    When getting out of my car, I dropped my phone in my purse (or so I thought). While in the store I searched for my phone but couldn't find it so I went to check my car. On my way to the car I noticed my phone was in the parking lot driveway on its face. I couldn't believe I dropped it outdoors because I didn't hear it fall (due to it having a phone protector). However, when I picked it up, I saw that it had been run over which caused damage to the top screen. I ordered replacement phone and was surprised to receive it the very next day!     First off they offered me free next day shipping and it took a week for my replacement phone to arrive. I addressed to the supervisors and they basically told me I couldn’t do anything. I asked to speak to the people above the supervisor and I was told they would give me a within 24 to 48 hours. It’s over a week and I still haven’t received a call. This insurance company is TERRIBLE!

    I was unable to get the the serial number because the phone was inoperable. I was transferred numerous time and was told they could not assist. Then finally was transferred to someone at TMobile who provided the incorrect information. I only found out that my claim was not approved due to incorrect information is because I called to check the status. No one ever reached out to me.

    I've been paying for insurance on my phone since I purchased it, incase the inevitable happened. And it did. On 12/23/20 I dropped my phone and broke it. I filled out my claim on 12/24/20 before heading to the beach for a week. I never received a confirmation email or any type of communication from Assurant. After calling today, 1/6/21, they told me they should've sent out a replacement or contacted me to let me know they didn't have the right phone. I was never contacted by anyone. This company is a joke. I asked to speak to a supervisor about it and they informed me I could get a discount on the deductible or something similar.

    When I spoke to the supervisor, they didn't honor that. They even told me that there's nothing I can do and they have to charge me the full amount even though I've been without my replacement device for 2 weeks. I will be posting on all my social media channels and letting all of my friends know what a waste of money Assurant insurance is.

    I dropped my phone, which cracked the screen and damaged the front lens camera. I had it repaired as recommended at Batteries Plus. When I got it back, the phone screen was fine, but the front camera wasn't working properly. I went back and was told I'd have to submit a new claim with another deductible applying, but then was told that they couldn't even repair/replace the camera. So now the front camera isn't working properly and I'm told there's nothing they can do.

    Another great experience. This is a must have for me. Definitely get my money's worth. Only one time I have I ever had a bad experience the phone I was supposed to send back never arrived and according to the tracking never was even shipped out. I was kind of mad about that at first but I went ahead and chalked it up and paid for it. It wasn't as much as paying for a new phone. Now on a document the phone as I put it in the package I document it as it goes in the mail, pictures and everything so I never have to deal with that again.     I have received two replacement Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phones from this company in which neither one of them are functioning properly. If I receive a call, I CAN NOT answer the call unless I use my bluetooth device or put the call on speaker. BOTH Phones sound EXTREMELY Distorted and there are times when I can't hear the person on the call at all. I have spoken to two "Floor Supervisors" and three or four of your associates and have been dealing with this issue since 12/16/20 and it is STILL unresolved.

    The supervisors and the associates have been VERY professional in trying to help me with this issue. However, they have NO control with the obviously Untested JUNK that comes out of your warehouse. Clearly if both phones have the same problem, then I think it's safe to say, that part of the "Refurbished Junk" is not being tested before it's being sent out to the consumer. I am going to receive a third phone from "Assurant" and I'm hoping that you all can "Assure" me that it will be functioning properly BEFORE it leaves the warehouse. This is VERY aggravating and a huge inconvenience. So as it stands now, my "Rating Experience" is not even worthy of one star but since I'm being forced to give at least one star in order to submit this review, there it is. Maybe if I get a phone that has been tested and works like it should, then I can re-rate my experience.

    I've been having issues with my replacement device. Customer service will only send another device after they receive the 1st replacement device. I would have to go without a phone in order to do that. Replacement devices are refurbished devices not new devices.

    After I made my claim With lady number one very nice. The Automatic system didn’t take my debit card information. Something went wrong and I ended up with customer service again. The guy I had this time was very unfriendly and rude. After having me on the phone for another 15 minutes I could not Give him my debit card number because he hung up on me. Now I had to call again and the lady this time took care of my problem in less than five minutes. The whole thing took about a little over an hour. And with having a newborn my time is precious, I canceled my insurance now.

Called Assurant and was guaranteed that I would not be charged, as the phone was received and only needed to be "processed." Two months later, got a non-return fee jammed through my mobile bill.

    Several calls (and hours) later, T-Mobile kindly removed the charge. But the fact remains that Assurant has inconvenienced me, lied to me, wasted my time and T-Mobile's, and, frankly, has me wondering about whether to stick with Google (Pixel) and T-Mobile. Assurant has two jobs: handle claims, and don't be crappy. If it fails at either, the repercussions are felt far and wide.

    I submitted a claim on December 15th for a replacement of my lost LG Stylo 5. I received my new phone a couple days later that was a LG Stylo 6 thinking that Assurant did not have any LG Stylo 5s and sent a LG Stylo 6 instead. Everything was great until my father's phone lost service yesterday. My father went to a T-Mobile store today to figure out what was going on with his phone. It was discovered that his phone had been blocked by Assurant. He had the T-Mobile representative call Assurant to get his phone unblocked. He spoke to a customer service representative who explained that they would not unblock his phone until the replacement phone was received and scanned into the warehouse.

    The representative at Assurant said the claimed would be denied and I would have to submit another claim. My father then asked for a Supervisor who stated the same thing and then hung up on him. He had the T-Mobile representative call back and spoke to another representative and asked to be transferred to a Supervisor and was hung up on again.     When I accidentally dropped my new Samsung Galaxy Note 20 phone, and the screen cracked, I contacted Assurant to file a claim. I readily assumed that having paid my insurance premiums through T Mobile for several years, and having filed no past claims, that I would be sent a new phone to replace the one that had been damaged after having owned it for ONLY TWO WEEKS. I was instead completely shocked to discover that Assurant had instead sent me a USED phone, that had apparently been returned in response to someone else's claim, and I was now expected to relinquish my brand new two week old 1200.00 phone in exchange for someone else's problem. To say I'm disgusted and feel completely cheated is an understatement. Had anyone at Assurant bothered to explain this process to me, "We'll send you a refurbished phone in exchange for your brand new phone", I would never had filed a claim to begin with!

    When I noted the unacceptable quality of the phone that was sent to me, I contacted Assurant to cancel the claim. I'm now returning the refurbished phone to them, at my tremendous inconvenience, and will now have to pay out of pocket to have my screen fixed because of course simple repairs aren't covered. I'm sincerely considering leaving T Mobile and going to another carrier because of this scam insurance company. What's the point of insuring your phone if they won't repair or replace it without attempting to seize my new phone in exchange for someone else's previously damaged phone. Very very disappointed with this company.

    Where do I begin: Filed on Dec 7 and received the phone on December 23-16 days later. I had to call daily to track progress and often there was no process. I was often stuck in limbo given a "we are so sorry there is nothing we can do" story. The employees are nice but don't seem to good any power and they dragged their feet on escalating it to the inventory supervisor. My replacement phone was in and out of stock for 16 days and it was clear that I wasn't prioritized to receive a phone. Priority for low stock phones should be based on wait time. At one point they had a phone for me but gave it away by the time I called to inquire about it an hour and a half later.

    Assurant should have alternatives like loaner phones or gve a credit to buy a new phone if they can't get you a phone in a week or so. They use FedEx to ship items. FedEx is the worst as far as actually delivering items. And they lie to boot that someone wasn't home when someone was home. I called at 740 worried that the FedEx driver wouldn't make the 8 pm. I was reassured by a FedEx customer service rep that the driver was still on his way. Surely enough it wasn't delivered and the worst of it is that the driver lied about attempted delivery. Got the phone on day 3 but only because I kept calling to track it. I was stuck at home for 3 days waiting on this package during the holidays when I had a ton of things to do. It also delayed my travels during the holiday season. Apparently the package wasn't sent with a signature required so if delivered while away and it would have been stolen, then what? That was foolish on Assurant's part.

    Someone at Assurant sent it care of Joseph ** when they have been corresponding with Marisol ** all along. That is a major oversight. Even IF I had the means to pick it up from some other facility or location, wouldn't have been able to because you need to present ID that shows the same name and address and you all made a big blunder! This process was DREADFUL and made me feel anxious very upset and like my hands were tied.

    What SHOULD AND NEEDS TO BE DONE: This is beyond ridiculous and I should be refunded the $99 deductible I had to pay. Furthermore, Assurant should credit me for my T-Mobile family plan bill since at this point, I am paying for a month of cell phone service, yet I haven't used the phone half this month. I was losing income by not having a phone.

    Not having a phone when you are a freelancer and interviewing for other jobs affects me. As a freelance marketing and communications professional, I have to use my phone a lot. It is a big part of how I get paid and work. My day rate is $400 (50 an hour) and I have lost $ because of this. I am also looking for other positions and need my phone for interviews. In addition, my phone is my camera, my alarm clock, my navigation, etc. AND it's Christmas! I NEED a phone for the holidays-to take pictures, to call family, etc. I don't have a back-up phone, I use my daughter's phone when I can and it's available, but she needs it too!

    What Assurant should have done was cut me a check for the price of the phone or worked it out so that I get a credit to the TMobile store after a week so that I wouldn't be dealing with this now. Up to this point, all Assurant has done is apologize and empathize and that is not good enough. I want this escalated to someone that can actually do something and email me regarding steps to properly compensate me for all this. In addition I should have more time to send my old phone back. It'd the holidays and I got my phone two days late.

    Updated on 1/2/2020: The saga continues: After 3 phone calls, I finally received a replacement phone. The phone has a scratch on the back power button, does not hold a charge for more than 3 hours and drops calls with no notice. I called, complained and received a 2nd phone - the back of the phone is damaged. I thought it was just dirty, but it would not clean off, so definitely damage of some kind. I had warned both the Tmobile rep and the Assurant rep that the phone drops call and upon request, gave them a land line they could call back on if the call was dropped....Of course while in the middle of handling the claim, the Assurant rep put me on hold and the call ended immediately. So I waited for 2 hours for someone to call me back, and nothing. So I am shipping Phone #2 back today and will try again to get a phone that does not look like it went thru a war and works at 100%.

    My advice - don't let any phone rep talk you into this insurance. It really appears to be a scam. It seems to me that Assurant is handling claims by replacing policy holder's broken phones with recycled, damaged phones to reduce any cost to themselves. So much money paid in premiums and I can't get a decent phone that is not damaged and one that actually works ie: holds a charge, allows phone calls etc. I am now looking for a new phone company and a new phone insurance company.

    Original review: While I appreciate the quickness with which my claim was handled, there was some initial confusion and it took 3 separate phone calls to Assurant to get it filed and then completed. Slightly ridiculous. My 2nd issue is that I received a used phone as a replacement. The 'refurbished' phone is obviously used and my old phone was in better shape prior to the accident. Very disappointed. I would not recommend the insurance to anyone who asked. I expected a new or at least like new condition phone. I am not a happy customer.

    This would be my second replacement. The first one that I received the charge port was not working properly and the phone would not charge so I contacted you to get a replacement for that one and was told that I still had to pay the $60 for the deductible. Now why on Earth would you pay the deductible on the first phone and receive it and have it not be a functioning phone and be okay with this? But after trying and trying to get it straightened out I got tired of dealing with talking to people that just didn't have the answers and I said to heck with it. I'll pay the $60 just to be done with it but not very happy with that and the refund that I just got. I'm having issues with it. I've been with this company for quite a while.     Good morning,

    I am extremely disappointed in the service I received from Samsung Protection plus. To have to wait 1 month for a replacement phone due to a mistake that was made by you all is inexcusable. I pay $12 every month on-time and If I did not, you would deny my claim without hesitation but that was not the case. You however, decided to deny my claim and hold it in limbo for 1 month while collecting my membership fee as well as bouncing me back and forth to Samsung account support and then back to you repeatedly. I wasted time, energy and had to spend way longer than I needed to with a malfunctioning Samsung device.

    When I finally got my replacement device, I was not notified that it had shipped. There are problems with your system and taking ownership for mistakes that were made. If you send out a replacement device to a customer, it is your responsibility to make sure that the IMEI and insurance is tied to this device. The sheer treatment of a loyal customer in this way is not excusable. I expect to be compensated in some manner for this.

    A bad service in the system, it is not updated. They ask you to upload an ID and do not have the option to upload documents in their menus. The operator makes you feel as if you were a fool not to be able to upload the photo on their system, when they really don't have that option. They had me asking for identification for 3 weeks and they didn't have that option. For that reason they didn't approve my claim until later they realized that they were the ones who made the mistake by not having that option on their menu.     Assurant mobile device insurance seems to be an okay service so far. I give 4 stars in comparison to most other corrupt insurance companies. This is the first time I had to use the insurance and my replacement phone was delivered the next day. It was thought to have been the charging port on the phone that was damaged. It was the charger. I called to tell them what the real problem was and was told all I have to do is ship the replacement device back and they'll refund the deductible. That's in process now as I'm writing this review. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the deductible should be lower and the replacement phones should be new phones, not reconditioned phones. The insurance premium and deductible customers pay covers more than the cost of a new phone. We're being cheated out of the premium money we pay each month if the replacement phones we get when we need to use the insurance are used reconditioned phones.

    That's typical of insurance companies wanting to do all they can to limit the amount of the customer's money they actually spend on the customer to use their own insurance. They want to keep as much of that money as they can. That's why they put such extreme limitations on what is covered under the insurance. Too bad the USA is built on such greed. No other developed country treats their citizens as badly as the United States.

    They sent me the wrong phone. Pixel 3 something or other 2 days after I filed. AND it was a refurb. Then they sent me the right phone. I'm not sure if it's a refurb or not. But, I have not had an insurance claim ever and I pay the 6 bucks a month. I had to pay a $250 deductible when I've probably paid for a new phone in insurance alone. What they should do, is if your codon qualifies you should be able to go to a T-Mobile store, buy your phone and they zero it out. Or at least provide the money towards, so if you get a more expensive one they at least pay the cost of the old one. I don't know. But, what did happen is I then had to wait 24 hours til they knew the wrong phone was definitely on its way back via the USPS BEFORE they'd send me the one they were supposed to send in the first place. This is NOT good customer service. Someone should get fired.

    The phone was shipped immediately, and appeared to be in great shape but it has "dead spots." Certain areas of the the screen doesn't respond...at all. Makes me wonder what was the point of paying insurance for those 2 to 3 years?

    Assurant states they will replace my phone with an equivalent or upgraded phone and overnight ship it. Instead, I am still waiting a week and a half later and having to make a number of daily phone calls to be told they have no phones to send me. Three days ago, they told me they found a phone and gave me a FedEx tracking number but FedEx says they only have shipping information but no package. My phone quit working on 12/11/2020 and I made a claim on 12/12/2020. Today is 12/21/2020 and I've called Assurant but haven't received a callback.

The address on the envelope the Claims Department sent with the New Device was wrong and the Device was stuck at the Post office in York, Pa for 3 weeks. Metro Claims Department Sucks Big Time.     My phone was lost, I opened a claim and they sent a phone which never arrived. After 1 week I called them. They said they have to open investigation which takes 14 days. I asked them if this is fair that they chose a crappy shipping method and they failed to deliver the product for me to not have a phone replaced for 21 days? I asked for a supervisor and the supervisor also useless said same thing. My phone is locked by Metro and they could easily see the sim and phone hasn’t been received or activated and they should fulfill their promises then do whatever to do with that investigation. Poooor customer service. Poooor Management.

    I had to deal with this situation since October because you didn't have a replacement phone for me. I was told I could purchase a replacement phone from T-Mobile and get a full reimbursement and here it is December 20th and your company can't get their info correct to send me my reimbursement! I have all the emails showing I did my part in the process and still you can't get your end correct! This is ridiculous and unprofessional how I get a different story each time I have to be inconvenienced having to call in over and over.

    I need this problem remedied asap, I did my part in the process now it's your turn to do your job. This should not be a 3-4 month process to have a claim handled. I am charged every month for a service that your company cannot manage to provide! If there was a second option to choose from for insurance I would ditch your company in a heartbeat.
