Westwood Insurance Agency is who I delt with. I had discovered water and mol damage in my spare room. Upon discovery I instantly contacted my insurance company. They responed quickley and then everthing after than was drug on. The claim started in March and end of July I finally got the denial. I was giveing the wrong root of damage that they claimed was not discovered early and then whenthe real root cause was discovered they drug out telling me this was also not covered. They have twisted every aspect of this claim and I have been living in mold since March. I am trying to do something to stop my health from not being effected but I thought that is why I had insurance.
I have not been checked by my Dr but have an appointment this comming week. I have two walls, window and carpet that is damaged.

I have had my homeowners insurance through Farmers for 3 years. I have been with Farmers for almost 25 years with my car insurance also. This year my homeowners insurance cost doubled. I have had no claims nor was there any additional coverage. When I called Farmers to ask about the increase in rates, they told me it was a standard rate increase.
Needless to say, I have now changed insurance companies.

We had a severe storm in our area about July 2nd with heavy hail. Homes around us were getting new roofs...our adjuster said very small amount of hail damage $507, all wear due to age of roof.
We reschduled with a roofer and adjuster who was rude...but we are now getting a roof with some adjustments being made. He said he would never admit to hail damage but would process the claim due to customer satisfaction. We may be the customer but not satisfied ...still.
We will have to pay probably more than we should for a new roof.

We were with Farmers Insurance for 34 years. We had hail & submitted a claim. An adjuster came out & said we didn't have hail damage. My husband was worried about it and we had the roof replaced. This spring we noticed many houses up & down our street being reroofed due to hail damage. The miracle was that we didn't have hail damage even though houses all around us did. Recontacted the company & have receeived no satisfaction. We are fed up with Frmers!!!!!

I have had auto and homeowners insurance here for over 5 years. It has been automatically deducted from my husbands account since him and I were married 3/4/05. We escrowed the homeowners last October so that is not coming from his account anymore. Now we are going through a divorce and evidently my husband called Ms. Suddeth and told her to bill me for my automobile insurance. I just all of a sudden received a bill in the mail for the previous month and the current month back in May.
I have not worked for months and without even contacting me, she just changed the bill from him to me. I emailed her and told her we were going through a divorce (which she was aware of) and that I had not worked in months and I had no way to pay the bill. The only response I received was that Farmers does things automatically when the premium isn't paid.
Consequently my insurance cancelled on 7/10/08. Now I have an overdue bill for $314.97 which I assume will soon be sent to collections. Can she just do that without any contact in a divorce situation? It seems totally unethical if not illegal. What recourse do I have?

Upon further inspection I noticed that a very large section of the wall was wet, crumbling, and starting to show some signs of mold. I still had a few weeks left on my one year home warranty with Home Protection One that I received when I purchased the home, so I called them that weekend and had a plumber come out the following Tuesday, which required me to take a half day off work. The plumber removed the access panel in the laundry room (which backs up to the bathroom) and ended up finding out that the bathtub overflow was draining into the wall instead of down the drain. To make things worse, there was some loose-blown in insulation behind the panel which had soaked up the water and spread the moisture along the wall. The pipe was replaced but the home warranty company stated that they wouldn't cover the secondary damage.
That weekend I had a contractor I found in the yellow pages (Dale F.) come out to my home to give me an assessment of the damage. He concluded that there was approximately $10,200 worth of damage due to water damaged wood in the bathroom sub floor and the need for the entire bathroom to be gutted and replaced.
On June 24th I contacted Farmer's Insurance to file a claim regarding the water damage to my home. I talked to an agent at the Farmer's Help Point and explained my situation, and she told me that an adjuster would call me the following day. The next day Michelle R., a claims adjuster for Farmer's, called my cell phone, and before even talking to me or seeing my home, left me a message stating that the damage probably wouldn't be covered and sited something about "long term damage" and "negligence." I contacted my agent, Melissa K. to ask about my policy, and she tried to compare my situation to someone with a leaky sink pipe who never noticed the leak under the sink. I found it very offensive to have a leak between the walls that I cannot see to be compared to an obvious sink leak.
On Monday, June 30, I took a half day off work to meet the adjuster, Michelle R., who finally came out to look at the house after speaking to the plumber that was sent from the home warranty company. This time she stated that it would be covered by Farmer's because it was a "spontaneous leak" that caused the damage. However, a few days later I received a letter from Michelle dated 6/30/08 that sited that damages due to "negligence" and "long term damage" would not be covered.
During the initial appointment, she took photos and notes, and then scheduled a company called Service Masters to come to my home and put in dehumidifiers and fans for 4+ days to dry to dry out the wood and walls. Service Masters came out and put in their equipment, which was very loud, made the house very hot (and we are not able to use the air conditioning since the furnace is in the laundry room), and also made the air very dry in the house. I was concerned about whether the fans and dehumidifiers should be used since there was mold in my home and I didn't want to spores to spread, but I was assured by Bill H. at Service Master's that it would not.
The second night that the machines were in my home, the fuses in the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms started blowing about every 20 minutes. The kitchen fuse blew overnight and all of my food went bad in my refrigerator. I also started to feel like I was getting sick and was worried about mold and allergens blowing around in the air, and I could barely sleep due to the home being well over 90 degrees. I called Michelle R. and the next morning and she did not show any understanding or sympathy for my situation, and just told me that if I had the machines removed the damage to my home "wouldn't be covered."
She also confirmed that they were trying to dry out the wood and plaster so that Farmer's wouldn't need to pay to replace it. This was very frustrating to me since the walls and wood did seem to need to be replaced regardless. So, based on Michelle's comments, I continued to live in these conditions for the next three days. During these 3 days I had to leave work early and meet the Service Master's technicians at my home so that they could check the machines. I also had to take a half day off work on Monday, July 7 to meet Michelle at my home again to do a follow up appointment after Service Master's removed their machines.
During the final appointment Michelle brought a contractor from C.E. Watson Co., Inc. with her who confirmed that the whole bathroom needed to be gutted and replaced due to the damage. At this point I was frustrated because I had put up with 5 days of the Service Master machines, blown fuses, and uncomfortable conditions for nothing. The machines also doubled my electric bill! The contractor then told Michelle that he felt that this was long term damage caused over a period of years, which Michelle used as her reason for Farmer's not to cover most of the damage. Farmer's stated that they would cover the replacement of the walls and plaster, but not the replacement of the sub floor and bathroom itself. They sent me a check for $1,121.45 which I have not yet cashed. It is insulting to me that a company that I pay to be there for me when I have a problem with my house is barely covering 10% of the cost of the damages to my home.
My Dad called Michelle's supervisor, Tom C. who stated that the damage had occurred over a period of years and they would not cover it. My Dad mentioned that Farmers Insurance insisted on performing their own home inspection before insuring the home, and they did not report any water leaks or damage. He also told Mr C. that he would be meeting with Robert J. of Bloomfield Home Inspections, who perfomed the home inspection prior to me buying the home, and with another contractor as well to discuss the issues. He also requested that Mr C. wait to settle the claim until after the meetings, and told him that he would call immediately after meeting with the home inspector and contractor. Mr C. agreed, but after two further attempts to contact him, Mr C. did not even have the common courtesy to return the calls.
I have only been in the home for 1 year and I did have an inspection prior to moving in. The inspector, Robert J. with Bloomfield House Inspectors, Inc. did not list any of this damage during his inspection, and recently came back out to my house and stated that he would be willing to put in writing that this was not long term damage caused over a period of years and that there was not a leak when he did his inspection in May of 2007.
I have missed many hours of work, dealt with very uncomfortable conditions in my home, and continue to live with mold on my walls while I try to find a way to come up with the $10,000 to cover the repairs that I need to have completed. I just want someone to help me to get the money that is owed to me so I can fix my home and make it livable again.

I have been with Farmers for 32 years and never filed a claim until May 2008. And evidentally that was the wrong thing to do. I waited till I had called a professional roofer and he told me I had a lot of old hail damage on my roof. It is going to cost 4700.00 dollars to fix my roof. The adjuster came and he took pictures all around my house. When he got off my roof he told me I did not have enough damage to even cover my deductible. I told him every roof in the neighborhood has been replaced for damage and how was mine not damaged. He preceded to tell me unforunatlly that his insurance company was not a saveings account for my home. I got upset and called my agent and Mary Ann Landmon my agent told me the same thing. I called my roofer back Dusty Bogart and I got on the roof myself and he showed me the hail damage.
I tried to call my agent Mary Ann Landmon several times after I saw my damage and she was always out of the office or was out of town every time I called and never returned my calls. I called the head office to complain and told them what was going on. I told them to send another adjuster. He came out to my house and after he looked around he said i do not see any hail damage. Then he stared lifting shingles up breaking the glue seal and takeing pictures and said you do have wind damage but we can not pay for the water damage on my sealing. Then he proceeded to tell me your roof is nineteen years old and we are going to give you the benefit of the doubt and depreciate it nineteen years.
I put the roof on in 1998 and they said it was 1989. He got down and wrot me a check for 875.00 dollars.I contacted the main office and asked for the depreciation clause in my policy. Four days later i was sent a cancellation notice in the mail. They said they would no longer cover my house because I had water damage. I paid this policy for 32 Years and I think this is the worst Insurance company in Texas. The damaged occured while my roof was covered. It is old damage and they do not have proof when it happened. It should be paid for.
I payed for this policy in good faith and thought I would be protected. And since this company is not a saveing account for my house I will have to borrow money to fix what is damaged.

he lied about the measuraments on my property, he misinterpret the measuraments, he in the work order prepared by him the repairs needed on the property, the prices he input on the work order are not even close to actual cost to repair my property, he depreciated 50% on the materials, and in cases the labor. he wanted to pay for only 14 items on my total loss inventory. i was told that i was going to get a rental until the repairs were completed and that i was responsable to pay for the deposit of $3,500. i had no money for the deposit, i was given $5000 but i had to buy clothes for 8 of us, also food and other persona items, specialy for my son that has spina bifida, due to his health. he needed 4 times as much of pants and shirts, socks due to incontinents, bladder and bowels.
so i stayed in the hotel because i dint had the money for the deposit, the deposit was cover under my policy but wayne l. decided to denie the coverage. i was moved to a hotel in san bernardino further from the schools my children attended at the time, and it was not taken into consideration. by 2/07 wayne l. had issued checks for thousands and thousands of dollars. i was not told of such payments until they had been issued, the invoice for the restoration company was $25,000 for their services, i almost had a heart attack, and question that invoive, paid more to the restoration company to clean my contents, that the money paid for the repairs of my home. he wanted to pay for only 14 items for my loss inventory,
i have copies of his worksheets were it shows payments issued to me for my loss inventory that i never received, also i have copies of check numbers cancel for payments for loss inventory, for buliding, and for ALE. even do he cancel this checks, he holds the payment accountable as if he actualy issued and send the payments.
he altered and lied about my expences, ignoring the information i provided. he issued a check for $709 as a ALE payment for food, and extra miles. this man lied over and over about the information and payments on this claim, i contacted his supervisor at the time, bernard d., because i was not aware that the hotel had charge my credit card about $1,500, because wayne luke didnt pay for the room charges, my bank account had 12 overdraft fees of $26 each, he paid for the overdraft fees stating that Residence inn, did wrong wen they charge my credit card,16 months after the charges and wayne l. has not paid me for them, wayne l. said that the hotel charge the insurance and me, the hotel, was responsible for paying me back, i have contacted the hotel residence inn, and they told me, the charges made to my credit card was for non payment from the insurance, again i contacted farmers, and once more he lies about making tha payment to the hotel, he ignored the bank estatement i provided, the letter from the hotel estating the charges to my credit card, i have pleaded to wayne l. for the payment refuses to pay me.
i have worksheets, of money issued to as part of my loss inventory, but i never received the $10,263.52 payment so i ask wayne luke to re issue the check that it must of got lost on the mail. he denied such check for that amount but an the other hand he holds the payment accounted for. please help me, i have pleaded to my farmers agent ron r. but he stands behind wayne l., not takin into consideration documents i've faxed, showing the alegations i stand firm to, of wayne l. misconduct, and fraudulent activity, and embezeling of my fund, i have presented the same issues, wayne l. misconduct on the handling of my claim, wrong measurements, the underwriting on my work order, false information on payments issued, false information hotel payments, false information on worksheets for food and milled.
i have not received my content from the restoration company, wayne l. wants me to pay the $5000 issued to me, as ALE, he claims that the money was taken out of my loss inventory payment. he has not paid me for my lost inventory, i still have items as part of the loss inventory that have not being accounted for. the restoration conpany failed to provide a single item itemization list, so wayne claims that the items may be in storage, the restoration company want's to charge me to view the items, they know my financial situation, i have send wayne l. the notice of default on my home, and he still refuses to do whats right.

I went to Farmers and inquired about coverage for my property which included my recording studio equipment I use for work. Long story short, I told them very specifically what my needs were, was told what kind of policy I needed to cover my belongings, and purchased it.
Flash forward a year, my house gets burglarized, the bulk of my equipment stolen, and now apparently I have been paying for the wrong coverage and they aren't replacing ANY of the items stolen because I needed a business endorsement to cover the gear stolen. What? Well it only cost a pittance more than I was already paying, so why wasn't I told first of all, and second of all, why am I paying for insurance that doesn't cover me?
I built my studio piece by piece over the course of six years. Finally I had my own business. Now I go back in time six years, get a day job, and start all over again, six years older and way behind schedule.

Following a fire loss on May 1, 2006, we met with the agent and Farmers claims adjuster and were given a post fire claims packet. The Farmers adjuster told us he that public disclosure laws stated he had to tell us that we did not have to have him adjust the claim. We thought info on public adjusters came in this packet. But Farmers stated that it didn't. Anyway, a page with a local public adjuster and 2 page list of his clients appeared, and after calling many of the clients and hearing report after report of people who stated they could not repair with like kind and materials from what the insurance company offered, which can be half or less than they have coming, we hired a public adjuster.
The PA said his plans called for a total new roof. The Farmers Large Loss Claims adjuster flew in and collaborated with Belfor Construction Services, with building inspector, and man from an engineering firm, to arrive at a cheapened scope of loss to repair only a smaller grandfathered portion of the roof. The PA stated the insurance company had failed to insure the home 100% to value, and we'd be living in a tent in the backyard by winter. That the living expense fell far short of what we were entitled to during the repair process. He stated it would be necessary to have the home appraised. With this, he stated we were now entitled to the full Loss of Use portion of the policy, for apt rent and rental furniture. Farmers mailed an ACV check to the PA and we endorsed it in his presence.
On Nov. 3, 2006, the Belfor construction company wrote Farmers that they were in possession of this check, and cited the check number. They did not begin work or even tarp the fire loss as promised that year, or the entire next year. In the early part of the year they said they'd never been paid and placed a lien against the home which remained till Nov. 2007.
Recently Blue lake Builders told us the entire roof, not the grandfathered portion Farmers wanted to repair, none of which is repaired, is stressed and visibly sagging. We are left with an expensive set of Farmers cheap and manipulated plans, that it took two engineering companies to come up with. When we tried to repair the home with them using like kind and materials as the Farmers policy promises, this was not possible. The plans call for various synthetic materials, we'd not okayed for our historic home on the Register of Historic Places in our city. We were given the insurance file based on public disclosure laws and were amazed to see these guys thanking each other in emails for this collaboration to cheapen the repairs.
We've contacted the insurance commission twice but this has not proved successful. Farmers writes letters stating that the public adjuster and themselves have resolved all differences. This is the PA we paid 10% of the structure settlement to help us after the loss, and whose building plans Farmers overturned. They state numbers on paper regarding the house contents that they state they have paid out dollar amounts, such as $65,000.00 for Service masters cleaning and transporting to their warehouse, where they held contents which amounted to 5/6 of house contents. This was boxed or packaged at times while still damp and boxed or wrapped in plastic, so that it molded in storage, and we could not been able to have it serviced, such as photo or art work restoration. Our public adjuster fired the Service masters and told them NOT to clean, because he heard them state they would clean items that could not be cleaned. The historic cottage has now had four different engineers, but to date the roof has not been repaired. The homes $100,000 in original lathe and three coat Venetian lime plaster was gutted by Belfor Construction company and we did not want it replaced with blueboard. So to date this also is unrepaired. The additional water damage the Farmers coalition has helped to cause has also damaged first growth fir floors.
We told Farmers they sold us a policy which could not repair the home with like kind and materials as promised and that the two years of insurance company fraud has caused our family much pain, injury and suffering. The house that plays a vital role in the community, and has been listed on tours and such, but we have not been able to be the host for these celebrations, which are educational for tourists, locals and especially school children. As an artist, I have spent hundreds of hours typing letters to the insurance company and others, conducting inventory, doing research on smoke and fire damage, instead of painting as I once did before the fire. My husband has had to do work that the construction company failed to do. We aren't quite sure why the insurance company has behaved this way. Little rascals that they are, it's not that they haven't done anything nice, but for all practical purposes, it seems their intent was to bring the house down, and not to rebuild it. It's in far worse shape now after two years of Farmers intervention, than it was following the fire loss.

I did this 2 times and never got a refund of 9 months of the premiums. I have now called and written many times. He and his wife told me it was taken care of. I've never gotten my refund. They are hardly ever in the office, and when they are they selectively screen their calls. So most of the time you must go down there. I would like to receive my refund as it has been 11 mos. now, with one excuse after another. Their answer is that the company has not sent it, and they are still waiting. Because of them I had to go 30 miles to get insurance from an honest agent. They also owe me for another refund on mobile home insurance that I bought from them.
My insurance tripled right after my husband died 6 years ago. I did have a water claim, but my insurance sky rocketed then. They basically stole my refund. I think I've waited long enough.
