What a great pre-paid legal help service to have at a reasonable low monthly fee, the law firm they gave me from Montgomery, AL Are courtesy, knowledgeable, helpful, prompt and very professional, this law firm did a will and a power of attorney which is totally free with the monthly fee, should you need any minor or major legal help, call LegalShield.

• Repeated Administrative Failures: On two separate occasions, certified letters were returned because the office used the wrong address. This gross lack of attention to detail caused immense, unnecessary stress and delayed.
• Shift in Tone: While communication with the lawyers started out well, the tone and clarity of the correspondence eventually started sounding "off," compounding an already frustrating experience.
Sending critical legal mail to the wrong address twice is unacceptable. I hope management fixes these administrative and structural issues so future clients don't experience the same stress.

They've helped me keep my pitbull sue a few people and businesses. But lately, some of their female attorneys seem to have a complex about simple demand letters and listening. I give them their time to speak and they repeat the same thing. And when it's my time to ask for the letter, they ask for more and more and a call back and to put me on hold. I'm no attorney or nothing but they talk to me like I don't know what I'm doing when all I'm asking for is a demand letter so that I can file for small claims. I also had another female attorney tell me that because I'm a CDL holder that taking traffic school for a speeding ticket in my personal vehicle wouldn't be beneficial to do. I don't really believe that not that I've ever done traffic school before, but sometimes I feel like they talk to me so stupidly that I feel I'm not being heard. When I'm asking for simple things.

Legal shield referred me to Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen, Onnodon & Lewis. Christie ** was excellent in the job that she has done. She handled my case originally. Now I’m getting rebuild for services that were already paid. She was able to rectify with these providers immediately and proved that the bill had been deep and paid. She is now gotten a follow up statement which she asked for prior to this that there is a zero balance on the bill. I have always wondered if keeping legal shield was absolutely necessary over the last 30+ years. This just proves to me that yes it has been worth doing it.

Company offered as a benefit, was never able to reach. Tried signing up with the membership link they provided and said invalid so called the 1-800 number offered. Automated system hung up on me 5-6 times for not selecting the 'correct' option (none for account issues) and when I was finally connected I heard another conversation but the phone was never answered. Called back numerous times to be told no one was available to help. Waste of money. Just get a Lawyer.

3 words: Don’t do it. LegalShield is not efficient, the lawyers' ways seem to be annoyed, and they have not been helpful at all in the matter that I requested their assistance with. I paid for their services through a benefit at my job. Don’t waste your money. Just save up and hire a reputable attorney that has your best interest at hand. You will not get what you need from a LegalShield attorney.

Bervar and Jones. April 16, 2026. 10am Hawaii Time. This morning I received a resolution call back from Bervar and Jones. In our conversation, I asked her why does it take over ONE WEEK to get a response from Bernice? The lady spokesman said, "Any attorney can say they will call you back, but they don't have have to". Therefore, this is why Bernice hasn't called me back over a week... This is bad business! Terrible! NO COMMON COURTESY! NO PROFESSIONALISM! NO ETHICS! NO INTEGRITY! Legal Shield too, it is exhausting trying to get ahold of them to file a complaint against Bervar and Jones. Canceling Membership!

I had a bad experience with LegalShield. They had referred me to a lawyer Kivel & Howard LLC. Now I had a security guard at the hospital that called the cops on me reported me of drinking and driving. Which had me unlawfully detained, and did a sobriety test. This also caused an interference with a police report on my wife being attacked and hit in the head with gushing blood. And it was confirmed that this was a false police report. Because we don't drink at all whatsoever. After leaving the hospital when I got home I had a state patrol waiting for me and a sheriff's deputy waiting for me. Sheriff deputy was to take the attack report on my wife. And the state patrol that detained me was based on the false police report caused by the hospital security guard.
Not to mention when I left the hospital the security guard went into the exam room violating my wife's privacy and harassed her and trying to force her to say how much alcohol I've been drinking. And my wife confirmed to him that we don't drink at all. He also violated HIPAA. Now if this is not a case. What would you call it? Hospital security guards can get away with abusing people in public and get away with it for free. I don't think so. This legal shield and law firm can kiss my ass. They need to be held accountable for the laws they have broken.

This is more of a legal referral to lawyers in a small network. I live in central Texas and needed legal services in southern Texas with the closest lawyer LegalShield has is Houston area. They honestly wanted me to use their in network lawyer to travel hours away for my case. Useless and waste of money I have been paying monthly. The lawyer they referred me to agreed to take 25% off his fee because I was referred by legal shield. That’s right, none of my other paid for services applied. I’ll be moving to legal zoom.

I enrolled in LegalShield on February 16, 2026 seeking legal assistance for a business contract dispute involving a bookkeeper. I needed timely guidance regarding unauthorized work, additional charges, and access to my financial records. The day after I enrolled, I was contacted by Merritt Webb; however, I was immediately told there was a conflict of interest and that my case would need to be referred to another attorney. I was told I would be contacted within approximately three business days. That did not happen. Over the next two weeks, I made multiple attempts to follow up through the LegalShield portal and by email. I was repeatedly told attorneys have up to 72 hours to respond, but that timeframe was exceeded multiple times without meaningful communication or resolution.
I was eventually referred to another attorney (**). I left multiple messages and never received a return call. Instead, I received an unclear text message from a name that did not match the referred attorney, asking me to send sensitive information without any prior consultation. At no point did I speak with this attorney. Despite this, I was later told that I had received a “consultation” from **, which is not accurate. I never spoke with him and received no legal advice. I was then referred to a second attorney, ** (with the call handled by Russ ** from his office). During that call, he confirmed he had not reviewed the contracts I uploaded through the LegalShield portal. Despite not reviewing the documents, he provided an opinion and advised me to wait and see if legal action was taken rather than offering proactive guidance. The interaction also included dismissive and unprofessional remarks.
At no point did I receive the document review that was part of the service I paid for. When I followed up again with LegalShield’s customer advocate, Debra, I was told that no other attorney in their network would accept my matter. I was also informed that attorneys are independent and may decline cases, meaning there is no guarantee that a member will actually receive assistance. This was not clearly disclosed at the time I enrolled. I was further told that attorneys can provide an opinion without reviewing contracts, which contradicts the expectation of meaningful legal review. Despite all of this, I was billed for a second month of service while still not receiving proper assistance. LegalShield ultimately cancelled my membership and issued a refund, but made no meaningful effort to resolve the situation or provide the legal support I initially sought.
After compiling and providing detailed documentation through my local LegalShield representative, I expected some level of review or follow-up at the corporate level. Instead, my membership was simply cancelled and refunded, and no one from corporate reached out to address the issue. This gave the impression that there was little interest in retaining a paying client or resolving a clear breakdown in service. Overall, the experience showed a lack of accountability, poor communication, and a failure to deliver the services that were represented. The structure of the service appears to allow attorneys to decline matters without ensuring that the member receives help.
If you choose to use this service, I would strongly recommend keeping detailed records of all communications, including emails and phone calls. In my experience, a lower-cost legal service did not translate into meaningful or professional legal support. For important business matters, it may be worth consulting directly with a qualified attorney to ensure proper guidance.

For the small monthly fee, about the price of a bottle of quality multi-vitamins, I have access to professional legal counsel anytime. I almost feel guilty since I use them so much. This was my first time using LegalShield. My first encounter was not so good because I was told over the phone that I would be receiving a request # by email to respond back. However, I never got that first email to respond back against the request #. It took a couple of weeks to hear from them. Maybe that is because I am not familiar with their process??? Thank you. I am now being told on the phone that refunds are generally not offered and someone will “review and decide.” Again, no service was rendered. After reading all the reviews here and seeing the amount of people they’ve failed, I felt it safest to contact my bank to dispute the charge. One more time: NO SERVICE RENDERED!

I am so unsatisfied with the representation of Legal Shield and the Oregon Provider Attorney that Legal Shield requires I use. I have been paying for a "Family" membership since 2017 and have paid via auto-pay the entire time. However, I have been refused services for my Spouse because she is Native Chinese and does not speak English well. We were not even allowed to speak to an attorney as the assistance was blocked at the outset. I was informed by an administration personnel that the Attorney had decided that my wife could not understand Legal matters. This is entirely without basis or evidence. This Professional Conclusion was arrived at by considering nothing but Spoken Language. Kivel and Howard have had no interaction whatsoever with my wife. It's not that she is unable to understand legal matters. She manages an Investment Portfolio, a business of her own as well as an S Corp.
We offered to provide an interpreter which was flatly refused with no explanation other than they had been "burned" in the past. That sounds like perhaps Kivel and Howard didn't provide adequate representation? Maybe not. Therefore my wife was discriminated against based solely on her Native Language Spoken without any offer to provide services in another manner. They simply fall back on the phrase used extensively in the contract "In the Professional Judgement of the Provider Attorney" they can refuse to provide services (which seems to fall under any situation that suits them).
However, Legal Shield is content to continue to take my money every month to provide "Family" services. However, only "to the extent that the Professional Judgment of the Provider Attorney" suits their desire to put forth any effort on the behalf of my "Family". This product did not live up to the way it is promoted. I suggest that anyone considering buying this service or has recently bought and does not have significant money invested yet read the contract that you probably signed electronically without actually reading the contract. I wish all of you reading this only the best.

I had a scheduled meeting with a Legal Shield lawyer today for: 8:30-11:30am. She left me a voicemail saying she could not get through to me around 12:00pm her name is: Kathryn or Kathleen **. She left me a message stating she wanted me to fax in a copy of the Power Of Attorney and she gave me the wrong number: 631-4732. The correct number is: 631-231-4732. There is a password that legal shield put on my account that is 8 characters long and I did not put any 8 character password on my account. I asked the tech support person to put in a complaint regarding this. I signed up with Legal Shield because my wife has legal shield and she doesn't have these problems. If this doesn't get solved immediately, I will be cancelling my membership.

Hahn was very helpful and made it a point to check back with me. However, I do have another concern. When I put in a request, yes, I do get a call at some point but either I don't hear the phone or miss the call. I think it would be more efficient to have appointments.
