When the driver first picked up the vehicle, the inspection was very thorough. He had a co-worker with him and both took a lot of pictures. The driver said he would let me know when he arrived because he wasn't sure if they had room. But he said he has another facility and he had no problem putting it there, but it was 30 minutes outside of the city. After he arrived, he said, “I've confirmed that we're just going to leave it here, 15 minutes from the airport. It’s secure.” I texted him when I landed and he said to come and get my car. The car was in the same condition. The final pricing was accurate, too. I was able to pick it up easily and there wasn't a hassle.

The personality of their staff was excellent. They managed my business from start to finish. They held my hand through the whole process. They were more than competitive against everybody we had looked at. There were absolutely no surprises. They quoted me a price and it was the price that I paid. The loaders were also very professional. They covered everything with a blanket. No damage to my freight or my house. All the glass has got there perfectly. They did a tremendous job. We had a fantastic experience. I couldn't ask for anything better.

Thank you Scott for taking the time to leave us such a fantastic review! We are happy to hear that you loved doing business with us. Your satisfaction is our top priority. The guy I spoke with at America First, Gavin, was super cool and not pushy like the other companies. He took the time to talk to me but I was at work at the time, so he was quick and efficient. He gave me a quote over the phone when everybody else was saying that they wanted to see my stuff. Gavin was super reliable, too. When there were a couple of hiccups during the move, I just called him and he explained the process. He was friendly and made it really easy.
But the crew that came out was three hours late. They called and said they were leaving a place in about half an hour and when I looked it up, it was about an hour away from where I was. I told them to just give me a heads-up when they were close. That way, I could make sure that my little dog and cat were away and put in the car. So, I sat there for hours and at 8:00 P.M., I called them to make sure they were still coming. They said they could still come if it was okay with me or they could come in the morning, but it would have to be super early. They said sorry and that they were stuck in traffic. It was a little weird but they got there at about 8:00 that night.
Other than that, when I was speaking with Gavin, he let me know that if I didn't want to package some things, they'd put the TV into a box or they'd do X, Y, and Z. He said it was all calculated in the estimate he was going to give me because I didn't have a whole lot of stuff. But I ended up packaging everything and the only thing that I needed help with was the bed frame where the T comes together. I needed an Allen wrench to loosen that and fold it up. When I told the movers about it, they were sad but they did it and they were polite.
In the end, all my stuff made it on time. My TV stand has a little crack in the top and they didn't put a mattress cover on my mattress, so my mattress has dust, spots, and dirt on it. When the movers came in, they told me they were going to cover everything. They wrapped the couch, the coffee table, and the TV stand. Then, they took one little moving blanket and put it over one side of the mattress, but they told me they were going to cover it with plastic to make sure. But then they just did the one little moving blanket over one corner. Also, it was in the contract that there was coverage up to a certain amount if anything was broken or not intact. But nobody really told me how to do that. It's not a big deal though. Stuff happens and I get it.

We appreciate your feedback. We strive to give everyone the best move possible but there is always room for growth. If you need help with anything or have any future moving needs we are here for you! Thank you again, it was our pleasure.

I ended up going with America First Moving Services because they were very upfront. They were very transparent about the price, and it didn't change. Once America First reached out, I stayed with the same rep the entire time. And once I got the rep on the phone, I went through my inventory. I was candid about what I had, and my measurements and sizes of everything, and my own inventory. I also sent them pictures so that everything was crystal clear for them. They sent it to their logistics department to make sure that the square footage on the truck was gonna be accurate.
After they did that, I got the email quote. Once I saw it and I saw the price point, I said, "Okay, let me go ahead and do it." So, I went ahead and signed all the documents. Everything was via DocuSign. So once I signed the document, I pay my deposit, which was easy and convenient. And after I paid the deposit, I got a call from logistics where they were able to put me on the schedule sooner than we anticipated. And from there, everything started happening.
The movers were there the next day. They called me 45 minutes before they got there. It was raining that day. They were very mindful, 'cause in my apartment I had white carpet. They put on little booties. And they were careful with my items. I appreciated that. The management, the customer service, the rep that I dealt with, everyone was phenomenal. They were helpful. So, it made for a pleasant experience. If I ever have to move cross-country again, I'm going back to them.

Thank you for your feedback Danielle. We are glad we could make this a stress free move to Texas! We're here for you anytime!

Like all companies, America First Moving was aggressive on getting my business. But when it all came down to it, they showed up, loaded everything up and delivered everything when I needed them to. So, they performed good in my book. The quote was determined on how much stuff we estimated that I was going to have. It was all calculated and had an estimated date that I was gonna need them for. They pressed for the 1/3 deposit to secure that rate. But all companies are that way. America First Moving seemed fair and didn't charge me any more than the contract that I signed. There were no other surprises so, it was fine. The crew were professional and did what I asked them to do. They did a good job and seemed to have some care in my stuff.

Thank you Thomas for your feedback. We greatly appreciate it. We hope to assist you again in the future if the need arises! Thank you again.

This is a predatory company that works to scam elderly people. I contacted America First Moving (AFM) on 7/5/23 for an estimate for my move from MA to TX. They quoted me 10,571.06. Unknown to me then, they referred Luxury Logistics (LL) which has a history or predatory behaviors particularly towards the elderly as evident by numerous reviews and complaints. Reviews and complaints against AFM state that AFM is complicit in this predatory behaviors.
LL scheduled the move for 8am 8/5, but did not arrive until nearly 7pm. By this time, my husband and I, in our mid 70s, were exhausted. They pulled the truck into my driveway head first, so I couldn't see if the truck was already partially filled. I asked to look inside, but the men would distract me from doing so. Upon loading about half of the items quoted, they told me the truck was filled and that it would be a total of 17,000 to complete the entire move.
By now, it was almost 11pm and we were both very exhausted and confused. I called my sons because the men and Lezlie, on the phone from LL's office, kept pressuring me for money. My son called Lezlie and was told that they would complete the entire move for 17,000. We agreed, but Lezlie called my son 1 hr later and said 17,000 would just be for 1 truck (half the items).
While my son was on the phone with Lezlie and an AFM rep. named Brandon, the men pressured me to give them checks totaling 5,274 plus 150 in tips. As soon as they received the money, they left with my things and Lezlie hung up the phone before the discussion was finished. The men said they would be back, but never called or came. I have been attempting to work with AFM and LL to retrieve my things, and I had to pay another company to complete the rest of the move. AFM would never contact me. It always me who calls, and each time, they tell me they would 'look into it and get back to me', but they never do.

America First Movers is committing elder abuse in their business practices. They have a contract which I guess makes what they did legal, but it's not ethical and Michiganders need protection. My mom needed to move out of her apartment. They sold her a contract that she didn't understand. They didn't have a truck on her move date. If you are a moving company, you have a reasonable obligation to check to see if you have a truck available to help people move on the date you sell someone a contract to help them move. They did not do that. Or, they knew that they wouldn't have a truck for her and sold her the contract anyway.
__
On July 25th, 2023, America First Movers sold my mom a deal saying they would help her move out of her apartment on July 27th or 28th. She paid the deposit. In the fine print at the bottom, the contract mentions that they actually have 10 days after the requested move date to deliver. July 28th came and they called her and told her that they don’t have a truck and cannot help her. July 29th comes and they say they don’t have a truck. July 30th comes and they ask her to extend her move date by seven days. She couldn’t wait another seven days because she was moving out of her apartment and her landlord would have made her pay, so she canceled, and they still kept $500 administrative fee for doing nothing for her--a fee she didn't understand when the salesman sold her the deal and therefore could not have consented to.
On August 1st, I called their customer service and politely told them that this was unfair. I sent a notice in writing on August 1st saying they needed to fix this. They are obligated to not sell deals that they cannot deliver on. The $500 fee and the plus or minus ten days from the date she needed to move out was not explained to her. My mom didn’t understand their terms and therefore did not consent. They ignored my email. Therefore, I am opening a case with the Better Business Bureau and pleading with the Michigan State Legislature to stop elder abuse and predatory business practices.

I contracted America First Moving to move my items from Houston Texas to Menasha Wisconsin. They gave the job to a third party and stopped communicating with me, will not answer my calls and when they do they are nonchalant and tell me to contact the movers. This is over a month now and I don’t have my load for a two bedroom apartment. I had to buy new clothes for myself and kids. The company they gave the job to tried to deliver on the 2nd of June after telling me it will take 16 days and I was not in Wisconsin by that date. We later agreed for the 6th of June and Now this is July 17th and I don’t have my load. I and my family have been sleeping on air mattresses and have to buy clothes. I tried calling the company and it’s always voice message. I don’t know what to do or who to report to. This is a nightmare to me.
