    I accidentally tossed my phone in the washing machine. I called customer service and she was awesome. She was polite, friendly and didn't question how I damaged my phone, just accepted what I told her. UPS took almost a week to get me the phone from Texarkana to New Boston (25 miles). But that is not the fault of Assurant. Pleasant experience. I do however have to go to a Metro store since my SIM card won't read.

    My experience with Assurant was horrible and I was charged for a phone that was destroyed and I was told didn't need back. It was shattered in 1000's of pieces but your Assurant Rep told me I should have sent it back even if it was in pieces along with the dirt from the ground. That's WRONG - very upset with the way this claim was handled and I had to pay the deductible for the replacement and STILL BILLED for $284 for the phone that was damaged.

    The shipper still has not delivered my device after a week with no delivery date available. Assurant keeps telling I have to wait indefinitely because the shipper is having problems. That's not my problem. Assurant should have canceled the delivery on their end, requested the device be sent back to them. In the process Assurant should have resent me another device with a different shipper. I take it I'm receiving this email because even Assurant thinks I should have received my device by now. Do better for your customers. The customer should never be penalized for things that are out of their control. That's for Assurant to deal with.

    I still haven't received my phone but FedEx said they couldn't deliver it cuz there was no such address. Now when I finally got a hold of your company the address is right on the box but they wanted MetroPCS to call them and allow them to deliver the phone. Makes no sense so what do I go from here? I went through five people and it all started from all over again and the people I was talking to three of them I couldn't even understand.     Cons: It took 3 weeks to get this straightened out and get my replacement phone. Had to call in 3 times to get this all straightened out. First rep said he was forwarding my claim for processing, but actually cancelled my claim. 2nd rep reopened the claim - never received a verification on it being processed. 3rd call I demanded to speak with a supervisor and then it got processed. Follow-up is non-existent.

    The replacement sent to me has the same issues the first one did. Which is some inabilities at times to press the screen and get a response. Such as when choosing items in YouTube. Many times the first two rows will not allow me to access those videos. And I did not receive a charger with my replacement either. Both where lost/stolen together. I paid almost half of the original price to get a replacement. Not worth the money each month to have insurance.

    Took a very long time to process my claim. My documents were constantly not going through. They were not informative when on the phone. For instance they never told us it was the primary Acct holder whose DL they needed and not the phone owners. This delayed the process 4 days. Was a lot of the runaround and time consuming. Plan to switch phone companies due to this being the insurance for my current carrier. Went 2 weeks without a phone due to the process this insurance makes you go through to file a claim.

    12/01/2020 filed a claim when my phone began to not charge, the screen was cracked & having misc. problems with my insured phone. Today is 3/01/2021I still am trying to get Assurant to respect our contract! I received a used phone with no charger, cord, tool to open slot for the sim, instructions for loading the sim & the phone itself never worked. I returned it & was told they had not received it and I was suddenly responsible for its shipping. I had handed it to the postman & knew it had been mailed because I had filled out the return address. So after feeling accused of lying & having to do far more than was my responsibility they "discovered" the phone was & had been there & I thought they were going to make things right.

    Another month and a couple of phone calls & still I had to purchase a phone. I was saving for a 5G phone but was forced to settle for a cheap phone after paying my deductible. My last call was with the first employee I have felt any confidence in & she discovers my replacement phone was being held up waiting for another address to mail my phone to. It seems that there is always an excuse and everyone passes the buck at Assurant. I don't understand an insurance company that doesn't believe in insurance but they do not insure the phones but blame the postal service where ever a scapegoat is needed.

    As I was saying the last customer service member I spoke with is the first to make me feel like a valued customer & she made no excuses, was polite & took responsibility & even apologized for all the problems with my claim. They have breached our contract in many ways the most recent was to their sister company who sells Medicare insurance! I would die & be buried in a potters field before giving up one more minute it one cent to any of the Assurant companies!

    The replacement phone I received was dirty and obviously refurbished. I understand the replacement phones could be used but you didn't even replace the previous owner's dirty screen protector. Very gross. Especially with COVID. How can I be confident the rest of the phone was taken care of during the refurbishing process? I would like a new, clean phone. Maybe even an upgrade?     It took too many calls and too many days to get approved. Each time I call it was something different and if I did not call, I would never know that it was not processed, I have not received the replacement yet and it is now one month ago that I reported this item lost. Your slow response to verify and FedEx who have not delivered the item makes you look inefficient and uses poor excuse like this virus and the weather. This is no excuse.

    I can not provide an honest review or give five stars because as of today 02/28/2021, I have not received my phone. It would seem as if this company would have measurements in place just in case there are some unforeseeable situations that occurred. It would seem as if they would be able to make other arrangements and support the customer that is paying the insurance for the device. I am not please with this process and will be looking into this type of situation so that no other customer is affected in the future like I am currently.     It was mostly a smooth process, though because it was shipped through UPS, it took an extra day or so for me to get it, as they wanted to deliver it while I was home and I'm never home during delivery hours because of my job. There was also a point of confusion in that I was told to send the phone in the prepaid packaging back through UPS, but when I went there they said it was meant to go to USPS. They took it anyway seeing my confusion but it may well cause a delay in it's arrival which makes me nervous since I was told I had 10 days from when it shipped. If that happens I'll have to try to sort it out because I don't have the money for a full fee replacement, but the phone was sent and is en route. All in all quick and efficient turn around but could really use a bit more clarity for its eta and to send it back via USPS and not UPS.

    First of all, when I bought the original phone and opted to insure it, I was never informed that there was a $50.00 deductible by the Metro PCS store.     I filed a claim on February 11th and was sent a phone that did not charge or turn on a DOA phone. I took the phone to my local Metro PCS and they confirmed the phone DOA and called Assurant. I've spoken to representatives on 4 different occasions, 4 different days trying to get a return shipping label via email. NONE WAS SENT!!! Now I have to pay for return shipping because THEY sent me a non working replacement phone and won't sent a return shipping label. Meanwhile I reset my phone. I was going to replace and it now works BUT they offer no refund for my claim deductible of 50.00$.

    It all started fine... Started my claim ok online...Paid my $40 deductible... Assurant sent my phone out the next day and had it sent overnight...Then snowmageddon 2021 hit...then finally after the 3rd email I finally got a response from Assurant...but only told to be patient because of the snow storm...and that's why I'm typing this on a prepaid phone from the local dollar general store. Long story short guess it's not all Assurant fault but could have been handled better in my opinion and if our 6-8 inches of snow cripples the nation's largest LTL carrier then we may be in for some major trouble.

    Updated on 03/04/2021: It took 3 weeks to get my phone that was overnighted. When I called to get assistance from you all you told me there was nothing that you could do. You took my money. You didn't try to refund me. You just told me I had to deal with FedEx like I was the one who requested FedEx.

    Original: I was charged $49 and I was promised that I would get my device within one or two business days. I have been waiting 2 weeks to receive my device. I still have not received my device.     I completed a claim request online as told my the Tmobile store representative. In the past I've been able to just go into the store to create one. However I did it online and a few days went by and I got no response. Then a few more days. Turned out they just had to verify something before they could approve my claim but didn't reach out to tell me. I had to call them. Then they shipped it overnight but it has been stuck in TN for well over a week. The Assurant claims person I spoke with just said sorry there is nothing they can do and do not have policies to help people in these situations and even if it takes a month I have to just wait. I'm beyond dissatisfied.

    Order shipped out the 15th of February. Sat at origin for 3 days before moving. Was supposed to be an overnight delivery. Glad I didn't have to pay for shipping.     You guys should consider using a different shipping company. It's been a week and a half on a package that was supposed to be overnighted. I still don't have my phone. After calling and doing a trace on the package, they never called me about, it finally says it should be here today. You guys did a great job though, just fed ex sucks.

    I still have yet to receive my replacement device and it's been over a week.     We paid deductible for overnight but with weekend and holiday it was supposed to arrive within 3 days but then bad weather hit so my package couldn't be tracked and couldn't find my claim so I had to call which they didn't help. Why I couldn't access claim on website. They kept pushing on us. So with bad weather which I guess isn't common enough for them to allow us to just go get device from dealer. So finally got phone a week later then they were going to charge another $20 to activate it! Just be aware of extra charges and no other options for replacement except where they send it from.

    It's insane it took 11 days for my device to be delivered when your company advertises that after a claim is approved the device would be delivered the next business day. I was unwilling forced to be without my device for 11 days and lost more than 1/3 of a month of service I paid for due to your company's false advertising and lack of pointiency and competence to deliver my device in a timely manner. At the least your company could of offered to refund my down payment but that wasn't even done so unless there's action on the part of your company to make this right I will openly advise everyone I interact with against using your services ever in the future.
