LegalShield is a scam good for writing a will. That’s about it. I signed up for their Premier Plan. I spend considerable time on the phone with the sales rep asking many questions and based on his responses decided to sign up. Well 3 hours later I cancelled. They lied to me to get out to sign up. Their services are beyond limited. It took 3 months to get a refund. They kept telling me they gave me back my money which they did not. Only got a refund from my chargeback. Can not Company beware. They said they cancelled my membership 9/1/2025. Did see my money till October 16/2025.

I've been with them for several years and have a high risk job so trouble pops up. I needed help with a civil rights matter involving the police harassment and profiling that Left me and my spouse permanently injured and disabled. We reached out and had evidence but the attorney Emily laughed at us! And even tried to convince us we didn't have a case! Another attorney talked to us like we we're jailers. I even shared that I lost a pregnancy as a result and this attorney offered no empathy and said find a criminal attorney!!! Suggesting that I'm a criminal??? I'm confused so we have PTSD, a dead infant and are permanently disabled due to police Harassment and profiling and we both have a clean!!! Record.
Truth this is company not only told me that I'm too poor to pursue a case, but also hung the phone up in my face after breaking out into laughter. I'm telling the absolute truth. This company uses us poor people to fund them while they take cases from the rich or well-off never truly getting us justice. My mental health is destroyed by the way I was treated and this civil right case I can't get justice for. Because of God I never unalived myself. 6 years of paying this company for them to do nothing absolutely nothing for me when I needed you. You scammed me and emotionally abused me!!!! I overly dislike you for what you did!!! And neglected me!! I needed you. I needed you!!! I needed you!!! I overly dislike you!!

I have had pre-paid legal insurance for over 15 years now and it is the most affordable and convenient way to handle any kind of legal matter. I'm so grateful for the people at Davis Miles and the excellent services they have provided me over the years. I love being able to say, "I will check with my lawyer" and witness those who've attempted to harass or swindle me in some way...Completely back off and do the right thing. It is so wise to have this kind of service at your fingertips. AND, I have identity theft insurance too plus I'm redoing my Will with my partner and it's all included! I'm protected. Thank you!

The Legal Shield family, and that's what it is because they do really give one who is with them as a client is looked at and treated like family from the standpoint of fully listening to the client and their needs and formulating a plan of action with future needs and present remedies for the situation at hand, every case is different, and we all have issues we need help or advise on, its best to call my legal shield advocate to run by them questions I have about my case or question, and thus far they have diligently came to my assistance with whatever was needed on and for my behalf, they are on my side when I need it.

After attending a webinar on wills, I contacted my Legal Shield provider and asked if they would review my current will and advise me of anything I should do. As a result of the review, it was recommended I prepare new legal documents. I completed the questionnaire and received the new Will and related documents in a few days. I reviewed the material, completed the necessary parts, recruited a couple of witnesses, found a notary and completed the process. This took about a month after receiving the documents, but all things in due time. All went well and the process is now completed.

Updated on 09/30/2025: I received general message response for this review from LegalShield to tell me to contact customer care by phone and they would give me details if needed as I feel this is an error. When contacting the general customer care the agent said there are no details, then I asked for a manager, and agent wasn't able to transfer me. I wonder how often this happens to people with this company. ?
Original Review: I received a cancellation notice from Legal Shield. I have paid my monthly premiums regularly. They have sent a general response and every time I call to find out why my membership was cancelled after being a member since 2007/2008 they only tell me it was a business option according to a section J in the contract when you sign up general response and not indicating which part of section J that it was determined to cancel my account. Legal Shield does not provide you with which reasons under section J general statement? So you don't know what happened to cause the cancellations, payment problem or other?.
I would expect to be provided the details reason under Section J for my cancellation so that I can understand why after after the amount of time being a member. Is this an abnormal question and what reasoning could there be of why the Legal Shield does not provide me with or communicate the specifics to the consumer who has been a long time member or even any type of member should be given the reason within which Section J, business option was taken to cancel. I am concerned how or what was discussed to cause my cancellation.

This is the final straw. I attempted to utilize LegalShield's service for prepaid legal assistance to aid us in obtaining a report and resolving our stolen car and burglary case. Unfortunately, they failed to provide adequate support. LegalShield partnered with subpar law firms that neglected their duties and failed to provide satisfactory services to clients like myself, rendering the situation untenable. It is not worthwhile to waste your money on these ineffective and unreliable services! If I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t tolerate this level of service anymore; instead, I would seek excellent assistance elsewhere for comprehensive case support!!!!
