scamming for additional money. It is a Mob style racketeering operation. They say they are a family business, so was the mob, lol.

Don't believe their responses. You can watch my videos and listen to the audio of this whole 2 months. They should be arrested for running a criminal enterprise and defrauding people. NEVER USE THIS FAKE NOT MOVING COMPANY BROKER. They will steal your money. They want to do the easy moves like you can do yourself with a U-Haul behind an SUV, not a real move. They never intended on moving us and new all along they couldn't do our move \because of the toolboxes then sent way too small of a truck to try to get a "breach of contract" out of us. We contracted a much larger truck so they breached contract. Their response below is LIES. They are LYING.

They also informed me that the initial company was canceling. I rescheduled with Bronze Star. They charged more than initial company. When I contacted initial company they informed I was not canceled. I contacted Bronze Star to get a refund and they charged me 15 percent even though I was scheduled to move 1.5 months out. The individual I spoke to was the one who informed me I was canceled from initial company. I will be follow up regarding the refund and business practice.

This company is a broker not a moving company. They will quote you 1 price and you then the moving company comes in, it will be a total different price. Plus this company is not transparent. Very rude and when you ask to speak to the manager the employee will lie and say she is the boss. I lost 1000.00 with these people. Don't do the same! If you're not happy with them you are only given 72 hours to request a refund and that is if they choose to give you your refund. And you have to submit the refund in writing! They will quote you one price then raise it a few days before the move when you send a picture and they "realize" you have more cubic feet than they thought. But assure you that you only have to pay for what you use. Then the mover comes and says you have even more cf and ups the price again. Was told they could deliver in 2 -3 days because they could only drive so far (my move was 591 miles and the limit was 400 in one day), but 4 days later I'm being told it could be up to 9 more days because I didn't pay for priority shipping which I was never told about. Their contracts are full of "gotchas" that make it impossible to argue with and the last minute price raising makes it impossible to find another company.... Plus by that point you are past the refund time.
