I talked to a couple consulting groups, but LegalZoom had the best array of help for a reasonable amount of money. I've had some really good experiences with them and some pretty poor experiences. A gentleman by the name of Tom was our advisor, and he did a great job. He wasn't a logistics guy by trade, but he did have his own business before he joined LegalZoom, at least, and you could tell that. I wasn't expecting that sort of commitment from anybody, and he really gave me the feeling he wanted me to succeed.

I had been hearing about LegalZoom for years from a bunch of different people, so I decided to try them out. I went with the services that they recommended. I've had a great experience. I haven't had any issues of recommending people to it. So far, I believe in them. I like what they do and how they operate. Communicating with them was incredibly easy.

I like that with LegalZoom, we got to do it from home. My husband and I both got to be involved with it at the same time, and we got it done and took care of what we needed to have done. The process was easy because I asked the questions that needed to be asked. If I had to search for papers, I knew what I needed to get. And they made it very simple for somebody up in my age. We ran into problems trying to get it all notarized. But other than that, LegalZoom made it as easy as goodbye. It was perfect. They made it understandable and convenient. Also, we're on a fixed income, so that was our big look and check on everything, and it was within what we could afford to do.

I was trying to get my business started, and I looked LegalZoom up. One of the ladies that had her non-profit told me about LegalZoom and how they help you out. I have been with LegalZoom since ’21, and when I've called, they've assisted me. Whatever I call for, I get the answers that I need. I like LegalZoom. I will refer them to some other people. They're very professional. They go out their way to make sure that I'm happy and get the things that I need, and they're knowledgeable.

I choose a wrong package for my estate plan, I contacted customer services IMMEDIATELY, and I was told that I will received a refund. Already passed 7 days, and the refund hasn't been issued, and nobody is answering me. Every time that I tried to enter in the chat it said that all agents are off-line. They are thieves. Do not use their service. A company they will cut you if you do not buy anything. The agent that took my call insisted that I have to buy the other package, I told her no until I received my refund, and now this is happening. They took my money and they are not answering.

I would recommend LegalZoom. They helped me with certain documents for my business. They made sure that my paperwork is done properly. Everything was satisfactory. The sales rep who I've dealt with through the years has been thorough. It has been self-explanatory and very helpful. Also, the payments have been decent.

I used LegalZoom to get my company license so I could start my business. I got my LLC set up through them. And I could have set up a lawyer through them. I could have set up pretty much every aspect of getting my business started through them if I had decided to do such a thing. They've been very helpful. They also follow up, almost to the point of being annoying. Navigating their site has been very easy, as well.

I used LegalZoom for a business incorporation. I liked their efficiency and cost. I never had a need to reach out to anyone because it’s intuitive, self-service. I'm a bookkeeper, and every time I gain a new client, I also have them use LegalZoom. So, I referenced and have my clients use it a couple of times a year. The ability to tailor it to state-specific regulation is very helpful, and also the vast amount of services or options. You could do family law or business law.

LegalZoom failed to deliver the EIN service it promised and refused to issue a refund. I initially encountered IRS Error 101 when trying to apply for an EIN through the IRS website. Because of this issue, I contacted LegalZoom for assistance. During the phone call, I explained that I was receiving Error 101, and the representative assured me that LegalZoom could help me obtain an EIN. Based on that representation, I paid $88 for the service.

Updated on 06/06/2026: Will see if it works. They finally contacted me and so far so good. We will see.

I had my house put into a trust, and I already was with LegalZoom so I chose to work with them. My experience was alright.

I would strongly encourage potential customers to look elsewhere before using LegalZoom. My experience has been frustrating, expensive, and full of what feels like deliberate obstacles designed to make it difficult for customers to cancel services, remove payment methods, or obtain refunds. First, LegalZoom is extremely expensive for what is actually provided. When I requested a refund, I was given conflicting explanations. I was initially told that because more than 30 days had passed, I was not eligible for a refund. Then I was told that because I had spoken with an intake representative, I was also not eligible for a refund. Which is it? Is the policy based on a 30-day deadline, or is it based on speaking with an intake representative? Customers should not be given different answers depending on who they speak with.

LegalZoom helped us set up an LLC. It was very, very simple, and straightforward. It's been a very good experience. I had had some other people I was speaking with and hey wanted around $4,000 to $5,000 to set my LLC up to do it like I wanted to do it as a single member LLC. But I did it all myself through LegalZoom for around 500 bucks. It was super easy just doing it on my own, following just directions on LegalZoom. It was super fast.

I love LegalZoom. I have recommended it to everybody. I've used it for my will. I used it for my licensing. I use it for everything. I have been dealing with LegalZoom for years. You can't beat the price because they walk you through step by step by step, and you should be paying a lot more money if you got it somewhere else. I asked one of the customer service reps, “When you type in your question, just dumb it down for me. Talk to me like I'm an idiot because I really don't understand this.” They dumbed it down for me so I would understand.

I’ve used LegalZoom for about 5 years, and honestly the experience has become incredibly frustrating. The website is not user-friendly or efficient. I specifically paid for access to older files and documents, but trying to figure out what files are what is nearly impossible. The organization and navigation are confusing, and finding important documents shouldn’t feel like solving a puzzle.

We were looking around for options to start a trust to get our house moved into. LegalZoom looked like an option that was a little cheaper. They filled out the documents for a trust, for a will, and a power of attorney. They also did our warranty deed. So, that was one of the things we would have needed for the trust. Since they had basically what we needed and it was less expensive, we just went that route. When I had any questions about sections that might need to be altered, if you bought the package that we did, you had access to one of their lawyers to answer your questions, which was helpful. They were efficient. It was very fast. It accomplished everything we needed.

Terrible company that will still charge you a subscription fee even after they find out that you no longer have a company for them to service. They provide zero refunds! total scam!

I terminated my LLC in 2023. Legal Zoom continued to charge me a registered agent fee for years

I used LegalZoom to help form an LLC and unfortunately had a frustrating experience from start to finish. The process took significantly longer than advertised, and there was very little proactive communication regarding the status of my filing. Whenever I contacted customer support, I received inconsistent answers depending on who I spoke with. The pricing structure was also misleading. What initially appeared to be a straightforward service quickly became much more expensive due to additional fees and upsells that were not clearly explained upfront. The original pricing to be our registered agent and service processor went from a couple of hundred dollars to $499 without notice and giving us time to file an alternative company and solution. For a company that markets itself as simplifying legal services, the experience was unnecessarily complicated.

I opened up an LLC corporation. I selected LegalZoom to help me with this project and the process was pretty simplified with them. Things were all done online and I'm not a techie. There were different things back and forth, and it took hours. Then after a couple of phone calls, I got the protection that I needed for my business to be legal to operate. The reps were timely with their response and if my friends were starting an LLC corporation or something along that line, I would tell them to look into LegalZoom.

I heard through a friend that LegalZoom was good, so I decided to use them. The experience was okay but I had a problem with direct contact and there were more complications.

I canceled service many times. They still kept charging me annually. I called many times. You can't do it online; it has to be the call. There is no cancel subscription option. This should be illegal. I changed the registered agent years ago to my name. They are just sitting there and taking money.

I had a good experience with LegalZoom. They're good, but at the same time, before I paid the money to get started, they didn't tell me a bunch of stuff. For instance, I had to do income tax right away. I owe the IRS money from 2024. I had to put a hold on 2025. They don't tell you everything until you sign. Until you give them the money, then they'll be like, “Oh, by the way...” They could’ve told me, “Oh, you know you might wanna wait.” I know they just want money, but I should’ve just waited longer. They could have done better communication. The guy was a good salesman. The pitch he gave me was really good. I thought they would take care of me for everything, but they don't. So, I was mad about that, too.

I was interested in forming an LLC, and LegalZoom was one of the best pathway for me. Their process was very easy for me. They took care of all of the filings for me with the state. They asked the right questions so that they got everything correctly done first time around, and it was very fast. We went with them in November, and had our LLC from the state by late December. Everything has been really good. Even though it's an online service and phone service, you still get very personal attention from the attorneys and their staff.

I searched LegalZoom online and they had a good rating. I was scared at the beginning because it was my first time doing an LLC, but they helped me along the way. Everything was easy and seamless. They were great and I love them. I call them and they pick up the phone and answer all my questions. Or whenever I need anything, I call them and they will guide me right away on what I need to do. So, I'm very happy with it. I'm gonna open a few more LLCs this year, and it's going to be through them.

I needed a will. I saw the commercial for LegalZoom and I figured I really didn't want to go to a lawyer. I'd rather do it myself and have it be a little more personal than hiring a lawyer to go through it. With LegalZoom, you had to fill out all your information, name, date, birth date, address, and who the beneficiaries were. I had some issues when I had to go back in their website and make a change to my will. I couldn't get to my will because it was locked and it wouldn't let me make edits to make changes. I had to call there and somebody made the changes for me and sent me a copy. After that, when I had to make changes, I was able to go in and make the changes. So, I got the will done and and it took about an hour to complete.

I logged in to LegalZoom and registered, and I saw that it was very easy to use. It didn't seem it would be too confusing to me. Legalities and different states can make things scary. I did one new thing which is a living will, and one updating thing that was from 10 years ago. It's affordable, and it was simple to follow templates and their prompts. I was pleased to see that the website had everything that I had done. Even though it was years before, it was still in the records. I was able to see that, and figure out what I wanted to update. I was glad that I didn't have to start over, even though I may have made a lot of changes. It was fast to just see the original and make modifications. One of the benefits is you can have it download immediately and/or have a nice hard copy sent. It's a very useful website.

I have extensive experience with LegalZoom. I have a company that is approved in operation by the Secretary of State. I have all of the necessary reports and everything that I needed, and the Secretary of State has approved it all. LegalZoom is my registered agent here in California. I have a business in Wyoming also that I have a Wyoming agent. He wanted close to $2,000 to put together my California business, but LegalZoom was just a few hundred dollars. So, I went with LegalZoom, and they dealt with California.

Updated on 04/09/2026: LegalZoom’s Executive Escalation Specialist Joey responded. He pointed out that a compliance notification was sent on February 8, 2026. However, my main concern has never been the early notification. It remains what happened after I placed the Annual Report order on the actual due date of March 1, 2026. I emailed them the required information on March 2 and again on March 31, specifically asking if email was sufficient. I received no response to either email. Only after I initiated a chat was the information finally processed. This is exactly why the late fees were incurred.

Don't waste your time with these guys. They will not offer you proper business advice. Very careless. Just take your money. When you point out the money back guarantee they want to argue. I wanted to have an LLC for my grooming business. My HOA does not allow us to post our home address for an llc. LegalZoom posted my information with my home address on my LLC anyway. When I told them that can't be possible because I risk being sued by my HOA they instead of having any sort of intelligence towards what I'm trying to say told me that I have to have a physical address for my llc. I don't know what that has to do with me worrying about the HOA but okay? The business contact that I was talking to when out of town and did not refer me to another person so I thought my business contact just posted me while I'm freaking out.
