I recently hired America 1st Moving Company for my cross-country relocation, and I couldn't be more impressed with the service. From the initial quote to the final box being unloaded, the entire team demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and genuine care. Moving is notoriously stressful, but their coordinators made the logistics feel seamless. They provided a transparent, competitive estimate with no hidden fees, which gave me great peace of mind.
On moving day, the crew arrived right on time, energized and ready to work. They handled my fragile antiques and heavy furniture as if they were their own, using high-quality packing materials to ensure everything stayed secure. They are an efficient business and are such a helping company. America First Moving company has my thumbs up. I'll make sure if I ever need their help again I'll choose this company. Well..let me tell you...if you need an awesome moving company? This is the one for you. The prices are fair. Not the cheapest..but not the most expensive. The moving men? Wow. Strong but gentle. Answered all my questions and treated my stuff with respect. And very helpful...I just had open heart surgery....they wouldn't let me lift a finger. They took care of everything and if I ever move again? I will absolutely be using them again. America 1st Moving rocks!

America First Movers did an amazing job. They put my all of my beds together, all the boards and neeted up my bed and when I called them, they answered right away and the people were very respectful. They caused no damage and did everything with extreme carefulness.

I had to come on here and leave the guys at America First 5 stars. Really professional and studious service. On time, clean and quick. Fair rates, had their own equipment and left no damage or trash behind. Much better than a couple of other companies we've used in the past.

Do not use this company! They will give you A BINDING CONTRACT and then at the last second tell you that you owe them double, the day before your move! The contract IS BINDING and they will make you feel obligated to pay more out of panic, and then you're stuck with out a moving company. Terrible business. I got screwed out of over double my first contract, despite nothing changing with my move, though they claimed I had double the amount without ever seeing my items. It is a scam. AVOID AVOID AVOID! I only have a 1 bedroom apt, and my stuff took up the amount of space I had purchased, but they wouldn't pick up my things if I didn't pay double!

We used this company for our move across country and it was a total disaster. We paid over 7k to move a 2-bedroom house. We went over every item and gave exact measurements to Noah. They came back with we needed 2100 cubic feet. 2 days before moving, they call to verify all we were taking. I was told by Eric buy another 300 cubic feet to be safe for another 579 dollars, so we did. Then moving day comes, the moving company Bristol Movers and Storage LLC they contract. The mover wearing Ugg slides immediately comes in house and demands another 1600 because the 2400 cubic feet can only fit our 2 bedrooms of furniture and a few boxes. Then when I refuse, he is yelling in Arabic at someone on phone.
I called Noah like he said, on his “personal number “ he gave me, if any problems. Well that personal number was just to customer service desk and you will never get to speak with Noah again. I was told by customer service girl that they estimated the size but the moving company knows better how much they can fit. So you have 3 options: pay them the ransom to get your belongings moved, leave 1/2 your house behind or send movers away and lose your 4K deposit.
So I had to end up paying another 2,200 dollars in addition to 7,5k to get my belongings moved. When the movers do deliver the furniture and it’s all chipped and scratched your then told fill out an insurance claim form for anything damaged. The offer is to reimburse you for 60 cents per pound, so when my bed was brought off truck broke into pieces, I’d get 60 bucks for it. When I said don’t even bother leaving that bed broken and covered in grease hand stains, I was told it's not their job to get rid of my trash. Yes, I paid 10k for them to move my trash. Funny, prior to dealing with them, I was moving my furniture and belongings, and when it was delivered after their handling, it was trash.

Experience with this company was awful, very bad. Late picking up, tacking on over $2000 in extra fees. Not having enough room on their truck. Spoke very broken English with sketchy explanations for additional fees! When speaking with Logistics engineer he assured me everything was set. Tried to get in touch him 3 times about the situation. Got NO REPLY. Supervisor was no help at all!

I would recommend it America First Moving. They were more helpful than the other company was. They answered a few questions I had. Getting a quote was simple for the most part. Also, they were there within a couple of days to get me moved. I needed to get moved by that weekend. It was early in the week when I called. They were able to make it happen quickly. The crew packed very carefully, and took care of our stuff. The crew moved everything and staged it all up in the new place. They did an excellent job. The main guy was very helpful. It was a good experience.

A friend told me I should use America First and when I was shopping around, the other companies were saying bad things about other companies. But I didn't get that from America First. They explained the whole thing and were very straightforward. They weren’t overselling me, which was a big thing that my friend told me to watch out for. The price was fair, all my stuff got there quickly, and most importantly, my wife was happy. I did all the packing myself, and the crew packed some things professionally. I couldn’t be happier with how they loaded the truck. I’ve never done a long-distance move, but all my things arrived just fine. The guys were friendly and quick, and my neighbors didn't even notice. So, that's great. Moving is not the greatest thing to do, but they made it easier for me, and I'm very happy.

I was moving out to Arizona and when I was looking for a mover, the first company that I looked at didn't give me the best price option. I was looking for the next best price option, and I thought it would end up being America First Moving Services, but it wasn't. Getting a quote was the simpler part with them. They told me over the phone what the price was going to be and they weren't too stingy or mean about that.
There was a lady and a gentleman during the move. However, it turned out to be my desk being all sorts of messed up. They stripped the screws. They were trying to get everything done as fast as they could. When they finally arrived with my stuff about a month later, the truck driver refused to drive into building, let alone help me unload and bring stuff up to my apartment, which was part of the deal that America First Moving Services originally agreed with for me. They were saying that they would help me move, that they would help me do everything and put my desk back together. But they did no such thing. America First Moving Services is not transparent at with you at all. They don't give you updates like they say they would do. They would also delay you as much as they can. Do not use them.

We ended up going with this moving company for a cross-country move from Rhode Island to California, I would steer clear if you want a seamless, trouble-free moving experience. The reason for the one star is based on their communication, professionalism of the contracted company they choose to do business with, and the overall quality of the service they provided. First off, communication was terrible, I started off with one person, was passed around and received communication from three different people from various phone numbers and email addresses. When it came to pick-up and delivery, you did not know until the day before they were planning on arriving, no communication prior to that with confirmation. It was especially stressful on the receiving end when I had to call into the company three times to get a confirmed potential date of delivery.
The companies they contract out to need to be vetted a little more closely. The person we had at pick up was very rude, yelled at my partner and the property manager at the building I was moving from. The way they handled my belongings was abysmal, throughout the entire process, pick-up, storage, and delivery. When we FINALLY received our belongings, EVERY box was damaged in some way, even boxes marked "FRAGILE" and "TOP ONLY" had some sort of crush damage. The screws on my desk were stripped out and now I am having to replace the entire top of my desk or modify it in some way to make it fit the stand. We had five of eight plates that were broken during shipment, along with three bowls, and two large serving platters.

Super nice and respectful movers. They were great and even managed everything in the very cold weather we are having. They wrapped all the furniture and kept everything nice during the move. They double checked everything well in the documents too and were easy to coordinate with.

The team did great work. Quick and efficient moving with care taken for all items. Overall a good move and on time. The team expertly maneuvered a few challenging items. Movers were: Noe and Eddie. The team was able to arrive a day early. The weather in Chicago was horrible and the team pushed through getting the move done.

Terrible service, price increased on date of move, because the movers had numbered tags 1 to whatever. Charged due to number of boxes, regardless of size. Things were broken, scratches on some items. Miss handled lawn mower, cost to repair $500, in addition to ruined paint job. When they left our house, said they would store for 3 days, so could be delivered the first of next week. However, when we got to address, phone call to company, and no one knew the location of my household items. Said it would be a few dates to a week to get it delivered.
After many phone calls, finally received items, some broken, many items missing. It was apparent someone had rummaged through many of the boxes, tape was cut open. Finally determined the original truck was emptied into warehouse, then repacked into different truck. When trying to talk to the customer service person, they were always busy, no return calls. An extremely expensive and difficult move. At this time no hope of any compensation, but hopefully alert others.

Moved from upstate NY to Florida. Great experience when items picked up in NY. Guys were Great and attentive. Delivery in Florida a whole different story. I contacted carrier for delivery at our new address and provided location. This was a residential move, not commercial. A few days prior to delivery I was contacted by driver that he could deliver the next afternoon (Saturday) if his first stop went quickly, if not it would be Sunday morning. I agreed that would be fine. He said he was driving a tractor trailer. I informed him that he would not get the truck to my home. That my residence was in a mobile home park. The roads and turns would not accommodate a truck that size. He said "We will see." Again I told him he will not get the truck to my home. Received the same answer. "We will see."
Delivery ended up early Sunday morning. He was at entrance and asked where my home was. I went down and picked him up and drove him 2 different routes to my home. Final determination? He can't get the truck to my home but would get as close as possible and walk between my neighbors' homes. I don't know the neighbors (I just moved there). And had no way to get their permission to do so. He said they will have to understand. He gave me the paperwork and stated it would be $100.00 additional because it was a long carry to my home. I had no choice but to pay it.
I at that point took my vehicle down to his truck and let the guys load my vehicle full of boxes and I drove back to my residence where they unloaded it. There were only a few larger items they had to carry. Then I noticed my rolling tool cabinet was damaged. I mentioned to the driver and and pulled open a few drawers and said, "It's not too bad" and brushed me off. The cabinet was bent sideways. I will mention his 2 helpers were great. I paid extra because the truck he or his company provided was too big to get to my home. Again this was a residential delivery.

They first quoted me at $4300 and when they showed it sky rocketed to $5300!! Seriously! Almost every piece of furniture I have got damaged one way or another and they lost a bedframe. When they picked up they were Pack & Go. When they delivered I have NO idea who they were. Some foreign man and his side kick. I cannot ever recommend this company!!

When valid additional charges arose at pickup (there were total charges of $345 - $145 in packing charges and $200 in bulk handling), America First even advocated on your behalf to have these charges reimbursed to you by the carrier as a courtesy, above and beyond our contractual obligations, with your satisfaction in the forefront of our objectives. You have declined this offer from management.
We also reviewed the claims-filing process with you to address the damages, as submitting a claim is required to receive compensation. We have yet to receive any documentation of the damage that you stated was incurred. Several supervisors have spoken with you in an effort to reach a fair resolution, including offering courtesies not required under your contract, but these were declined.

Due to 2 completely unrelated, unexpected health related emergencies, I had to put my moving plans on hold and then eventually cancel completely. When I initially put the reservation I did it based on pricing alone. After reserving I read some of the reviews and I became concerned with what I was reading about previous experiences with the company. For that fact alone I canceled my reservation. ***PURE NIGHTMARE*** If I could give a negative 0, I would! It has been 6 months, no resolution at all and NO furniture and out of over $9000!!!! NJ sales person told us that America 1st is a self-contained one stop shop and will deliver door-to-door for our international move to the Dominican Republic from North Carolina. NJ continued to reassure that their company would be great for the international move and that his guys would love to take a vacation to the DR and we had nothing to worry about. NJ proceeded to tell us that America 1st would also take care of customs, the fees and so forth once our belongings reach the port in the DR.
We paid our deposit that was over $4000, pick-up date set for May 24, 2025, paid for so-called boxes for our tvs, a large mirror and a large picture. A U-Haul pulls up and only one guy to move our belongings name John. We had our belongings that were being shipped already boxed up and ready to go. John stated that we would need to pay an extra $1700 because of the cubic size of the container. First point of contact NJ did not say anything of that nature. We refused to pay the extra $1700. John contacted someone and that was the end of the conversation. Now, the boxes that we paid an extra $250 for the TV's, mirror and the picture; were just regular U-Haul moving boxes that were broken apart. Two other random guys pulled up hours later to assist John with the loading the U-Haul. We provided a cashier's check to John over $3000 once the U-Haul was loaded.
I wouldn't think that on May 24, 2025 would be the last day that we would see our furniture. Next thing we know, we received an email from UShip Van Lines (also known as RADO Express), received the contract; had to make two more payments before our belongings could be scheduled for pick-up. Made the payment over $1300, and the last payment over $1900 once we receive our furniture. We're 6 months in, way beyond the delivery date of August 24, 2025. We have called America 1st numerous times over and over just to get the complete run around. We have spoken with Brian, Jessica, Eric, Matt; probably the entire company at this point.
Today was the day, called back for a follow-up because Tuesday we were told that they reached out to UShip and waiting for an update. Each time that we have called, placed on hold; your shipment is in transit, your shipment is still in storage and you owe for 60 days of storage fees (we only had storage for 30 days and the fee was waived), your belongings are at the Miami port, now it's in transit, still waiting to assign a driver; the list and the plot continues with the same verbiage with no end! Today, called to get a follow-up and was speaking with Matt, all of a sudden Jason (Manager) took over the call. Where do I begin?
First, I did not ask to speak with Jason. I was speaking with Matt. Jason thought that he would just bully me and that I was just going to be quiet and listen as if I was his child. That was not going to happen. Jason wanted to out talk me, and didn't care about our concerns. No one would tell us where our furniture is located, nor provide any resolution. We keep getting excuses, well we're the broker not the carrier. I expressed once again, that America 1st is the first direct point of contact. You took a large deposit just to leave us abandoned.
Jason sent an email to UShip but at this point the way we have been mistreated; is pointless. We haven't received an apology or what can we do; just straight attitude from this company without any empathy or respect. We are very frustrated and disheartened that we have come to the conclusion that we may never see our belongings again. This company is nothing more than a SCAM and has taken our money and has provided a MAJOR DISSERVICE!!!! We have filed several federal disputes today after my conversation with Jason. We have already taken legal action with our financial institution for FRAUD, and I will be filing a dispute with our Attorney General in the morning. We shouldn't have to go to these in-depth measures to retrieve our furniture!!!

I recently moved from Kansas City, Kansas to Dayton, Ohio with my girlfriend and I want to point out that this moving company made our relocation as easy and stress-free as possible. 👍🏻 The guys arrived exactly on time (even though I had to change the time) and carefully packed our things. The three man crew worked quickly, efficiently, and without any unnecessary fuss, it was clear I guess they had a lot of experience. We can’t say enough good things about our movers from Stanford Van Lines, Inc who were Alex and Alexsei. They showed up early, were super organized, and super careful with the furniture. Do not recommend. They are scummy. Raise prices and are not transparent on that at the start. Their cancellations is like 10 days ahead of them coming and if you had asked for expedited services, you are sol, if you didn’t have 10 days to begin with. They wanted to give $500 shut-up money when we reached out after they won the credit card dispute. The contract is 23 pages and it feels like they are legally scamming us. We didn’t even let them take our stuff because we got worried, they were extremely rude. We did U-Haul instead and paid some people to help with that. Much better experience just doing it that way. And cheaper even after paying guys for help.

We experienced a bait and switch. We were told 3 movers and a supervisor would show up. Only two showed up. We were told a set price only to have it switched on us. When we called we were sent to multiple people and were told we could not back out without losing 2500 dollars. Now we are told they will only move 37 pieces or pay an additional 1500 to 3000. Total price to move 37 pieces was over 5300 dollars. What a scam.

Updated on 11/03/2025: I was hopeful that my experience at pickup was not a sign of things to come. Unfortunately, my Steinway piano arrived at my home severely damaged. One leg was broken off, the music stand that had been doweled and glued was ripped away, and all four corners showed clear signs of impact consistent with being dropped.
When the truck arrived, the piano was leaning precariously and covered by only a single moving blanket. I have photo and video evidence documenting this condition, and the driver signed the delivery receipt acknowledging the extensive damage. It did not end there. The movers were so unprepared that I had to physically help them remove the piano from the truck. Other items were handled with the same lack of care. My projector was packed with no padding at all, just placed sideways in a box with books and cutlery. Plates arrived broken. Furniture that was not flat-pack had been disassembled without permission, with glued dowels torn apart.
The negligence during both pickup and delivery was unacceptable. When I contacted America First to request a refund of their fee, supported by clear evidence, they refused to investigate my claims, saying that even speaking to me was a "courtesy." They accused me of being dishonest and blamed me for getting upset after that serious accusation. Avoid this company at all costs. I wish I had dug deeper into other reviews before hiring them.
Original Review: Truly awful company. They rush you through paperwork and then find every way to upcharge you using fine print. Friend when they’re selling, demeaning and awful when you call to figure out why the price of your tiny move is now much higher. I felt scammed.

I hired this moving company from the advice of ConsumerAffairs. It has been the worst moving experience I have ever had, did not arrive with the correct truck to load a gun safe, truck wasn't big enough for all of our stuff had to come back the next day to load the rest of items. Amount that was going to be charged changed to 3 times the original amount. Took approx. 20 days to deliver and the moving company that was dropping of my items was Accessible Movers. They couldn't reassemble anything because they didn't have any hand tools. I took pictures of items that were damaged and sent a claim in, what I was going to receive from all this is $91.00 for every item that was damaged.

How dare you ---The entire experience was so terrible it would take up a book and my precious time. The people at "Pack N Go" were very bad and not very friendly or helpful. At the end of the day, they refused to take a large lamp and other things left in bathroom drawers including tools, bathroom supplies, rugs, pictures and much more. In fact, we had to go back with a truck to get these leftover items. Never in my life have I experienced your foolish and terrible service. Your so-called executives and everyone of you should stuff your head in disgrace.
I will warn everyone on Google to run run run! BTW, I did see simialr reviews on Google but my fault did not take them serious. I will make sure that no one with any sense ever uses you because in my opinion, like others, tag your company as a scam. To be clear and honest, your idiotic company is indeed a real SCAM of all moving companies that I have used in my lifetime. How dare you stay in business -I will also notify America First to be investigated by the Better Business Bureau of TEXAS --REQUESTING that you are banned in Texas as a VENDOR.
To be further clear, I have never ever experienced a list and if something is forgotten (because it is total nonsense anyway), the terrible movers refused to take important even some large items, because they were not listed. Do you think that we as consumers would even think that if something is not on your moronic list would not be taken? Who are you kidding? YOU must be Russian **.
So on Google expect a rating of one the worst marks ever. In reality, you deserve ZERO!! The best thing you could do is CLOSE YOUR COMPANY and save people from using you. Good move and they were prompt on calling and ensuring the move went well. They packed up and moved the boxes to the house in a nice truck and moved them to the house. The company comes with a insurance policy to replace all broken items and they unpack and set up all your boxes as promised.

I was planning on move from Alabama to North Carolina. I talked to this company and they asked when I needed my delivery made. I told them and they said okay. They arrived on U-Haul. That seemed suspicious. I thought they will load my furniture and drive to NC in a couple of days. They wrapped my furniture in handicap and charged 1000.00 extra dollars. I had to stay in hotel for 2 nights and then I had to buy an air mattress. I am 77 years old with broken arm. All my clothes are with my furniture. It has been one week and I still don't know when I will get my stuff or if I will. I was not told about my delivery at any time. I have never been treated like this. Please beware.

From the initial booking to the completion of the move, the process was riddled with misinformation, delays, lost items, and damage to my belongings. When I booked my move through the representative, Toni **, I was specifically told: "The total price would be $4,959.39," and that no additional charges would incur. I would have the full truck for my belongings. When I questioned why this was not on the contract, Mr. ** told me that the wording “household items” meant I would have the full truck. The same movers would handle both pickup and delivery. My belongings would remain on the same truck from pickup until delivery. None of these statements were true.
In reality, my items were picked up and taken to a warehouse, transferred to another truck, transported to Florida, and then handed over to a completely different moving company for delivery. This unnecessary handling created far more opportunities for loss and damage—and, unsurprisingly, several items are now missing and others are broken. The problems did not end there. On the day of pickup, the crew arrived late and then took an unnecessary two-hour break, further delaying the process. Their lack of professionalism was unacceptable. When my property was finally delivered, the problems continued. The movers who arrived for delivery had not been the ones to take the furniture apart and had no knowledge of how to reassemble it properly.
Furthermore, there were only two movers instead of the five who had handled the pickup. As a result, my family and I ended up doing a significant portion of the unloading and reassembly work ourselves. This was not what I paid for and not what was promised. While I was provided with a contact for filing a claim, the phone number does not appear to be a legitimate business line, and my repeated calls have gone unanswered. This complete lack of follow-through only reinforces my concerns about dishonesty and poor customer service.

Very very poor service! We were put off for 3 days excuses after excuse! We had to be out by certain time frame. I have 4 witnesses who were present, they left us stranded on the day we had to be out and keys turned in. They conned us on prices just for 5 pieces of furniture and boxes, they were to take pictures of what they were supposed to move only! They said they would give our money back in full, but they lied and now we are not. I’m 63 in a wheelchair, we have no money, they are terrible business!
According to our records, and as discussed directly, there were no additional charges applied to your account despite your communication with both America First and the on-site team that you were adding a large amount of property that was not previously disclosed. There were also sanitation conditions that the team was willing to overlook in order to ensure you were serviced within a timely fashion. Our team was dispatched as scheduled, and services were offered on-site at pick-up; however, you declined the services and asked the team to leave. While we respect your decision, it’s important to note that operational resources were already allocated based on the agreement in place.
Additionally, we made multiple attempts to contact you via both phone and email, leaving detailed messages to address any concerns and clarify the status of your move. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response prior to your decision to file a dispute. We want to emphasize that initiating a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the matter directly can be viewed as a serious issue, including potential fraud.

Over 20 years, I have made at least 8 long distance moves with several different movers. This one was the worst. I was up charged by over $2000 the morning of the move. Household goods were supposed to be delivered on a Saturday but didn't show up until Monday. The packing, loading and unloading was a disaster with no organization. Boxes were not marked for content. There was damage, breakage and missing items. The brackets to set up my bed and dresser were lost. Some items were moved to another truck and the movers denied that they were mine until I pushed the issue. Things were thrown into boxes with little care. Engaging this group was a huge mistake.. Don't be taken in by their eager sales techniques and smooth talking customer service people. If they call, hang up asap. I should have but didn't and am now dealing with results.

The original quote was $1700. 24 hours before move they call to review inventory. I was told almost half of what I had originally listed wasn’t on the original quote. Priced jumped to $3880. What can you do ONE day before a scheduled move. I have always pains by the size of the truck and the hour. Amber per item. The subcontractors movers they used where very professional and kind but this company overall lures you in with a reasonable price and the day before your scheduled move, after paying a deposit jacks up the price. They never explain that the day of the move you have to pay the movers in cash half upon pick up and then remainder when it arrives. Horrible way to do business. Felt taken advantage of by a company that is not honest upfront and then waits 24 ours out from move to “review” items only to jacks the price up. Complete scam. Stay away.

Seeing views, and personally experiencing a delay of approx. a month. It's highly unprofessional service. And still no delivery since 2nd of July when process was started. No idea of ETA.
No idea of who is delivery guy. No idea of when it's moving, etc., etc. It's a “no idea” and we “apologize” statement over and over again without resolution. And the truck is still in the same place more less since 4 weeks as I can see through my items in the bins. Lastly, keep your fingers crossed the things are fine considering the reviews. At the end if it's a ruin for you and not resolved, go through your federal body FMCSA or State Attorney General to complain. I didn't go through this pathway yet as I’ll wait 1-2 days more and will update. I won't change it if the company mentioned it resolved because it's not.

Please any and all consumers!!!! Beware!!!! Do not use this company! It is a brokerage company!!! They will sell you a loving and good pitch, then give your belongings to a company from a country that speaks no English and they hike up the prices and then they hold on to your furniture. My belongings were picked up on July 18, 2025 in Palo Alto California. To Date is July 25, 2025 and I have no earthly idea where my belongings are or when they will be ever delivered. I am a medical professional and many of my personal medical belongings are held up in some storage unit with the most unprofessional moving company I have ever dealt with. I was warned by reputable companies but I was gaslighted into using this company. I am so angry that I do not have my belongings and they could care less about your belongings.
I have been told that it is the summer time and they don't have enough trucks to movers, to my stuff would not fit on a truck that was going out and that they had to wait for another truck. That was two weeks ago. I have moved across the country many times over the years and when I say this is the worst...And I mean pretty bad service that I ever had. They get your deposit, the other company gets 70% of their monies...And you wait until god knows when to get your belongings!!! Do not, and please consider yourself warned, use this company!!!!

You want to get scammed and learn about breached contracts this is the place to go! Original contract started at $7900, signed and paid then they show up on Moving day. Said it was more boxes than expected they claimed (because a shoe box counts as a box) they upped the bill another $5k, demanded payment in cash. Then demands another $5k upon arrival also in cash. The contract said licensed and insured movers. We get to the destination and men from Craigslist were on our doorstep saying they were offered $20/hr.... I'm sorry what? No background check. No license, just random men from Craigslist?! So original contract went from $7900 to $17,900. And what can you do, you have to move? Everything is scheduled, they made us sign for additional fees, this is the highest form of entrapment.

When I initially made my reservation I attempted to cancel 3 times because the first woman I spoke to was very rude and was giving me misinformation, The manager Alex called me back and he reassured all my problems with the previous moving company that had my belonging hostage was going to be the last of their concerns, He explained how usually a moving company rather work directly with another moving company then the customer to retrieve my furniture. I trusted this man word unfortunately. Come to find out they are a broker working with random carriers as well which was the first lie, I uncovered once the driver attempted to call the other moving company the night before picking up.
I told this company numerous times to stop calling the other moving company because they did not want to speak to them and they did not have legal authority to represent me. The first attempt this company arrived and US safe moving falsely told them I had a balance due, Which I did not. The rude manager Alex confirmed that the driver left due to owing a balance. Alex said he will be able to help get my furniture and promised more. Alex and his carrier actually made my situation worst. As US safe moving confirmed that the driver or carrier cannot represent me or sign any documentation on my behalf. Alex made it seem like he was doing me a favor by waiving the rescheduling fee and telling me I have time to reschedule. I took his word again. Second time around I let this company know to NOT CONTACT US safe moving and I had a representative arriving; I attempted to confirm my inventory numerous occasions.

Hiring this moving broker was a terrible mistake. The partners they broker out your move to are sketchy and they have a common theme down, which is to jack up your move cost by thousands by claiming cubic feet overages. Which is not what you are told when you sign your contract with America First Moving. We went from $13k to $15k to $18k to $23k. And we never increased our load size from what we contracted with America First. So shocking when the brokered out movers come and tell you, you now owe an additional $8k. AND they say sure you’ll have your stuff by the date you need it, then as soon as they take off with your stuff they tell you they legally have 30 days to get your stuff to you. Which was NEVER mentioned in any of the many conversations we had.
Mike is who we talked to. I was fooled by his confident approach. And here we are almost 21 days later and still have not gotten our stuff. They keep saying it’ll be there within this 3 day window which keeps getting pushed and pushed and pushed. It’s a scheme they have and it should be illegal. I have seen a couple other reviews about other customers in the same boat who are filing a class action lawsuit. I will be jumping on that bandwagon. I have also seen photos from other reviews where the boxes arrive and are trashed and the goods inside broke and they receive no compensation for these damages.
We’ve been dealing with a Russian crew of Movers and drivers who are VERY sketchy. And they all know each other so I feel like it’s a ring of lies that are all entangled, with the leader being America First moving company. There is a Mike, a Jessica and another Jessica that we have been dealing with. This will be chalked up to THE biggest mistake I have ever made in my 50 years of life. HUGE terrible mistake, please beware and save yourself the agony of deceit, chest pains, lies, run around and broken personal items. I strongly recommend you run away fast from this company. In our move they brokered us out to Accessible Movers, Great American and New Horizon Relocations. Beware of all.

I had a great experience using America First Moving Service. From the getting a quote to got delivered, they were excellent. I was moving from Port St Lucie Florida to Redwood City California. After the pickup date was scheduled, smooth sailing all the way to get all my stuff. I was nervous as it’s a long distance move. The customer service is great. They are all very courteous, patient and professional. Always get back to me for the questions I had. The pickup crew was also very nice. They came on time and did everything promptly. So was the delivery guys. I am very satisfied to receive everything on schedule. Only has few minor damages. Consider such long drive I am more than happy with everything. On March 26, 2025, I hired America First Moving Services for a long-distance move, from Glen Allen, VA to Sarasota, FL. When I spoke on the phone with **, Sr Moving Coordinator with America First Moving Services, to set up my move, I asked ** if this moving company a Broker? He said “No”. I didn’t want consolidated movers.
On May 20, 2025, the movers that picked up my furniture, Top Tier Van Lines, loaded my furniture and belongings after taking inventory. I noticed there was already furniture on the box truck, and the gentlemen said it was going to Orlando. I was very disappointed to say the least. I tried not to worry thinking everything will be fine. My furniture and belongings were delivered on May 27, 2025. Unfortunately, the service was absolutely horrible because many of my belongings, including furniture that was damaged. The delivery team, Blue Light Movers, pointed out some items that they had notice were damage when they were loaded onto their truck. One of the carrier team members took his own pictures for reference.

Wonderful experience working with America First, they were patient and willing to work with me on cost and scheduling. Zero stars should be available! Oh god I’m just devastated and after reading reviews I’m sick. I want to find out how and if any of you waiting or who had to wait have taken action. Was sold by Bobby (good boy name) and paid a deposit. The actual contractor picked up my items late in a U-Haul cause the truck was broke down. Also had to sign a new statement for an additional 270 sqft at over $1000 that day in New Mexico and I’m now on my 18th day without my furniture. 3 different projected delivery dates with no call or update. Got someone who says they are a dispatcher who is telling me it’s “now” in Texas but they cannot seem to get it to me.
The money I’ve had to spend on food and everything that I thought I’d have by now is so expensive and if I don’t get my stuff or if they trash it I’m screwed. Please someone contact me and get me my stuff please!! We were moving less than 800 miles and had a 1 bedroom house. My estimate of loss isn’t astronomical but for 67 yo disabled husband and wife who are relocating for health issues it’s terrible and how do I swallow that as a consumer.

First off, our initial discussions with America First Moving Services was outstanding, we were scheduled very quickly and properly for our upcoming moving experience. My experience with America First Moving Services, who subcontracted Barahona's Moving & Storage, was extremely disappointing. While the initial estimate seemed fair, the situation quickly changed. After most of the work was done, they held the completion of the job hostage, demanding an extra $1,000. They also neglected to load furniture I had specifically requested be transported. Trapped and feeling pressured, I even inquired about the cost for two items I absolutely could not move myself, but ultimately felt I had no alternative but to pay the additional fee to get the job finished. This blatant bait-and-switch approach was incredibly unprofessional and left me feeling exploited. I strongly advise against using America First Moving Services. Potential customers should be extremely wary and insist on having every detail in writing. Even then, be prepared for potential surprise costs.

Date April 22nd I like to share my experience with America First Moving. Moving from Nashville TN to Washington dc. Not GOOD COMPANY. DON'T DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM. I told Blake ** that it's studio size. He put 20 boxes on contact. I told him numbers of time. We need more boxes. He said, "We will take care of you day before moving." I ask him when delivery date. He said it should be take 2 days. When I call for date he said call customer service. I called them. Jason said no fix date. It can take any time like 10, 15 or more. He said pay more money. I paid $1500 more to get delivery on time.
Day before Jim broke calls me go through inventory. I ask home need more boxes. I told Blake so many times. Jim said, "Pay another $1500 so you can have more boxes." Despite contracts only $1749 that they advertise. I paid more money. Movers came to house without boxes. Went to Home depot. Got only 20 boxes and squeezed in boxes chip tape used. Other stuff though in truck loose. Their truck was stinking. White lemp sheds were loose in truck. It has lots of black marks. When I call AFM they said what are talking about like they don't know anything and send me detail of insurance which is they pay 60 cent. I think all good reviews their friends or family is writing. My problem is they charge me not did good job. All leather jackets were ruined. This is fraud company.

Original Review: This has been the most horrible, unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. I'm barely getting back on my feet after going through several traumatic experiences that left me homeless for nearly a year. I've saved up money, literally not eating at times just to be able to get a moving company to bring me the only things I have left, after losing so many things already that can not be replaced. I was told that the price I was given would not be changed, it was all inclusive and that I could cancel.
The price had went up 3 different times, one of those being 6x the amount originally agreed upon. Then I was told they could bring me a few of my items (it's in storage in another state) for the original price. Everyone I had talked to after signing my paperwork were downright rude and horrible. They literally robbed me of everything now because they refuse to give me my money back.
I'm completely devastated and honestly shocked that ANY company can do business with this lack of integrity. I don't know how they sleep at night knowing they are literally stealing money from people with their dishonest business practices and lack of integrity. I would never recommend them and I hope they either adopt more honest policies or go out of business.

I gave a call to America First Moving and the guy broke it down real nice, by price and stuff, and it sounded like it was a great deal. The move was for about 60 miles and took the whole day because they did all the packing, then moved, then unpacked. They did a really professional job and were really considerate with all my stuff.

I used America First Moving for my move from California to Florida in September 2024. Overall the move went well. One issue that I faced was that the original binding contract was almost doubled on the day of the move. The delivery also took longer than expected, however it was within the guidelines for the distance of the move. Unloading was done quickly and efficiently, much faster than the loading. Their customer support representative Vanessa worked with me in getting a partial refund for the issue of a higher than expected price.

I moved for a job opportunity, plus I got tired of the cold weather. A friend of mine told us about America First Moving. Their quote was the best one that I had, and that's why I have them do the move. They moved two cars for me through an enclosed truck and I got them in three or four days. I recommended them to five of my friends who needed to move cars and I'm sure the two of them are using America First Moving already. Everything was great with them.

America First Moving had the best quote and setting up the move was simple. The person I worked with was very professional. I had no problems getting the services I needed. The move was for a four-bedroom, two-bath home. The quote was a little bit lower than the actual price, but it worked out.

My uncle, who lived in Las Vegas, passed away and so, we were liquidating his estate. We were selling his house and needed to empty out the house and move everything up to Washington. I was randomly looking online and America First Moving came up first. I contacted them and was happy with my experience with them. It was stress-free and worth every penny. They took so much stress off of our life.
We had everything already packed in boxes, so the two movers just re-secured all of our boxes and took an inventory of our possessions. We had a huge 6-foot gun safe and they moved it with no problem. That was our biggest hurdle but they loaded it on the truck and it was no issue for them. I can't stress that enough how much weight it just lifted off of our move. It was incredible.

As I saw previously, if zero stars was an option that is what I would give them. My contact was Jim and he was very cordial while selling me the moving services. The move was from KC to Sacramento and the items were picked up March 29th. Jim thought it would be there there by the following weekend April 5/6. The movers then called while I was in Sacramento and said it would be delayed a week to April 12/13. On April 9th I received another call saying the delivery would be delayed some more and they were not sure when it would get to Sacramento. All phone calls, texts and VM to Jim have not been answered. Customer service provides no additional information and says it is in the hands of the movers, Stanford Van Lines. At this point I do not know where my items are or when they will be delivered.
As for added costs, it looks like if they can not get the moving truck to where my apartment is located there is an additional cost of $350 to put items on a shuttle plus more fees if they need to move items more than 75 feet from the truck. I guess it makes sense why they only accept cash and cashiers check for payment. If it was credit card there would be too many payment disputes. I will update this review as things change.

They are crooks plan and simple. They use the bait and switch technique to lure you in then they jack up the price. In my case we were moving my mother from Arizona to California. They quoied me $1800. The day before moving they said it will now be $6000. I wish nothing but bad things for the folks who run this company!

This has been a great company to work with. The paperwork was easy to fill, sign and return to set up the move. They have helped my family every step of the way through an out of state move from New Mexico to Louisiana. I’m hoping I won’t have to move again anytime soon but if I do I will definitely do business with them again.

***BUYER BEWARE***. We originally were quoted $2500 to move our 1460 sq' home 20 miles. The mover called to confirm the move and requoted us $4400. They said we told them beds but not headboards. They claim we said dining room table and 2 chairs, we told them 4. We added 15 boxes to the original count and that added an additional $1900. Of course moving day is tomorrow so we are basically stuck paying almost twice as much. We picked them because of all the good reviews, I wonder who actually wrote them!

This is an honest review. I initially was going to use America First for my moving needs but my wife and I decided to keep our storage unit and take a lesser amount up to our new home in the Midwest. I ended up canceling the contract and America First, the billing department, and the sales representative have all been very helpful in the process of recovering my funds. This was the worst experience I have ever had with any company. They gave me a quote of $2800 but ended up costing me $7700. Last payment had to be made in cash and the amount was different than any number listed on any paperwork. The driver was told not to open the truck until he got the cash. They communicated with me before my move date and seemed great, but once they packed my things, I did not hear from them. I had to make all contact and the contact I did make was rude and dismissive.
They made up multiple reasons why the cost was higher and that would have been understandable if they actually did a good job. So much of my property was damaged. Plastic bins were broken and boxes looked like they had been thrown around. If you want to pay top dollar for a low rent move feel free to use this company. There are way too many options out there to end up using this company. Once they have your things, you have to pay to get your broken things back. Don't risk it.

I really wish I could give a minus star. I got a quote from a representative, CLARK **, and I asked him if 300 cu ft. is enough for me to put EVERYTHING. He told me that EVERYTHING should fit based on what I have, so I trusted him, signed the contract, and paid a $632 deposit fee. After I paid, I googled 300 cu ft. and realized it's WAY TOO SMALL; barely any furniture could fit. I called him, but it was past office hours.
The next morning, I called customer service and requested a FULL refund. However, the representative insisted that I couldn't get a full refund because I had signed the contract within 10 days of the contract date. I spent hours trying to get a full refund, but they kept refusing and told me about the 10-day cancellation policy. Therefore, I had to call Chase Bank to dispute the charge, and they said I could dispute it once the pending charge is settled. You can check all the proofs I uploaded. America First Moving is the WORST company I have ever encountered! They are trying to SCAM YOUR MONEY by lying to you! DON'T and NEVER TRUST THEM.
UPDATED: Before I leave a honest review, they kept telling me they can't give me a full refund, but ironically, they contacted me and saying they decide to give me a full refund because of my honest review. I don't think they would have given me a full refund if I hadn't left an honest review and that's why I decided keep my original review after I got a full refund.

BEWARE!!! October 2024 I began looking for a moving company to conduct my move to Dallas. I didn’t know much about finding a company for long distance moves but I did my best to vet companies, try and ask the right questions and read reviews. Ultimately I chose America First Moving. I felt reassured by manager Jim that they would help me, take care of my belongings, be transparent and give me fair prices. I communicated how important it was to me that there were no surprises and that I would be honest about what I was moving so that I could plan accordingly. Jim reassured me numerous times that as long as I communicated the items and they didn’t change the price would stay the same (I asked explicitly numerous times).
When working with Jim he assured me that I had his direct number and for a few days after scheduling the move, I was able to directly get in contact with him. A few more months went by and it came to be right before the move and I reached out to “Jim” who assured me that he would be with me every step of the way, but upon reaching out, I was met with an automated system to talk to customer service representatives. This red flags. But I was too far from when I made my deposit to turn away. I got my questions answered by a customer service representative and a few days before the move. I was called back to confirm the items I was moving. I did decide to add a few additional items which I communicated to the representative and he informed me that these few items would cost me an additional $700.
To me it did not seem like the items I was adding were equivalent to that charge, but I paid in hopes that that would be the only additional charge the day of my move. The movers came in which I came to find out that the company that I had been working with was a broker, and they would not be conducting. Actual movers surveyed my items and told me it would cost an additional $1000 on the lower end to complete the move. They informed me the additional $700 I paid did not go to them and it was a part of the fee of the brokerage. I communicated that the items I would be moving were the same as what I communicated to the representative and they said it doesn’t matter basically the size I was quoted for was inaccurate. I had no choice but to pay the fee as I was due to be out of my apartment and needed to make my way to Dallas. Fast forward to the delivery of my items the morning.
My items were supposed to arrive another Moving Company called me and let me know that I would need to pay an additional $700 to them upon delivery because they needed to move my items from one truck to another. They informed me that the original truck would not fit at my location, which is not true because there is an empty lot that the truck would be able to turn around in and leave in. I declined and told them to keep the items as a now $1900 move has become over $4000. The company decided to deliver my items without the additional charge. However, I have never felt more scammed and bamboozled in my life.
I trusted America First Moving to be honest and transparent about their prices and business practices and they were nothing but deceitful and predatory of someone who doesn’t know much about the Moving business. Had I known this I would’ve worked directly with Moving Company broker. Unfortunately now I am out of $4000 and left with multiple broken items, including glass that was packed and a specific box made for glass and labeled appropriately. If I can help anyone, please be aware of this company and please take your money anywhere else. My mom works for the police department where I’m from as an investigator and we feel very confidently that no judge would agree that these business practices are ethical. This is extremely predatory, please beware.

HORRIBLE - HORRIBLE - HORRIBLE - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The GM of the company Jay was absolutely terrible. The way he spoke to me as a customer was absolutely horrible. I was frustrated about all of the price changes that was happening over the course of my move and while talking he stops me and says, "You need to change your tone before we move forward." Mind you, I was not being rude or aggressive with him, he admitted this, however, he felt that I would become rude and aggressive and so he wanted to get me straight before it happened. I asked to speak with someone above him and was told there was no one. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. All of my boxes were physically damaged and one was missing.

I hired a company to move me from Dallas to Houston, and it was my first experience using professional movers. Initially, I wasn't sure how the process worked or how much it would cost, but I reached out for a quote. We discussed the items I planned to take with me, including 50 boxes of various sizes, a large three-piece sectional, and an adjustable base. When I received the initial price, it was far beyond my budget, so I declined the offer. The representative tried to lower the price, but it still didn't fit my budget. An hour later, I received a call with a significantly reduced price—from over $3,100 to under $1,800 for the move. I agreed, paid the deposit, and signed the contract under some pressure, as the representative waited on the phone for me to complete it.
The next day, the company contacted me to review the inventory and stated that I would need additional space, which would now cost over $3,800. The price had fluctuated from over $3,100 to under $1,800, and now back up to $3,800. Feeling taken advantage of, I explained that this new price was significantly higher than my initial quote. The representative argued that the contract only included small and medium boxes and claimed I had added more items, such as a Christmas tree, a chaise lounge, and a queen headboard. I couldn't understand how these additional items nearly doubled the price.
I was placed on hold and later told the price would remain the same. When the movers arrived, they again mentioned needing more money. I said we should cancel if they required more payment. The mover stepped outside, made a call, and then said they would provide more space but warned that any excess would cost extra. I reiterated that I didn't have more items and that we should cancel if it didn't fit.
Once most of my belongings were on the truck, they said the additional space was used up and it would cost another $500-$600 to fit the rest of my furniture. I refused. Then, I received a call from the rudest customer service representative I've ever dealt with, Jessica Vickers. She blamed me for the situation and said unloading the truck would cost $500.
I felt taken advantage of. The first representative knew I had never used professional movers in this capacity before and exploited my lack of knowledge. After I initially declined the high price, they reduced the space needed and adjusted the size of my items to lower the price, only to increase it once I was in a vulnerable position. The general manager wasn't much better than Jessica Vickers. Now, I’m out an additional $400, and I feel deceived. I will exercise my rights under the DTPA, as this company operates unfairly and takes advantage of veterans and women. I will share my story with anyone who will listen. Despite trying to contact the general manager again, I have yet to hear back. While the actual movers were pleasant, the company's practices and their customer service and sales representatives are dishonest and rude. I plan to pursue legal action against this company.

I was given three different numbers. The trick is when they give you the first estimate you have to pay a 50% payment the very next day they refuse to give you your down payment after increasing the estimate by 50 to 60%. I recently engaged with America First Moving Services, and my experience has been deeply disappointing. Initially, their sales representative, Tim, provided me with a solid estimate of $2,100, even offering a New Year's Eve discount, which I appreciated.
However, I was required to pay a 50% deposit upfront, totaling $942. Shortly after, I was contacted by an insurance representative named Eric, who was not only aggressive but also unprofessional. He informed me that my original estimate was incorrect and that my new total would be $4,600. I strongly disagreed and requested a refund of my deposit, but they refused and threatened to hang up on me if I pursued it further.
After some back-and-forth, they adjusted the estimate to $3,400, which was still a significant increase. Just 24 hours after my deposit, a subcontracted moving company arrived and added another $900 to my total, bringing it to $4,100. This is not what I expected after being assured twice that my estimate would remain the same.
While Jason from the company was somewhat courteous, he still attempted to justify the unreasonable charges, claiming they were normal. However, I found their practices to be anything but normal. It feels as if they intentionally misled me about their estimates and contract terms. I also noted discrepancies regarding the cubic footage of the moving truck. After conducting my own research, I discovered that the U-Haul truck they used could only accommodate 1,500 cubic feet, yet they claimed it could hold 2,000 cubic feet. This misrepresentation further raised my concerns about their integrity.
In summary, my experience with America First Moving Services has been fraught with misleading information, aggressive tactics, and unexpected price increases. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company to prevent similar frustrations. You deserve transparency and honesty in your moving experience, and unfortunately, I did not find that here.

First and foremost, the change in price is a direct result of a change to the requested order for service (i.e. adding additional property to be transported, required packing materials to ensure safety protocols are met, etc.). This was the case during the Quality Assurance call as well as at the time of pickup. While we do not believe this malicious or of any ill-intent to withhold information regarding the overall services required to perform the move, it happened nonetheless.
Not only were issued a $1000 discount at the time of the booking reservation, but you were also discounted $325 out of the $500 applicable overages from the time of pickup. We apologize if we were under the wrong impression of meeting an internal mutual resolution for both parties.
We are aware of your request to speak with management, and someone will return your call as soon as possible being that today is a federal holiday. We sincerely appreciate your patience while we diligently work to resolve this matter in a timely fashion.

These salespeople lie to you and tell you that your move can be refunded at any time for a small penalty, if you do not need to move. Michael ** told us in writing that we could cancel and that he would take care of us through the whole process. When we actually needed to cancel he just forwarded us to another department and said, "I don't handle that". The cancellations department denies the policy that the salesman has committed to. It's a real scam and lie about what they actually commit to upholding so they can make the sale and get your money.

I called and explained to the rep, Mason that I needed a pool table moved to our home in AL. He supposedly set it up with a company as an add on. The table was to be picked up today and delivered tomorrow. We arranged our holiday around these dates. The contact listed today/tomorrow as moving dates. I found out today that I would have to pay extra to have it delivered tomorrow. If I cancel because we will have no one there for delivery, I must forfeit my deposit. Then the QA rep stated that this brokerage gets no money until the delivery is made. This is a lie. The deposit is made to the brokerage with the remaining payments made on the day of pickup and delivery to the actual moving company. The QA rep hung up and refused to forward my call to his supervisor or provide the company’s owners names. He did say there were 3 owners.

On November 23, 2024, I was subjected to a bait-and-switch scam orchestrated by an individual named Robert **. On 11/19, he used high-pressure tactics to misrepresent himself as a reputable moving company rather than a broker. He assured me that professional movers would handle my belongings. However, the movers were hired last minute from Home Depot and did not meet the promised standards.
At this point I attempted to try and call Robert to cancel the entire order, but Robert didn’t or wouldn’t answer any of my calls. The driver said that they would be able to load the truck in time, so since I had already traveled to Las Vegas to meet them there, I decided to move forward, although time was limited because the movers had arrived late (2 PM instead of the promised 9 AM). They finally began working about 2:30 PM. With only a few hours before the storage facility closed at 5 PM, they managed to load only half of my belongings. Contrary to the agreement, I discovered that the entire truck was not reserved for me, and a significant portion of my belongings was left behind.
The moving company involved, AMB Moving Storage, was hired by Robert ** without my prior knowledge or consent, because I was under the understanding that the company that was coming was the company and team of professionals that was part of the company he worked for, not one he hired. After they loaded my items, they attempted to increase the price beyond the agreed amount.
They refused to accept payment via credit card because I refused to give them an extra 5%, which had been waived during negotiations because I was to pay a portion of the remaining balance at pickup and the rest at delivery, so I informed them that I would pay and clear everything up on the following Monday. When I called to clear up the 5%, they demanded a copy of the front and back of my credit card, my driver's license, and a photo of myself. Due to prior experiences with identity theft, I refused to comply. They later provided wire transfer instructions, but the details seemed suspicious.
The delivery was originally scheduled for November 29, 2024, which has yet to occur (as of December 16, 2024). When I attempted to contact Robert **, he ignored my calls and failed to respond. AMB Moving Storage has since informed me that they will not release my belongings unless I wire them the full amount, disregarding the terms of our contract. They explicitly stated that "they have the upper hand." And if I want furniture, this is the only way I can get it.
Upon researching the company, I discovered overwhelmingly negative reviews and complaints of similar fraudulent practices. This pattern suggests they have been exploiting customers, particularly vulnerable elderly and disabled individuals, for a long time. I reported Robert ** to my credit card company for nondelivery and was refunded my money from him. He reached out to AMB Moving Storage; now they have added that amount to the ransom for my furniture, said “ My furniture cost more than I owe them.” I do not trust them to take any payment and deliver my furniture without asking for more money. This experience has caused significant emotional and financial distress. I am filing this report to seek justice and prevent others from falling victim to this scam.
UPDATE ~
We are pleased to report that a positive solution has been met between all parties involved with this account. The Customer was able to receive some substantial discounts off the total amount due, plus waived storage cost, reducing the overall amount due. The final steps are in the works now, working the details to get Mr. Salter's shipment loaded out of storage and onto a truck for transit to his destination, which is approx. 1,000 miles.
We are still playing an active role between the customer and the carrier office to make sure these last few steps are executed smoothly and the delivery takes place in the near future. We are very pleased that this job has a happy ending and we could make sure that happened for the Salter's.

This was by far my worst and most expensive interstate move. The initial call showcased my square feet as 600 and priced accordingly at 4k. However, 2 days before my move, when there was a "reconfirmation", it was discovered that the initial call had numerous mistakes. I added some items, but a partial bedroom was missing. My items sq ft doubled to about 1100, but the price tripled! It was close to 11k. I asked why it wasn't linear and the manager said some excuse and here I'm stuck. Two days before my move! I somehow cut items out, went to 900 (1.5X the original sq ft of 600), but the new price was still close to double (7k).
On top of this, the move arrived the last possible day (end of 30 business day mark), which was 6 weeks after my original delivery date. The drop off guys were unfit to make the move, kept complaining, and one even fell on my couch leaving a sweat stain mark. Just to let you know, these guys are 3rd party so basically do nothing, say unkept promises, and are a waste of time. Found them on Google. I thought I did a good job researching around. Just make sure to double and triple check your listed inventory is correct on the first call because they will intentionally make mistakes so they can charge you more later.
A positive resolution was met with AJ Chauradia and we were able to rectify some of the unanticipated costs the customer had mentioned.
We will be submitting a sign of good faith from America First to AJ and wish the customer the very best for the new year 2025.

We wouldn’t recommend this company. We felt pressured all the way, told one thing then it was different when we spoke with another person, Now with that being said…they contracted out to Sky Moving and Storage. Tom and his crew did a nice job, they were 4 hours late, it called and told us they were behind schedule. They didn’t stop once they got there A few hiccups but they worked through them. I would recommend that company, but call them directly, don’t go through a contractor company. Thanks Tom and crew. See you in Washington.

I decided to go with another company and they CONTINUE to harass me. "I am now forwarding all of your contacts (phone calls, text messages, and emails) to my lawyer. I have REPEATEDLY told various people with America First Moving to STOP contacting me!!! My first request to stop contacting me was made on October 29, 2024. It is now DECEMBER 5, 2024. I trusted this company to handle my move from Glen Burnie, MD, to San Francisco, CA, and the experience has been a complete disaster. My belongings were picked up on November 16, 2024,. I was quoted $2,338.75 and assured delivery within 21 days. I paid $994.97 on my credit card, $808 in cash at pickup, and agreed to pay the remaining balance upon delivery. On November 26, I was told my belongings would arrive in 5 days, but as of today, December 3, the driver claims it will take at least another 10+ days because he’s still in Dallas! When I contacted the company, I was told they have no control over their third-party drivers and there’s nothing they can do.
This is completely unacceptable. You cannot promise delivery by the end of November, take my money, and then leave me stranded without any accountability. The lack of professionalism, communication, and responsibility is astounding. This delay has caused immense stress and inconvenience, and the company’s refusal to address the issue or provide a solution is infuriating. I strongly recommend avoiding this company if you value your time, money, or belongings.

When I was looking for a mover, I went online for quotes, and the person at America First was the first one to get back to me and send a voice mail. I spoke to the woman and she was great. I didn't feel like I was being sold anything. The woman was very responsive. I could always call her and she would answer me. So I trusted America First.
The woman was very nice to work with. I told her the number of items I had, then she gave me an estimate and said, “When you finalize your estimate, just get back to me.” I ended up taking pictures of everything and doing measurements. I sent the pictures and the measurements of the items, and she gave me a very solid quote. I liked the price she gave me. It was very fair.
We established a date for the moving day, and America First said, “They will call you.” I got a call as scheduled at 10 o'clock in the morning, with an estimate of when they would arrive. The movers came on time and did a fantastic job. They were the hardest working guys. They were also very responsive and personable. The move was from the city to Upstate New York, and they got to the house before we did. That's how fast they were. I highly recommend them. I'm not a happy person, so if I wasn't happy, people would know it. America First was the greatest, and I told everybody about it.

I researched moving companies to help move my stuff back to North Carolina. I told America First my budget and all the items that I had, and they told me they had a truck coming this way within a short notice. They told me everything I needed to know. I told them why I needed it, and they told me they will put my stuff in storage for me, so I accepted the deal. The movers were pleasant and very friendly. They were also very helpful and handled the stuff with care. They unloaded them into the storage unit.

The service that I received from America First Moving was a little flaky. Getting the quote and scheduling the move with them was long and tedious. They did it all over the phone and were a little pushy. They, at first, ask me a few questions then we did a preliminary contract for so much money. Before the move, they called me back and we did a specific inventory. We went through every room and talked about everything that was in there, and the price almost doubled. I wasn't happy about that. The price was ridiculous. I even called around to see if I could get somebody else to do it before I agreed to it. But we were so close to the move that it was a question of finding somebody else that fast. We started out somewhere between $5000 and $6000 and it was a little over $10,000 by the time they got done going through the house step-by-step.
On moving day, the group showed up with a truck that didn't seem big enough. Plus there were other people's belongings there. I asked them if all our belongings were gonna fit and they assured me that they would. They were very good about dismantling everything, packing it all nicely, and putting it in there. They also had a master stacker but they didn't make it. They had to get a smaller U-Haul truck to finish off.
We moved from Topeka to Hays and were only moving three hours. They were here early in the morning and didn't leave until 4 o'clock. By that time, we were tired from running around and answering questions. There were also some other stuff that we would have liked to have packed up and got on that truck, but we didn't get to do that because they weren't gonna fit in the truck. I would have liked for them to have been done a little earlier as many guys as they had. It was the final price that was the disappointment, but the crew was amazing.

Updated on 11/21/2024: Unfortunately, I could not amend my initial concern on 11/10 regarding the major concerns with my experience, however, after sharing them here, the company promptly reached out to address the situation. They took the time to listen to my concerns. After they investigated the final outcome was a 5% refund as a resolution. I appreciate their willingness and their efforts to address my feedback.
I scheduled a move with this company back on August 23, 2024. Jonathan assured me they’d handle the rest of the packing, would bring the necessary boxes, and confirmed a pickup date of October 30. He quoted me $4,149 after a discount and structured the payments. But just two days before the move, I was informed by Jessica that my original quote was incorrect. They raised the cost to $7,396, adding thousands of dollars to my total unexpectedly. Scheduling was chaotic. Despite agreeing on October 30, I was told they’d arrive on the 29th and was given conflicting time slots from different representatives. When the mover finally showed up on the 30th, he was alone, forcing me to help with the packing that I had paid them to do. He was there from 130-7.
Delivery was another nightmare. When I asked when delivery would be, Jonathan had initially mentioned that they could only drive 500 miles/8 hrs a day. Causing me to believe that they would be within a few days, but after pickup, I was told it could take anywhere from 7 to 30 days. Every call resulted in different answers and poor customer service. Adrienne was especially rude, repeatedly interrupting me, and on 11/9, I received a call at 9:12 PM that delivery would be at 10 AM the next day. I’ve never experienced such disorganization, lack of communication, and unexpected charges. I cannot recommend this company for anyone looking for a reliable moving service.

If I could leave less stars, I would. Ruined my dresser, headboard, and desk. Didn’t get my items for literally a month. Left a day later than requested. Arrived many hours later than ETA. Only one mover showed up. Once you sign, you are stuck and threatened. When you call one number they in FL they refer you to another number in NJ, and visa versa. Unprofessional. Rude. Don’t do it. Never again will I use a moving company, because of this experience.

2. You will find out your delivery date can only be met 2 days before it's due by paying an additional $1000, which is not disclosed in the sales process. (Lack of disclosure)
3. Your items will be stored and moved multiple times. They will be THROWN on trucks in a pile by people who are not professional movers.
4. Your items will arrive 3-4 weeks after your chosen delivery date. Expect many items to be missing and damaged, including bikes, large furniture, TVs, and fragile items. They will blame it on you.
5. Your friendly sales person will vanish after the contract is signed.
6. Customer service is non-existent; they will not contact you pro-actively; they will delay response; they will push you to the sub-contracted mover who won't reply; they will blame you for problems.
7. The claims process will take 6 months and you will not get reimbursed for all the damages.
MY ADVICE: For smaller moves use U-Haul pod system; 1/3rd the cost and great, dependable service. For large moves, ONLY go to a large, national mover with a strong reputation. This industry is full of lots of small fly by night groups that are crooks.
We apologize that your relocation was not a stellar experience. We have addressed many of your concerns in prior communications but we understand the consumer's perspective during this stressful time of relocating. The cost is based on the items listed for transport and services requested. Not every service is included. There are additional or accessorial services that not every client would prefer. You pointed out the Expedited Delivery fee as not being disclosed. It is listed in your paperwork in clear verbiage that it is an additional charge for express delivery service. You were offered that service and you declined. Shipments were transported in Semitrailers but picked up in straight trucks. There is a transfer of goods that needs to take place. Not multiple times as you stated. Delivery is based on the Customer's First Available date you can accept and the distance to be traveled. Again, it is listed in your paperwork to advise each customer. The customer must play a proactive role in their services by reading and understanding the terms and conditions. If something was not explained or not understood, Our staff would be more than happy to review and discuss that matter with you. And per our records, our Team have been communicative with you regarding each request. The claims process is handled by another company, which we do not make up their policy. It states it can take Up to 180 days based on the complexity of the claim. Again, we are happy we addressed these matters and our team is here to assist with updates if necessary. America First Moving states they offer “24/7 support" but when you hire them, no one, especially your driver, will not call you back. They promise a “2 day window” to pick up your vehicle" but then have numerous excuses about their driver's trucks broken down, sitting in weigh stations, etc.. But it’s not their fault. They are the brokers. No one communicates and if you are lucky enough to reach someone at their office, they have no idea what is going on or tell you when to expect a driver and this never happens. Be prepared to wait and wait and hear nothing from anyone!!!

To review again, we are a booking company, who coordinates and arranges services. The drivers are employed by the Auto Transport company. The driver in question had a regulatory check-in by the State Agent and was unfortunately delayed in arriving to meet you to pick up our vehicle. These things are out of our control. We are incredibly sorry that this event inconvenienced you however it was something that we are not able to control. It does state in your Agreement that auto-transports can be picked up within 1-3 days of the customer's desired date. However, we are willing to refund your deposit and will need you to call the Customer Support Dept. to complete the refund. Again, we apologize for these particular circumstances and look forward to resolving this matter amicably with a short phone call with you.

Please do not use this company. They are professional scammers. They lie about accepting credit cards, then take your things and if you don't send them cash (after they've lied to tell you they will accept a credit card) they keep your things. Also, your job will be contracted out to unprofessional movers who will probably break your stuff or mishandle it. I have been dealing with a nightmare since June. Do Not Book Through This Company.
Ms. Santilla ~ please be advised that in your documentation in multiple places it states Acceptable Forms of Payment and CC upon Request Must be approved by the carrier office, it is not accepted everywhere. If you had read and gone by your signed agreement - you would have been better prepared or at least requested nicely for assistance. We apologize that you did not have a good experience with some of our staff members, but again - there is a level of consumer responsibility where each customer must understand the documentation that they are agreeing to. There is quite a bit of your complaints are all listed within that paperwork with answers and explanations. Our records also reflect that you opted to have services provided, moving your shipment of belongings over 300 miles and then charging back your payment which you openly admitted to during the delivery. Payments are still outstanding to our company as well as the carrier for services. There is a correct way of handling and resolving these types of matters.
Instead; we heard from your insurance company that you are claiming the shipment was stolen and attempted to file a $18K fraudulent claim when you didn't pay the delivery balance to accept the shipment and walked away. We agree with your insurance company that you are the one who is conducting fraudulent activities. You are now posting this review after months later after services, out of spite.

Overall poor experience. Furniture was delivered damaged as well as missing items. Pricing is quite shady as the initial price you're quoted is merely a made up lowball number. I recommend looking elsewhere for your moving needs.

We are sorry that you experienced overages that may have been unexpected. Our team would have assisted if you had contacted us during the pick-up services to advocate on your behalf. This company is only a broker! Beware because the companies they select to haul your belongings aren't always what they tell you! I was told it was AMB Moving, so I made the cashier's check out to AMB before I left Nevada. My stuff arrived exactly one week after they picked it up. That was the best part of the move. Because they are brokers, the estimate they give you will be LOW-be prepared to dish out more money when they pick up your belongings ($750.00 more in my case).
The company that drove my things here had a very rude phone contact (man) that tried to tell me they couldn't drive it to my house, that we would need to meet them at a truck stop with our own rental and transfer it to that rental! Thankfully, I was able to contact America First and they straightened that up! However, I did have to pay $75 extra! Then, because they switched haulers, the drivers couldn't take the cashier's check cuz it was a different company (and I want told), not AMB Moving. So I had to Zelle payment to them. Now I have an issue with the cashier's check and have to wait NINETY days before my bank will release those funds back to me! $1400.00 that I have to wait for. Let me just say, I'm glad I'm never have to do that again! Do your research-don't use a broker!

In regards to any additional charges, we are very clear about the policy, “This estimated price is guaranteed unless at any point you require additional services, items, volume, and or weight to be moved for any reason”. We apologize for the inconvenience of the payment being held by your bank before reimbursement. We are assuming they have procedures they are following for these types of matters. Your carrier assignment is listed within your documentation and if there was a change within the carrier’s subsidiaries, the failure to notify you besides onsite is a mistake, and for the aggravation - we are sorry. America First Customer Support Dept. has and always will be available to assist you with answers to your questions and guide you in the proper direction. Last week my daughter moved from Boise, Idaho to Reno, Nevada. America First Moving provided excellent service. Each person associated with America First was courteous, helpful, and professional. There were some logistical problems which required that we contact America First several times, including over the weekend. We received excellent customer service from Jessica, Laura and Adrian. This was my first long-distance move, getting my daughter and her roommate to college, and I would not recommend this company, they were not clear with the amount of time it would actually take, they couldn't give me a definite status of when their belongings would arrive, so the girls slept on an air mattress for 12 days and started school with what clothing they had in one suitcase. Their belongings arrived after 18 days, a rug had been peed on by a cat, a desk was missing its wheels, a shelf was scratched up and the dresser was dented. Steven ** who booked this move became completely unresponsive the minute I paid the binding fee.
The man who picked up our stuff, Sammy showed up hours earlier than planned and asked for more money or he wouldn't leave with the roommates extra belongings. After that we called nearly every day for 18 days until our stuff arrived, some things broken, scratched, dented, and being given the runaround 'we don't know when it's coming' is what we were told after Steven told us it would arrive at the destination 3 days after it was picked up, in time for school start. By then you become so desperate for your belongings that you lose perspective. NEVER AGAIN. I'd rather load a truck and drive it myself next time.

They also provided a detailed instruction of their procedure along with a very safe experience for moving my belongings as well. But when they got to the house, they were able to pack our stuff and get it out within three and a half hours to four. They were fast. The move was cancelled at the time the credit card was being processed although the staff to put everything together was professional. The only thing I would recommend is to offer clients the ability to save a fee by not using their debit card or credit card and instead debiting their checking account which does not incur any fees.

I called America First Moving, talked to a representative and got an estimate. He asked me to go through all the pieces of furniture that I had. I went through the house and underestimated the boxes by a little bit. He quoted me $8,700 but to my fury, three days before the move, they jumped it up. I was telling them that I was gonna get the keys to my house on the 14th and they were gonna pick up my furniture on the 8th through the 9th and bring my furniture on the 15th. The rep said, “They have two weeks from the time you say they can be there so you should tell them that they should bring your furniture right away.” I told her that didn't make sense ‘cause it'd almost a week before I get my keys.
I called back, talked to another gentleman and asked the same question. He said, “If they pick it up on the 9th, tell them that you'll be there the the 12th and they'll get there a couple of days after that. It'll be fine.” I work for the post office and that did not seem right. After we pitched a fit, they dropped it $1,500. But I still spent at least $5,000 more than I thought it would, which is unbelievable. I deserve a refund. I was dissatisfied with the company that priced it but the gentlemen that came and moved me were wonderful. They were the only saving grace. When the young men came to move my furniture, they told me that I did not change the date that I said I’d get the house. He said that he was told to pick up my furniture on Sunday and go straight and deliver.
We apologize that you have experienced some difficulties with your relocation. We are here to offer any assistance that may be necessary to address and resolve matters to this extent. From what the file reflects, there were discussions to revise the original inventory list. Our Team advised you of the procedures of the QA Appt. on 6/05 and after some team work the inventory list was redefined and accurate. This process is instrumental in preparing the customer for the day of their move, allowing any changes & revisions to be documented before the truck arrives onsite. Reviewing the breakdowns; the original & the revised inventory are similar however, Ms. Lisa provided more in-depth information about particular items which ended up utilizing more room than initially estimated. This happens when customers make significant changes to the item list. Nevertheless, if the item list is not accurate, revisions onsite on the day of pick-up are more stressful. We understand the increase was unexpected but all the paperwork reflects her changes and the increase in space/volume. The next issue we see has to do with the date of delivery. Customer closing was scheduled for the 14th and was advised FADD of the 15th (First Available Delv. Date). Documentation shows a possible 2-14 Estimated days in transit for a shipment of this size and the distance to be traveled. We understand that you made a comment that you felt did not make sense, about adjusting the FADD to an earlier date to assist in having the delivery sooner rather than a later date. There was no ill will to steer you incorrectly, just an attempt to adjust the delivery to be closer to your desired date. There are no guaranteed delivery dates unless Expedited Delivery is purchased. We apologize if this was unexpected but again we wanted to make sure you were given clear information when planning to receive your shipment at the destination. We are not able to process a refund based on this type of information. There were obvious increases to the shipment to will confirm that the charges are warranted. If this is something you would like to discuss further, our Customer Support Team is available to you.

America First Moving was new and that it sounded good. But it wasn't good. They broke a lot of stuff. They broke expensive things. They subcontracted us out to another group that had just started. They broke the front tire on a zero-turn. Who does that? And they broke lamps. They broke my hydraulic car jack too. I'm not sure if it was them that did it or they subcontracted to somebody else. But that reflects on them. I would not recommend them.

America First called me right away for the move. I did not call them. They had a very rapid talking salesman that would not let me talk. They wanted an itemized list of things to move. This was odd because other movers simply ask how many rooms. After reading their reviews I decided not to go with them. Some reviews complained that First American would not answer their calls, and one said their belongings never arrived. So, I wanted to cancel the next day and they wanted to charge me a $790 cancellation fee. For what? They did not do anything. They said it was in the contract.
What is interesting about this is that I asked them if I could cancel, and they said yes. Then would have been a good time to tell me there was a cancellation fee, but they did not. This is totally fraudulent behavior, omitting material facts when I brought the subject up. So, I read the contract and found many unacceptable issues. They deliver when they want and it could take weeks or a month to deliver. They may share the truck to move other people (would you want your personal stuff comingled with others?) And here is the big catch, they wanted me to give them an itemized account of items to move so that they can start nickel and diming for extra stuff that was not on the original list. This is supported by other complaints that they kept increasing the price.
Unfortunately after signing I discovered that I had neck surgery that Friday and it did not faze them. They still insisted on collecting their money. If this happens to you, here is a hint; get your bank involved. They know fraudulent behavior and they will investigate. PS: America First do not make the move but they contract the move with local moving companies. You can find them yourself locally, most likely cheaper.
We would like to extend a gracious thank you for sharing your experience. We understand that there had been a miscommunication regarding your request to cancel services after the booking process had been completed. Our Team was unaware of the intention of cancellation thus far. As the date of your pick-up approaches, the standard protocol has our Customer Care Team reaching out to customers on the calendar for service with their ETA information of your truck’s arrival. It was then, we were informed that you had wanted not to proceed forward with the relocation. After some reviewing, our management team contacted you directly, with the Cancellation Policy that is printed within the documentation you received upon booking your reservation. It is a “bolded, capitalized, and underlined” section within the policy which would be in your email inbox. If you intended to cancel services and had followed the guided instructions on how to request cancellation within the allotted timeframe, reimbursement of the full deposit would not have been questioned. There is no communication from you to the proper individual (info@) seeking cancellation until outside the eligibility window. Therefore, once Management had the opportunity to discuss the resolution with you based on our company policy. The offer for reimbursement is based on the calculations within that paragraph in the contract. Unfortunately, since that option was not appealing, you opted to take alternative measures. This could have been avoided and handled properly with 1 call to our toll-free number or an email to the main company inbox. Communication with our office would have been the easiest way to resolve this matter amicably.
We apologize that the experience was not the stellar one you were seeking. Our policies are clear and upfront for every customer to read and review. It is a shame we were not able to have a working relationship with you to complete your move.

I specifically asked if my items would be delivered on a certain date and was told yes. They lie to get you to sign. Yes I should have read the contract but that is no excuse to lie to people. I would never recommend anyone to use a company that has to resort to lying to customers to get their business.

I used America First Moving for storage and move within a state. I got an online quote but couldn't book anything until I knew when I was moving. I had a short a 10-day close time, and they were able to commit to that. However, the quote that I was given was not what I ended up paying. It was much more. The process of getting them there was fine, but getting my furniture back was terrible. I put in about a month before I was gonna need my furniture. I gave them my first date as July 1st, but I did not get my furniture until July 14th. They delivered at 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM and they always said they tried to do my first delivery date. I was not happy about that. But the pick-up and delivery guys were great. They always got helpers with them. The helpers in Murrells Inlet were great. Most of the helpers on this side in Greer were good, but there was one guy who thought he could lift a lot of things that he couldn't so I had to watch him.
Their storage fees are exorbitant. They tell you how much it is per cubic feet but I don't do things in cubic feet. I want a dollar amount. They don't give you the time until a day before. They were telling me on a Sunday how much money I owed them and came up with $2,000 extra dollars for for two months of storage which was ridiculous. I also have a broken item, which I have not heard anything about yet. I did not make a claim because the moving guy said he was going to do it and that he would try to get full replacement for it. I responded to his email and asked but haven't gotten a response. I don't know what to do now.

I wish more than anything I had read some of these reviews before I paid this company to move for me. The original representative gets on the phone and quotes you very low on purpose, omitting certain items, and estimating everything on the bottom side so that they'll get you to put down a deposit. I asked for clarification multiple times on what he needed an inventory of, And he assured me that it was only the very large items and didn't even ask for the size of boxes. Or any specific information about the items and quoted me $2200. They'll then call you 3 days before they pick up and your quote will triple because The new representative will want every single individual item going on the truck, even to the point of measuring length and width of every item, But they know they have you on the hook because you can't get your deposit back by this point.
The company gave me a pickup window from 5 to 8 on a Thursday. I waited around for them and they didn't arrive, They then told me they'd be there the next day, waited around all day and they never arrived. Finally, on the third day they arrived but in the only window on the now third day that I said that I couldn't be there. I then had to miss a family birthday party for them to load up all the stuff, I witnessed them break a desk as they loaded it and they just tried to ignore it. They then told me that they misquoted me again and it was going to be another $1,500 on top of what they had already tripled. We call customer service with my wife in tears because we can't afford all of this. They agree to take $800 off (A laughable amount after all they've done and we are still paying $700 more than the second larger quote).
I told every rep when I needed my things delivered and They all assured me that even though the contract says they legally have 30 days, that was just to protect them legally and because our distance was fairly short (550 miles) that they would shoot for the first available delivery day Or at least very close to it. They said however I needed to talk to the driver about delivery when they arrived, so I spoke to the driver and told them on the day I needed it delivered. He said they would shoot for that and it might be a few days later but heavily implied it would be on the day or very close to it.
Now that they have our things, we are over a week past the delivery date and when we call we get nothing but irritated customer service representatives who act like we're in the wrong for calling and asking. They basically told us that in the fine print of the contract they have 30 business days to deliver our items and that we should just suck it up because they can get here whenever they feel like getting here, So my wife and I are now living on an air mattress in a completely empty house for who knows how long. My wife and I are absolutely sick over the amount of money this company has stolen from us only for them to be unhelpful, un-empathetic, at best incompetent and at worst deliberately deceitful. I'm wringing my hands over what my belongings are going to look like when they arrive because I have no doubt they'll be mangled. Will update on delivery. If you're considering this company run far far away!

I was looking for someone to pick up some stuff from Florida and get it here in Virginia in a reasonable amount of time. American First Moving was expensive, but they were all expensive at the time and compared to everybody else, America First was very good and trustworthy. For the record cabinet, I should have taken the records out of the cabinet but I had them in there and it was too much weight on the cabinet. There was a little bit of damage to that cabinet. It was missing an iron shelf. I talked to the guy because he called to ask if I had something. I guess there was somebody else's stuff on there too. I told him I was missing something and he said he'd keep a good eye out for it but he must not have found it. But they were very kind and compassionate people.

I only knew about two weeks in advance that I was moving so everything was very quick. I did a Google search and America First Moving contacted me. I told them I was waiting on one more thing for everything to be finalized and the rep said to call them back when it was finalized. I did, they asked me a bunch of questions, and then a local company came out and moved me. I was very pleased with the local company that came out and did the work. It was a short move, but I required packing services and they packed my items very well. I was very pleased with everything. I had a full-on mess on my hands trying to move in two weeks and I wouldn't have been able to do it on my own. I wish the price wasn't that much, though.

I was quoted for a move on the 27th of June and was picked up for a move that was roughly 470 miles across two states. I was picked up on the 29th of June by AMB Moving & Storage and to this day, I still have not received my belongings. The first projection for delivery was on the 13th of July, which came and went. Then, it was no later than the 18th of July. After that, they swore it would arrive last Saturday on the 20th of July. Afterwards, the driver stated it would arrive this Wednesday on the 24th of July, but then it came and went. Finally, the driver is claiming my belongings will be delivered no later than Tuesday the 30th of July, after the last legally allowed date of delivery.
This is not only a clear breach of contract and could be considered fraud, but is incredibly inconsiderate to provide inaccurate projections of delivery five times in a row. I've cancelled multiple trips with my friends and family to accommodate these false projections. I've been nothing but flexible during this entire ordeal and America First has consistently failed to meet expectations. I have followed up with them several times every week over the past month and have kept in regular correspondence and still have not come any closer to receiving my belongings. Customer service has mostly been combative and unhelpful, continuing to provide false projections every single week. I'm currently looking into outside help and third parties to assist in retrieving my belongings. Please do your research, I will edit this review if necessary.

I would not use American Home Warranty for any move going forward or their carrier Best Choice Moving LLC. All the problems I faced:
- actual quote (additional fees for everything they said no additional fees for): 2700 est
- lost two items
- broke two items: long mirror and ottoman
- disassembled my bed and then lost my screws and could assemble my bed how they took it down
- cracked a granite site table and tried to hot glue it together.
I experienced roughly 600.00 worth of damages. The drivers who came to my home were rude and added additional fees to everything. I felt I was being scammed when they drove off with my belongings to when I finally received all large furniture pieces broken or destroyed or simply lost! Do not go with them cause they are cheap! Do not fall for they have extra room on a truck. Major problem too many people handling the furniture pieces a route. People should know this company is ***SCAM*** and will not cover the damage or items loss!

America 1st Movers have been extremely helpful! I booked them to move my things from a storage facility in Northern California to my home in Colorado, and a day after providing a deposit, I had to cancel my booking. I was fulling expecting them to keep all or most of my deposit, however, they were extremely helpful and able to make the process as painless as possible!

This company is a total scam. Do your research before hiring them. I was scammed out of 3K for a move. I told them to cancel and they said it would be placed on hold and my credit would be good for a move of my choice. Well, I called to schedule an auto transport and they would only allow 200 of my credit to be used. This was a move of my choice and now since I've filing several claims to fight back they now refuse to give me any of my money back. So again don't use them or prepare yourself for small claims.

After a careful review of your file, we have made some very interesting discoveries. Your signed contract was received on 3/26/24. You signed a contractual agreement to place your household goods relocation on hold on 4/1/2024.
While your move was on hold, and before you requested to transfer your household goods relocation to an automotive relocation and put it back on schedule, you issued a fraudulent chargeback on your payment made to America First Moving as "credit not received". What this means in simplest terms is that you were the party in breach of your agreement. Nonetheless, after careful consideration of the circumstance and documentation that America First was in full compliance with providing, your financial institution ruled in favor that you did fraudulently issue that chargeback.
This being the case, you were not able to transfer your services atop the fact that household relocation and automotive relocation are two separate entities. We wish you well in all future endeavors!

I have never had a worse experience. The managers refused to listen to me and shoved me off the phone. I was told one price - not an estimate - and ended up paying more than double their quote. I was shell shocked and angry. The movers came that day. I had on paper what I was going to pay them. The movers said it will take two trucks to pack me when originally I was told one truck would be sufficient. I had no choice. When I tried to discuss and tell two different managers, I was pushed off the phone and ignored. This company is a shameful company who ripped me off and lied to me. Please be aware of this company and the lack of care management has for their customers. Never, ever, use them.

My experience with them has not been good. They damaged my stuff, moved a barrier and parked on my septic tank. Worse, the guy I was talking to just stopped responding once the job was done and ignored the damages.

I recently hired them for a daunting task. Moving some luxury furnitures and appliance from Miami to Chicago. Their service was impeccable! The communication from the team was consistent and clear, ensuring I was always in the loop. Pricing was upfront and fair, with no hidden surprises - a breath of fresh air in the moving industry. Everything arrived in pristine condition, thanks to their meticulous handling and professionalism.

James ** conned me into hiring AFM to move my things. They are not a moving company. They are brokers. He led me to believe they were moving my things and then sent a disreputable group of people to my home (Familiar Movers). He actually had the nerve to charge me $697 to make a phone call. I was told I would not have to pay any more money. That was a lie. I was told steps would be no problem. That was also a lie. I was told my things would be delivered in two weeks. Well it has been over a year and I have no idea where my things are. I believe they have been stolen. I complained to AFM and they claimed they were helping me get my belongings but all I am getting is the runaround by Familiar Movers.
The one decent thing AFM has done is refund my money. I do not believe they are trying to help me though. In the year that Familiar Movers has had my belongings Creditwise has reported seeing my email and social security number on the Dark Web. I would not be surprised to find out that AFM is still doing business with Familiar Movers so be careful with who you think you are hiring. If you hire AFM and see Familiar Movers at your home you need to lock the door and call the police or you may never see your precious belongings again. I don't believe I will ever see my grandmother's quilts again or my mother's smile. I am retired and it is going to be a hardship to replace the things that are replaceable. This has affected me negatively. I can't sleep and I am having panic attacks. I can't relax. This is the worst experience I have ever had.
Ms. Ritchie, we are saddened to hear you have such strong feelings toward our company. It is stated on your signed moving estimate that we are a licensed interstate moving broker and we will connect you with a licensed interstate moving carrier. Every client pays a deposit to schedule a move. According to our records, your price was never increased. You receive a complimentary flight of stairs per move, any flights after that would be an additional charge. This is also stated on your signed moving estimate. In regards to the delivery situation, once you were picked up in OR, a call was made to familiar movers that you were no longer moving to the original destination in MN. It had been changed to AL. This was discussed directly between you and the carrier. We do apologize for any hard feelings you may have towards us. However, you did not reach out to our office until 10 months after your pickup. If we had been told much sooner, this issue would have been resolved long before a year went by. With this being said, we refunded your money in full to attempt to rectify some of the ill feelings you have towards us. We were never made aware any incidents had occurred which makes it difficult for us to help you. We tell every client if there are ever any questions you need answered or issues that arise, to please reach out to our customer care team. This moving company is as bad as they come. If you plan to move, find someone else because these folks, when you have a problem, will antagonize you, demean you, and try to throw their contract in your face versus actually trying to help. Unfortunately, the information I could have would fill a book, but I don't have the space for that. For your sanity and preservation of your precious things, RUN! Don't take my word for it, look at the complaints here at the BBB and look on Google Reviews.
These people gave me a 2-day window and they used the second day, but as the day progressed, I called them only to find out nobody was coming. The driver said he would be there the next day and when he told me the size of the trailer, I warned him about my street and told him the specific way to get there. This was in a text that he summarily ignored and when he texted me the next time, he told me it would cost me more money to get a smaller trailer. In the end, I called the company that hired this 3rd party mover and spoke with many people. They all treated me like dirt, but they want to make it about them and try to be the victim.
I finally cancelled the move with them and they actually wanted me to sign a document stating I wouldn't dispute the monies they wanted to keep, nor would I disparage them. I told them I wouldn't sign that and I had already disputed the charge. I found another company locally that was half the price, didn't try to nickel and dime me, antagonize me, or try to act like the victim. The new company was on-time, did what was asked, took care of my belongings, and were very easy to work with.
On a side note of what happened, one guy actually threatened my wife and children because I used the "F" word with him. Another guy wanted me to give him the respect he claimed to give me. These folks don't seem to understand that we're the customer, not them. They need to treat people with respect and not harass. Like I said, run from this group!!!

I'd like to thank Eric and the other people helping my 3,000 Mike move at American First Movers. So far they have moved the arrangement and paperwork go smooth, they arrange for the pick up and move to Washington State for me. Not expecting this move at age 72. So far everything has gone as plan. My pick up will be in a few days and a 24 hr window has been given to keep less stress off me. Eric is great and if I'd ever have to do this move again I will have American First Moving do the job...

I was quoted a fair price, gave a list of what I needed moved from ATL to AZ. The day of delivery, I was called and informed that the moving truck is too big to come into the community that I live, so I would need to pay $580 additional dollars for a "shuttle", or get my own truck, meet their delivery truck and move my own things. Imagine my shock, to hear this. I was told that "this was in my contract, and I should have told them what type of community I lived in." I was refused to speak to a higher manager. I spoke with two different supervisors who were extremely rude and condescending.
A quote price of $3300.00, somehow ended costing $4,000.00. I have never had any business speak to me the way these so - called supervisors did. I know that they under bidded this move, so they made me pay, on the back end. Of course I had to pay, because they possessed all of the belongings of my critically ill mother. Lastly, they outsource pick up and delivery, so your movers are not even the company that you hired. Beware of this company!

I spoke to the company over the phone after turning away, one moving company that tried to overcharge me. I gave them every item I had and measurements, I was quoted a firm price, when the moving company got there they basically told me it was going to be another $500 or they wouldn’t move my items, I was told by the moving company that they do this all the time..
When my items got ready to be dropped off, I got a call from the driver saying that his truck was too big to pull up to my storage and that I would either have to get my items on the street or pay an additional $300 for them to shuttle the items, even though they knew exactly what type of storage I had before they even left. So that move was supposed to cost me $2100 cost me $3000, my items would’ve been held hostage had I not! I have it written in an email that the price was firm! I reached out to them to give me my money back from the deposit, and they refuse! Do not do business with these people! And the people that dropped off, my items were not even legal, they were in a crappy U-Haul truck with other items disarrayed in there and mixed up!

**RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY*** America First Movers took 44 business days (65 calendar days) from our first available delivery date for them to deliver our belongings from WA to AZ. Below you will find the facts along with my thoughts following. Suffice it to say, this is NOT a trustworthy company as we were literally lied to multiple times through the process and NO ONE should use this company for their moving needs. The company wouldn’t even bother to fairly compensate me for the extreme trauma they put me and my family through. I’m a believer that things can always be made right, but after several months, it is clear that this company has no desire to make things right, they just want to get your non-refundable deposit, get you stuck with them, and screw you over however they can. I can confidently say that any 5-star review for this company is completely fake.
Here are the facts: Our belongings were picked up on 6/5/23 with a first available delivery date of 6/16/23. They said they legally have 30 business until they compensate us in an amount of $15 - $30 per day beyond the first available delivery date. 30 business days following 6/16 would be 7/31, accounting for 7/4 as a non-business day. We did not receive our belongings until 8/20/23 - 44 business days/65 calendar days from 6/16/23. Several items arrived beyond repair or did not arrive at all. The company they use to compensate for loss/damages offered me $74.00 for the loss/damage incurred (for reference, there was thousands of dollars worth of loss/damage done to our belongings).
Every single time I was on the phone with them, I was always told essentially the same thing - that my case was being worked on/it’s busy season/they’re waiting on dispatch/etc. - always kicking the can down the road. On Friday, July 21st, 2023 (5 weeks from first delivery date), I was told “they are loading the truck and traveling this weekend” - finally some relief! Little did I know that they were simply kicking the can down the road once again.
I call Monday, July 24th, 2023 because I had not received a call that the moving truck had left yet and wouldn’t you believe it? I’m told that the moving company is “working on a plan” - so now not only was the can is kicked down the road once again, I was literally lied to. The week of July 24th thru July 28th I was told several more times that the truck was going to be loaded and on its way that week. However, I did not receive my belongs that week, so lied to a SECOND time. I called on Monday, July, 31st and was told that the truck was on its way - great! I called at about 11am on Tuesday, August 1st confirming that the truck was still on its way and I was told that the truck had not been loaded - so I was lied to a THIRD time.
Additionally, my original “binding estimate” (which is apparently in no way at all binding) increased by THOUSANDS of dollars - somewhere in the vicinity of a 75% increase, even though I did not increase the cubic footage by 75%, or even close to that. When my items were picked up, the four men were nice enough, although they did DROP my washing machine upon moving it from the laundry room to the truck, I literally watched water leak out of it, and they said “oh it’s no big deal, it’s just excess water in the line.” Luckily it actually works.
When I went to sign the litany of documents, you’re pretty much stuck - they know you have no other choice other than to sign the documents and they can play with the cost however they see fit - very shady (and, my all-in cost ended up increasing by thousands - by roughly $4,800, from $7,750 to $12,550) - and I genuinely felt like I was signing under duress because, well, I needed my stuff moved and didn’t have any other option at that point as the sale of our house was closing the next day.
Upon delivery to our new house in AZ, once belongings finally were delivered, it looked as if they had just thrown everything into the truck - our items were not treated well. Once everything was delivered into our house, I noticed only 2 of the 3 pieces of our 3-piece sectional was in our house. I had to physically go into the truck and noticed that one piece to our sectional was strapped in with SOMEONE ELSE’S load. Had I not gone into the truck to make sure we got everything and happened to notice that it was with someone else’s load, we would have only had 2 of the 3 pieces of our couch. Moreover, our sectional has tears that are beyond repair.
When attempting to get any compensation back to mitigate our thousands in losses, they told us to work with another company as a sort of middleman. That’s fine, part of the process. They told me I have the standard $0.60 per pound to compensate me. They offered me $74.00, which was a total slap in the face when considering how many items were lost and damaged. I mean, the ruined couch weighs enough in itself to justify more than $74.00.
As stated, this is not a trustworthy company at all. Frankly they shouldn’t even be in business for their shady practices. I’m glad we actually ended up just getting our stuff, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there have been several families who have been completely scammed out of their belongings and taken advantage of. This is the WORST moving experience I have ever experienced. If you’ve already paid a deposit to this company, take the loss and go find another company, pay a little more in the long run, who will treat your stuff the same way they would want their stuff treated. This company needs to be put out of business.

Concerning any damages incurred, we also promptly sent you claims information so that you may receive compensation accordingly.
