    It took 3 claims and almost a month to get a new phone. I finally had to have TMobile call on three way to stop getting the run around. After being told it wasn't covered or told it was the twenty four hours later track my claim to find out it's denied. After paying insurance for seventeen years it would have been cheaper to just buy a new one instead.

    This was the worst process I've had to endure to receive a phone replacement. The communication was so broken and inconsistent when dealing with different reps. The issues of the company (Assurant) with their lack of ability to receive multiple faxes from me of my phone bill, as requested, it was never received by company. These faces and emails have my personal info on them and they were claimed to have not been received until I was told by a rep to send them through a hidden link online. Very uncomfortable process.     VERY DISSATISFIED!!!! My daughter's iPhone 8 was cracked, I called Assurant, the customer service was excellent. However, when I received my replacement phone, it did not work properly. Not all text messages are going through. We reset the phone, powered it off and on again..it still does not work. I called assurant on March 21, they refused to send a different phone, they transferred me to T-Mobile, I was on hold for over 2 HOURS! NO ONE EVER PICKED UP!! I sent a message on the App and no one has responded....TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

    The screen on my iPhone broke and I called my mobile carrier T-Mobile. My mobile carrier was great and explained they would transfer me to file a claim with the insurance carrier I pay monthly for and that’s when it got overly complicated. I did not care that I had to pay a deductible.. I only cared that the person attempting to explain to me the process just couldn’t. Basically took my info and told me to contact them again in 24 hours but couldn’t explain why. Then I received an email from them a few hours later to complete the process. I didn’t even need to call back. All in all the person I spoke to made the process overly complicated and had no clue what they were doing.

    HORRID experience with this company. I signed up with the "Bring your own device plan" on T-Mobile. I bought insurance on my phone under that plan. T-Mobile contracts the insurance out to ASSURANT insurance company. Assurant would not process my claim. The store employees could not get my claim processed at T-Mobile even though they all said that my phone fell into the guidelines of the insurance claim. On my first day I spoke to three different people. I asked to speak with a supervisor when I spoke with the initial representative. She told me there was no supervisor available even though the phone call lasted for approximately 30 minutes.

    I called back later and was told that they could not process my claim unless I got some information from the company where the phone originated from (This information should have been on file because they took me on as a customer and the information is not provided until after entering a contract with them). Three people later with ASSURANT I was told my claim was processed and then 4 days later I find out it was not. Long story short I spoke to 10+ people and a 4hr phone call. No one was able to solve the situation that was not of my own making because the T-Mobile was billing me for a service (Assurant insurance) that is USELESS and then expects the customer to run all over town to fix it (during an epidemic nonetheless) and considering that my phone was broken I had no convenient way of contacting people without going to the places in person!

    This company engages in shameful behavior. I followed what they said, got them the initial info that they asked of me and then was asked for even more info (basically giving me a continuous run around and passing the buck, so they don't have to pay out on their claim). Customers enter into these contracts in good faith and this company is a pure rip off. I am still trying to recoup the funds from the other useless insurance they charged me on my second device. Their behavior ended up costing T-Mobile a customer.

    I am extremely upset and disappointed in the service I received. I received not only a physically broken device, but a malfunctioning one with no sound! I was on the phone for over an hour trying to straighten it out with customer service and was placed on holds for over 30 minutes! I was told that I wouldn't have to wait for the replacement to be received by the warehouse for my SECOND replacement phone to be shipped, that as soon as it was being tracked that I dropped it off, my new one would be sent same day delivery.

    LIES. I was placed on hold over and over while being told that this is all being annotated, and that a return label would be printed in 24 hours and then the following day to take it to FedEx, then call a couple hours later to confirm it is in the system and my replacement would be sent AT THAT TIME. More lies. When I returned the device the same day I got the label, which the representative told me to do the following day (So I returned it even earlier). I called a couple hours later only to have to argue with a representative before he would even access my account. He kept asking me about the original transaction and I kept trying to explain that it is all in the notes.

    It either wasn't there or he didn't look because he just kept giving me a generic response and told me that when they receive the device in the warehouse that my new device would be shipped. I even called back the following day to speak with someone else. Ultimately I was played, and now I have to wait 3 more days to receive my hopefully functional device. I am giving you guys the worst possible review if I have a chance on a site that matters. That is BS, and what are you going to do to make it up to me? Send me a working device like I already paid for? Yea, Gee.... Thanks for nothing.

    I've had 2 replacement devices sent out to me because The screen to my phone had cracked. Both devices that were sent out to me were defective and I needed to send them back. I sent them back and now after they told me I would have another sent out to me immediately comes to find out the manager I spoke with never shipped it. I have been without a phone for over a week now. I have no ways of communication in case of an emergency in this crazy time with this coronavirus because they keep sending me defective devices. I pay 12 dollars a month and My deductible of 99 dollars has been paid and I still don't have a device. Over a week now and I'm supposed to have it overnight. I will be canceling my policy and phone service.

    I was sent 2 defective devices and I had to send them back. Now I have to wait until they receive them back before shipping me out another. It'll be almost 2 weeks before I get a device. It's sad customers like myself have to go through and experience things like this. Oh yea. I drive trucks btw and had to go and purchase a navigation system for the truck because I don't have my phone for its GPS. I filed a full claim with the Better Business Bureau because Assurant is sending out defective device replacements. We buy our phones new and we should receive new replacement devices.

    I had to wait almost 30 days until my claim was submitted, accepted and processed. First the claim wasn't reviewed in the alloted time by Assurant. Then it was resubmitted. Failed to contact me about anything. So it sat there incomplete. Third they said I needed to submit my ID/ DL for ID verifications. Then it was flagged for FRAUD! 2 weeks later I had to call in again and resubmit the claim and in 5 days $385 later. I got my phone. But now thanks to the slackers at Assurant. My AppleCare+ is now VOID and expired. THANKS A LOT FOR ANOTHER WASTED $99 through Apple.

    It’s now day TWO of trying to replace my phone. It’s taking forever to finish filing for a claim. I Need a new phone ASAPPP and they won’t help me. They said it takes a few hours to get the request, called again and now they said it takes over 48hrs to receive it. I don’t know why I can’t just file for a claim right away rather than to wait for an email to continue it. This is BS! If I would’ve known this would happen I wouldn’t even had paid for insurance.     I thought the process and replacement order went very smoothly and was VERY quick. The Replacement Phone was received with 24 hours. Why I rated this a 3 star and not a 5 star, was due to the customer rep I spoke with on 3/9/20 should have provided better instruction on shipping the phone. My daughter's phone was stolen while she was on vacation. She attends college in a different part of the country and does not live at home. The phone would need to be shipped to an alternative address and she would not be returning until 3/12/20, which I explained. The rep stated the phone could be shipped in 24 hours from filing the claim. Since she would not be home until 3/12, I did not want claim filed until 3/11.

    I called back on 3/11 to file the claim and request the phone be shipped to an alternate address. The rep indicated at that time it could take 3-5 days to ship because this would require another layer of verification (and that time frame could not be guaranteed). I then had the phone shipped to me, and then paid $94 (due to insurance) to ship next day to my daughter's address. I feel if the first rep would have explained this to me, I could have saved $94 and the phone would arrived in the same timeframe.

    The screen on my phone was cracked. I wanted to take it to a shop to just repair the screen (no other issue with the phone) however I was not given the option to do that. My ONLY option was to spend $100 for a replacement phone. I didn't want a replacement that is pre owned and refurbished. My phone still looked new besides the screen, and I was the only owner! It's absolutely ridiculous that customers that PAY FOR INSURANCE only have one option for an android phone. If I had an iPhone I would have been able to have my screen repaired for $30 within an hour! Instead I had to wait 2 days for the replacement to come in the mail, then make sure ALL my photos and other media was completely transferred (had to do it more than once) it was very inconvenient and extremely disappointing! Give customers the option to fix THEIR OWN PHONE! We're paying for the service. We might as well be happy when having to use it!

They give you 10 days to return it but because of the pandemic we are going I couldn't go to stores to have them help me transfer everything to my new phone and I was stressed by the 10 day return it or you get charge for the phone.     It was terrible! I called in and was transferred back and forth between Assurance and T-Mobile 5 times! I called Assurant first and was then transferred to T-Mobile, then they transferred me back and forth again. I believe it was because the phone was less than a year old so Assurant thought T-Mobile would cover it but since the screen was damaged, it was an Assurant claim. But no one except the last 2 people I talked to explained this so I was a Ping-Pong ball for over an hour! I've filed claims before that were fine, but this one really made up for it. I'm very unhappy with this whole experience.

    I contacted Assurant to get my phone replaced since they do business with my phone carrier, T-Mobile. I paid the deductible and received a tracking slip for my new device. The package never showed (I have webcam proof it didn't) and an investigation initiated by Assurant was started on Feb 3 with UPS. UPS asserts that they delivered the package and will not pay out the insurance fee to Assurant. Because of this, a manager named Davon ID #** notified me they cannot reimburse me for my deductible and that I MUST send in my broken device (which I've paid in full to t-mobile) in order to receive a refund and that I would not be receiving a replacement device.

    An employee named Pristy had left a note on my account before contacting Davon that I wouldn't be eligible for a refund. I've contacted at least manager before and several representatives saying I could receive a refund, though I wouldn't get a replacement device (which is okay for me). This is obviously a scam and fraud.

    The phone shipped to me was damaged. When I received my replacement Galaxy Note 9 I put the phone directly on charge as instructions, the next day the phone showed moisture in charge port of and on through 3 days, then stopped charging, I called service and was told I would have to pay another $175 deductible to get another as if it had been my fault. This is not acceptable, I did not damage the phone as it was a remanufactured one with issues already, so I had to trade that phone in on a new one which I could not currently afford to do with the current circumstances. I will be dropping insurance with you all if nothing is done about this, I've paid to have your insurance for at least 6 years.

    Waiting for 10 days for a correct replacement phone. First phone, cracked and wrong color (was to be cosmic gray, came in hot pink). Second phone was assured to be the right color, was not cosmic gray, again hot pink. Third phone was delivered to local FedEx and was requested returned to shipper by shipper because second replacement phone was not in warehouse yet was still in transit from Fedex. (No fault of the customer.) Spoken with the call center several times (told once, "Sorry you receive what you receive," hung up on by another) and an Assurant Manager (Luke) and all very much talk with no positive results so far. So, once again waiting on an updated email to know when my next day replacement phone may arrive. I've had Assurant for years with no issues until now. Now, it seems as if the customer has completed all requirements as directed, they are not a priority at all.

    I had a Galaxy S8 that I had purchased in Dec. 2018 on which the motherboard was failing. This was causing charging issues. The sent me a replacement and before I even got the old phone to the post office I had the same trouble with the replacement phone. When I called to report it they told me to send it back and they would send me a new one. I cannot be without a phone, especially in these times.     I submitted my claim on a Sunday and my replacement phone arrived Tuesday. I'm extremely satisfied with the quick delivery and with the replacement phone I received. It is even blue like the one I accidentally damaged.     Stolen or Lost the device was never recovered. Assurant denied coverage. 48 hr tape was never assigned. Roadside assistance was never dispatched. Lost while filling up gas can into car. Drives me crazy to think I pulled out along the side of the road with phone on roof. Horrible situation nonetheless but who knows - under seat, stuck in the mud, stolen at the next gas station. First time my insurance denied a claim on wireless cell phone carrier. Lost a brand new device but was rather not satisfied with the LG V40. Too much anyways.     I have filed insurance claims on phones before and have had a phone in a day, this time they required extra information that I had to send, so I did, they said I did not send it correctly that I needed it to be sent via a link from an email they sent me, they never sent me an email, ever, I checked spam etc, never got it. I proceeded to continue to send my information 6 times via upload and even faxed it once, they tried to say there were scratches on the picture. It looked tampered with, well it was my husbands ID and it was scratched up, it's called wear and tear, I explained to them it was imperative I get a phone as my daughters broken phone while usable had glass falling off of it, they still took their time, it took in total about 11 days for them to finally approve this claim, it was absolutely ridiculous on their part.     They were quick to take the deductible, sent a defective replacement phone and now they don't want to accommodate us in sending a working phone. All they say is, "That is our policy." After speaking to about 5 representatives 4 said, "There's nothing else to do, you have to send the defective replacement first then we will send another." Leaving us without a phone for a day or two. One representative assured me on a 3 way call with T-Mobile rep that she could help. She said, "Hold on I'm going to place you on hold to avoid the order." Then just hung up. Called to complain, that rep said she probably hung up because she was not going to be able to help me.. wow wow wow worst customer service I have ever dealt with. After years and years of paying their fees, the one time I need them, they don't care to help. I wish someone could do something about this.     Do not like the Assurant product or process after my experience. I was traveling on my vacation when I lost my phone. The agent I talked to said she could get me a replacement the next day. I said "great" because I needed a phone AND I need to fly home the next evening. When UPS came the next day without my phone, I called Assurant only to learn that the first agent I spoke with MEANT TO SAY that my phone would ship the next day, not arrive the next day. So, I had to cancel my claim (which led to multiple phone calls to get it really cancelled) and go buy a new phone at the Apple Store. At the Apple Store, I learned that if I would have had Apple insurance, I could have gotten my phone replaced right then and there. So, I will never use again nor recommend the Assurant phone protection coverage. If you are an Apple phone user, get their insurance - cheaper and better than what Assurant offers.

    First of all it took over a week to get my phone. I placed a claim on a Saturday. The email states it will take 24 hours to get my answered. I never received one email on the process of my claim. I had to call 4 times to get my claim moving, but every time I called no body could give me an answer on why my claim was taking so long. That is horrible services.     My mobile device experienced a mechanical and electrical breakdown just four days after the manufacturer's warranty ended. My mobile carrier referred me to Assurant. I submitted a claim online - the first and only claim insurance claim that I have ever made for a mobile device - and my claim was promptly denied. Though Assurant's email referenced a reason for the denial, a reason was not specified in the email itself. When I called Assurant for more information, I spoke with a representative who was quite rude; he repeatedly informed me that Assurant does only covers physical damage, not mechanical or electrical breakdowns, and that I would have to contact the manufacturer for a warranty replacement.

    When I read the terms and conditions of the coverage for my device, it clearly stated that mechanical and electrical breakdowns would be covered upon expiration of the manufacturer's warranty. At that time, the representative disconnected my call. I called again, and a second representative was more courteous, but I was again informed that Assurant only covers physical damage, not mechanical or electrical breakdowns.

    Ultimately, a Customer Care Manager from my mobile carrier had to join me in a conference call with Assurant. It was determined that Assurant's records reflected inaccuracies, which led them to believe that the device was still covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Once that error was corrected, the claim was revised and approved; the $100 deductible was paid; and the refurbished replacement was received on the next day.

    Overall, I am sorely disappointed by my experience with Assurant. I understand that they are assisting hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of customers every day. However, I wasted quite a lot of time, arguing with representatives who refused to assist me - all while providing erroneous information - due to a mistake in THEIR records. I never received an apology for the inconvenience, or an acknowledgment of the time that they wasted. If this experience is representative of what it is typically like to file a claim with Assurant, I would be happy if I never had to deal with them again.

    When I call to file my claim, the very first question I asked is how long do I have to return my broken phone. I explained the reason why I need to know that before filing your claim. It's because I'm going out of town for a few days and I wanted to have plenty of time to do the data transfer because my screen was broken to the point I couldn't access my old phone so I had to send it somewhere for them to transfer everything professionally. She told me 90 days. That didn't sound right to me so I make sure I confirmed with her "90 days??" She said yes. I double confirmed by saying "ninety? As in nine, zero?" Again she said yes.

    I told her numerous times that I needed to make sure I had plenty of time to file or else I would just wait till I get back in town to file my claim but 90 days is plenty of time! I really don't understand will the amount of times we spoke about "90 days" and me confirming with her twice and I didn't hear her wrong... How this could happen? I did send my phone back yesterday which I think puts me at 7 or 8 days. But if I get charged for that phone, I'm going to be very angry and upset!! And you guys will hear from me!!

    I recently had to file a claim for a stolen phone. Initially filling the claim went well. This started on a Sunday morning, I didn't receive the first replacement until Tuesday. I could have been okay with that since it was a weekend. The phone that I received was the wing phone, a Google pixel 4 not the pixel 4 XL. We immediately called and were told that we would not receive a shipping label for 24 hours and they would not bother with starting the process to ship the proper phone until it was confirmed that the wrong phone was being shipped.

    Staff was unwilling to help remedy the wrongdoing that they created. We had to wait longer than 24 hours to even receive a label to return the wrong phone. Once the phone was shipped back we were then told that I had to pay another $100 because not only did they send the wrong phone but mischarged me as well. There was absolutely no effort made by Assuurant to help expedite or correct the mishandling of the claim. I would give negative stars if that was possible. What should have been an overnight replacement took 4 days. The correct phone was not received until Thursday afternoon. At that point the SIM card did not work and had to be replaced at a T-Mobile store so I didn't have a working phone until Friday. This is the worst customer service I have ever received.

    Before commenting below, I would like to inform you that my background is customer service Management in human resource management. I would never want to leave this comment on anyone's surveys because I understand how much weight these surveys carry. I am not sure if the system can be adjusted or not. I'm not sure if there's a computer programmer that could modify some things on the computer.

    However, when a customer is calling in due to a loss, there should be a way to streamline the needs of the customer. If there are multiple instances of calls and long narratives, there should be a way or separate window that comes up to Samurai the results of the call. By doing this, there's no need to have the customer wait for long periods of time while he or she reads through the narrative to try and find the in result of the call. Also, the customer would not be given incorrect information, as I was given almost occasions. I am assuming, it is because they were trying so hard to read through the multiple case notes in the file.

    There were times I was speaking to a customer service rep that I requested to speak to your supervisor multiple times cuz he was not giving me correct information. There was even a time, I was speaking to a supervisor where he did not give me correct information and I requested to speak with another supervisor, multiple times. This supervisor hung up the phone, after stating, "Thank you for calling Assurant. Have a nice day."

    I did however speak with Susan. She was the most empathetic apologetic and top notch customer service release floor supervisor I've ever come across. She kept me updated. She called me when she said she was going to call me. Another individual went into the system and added something to the account that she did not put in there, she made sure to inform me of that is well. I informed her of the other customer service floor supervisor's actions. She stated she was not only a called but also embarrassed. She stated she pulled the phone call and send it to her supervisor. Eric, I know another floor supervisor also called me to inform me that Susan would get back in contact with me at her earliest convenience when she returned from her weekend off.

    This is the type of customer service I know you're proud of. However, I'm sure you're not so proud of the other comments I made. If I can be of any other assistance please let me know. I would like to end on a positive note. I received my device yesterday evening. I am hoping someone at the T-Mobile store is able to move all of my old data to my new phone.     When I first filed my claim (or any other previous claims) nothing was asked about a purchase receipt. When I reopened my claim they ask for one and when I told them that the broken item was from an Apple care claim the representative told me that I needed the receipt for it. So I had to call Apple, which was super inconvenient because they make you wait so long for a representative, and when I emailed Assurant the receipt from that claim they told me it was the incorrect receipt. So I called T-mobile and when T-mobile sent me my purchase receipt from two years ago, it didn't have a purchase date but it had everything else they didn't accept it either.

    I had to call back t mobile and they notified me I had to go to the original store where I had purchased the item and get the receipt because it was too old to look up on the system. Because I don't live in the same area anymore I could not go to the store and had a whole back and forth with t mobile just to get the purchase receipt. Overall, I felt Assurant could have use all the documents I turned in collectively to verify my purchase. I had a very bad experience.

    On Feb 4th, my phone was snatched/stolen from my hand while I was on the bus coming home from work (from Kent, Washington). Very scary, and still giving me nightmares! I did everything I could, filed a report that night, requested video footage from the metro, and there is an open and ongoing investigation as two men were working together that night. My phone was stolen, but so much more was taken that night, sense of security, personal information, privacy, I was violated, and it was a scary situation, as the guy who pulled the cord to stop the bus stayed on the bus while I called 911, and gave my personal info, and his friend who stole my phone fled. I have insurance with Assurant, and paid $250 and felt lucky to receive a refurbished phone.

    Saturday, I got the call that Deputy Joshua Lamothe had received my stolen phone in the mail, came from home office in Kentucky of a kiosk where it was turned in for $60 cash. I called Assurant and T-Mobile to explain the situation, and ASSURANT told me I would need to return the refurbished phone to receive my refund, $250 back. That was great news!!! BUT now three days later Assurant is telling me, that I am NOT within the 14 day time frame, and I am required to turn in the "stolen phone". It is their property / belongs to them, and I am not to get a refund. (???) WoW! Just wow, I am asking for this situation to be redeemed and hope and pray that I can find some sort of closure - it was bad enough I have to live with that scary experience, but worse that Assurant cannot help me further.

    The person I talked with today, from Assurant was inconsiderate, and her advice was to write a letter to corporate office, with a tone that in our conversation that literally brought me to tears streaming down my face - as she repeatedly told me - the phone is priority of Assurant and I am not in a 14 day window - All of this is just so unbelievable to me - I was told three days ago a DIFFERENT story! Just heartbreaking all around!!!

    I had the most frustrating experience trying to receive a replacement phone through Assurant. When I filed on 2/23 the site did not accept my passport and also would not let me sign in to check my claim status. I called and was told to send in ID through contact us page on 2/24. Then not hearing anything I called again and was told the site was down and haven’t gotten the ID’s. On 2/25 I was told to email them to Assurant. I wait a couple days and hear nothing. So I call again and they still haven’t received my pictures and now my phone has been placed on back order. I call on Friday 2/28 and they say that they have no idea when the phones will be in but the earliest I can get my phone is the next Monday. I eventually get an email over the weekend saying my phone will be shipped. I get the phone on Tuesday, over a week later. I work from my phone and essentially lost money all week because of this mistakes of the company. I am not pleased.

So now I had to wait 24 hours to receive a new shipping label to send back.     I was forced to pay a deductible of $99 to fully replace my wife's Galaxy S10+ for a front cracked screen when in reality it only needed a front screen repair which would normally cost half that price with any other insurance provider. On top of that the replacement device is only working in 3G network which has been a big inconvenience for my wife.

    After giving Spectrum Mobile a call to resolve the issue they were suppose to send me a new sim card which would correct the issue but after a week of waiting we came to the conclusion that it wasn't going to come because possibly it was never sent to begin with. After calling spectrum mobile back a week later after waiting for the sim to arrive, we were informed that it was never actually sent so here we are over a week later without the issue resolved but you guys sure don't have any issue taking our money every month for protection or charging us a deductible fee for a simple screen replacement. You wouldn't even hear me complaining had you sent a replacement device with a 4G compatible sim card. But you didn't and now we're here, unsatisfied. Good job Assurant!
