    After paying insurance for MANY years Assurant sent me a replacement phone that was half the size of the phone I had. I called customer care and the FOREIGN person told me if I don't like it send it back. Got T-Mobile involved. Rep from T-Mobile called Assurant back and 3 way call heard the reply with his own ears from another FOREIGN rude person. T-Mobile sent me a NEW phone as a courtesy for ASSURANT'S bad behavior.

    It was a terrible experience!! I was on the phone for over 2 hours. The rep I initially talked to was rude, aggressive, and just plain disrespectful. The supervisor she transferred me to seemed to make excuses for her and protect her. And of course, Guess what? My order was placed on hold to be reviewed. I am sure this was a vindictive action taken against me. Both employees should be re-trained. Oh yeah, the phone was supposed to be delivered Thursday. It never arrived!!

    For some reason, Android phones cost more than Apple phones for screen damage which is upsetting. Also, I disagree with the terms of the replacement agreement. If someone has an actually damaged phone and is unable to use it, Assurant's system makes it so they will be without a phone for at least 1-2 business days. You should be able to get a replacement device in stores, and not have to wait for a replacement device by mail. Also I made a claim online, and apparently there was an error with the address and the automated system did not correct the error, or notify me that there was an error. It could not be processed, and I had to find that out by calling in myself and waiting in a phone queue to ask an agent what was going on with my request.

    Upon correcting the error, the agent also seemed to not be very knowledgable about the service or the status of replacement devices and returns. I had to basically figure everything out myself. In my opinion, Assurant has a lot of gaps in its automated system and training of customer service agents. 2/5 because my replacement device actually came pretty quickly when the error was corrected.

    I was going through my insurance to replace the phone screen that was broken and was told by T-Mobile cost was $99 both in store and over the phone based on my plan. $249 I was told is the cost of replacing a lost/stolen phone. Each Assurant representative I talked to told me the cost to fix my phone was going to be the $249 amount. I even had a conference call with a T-Mobile customer representative also on the line and they couldn't believe how I was being treated and overcharged.

    I don't understand this huge discrepancy and why it would cost so much for a screen repair when I had been paying for this added insurance for years. I was very frustrated and was on the phone for several hours but ended up paying the $249, but I am extremely unhappy as I feel I was lied to. How does the insurance plan not end up matching what T-Mobile says it includes if they are they are the ones selling your plans, shouldn't there be some accountability to match them?

I called Assurant again to confirmed if they’ve received it and the lady who took my call confirmed it and that it was received on 9/3/19 which was great.     I called to let them know the phone they sent me two months ago was no longer working. They sent me a shipping ticket and I sent the defective phone. They sent me a blocked phone and now it's been 5 days with no phone. They kept the transferring to several departments and they all had different opinion suggestions and now they don't know what they are doing. I requested to speak with a manager and Mathew was not only rude but not helpful at all. He said I have to wait three or four business days to get my issue resolve.     My claim has been ongoing for 2.5 months now. Every representative will tell you something different. They say someone will contact you within 24 hours and they never do. I have had to be the one to call every single time. It took 4 weeks just to process my claim. Can you imagine being without a phone for a month even though you paid $15 a month for insurance

    The specifics: My Pixel 2 XL was not in inventory when I filed my claim 6/26. A new claim was made on 7/15 for the same phone. They provided me two cash offers. One at $829 another at $649. The final call I had with a representative stated the final offer was $829. I was informed, I was being quoted $649 because that is the cash reimbursement for the Pixel 2, and not the appropriate rate of $829 for the XL!

    No one sells this phone anymore, so I was forced to purchase a different brand phone. I received my reimbursement check & it is not correct.     In addition to a monthly fee, this so called protection is supposed to provide the benefit that one would come to expect of any time of insurance. I appreciate the fast turnaround time to send me a device right away but the cost of the replacement devices seems a bit higher than I would expect of the insurance. It's like paying a third of the price of a brand new device for non-brand new device. May be refurbished but it still is previously used. I can accept the price if they gave you a brand new replacement but that is not the case. Therefore the cost of the replacement should be less than $100.

    I was displeased with fact that I had to call back to ask for a phone charger. Assurant should not assume that the customer has a charger especially when the model has changed.     I will start by saying I received my replacement quickly, but that is not where facts end. I lost my phone so I ordered a replacement but lucky for me it was returned the next day. I could not stop the insurance claim, so I called with instructions on how to return my replacement. I did so as instructed and they received it on Aug 17. 15 days later I still have not received my refund with a number if excuses. First, was it takes 10 business day from when it is scanned into the warehouse, which took 3 days alone. I called and documented each call and the story changed each time.

    It is not about the money now, but 150 dollars certainly will affect some, it is more that a company (Assurant) that can not follow their own policy. If I were to not send my damaged phone within 10 days I would be charged the full amount of the phone if it was not lost. Assurant is a Horrible insurance company that does not adhere to their own policy. I will be finding an alternative replacement plan and choose to never deal with this unprofessional company again and tell everyone I know and post on every forum to warn the consumer of their shady work practices. Still waiting for a reimbursement, 15 business days and counting.

    My phone broke a week ago. I filed a claim the same day it happened. I was told I would receive email updates regarding the status of my claim, and that the claim would be reviewed and a new phone shipped in 24 hours. I am still waiting for my phone a week later. The only reason my claim has progressed is because I have been logging in a checking every day, because they have not communicated ANY updates to me. Every time I have spoken to their customer service, I am told that the claim is delayed for some reason, and yet again, they never communicated the reason for the delay. The last time I spoke with them, they had actually closed the claim, stating that the phone I was claiming was not the original phone!!

    Again, the only reason I found out is because I took the initiative to check in with their customer service. They re-opened the claim, resolved it, I had to wait ANOTHER 24 hours for them to review it, and was told a new phone would be shipped 24 hours after they reviewed the claim. It has been 24 another 24 hours. Still no phone, and still no updates. This is the worst service. I will continue to leave them poor reviews so that others are not suckered into paying hard earned money for a service that does not deliver on it's word.

    I submitted my claim and was sent a new phone. I had the phone started and it lasted 3 days and the led backing went black. I contacted US Cellular and Assurant and was told that I had to send back the replacement before they would ship out a new phone. I contacted 3 different US Cellular stores and none of them had a phone I could use in the meantime. The Assurant customer service person told me they could send me a new FedEx label to my email, however that was on the phone that wasn’t working. I was able to borrow a cellphone from someone and couldn’t have anything transferred to it as the replacement phone was black.

    I sent my phone in and was told by customer service that once it was in the shipping process they would send me a new phone. More than 24 hours passed and I had heard nothing so I called back in and was told there was an issue that I had an s7 and now there were no more s7 available and that the corporate office would have to approve me getting an s8. I was told I would hear something in 24-48 hours. I explained that I was going to be going out of town for the holiday weekend and needed to have the phone beforehand or know what was happening and the person said I needed to wait for the call.

    Waited the 48 hours and heard nothing so I called back into customer service and was told a new phone was being shipped and that I would receive a tracking number. The phone was being shipped and expected to arrive on Friday by 8 pm and I was leaving early Friday morning to go out of town. I had to arrange to have someone pick up the phone once it was delivered so that it didn’t sit on my front porch all weekend. I had to spend 15 + hours on getting 2 replacements, multiple trips to us cellular store and multiple phone calls.

    I received my replacement phone with no accessories. It's a Galaxy S9 so you need tools that come with the phone to access the sim card.     This was the worst experience that I have ever had with a cell phone company or their insurance company! It took 2 weeks to receive a replacement device! I had to buy a new phone in the meantime. This took multiple 30 plus minute phone calls and several trips to T-Mobile that only led to more frustration! I was told that I would receive a phone call to discuss options since they did not have my phone in stock. They never called me but sent me a Phone that was a different color than my original device without my approval. I have since canceled my insurance because this insurance is worthless!     It took me over a week to even file my claim. I was first being told I didn’t have an account. Then told my info was incorrect. I was told I could go to a store to file, one I did, was told I could not file at the store. I then went online and tried filing where I thought I was successful, days later receive an email saying you need more info. When I call they tell me they need a bill. I call T-Mobile to get the bill emailed to me since I do everything through the app. T-Mobile tells me it takes 24 hours to receive said email, Assurant tells me I don’t have that much time.

    I finally go to a store to get a printout and send it in. The next day receive another email saying they need MORE info. I went to another store to get what was needed and sent it in literally a week after the first day I tried to submit the claim. It was a mess and I would rather cancel my service than go through you all again. I was told by MANY T-Mobile reps that they never heard of your company asking for a copy of the bill and no one at your company could tell me why I needed to send it! Horrible service!!

    Place a call Sat., Aug 31, 2019 for replacement phone. Took all information and credit card after about 45 minutes. Told phone would be shipped. Next day I wake up to email stating that we have to turn Apple Find My Phone off before they can do anything. Can do it from phone, it's broke and have to have a computer. So I go home and another 45 min. with guy trying to figure out what I have to turn off. He says get phone on Tuesday 9/3/19 morning. So I call back just to make sure. So called them again and said she would have in afternoon. Called back, lady told me that UPS screwed up and I explained, "I talked to them and you people screwed up." Label made, but not taken to UPS yet. So now 9/4/19 and 2:12 pm and no phone. These people suck!! No one knows what they are doing or saying. Maybe if trained properly and knew how to talk to people. Wish I could find another insurance company! Letting T-Mobile know that their insurance company sucks!!!

    Made two claims. One came the next day the next one came four days later. One phone speaker and earpiece don’t work. Cuts in and out. Second phone goes to a black screen when you push the button then have to shut the phone down and turn it back on to work. Call back. Told me they can’t do anything because the phone is been more than seven days in my possession.
