    Incorrect records with Assurant say we returned the replacement phone they sent us, not the damaged one. We would not be still trying to use a damaged phone that was not working and would have certainly noticed this. My carrier is now charging us for an extra phone...apparently the working one that was returned according to Assurant. The loop of incompetence with this place is incredibly frustrating.

    I was told by T-Mobile while filing claim my order would be for sure delivered the next day I placed the order. When I got the receipt it said a different date. I called to see if I could change address because I was out of town when I originally made the claim. They told me I couldn’t change the address even tho the phone hadn’t shipped. They said once the phone arrived I could send it back then have it resent. I paid 70 dollars for my sister to ship to me so I wouldn’t have to wait even longer for my phone. I think there should be a better way to change address if the phone hasn’t been shipped.

    Claim would not go in through website, very poor design. I had to call 3 times and it took 12 full days to receive my phones. Almost all agents are very limited English speaking. Most emails not sent as promised and when I finally received some intelligible service my replacement phone was not shipped EXPEDITED but via UPS GROUND. It took 6 days to get to me. The only thing you have in America is an office in Pennsylvania. You're a scam and a rip-off. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Taking people's money and give almost no service. How do you sleep at night? I am sure your mother would or is very proud of you for screwing all those people.

    Very frustrating. Gave all my information to the IVR. The IVR said it would save my answers so the CSR could start where I left off. I had to render all the same questions. Frustrating. I had to listen to the pitch to use the website 4 times before I was even allowed to interact with a person, then a computer voice had me input or answer questions. Eleven minutes later I had to answer all the same questions over. Grrrr. How is this process user friendly? Seems they want to put you in submission so you have to use the website. Very bad model. I will never get a phone plan again that utilizes Assurant.

    First of this company is complete trash. The representative do not know what the heck is going g on. They keep you on the phone for hours without solving the issues and the survivors are just as bad. I don't understand the reason for this company. Yes I canceled my service with them. I had to call for 3 weeks straight just to get my son the correct phone. They kept waiting to downgrade his phone instead of sending the correct phone.     I cracked the screen on my phone for the first time in my life. I have had phone insurance for the last 8 years and paid Assurant 100s of dollars in premiums. I sent in the damaged phone in the provided return box, sealed the phone in the included envelope and placed inside the box, sealed and personally handed the sealed box to the USPS counter person.

    My package arrived at the Assurant facility on August 23rd hand delivered by USPS (tracking confirmed hand delivery). 3 weeks later on Sept 15th, Assurant notified me that the box arrived open and unsealed with no phone inside.!!!!! After several phone calls, hours and hours of hold time, and endless conversations with a man named TRAVIS (a Supervisor) who had such a heavy accent that I could only understand a third of his words.... I was basically told that I was a liar and that I had not put my phone into the envelope that was provided with the return box. I was charged $550.00.

    A few days before I spoke with TRAVIS I contacted a VICTOR at Assurant and he told me the phone had arrived on August 23rd but they had neglected to scan the phone into the system. He had contacted the Warehouse and my phone was indeed there. He said he requested for them to scan the phone into the system and I would have to wait 48 hours for it to process and 1-2 billing cycles for the $550.00 charge to be removed from my bill. I asked him if these were any messages in my account about the phone not being scanned into the system and he said No, he also said it happens sometimes and he apologized and said it takes time to fix the error, but he would take care of it.

    Another SUPERVISOR told me to file a claim with USPS. She said That the package was insured and THAT I had to file the claim. I asked her how much the package was insured for through USPS....she would not tell me. I tried to file a claim and USPS told me the package was not insured by the purchaser of the shipping label... (Take my advice and add insurance to any returns to Assurant.) She lied to me.... and she was also a supervisor.

    Needless to say the HEAVY Accent TRAVIS denied the phone ever existed and that they don't make mistakes, even if the package sat in their warehouse for over three weeks before it was determined that the phone was missing. TRAVIS said the box arrived OPEN and unsealed with no phone inside. I asked TRAVIS if it was normal to accept a package that was OPEN at time of delivery....TRAVIS could not answer the question.... Hmmmm. Sounds like they have trouble within their warehouse... I am still charged the $550.00 and TRAVIS is a typical foreign accented "Supervisor" handling a problem remotely and doesn't know or doesn't care about what happens in their warehouse or to their customers. Extremely frustrated and hating Assurant.... Absolutely no customer service or accountability within their organization. AVOID THEM at all COSTS!!

    I'm a bit frustrated 'cause I file a claim for my new item that was lost but until now it is under review. They asked me to provide the proof of purchase and since that this device was ordered thru phone/Sales hotline of T mob, I was only given Serv Agreement and also provided the screenshot there. They wanted the detailed one wherein there are infos for date, imei, device and many more. But I can only send the details that tmob provided but still Assurant don't want to accept it and want the physical receipt. So until now my application is for review. Bottom line, buy your unit somewhere else and not on T-mobile with Assurant as their affiliate.

    This is my second replacement phone. I got one about 1 yr ago and it would freeze. This one restarts on its own. I call to inform and they act like it's my fault that they are sending out garbage. Now I have to send it back be without a phone again until I figure out what I'm doing.     The claim I put in for was for replacement. The one that was sent to me was a gold rose color. After talking with Assurant they informed me that they don't guarantee exact color and have the right to send what they have in the warehouse. That is not acceptable to me.     I know you have to replace my phone with similar phone if you have it but you have sent me a phone that is totally different. The key part of having a note is that it is a Note. You place it with a newer Phone, but it has no note feature and no one knows if it is compatible. What happens to all my notes, documents drawings. Very disappointed, it would have been cheaper for you to just fix the cracked screen. I sent back the phone unopened. It does not help me.

    I’ve been paying for insurance on my phone for over a year and the screen broke. I processed a claim, paid $100, and they decided to send me an old LG phone. Why was I paying a premium insurance plan for my Google phone when they don’t even have any in stock! You're better off not paying insurance and just buying a used phone off Amazon. (18 months * $18 insurance) = $324 + $100 = $424. Or if your screen breaks go to your local mall and you’ll just pay $50 for a new screen.

    A form was filled out at US Cellular so it was assumed that the replacement was in process. That was not the case. A form had to be filled out again in order for the claim to be processed, so filling out the form at US Cellular was pointless. The same information was provided on both forms. Not sure why the information provided at US Cellular was not sufficient. I was without a phone for 1 week, which is ridiculous. The process needs to be more streamlined in the technology age that we are in.

    I had a Note 9 the screen broke on. Simple enough, right. No. Your company wanted me to drive an hour away to have it fixed (nearest place). I opted for a replacement. Sent me an inferior phone. Your company said you could do nothing about it as the phone I received was the recommended replacement. I pulled up all the information, did your job, what I have paid you to do for a very long time, and was very clear about what the replacement phone should be if you could not get my exact style of phone. You would not budge.

    I have been a US Cellular customer for well over 25 years. I have carried this insurance company the entire time they have been around for phones. I am sorry to say I am less than pleased, rather irritated actually. Waste of 45 minutes of my life while on the phone trying to figure this out. I now have dropped this insurance company and will continue to spread the word of the poor service. Nickel and dime kind of place. You cut corners I assume to expand your top end gain.     Thank you for giving me this opportunity for feedback. My son started the claim and I completed the claim. He spent 3 hours on the phone starting with Assurant and they would send him to T-Mobile to get information. Back and forth, back and forth. He had to make several calls as he thought he could handle this during his lunch break. After being told that the claim was denied. I went into a T-Mobile store and their suggestion was to ask for a supervisor. I called, and a nine call, two day, 3.5 hour journey was my outcome..     I will never refer Assurant. When I purchase my new iPhone, I will choose AppleCare. I have been pay for Assurant for many, many, many years. I have made claims with Assurant insurance several times. I believe I've only had one claim that I wasn't on the phone for several hours. But this last claim was the last straw. I still can't talk about it without feeling like I have PTSD.

    The phone that was received had a screen cover that was too small for the phone. We didn't receive this until one week after when the corner chipped where it wasn't covered.     First of all, item was stolen. I call it in and get a police report prior to contacting you guys and even being fully prepared, I went through hell and back between you and Xfinity mobile.     I was pleased when I finally got my phone And was able to get it updated to include all my contacts. But. But only a week or so later the phone started acting up and I lost some of my apps.. I now have to replace the new phone. This causes me extreme anxiety because I'm disabled and I have no other way to contact people.. When my phone failed this morning I was in a panic. By America I was able to reach my sister who was able to take me to the T-Mobile store and they were able to make the phone function at least temporarily. Well I await another phone phone. I needed more time because I don't drive and could not readily get to a T-Mobile store. My son ended up having to take A-day off of work with no pay to get me to the store on time to be able to return the phone.. Your so called service is extremely impersonal.

    Ok I first went online to file my claim as I was instructed to do so, and for an entire week my claim information along with my payment info also just sat there untouched. After that entire week passes I had to call into the phone lines to get the claim moving and after difficulties with about 3 different associates, who had made my life very unhappy at that point, and had even been hung up on twice. But eventually I got matched with a knowledgeable associate who was super helpful and got my claim moving and processed in less than 15 minutes. And I received my phone the next day. But I am really thinking hard about discontinuing my headset protecting by just eliminating that part of my monthly bill as the process was too complicated, I haven't decided if I want to keep or drop it yet.

    First off I needed help getting my data out of my old phone. With that to send phone back within 10 days is unreasonable especially when it's broken beyond repair. I needed to get my pictures out of my broken phone. The retail stores were not helpful at all. It turned out to be a large expense to get my pictures. I know the insurance is third party and nothing to do with the t-mobile franchises but still a burden on the customer. Also I tried to restart my new phone the other day & it gave me a weird screen stating to recover t-mobile system. Which is strange like I was given a refurbished galaxy s20 FE instead of a brand new phone. Isn't that why we pay extra for insurance?

    My insured phone package was shipped with no request for signature delivery which is majorly negligent on your company’s end.. and was immediately stolen upon being delivered to the general mailroom at my apartment complex within 5 minutes of arriving. After being passed around on customer service for hours, and finally being connected with a “supervisor” who was unable to do anything helpful and fix the situation at hand, I am still without a phone provided from Assurant. I was told I had to wait 10-14 business days to even get the claim acknowledged. I resorted to buying a phone on offer up to tie me over until a new one arrives almost a month later. Horrible customer service considering they did not offer to refund my deductible paid, or any sort of alternative phone to tie me over until the claim is processed. I am extremely reliant on a phone for my work, and a two week wait period for a mistake that was not my fault is absurd.

    My package was lost in the mail by UPS. UPS accepted the lost claim and contacted Assurant on 9/14. I called Assurant to ensure everything was being progressed properly. After not hearing back for some days, I called back on the 20th. That agent was incredibly rude, but said he'd follow up with the situation & that it was being investigated. I called back on the 22nd, to find out that Assurant had lied and not really started the investigation. I'm out $100 dollars and I'm still not receiving a response from Assurant. You are scammers and are committing fraud. I am so disappointed as T-Mobile customer for 30+ years.

    Updated on 10/06/2021: A few days ago (Oct 1st) I submitted a one-star review of Assurant after not being helped to my satisfaction during an initial phone call with them explaining that my replacement device had stopped working. I was contacted by Nathan from Assurant the next day after my review and couldn't have asked for better treatment and concern about my dilemma. Nathan promptly arranged for Assurant to send me a replacement phone for my Samsung A32 5G, however, what I received was the Samsung A51 most likely due to there not being an A32 5G available.

    The Samsung A51 is in many aspects a better phone and definitely an upgrade, except in the most critical category for me, which is battery life. For the past 3 years I've purchased nothing short of 5000 mAh battery phones as they can go well past two whole days, and in some instances up to three, without a recharge - with moderate use. The A51 has a battery capacity of 4500 mah, which shouldn't have been a discernible difference, however with this particular phone I received the battery depleted extraordinarily quickly. I don't know if it's an issue with all A51s or just a particular bug with my replacement phone but I did notice many purchasers have left reviews on various sites complaining about the battery's life.

    I privately messaged Assurant from this website last night (Oct 4th) concerning my dissatisfaction with the A51 replacement phone's battery life and that I expected and wanted a similar A32 5G as the original that I purchased. Today (Oct 5th) around 11:00 a.m., I called Nathan explaining my dissatisfaction with the battery life of the phone and also explaining that I was expecting and wanted the A32 5G as I already had cases, screen protectors, and a fast charging charger for that specific phone. He listened attentively to my concerns and empathized with my plight expressing that he would communicate this matter with other personnel and attempt to rectify the situation.

    Less than 7 hours later at 5:30 p.m. I received a call from Nathan wherein he informed me that he had procured a brand new Samsung A32 5G. In addition, I received an email from Assurant saying the device had been shipped and on its way. I am so very fortunate that Nathan was assigned to my case as I cannot imagine there being a more helpful, caring and considerate person. Hopefully this will be the close of the matter. As of this writing I give five stars to Assurant and would definitely recommend them to friends, family and strangers alike.

    Original Review: I purchased Metro by T-Mobile phone service in late July receiving a free Samsung A32 5G device for switching from another carrier. In the promotion, insurance was required for at least the first month. Normally, I don't purchase insurance for my phones because I usually buy budget phones which are less expensive to replace versus paying premiums which over the course of 8-9 months cost more than the price of the device, also I rarely break or damage my phones.

    I'm glad that I was required to purchase the insurance because I needed it after getting caught in a severe sudden thunderstorm and my phone got drenched. I filed a claim with Assurant and received a replacement device which didn't have any noticeable defects or blemishes and worked splendidly until September 24th, about 7 weeks after receiving it. I did not renew my handset protection after the required first month for the reasons I stated earlier in addition to knowing that there is a warranty which covers the replacement device.

    On September 29th, I called and spoke with a Metro by T-Mobile rep explaining my replacement phone wasn't powering on and was forwarded to Assurant. The Assurant rep inquired as to if the phone had been dropped or suffered water damage to which I replied that the phone wasn't dropped and that the LDI (liquid damage indicator) strip located in the SIM card slot showed no liquid damage as the strip was white and not discolored.

    I was asked the IMEI number of the device and after providing it was told that they could not find it in their system. They do acknowledge fulfilling the original claim and shipping the replacement device - but yet claim they can't verify or find the IMEI number of the device that they shipped to me and that I've been using for 7 weeks? Mysteriously when I went to the website to download my coverage documents, they were unavailable for downloading. I was told that a specialist would reach out to me via phone call in addition to an email within 2 days. However when I revisited the website it says that the case was closed. Today will be the second day so we'll see what happens.

    Everything went wrong from beginning to end. All six customer service people kept referring me to the website to complete transaction and check status. The website does/did not work at the time of our claim. Had to re-enter info every time and it would not take cc info for deductible. Had to call in and verbally give cc info to process claim. Said they'd process in 24 to 48 hours and check website for update and shipping info. That didn't happen, that was another two calls for someone to figure out. By the way these calls take at least 27 minutes per representative. The customer service people were nice but seemed a little brainwashed at pushing the website. Oh by the way still had to pay deductible to get the phone after about 6 hours on the phone and a bunch of stress.

    The guy processed in my claim said he was gonna send an S21 when I actually received an S20. I waited on hold with T-Mobile for an hour and 45 minutes then was transferred to Assurant. Waited on hold with them for a 1/2 an hour Then explaining that it wasn't an accident. My phone screen just cracked on its own while I was watching it. They transferred me back to T T-Mobile and T-Mobile said they couldn't process it or they'd have to charge me $300 so they put me back to Assurant. The whole ordeal took almost 4 hours Because of getting jerked back-and-forth between the 2. I have 5 phones for my business and I will be changing my Carrier just because of this experience.

    I dropped my phone and the back of it cracked in numerous places. When I called and then was routed to fill out my warranty request by computer, I was granted a replacement phone. But then I could not find out when it was arriving. When I called to find out when my replacement item was being shipped to me I was told that they did not know because it was on back order. But I had been at a phone store a couple days before and they had the same phone there, available, so I knew that the back order story was untrue.

    I complained loudly so you guys cancelled my first order & then started a new one. I waited a few days and still did not have my replacement, nor could I find out any tracking information. So I called. While I was pushing the various buttons to get the the proper person to talk to, the recording said my phone had been shipped. So when I finally was able to talk with a live person, she said the phone had not been shipped and they did not know when it would be sent out. Once again I complained very loudly and threatened to take my business elsewhere (as if you would care anyway). So she cancelled my 2nd order and started a 3rd one with the promise that my phone would be shipped out the next business day, which was a Monday.

    On Monday I received a replacement phone! Nice!! On Tuesday I received a 2nd replacement phone! What??? So now I had one broken phone to return and 2 new phones. So I had to go through a bunch of hoops to have a shipping label sent to me so I can return the 2nd replacement phone and not get charged for it. What a mess. If there was a different insurance company for these cell phones I would use them. You guys are terrible, unorganized, and obviously no one knows what anyone else is doing. Thanks for wasting hours of my time.
