We had insurance with Zurich for a few years. After renewing the insurance recently we sold our business and cancelled the insurance. It cost us $531 and we cancelled it 1 month later because we did not need it any more. Zurich said they could refund the $31 but the $500 they would keep for underwriting the policy. They underwrote this policy several years ago but want $500 a year every year to do this with no exceptions. I am not using the insurance anymore so it if free money in their pockets. SCAMMERS.
I purchased my vehicle from the Toyota dealer. They offered me a BUMPER TO BUMPER warranty for almost $3k for 3 yrs. Never used it until now that the vehicle is experiencing a electronic connection malfunction that is covered under this warranty. They say, "Yes we will cover the cost of part and LABOR," so dealer mechanic gets on the job. The issue is underneath the vehicle so because of nature the screws have Rust and won't budge and for that the whole differential has to be replaced and Zurich Denied the claim cause they CV claim policy does NOT COVER RUSTED BOLTS like are you serious. It's obvious anything underneath vehicle is going to get rust.
My advice before purchasing anything from this place is to take it a layer to read tiny fine print cause this is where they get you. But my other vehicle is insured by All State 3rd party. It was cheaper and bumper to bumper means just that. No hassle and did not ** about rust on bolts so sorry. No they covering everything without any hassle and paid for a rental hassle free. Zurich I think you should stop lying to people just to get their hard earned money then come with 1000 excuses of why you won't pay. And yes you lost me and thousands of new and old customers for undisclosed information. Put that in your pocket..

Our vehicle was struck by a "Commercial vehicle" from a company that was insured by Zurich. After submitting the claim the day after the accident, and then providing them with a copy of the accident report (their driver was issued a citation for disregarding a STOP SIGN), our driver's statement, and the estimate for repairs to our vehicle; they said they would get back to us right away. 2 weeks later I am calling and leaving messages for several days (multiple messages) with the adjuster's voicemail, which states that she will return my call within 24 hours. I finally got forwarded to her supervisor who also did not take my call and whose message also said she would return my call in 24 hours. Finally I got a call back from her telling me in the last several weeks they were unable to get a statement from their insured's driver. Meanwhile my truck sits in the shop. Her advice to me? Have my insurance provide the needed repairs to get me back on the road.
They know it's their fault. They have the accident report indicating it is their fault, but some or all of Zurich insurance are too lazy to get the needed statement and get the claim taken care of. I manage a trucking company with over 100 trucks, and if we are involved in an accident, whether or not we are at fault I have the driver's written statement and all facts of the case submitted to my insurance company the next day. If you are looking for quick customer service and someone to answer your phone calls and let you know what is going on in your time of need, don't look to Zurich...
They denied a homeowner's policy on my new condo because several years ago there was a leaky water pipe at a previous home I owned. Think about this pseudo-logic and bad statistics: there is zero correlation between a random leaky water pipe at one residence with another random leaky water pipe at a new condo. Yet this is what their rejection letter noted, that the loss history presents unacceptable risk that it may happen again. It's black box alchemy and it's why consumers do not trust insurance companies and ask for more regulations.
Zurich was unfortunately the insurance company for a hotel were I had an incident occur. The experience I’ve had with this insurance carrier has been the worst I’ve ever experienced or heard of. Unfortunately, shortly after checking into my hotel room, a “housekeeping manager” walked into my hotel room while I was standing in the front room hallway, unclothed. I started screaming for her to get out, as she proceeded to come in saying “it’s ok, I’m housekeeping”. I continued to scream and run away and she finally left. I reported the incident to the front desk, and I was offered “some drinks at the bar”. I left a poor review on the hotel site, and was then contacted by the general manager who told me that this was due to a miscommunication between the front desk and the housekeeping staff. I was also told that they were all discipled for the issue.
The claim handler, Denise, told me that her settlement offer was a “customer courtesy” and also told me I was a liar. She refused to show me the incident report, because I was correct. I was even told that my claim wasn’t worth anything because the person who walked into my room was a female. How crooked is this company? The claims department knew I couldn’t file a lawsuit because I live in another state. If you’re filing a claim against Zurich, I would just start with a lawsuit right off the bat. Good luck.
I was shopping at Home goods store in San Rafael California and a display of cement bench that was placed in the store and wasn’t placed right on top it fell on my foot. Thankfully didn’t amputate my foot. My knees got injured as I was trying to run away from it. Doctor's report said that surgery won’t help my pain, I have to deal with the pain. Zurich insurance is the insurance company for home goods. They told me to send them all doctors reports and the bills. After I sent them all information they ignore my emails and my calls until my 2 years of statute of limitations was done. Now that they answered my call they said my two years is up. We should do a class action suit against this crooks like them.
I got hurt at home. Went to the urgent care from work. X-rays (from urgent care) showed nothing wrong my arm. After a week of not feeling better, I went to my primary care doctor. X-rays taken discovered I had two fractures in my arm. The primary care doctor referred me to an orthopedic doctor for further treatment. Medical records documenting was uploaded to Zurich. I was assigned a case manager, but had to talk with a call center representative where there was NO direct contact with the case manager. The case manager then reviewed the upload documents to determine if the case is valid. These case managers are NOT medical doctors nor do they have medical training to determine if a case is valid.
I got hurt at work. Went to the ER from work. X-rays showed nothing in my arm. Dr referred to a primary Dr. who then referred to a MRI and specialist. Specialist seen it was a rip in my muscle. Referred time to another specialist for treatment and physical therapy. Zurich approved 2 Cortisone shots and PRP then surgery in 9 months. Didn’t receive a payment for 25 days. Then got check for 1,000. Week later $300 every week $300 for two months then nothing for two weeks. I contacted adjuster. No response. Then I contacted everyone in the directory from voicemails. Finally got a call back saying my adjuster changed and I needed certain paperwork.
I faxed a few papers and received a $400 check every week for 3 wks then nothing. Contacted new adjuster and they said haven’t received paperwork from Dr. appointments. They offered me a nurse to go to appointments with me to make sure they get paperwork. Then $400 weekly checks kept coming every week. Sometimes they don’t send checks on time. So I call them and see what’s up. They play dumb like they sent it or they need something but after a few days I get it. I’m almost at 1yr of dealing with these rude adjusters that act like I’m bothering them everytime I call. But I wouldn’t have to if they just paid me on time every time. I’d rather they just give me a lump sum so I can just go back to work. Because I’m tired of dealing with all this.
Purchased a warranty on an expensive work vehicle and in 4 years have not used this warranty. Recently the exhaust manifold went on the vehicle and Zurich is saying "we don't cover it because it's rusty"... Ok what vehicle in NYS after 4 years would not be rusty underneath? It still has less than the 125k miles in the contract and has been serviced exclusively by the dealer we purchased it from. Just another loophole that the insurance company uses to keep your money and not pay for the damages which are no fault of the mine. The exhaust manifold should be good for way longer than 4 years rust or not... Shame on Nissan for not making a better quality exhaust for their vehicles in NYS and shame on Zurich for taking advantage of its customers by offering a policy they know they will not have to pay on.
I had one of their insured total my vehicle by bending the frame. It took them three months to take responsibility for damages. It has now been 9 months after they accepted responsibility and I have yet to see a check or am unable to get anyone call me back. If you deal with these people you better lawyer up from the beginning in my opinion.
