    First of all I pay for insurance and then have to pay $99 when I use it. When I got the replacement phone the only way I could use it is on speaker. I was sent another phone and was charged to pick it up. That phone's ringer and alarm doesn't work. I was told that I will have to exchange it and will be charged again. This is very dissatisfying and makes me wonder what's the insurance for. Hopefully this one works properly.

The only problem I had was when I was trying to activate the new phone once I received it due to my old phone the damaged one had water damage and it couldn't turn on to receive one time pin. I feel that it should be other ways knowing that they have all the information on the client to help assist them with turning on their unit without having to go into a store.

    The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they shipped the replacement phone to my old address and I had to go thru several different channels to contact my old landlord for him to contact the present tenant to see if she had the package. Thank goodness she did, so then I had to drive there to get my package. If I hadn't have done all this they said they would file a claim and then it would take 10-14 days for me to get another phone. I didn't feel like it should have taken that long to get another phone since it was their fault they sent to wrong address. I had to do all the legwork myself to retrieve my replacement and I had to pay the 125 dollars deductible. I feel they should have to compensate ME for having to go look for and retrieve my replacement myself!

    I lost my phone on December 19th in Walvis Bay, Namibia, in southwest Africa. Your company refused to ship a replacement to me - not in Africa, mind you, but to a friend or relative who could Purolator it to me for the $200 or so I would have gladly paid. Assurant insisted that (a) it must be shipped only to me, at my home address in Seattle and (b) I must sign for it in person. I spent 5 horrible days without my phone until I was able to get to an Apple store and buy a new phone that I did not need, paying $1,000 more (even after a goodwill gesture from T-Mobile, which would not ship it either).

    To rub salt on the wound, when I finally got home this week after two months in Africa and two weeks on the road in the U.S. and could sign for the thing, whoever delivered it simply dropped it in my mailbox! I COULD HAVE HAD A FRIEND PICK UP THE PHONE AND SEND IT TO ME IN AFRICA BEFORE SPENDING $1,000 extra!! I am outraged!!

    I cancelled your horrible service and will self-insure from now on. Basically it cost me what I would have paid to self-insure by not being able to get my replacement phone. Assuming the thing you sent me even works, which I have not had time to check (will bring it to T-Mobile), I will use it as my self-insurance replacement. It not in retail packaging, not accompanied by a charger, and it did not have a $40 case and $10 plastic face cover as mine did, a further cost. I know Assurant is protecting itself against fraud, and everything it did to me was protected by millions spend on lawyers drafting your contract, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CUSTOMER?

    Apple Watch series 4. I was sent a package and it was left outside for me to pick it up off the ground. This was around the weekend. I didn't open the package right away. I was going to wear the watch the beginning of the following week. Because I did not have the charger so I just left it unopened in the package. When I finally received my charger I opened it preparing to charge and wear the watch when I noticed that the screen was completely shattered. When I called into Assurant customer service I was told that I have to pay Assurant another deductible. Now the watch was stolen along with everything I owned. I do not have money to pay $300 in total for an Apple watch that I already previously paid $600 for. So the representative placed me on hold to speak to her senior advisor and returned to the phone and stated there was nothing Assurant can do since the watch was shipped and damages were not called in within 7 days.

    This policy is ridiculous. I live in Indiana. The corporation is in Pennsylvania, an overnight package may still take a few days to arrive. The condition the watch was in when I received is not on Assurant but something could've been done for me as a consumer that was just robbed. The representative directed me to Apple to have them fix the screen for me for $50. Which was more reasonable, but I am truly grateful that she directed me to Apple because they not only replaced the entire watch but they also placed a notation for the package to be signed for and not thrown on my ground and left there.

    I was not informed this would be a refurbished phone until it arrived after which saw on the receipt it is non refundable as well. None of this was made aware to me. I pay insurance and assumed I would be getting a NEW phone with how much I have paid into it so far. Not only this was a problem, I got the phone and it didn't even work. It did not download apps, basic phone functions did not work and even the appearance was cheap and tacky looking. When the screen was supposed to be black it was gray and the text was a strange font I have never seen (with a yellowish white color).

    The original phone had just the camera on the back for both "selfie" and regular pictures but the one I received had a huge one pasted awkwardly on the front as well as the original. Although, how tacky it looked wasn't the big issue. It was the fact that there was no disclosure before I purchased it, (that it was a refurbish and non refundable,) the fact that it didn't work NOR DO I HAVE THE 2ND PHONE I was told I would receive after sending back the defect STILL, that is the reason I will tell everyone I know not to use "Assurant".

    My Samsung S9 purchased from Spectrum Mobile kept issuing a "moisture in charge port area" even when the phone was never wet or exposed to water.     This was easily the most frustrating experience of my life. I was told that my replacement phone would arrive the next day and made arrangements accordingly. It was shipped ground instead of overnight, so it came nearly a week later. My daughter was coming in town for the holidays (and to get her phone), and lost the damaged device while transporting it back and forth because of the shipping delays. Assurant treated me like they were doing me a favor when I finally complained enough to get help. Even denied my claim once because she tried to move the SIM to an older undamaged phone. We discussed it beforehand and I was told it was cleared up, but they denied it and caused me to have to call back and fix it again.

    The focus of every conversation was them explaining to me why their error wasn't their fault. They made excuse after excuse. They blamed the shipping company, the holidays and and even cited bad luck as a cause at one point. Purchasing phones through the carrier and using carrier provided insurance isn't the guaranteed good service experience that used to be. I recommend buying it on BestBuy or Walmart and getting a service plan there instead.

    The replacement phone is defective. It worked about a week and then stopped charging. If you plug it in, the charging cable gets hot and smokes and the phone will not charge. Several different cables were tried, it's definitely the phone. There is no phone number anywhere that I can call to get this taken care of. Very poor service from the company overall.     The claim was placed on Friday. Delivery of the replacement phone was scheduled for the following Tuesday the latest. Called for the update to Assurant customer service, nobody could tell me where my phone is and when it's going to be delivered, representative recommended to call them again next morning. On Thursday, for some odd reason (wrong label), package was sent back to the sender. Called Customer Service again, rep. said I need to wait for package to arrive at warehouse before re sending it back to me. Finally got somebody to send it over to me on Friday (week after the claim) and was promised to get an overnight shipment (delivery on Saturday) which never happened. I got my package today (Monday) a week and a half after the claim was placed. Don't like to complain but hope this feedback will help to increase the quality and speed of the service.

    Phone ### on my account was dropped, has a cracked screen and I called Assurant to file a claim. The first person I spoke to told me my passcodes were wrong and then sent me to TMobile customer service. T-mobile CS cleared that up and I made the claim. Then, Assurant wanted me to email my drivers license, which I did. Then I am notified there are issues with my claim that must be investigated for at least 3-5 days.

    Mind you, I was told this claim would take one business day and this phone was, and is the phone my daughter uses. We are at Disney World and Assurant agreed to ship the phone to my condo in Florida so she would have it while on vacation. That obviously isn't going to happen. So my 12 year old daughter has to use a broken phone on her trip. A trip she has been waiting months for. Assurant might, I stress, might have the phone now shipped to my office AFTER we get back from vacation.

    I filed a claim on my damaged device which was broken by my ex boyfriend who got angry and threw it. I filed my claim during the call with the agent. I asked, "Is this type of incident covered? Will my claim be approved?" He assured me that it would. During that call I was not informed to remove my sim card from my old iPhone 8. A week later I check the status and it was denied so I called two different times. Each agent gave me different reasons as to why the claim was denied. 1.) because the sim card was in use at the time the claim was processed and 2.) because the damages were caused by someone.

    During my phone call all the agents I spoke to failed to inform me the sim card cannot be in use during the process. And the first agent assured me my phone would be replaced. The agents need to be taught properly how to relay information. I am now confused and angry with Assurant. Why am I paying for coverage if it's not going to be of help?! And each time I call I get different agents who give me unless information. In fact one agent even suggested I call back, submit a new claim and file it as lost. I then told him, "So you want me to lie?" He said, "Ma’am I cannot tell you to lie but I am just suggesting an alternative." Idiots. A bunch of idiots.

    This was the worst experience I ever had, It took me four calls to file the claim for my Apple Watch series 5 32gb 44mm gold aluminum with pink sand bands; and they sent me a series 3 42mm 16gb gray aluminum with black bands that wasn’t even packaged correctly. Box was dirty and the watch didn’t have the plastic wrapper on watch but it was in box someone had removed before sending. I called immediately when I opened the box and seen it was the black one as I was calling I was on my way to the T-Mobile store to show them what was sent and how it was packaged.

    On the way I was talking to Assurant where I was just ranting on the color. When I arrived to the T Mobile store the young lady pointed out that the watch that the watch wasn’t even the make nor model I had purchased. I was hung up on several times. Even the supervisors hung up on me. This is a horrible company and they will be facing a title 5 lawsuit. My receipt even stated the item I had and the item they chose to send. They downgraded me and hassled me. I bought a $500 watch for them to send a $300 watch. I had to run around to find a FedExDropOff. No one is giving me gas money.

    Tmobile needs not to promote at the time I was purchasing my watch. No one mentioned refurbished devices nor you get whatever is in THEIR warehouse is what you will receive. I was told I was insuring what I purchased and you get paperwork on the company AFTER you make purchase which came out to be false advertisement. They also sent me an email saying my claim was denied. When I called about that two representatives hung up in my face saying they didn’t send that I need to talk with T-Mobile. Awful experience. Now I know go to Apple store. They finance and offer insurance $14.99 a month and you get the exact item you purchased and knew one.

    Updated on 02/14/2020: Oh my gosh. In this 3 to 5 day waiting period while it’s sitting in your warehouse not being scanned two separate supervisor assured me they will monitor it and call me a soon as it scanned in. I called about one in the afternoon Pacific time. They told me that it was wasn’t in. The next day about 11 o’clock in the morning a.m. I called just to check in. Sure enough it came in, got scanned in right after 1 o’clock the day before with no phone calls. Then on top of that they said I have to wait another 24 to 48 hours because a hold is now put on it. A bunch of lies. They assured me they send it out as soon as that was scanned in. It really is ridiculous and now it’s been approved or released but now you’re saying another 24 days before you can ship it out. Very sad run business with poor policies and no care for your own mistakes whatsoever.

    Original Review: It has been and is currently the worst experience. My daughters phone was stolen on 1/31/20. Today is 2/13/20 and still no phone. They sent her the wrong phone as it was sent under my phone number. I verified twice with the person accepting my credit card charge of $249. She repeated, the phone number doesn't matter. Then they block my phone and I could not use it. (So we both didnt have phone to use.) They said they couldnt unblock my phone until they receive mis-sent phone back. I was finally was able to correct that with T-Mobile (not your company) but the phone is sitting currently in your warehouse for 5 days now and still not scanned in.

    All I hear from customer service is about your policies and procedures and how many days you are allow to do nothing and hold out on the sending the new phone. They are all doing their job. No complaint there. You have nothing in place for when you screw up, make mistakes and no desire to take responsibility and fix it. Very Sad that you dont care. Especially in todays world where there is so much reliance and safety with a phone.

    It took too long to get approve. The customer service is awful. I had 1 line and lost my phone. When trying to verify my account they kept sending me to the store as they could not authenticate my account without sending me a code to my handset device which I kept explaining was lost which is why I was trying to get a replacement. Once I got the replacement in the mail I could not activate it as again they wanted to send a verification code to the lost phone. I filed a claim for a replacement on Wednesday January 29 @ 1:22 p.m. & they put me on a 3-5 day review, the 1st day started the day after I filed the claim, they didn’t count the day of, so it actually took 6 days. The claim was completed & my replacement device was shipped on Monday Day 6 of February 3. I finally received my replacement on Day 7, Tuesday February 4 at 9:37a.m. Which is ridiculously too long to be waiting for a replacement. I’ve never had to wait over 24 hours for a claim to be under a review & I’ve never had to wait 6 days for a claim to be completed. I also never had to wait more than 2 days to get a replacement.     Metro PCS had done a wonderful and professional job, Assurant Solutions quite the opposite, though not all of Assurant representatives fall into that category, but unfortunately the evaluation can not be done individually. The reason for giving a 10 in the evaluation is because I totally understand the need of protection, so us customers can have some slack at the time of need. Now referring anyone to set protection with Assurant Protection is another story. You would have to pay me to do that. I have been paying for that coverage for years, only one other time I had to make use of it, with a different Co. and everything worked just fine. But now, for the first time I needed to make use of my payed protection with this new service provider that calls itself Assurant, and just rest assured that the service I got was the worst.

    The Co. representative got the nerve to call me liar and crook, and after so many calls and time and time again trying to get the Co. to do what they were supposed to do that was help me solve a problem that I have already payed for, I was finally suggested by one of the good representatives of the Co. to "GO TO A METRO STORE AND HAVE ONE OF THEM FILE THE REPORT FOR ME" and voila, what had taken from me more than a month, several phone calls and long, very long minutes on the phone with Co. representatives; took only a few minutes to be solved. Even though the representative from Metro only answered the same questions I had being answering for more than a month, and provided the same responses I have given every single time.

    After that call, it only took two-days time for the replacement phone to arrive in my mail box. Albeit it is not a new phone, and it is starting to present the same exact problem as the replaced one- the battery does not hold charge long enough. It starts to discharge in a very unusual manner as soon as the phone is turned on. On the very first day of usage after being fully charged the % of charge in the battery went from 100 to 33 % in less than 5 hours of non-continuous use. If this is the service Assurance will continue to give to paying customers, be sure to start checking the claims section with the BBB, for I will file a complain in the next few days if the telephone that was sent to me continues to deplete the charge so unusually fast.

    I will continue to pay for insurance because I understand the necessity and usefulness of it, but will not recommend Assurant and if need be will buy me a new phone with a different provider if there is no way I could get rid of your poor service. I only wish this poor service is not the norm, and that no other customers are put through what I have been put through, because your employees, who need to get their salaries payed so that they can go on with their lives would be forced to migrate to work for more professional employers. I have paid you $11.99 per month for over a year plus the $99 dollar replacement fee you charged me and you shipped me a LG V30?

    First of all the LG V30 was released in 2017, that makes it a year older than the G7 Thinq which is a direct breach of our contract because you said, “replaced with a reconditioned one of like kind and quality. In the event a reconditioned device is not available, we will replace it with a new model of like kind and quality.” The V30 was released a year prior to the G7 Thinq therefore a). it is not of like kind, b). it is not a new model of like kind and quality. Secondly the phone that was replaced belonged to my son, he is 15 years old, I should not have to remind you how important the cell camera is to teenagers….The LG V30’s camera has 5 MP, f/2.2, 22mm (wide), 1/5", 1.12µm with 1080p@30fps. The G7 Thinq’s camera is 8 MP, f/1.9, 26mm (wide) with 1080p@60fps. The 8 MP 60 fps camera I had was of better QUALITY than the 5MP 30 fps replacement you sent me.

    Sending me the LG V30 phone with a 5MP, 30 fps camera is not of the LIKE KIND I had it is a breach in our contract because it is only about half as good as the phone camera I had---the quality of the camera is not the same, and is definitely NOT a newer model. You have not honored your contract and replaced my cell phone with a like kind and quality or a newer model as you have stated in writing.     Broke my phone and at first when I was trying to file the claim I kept being transferred or cut off but finally when I got to someone they set up an appointment for me at a store, but when I went there they did not know who I was or how they could help me, and that my phone may not be able to be repaired so I continued to call back and try to do the express replacement. I thought I had completed the claim but after 5 days of not hearing anything I called back and they said it was never filed because I did not pay. The last person I was on the phone with specifically told me that they were charging my card that was on file for the account and that I didn’t have to do anything else.     My husband's phone dropped from the night stand on the morning of 2/2/2020 and the screen went black. We immediately called Assurant to file a claim. We filed the claim and paid the $99 deductible. At that time we were informed it would be 24 hours before we would receive the phone. So 48 hours later, I called Assurant inquiring about the status of the phone since we didn't receive the tracking information through Email like we were informed we would. At this time, I was told by a CSR that the phone was on back order. I asked why wasn't we informed by email or phone call about the phone being on back order. I was told that is not Assurant's practice, they only notify the customer when the product is on the way with a tracking number.

    I explained how frustrating this was not only because this is my husband's only means of communication but it's also his business phone when he is not at his shop. I asked what is the date we would be receive the phone. I was told there was not a date, they didn't know but not to worry because they receive phones daily. I then asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told the same thing when I spoke with the supervisor. My husband and myself called every day during the week to check the status of the Samsung A70. We spoke to a supervisor each and every time and they continued to tell us they did not have the phone and they did not know when it would arrive just look for the email. My husband finally received his phone on 2/10/2020. That is unacceptable!

    We did everything we were suppose to do starting with insuring our phones, then paying our deductible. So if certain rules are in place for the customer before they receive their replacement product, then why wouldn't this business have certain rules in place in case problems such as ours arise? It's not fair to a customer to be without the product they paid for, for that length of time. If this business is truly about Insurance and replacing items, then there is no way they should run out of items. They should know the need of particular items and always be stocked. What happened to having a plan B?

    Plan B would have been a loaner phone. Send us a Samsung loaner and as soon as we receive our replacement, turn off the loaner and the customer is responsible for mailing the loaner back or take it to the nearest dealer. Something has to be in place because telling a customer you have no idea when the phone will be back in stock and actually having a customer without their product after they paid for it, is bad business.

    Oh, yeah, Assurant may need to retrain some of their CSR. I spoke with a Felicia and she had the nerve to tell me, my husband and myself have been calling every day and speaking to supervisors every day. She told me I didn't need to speak to a supervisor this particular day because she's been with the company for 6 years and everything she told me a supervisor was going to tell me the same thing. Well, when she put the supervisor on, I let the supervisor know how disrespectful I believe she was. Moral of story, this Insurance Company is a rip off!!!!

    I purchased Assurant insurance for my daughter's phone. She cracked the screen the beginning of January and right away we submitted a claim. The deductible was paid and I was told my claim was approved. All I had to do was go to the local uBreakiFix store to have it fixed. So we went to the store, and they don't have the screen for my daughter's phone. They suggestion I try the other local store, which we did. They don't have it either, so they suggest I call Assurant. Assurant then tells me it's out of their hands. I should either contact the store again or pay an even higher deductible to have the phone completely replaced (which I don't need, and feel is a scam to get me to pay more money).

    After going round and round again with the two local stores to no avail, my daughter's phone completely stops working, due to the fact that the screen has needed replaced for over a month. I reach back out to Assurant to have my claim escalated. I don't feel it's right for me to have to pay the extra deductible, because the company lacks the ability to follow through on the services they promised to provide when I bought the insurance. I was told the only way for me to escalate is to send a letter via physical mail to the corporate office. No email, no phone number, no supervisor escalation. I'm floored. I noticed that reviews on this site have gotten some response, so I'm hoping someone here will help me get this resolved. It's not okay for companies to charge you for insurance and a deductible for services they are unable to provide.

    I found this experience to be very frustrating because I was forced to spend more money after you replaced my phone with a different model.     As far as the experience of the process of replacing the phone, that was great. But I never received it. I was told that my phone would arrive on a Tuesday. Instead, I received it 3 days earlier and didn’t know until I checked the tracking on Tuesday. Turns out, my phone was stolen from my front door on Saturday morning. I called Assurant about this incident and was told I have to wait 10-14 business days for an investigation. How this will be investigated, I’m not sure. I recommend transcripts or some sort of proof of the call with the customer so that we’re confident that something is actually in process and a midpoint update on investigations.     I was pleasantly surprised by the care and concern shown me during my call. Reignier (**) was SUPERIOR in assisting me. He even suggested my using a sling with my phone to help prevent dropping it so much since I have rheumatoid arthritis for which there's no cure. I did not know there was such a thing.     Is so hard to get hold of a representative. I started my claim last month on the 20th and still haven't got it I called twice they supposedly started an investigation and said will take 14 days. I already spent too much money and I haven't got my phone. Metro is the worst company ever. I pay almost 2000 between all I expend in the store and they sold me protection supposedly for me to protect my investment in such an expensive device and now I don't have a phone or service.

    We had a cell phone stolen, and had reported it to the police. I was not sure if the policy would cover it, so I didn’t call in right away.     I recently lost my phone (Note 9 from Samsung/T-Mobile). I called Assurant customer service. They were helpful, professional and informative. I paid $250.00 for a BRAND NEW PHONE, they delivered my phone in 2/3 business days. They emailed me a UPS tracking number, I stood home so I wouldn't miss my delivery. I was very happy and satisfied until I opened my package.

    As I began to turn on the phone, I noticed my "BRAND NEW PHONE" had 3 scratches on the front screen. I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND UPSET. The phone was obviously a refurbished phone. I called Assurant right away. Customer service was once again helpful, professional and informative. They told me the phone is not supposed to have any scratches or any type of damage and they will be sending a returning label so I can return it through Fedex and as soon as they receive the alert return from fedex they will begin to process and deliver a new one.

    I received my phone Saturday afternoon after 4:00pm. In order for me to do this whole process of printing out a label, going to fedex (don't live close to one, I would have to travel by transportation to a far destination), calling Assurant and waiting, staying in waiting for my delivery, it was not an easy decision to make. It was more of a headache! I work during the week. I don't arrive home till after 6:00pm. If I miss the delivery, I will have to go pick it up in person. I need my phone for work and for daily life activities.

    I can't be another week and be without a phone so I decided to just keep my multi scratched up phone. This whole process of returning and waiting another week for another delivery was upsetting and very disappointing! ****BEWARE BEFORE USING ANY OF THEIR "NEW PRODUCTS"**** I hope in the future Assurant can keep a CLOSER EYE on the products they are packing before they deliver it to customers. We don't have time to be redelivering disappointing products and fixing your mistakes.
