    I have had to use Assurant several times and not once have had a single issue. I've always received a new or refurbished but I couldn't tell version of my same phone I needed replaced and this last time I even received a new phone that was the upgraded model of my lost one (Moto 5g stylus to replace my 4g stylus).     When my cell phone was lost, I was pleased with the extended customer service hours because I needed expedited service to file a claim and receive a replacement, as I was leaving for out of town. The rep was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The replacement arrived in less than two days. The instructions on how to restore my replacement was easy to understand and all I needed to do after I did most of the restore is speak with a TMobile rep to activate my Sim card over the phone. Within three days I was up and running again. Assurant is a very good insurance company with reasonable monthly coverage and only a $10 deductible. I have had to replace my cell, three times within the past two in a half years, it really helps to have a professional, and thorough insurance company that has my back, and little downtime is what I really appreciate.

    Having maintained insurance on an iPhone 8 for several years, as it was a business line, the phone was stolen. Contacting T-mobile and eventually Assurant, I was told that it would be a $249 deductible. This was appalling! An iPhone 8 goes for $249 on the open market. Apparently, the company makes no distinction for models and age. It seems they apply a sufficient deductible to deflect people with older phones, even when having these by choice, from applying a loss claim (stolen). It was a complete waste of money and I will absolutely cancel any insurance with them. A complete and utter scam.

    The selling point by the retailer, T-mobile, was they will replace your phone if stolen/lost. They should conspicuously post what their deductibles are not what the supposed benefits are. Looking for another carrier at this point, too. Carrier never mentioned this at the store when we had to buy a new phone in a hurry since this phone affected our business and couldn't be down the number of days that it would take for Assurant to fill claim. Worse, we had to call them after 3 weeks to get all the good news. Way to go Assurant! Claim was filed on 12/22/21.

    After several attempt to contact Assurant last night, I finally got two nice ladies that work for T-Mobile, Mary and Anne who got my phone unblocked for me. Again, this was T-Mobile, NOT Assurant that resolved the matter for me. I spent a couple of hours trying to connect to Assurant and kept getting hung up on after long waits, until my last and final call resulted in a transfer to T-Mobile, who got the Assurant block removed from my old phone. Subsequently, I purchased an upgrade to the phone, WITHOUT the Assurant insurance. I will never do business with that company again. It would have been much less expensive in the long run, to just purchase a newer phone in the first place, compared with all the money I spent over the years paying Assurant, then being charged a $249 deductible for a refurbished, outdated phone.

    I filed a claim with Assurant for a lost phone Motorola G(7) Power, which was about 3 years old. I had paid $14 a month for nearly 36 months. When I filed for a replacement phone they charged me a deductible of $249.99 which I paid with my debit card. Three days later I found the phone and sent them an email to cancel delivery. The next day after I received the package from them, I immediately returned it via UPS within an hour of receipt last Saturday. I then called Assurant to attempt to get my original phone unblocked. The technician rudely informed me that they would not unblock it until two or three business days after they got the phone back.

    I use this phone for business and have already been without its use for week. I have tried to call Assurant after work and they either auto hang up or transfer me back to T Mobile. So frustrating and unprofessional. By the way a brand new Motorola phone for exact replacement is only $199.99 with free shipping from Motorola. A Refurbished unit can be had for a little over $100. Where does Assurant get off charging $249.99 deductible?! I consider this to be insurance fraud wouldn't you?

    Returned my phone back in September, called in October and was assured that it was received and all was well. Now it's January and I'm being charged almost $1,000 for that BROKEN phone in which the warehouse is now claiming was never received. That I had sent in an empty envelope.     My wife who is currently in USA had her phone stolen on a trip to Sri Lanka. T-Mobile in-house assurance provider, Assurant gave a great service on getting her the replacement phone within 2-3 days! But here's the thing, the phone keeps shutting down constantly. It's not a new phone but a refurbished one with which we are totally fine as long as it's working. I live on the opposite side of the planet and her phone is the only source of communication I have and because of the company's neglect we've been having issues internally. I couldn't get back to my wife on many occasions to convey important messages like 'I love you' or 'hows the baby doing?' or other professional matters.

    My wife stayed on the line with T-Mobile in-house assurance provider, Assurant for over 2 hours at a stretch being shuffled between 3 insurance reps and a T-Mobile rep until finally the Senior Assurant rep just hung up on her! We just want a phone that actually works. Please do good by your people. The people that chose you over other service providers!

    I filed a claim on November 11th 2021, I received my replacement device super fast and everything was great...until I couldn't activate it. Took it into Tmobile and they said I needed a 4gld phone. Called Assurant and let them know this information, sent the phone back and after weeks of it being "lost in transit" they were finally able to send me another replacement phone. I go to activate that phone and the exact same thing happens, it can't be activated. I call assurant AGAIN and let them know the same information I had told them before. I send my second replacement phone back and hadn't heard anything about the package so I call assurant yet again. The phone had been delivered for over a week and no one had sent me a new phone. So now here I am waiting for my third replacement device that, fingers crossed, will work. I have now been without a phone for 2 months and am still waiting for a replacement device that works.

    When filing a claim was easy. Once approved the replacement device was delivered the next business day. But, waiting for the approval was some time. The deductible fine must be paid. To improve the service. In some cases the insurance deductibles should be waived. My Metro phone from T-Mobile. I purchased insurance and I damaged my device and had to file an insurance claim. The phone fell down two story stairs and was cracked.

    The company rep that worked with me after I made a complaint said it was denied because I made a clerical error and submitted correct date on a different claim and that's why they denied it. It took approximately 3 weeks to get a answer after the review. The agent that was working with me finally was able to get this done. She worked hard but still disappointed at the company itself on them not able to give me a answer on why a denial and the fact of a denial due to a small error that was corrected. I won't call it a rip off but will state it really has to work on customer service and claims. Should of never got this far for me to get help. Thank you to the agent who helped me.

    My son's iPhone 12 had accidental damage and we filed a claim to get the screen replaced. Because of the damaged screen, my son was not able to use the phone and since he goes to school, he had to put the sim card in my secondary phone (Samsung) and started using that. Now, Assurant declines the claim saying the phone on the date of damage shows as Samsung and not IPhone. I keep telling them that we had to change the SIM card into another phone because my son needed a temporary phone. Neither T-Mobile (provider) nor Assurant guided us about this correctly and now the claim is not approved. Not sure why I am paying this insurance premium when these kinds of things are made so difficult for customers. It takes 1-2 hours everytime when I have to call Assurant or T-Mobile and I am now losing hope that they can solve this in a logical manner.

    Instead of all this, why cannot they just see the actual damaged phone and then process the claim? Very unfair practice. If we had known that the SIM card should still be in the same phone when we file a claim, we would have done the same but we did not receive proper guidance about this whole thing. Utterly disappointed with Assurant and TMObile.

    Assurant sent me to A T-Moble store in Margate Florida to Fix my phone. The T-moble store did a great job of fixing the phone. Made it look like new. The only let down is the cost of Assurant phone insurance is so expensive that by the end of the year I will have paid enough to buy to replacement phone and they charge a deductible of $100.00 dollars to replace your phone if need be. So you see it really is not a good value. You're better off educating yourself on local phone repair services and save your hard earned money.

    I have used Assurant Phone Insurance through T-Mobile for several years without any issues. I recently placed a claim due to a missing device and received my replacement device on yesterday. Today I realized the replacement phone's battery is defective (it will not hold a charge). I was told that the only way I could get a replacement device was to send the defective device back, first! This means I will now be without a phone during the holidays. I spoke to a representative and the floor manager without any suggestions, success, or support.

    I should not be punished and have to go through the holidays without a phone due to the company's negligence of sending me a defective device! This policy needs to changed as it does not benefit the consumers of the company. There are several companies that allow an exchange of merchandise that does not punish its customers for example, Amazon. That company allows you exchange your purchase and then return the defective merchandise and if the return item is not received they will then charge you for both purchases. Assurant needs to address this policy as it heavy impacts its customers in a negative manner.

    Sent back broken phone, tracking stated received by Assurant on August 20th. My bill with T-Mobile showed the cost of the phone added in September. Called Assurant and they stated the phone just wasn't scanned in yet and it would be taken care of. T-Mobile put that part of my billing on hold. October rolls around T-Mobile still showing $595 charge, called Assurant again, same story "Phone just wasn't scanned in, we will search for it and remove from bill". Talked with T-Mobile and they put that part of my bill on hold again. Mid-November now, same story and same outcome with both Assurant and T-Mobile.

    Now it's December -- T-Mobile states that my account was updated by Assurant that they do not have the phone. I called Assurant and now they are saying that the package was ripped open and the phone was not in the package when it was received and it was my responsibility to pay for it even though it was in the package when I sent it.

    I think it is very odd that it would take a company three months to update their records to show a package was received damaged/contents stolen. This company is shady! I have paid $19 a month for 26 months (plus 19 a month for my husband's), then the $199 replacement fee and now I am stuck paying the $595 fee for the 'non-return fee', even though I have tracking that shows the phone was returned. That is over $1700 I have paid to this scam company. I have since removed insurance from ALL 6 lines that I have. I will guarantee they will never get another dime of my money!

    So I filed a new claim (never filed a claim on this line and have been paying for the insurance for years). They place the claim "under review" and three days later still nothing. So I call and get them on the phone and the first lady literally tells me nothing but call back in a few days. I said, "No. I'm on the phone now and I want to know why my phone is not being sent out. I would like to speak with a manager." So the woman sends me to the T-MOBILE customer service rep not the manager. So the T-Mobile rep tells me that he can see why they won't send it and it's due to the fact that there is no more Note 20 Ultras and so Assurant was trying to buy time. He told me to ask them about it and sent me back to Assurant.

    So Assurant tells me some nonsense about no they have the phones but there was an ID issue. Obviously I was on the phone and can answer anything to let them know who I am so that was a nonsense excuse but either way here it is three days in and Assurant still can't tell me when I will get a phone not why they can't send one. Obviously the TMobile rep gave me the answer but Assurant is lying about it due to the fact they would have to either upgrade or replace with like in kind which there is not one close to it aside from the fold. Assurant is not an honest company. I am going to switch to iPhone I guess and keep Apple Care to not have to deal with this scam of a company from now on.

    I am very dissatisfied with T-Mobile's Assurant service and I am making my experience available all over the internet. In November they billed me $396 for a damaged phone that they claimed I had not returned and today, 12-9-21, denied my request for reimbursement. This was despite my documentation of my initial call September 20 where a customer service rep assured me that my phone had been received but simply "had not been scanned in by the warehouse". I was never apprised of any further problems in the matter before they debit from my account. I used the mailer that was included with my replacement phone and followed all the protocols. DO NOT BELIEVE THE NEAR 5-STAR REVIEW THAT ASSURANT POSTS ON ITS WEBSITE. The customer service reps are fine, it's their process that is horrible.

    I have been paying insurance forever on Sprint (now T-Mobile) and I lost my phone in South America. The claim was approved immediately then....they never send the phone.. I have called multiple times.. They always promise me that in 24 hours they either will send the phone or that they will process the shipment and has been already too long.. The last rep I was chatting with, (Sergio), just hang up on me. They don't seem to be able to get the phone, they have back orders, they don't offer me a different device, they won't give me the chance to upgrade or money to buy one myself... They do not seem to understand that I need a phone... They don't care in the least...

    Paying for this insurance is the worst mistake I ever made.. They will not care about your need and they will not honor their side of the contract unless it is very easy for them.. I am realizing that I can buy a used similar phone for slightly more than the deductible I paid to Assurant and...the monthly payment is just gone in nothingness, in learning about scam by a corporation that can legally play with your time and needs and they won't care. Better do your research. Nowadays used phones are cheap and the time you are without phone cost you money too and Assurant does not care.

    Returned phone through usps mail. They recived package in late August from USPS. Send out paperwork wasn't received in august. September I call them 1st time they say they haven't scanned package yet. Give them a few days. I get phone call from them saying, "Don't worry we will find your phone. You won't be charged or liable." Beginning of November me and T-Mobile agent call together. They start another investigation. Time runs up. I get no response.

    Call them again end of November and have to do another investigation. I call back same day to say I have filed a claim with usps speaking to a lady. She tells me all the info they have... they finally found package back in the start of November later the day I called and said warehouse found my package and it was empty. So they didn't scan package for over 75 days before they realized package was empty. Have made 3 separate calls to these people and after more digging and talking to them you get more answers that are upsetting in a case. Seems like maybe I'm not the only one this is happening to.

I called customer service and after providing information they told me the phone was dead upon arrival and would need to send it back.     When speaking on the phone I had to keep asking the person that it was hard to hear and they had a accent that was hard to understand. The question they asked was not clear. The claim was denied based on the question asked, which was confusing. Since the worth of the phone was minimal I will buy another phone hone and throw it away. I am considering changing carrier sometime soon and removing this protection plan. I will buy the Apple care instead.

    I have 2 year insurance contract with T-Mobile Assurant. Phone was stolen from car, I have police report. I don't have time to sue them, it's unprofitable for me pay layers and courts it's will be more expensive than iPhone price. This is a message which I received from them after my claim: "We were unable to approve your claim. After a thorough investigation of your claim for a lost Apple iPhone 12 Pro 128GB Graphite, we’ve come to the conclusion that the reported loss is not covered by your Protection360* program. Under the provision Insured Property, your claim was not covered." Here’s why: The device claimed was not insured on the date of loss. This DISHONEST company still charging me for insurance. I think better to have insurance from manufacturer than someone else who thinks just for profit and don't care customers.

    My phone was lost at a concert, I believe it was pick-pocketed at some point. I called in on Sunday, was told it would be here Monday. When I saw it hadn't shipped yet, I called back and was told I would have it in 2 business days. They also have it marked as damaged when I clearly stated it was lost/stolen. They need to have a better relationship with the companies they cover so that people can go to a local store to pick up a phone same day. Insurance costs enough, and then you add the deductible, and there is no reason we should have to wait to get our replacements.

    We received the replacement phone but it is defective. When you plug it into the charger it says that it can't charge because it is wet. The phone has not been near water or been submerged. Replacement phones should be fairly new used devices not refurbished ones. Now if I want to replace it, I have to pay again. Not fair to the consumer.

    I am disappointed in the coverage I pay for month to ensure I am insured. The fact that I pay over $10 a month and still have to pay $250 for a replacement phone is atrocious! I pay $120 a year and when I am carjacked, kidnapped, robbed and assaulted I was told by a representative that I still have to pay the $250 for a replacement phone because I do not have one for trade. Not only was I robbed by a complete stranger but I felt robbed by this company! At least offer a free replacement with a copy of a police report considering my phone was stolen. Not lost, not missing, but stolen in a very violent manner. Shame on this company for taking advantage of someone who's already been through hell and back just to make a profit. It's not customer service. It's corporation corruption!

    The replacement phone sent to me from Assurant was a used phone that had horrible 1 way audio. Nobody could hear me when I made calls from my regular locations. I called my phone company and they told me to contact Assurant. I feel that after I paid the monthly insurance fee every month for years and then I had to pay a #125 deductible. Then they send me a used phone that Assurant didn't even check to see if it worked. I will NEVER pay for Assurant insurance again. Expensive insurance and ZERO quality control.     Filed a claim on 10/16 and as of today 10/25 still no phone. I've talked to 13 people including 4 managers and I've gotten 13 different responses...even hung up on once. Going on vacation celebrating my 19th year wedding anniversary and will NOT be able to take good pictures with my phone as I don't have it. I was told several time I will have my phone next day, next day is still not here. I was just being told something to be pushed off the phone....I also was told about the website times, well it was useless because it told me nothing.

    Then I finally got someone on the phone that took their job seriously. I was informed 2 days ago that my phone is on backorder and there is no ETA on when I will receive a phone. This is very disappointing as I paid my deductible and I just want my replacement device. There seems to be a gap in this process that can pose only a risk to the consumer.

    Thanks to the due diligence obviously of the employees of the company I waited well over a decent amount of time (2weeks) just to get approved on my claim. It was after around 2 weeks of just waiting that I was informed I was still waiting for the claim to even get approved, having to call into my provider to check up on the status as to why I had yet to receive a replacement, or update after putting in the claim online. It then took another week to mail out my replacement device, that still never got delivered to my address for reasons that it was undeliverable? So I had to find a UPS to pick up my replacement device after having to track the package due to the delay of receiving it in the first place. But, was I informed on any of the events happening or updated on any current status at all? NOPE! Of course not.

    Then thank goodness I was able to barely make the deadline to return the device before I got charged the hundred whatever dollars because there's a return time policy... Y'all's return process policy that essentially gives the customer a week or so to return the damaged device back with the provided prepaid envelope that comes with the replacement (which is actually nice so thank you for that at least) But there's already a predicted date setup for an estimated arrival for the return.... So even though I had to wait an entire month for y'all to approve and send the replacement device to me that I had to track down to pick up so that I was even able to do that, there was a date I was supposed to have it back by already... ? Mind you, that this was on a claim that I had to file about a week or so after just signing up with Metro as a new customer and porting my number over... I just paid for service and had barely used it a week!!!

    The phone then decided it was just gonna go to ** on me, so I had no phone no service for well next to a good month about that I had already paid for --- The service and device and insurance.--- I had it for a WEEK... That's all, and so by the time I actually finally did receive my replacement device, guess what? Yep you guessed it, the following day my service was suspended because my bill was due. So I paid for an entire month of service I never got to use and then in less than a week had to pay for another device after just purchasing one on a deductible for an insurance claim that was actually a manufacturer defect and should have been handled as such and not cost me a dime.

    But, because the manufacturer defect caused the screen to crack due to the device overheating and frying itself dead with no way to recover, I had to go through the insurance process and now pay a deductible on another phone for again something that wasn't even my fault. So all together now I've basically had to pay twice for a phone and service, minus a month of actual use of either of those things and I was not the cause or reason for any of it but I sure had to pay for it as well as go an entire month without any mobile service to use of my own, borrowing others where I could and missing a very much needed service that I ALREADY PAID FOR! without any compensation for my loss or time or anything really from any of the companies involved to include metro PCS, TMobile, Assurant claims services, and mostly and the most upsetting of them all, Motorola, who were actually the worst of the entirety of this trifecta to deal with.

    Getting them to own up to any of their responsibilities concerning their device and the defect that had occurred was a joke to them... And honestly, what a sad way to deal with the situation at the end of the day. Pawning the customer off on insurance and having them essentially pay twice for the same faulty product at this point without as much as an offer for a different device, say I now no longer feel safe with the one I am now without due to faulty manufacturing, let alone some sort of apology or something - anything to express their concern for their customer's safety or satisfaction....and fingers crossed this time nothing crazy happens again like it blow up in my face while I'm talking on it or whatever, cause maybe it decides it's gonna overheat again or something worse ok? Right??? Yeah great job everybody! Bravo and thanks for everyone's excellent customer service skills and obvious concern for the customer at all really.

    Customers, you know very people who keep this whole process afloat? I had hoped for a much easier smooth process concerning the factors in my case, but despite my most current experience I know not just one person is to blame so to say or is solely responsible for this poorly handled situation, I just hope for there to perhaps be a better resolve for the next person who may experience a similar unfortunate event such as myself and there be some benefit or take away from my concern on this matter. I am going to remain a customer for the time being, with faith that there will assuredly be better managed matters ahead might I happen to have any more issues arise in the future.
