Device lost. Claim filed, online and by phone, some information was not available but was necessary to complete the claim process. Such as the device serial number, had to get T-Mobile involved to obtain this information. Perhaps an app could improve efficiency in submitting a claim. This would also reduce the need for human contact through out the process.

I received a phone with a small Crack in the corner glass. I guess it's due to shipping. I'm very happy with the people I spoke to so far. My new phone was replaced on time, and in the mail as promised...thank you!

Had no issues during the phone call. They were professional and listened and was courteous. I was informed that my flip phone could not be replaced so I had to settle for a fold phone instead. I wasn't happy but it is what it is.

At first I was skeptical because I was giving a different number to call to claim a replacement and the staff who answered sounded foreigner so I was very confused. Thought it was a scam but in the end it was worth it all because my husband urgently was without a device until it was delivered.

Got product next day. Excellent service. They do what they said, and backup their product, you will have no problem with customer retainership. We put in a claim request, we were told product will arrive next day, and it did as they said. We did not miss a thing communication wise. I'm highly impressed at Assurant practices.

My experience with replacing my dad's phone was extremely satisfying. The timeline in which the Palmer city place was impeccable. It was fast. I spoke with more than one individual. Two out of the three were extremely helpful and supportive of the urgency and they did everything they possibly can to help me get my dad's phone back to him as soon as possible. However I do recommend some type of system in place for elderly or aging parents as in my dad's. He is 82 and has signs of Alzheimer's and dementia therefore he was not able to remember his password, he was not able to remember his code number and he was not able to receive a text message to the phone to help with the verification process because he lost his phone. Therefore I really do believe there should be other measures or other options in place to mitigate the problem.

When I first arrived there were about 6 people helping clients but Joslyn jumped to it and asked me what I needed. I did not have an appointment but she worked with me and helped me sooo much! I am so grateful to her! She was so professional and kind. I am in Real Estate and our business is all about customer service! I had a good experience from start to finish. Wish I could drop my old device off at a Tmobile store. That would make things easier. My replacement device was in good shape. I was really pleased with the replacement device.

Friendly customer service, phone arrived exactly when the representative said it would and the phone was exact and in perfect condition as my previous phone. I have recently been notified that since I have used insurance the one time that I no longer have insurance even though I am still paying for it on my phone bill which does not make me happy at all so since Apple Care 360 will not cover anything else on my phone according to their letter or email I will be canceling the insurance on my new phone since it’s a waste of the cost.

I was very upset that I lost my table and when I called the insurance company, they were sympathetic to my loss along with being very professional when completing my claim. My replacement tablet was shipped immediately, absolutely no complaints.

I didn't want to give out my S.S. number to buy this phone, I already had a credit card on file with Spectrum. I offered to pay cash for the phone at the Spectrum store but they said I couldn't pay for it with cash. I just bought a new car two years ago and they didn't have a problem with cash.

The process was stress free and very timely, as the claim was processed online which made the experience very simple. Less time consuming. The replacement came in approximately was 2 days tops. I broke the camera on my Galaxy S10+ so I contacted Assurant for a replacement phone. My claim was easy to file online, it was approved immediately, and I received my replacement phone the next evening. Assurant provided me with clear instructions, a prepaid envelope to return the broken phone, and within a few days I was notified that my old phone had been received and my claim is now complete. I couldn't ask for better and faster service!

Supposedly the phone was returned to sender, however, no phone call, notification, or refund has been provided to date. This is initially being prolonged with numerous of phone calls to Assurant's "customer service" and empty promises of a supervisor to call me back. Been months and still unresolved. Paying for a phone and service line I have not been able to use. Have I been scammed?

Great service. Looked at my device felt, I was due a replacement gave me a new device of my choice on the spot. Then gave me container to send broke device back to T-Mobile and transferred all my information from my old device to my new device.

Not sure where to start purchasing the T-Mobile protection plan, went into the local T-Mobile store to file a claim because the phone was not working after spending an hour with Assurant on the phone provided with all the details, the claim was denied. The reason why it was denied they are unable to provide the legitimate reason for the denial, just Horrible!! What a waste of time going and back & forth.

My teenage daughter is notorious for dropping her phone and cracking the screen, so having the insurance on it through Assurant is definitely a no brainer for me. I had to file a claim and actually received a whole new phone within three days, which is amazing for how rural it is where we live. I only had to pay the deductible. My daughter is a very happy camper again.

Everyone I talked to over the course of two weeks tried everything they could to deny the claim. Each time logic and reason was presented the representative would say "Ok, we can submit this and see what happens" only to have it denied again with no documentation on why. Even after it was finally approved and shipped, it was denied again. After reviewing how much time and energy I spent, I'll never buy their insurance again and just buy a new one next time.

I was not given the choice how I wanted my refund. They take it and apply it to the bill or your phone if you still have a balance - not fair. I need my money. I am already paying for the phone. Don't take what is mine.

I paid my 249 deductible, phone never received.. Lost as there was no signature required. I have spent 2 weeks going in circles with them and still have no phone. Unfortunately, there is a language barrier. It literally took 3 calls and 4 days to get the investigation opened. If you don't call and follow up, you will be waiting and waiting with no results. I have never been more frustrated in my life. UPS approved the claim and sent them money and I STILL HAVE NO PHONE.

My phone was damaged severely in an accident and I needed a replacement as soon as possible. I received my replacement phone three business days later and was hoping that it would be a new one not another refurbished one. I was not able to transfer any of my information due to the phone's damage. The screen was not viewable. The liquid plasma was hindering my view to access certain programs I had as well as fear of getting glass in my fingers.

Jesus is the person who did the repair. Joe brought my phone to me. He was also very friendly. He told me to come back to their office if there was any issues with the phone. Need to stress backing up all info so that getting info back on phone or whatever is made easily. I had a phone replaced since I lost it. Thankfully I knew to backup all apps and info on OneDrive and Google but not everyone knows this.

My husband's car was broken into on 4/1/2022 and my purse was stolen with my cellphone in it unfortunately. I have been a T-Mobile customer for OVER 10 years...I called Assurant on Sunday to order a new phone because I was just at a Mindspace to deal with this part of the tragic situation. To my dismay, it went as HORRIBLE as our car being stolen.. They hung up on me twice, had my address wrong, had me call T-Mobile to change it, then tell me that it takes HOURS to update and then STILL hung up on me AGAIN but time ON PURPOSE...This all took 2 hours.
SOOO, what do I do, say, "no worries, I'll just order me a phone online when I get home"...Well guess what? The HORRIBLE customer representative name STACY had the AUDACITY to place my cellphone order status "claim being reviewed" SOO now I have to wait another 24-48 hours to get an answer on whether they will approve a claim on insurance that I pay $400/mo. EVERY MONTH FOR 10 YEARS FOR 4 PHONES & 2 WATCHES THAT I PAY FOR!!! It's amazing how someone who make $15/hr. can decide my fate and make a horrific tragedy WORSE...Thanks ASSURANT..THIS IS WHAT TODAY'S CUSTOMER SERVICE LOOK LIKE!!

This process took all St 7 weeks or more. T-Mobile dropped the ball first then your co then I dropped the ball. Finally I received my replacement Nord 200. Thank you. I'm wondering the deductible was really high. Would you consider refunding the deductible. Thank you. Andrew

Lost cell and replace it. I make a claim for my lost cell phone and the insurance replace it for me. I’m so happy. It was not difficult to make the claim and the response was fast I really have with the service. They shipped to my house fast.

The Assurant protection plan works out great for me. So glad I have it, had to use it twice. First time the phone was cracked on the front and back, a new one was mailed to me, I mailed the old one back. They made mailing it back super easy too. Second time the screen was cracked in the front only so this meant it could be repaired at a local T-Mobile store that had a repair technician on site.

Associate was rude and non helpful had to go into the store and have them call to get my phone replaced. They discontinued my phone, gave me the runaround for 6 months. Finally got the store to take care of it.

Handset protection should be a bit cheaper considering the fact that there is a monthly recurring fee I am paying for the PHP in the first place. Maybe drop the deductible down by 20-50 dollars depending on what type of device it is exactly. Other than that, everything else seems to be just right.

I was able to get a replacement phone and not have to worry about buying a new one because I could not afford to do so at this time. I went online and reported my screen cracked. They did not have a repair location nearby that had the parts needed so they overnighted a replacement phone. I had 10 days to return my old phone with the packaging and free return label they provided. I was extremely happy with this process. I received an email from USPS saying it was delivered when they received on their end. I would recommend purchasing if you have a fairly expensive phone.

The staff member who was in charge, a tall young man, smiled at me as I walked through the door and greeted me. He took my phone and was extremely friendly and assured me the new face on the phone would be done shortly and be an easy job. His smile and confidence was assuring and I trusted him immediately. Long story short. Had a good experience up until today. Original claim went well. The phone was returned because it was defective. Tracking number was given, another phone was sent to my address by FedEx. Package arrived opened with contents outside of the box but in the FedEx bag, left outside while raining. Called to let Spectrum fast claim know, they sent another FedEx label. Returned second devise. I called Last Friday "as instructed" to confirm the tracking number, etc to have a new another phone sent to me. I was told phones are scanned in 4-5 business days per their policy. I called back on the 5th business day. After going over this story 500 times and being told I haven't returned anything, to being told "oh we see it".
They confirmed they have both phones (received 2/7 and 2/10), but refuse to sent a replacement phone because it "has to be scanned in by a robot because we do not have people/ supervisors working in the warehouse". And this statement came from someone who said they were a supervisor with Spectrum fastclaim. I have now gone 2 weeks without a phone because "their robots" haven't scanned it in, during the 4-5 business day. The 4-5 business day turned into 12-15 business days.
I know I was told this robot business just to get me off the phone, but I do not see how you can confirm you have received both devices but will not release the new(refurbished) device. Not to mention the lady kept cutting me off and telling me they had no supervisor, until I told her I would wait until one became available. What she was doing was calling one, and placing me on hold and not letting me speak to one. She got caught up doing this as she would get back on the line and slip up and mention the supervisor, but would never transfer me. I stayed on the phone an hour and a half until she finally let me speak to someone else who could confirm for sure they had both devices from this month. Still no resolution on receiving the replacement device, as I have to wait on the "robot" in York, PA to scan the devices in.

I recently replaced my phone....again. This time due to theft. I've replaced this phone 7 or 8x...lost count. Never not once before has it come without every to make it functional. This time no charger, no cord, no sim tray tool. Without that charger, without that cord, this phone will NOT function as intended. I have this phone partly for the WARP charge capabilities. I could even afford to order a case this time. The oh-so-tough Gorilla Glass lasted less than 24hrs this time so here I am on a broken, partially functioning phone. And can't find a return email from Assurant letting you know I need that charger, you'd think after spending well over $1,000. that I wouldn't have to ask for it.

Assurant insurance is charging me for a phone through T-mobile that WAS returned in the packaging they provided with my phone replacement. I followed their directions to the letter on returning the old phone and now they are saying the package was received EMPTY. I am one of thousands this same issue has happened to. They are running a scam with consumers and charging for phones that were returned.

I have had insurance with this company for my phone for several years now and they are NOT worth the money you spend monthly! My daughter has an iPhone 7 which is extremely old. It got broken while at school. I called Assurant to get another. Now assurant being that the phone is no longer going to work on network should have replaced it with a new refurbished phone since now the iPhones are going to their 5g, etc. Instead they gave me the same phone!! Guess what?! I went to Sprint/T-Mobile and they told me the phone wasn’t going to work on next work anymore and I was forced to upgrade and turn that phone in. They gave me trade in value but I still had to pay out of pocket for the phone the difference. I called assurant from the store too while I was dealing with this and of course I was told I would be reimbursed my money…
Lo and behold weeks later they are now saying no I can’t get my money back because they wanted the refurbished phone! Like what?! You guys gave me a PHONE that didn’t work on network and I was forced to turn in and you also kept my deductible! For how much you spend MONTHLY with the insurance you can save that and fix your phone yourself! Now the new insurance is $18 a month. I have never had to use the insurance often so it’s a waste of money. I will be asking my card company to perform a charge back if they refuse to do the right thing, and I am now cutting off all insurance with this scam company! Giving out crap phones instead of what should be given.

We pay a monthly fee for device protection for our Google Pixel 5A phone. We filed an online claim on 2/17/22 to get a replacement device as the phone was flashing green. Claim approved on 2/17/22 and $100 deductible was charged to our credit card. Called 2/24/22 to follow up as still no replacement phone, Assurant reissued a new claim on 2/24/22. Called next day 2/25/22 and Assurant told me it was a google problem, called google, they had no information on the claim, sent me back to Assurant, spent an hour with each company saying not my problem and no resolution. Called Assurant 2/28/22 and was told it is a known issue that Assurant form has problem reaching google, a help desk ticket was issued and I was told it could be another 3 days. I requested a refund for my deductible and was told they cannot do that even though they have yet to provide a service. Feels like a scam. They have my money, yet I have no phone.

The phone was stolen while getting my prescription refilled in Walgreens Pharmacy. I reported it at once to T Mobile. I was told to pay $ 249 to replace it, so payment was done at the T Mobile store. Upon contacting Assurant the first time, they tried to charge me 2 deductibles. They then said they would need 3 business days to re-open and process my claim, then my "Brand New" device would be shipped. That part is important.
Fast forward 2 weeks (aka 10 Business days, 7 more than expected), I contact them. They guy did not care, at all, and pretty much left me with "yeah that sucks, sorry bro later." Fast forward 2 more weeks (now 20 business days), I contact them a third time. They say they've been "working hard" on my claim and haven't shipped my device, but will expedite it and it will be here soon. By this time I had gotten tired of waiting and scheduled a trade in with T-mobile, so by the time the device would arrive, I wouldn't have the original device to send back and would have to pay the $900 fee. They didn't listen when I explained this.
The device arrived, carelessly thrown in a box without shipping protection, and very obviously a used device, not new like discussed previously. Upon contacting them today I just constantly get hung up on. I've requested managers, contacted T-mobile again, and nothing. Their absolutely terrible customer service has forced me to retain a lawyer. All because they broke my phone and didn't care. I thankfully documented the entire thing.

Filed a claim with Assurant for a damaged phone. Assurant shipped the phone UPS to my PO box. UPS does not deliver to PO box's. I had to drive 30+ miles to UPS facility to pick up replacement phone. I placed the damaged phone in the same packaging that I received the new phone in and double taped the package. Assurant received the package and claims the package was empty. This package was shipped USPS per the return label that I was sent. Assurant is either dishonest about not receiving the phone or USPS employees stole the phone from the package. End of the day Assurant added $1055.00 to my T Mobile bill. Not sure how to get Assurant to remove this charge. T mobile refuses to remove it based on the contract they have with Assurant. I have been a T Mobile client for 20+ years without any late payments or other issues.

Everything went very easy. No wait time to talk with a live person. No hassle to get my lost phone replaced. The phone was delivered in 2 days. Very good service and well worth the cost. The only complaint I have is the SIM card that was sent with the phone was either incompatible with the phone or with Xfinity. After talking with Xfinity Mobile customer service, he discovered the reason the phone could not be set up was the SIM was incorrect. Xfinity sent me a new SIM. but I had to go to the Xfinity store anyway for something else. They got me the SIM and made sure the phone was set up and working. Other than that, Very satisfied with the Customer service of both Assurant and Xfinity.

I had made a prior claim with TMobile's Assurant replacement insurance a couple years back and didn't have any issues but this week I had to file another claim due to a cracked screen on my phone and this experience was unsatisfactory. 1st called Tmobile. They transferred me over to Assurant. Was hung up on. Called back and was connected to middle eastern agent who could barely speak English. That agent asked to put me on hold then hung up on me, on the 3rd call I finally got the claim filed and paid for phone. Was due to ship.
After I got off the phone I learned that my phone would not be compatible with T-Mobile's upcoming 5G network. I called back and requested that my claim be canceled. Was told I needed to return the replacement device to have my refund processed and was told I can refuse the incoming package and have it returned to shipper. The day of delivery I refused the package and ordered it returned to shipper. FedEx complied with my request and even gave me a new tracking number for the rejected Assurant package. I tracked the phone and 7 hours after it reached the shipper and signed for by an Assurant receiving employee I contacted Assurant for confirmation that they had possession of the package. I was told yes they have it but it will take 1-3 before they can scan it in and finish processing my $99 dollar refund.
So I've had a previous claim. I returned the damaged device and remember Assurant's return directions that I need to return the damaged device within 10 days or face being charged for the device if I fail to return it. So how is it fair I have to wait 1-3 weeks for them to open a box and scan a device that was never in my possession.
I've been reading the other ConsumerAffairs reviews of Assurant and I'm now even more concerned when I'm seeing reports of massive charges because of "lost packages" they have received and fail to scan in. I have both FedEx and an Assurant representative claiming that they have the package. So this is where I'm at. I will update this review upon either receiving my refund with the time it took or possibly the worst case scenario that I've seen other reviewers have posted.

Device came quickly and was easy to activate. Returning the damaged device was also a simple process. My wife also has the insurance and I recommended that she uses it considering her device needs repair.

Please provide locations in the state of Wisconsin for replacement screens for Note 9 and newer. If there is an offer to pay for screen replacement it should be able to be utilized by all customers with those products. My phone was working fine. Just wanted to get the screen replaced and the locations were too far for me to drive causing me to pay more for a replacement phone altogether.

Assurant was awesome! A cell phone was lost and once notified, Assurant took the claim and within a couple of days a new phone arrived at home. I will definitely recommend getting a phone to have this insurance coverage.

My phone was cracked and the replacement I received the camera was broken, I use the phone for work. I had to wait almost a week for T-Mobile to send me another phone. Not sure why they don't have a quality check before shipping out a replacement phone.

Assurant did a great job. Except I wish they didn't charge the $99 deductible on the replacement phone.Assurant should not charge any deductible. If they didn't, that would be great! I already paid several hundreds of dollars when I purchased the phone.

Broken screen. Once I paid the deductible I received the new watch within 3 days. When I opened my package, my replacement watch was there with instructions to connect it to service. The return package was also included. The whole process was smooth and worry free. Simple and easy.

Really great to have protection plan. Only had to pay deductible when phone broke. Only wish outside cover paid by insurance. I was so glad when I did this because damaging of other phone. Assurant is a good company to work with and process not bad.

I was happy with the way that you process my order so quickly. However getting my new phone turned on took a while because I kept being switched back and forth from metro by T-mobile to the insurance company to activate it. Then I was asked to return the old phone when I told you I lost it. How am I to return something I don't have?

Assurant was exceptionally quick and responsive in assessing and approving my claim for my damaged cellphone. They expedited my replacement cell phone overnight. I received my replacement cell phone undamaged. They supplied a return package for my damaged device which was easy to use and mail. I'm very satisfied with the entire process and will recommend to my friends.

Would like more store locations to choose from, I live in Willowbrook. The area could have better parking, another handicap spot would help too. Doug was great, asked how he could reach me otherwise. Doug Came right out when I arrived for phone pick up. Doug mentioned the warranty for the repairs too. Store was clean, everyone had masks on, I felt safe going in to the store.

Got them through a lie T-mobile salesman told me. Lost my phone. They send me a refurb. Claiming they have no control over what warehouse sends out. An absolute lie. Then told return the phone and get deductible back. They think frisbee acts as a phone. Deductible that no one told me about.

The Assurant personnel I spoke with were very helpful and the replacement was prompt. I did have to reorder a SIM card as one was not included. I received prompt e-mail confirmation of my coverage and the settlement which was a new phone. I would have appreciated if I was notified if my insurance continues on the replacement phone.

Lacked all the people skills that good communication requires such as, empathy, flexibility, and a pleasant phone personalty. My feeling was that Phone Customer Service Experience missed all the cultural and language nuance that is expected domestically. It was very methodical, systematic, and when put on hold I got the feeling that the hold music deliberately irritating by design. And to no surprise, my call was disconnected and never returned! They had my number for just such a case. No return call.
The other confusion was your 10 return policy. I needed customer service to help clarify exactly from which date - date of shipment or date of receipt? It got shipped on a Friday and received on a Monday Evening. Anyway, I was able to correctly successfully return my broken phone in the provided envelope by U.S. mail tracking number ** within your 10 day time frame. The Customer Service Experience was poor = 1/2 Star.

They gave me a replenished phone instead of a new one (second claim). Because the original owner was unable to reset her damaged phone I had all sorts of issues. Apple said, it was Assurant's fault due to not resetting back to factory or verifying this before giving me this replacement phone. I was unable to sign on a computer, Due to not being the original owner of this phone, it recognized my phone with the previous owner…item was still registered to the original owner. This replacement phone was not activated to me…even though I had activated the phone with my email. It took the right apple rep to tell me the problem.
Now Tmobile assurant is sending me another phone. I have been having this issue for months. Right person…with the resolution…. Thank you apple. You might as well say your phone is stolen rather than submitting a damaged phone. No compensation for all the aggravation. Assurant customer Service and tech were foreigners and kept misunderstanding my issue.

My phone was purchased in 2018, so my model was no longer available. They then upgraded me from a Galaxy S7 to a Note 10. I'm only required to pay my security deposit. Such a blessing! Now this phone has more space in it, dramatic difference. Extremely grateful!

Sent my old phone in 3 months ago and they lost it in the warehouse. Usps confirmed the delivery at your warehouse 5 days after I sent it. Tried to charge me $500 for a broken damaged phone because your staff cannot do its job and find it in your facility. Once it is confirmed delivery in your facility it no longer my responsibility to keep track of the phone, it yours. Train your staff properly or update your computer. Get it together. You cannot charge me for your mistake. Bad business practices.

I set up the phone myself but a couple days later realized no text or call could be completed So I call 800#. The gentleman I spoke with was nice but I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND HIM. And it was very frustrating and when I got to speak with a tech it was the same. So when the phone was connected he just hung up on me, now mind you I was using the new phone that was replaced. But I thought that was ok?

I have had to use Assurant several times and not once have had a single issue. I've always received a new or refurbished but I couldn't tell version of my same phone I needed replaced and this last time I even received a new phone that was the upgraded model of my lost one (Moto 5g stylus to replace my 4g stylus).
